In thriller movies, the lighting during different scenes has
a greater effect than people realize. The lighting can
change the emotion that the scene is trying to bring out
of the target audience. In addition, it can also be used to
bring out the importance of certain characters and the
different roles they may have. Here are some examples:

show his facial expression as he is focused on what is
ahead of him and by this it shows the intensity of the
scene. The audience will recognize this and it will make

For another example of the way lighting can be used. It
can be used to show the outline of someone or
something. This is used because it is more effective and
mysterious to see the outline of someone than be able to
actually see their face. The audience starts to feel
insecure and discomfort because they can clearly see
that the figure is not friendly and a scene full of violence
is coming up.

3. Finally, this is from the movie Hush, based on a
murderer.This lighting is to focus on the maskfor the
audience to be afraid and frightened. This is the reason
the lighting goes from dark in the rest of the room and
only focuses on his face.
