Walker Ackoff (1969)
Projects as open systems (identifying the project nature in systems terms)
Systems thinking and project management evolved together from meeting the same challenges
during the 1950s (Winch, 2010). The system approach helps to understand the complexity of the
processes and the interrelationships with them. (Walker A. , 2015).
Ackoff (1969) considers system as:
"An entity, conceptual or physical, which consists of interdependent parts. Each of a system's
elements is connected to every other element, directly or indirectly, and no sub–set of elements is
unrelated to any other sub–set".
Walker (2007, p. 67) states that systems theory "helps to explain how the project management
process should be structured and hence how the various firms and ... Show more content on

These types describe the extent of interaction between project actors. Pooled interdependency
means, that actors do not interact straightly, but contribute individual pieces to the whole. Even
though they are not directly linked, their performance affects each other. Sequential interdependency
has a serial form. There is the direct interdependency of units on each other: the output of the entity
becomes the input for the followed one. Both parts make contributions to and are sustained by the
whole. In case of reciprocal interdependency, the outputs of each become the inputs for the others,
but not in a serial form. Each unit poses contingency for the other. Reciprocal interdependency has
the highest level of complexity and dominates in construction projects, which shows the need for the
highest level of integration. (Baccarini, 1996)
Thompson (1967) suggests that sequential interdependency consists of the elements of pooled
interdependency, whereas reciprocal interdependency embraces the elements of both pooled and
sequential. This shows the links between the types of interdependence.
The three types of interdependency have significant implications for how to achieve coordination in
construction, as they imply that the actors must adjust and direct their activities and resources in and
between numerous supply chains and numerous construction sites. (Bankvall,

Essay on Music in the Sixties
Music in the Sixties
My topic is Music in the Sixties. In my essay I would like to determine that events that occurred
during the 1960's had a significant effect on some of the music that was produced. I believe that
certain music and musical events derived from peoples feelings and views on things that occurred
during the 60's. Some of these events include the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, politics,
and society as a whole. There were many different stereotypes and prejudices. There was war going
on, and there were many people who were trying to focus on peace. My main goal is to show how
these events may have influenced people's music, and also to emphasize how music was used to
unify people despite all of the negativity that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Woodstock was a huge music and art fair that lasted 3 days in the summer of 1969. The site tells
who sponsored Woodstock, what different people's opinions were on the purpose of the festival, and
what occurred over the course of the planning and duration of the concert. The promoters wanted to
link the theme of the concert to the anti–war sentiment. Many people who were involved were
stereotyped as drug users or left –wing politicians because of their appearances. These events,
although intended to send a message of peace, also caused a great deal of conflict.
In addition to this information we are given the names of the performers who participated in the
concert. This site also has information of other events that took place during the 60's, such as The
Monterey International Pop Festival, which took place in order to show that pop music should be
accepted as a serious art form, as jazz was. This event first took place in the summer of 1967. This
site also includes additional links, but these are the ones that I felt were useful.
The second source that I used is titled Colored Reflections <http://net4tv.com/color/index.htm>.
This site has information on the 1950's through the 1990's. In the 1960's section, it starts off by
telling us that the 60's was considered the "New Frontier since we had a young president, John f.
Kennedy, in office. It says that he was "...the inspiration for this new decade". (par.1) This

Lifestyle Assessment I am a fairly healthy person. I have no predisposing factors contributing to
diseases like hypertension, stroke, or diabetes (healthfinder 2017). Although I do have severe
allergies from my recent visit to the allergist I have found that I am allergic to every kind of tree,
mold, dust, animal (cat and dog), and pollen. This was not surprising to me because I often get sick,
and recent blood test have shown that my igA is low, it is a 39 but should be at least 60. This is a

Fruit also has high levels of vitamin C. Minor infections like colds and the flu are also less likely to
happen if you eat plenty of fruits like kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, and citrus fruit, because these
fruits offer high levels of vitamin C (dailymail UK, 2002). This is why increasing fruit intake is
important because you will receive high levels of vitamin C which can reduce the risk of you getting
sick, and it prevents deterioration of memory. I recommend that everybody increase their fruit
uptake to get the benefits of a healthier life. Methods you could try are eating three different types of
fruit a day so you don't get tired of a fruit. Also you could eat fruit as a snack instead of ice cream,
chips, candy etc. Behavior Modification Plan My measureable goal was to eat three servings of fruit
a day by April 22, 2017. I picked this goal because of the benefits of increasing fruit intake. In order
to make sure I adhere to my target goal I will eat three different fruits in a day so I won't get sick of
a certain fruit. I also choose to eat half a cup of blueberries a day to help stimulate new brain cells

Woodstock Research Paper
Woodstock was a four day long music and arts festival. The event was held on August 15 to 18 in
1969. Woodstock took place on Max Yasgur's Dairy Farm in Bethel, New York. Nearly 500,000
people attended the festival, some as young as even two years old. The festival became a free event
as people began to show up because even though tickets were sold there were far too many people to
check tickets. The people who attended Woodstock savor all memories they have of the four day
festival because it truly was a one time event, even though it was been tried to be recreated before.
Woodstock started as a music festival and ended as a historical symbol that provoked cultural and
political change. The music and arts fair named Woodstock started out ... Show more content on

Most singers switched to no longer mentioning their political views in their songs but instead
referencing them during shows. "Artists with political music respond to the desires of fans, whether
that is stating the partisan opinions held by a group or by reflecting the emotions experienced in a
time of changing political culture". (Burstyn, Duffy, Newman, Francis) Even the most famous
people at the time had to recognize what was happening in their society. After Woodstock there was
still political controversy in the military, economics and society. There was also an anti Vietnam
movement, international conflicts and economic downturns. Woodstock may have ended the 1960's
with peace and love but that mindstate may not have carried into the 1970's completely. However
ever since Woodstock there has been the mentality that love fixes all and this may be correct
because after Woodstock smaller movements such as feminism and the green movement began to
thrive and more people were a part of the movements than ever. "Citizens of the Woodstock nation
claimed to have proved that love could conquer a lot, if not at all. Many went on to advance or purse
new social agendas that emphasized diversity, governance by consensus, environmentalism , the

Essay on The Mallee Region of Victoria
The Mallee Region of Victoria
Location and Contents:
The Mallee region of Victoria is situated in North–West Victoria and covers an area of around
44,000 square kilometres. The region is known to be associated with the adjacent land of South
Australia and New South Wales and is also recognised to join with the Wimmera and Loddon
regions of Victoria. Also, because of the large area which the region covers and the diversity it
beholds, it is sometimes distinguished into two sub–regions, the north and the south. Whilst 38% of
the land is occupied by the public, only 1% of the remaining 62% is protected from grazing animals
and only 3.04% retains native vegetation. ????????

Hydrosol is a very wet kind of soil and is saturated for the majority of the year, often located where
former lake beds occur. Sudosol is more sodic than acidic, it is a Texture Contrast Soil and therefore
there is a strong contrast between the surface and the subsoil. This is the most common type of soil
in the Mallee region. Vertosols are soils which grow and shrink, causing cracking when the soil dries
out. They occur along the creek and river beds as well as the broad plains of the Mallee. Along the
coastlines of the Mallee are Calcarosol soils, they, unlike Sudosols and Vertosols, do not have a
strong texture contrast throughout its layers. Lastly, two sandy soils have been identified in the
Mallee region: Rudosol and Tenosol. Rudosols are very young and undeveloped soils and are
widespread in the Big Desert and Sunset Country. Tenosols are also rather undeveloped and occur in
the same areas as Rudosols. Tenosols generally have a 'low water holding capacity and fertility'.
Having a vast selection of soils can only mean that a vast selection of produce comes from the area.
Product information:
A large array of products are grown in the north–west of Victoria. Some common fruits and
vegetables which come from the Mallee are grapes (74% of Victoria's table grapes and 98% of its

Mallee are transported to Asia and Europe. HOW IS THE PRODUCE GROWN IN THE

In the sixties there were several legal changes, which gave women a stronger position in marriage.
The Married women's property act in 1964 made sure that all women would get half the money they
saved from housekeeping, in 1967, the matrimonial acts gave husband and wife exactly the same
right of occupation in a family home. Best most of all in 1970, when family assets were divided up
the women's upkeep of household and welfare of family was taken into acount.women were now
treated with more equality, and this had been a great change for women who lived in the 1950s.
Before, in the 1950s women did not have many job opportunities most of them worked in boutiques
or as receptionists all of this was because of the traditional views that women stay at home and
sacrifice their career for the home and children, this is because they did not have equal education. So
in the sixties law was formed to make sure girls and boys had same education.
Liberals liked the sixties because there were many changes. Homosexuality was legalised in 1967
but relationships had to be in private and The Death penalty was abolished.

The Stonewall Riot of 1969
While it was barely a kernel of activism against the immense backdrop of advocacy during the
1960's and 70's, the gay liberation movement was one of the most important challenges to the
hierarchal structures of accepted moral and scientific thought. Functioning as a minor footnote
within the context of a substantial political arena comprised of the issues of war, race and a raging
women's liberation movement, gay liberation in the late twentieth century still sought to impress
upon the marginalizing and sectarian constructions that subjugated gays to an imposed peripheral
existence of personal and public abhorrence. The Stonewall Riot of 1969 signaled the start of a
substantial social movement, the dissemination of which would permeate the gay community and
call into action an assault on the mechanisms of social order, public legislation and cultural
dispositions that sustained a framework of persecution against homosexual men and women. The
efforts of gay liberation activists during the sexual revolution of the late twentieth century made
possible the near expulsion of constraints on sexual expression and gave way to a new rhetoric of
pride and affirmation. For some gay men and women, just being a homosexual in the late 20th
century meant being a part of the movement– no political agenda necessary. Sexual politics, after
all, have a visceral quality that isn't easy to ignore, which D'Emilio and Freedman attest to when
they recognize that "gayness itself symbolized an

The Stonewall Riots Of 1969
This investigation assesses the New York City Stonewall Riots of 1969, concerning their influence
on the rise of the modern gay rights movement, specifically regarding political emergence, social
unity, and demographic shifts. The investigation will attempt to answer the following question: To
what extent were the Stonewall Riots of 1969 a catalyst for the LGBT social movement in America?
Two sources, "Movements and Memory: The Making of the Stonewall Myth" by Elizabeth A.
Armstrong and Suzanna M. Crage, and Stonewall: the Riots That Sparked the Gay Revolution by
David Carter, are used to form a proper analysis. Carter effectively reflects on the monumental spirit
of the riots, while Armstrong and Crage focused on the lack of lasting significance of the riots,
which directly refutes the beliefs of Carter. Stonewall: the Riots That Sparked the Gay Revolution,
was written by David Carter in New York, and published in 2004. This book serves the purpose of
identifying Stonewall as the starting point for the modern gay revolution as a whole. It argues that
the riots set a spark that ignited America in favor of homosexual rights as well as political and social
opportunity. This book is valuable because it not only acknowledges the riots at Stonewall as
important, but shows how they transformed homosexual life and the movement entirely. Carter
persuades readers to see New York as a venue for revolution, and acknowledges the challenges
faced throughout the beginning of the movement,

60's Persuasive Speech
I am writing to persuade you that the Musical Revolution was the most important movement of the
time, and shall be selected to commemorate the sixties perfectly.
Many say the sixties was the decade that vibrated the whole nation. The Musical revolution was a
movement that has made an impact of a life time on our society, even still does today. I have been to
many music events including Floyd Fest and Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, the festivals I have
attended have made me have a new appreciation for the art of music throughout history. Many
things must happen to make music, and even more steps must be taken for the music to be popular
and appreciated especially in the sixties.
Throughout the sixties many things were going on. In 1960, John F. Kennedy was elected and the
first weather satellite was introduced. In 1941, the Bay of Pigs invasion was committed and the
Peace Corps was created that fell into the sixties. The following year The Beatles released their first
single, "Love Me Do", along with the first Wal–Mart being opened. John F. Kennedy was
assassinated in 1963, along with 'Doctor Whos' first showing on Television. In 64', the Civil Rights
Act of 1964 was signed into law creating equality. Voting rights were given and signed in 65', and

Woodstock was a planned event however; the majority of it just fell into place for three days. The
second quality is "is it temporally bounded". The event was bounded by the first and last days. Next
is "is it spatially bounded". It contained a stage for the musicians and an area marked off for those
that paid for their ticket however, during the occasion the boundaries for the ticket holders was
breached. Another quality is "was it programmed". Woodstock was programmed due to the line–up,
or the order in which the musicians sang. The fifth quality is "is this a coordinated public event".
This was the main purpose for Woodstock to get people to come together to share the peace and
love. The final quality is "is the event heightened". Woodstock is still remembered as being three
days of a concert and people coming together to enjoy good music and love. The cultural process of
Woodstock consisted of rejoicing in the different styles of music and in each individual that came.
The festival included many social dramas. Individuals, in that number, are bound to have
differences. Woodstock taught people, approximately 400,000, how to resolve their issues by
sharing a common goal. The celebration helped to advance the ideas of peace and unity throughout
the generation. The three–day celebration was considered an aesthetic event. It was not only a
concert but an art fair as well. Some works of art were seen during the event. People wore the art in

Outbreak Of A Rare Species Of E. Coli
Last summer 2011, Germany stumbled upon an outbreak of a rare species of E. coli O104:H4
(Pennington 2011). The causative strains appeared to have features from two different E. coli
pathotypes of enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC) and shiga–toxin–producing E. coli (STEC) called
enterohaemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) (Bloch, Felczykowska and Nejman–Faleńczyk 2012). The main
effect from this strain causes major incident of gastroenteritis and unusual develop of haemolytic–
uremic syndrome (HUS) among the affected patients (Rasko et al 2011). HUS often described as
group of disease of haemolytic anaemia, acute renal failure and thrombocytopenia (Schifferli eta al
2009). And it is known to be the result of infection by pathogens that produce shiga–toxin (Walker,
Applegate and Black 2012). This particular strain possessed several identical characteristics with
some older STEC cases but with different serotypes such as E. coli O105:H7, O121:H19 and
O111:H8 (Scheutz et. al 2011). At the end of the outbreak, nearly 3500 cases of EHEC were
recorded with 850 patients experience the progression to HUS and 82 deaths (RKI 2011).
On 1st May, hospital in Germany received patient with gastroenteritis symptoms and believed to be
the first case that linked with the outbreak (Altmann et al 2011). As of the first week of May, which
was the presumed initial onset of the disease, HUS cases started to develop and around 0 to 2 new
cases of HUS were recorded daily. Then, since 9th May, it started to show

their feelings. 2 Some popular social media sites are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. For a person,
the use of social media can be a boon as well as curse. Effective use of social media can help a
person to broaden their knowledge. On the other hand, social media can be harmful if misused.
Social media is a public platform and if anything said wrong can result in hurting other people
feelings which ultimately creates conflict between individuals or a group. So, social media should be
used effectively to gain more knowledge and reduce conflicts.
3 Social media has become a good platform for the elected leaders. 4 They can convey their
messages to the general public via social media instead of going to places. It also helps people to
give feedbacks on the issues shared by the political leaders through social media. However,
politicians should be careful while using the social medias because once the wrong information or
message is posted and seen by the public, it can result in decrease in their publicity and it can also
result in conflicts among the people. However, the things posted on social media is not always
correct. 4 According to the Pew Charitable Trust, the Dallas Police Department tweeted an article to
the public stating that the Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib had been arrested for public
intoxication. However, that was a social media blunder because it was not Aqib Talib who was
arrested but it was his brother Yaqub Talib, who was arrested. This incident shows that a social
media blunder can lead to embarrassment and retractions and can affect the politicians or the one
who was responsible for the blunder.
I recently followed President Donald Trump from 21st October, 2017 to 3rd November, 2017. I
noticed that the President uses twitter excessively. He lets public know anything and everything he
finds important through twitter. On October 25th, the President posted about the biggest tax cut in

Woodstock 1969 Essay
Woodstock '69 Many large concerts occurred throughout America in the summer of 1969, but none
were as well known and symbolic as Woodstock. Its message was clear; three days of Peace and
Music. Its impact on America's culture and society as well as its youth will not be forgotten for
many years to come.      Four men named Michael Lang, Artie
Kornfield, John Roberts, and Joel Rosenman originally established Woodstock. The men's initial
idea for the festival was to promote the idea of a new recording studio in Bethel, New York, which is
where the event actually took place. (Jacksonville.net) Because of the extensive amount of rain that
fell before and during Woodstock, the site was changed twice and ended up on ... Show more

Although police were brought into Woodstock, for fear of rioting, they overlooked drug laws. The
crowd stayed peaceful throughout the duration of the festival despite the heavy use of marijuana and
LSD. Not one fight was reported and the only death occurred as a result of a tractor running over a
man. (Geocities.com) The entire concert was a time of peace and happiness. Many of the people
attending Woodstock were given a ray of hope in a world that didn't accept them. Through all the
drugs and mud etched in their minds, the desire for love and acceptance made its way to the surface.
The mood created by this is what made Woodstock so memorable. Had it not been for this prevalent
feeling many people would have dismissed this festival as just another excuse to get high and listen
to music. Examples of this new feeling were given during the concert itself. Small things that made
such a difference included the fact that there was no destruction of property reported during the
duration of the event. (Jacksonville.com) Also, although there was a large amount of trash left at the
end, the 600–acre cleanup project was completed within five days with the help of fans and
crewmembers. (Visi.com) For many people the impact of Woodstock lasted much further on into
their life. Men and women were given the confidence to go out into the world and

The Stonewall Riots Of 1969
The 1960's was a decade of great change in America, from civil rights for African Americans to
equal rights for women, the American people were rising up and discovering that their voice in the
political discourse was just as important as those they elected to office. One other such group that
awakened and challenged the existing status quo that kept them silent and scared were the lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities across the country. From the first large–scale
associations of LGBT individuals that formed in San Francisco in the 1950's to the political and
social groups that came to be following the Stonewall Riots of 1969, they would speak out and not
allow themselves to be kept down anymore. The aim of this paper is to establish the events and
opinions that led up to the uprising at the Stonewall Inn such as perceived and real discrimination by
police, medical professionals, and society itself, what actually happened at Stonewall, and how they
sparked the modern LGBT movement in the United States over the next half century to the present
day.
Before continuing onto an analysis of how the Stonewall Riots happened and what came of them,
one must first take a closer look at the events and opinions that came before and brought upon the
anger and frustration that many LGBT individuals felt on that fateful night. According to many
historians, the years before Stonewall were considered a "dark age" for LGBT individuals, where
their very existence was

Ways of Seeing
Ways Of Seeing (Chapter 7)
In today's world, marketers and advertisers are fighting for every spot they get to display their ads
and market their products. The ultimate aim is to get as much exposure as possible. This in turn,
they hope, will translate into sales. The literature "Ways of Seeing – Part 7" underlines the theory of
publicity. I chose this literature because it elucidates the backbone of marketing and advertising –
publicity. It interests me because designers and advertisers revolve their careers around for many
years in order to obtain 'Publicity'.

Berger highlights this difference by giving examples of Mrs. Siddons by Gainsborough and Andy
Warhol's Marilyn Monroe which, although have outstanding elements of a painting but fail to be
'objects of envy'.
When looking into the differences between publicity and oil paintings, another consideration is the
tense with which it is referred to. While the subject of oil paintings associate to the moment they are
created in, the contents of publicity refer to the possibilities of a superior future enhanced by the
product. Also, oil paintings are a possession of permanent nature or precisely, a depiction of the
present lasting for the future, which in case of publicity is only the probable imagination of the
future. Lastly, there come monetary differences. Oil paintings are created for that class of the society
who posses wealth. Conversely, publicity is designed for that class of people whose lives would be
superior by the presence of the publicized product.
In spite of having these variations, publicity and oil paintings share a common visual language.
Berger supports this resemblance by various comparisons of oil paintings and publicity images
placed side by side, which vary only because publicity includes some quotations. Another similarity
that Berger has pointed is the way message is conveyed across by both art forms taking reference
from history.
Among all the assertions Berger has made, the most indisputable is the social and political
association made

Rhetorical Analysis Of ' The 1969 Apollo '

Culminating Activity Rhetoric can be used as a great way to convince an audience, but it has also
helped many people become better writers. The use of rhetoric in writing is crucial because it 's what
makes the source effective or ineffective, so that you are able to persuade the audience. Rhetoric is
defined as, "the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing." In order for the speaker to
persuade the audience is using figurative language and the rhetoric appeals. Some appeals which
consist of ethos, pathos, and logos. Each of these which is important in order to catch the audience
attention. All these text are related to the 1969 Apollo mission which included: SOAPS, ... Show

An example of an effective text using the appeals would be "In Event of Moon Disaster" by former
President Nixon's speechwriter, William Safire in 1999. This text included both ethos and pathos
which was about if a disaster occurred. William Safire's speech in 1999 was an event of a disaster
that left the citizens of the U.S mourned. Safire expressed pathos through the quote where he talked
about how they will be remembered for their courage to accomplish this mission. An example would
be, "They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be mourned by their nation; they
will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned by a mother Earth that dared send
two of her sons into the unknown." In this quote Safire let his audience know that although two men
lost their lives in the launch they will always be remembered. Safire also says, " In their exploration,
they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the
brotherhood of man." From this we can infer that these men sacrificed their lives to try to
accomplish a mission that was almost impossible at the time due to lack of technology. With this
being said, the audience was most likely to react in such a way that might have left them without a
word because of the strong pathos and them being able to understand this event with some empathy.

The Woodstock Research Paper
Woodstock was held on the dates of August 15th, 16th, and 17th of the summer of 1969. The festival
had taken place on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York. "The three days of peace and music" had to be
turned into a free admission and take down the fences for everyone. The festival had many different
music artists that performed including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, The Who, The Grateful
Dead, etc. This was a huge countercultural event for music in America. Andy Bennett had said that
"The Woodstock festival synergized a way of life which had been growing through the sixties:
antiwar, antiestablishment, pro–drugs, non–competitive, and individualistic." This event was proven
to be beyond music and stood for more. The Woodstock festival ... Show more content on

In Beth Bailey's Sex in the Heartland, She talks about the "sexual revolution" and how this played a
huge role in the 1960's counterculture. She had said that Woodstock was where they promoted the
idea of "free love" and "the pill", this then introduced the breaking down of demonized
homosexuality. Most of the people there had been very free spirited and did whatever they wanted,
hence how the fences had been forced down and couldn't stop free admission. Homosexuality was
more accepting after Woodstock. People had realized that it didn't matter what sexuality you were
and this was the start of a better society when it came to gay acceptance. This was a counterculture
because most of this wasn't introduced at this time and people that were of different sexuality felt
more comfortable in that type of environment of peace. All kind of sexuality was apart of the social
norm and it was seen as more casual at that point. There were many ideas of free love and new ideas
of sexual representation that were never seen before. An perfect example of this was the lyrics from
Stephen Stills', "if you can't be with the one you love honey, love the one you're with." One
interesting source was that Elliot Tiber's Taking Woodstock, a memoir of his experience of the
festival explained how he helped bring the festival to Bethel and was actually present at the
stonewall riots, was homosexual. This shows that the sexual revolution and the counterculture of the
60's had been shown at Woodstock. The counterculture of Woodstock was extremely shown with the
"free love" aspect and it being socially acceptable in the open and people being sexually liberated as
gays and

Woodstock 1969 Case Study
As the intended event planner for Woodstock 2010, it is my responsibility to examine previous
Woodstock events (1969, 1994, and 1999) to assist in my preparation for this event. Furthermore, by
studying the past triumphs and failures, I can recreate the elements that worked and improve upon
the elements that were failures. Indeed, close attention will be paid to identifying the most critical
areas of concern, identifying three additional areas needing attention, and determining the previous
event's goals and objectives.
In my opinion, the most critical area of concern would be the damage to the Woodstock brand, since
poor management has led to violence and "exploitation of festivalgoers, hosting communities, and
sponsors" (Crowd Management Strategies, 2015). Another major area of concern is the location that
in 1999 was on Griffiss Air Force Base's concrete and tarmac surfaces versus 1969's dairy farm
location, which led the 1999 crowd to experience widespread heat exhaustion issues (19 Worst

First, crowd security was a serious issue at all the Woodstock events, with crowd surfing causing a
multitudes of serious injuries and festival crashers causing significant overcrowding of the location

artists that attracted a specific type of crowd, however, in 1994 and especially 1999 the groups
scheduled to perform were from completely different styles of music, which led to nu metal bands
following a rap performer (19 Worst Things..., 2014). Third, the refreshments were also a serious
problem at Woodstock '99 where they offered bottled water and food at extremely inflated prices,
which led along with the high temperatures, it is speculated, to the vandalism of vendor booths on
the final day of the festival (19 Worst Things...,

Research Paper
Research Paper In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four–year
degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four–year degree. In
most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are
given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive
incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling
required for a teaching career. A four–year degree is a requirement in most various professions
although the salaries show a significant range in the pay scale. In order to become a teacher in any

With beginning teachers usually earning entirely less than other college graduates, the profession is
at loss of top–notch, quality people who tend to find jobs seeking more money. Almost 50 percent
leave the profession within 5 years, lured by higher pay and prestige elsewhere in the booming U.S.
economy (World, 1999, par. 7). Starting teachers average a $25,735 salary in the United States
compared to an engineer earning $56,820 or a physical therapist earning $56,600 (Engineer, 2000,
par.1). And what signal does it send out about the value of good teachers and a good education when
a 45–year–old teacher with a master's degree earns $45,000 a year and a 25–year–old out of law
school often starts at $80,000, considering a six year education for a master's degree and a seven
year education for a law degree (Greenhouse, 2002, par. 4)? A teacher is also given no compensation
for the long hours spent basically in overtime work. The teacher's day does not end when they leave
school because if lesson plans, grading, or planning is not completed, it will have to be finished on
their own time. Accountants, paralegals, and engineers all are compensated and get paid overtime
for work that does not get completed in a regular day or if they want to stay and

The Impact Of Woodstock
Woodstock Music Festival was a music event in Bethel, New York that changed the way people live.
During August of 1969, Woodstock swept the nation with not only talented musicians, but also
many new thoughts and opinions on the world. This popular concert event introduced ideas of
peace, unity, kindness, and togetherness. Woodstock not only made an impact on the United States,
but led to change worldwide. It helped people overcome prejudices, informed people about the
danger of drugs, led to safer and better prepared concerts, and started a chain of music events all

Woodstock Music Festival acted made a major impact and changed the way we live today.
Woodstock acted as a catalyst for cultural and social change in the United States, and all over the
world. During the summer of 1969, Woodstock Music Festival led many people to overcome
prejudice. People who came to the festival were peaceful, stress–free, interesting music–lovers that
are known by many as "hippies". Volume number twenty six of Popular Music explains by saying,
"The 'hippies' many of the residents feared, turned out, in many cases, to be kind, polite, willing to
pitch in and help in whatever way they could. Many residents were able to overcome their
prejudices about the long–haired, ragged, and 'peculiarly dressed' individuals they had heard so

The Controversy Of The 1969 Stonewall Riots
The topic that the proposed book focuses on considers the contentious impact of the 1969 Stonewall
Riots upon the struggle for LGBT+ rights. This potential monograph, entitled "Riots for Rights: the
Debatable Influence of Stonewall," pursues to furthermore enhance the argument concerning
whether the 1969 Stonewall Riots began the public LGBT+ movement for further rights, or if the
converse occurred, wherein this momentous protest instead the culminated the LGBT+ efforts of the
previous years, merely pushing it further into public discussion. In the modern era, LGBT+ rights
still undergo fierce argument and debate, and so the proposed book's topic certainly holds relevance
in both a historical and political context that continues into the present day. Furthermore, another
key importance for the publication of this monograph stands that while the voluminous
documentation of the progression in LGBT+ rights Post–Stonewall exists, serious evaluation and
comparison of the rights already developing before the 1969 Riots became widely publicized. "Riots
for Rights: the Debatable Influence of Stonewall" would expand upon these facets and further the
historical understanding of the still–evolving history of the modern–day LGBT+ movement. While
various historical methodologies prove useful for the monograph's topic, in order to properly display
the range of approaches the subject required a select number of methods chosen. The social
historical approach centers on the past

Desert Biomes

Deserts are mostly found in the east but a few are also found in the western region of the Americas.
They are very hot places with low moisture and barren waste lands. When you think desert what
normally jumps into your head is sand cactus and clear skies with the sun beating down on you. The
maximum temperature for a desert can climb up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature in
winter only drops a few degrees and it receives a small amount of humidity. The average amount of
rainfall year round is less than 15 cm. Vegetation is very rare, it's mostly restricted to ground–
hugging shrubs and woody trees. All the leaves are replete. Typical animals include small nocturnal
carnivores. There are also insects, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will eat insects and reptiles. Most coyotes live alone or in pairs, but may live in larger groups.
Mainly their only predator is mountain lions, but more recently it is developing into humans as well.
There are many ways human activities can impact the desert biome, at least where there is an
existing ecosystem. Development by mining or residential use is one way, as would be diverting the
limited water supplies for agricultural use elsewhere. Humans can damage the desert ecosystem if
they use the areas for recreation in an unwise fashion.
Off–road riding (4x4 and dirt bikes) can damage desert plants and pollute the soil, as well as
disrupting the activities of wildlife. Diverting water supplies, which are already likely scarce, can
prevent infrequent rainfall from reaching the native plants. Killing rodents or predators that invade
farms impacts the food chain that exists in the desert. Although it may not appear so, most deserts
support fragile ecosystems that are easily damaged by roads, mineral refuse, or oil contamination
that can come from industries or mines.

Are Energy Drinks Safe?
Question/Topic #1: Are energy drinks safe? Answer: Energy drink manufacturers advertise energy
drinks as booting your energy levels, sleeplessness, and to help you become more aware. However,
the larger amounts of caffeine and other supplements are sometimes not properly reported. In a
study of over 3, 600 adults, the excessive amount of caffeine predisposed the participants to anxiety,
depression, substance abuse, and many more. Resources: 1. McGraw, M. M. (January 01, 2013). Are
energy drinks safe?. Nursing, 43, 3.) 2. Rath, M. (February 01, 2012). Energy drinks: What is all the
hype? The dangers of energy drink consumption. Journal of the American Academy of Nurse
Practitioners, 24, 2, 70–76. Question/Topic #2: What is the most effective ACL reconstruction
technique? Answer: Correct anatomic tunnel positioning is a key part of ACL reconstruction. In one
of a few studies that have been tested, results showed that the variability or standard deviations were
on the high side with standard deviations of 3.2mm between the intra and inter observers. So even
though this technique is tactful, future observations need to be conducted to reduce this variability.
Resources: 1. Shafizadeh, S., Balke, M., Kelz, S., Hoeher, J., & Banerjee, M. (April 01, 2014). Low
inter– and intraobserver variability allows for reliable tunnel measurement in ACL reconstruction
using the quadrant method. Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery : Including Arthroscopy

How 1960s Has Impacted And Influenced Today 's Society
How have the 1960s dramatically impacted and influenced today's society? In today's society, there
are many controversial topics that we are facing today; we have the 1960s to thank for those things.
The sixties was one of the most impactful decades pertaining to culture revolutions; it is the decade
that brought into play some of the problems and privileges that the present is dealing with now. The
sixties brought the gay movement, women's rights, the drug revolution, and has also impacted music
as well. One of the most well–known things about the sixties is its music. Bands in the sixties started
to break the conservative boundaries by talking about drugs and sex in their music; the drugs and
sex revolution in this music also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drugs highly influence music in the sixties with bands such as The Byrds, The Doors, The Grateful
Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and The Beatles. These bands took inspiration
from the affects that the drugs had on them with their psychedelic properties. Drugs were also just
starting to get introduced and people were highly influenced with positive drug propaganda ("The
60 's"). So, the positivity about drugs were influencing the bands and the bands were influencing the
people and the more dugs being bought, the more people heard about them, and the more people
heard about them, the more they were used, so basically it was just an endless cycle of drug
positivity.
So now there are more than a hundred thousand people in America who are being influenced by this
music that expresses sex and drug use in positive ways. Also, with the invention for the birth control
pill in 1960, the consequences of having sex lessened and now women could be just as involved in it
as men where. In 1962, 1.2 million American women were using it and by 1965 that number reached
to 2.3 million women (Nikolchev). In the 1950s, sex would have barley been herd of outside of
marriage, but now into the sixties, it became more and more common for teens and young adults to
be irresponsible.
In today's society sex and drugs are common place. Media now a days show, talk about, or make
references to sex. Anyone could turn on their TV and

Woodstock 1969
Many large concerts have occurred in the United States, but none have been as symbolic as the
three–day music and art fest that touted the slogans of peace and love. This event was identified as
such as a result of the peace movement and the emergence of the flower children. Woodstock Music
Festival took place near Woodstock New York on August 15, 16, and 17, 1969, and became a
symbol of the 1960s American counterculture.
Woodstock began with the following four partners: Michael Lang, the manager of a rock band, Artie
Kronfeld, an executive at Capitol Records, and two capitalists, John Roberts and Joel Rosenman
who supplied most of the money and the original idea. Their original plan was to build a recording
studio in Woodstock, a small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically this helicopter saved Woodstock or the show might not have gone on. So the U.S. army
saved the day for a crowd of people who were mostly anti–war.
On Saturday the only non–drug related death of the event occurred. There was a tractor pulling a
tank trailer to pull the sewage from the portable toilets away. The grounds looked like a trash can by
now with cellophane, sleeping bags, and cigarette butts littering the ground, but under this mass
slept a 17–year–old Raymond Mizak. The tractor slowly ran over him. He died in his sleep. Also on
Saturday two army jet planes flew over Bethel and broke the sound barrier. Conspiracies raged
within the Woodstock Festival that the government was trying to disrupt their gathering or that they
were all on the biggest drug experience of their lives.
On Sunday one of two births happened. A bearded hippie drove a motorcycle that roared up to the El
Monaco Hotel. On the back was a woman screaming that she was having a baby. Resort owner
Elliott Tiber raced in. The theory used to determine that Elliott Tiber was the one to deliver the baby
was the fact that he was the only one not stoned. On Monday morning it ended with the finale with
Jimi Hendrix's rendition of the Star–Spangled Banner. That moment is has gone down in Rock 'n'
Roll history as one of the greatest moments ever.
On Monday afternoon the makers of Woodstock were listening to a different kind of music. They
were in a 1.3 million dollars debt. In the hurry to

Walker Ackoff (1969)

  • 1. Walker Ackoff (1969) Projects as open systems (identifying the project nature in systems terms) Systems thinking and project management evolved together from meeting the same challenges during the 1950s (Winch, 2010). The system approach helps to understand the complexity of the processes and the interrelationships with them. (Walker A. , 2015). Ackoff (1969) considers system as: "An entity, conceptual or physical, which consists of interdependent parts. Each of a system's elements is connected to every other element, directly or indirectly, and no sub–set of elements is unrelated to any other sub–set". Walker (2007, p. 67) states that systems theory "helps to explain how the project management process should be structured and hence how the various firms and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These types describe the extent of interaction between project actors. Pooled interdependency means, that actors do not interact straightly, but contribute individual pieces to the whole. Even though they are not directly linked, their performance affects each other. Sequential interdependency has a serial form. There is the direct interdependency of units on each other: the output of the entity becomes the input for the followed one. Both parts make contributions to and are sustained by the whole. In case of reciprocal interdependency, the outputs of each become the inputs for the others, but not in a serial form. Each unit poses contingency for the other. Reciprocal interdependency has the highest level of complexity and dominates in construction projects, which shows the need for the highest level of integration. (Baccarini, 1996) Thompson (1967) suggests that sequential interdependency consists of the elements of pooled interdependency, whereas reciprocal interdependency embraces the elements of both pooled and sequential. This shows the links between the types of interdependence. The three types of interdependency have significant implications for how to achieve coordination in construction, as they imply that the actors must adjust and direct their activities and resources in and between numerous supply chains and numerous construction sites. • 3. Essay on Music in the Sixties Music in the Sixties My topic is Music in the Sixties. In my essay I would like to determine that events that occurred during the 1960's had a significant effect on some of the music that was produced. I believe that certain music and musical events derived from peoples feelings and views on things that occurred during the 60's. Some of these events include the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, politics, and society as a whole. There were many different stereotypes and prejudices. There was war going on, and there were many people who were trying to focus on peace. My main goal is to show how these events may have influenced people's music, and also to emphasize how music was used to unify people despite all of the negativity that ... The site tells who sponsored Woodstock, what different people's opinions were on the purpose of the festival, and what occurred over the course of the planning and duration of the concert. The promoters wanted to link the theme of the concert to the anti–war sentiment. Many people who were involved were stereotyped as drug users or left –wing politicians because of their appearances. These events, although intended to send a message of peace, also caused a great deal of conflict. In addition to this information we are given the names of the performers who participated in the concert. This site also has information of other events that took place during the 60's, such as The Monterey International Pop Festival, which took place in order to show that pop music should be accepted as a serious art form, as jazz was. In the 1960's section, it starts off by telling us that the 60's was considered the "New Frontier since we had a young president, John f. Kennedy, in office. This is why increasing fruit intake is important because you will receive high levels of vitamin C which can reduce the risk of you getting sick, and it prevents deterioration of memory. • 9. Woodstock Research Paper Woodstock was a four day long music and arts festival. The event was held on August 15 to 18 in 1969. Woodstock took place on Max Yasgur's Dairy Farm in Bethel, New York. Nearly 500,000 people attended the festival, some as young as even two years old. The festival became a free event as people began to show up because even though tickets were sold there were far too many people to check tickets. The people who attended Woodstock savor all memories they have of the four day festival because it truly was a one time event, even though it was been tried to be recreated before. "Artists with political music respond to the desires of fans, whether that is stating the partisan opinions held by a group or by reflecting the emotions experienced in a time of changing political culture". After Woodstock there was still political controversy in the military, economics and society. There was also an anti Vietnam movement, international conflicts and economic downturns. Woodstock may have ended the 1960's with peace and love but that mindstate may not have carried into the 1970's completely. However ever since Woodstock there has been the mentality that love fixes all and this may be correct because after Woodstock smaller movements such as feminism and the green movement began to thrive and more people were a part of the movements than ever. The region is known to be associated with the adjacent land of South Australia and New South Wales and is also recognised to join with the Wimmera and Loddon regions of Victoria. Also, because of the large area which the region covers and the diversity it beholds, it is sometimes distinguished into two sub–regions, the north and the south. Whilst 38% of the land is occupied by the public, only 1% of the remaining 62% is protected from grazing animals and only 3.04% retains native vegetation. ???????? Hydrosol is a very wet kind of soil and is saturated for the majority of the year, often located where former lake beds occur. Sudosol is more sodic than acidic, it is a Texture Contrast Soil and therefore there is a strong contrast between the surface and the subsoil. This is the most common type of soil in the Mallee region. Vertosols are soils which grow and shrink, causing cracking when the soil dries out. They occur along the creek and river beds as well as the broad plains of the Mallee. Along the coastlines of the Mallee are Calcarosol soils, they, unlike Sudosols and Vertosols, do not have a strong texture contrast throughout its layers. Lastly, two sandy soils have been identified in the Mallee region: Rudosol and Tenosol. Rudosols are very young and undeveloped soils and are widespread in the Big Desert and Sunset Country. • 19. The Stonewall Riot of 1969 While it was barely a kernel of activism against the immense backdrop of advocacy during the 1960's and 70's, the gay liberation movement was one of the most important challenges to the hierarchal structures of accepted moral and scientific thought. Functioning as a minor footnote within the context of a substantial political arena comprised of the issues of war, race and a raging women's liberation movement, gay liberation in the late twentieth century still sought to impress upon the marginalizing and sectarian constructions that subjugated gays to an imposed peripheral existence of personal and public abhorrence. The Stonewall Riot of 1969 signaled the start of a substantial social movement, the dissemination of which would permeate the gay community and call into action an assault on the mechanisms of social order, public legislation and cultural dispositions that sustained a framework of persecution against homosexual men and women. The efforts of gay liberation activists during the sexual revolution of the late twentieth century made possible the near expulsion of constraints on sexual expression and gave way to a new rhetoric of pride and affirmation. For some gay men and women, just being a homosexual in the late 20th century meant being a part of the movement– no political agenda necessary. Sexual politics, after all, have a visceral quality that isn't easy to ignore, which D'Emilio and Freedman attest to when they recognize that "gayness itself symbolized an ... • 27. The Stonewall Riots Of 1969 This investigation assesses the New York City Stonewall Riots of 1969, concerning their influence on the rise of the modern gay rights movement, specifically regarding political emergence, social unity, and demographic shifts. The investigation will attempt to answer the following question: To what extent were the Stonewall Riots of 1969 a catalyst for the LGBT social movement in America? Two sources, "Movements and Memory: The Making of the Stonewall Myth" by Elizabeth A. Armstrong and Suzanna M. Crage, and Stonewall: the Riots That Sparked the Gay Revolution by David Carter, are used to form a proper analysis. Carter effectively reflects on the monumental spirit of the riots, while Armstrong and Crage focused on the lack of lasting significance of the riots, which directly refutes the beliefs of Carter. Stonewall: the Riots That Sparked the Gay Revolution, was written by David Carter in New York, and published in 2004. This book serves the purpose of identifying Stonewall as the starting point for the modern gay revolution as a whole. It argues that the riots set a spark that ignited America in favor of homosexual rights as well as political and social opportunity. This book is valuable because it not only acknowledges the riots at Stonewall as important, but shows how they transformed homosexual life and the movement entirely. Carter persuades readers to see New York as a venue for revolution, and acknowledges the challenges faced throughout the beginning of the movement, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many say the sixties was the decade that vibrated the whole nation. The Musical revolution was a movement that has made an impact of a life time on our society, even still does today. I have been to many music events including Floyd Fest and Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, the festivals I have attended have made me have a new appreciation for the art of music throughout history. Many things must happen to make music, and even more steps must be taken for the music to be popular and appreciated especially in the sixties. Throughout the sixties many things were going on. In 1960, John F. Kennedy was elected and the first weather satellite was introduced. In 1941, the Bay of Pigs invasion was committed and the Peace Corps was created that fell into the sixties. The following year The Beatles released their first single, "Love Me Do", along with the first Wal–Mart being opened. John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, along with 'Doctor Whos' first showing on Television. In 64', the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed into law creating equality. The causative strains appeared to have features from two different E. coli pathotypes of enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC) and shiga–toxin–producing E. coli (STEC) called enterohaemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) (Bloch, Felczykowska and Nejman–Faleńczyk 2012). Advantages And Disadvantages Of Social Media Shrestha 1 Reza Shrestha Sherry Sharifian Government 2305–71013 4th November, 2017 Social Media and Politics Social media is a technology that is computer based and used by people for their research activities and communicating purposes. 1 Social media is a very good platform for people to express their feelings. 2 Some popular social media sites are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. For a person, the use of social media can be a boon as well as curse. Effective use of social media can help a person to broaden their knowledge. On the other hand, social media can be harmful if misused. Social media is a public platform and if anything said wrong can result in hurting other people feelings which ultimately creates conflict between individuals or a group. So, social media should be used effectively to gain more knowledge and reduce conflicts. 3 Social media has become a good platform for the elected leaders. 4 They can convey their messages to the general public via social media instead of going to places. It also helps people to give feedbacks on the issues shared by the political leaders through social media. However, politicians should be careful while using the social medias because once the wrong information or message is posted and seen by the public, it can result in decrease in their publicity and it can also result in conflicts among the people. However, the things posted on social media is not always correct. 4 According to the Pew Charitable Trust, the Dallas Police Department tweeted an article to the public stating that the Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib had been arrested for public intoxication. However, that was a social media blunder because it was not Aqib Talib who was arrested but it was his brother Yaqub Talib, who was arrested. This incident shows that a social media blunder can lead to embarrassment and retractions and can affect the politicians or the one who was responsible for the blunder. I recently followed President Donald Trump from 21st October, 2017 to 3rd November, 2017. I noticed that the President uses twitter excessively. He lets public know anything and everything he finds important through twitter. On October 25th, the President posted about the biggest tax cut in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its message was clear; three days of Peace and Music. The Stonewall Riots Of 1969 The 1960's was a decade of great change in America, from civil rights for African Americans to equal rights for women, the American people were rising up and discovering that their voice in the political discourse was just as important as those they elected to office. One other such group that awakened and challenged the existing status quo that kept them silent and scared were the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities across the country. From the first large–scale associations of LGBT individuals that formed in San Francisco in the 1950's to the political and social groups that came to be following the Stonewall Riots of 1969, they would speak out and not allow themselves to be kept down anymore. The aim of this paper is to establish the events and opinions that led up to the uprising at the Stonewall Inn such as perceived and real discrimination by police, medical professionals, and society itself, what actually happened at Stonewall, and how they sparked the modern LGBT movement in the United States over the next half century to the present day. Before continuing onto an analysis of how the Stonewall Riots happened and what came of them, one must first take a closer look at the events and opinions that came before and brought upon the anger and frustration that many LGBT individuals felt on that fateful night. According to many historians, the years before Stonewall were considered a "dark age" for LGBT individuals, where their very existence was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Berger highlights this difference by giving examples of Mrs. Siddons by Gainsborough and Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe which, although have outstanding elements of a painting but fail to be 'objects of envy'. When looking into the differences between publicity and oil paintings, another consideration is the tense with which it is referred to. While the subject of oil paintings associate to the moment they are created in, the contents of publicity refer to the possibilities of a superior future enhanced by the product. Also, oil paintings are a possession of permanent nature or precisely, a depiction of the present lasting for the future, which in case of publicity is only the probable imagination of the future. Lastly, there come monetary differences. Oil paintings are created for that class of the society who posses wealth. Conversely, publicity is designed for that class of people whose lives would be superior by the presence of the publicized product. In spite of having these variations, publicity and oil paintings share a common visual language. Berger supports this resemblance by various comparisons of oil paintings and publicity images placed side by side, which vary only because publicity includes some quotations. Another similarity that Berger has pointed is the way message is conveyed across by both art forms taking reference from history. Among all the assertions Berger has made, the most indisputable is the social and political association made ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rhetorical Analysis Of ' The 1969 Apollo ' Itzel Nava AP English Language Period:3 October 1, 2017 Culminating Activity Rhetoric can be used as a great way to convince an audience, but it has also helped many people become better writers. The use of rhetoric in writing is crucial because it 's what makes the source effective or ineffective, so that you are able to persuade the audience. Rhetoric is defined as, "the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing." In order for the speaker to persuade the audience is using figurative language and the rhetoric appeals. This text included both ethos and pathos which was about if a disaster occurred. William Safire's speech in 1999 was an event of a disaster that left the citizens of the U.S mourned. Safire expressed pathos through the quote where he talked about how they will be remembered for their courage to accomplish this mission. An example would be, "They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be mourned by their nation; they will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned by a mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown." In this quote Safire let his audience know that although two men lost their lives in the launch they will always be remembered. Safire also says, " In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man." From this we can infer that these men sacrificed their lives to try to accomplish a mission that was almost impossible at the time due to lack of technology. With this being said, the audience was most likely to react in such a way that might have left them without a word because of the strong pathos and them being able to understand this event with some empathy. ... "The three days of peace and music" had to be turned into a free admission and take down the fences for everyone. The festival had many different music artists that performed including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, The Who, The Grateful Dead, etc. This was a huge countercultural event for music in America. Andy Bennett had said that "The Woodstock festival synergized a way of life which had been growing through the sixties: antiwar, antiestablishment, pro–drugs, non–competitive, and individualistic." This event was proven to be beyond music and stood for more. The Woodstock festival ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Beth Bailey's Sex in the Heartland, She talks about the "sexual revolution" and how this played a huge role in the 1960's counterculture. She had said that Woodstock was where they promoted the idea of "free love" and "the pill", this then introduced the breaking down of demonized homosexuality. Most of the people there had been very free spirited and did whatever they wanted, hence how the fences had been forced down and couldn't stop free admission. Homosexuality was more accepting after Woodstock. People had realized that it didn't matter what sexuality you were and this was the start of a better society when it came to gay acceptance. This was a counterculture because most of this wasn't introduced at this time and people that were of different sexuality felt more comfortable in that type of environment of peace. All kind of sexuality was apart of the social norm and it was seen as more casual at that point. There were many ideas of free love and new ideas of sexual representation that were never seen before. An perfect example of this was the lyrics from Stephen Stills', "if you can't be with the one you love honey, love the one you're with." One interesting source was that Elliot Tiber's Taking Woodstock, a memoir of his experience of the festival explained how he helped bring the festival to Bethel and was actually present at the stonewall riots, was homosexual. This shows that the sexual revolution and the counterculture of the 60's had been shown at Woodstock. The counterculture of Woodstock was extremely shown with the "free love" aspect and it being socially acceptable in the open and people being sexually liberated as gays and ... Woodstock 1969 Case Study As the intended event planner for Woodstock 2010, it is my responsibility to examine previous Woodstock events (1969, 1994, and 1999) to assist in my preparation for this event. Furthermore, by studying the past triumphs and failures, I can recreate the elements that worked and improve upon the elements that were failures. Indeed, close attention will be paid to identifying the most critical areas of concern, identifying three additional areas needing attention, and determining the previous event's goals and objectives. In my opinion, the most critical area of concern would be the damage to the Woodstock brand, since poor management has led to violence and "exploitation of festivalgoers, hosting communities, and sponsors" (Crowd Management Strategies, 2015). Another major area of concern is the location that in 1999 was on Griffiss Air Force Base's concrete and tarmac surfaces versus 1969's dairy farm location, which led the 1999 crowd to experience widespread heat exhaustion issues (19 Worst Things About Woodstock '99, ... • 66. The Controversy Of The 1969 Stonewall Riots The topic that the proposed book focuses on considers the contentious impact of the 1969 Stonewall Riots upon the struggle for LGBT+ rights. This potential monograph, entitled "Riots for Rights: the Debatable Influence of Stonewall," pursues to furthermore enhance the argument concerning whether the 1969 Stonewall Riots began the public LGBT+ movement for further rights, or if the converse occurred, wherein this momentous protest instead the culminated the LGBT+ efforts of the previous years, merely pushing it further into public discussion. In the modern era, LGBT+ rights still undergo fierce argument and debate, and so the proposed book's topic certainly holds relevance in both a historical and political context that continues into the present day. Furthermore, another key importance for the publication of this monograph stands that while the voluminous documentation of the progression in LGBT+ rights Post–Stonewall exists, serious evaluation and comparison of the rights already developing before the 1969 Riots became widely publicized. "Riots for Rights: the Debatable Influence of Stonewall" would expand upon these facets and further the historical understanding of the still–evolving history of the modern–day LGBT+ movement. While various historical methodologies prove useful for the monograph's topic, in order to properly display the range of approaches the subject required a select number of methods chosen. Most coyotes live alone or in pairs, but may live in larger groups. Mainly their only predator is mountain lions, but more recently it is developing into humans as well. There are many ways human activities can impact the desert biome, at least where there is an existing ecosystem. Development by mining or residential use is one way, as would be diverting the limited water supplies for agricultural use elsewhere. Humans can damage the desert ecosystem if they use the areas for recreation in an unwise fashion. Off–road riding (4x4 and dirt bikes) can damage desert plants and pollute the soil, as well as disrupting the activities of wildlife. Diverting water supplies, which are already likely scarce, can prevent infrequent rainfall from reaching the native plants. Killing rodents or predators that invade farms impacts the food chain that exists in the desert. Although it may not appear so, most deserts support fragile ecosystems that are easily damaged by roads, mineral refuse, or oil contamination that can come from industries or mines. Answer: Correct anatomic tunnel positioning is a key part of ACL reconstruction. In today's society, there are many controversial topics that we are facing today; we have the 1960s to thank for those things. The sixties was one of the most impactful decades pertaining to culture revolutions; it is the decade that brought into play some of the problems and privileges that the present is dealing with now. The sixties brought the gay movement, women's rights, the drug revolution, and has also impacted music as well. One of the most well–known things about the sixties is its music. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Drugs highly influence music in the sixties with bands such as The Byrds, The Doors, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and The Beatles. These bands took inspiration from the affects that the drugs had on them with their psychedelic properties. Drugs were also just starting to get introduced and people were highly influenced with positive drug propaganda ("The 60 's"). So, the positivity about drugs were influencing the bands and the bands were influencing the people and the more dugs being bought, the more people heard about them, and the more people heard about them, the more they were used, so basically it was just an endless cycle of drug positivity. So now there are more than a hundred thousand people in America who are being influenced by this music that expresses sex and drug use in positive ways. Also, with the invention for the birth control pill in 1960, the consequences of having sex lessened and now women could be just as involved in it as men where. In 1962, 1.2 million American women were using it and by 1965 that number reached to 2.3 million women (Nikolchev). Woodstock Music Festival took place near Woodstock New York on August 15, 16, and 17, 1969, and became a symbol of the 1960s American counterculture. Woodstock began with the following four partners: Michael Lang, the manager of a rock band, Artie Kronfeld, an executive at Capitol Records, and two capitalists, John Roberts and Joel Rosenman who supplied most of the money and the original idea. So the U.S. army saved the day for a crowd of people who were mostly anti–war. On Saturday the only non–drug related death of the event occurred. The grounds looked like a trash can by now with cellophane, sleeping bags, and cigarette butts littering the ground, but under this mass slept a 17–year–old Raymond Mizak. The tractor slowly ran over him. He died in his sleep. Also on Saturday two army jet planes flew over Bethel and broke the sound barrier. Conspiracies raged within the Woodstock Festival that the government was trying to disrupt their gathering or that they were all on the biggest drug experience of their lives. On Sunday one of two births happened. A bearded hippie drove a motorcycle that roared up to the El Monaco Hotel. On the back was a woman screaming that she was having a baby.
