2. Hi guys, And morning ma’am. My name is surya and today
I am going to show you a presentation on how a farmer
takes care of a crop from a field converts as an edible
portion of food on your plate. For this process a farmer has
to face so many struggles to grow a crop. The actually
hard work should not be wasted as food. I know how hard
is it for a farmer to grow crops, because my grandpa is a
farmer.
Okay so lets get into the topic
3. Introduction:-
What is agriculture?
Types of crops
Agricultural practices for crop production.
4. What's agriculture?!
Well many of you know that the word agriculture
means growing of crops for food and rearing of
animals for food, fiber, and manure of crops. But
do you know the process taken to do
agriculture?
Ok lets find out.

6. The first step for agriculture is soil preparation.
The main thing needed for agriculture is Tools or implements:-
Plough-
A plough is a tool used for ploughing the land. It is one of the
oldest tool used by the farmers sciences the ancient times. It is
made out of a long log of wood. This part of wood is called
plough shaft. A handle is attached to its one and at the other
end is strong straight iron strip pointed at one end. It is called
plough share. The plough is supported to a horizontal beam of
wood which is connected to the bull’s neck and is pulled.
7. Leveler:-
A leveler is a tool used for leveling the land. It breakes
down and makes the big crumbs of soil leveled.
o Seed Drill:-
A seed drill is a modern machinery used for sowing seeds
into the ground. It is really helpful because it sows the
seed at correct distance and correct depth.
8. What are the types of crops?
There are actually different types of crops in
India {they are called seasonal crops}. There
three different types of crops:-
Kharif Crops {rain season crops}
Rabi crops {winter season crops}
Zayed crops {summer season crops}
9. Kharif crops:- Kharif crops are usually sown with the
beginning of the first rains in July, during the south-west
monsoon season. In Pakistan the kharif season starts on
April 16th and lasts until October 15th. In India the kharif
season varies by crop and state, with kharif starting at
the earliest in May and ending at the latest in January,
but is popularly considered to start in June and to end in
October.
Rabi crops:- Rabi crops or Rabi harvest are agricultural
crops sown in winter and harvested in the spring in the
South Asia.[1] The term is derived from the Arabic word
for "spring", which is used in the Indian subcontinent,
where it is the spring harvest.
10. Zayed Crops:- In the Indian sub-continent, the crops
grown on irrigated lands which do not have to wait for
monsoons, in the short duration between Rabi and Kharif
crop season, mainly from March to June, are called
Zayed crops (also written as Zayed crops).

12. Soil preparation
For preparing the soil they should first plough
the soil and then level it and then add fertilizers
to the soil, this process is called manure.
13. Seed selection
For good growth of crop a farmer should select
good and healthy seeds. There is a system
which helps the farmer to select the seed which
is called{NSC} National Seed Corporation.
14. Application of manure
For good growth we should add either chemical
or natural fertilizer. The fertilizers contain the
plant nutrients.
15. Irrigation
The field has to be well irrigated because it is
one of the main way for the plant to get water.
There is traditional method of irrigation or
modern method of irrigation.
16. Weeding and crop protection
The field has to be well protected from insects
and rodents which damage the crops. So they
add pests to the field to keep it protected.
17. Harvesting and storage
When the crops are fully grown it should be
harvested and stored. It can be harvested either
by hand or combine harvester.
