2. In Retrospect
• I think that my Music video and my ancillary tasks link really
well. Throughout I tried to enforce a very natural theme
sticking with trees and fields as backgrounds and using green
as my main colour.
• This has come through by filming the majority of the music
video outside in the forest or in fields.
3. The music video…
I have chosen this slightly low angled
shot because I really like the simplicity
of it yet it has so much meaning to it.
Having him looking up to the side of
him amplifies the lyrics because at the
time the lyrics say ‘ The wolves all cry’
and having him looking around is
connoting that he can hear these
wolves.
We had our protagonist sat with the
flower twisting it in his hands to show
that it is important to him, and
important that he gets it to his lover,
which is the whole theme of our video.
This shot allows the audience to
recognise the artist as he is used within
my poster and the digipak.
4. The Poster…
My poster follows a lot of the same
conventions as my music video. As the
whole video is surrounded by trees and
nature I felt that this was important to
continue in my ancillary tasks. Therefore by
placing him in front of a tree in a field my
viewers will associate this with the video.
This location is very similar to that of where
we filmed the singer parts of the video and
therefore there is a sense of continuity that
the audience will pick up on.
5. The Digipak…
My images for my digipak were taken at a variety of different
times. The one for the front cover was taken on the last day
of filming were we were able to use the field we used for
filming the singer to get a sense of continuity between the
products. The back cover image is a shot from the actual
video. The image for inside was taken a while after finishing
the filming. I have subverted the convention of the inside
images. Normally there is two different images for the inside
of digipak, however I have used one and flipped it so that it is
symmetrical. I did this because it gave a creepier feel to it and
make it seem more mysterious.
Again like my poster I have stuck for the green and natural
theme which links with the rest of the products.
I have adhered to a lot of the conventions of a cd digipak. I
have the listings on the back, I have a barcode, web address
and record label on the back of the digipak.
