1. Magazine Questionnaire Results
After asking 10 students on their opinion about college magazines and what they prefer to
see in a magazine, I now have a set of results that will help me with my decisions when
making my own college magazine.
Eight of students were between the ages of 16-18, with only two being 19 to 21. Eight of the
people who answered the questionnaire were female and two were male. I found that
seven of the people who bought magazine were to buy 1 to 2 a month, and the rest don’t
buy any.
Eight people I found out would be interested in buying a college magazine and the two
people who said no explained that they already had the idea that college magazines were
boring.
The most popular price that people would be willing to pay for a college magazine was £1 to
£1.50. I consider this to be a good price, as it is not too expensive but at the same time it
still isn’t too cheap.
All of the students said that the design of the front cover is what attracts them most to buy
a magazine; they explain that this is the first thing they see, and that if they see someone
who interests them on the front cover, and the colours and design interests them then they
are more likely to buy it, as it would suggest that the content within the magazine would
also interest them.
Seven of the students also said that they prefer shorter magazine articles over longer
articles. This was because they said that the longer the articles were, the more boring they
seemed to be and that they prefer to look at pictures to keep them interested. The people
who answered that they prefer longer magazine articles explained that they liked to read
and that a longer article usually meant that it was more detailed and that they would be
informed better.
