Operation Eagle Claw
Operation Eagle Claw
One helicopter along with a C–130 lay engulfed in flames. Eight U.S. service men valiantly laid down their lives. The deceased U.S. troops, weapons,
helicopters, maps, and Top Secret plans remained behind. A failed rescue mission would be known to the world the next morning and leave an open
wound for the United States and the Special Operations community.
On November 4th, 1979, nearly 3,000 militant student stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran, Iran taking in 63 American hostages. Iran freed 13
hostages consisting of women and African Americans, but retained custody of the remaining 53 personnel. (Lambert 2015) After a grueling five
months of failed negotiations, President Jimmy Carter approved the U.S. military to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using the damage and wreckage behind, they bolstered together a propaganda campaign to prove their cause to the world. In light of the tragic
events, good came about. The failure of Operation Eagle Claw led to the creation of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
A review committee known as the Holloway Commission convened to improve U.S. special operations. (The Origins of Air Force Special
Operations 2009) provided us with two major changes that came about to pave the road for future special operations. First, the DoD would establish
a Counter Terrorism Joint Task Force. The CTJTF would consist of special operations members from all services. Here, they are to plan, train, and
conduct operations together under joint doctrine. This change brought about the symmetry and cohesion between the services needed to conduct
future high risk operations in denied territories. Secondly, a Special Operations Advisory Panel (SOAP) was established. This panel consists of high
ranking officers and retired personnel well versed in special operations. They review and evaluate high risk missions and provide an independent
assessment. If created, SOAP could've identified that the wrong helicopters were being used for the mission and chose the correct iron for the mission.
To date, several operations have been successfully completed under extreme odds due to the lessons learned from Operation Eagle

Operation Eagle Claw History
Operation EAGLE CLAW marked the beginning of intelligence as an integral part of Special Operations. The unsuccessful attempt to rescue hostages
at the United States Embassy in Tehran, Iran, revealed the need for Intelligence integration into the tactical arm of the United States Military.
Intelligence personnel needed training on tactical level clandestine operations and terminology, extending past the basics of regular warfare. A
makeshift organization after Operation EAGLE CLAW, called the Field Operation Group (FOG), fulfilled that need, and later became theUnited States
Army Intelligence Support Activities (USAISA). USAISA created the standards for intelligence Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) currently
used in support of Special Operations Forces today. In November 1979, a group on Iranian militants took over the United States (US) Embassy in
Tehran, Iran taking 72 hostages. The US devised a plan to rescue the hostages called Operation EAGLE CLAW, which combined elements of Special
Operations Forces (SOF) across all four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
FOG addressed the obvious need for intelligence integration into the mission by providing tactical level collection and analysis. Iranian militants
released the hostages prior to the operation. (Brief History of Unit) Had the operation occurred, the probability of success would have been much higher
due to the addition of intelligence. The SOF units would have gained a much clearer picture of the operational environment allowing them to anticipate
potential risks. Human intelligence could have provided information on the civilian population to avoid detection and interference, as well as firsthand
knowledge of sandstorms in the area. Analysts could have provided pattern analysis on physical and human terrain, in addition to an overall mission

Onychomycosis: Fungal Nail Infection
CLINICAL OVERVIEW TEMPLATE (Onychomycosis)
TERMINOLOGY
CLINICAL CLARIFICATION
Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nail bed, matrix or plate. [1, 2]
It was historically referred to a non–dermatophytic infection of the nail but is now generally used as term to denote any fungal nail infection. [1]
CLASSIFICATION
Onychomycosis is classified to several types characterized by clinical presentation, the route of invasion, or causing organism: o Distal subungual
onychomycosis (DSO) is the most common form characterized by invasion of the nail bed and underside of the nail plate beginning at the
hyponychium. [1, 3] o White superficial onychomycosis (WSO) is less common than DSO (10% of cases) and occurs when certain fungi invade the ...

Signs include [1]: o "Twenty–nail" dystrophy o Onychorrhexis (exaggerated longitudinal ridging) o "Angel wing deformity," in which the central
portion of the nail is raised and the lateral portion is depressed
A patient with 20 dystrophic nails is unlikely to have onychomycosis. o Contact dermatitis
Occasionally resembles onychomycosis.
Diagnosis is facilitated by [1]: o Knowledge of known irritants or history of contact dermatitis o Presence of contact dermatitis elsewhere on the
body. o Nail trauma
Repeated nail trauma can cause distal onycholysis, which can lead to colonization by microorganisms that produce pigmentation of the area. [1]
If the nail is clipped, the nail bed will be normal if the symptoms are caused by trauma rather than onychomycosis. [1] o Other
Nail products containing formaldehyde may also cause onycholysis. [1] o Nails may present as yellow and all exposed nails are affected.
Diagnostic groups o Not applicable
TREATMENT
GOALS o The primary goal is to eradicate the infection as there is always a relapse in undertreated conditions. [1] DISPOSITION

Animal Declawing Research Paper
Declawing your cat is one of the most controversial topics within the veterinary field. Onychectomy, widely known as declawing, is an elective
surgery that removes the claws of an animal by means of amputation on all or part of the distal phalanges of all the animals toes. The procedure is
mainly performed using either a laser, scalpel, or nail trimmer (often referred to as the guillotine method). There is no medically necessary reason to
perform this surgery, it mainly falls on feline owners not wanting household items damaged or to help prevent scratch–related injuries. An additional
procedure would be tenecomy, the surgery provides evidence of overall better behavioral problems. Although there is no evidence that proves
onychectomy is a procedure guaranteed to harm cats, studies have shown some felines will experience short to long–term complications from the
procedure. It falls on the owner whether to have this surgery done on their felines, veterinarians usually do not recommend performing it unless it is
medically needed, which are usually rare cases.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the veterinarians' obligation to educate owners about feline declawing; how it will be performed, what method is recommended or will be used,
alternatives to declawing, proper pain management, and of course the risk and benefits that come along with the surgery. Onychectomy is a
controversial procedure due to the plethora of short and long–term complications. Short–term complications occur in about 50% of cases, and these
complications include: pain, lameness, hemorrhage, decreased appetite, personality change, infection, lethargy, and cystitis. Long–term complications
are infrequent, and include: claw regrowth, chronic pain, sore paws, flexor tendon contraction, increased biting, and behavioral

Journey Of The Fallen Star Short Story
Journey of the Fallen Star " You should've done better!" Growled mother." I'm leaving! Maybe it will make you better at taking care of yourself!"
Lemon, Cherry, Dot, and Lightning watched her go." Well, I guess I'll go hunting and you guys can find bedding for us tonight." Said lemon. As
Lemon walked away, Cherry sighed," He was always getting punished for being who he is. That's not fair." Cherry still was a kitten so sometimes
she didn't say things right. Lemon, Dot, and Lightning are related, and Cherry is their adopted sister. Lemon caught two mice and a rabbit. Lemon
and Dot shared the rabbit because they were older. Dot is black with one white ear, Lemon is orange with white paws, and Lighting cream colored.
Dot, Lemon, and lightning are related. Cherry is a calico that is adopted. They stayed like that for two months.
Two months later, Dot had a dream. An orange, glowingcat with a green star in his paw spoke to her. He said, "Star will fall when there is no sun."
Meanwhile, Cherry had woken up before everyone else. " Today the day I'll go to fallden three, I mean fallen tree! "
"Ooh! That tree looks good for climbing. " As she hurried to the tree she noticed it was old and falling apart. Then, suddenly a black cat jumped down.
It was Dot! " Cherry! Get down from there now!" " I won't fall " she said proudly. " CHER– oh there you are! Cherry get down from the Racoon Tree!
" said Lemon. Cherry had reached the top of the tree and was looking

The, Devil 's Claw
Deep in the jungles of South Africa lies a unique plant known locally there as the "devil 's claw." The true scientific name is Harpagophytum
precumbens though. At first, it has pretty blossoms that make it look like any other flower that is in the region. But once it produces seeds, it is
easy to see how it got its name. Each variety is a little bit different, but all of their seeds look like long, sharp, talons stemming from the center of a
small skull. The only other plant known to have seeds with the same morbid appearance is the snapdragon flower, which has seeds that also look like
tiny skulls. The stories that have originated over devil 's claw have made it seem like it must be some kind evil plant, but that is far from the truth....

Devil 's claw induces a state of relaxation, which is useful for women suffering from tension and anxiety during menopause. It is also helpful for those
who are struggling to fall asleep at night because they can 't relax from the pain that they are in. And it can increase the sedative properties of stronger
prescription pain relievers, so some use it together with them. Since it acts as a sedative, it shouldn 't be taken before operating heavy machinery though.
Some people also use supplements containing devil 's claw if they are suffering from an illness that makes it difficult for them to digest food properly.
It is believed to be effective for this purpose because it reduces inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. And it also helps flush out any waste if
someone is constipated.
Both animals and humans suffering from gout can use this herb for treating this condition too. Usually, people suffering from gout develop painful
joints, which makes moving around very difficult. That is because their body can 't rid itself from the uric acid that is crystallizing around the joints.
But this herb helps release some of it, which reduces the symptoms of the condition.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Unfortunately, some of the side effects of devil 's claw can be serious. So caution should be used when taking it. Although it reduces inflammation in
the gastrointestinal tract, it also causes internal bleeding. This happens most commonly in people who have other

Willow: A Short Story
"Your name?"
"Willow."
"Ash."
Willow smiled evilly. The black kittypet lashed his tail. Willow's grey and black–specked pelt was ungroomed, and her silverish chest was bent in
awkwardly as she stalked away. The small black kittypet with a blue, yet blood–stained, collar followed on her tail. A rouge slid up to her, flashing his
claws across her pelt, but Willow snapped his neck before her blood started welling out. Ash stopped in his tracks, eyeing the surroundings carefully,
before following her. The black tom's amber and blue icy gaze flittered over the blood. He licked his muzzle.
"Let's find some prey..." He growled. Willow ignored his snarl and leapt onto a tall tree, then onto the top of a building. A group of small birds pecked
aimlessly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He avoided the claws, and swiped back, making sharp, clean cuts across Ash's cheek. Red, thick blood ran down his cheek, his fur sticking upward
and his ears back. Willow licked her claws before ripping them down Francis's side. The cuts made blood trickle down like water, through his sleek
fur. The skinny tom's ribs showed as he flashed them towards her, slamming into her. Willow laid dazed. This skinny ct was fast, and strong. Ash
bolted after them, raking his claws accidently down Willow's leg as Francis jumped over him. The black and white tom raked his claws down Ash's
snout, before throwing him away from Willow.
Willow could barely snarl before Francis dug his claws into her throat. She shoved him off, only making the cut bigger. "Francis! That's enough!" Ash
cried. Francis looked at the smaller black cat, rage burning in his strange eyes. "Francis, do you hear me!? I said stop!" Ash snarled, as Francis padded
silently closer until he loomed over the cat.
Ash couldn't protest before Francis was on top of him, digging his claws into the black fur where his heart lay. His back paws ripped open Ash's
stomach, and Francis ripped one paw over his panic–stricken blue eyes. "Goodbye, Ash." He snarled, before twisting his claws in the tom's stomach
and slicing his throat open so much that you could see through it. Francis lifted his gaze off the dead cat and looked at Willow. (Well dang that was

Cardinal looked around she saw a few Mudwings, even fewer Rainwings, a lot of Seawings, and the rest were all Poisonwings, only then did
Cardinal notice how cramped the cave was in total there were probably about 100 dragons stuffed in this cave "Riptide,Star you two are in charge

one of the big groups like the Seawings or the Poisonwings but she didn't trust Kinkajou and Coyote to handle anyone but the few Rainwings so she
decided that her best choice was to place him with Pheasant to lead the Mudwings. "Icicle, Sulfur, Oleander and I will take the Poisonwings." She said

Sleep Paralysis
Sleep Paralysis It's just another night; there's no air of mystery, no haunted house and certainly no ghosts, and yet I am still utterly terrified. I, a
man standing at around 6 foot, was absolutely terrified. It was cold and the dim light of my television dimly lit my bedroom, the scent of my
nervous sweat permeated the crisp air. Why am I scared? The dreams. Every night of the past month, without fail, I have woken up screaming.
Completely terrified that the awful creatures were still going to be there when I awoke. Running a hand through my greasy black hair I tried to
get a grip on my sanity. "They're just dreams." I said to myself for the thousandth time. Unconvinced, I lie my head onto the soft, feather pillow.
Turning the tv off I begin to force myself to sleep, sweating profusely still despite the air conditioner in my room being on. Then, the dream begun.
My eyes opened, my room was the same as ever, the same dim blue glow of my night light, the same black curtains and blanket. Everything was
just as it was when I had fallen asleep, with only two major differences: One, I am asleep (Sleep) and Two, I am completely unable to move
(Paralysis). As he has every night for the past month, the ashen skinned creature appeared from the end of my bed, like a solid smoke. It's hair, messy
and pure white, obscured my vision of it's face, making only his glowing blue eyes, identical to mine, visible as they burrowing into my very soul. His
slender appendages, almost

The Claw: A Narrative Fiction
The Claw Dana was exhausted. Working the night shift at Seven Eleven gas station was dreadful. It was the worst job in the world in Dana's eyes.
Dana locked the doors to the run–down building. The street was deserted and the moon glistened among the darkness. The howling in the distance
did not come from the wind. Dana hurried to her small mini cooper, startled by the eerie scene. The howling sound seemed to get closer and closer
as it repeated. Dana soon heard rustling sounds, when suddenly a large animal slammed into the side of her car. Dana screamed as the animal ran off
into the distance, or was it something else? Dana speculated. Dana instantly drove home. Her head was spinning and she could not think straight. Was
this a dream? Dana thought. But when she stepped out of her car and saw the colossal claw marks, she highly doubted it. She hurried up the stairs of
her two car garage. Dana stepped into her tiny house when suddenly, "BOO!" Out jumped Max, Dana's 6–year–old brother. "Why aren't you in bed
Max? You could have woken up mom and dad!" Exclaimed Dana. "I wanted to see you before I go to bed," Said Max. "Go to bed Max that was not
funny." Max hopped into his room. Dana was hysterical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

on the gas. She looked at her rearview mirror and realized there was a another long scratch. The scratch faintly spelled the words don't blink. Dana
knew she had to get away from whatever was after her. Dana looked again in her mirror and saw a shadow swiftly moving in the darkness. The figure
appeared in the streetlights. Dana slowed down to envision it. It had looked eerily familiar to Dana. Dana then realized why it was chasing

The one–horned bull grunted and took a step back while still eying on the sentry. Rageran looked to Stifflus. "You must pardon my sub–leader, Sir

now. But just make sure not one of your warriors does anything sudden, else there will be blood spilled here." "These are Aaviendi, Claw Leader,"

and my best friend," he told the Minotaur, his eyes suddenly turning dreamy. Stifflus looked away into the distance, again recalling pleasant days
with his brother. "I have a brother too," Rageran said gruffly. "Although Turlik turned down my offer to have him join my Claw and help me look

Rageran. "I didn't ask for any food for myself," the bull grunted. "Eat it anyway, Sir Rageran," Stifflus said mildly. "You need it, and it would help
with morale amongst your warriors. By letting them see you eating will give them a sense that you and I have worked things out. And perhaps
everyone, even my people, can relax and not be so tense toward everyone else." Rageran stared at the young Centaur with curiosity for a moment, then

Review Of Operation Eagle Claw And The Risk Management...
Background: On November 4, 1979, Iranian militants stormed the United States Embassy in Tehran and took 52 Americans captive. This terrorist act
triggered the most profound crisis of the Carter presidency and began a personal ordeal for Jimmy Carter that lasted 444 days. President Carter
committed himself to the safe return of the hostages while simultaneously protecting America's interests and prestige. He pursued a policy of restraint
that put a higher value on the lives of the hostages than on American retaliatory power or protecting his own political future.
As we review Operation Eagle Claw and the risk management process, we uncover several major problems that arose before and during the operation.
These factors increased the scope and complexity, as well as, the experience of all involved–– outcome of the project was a major political and military
disaster. The mission was a very high risk and any efforts to mitigate the risk were completely absent. The elements of project (operational) risk for
Eagle Claw went beyond the bounds of the capabilities of the team. As the scope grew, the complexity and budget grew with it, the experience was
dangerously lacking, and there was never any clear solution to the problem. Early in the 1960s, the Shah announced social and economic reforms but
refused to grant broad political freedoms. Iranian nationalist condemned the Shah and his U.S. supported regime and accused him of "westernizing" of

The Martian Movie Vs Book
Reading a good book is one of the most important and relaxing things a young mind can do. Sometimes, I'll sit outside and read. The sounds of the
neighborhood can relax the mind and immerse you into a good story. Cats meowing, dogs barking in the distance, and a car hitting a turn at a bit
high of a speed might not suit a specific story, but for me, they draw me into the story all the more. The book I was reading was The Martian, which,
after loving the movie and hearing the book was much better, decided to buy. On Mars, the desolate landscape is never accompanied by normal
suburb sounds, but now, it was. A contrasting sound can draw you out of the book for just a moment, but I am quickly drawn back in to hear how

Comparison Between Cats And Dogs
Cats and dogs are considered to be the top pets in the world. Cats and dogs are both furry, four–legged animals that can make good pets. Cats and dogs
like to be played with and are affectionate animals. They both require shots and frequent visits to the vet when needed. Although both animals can add
more love to a family they are both very different animals. Some people are considered cat people while others are dog people. When choosing which
pet is best there are many things to consider.
The main difference between cats and dogs is their history and background. Before dogs became pets, they hunted in packs which means dogs
now love company. Cats are considered more of as loners and love to spend time alone. Dogs are known to be as one of the smartest pets because
they are capable of understanding humans and their commands. On the other hand, cats aren't as social as dogs, it's harder to get them to interact
with their owners. Dogs are more likely to be obedient and ready to be trained, dogs are so smart you can teach them tricks such as to shake your
hand, play frisbee, or even to stand on their hind legs. Cats want no part in learning anything taught by a human for example: Dogs will come when
called whereas cats will stare because they do not want to respond to directives.. Dogs are also social and enjoy interacting with people, they can also
become very loyal to their owners but cats enjoy being alone and would rather lay around than learn to do anything. Dogs are

My design was really hard to create. I had to make a hole in the center of the cotton ball, and it took me awhile to get it right. I wasted about 5
cotton balls trying to make the hole in the center. Eventually I made it before I got stressed. I also had to cut around the cotton ball to make it thin.
That also took me awhile, but it was easier than making the center of the cotton ball. I put some glue on a cotton ball and in another cotton ball, I put
some pieces of tape. I observed which one was better and it was the cotton ball with the tape. The cotton ball with the tape was

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Outdoor Cat
How many times have you seen a cat wandering outside alone, you thinks it's a stray but at closer glance it has a collar, but why is it out there. On
the loose? Just because it wants too? Outdoor cats are at a higher risk of being hurt, getting lost and turmoil in neighbourhoods. An indoor cat is
protected by it's family and the house walls, but owners who let their cat out can find them self in a dilemma. These cats can get taken, attacked or
become lost. Outdoor cats can end up in neighbourhoods where there are rude people or other animals. There is always a risk when going outdoors,
but does it increase for your pet?
A cat's claw is as sharp as a chef's knife and it could really hurt you, animals or itself. Cats are very territorial animals, they don't like when they see
other cats. An outdoor cat could come across another cat who isn't so friendly. I personally have had this happen. My cat is an indoor cat, and even
though he doesn't go outside too often he is very territorial. There is this cat who comes around and jumps up to the window ledge to "play" we don't
know if that is his intentions or he wants to fight. On the insde my cat is running back and forth, attacking the window trying to get to him. These
events create a lot of stress and anxiety on my cat. It's not just other cats are the problem it is also other animals. Outdoor cats could attack other
animals such as dogs, skunks, and so on. Cats are natural born hunters when it comes to wildlife, but where do

Fear Of Cats Research Paper
Prior to third grade, I had seen pictures of cats that I wasn't scared of or have any opinion about it. But in third grade, I discovered my fear of cats
while watching a cartoon. I saw that cats could serenade people to get what they want from them. I fear cats because their eyes glowed in the dark.
The first time I saw a cat glow in the dark, I got terrified because I didn't understand why a living creature would illuminate in the dark and I hated the
animal. I can relate this fear with a popular view of cats in my culture. A myth in my culture explained that cats can be possessed by witches and used
to harm people spiritually. So, cats are considered evil and satanic. Keeping cats as pets was not common in my community.

Devil's Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) is a plant has been cultivated because of its medicinal properties and currently the plant is exported to
many countries around the world. Introduced to Europe in the 1900s, the dried root was used to increase appetite, alleviate heartburn, and lessen

growing about two meters deep. The plant contains green leaves that contain three to five lobes. The flower possesses a trumpet shape and may be
pink, red, or purple with a white center. The fruit is a woody material that contains a spikey covering.2 Devil 's claw is odorless, but it contains
substances that make it taste bitter. The active ingredients that are responsible for the medicinal properties are the chemicals harpagoside, harpagide
and procumbide found in the tubers of the plant. All extracts of the plant are not equally effective and the whole–plant extracts appear to have the most
medicinal properties.2 Devil 's claw has been used for thousands of years in Africa for fever, rheumatoid arthritis, skin conditions, and conditions
involving the gallbladder, pancreas, stomach and kidneys. When it was introduced to Europe in the 1900 's, was used to improve digestion. Devils's

Creative Writing: The Oldest Room
Flaming tendrils arose from below the map, its frail parchment enveloped within a blossom of reds and oranges; the newborn already radiating with
unrestrained power. Embers fell, flickered, and glowed; specks whipped into the night by flailing fiery limbs. Smoke like shadows clawed and

sweetness of the heavenly eye of Chaos that cradled their brethren in its silver crescent. Two young men sat across from each other, hunched, watching
as a blaze of parchment and grass wither and writhe between them. Although their eyes were fixed on the erratic inferno, their minds ran back with

Onychomadesis Research Paper
Onychomadesis
Onychomadesis is the separation of the nail plate from the nail bed. It can often look like a more severe case of Beau's Lines, and leaves the nails
with a dull appearance. They will also have white streaks down the length of them and feel very brittle. There is no discomfort, pain, or swelling with
this disease. A diagnosis is made through examination of thenail plate. The difference between onychomadesis and Beau's Line's is that there is a
complete stoppage of nail production with onychomadesis. Onychomadesis may be a sign of a greater, underlying problem and is known to be linked
with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease in children.
Causes
Onychomadesis occurs whenever the matrix is damaged and stops producing new cells. Localized trauma can cause single digit onychomadesis,
meaning it only occurs on one nail. Local trauma can be any damage to the fingernail that harms the matrix. When the matrix is harmed, the fingernails
are unhealthy and will not grow. "Multi digit onychomadesis suggests a systemic problem such as fever, use of drugs, or viral infections" (1 – MD
Edge). This disease can also present itself after chicken pox. Onychomadesis is cause by a fungus in the family of Moniliacaea (3 – Remedy Land).

Grendel's Claw In Beowulf Essay
"What did Grendel's claw serve as a symbol for ?"
In Beowulf, Beowulf had ripped Grendel's arm off by hand ; Beowulf had the grip of thirty men when all swords was useless against Grendel he ripped
Grendel's arm off. The purpose of ripping Grendel's arm off was because Grendel had attacked Heorot after King Hrothgar left Beowulf in charge. This
was the first time King Hrothgar let anyone in charge of Heorot Hall and Beowulf wanted to make sure that he do his duty good. So as Beowulf
and the Geats lie down to sleep waiting for Grendel's attack everyone is expecting to die. Beowulf decided to fight Grendel with his bare hands since
Grendel does not use weapons to fight. Then comes Grendel with the attack and he raised his arm for the attack but before he does anything Beowulf
grabs his arm which made Grendel panic because he never met anyone stronger than him, which led to them wrestling and destroying furniture and all.

Grendel's claw also has another meaning, to his mother his claw symbolizes sadness for her son that she loved. It shows her how sickening that
human beings are and she eventually retrieved her revenge by killing innocent people. Grendel's mother saw the claw as a symbol of the loss of her
son, she was filled with grief and rage which caused her to go and retrieve her son's arm from Heorot. Then that is when she had started to kill
innocent people for revenge for the death of her son. Beowulf decides to track down Grendel's mother and as he track her down he ends up in her
underwater cave. Grendel honestly at this point is not paying the claw any mind as he takes notice of Grendel's head which he seems to find more
impressive. Beowulf also ignores the treasure and chooses to take Grendel's huge head back as a symbol of his victory of both

Operation Eagle Claw Failure
I am writing this paper to identify and analyze the historic failed mission of Operation: Eagle Claw. Operation Eagle Claw is a prime example of a
failed mission due to lack of communication and sharing of knowledge between government agencies and military branches. This operation took five
months to plan and took place on April 24, 1980. The mission was proceeded by an attack on the US Embassy in Tehran,Iran. This attack was made by
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who was the leader of Iran at the time. In the late 1970's when Khomeini took over the Iran, Shah fled the country and
was eventually granted entrance into the United States by President Carter in order to obtain treatment for his cancer. Khomeini demanded that the US

Before entering Iran there was not sufficient intelligence gathered or shared between the agencies. After entering Iran the problems faced were a
direct result of this lack of cohesion and sharing of intelligence. In my opinion this is the main reason that the mission failed, when you look at each
of the problems faced during each phase of the mission you can point out a specific point where using available intelligence would have prevented or
lessened these problems. An example of this is the weather issues that caused them to lose one helicopter and caused a change of the original flight
plan in which they were not prepared for. It was brought up that particularly one pilot had experience in this region and effects of the weather, this key
information would have helped in the planning and execution phases of the mission. During the evacuation many mistakes were made due to failure to
plan for the need to abort the mission, this caused extreme chaos and loss of life. The biggest lesson learned from this failed mission is that the
government agencies must work together and share their intelligence in order to accomplish our missions

In the book "They All Saw A Cat" by Brendan Wenzel he makes the theme very clear which is everyone sees the world differently. One example of
why the theme is everyone one sees the world differently because when the bee saw the cat it looked like dots that made up different colors which was
making the shape a cat makes. This develops the theme by showing us that even though the bee couldn't actually see the cat fully but the bee still
saw the cat by using differnt a different way of seeing something, which was by seeing a bunch of dots and colors shaping the shape of the cat. The

Consequences And Outline The Events Of Operation Eagle Claw
Operation Eagle Claw SSG Ladd, Casey Operation Eagle Claw The purpose of this paper is to outline the events of Operation Eagle Claw (a rescue
mission) the mistakes made, lessons learned, and alternate outcomes. Operation Eagle Claw was essentially doomed from the beginning. President
Carter hastily authorized a Joint Forces operation which inevitably failed due to lack of understanding and training between the forces. There was no
single point of failure for the mission; it was across the board, from training to planning, intelligence collection, and time. Planning November 4, 1979
was the day that led to a disastrous mission for the United States. On this day 52 Americans were taken hostage in the United States embassy in Tehran
(Helicopter History Site 1997). The United States spent months trying to negotiate the release of the hostages, while formulating a rescue operation in
the event negotiations failed. March 31st Recon elements went over to evaluate and establish a landing area that would accommodate EC–130's. The
landing area, known as Desert One (figure 1), was a staging area in Khorasan Province Iran. Desert One, was equipped with remotely operated
Infra–red lights and strobes to allow the pilots to see the improvised runway with night vision goggles. During the recon, soil samples were gathered to
ensure the EC–130's would be able to land, at the time of the recon, the landing strip was hard packed sand (Helicopter History Site 1997). With

Regina In Tiger Claw
In the novel the main character was taken from her normal life by the Indians. The main character is Regina, a girl who must go through many
changes. Although there were many changes I, as the reader, selected two. One was when Regina was yelled at by Tiger Claw for speaking in her
tongue and he told her she is an Indian now which Regina resents, but she understands most words and can speak the language as well. Also, when
Regina and the Indian women are getting sap from a maple tree, Regina forgets what the white men called the trees. For example, in chapter seven, it
states, "'Please, may I have more?' I ask, instantly regretting the white man's words, for Tiger Claw raises his hand, threatening me. 'No speak like

While looking through the federal agencies list, I had a hard time trying to decide and agency or department that is applicable to the Claws & Paws

we can't guarantee variables impacting the results because they are uncontrollable. The company needs to abide by the guidelines and requirements of

I hope I understood the assignment right. The group and I already discussed some of the possibilities of what agencies/departments could impact our

This agency is concerned with breeding (importing or exporting) of animals. Though, we don't sell any animals we just take care of them. I found it

Operation Eagle Claw, And It Was A Failure
November 4th 1979American personnel at the US embassy are taken hostage in Teheran, Iran. The United States had never faced a hostage situation
like this before. It did not have the Joint Special Operations Task Force trained in planning the mission or the resources for low visibility clandestine
missions. The mission to save the hostages is called Operation Eagle Claw, and it was a failure. This mission on the other hand highlighted areas in the
military that need tobe improved, and when the country required to carry out special operation missions in the future those resources would be there
and ready.
Militant student, followers of the Ayatollah stormed the Embassy and took all personnel hostage. This was the second time in 1979 the embassy was
taken and only a few people remained behind its gates. The students only planned to take the hostages for a few days, hopping that the United States
would return the ousted Shah, to face trial. When the US refused, to return the Shah, the stalemate began, and the students held the hostages for 444
days.
The US realized that the hostages are not being released as before, and a rescue mission was needed to secure their freedom. A group was quickly put
together to plan the rescue. Dubbed Operation Rice Bowl, flag officers from every branch of the military, began to plan the mission and gather
intelligence. The officers of the planning, operations ensured that every branch of the military would have a piece of the mission; no

Due to the sensitivity of the mission, the Department of Defense chose to bypass already established Joint Task Forces (JTF) that existed. Instead, an
ad–hoc JTF was created specifically for Operation Eagle Claw. The newly created JTF encountered problems defining areas of responsibility and areas
of focus. The JTF included three branches of the military in the operation the Navy, Army, and Air Force. The operation rehearsed for five months prior
to its execution. The JTF never conducted a rehearsal during the five months. All elements conducted individual rehearsals only joining on the night of
execution. Problems that were encountered on the night of Operation Eagle Claw were never identified prior which ultimately contributed to the
failure of the mission. Due to OPSEC considerations, the rotary–wing aircraft chosen for Operation Eagle Claw was the RH–53. The RH–53, chosen
solely because it looked "correct" on a United States Navy ship. The decision to choose the RH–53 significantly contributed to the mission failure at the
desert–landing zone known as Desert One. The RH–53 was a poor choice for several reasons. First, the pilots chosen to fly the mission were United
States Air Force pilots who were unfamiliar with the aircraft and its characteristics. Second, the RH–53 historically had a poor Operational Readiness
(OR) rate as it suffered from significant maintenance issues making it unreliable. Third, the RH–53 had no inflight refueling

4 Things To Do To Help Your Cat Recover From Being Declawed
If you are planning on having your cat declawed, there are multiple ways that you can help your cat heal quickly and safely from this procedure.
Here are a few things you need to do after your cat has been declawed in order to help them recover:
Change YourCat's Litter Box
Your cat's paws are going to be more sensitive for the first couple of weeks after their procedure. Due to the sensitivity in your cat's paws, you should
change the material you use in your cat's litter box. You should stick to filling your cat's litter box with shredded newspaper while your cat recovers
from their procedure. Shredded newspaper will feel soft on your cat's sensitive paws. Traditional litter material can just stuck on your cat's ... Show

If you typically keep your food and water up–high, you may want to bring it down and make it easier for your cat to access after its surgery.
Keep in mind that your cat was medicated during their procedure and may be still be in pain. They may not be that interested in eating right after
their procedure, but you should still provide your cat with easy access to food and water. It may take a couple of days for your cat's usual appetite to
return.
Give Your Cat Pain Medication As Directed
Your vet should send you home with pain medication for you cat. Make sure you follow the directions on the bottle exactly as they are written. Do not
give your cat more pain medication than your vet recommended; this could cause your cat to become extremely drowse.
You should also not give your cat any over the counter pain medications meant for people, such as aspirin. These types of medications can be fatal for
cats. Stick to the medication that your vet provided you with. If you feel as if your cat is in excessive pain, contact your vet.

Evanstown: A Short Story
When people from out–of–state ask where I'm from, I say "Southern Indiana." When people from out–of–town ask where I'm from, I say "Evansville."
And when people from Evansville ask where I live, I say 30 minutes north, in a tiny, off–the–map town called Haubstadt. The truth is, I don't live in
Haubstadt either. My home is located in an unofficial town, a little place called Warrenton. Warrenton is a tiny "town" where everyone waves at
each other. It consists of Warrenton Road, Old State Road, and its home base, Log Inn, is at the intersection. Straight down Warrenton road, past the
truck stops and the expanding subdivisions, but before the campground, lies my humble abode. My house is a peninsula in a sea of fields. Our only
neighbors are across the road, but we've always been friendly and stop to talk frequently. Our house in Warrenton is brick, with a large yard and a
falling–apart, soon to be demolished old barn in the backyard. I spent a large chunk of my childhood in that barn, which had a special walk–in section
for our cats. We've always had (and still do) too many barn cats. The original idea was that we would have a few wild cats to keep the barn mice–free,
but I always tamed them and then they multiplied quickly. Each cat had a name, and they were an essential part to the Weiss household. ... Show more

Descriptive Essay On My Favorite Cat
I hate cats, I dislike the way they smell or always want to cuddle and their claws. Everybody has their Monday rituals, sometimes it's coffee or
jogging through the park, but mine is a little out of the ordinary. It starts at six in the morning with me walking my 10 cats down Canal Street all the
way to Pet Central which is the best place in town to get cat food. I used to despise cats until a tragedy happened and they were put into my care. This
is my story about how I became the man on Canal Street with 10 felines.

my nose and I began to sneeze all over my Mothers furniture. I yelled at the top of my lungs "I HATE CATS!" to which she scolded me and

replied in a frustrated tone "You need to stop with all this cat stuff, I lost count after 7 and it can't be healthy for your breathing in all this dandruff
and cat hair". She bypassed my remark, then blurted out "I invited you over because something happened today at the Doctors office" which puzzled
me because usually I always take her to her appointments. She gulped a big drink of her wine and took a deep breath and stuttered "I–I–I have cancer
honey", I stayed calm and assured her it would be alright, but that's when she said in her sweet, soft voice " I only have 2 weeks" sure enough two
weeks had passed and I spent every day with her and her last request for me was that I take care of her cats.
After she passed, I went and rounded up all the cats, I remember packing them all into my 2door sports car and as soon as the loud engine rumbled
on they immediately went into a panic and dug their sharp claws into my leather seats. At that moment I considered taking them all to the local city
shelter, but then a weird feeling came over me like I could feel Mom watching over me. When we arrived at my studio apartment they all seemed

Getting the helicopters staged at Desert One proved more difficult than initially imagined. Even before the initial wave of the helicopters reached
Desert One, the mission experienced a loss due to pilot unfamiliarity with the warning signals of the Navy helicopter. This incident reduced the
available helicopters for the mission, from eight to seven. The weather dealt the mission its second blow. As the helicopters continued toward Desert
One, they encountered severe sandstorms. The sandstorms proved difficult for the pilots. One pilot became disoriented and turned back, once again
reducing the number of available helicopters, which now stood at six. Once the remaining six helicopters arrived at Desert One, the operation was
ready to proceed. As aircraft and Delta Force operators were positioned in the final stages for execution, one of the final six helicopters experienced a
hydraulic problem that caused the safety of the craft to be called into question. Ultimately, this malfunction issued the final blow to the troubled
mission. After the order to abort was confirmed and evacuation initiated, as if to add insult to injury, the already failed mission received one final fatal
blow. While repositioning for departure, one of the five remaining helicopters passed too closely to a parked C–130 cargo plane. The rotors of the
helicopter clipped the C–130 and sparked an explosion that ultimately killed eight military members. It was later

Operation Eagle Claw
On 24 April 1980's United States Special Operation forces , along with Joint Task Force 1–79 , led an operation to save 52 American hostages trapped
inside Tehran,Iran known as Operation Eagle Claw. .The Operation was broken up into two phases. The first phase was to take place in Iran at a
site called Desert One. Desert One was an Airstrip for USAF special operations to use to land aircraft such as the MC130, AC130H, and the RH53D.
The MC130 was a fixed wing aircraft meant to transport ground forces, the C130H was a gunship for security, and the RH53D was a mine–sweeper
and transported ground forces. The RH53D was flown by United States Marine Corps aviators from the carrier USS Nimitz. The plan was that these
aircraft would fly under radar to Desert One, the men would offload at the site, The Helicopters would refuel and be concealed at Desert Two. The next
night the American Forces would then extract the hostages, get to a soccer stadium where they would be picked up by RH53D mine sweeping
helicopters. The assaulting force would hit the compound with the security provided by the AC130H. After extracting the hostages helicopters would

Operation Eagle Claw

  • 1. Operation Eagle Claw Operation Eagle Claw One helicopter along with a C–130 lay engulfed in flames. Eight U.S. service men valiantly laid down their lives. The deceased U.S. troops, weapons, helicopters, maps, and Top Secret plans remained behind. A failed rescue mission would be known to the world the next morning and leave an open wound for the United States and the Special Operations community. On November 4th, 1979, nearly 3,000 militant student stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran, Iran taking in 63 American hostages. Iran freed 13 hostages consisting of women and African Americans, but retained custody of the remaining 53 personnel. (Lambert 2015) After a grueling five months of failed negotiations, President Jimmy Carter approved the U.S. military to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using the damage and wreckage behind, they bolstered together a propaganda campaign to prove their cause to the world. In light of the tragic events, good came about. The failure of Operation Eagle Claw led to the creation of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). A review committee known as the Holloway Commission convened to improve U.S. special operations. (The Origins of Air Force Special Operations 2009) provided us with two major changes that came about to pave the road for future special operations. First, the DoD would establish a Counter Terrorism Joint Task Force. The CTJTF would consist of special operations members from all services. Here, they are to plan, train, and conduct operations together under joint doctrine. This change brought about the symmetry and cohesion between the services needed to conduct future high risk operations in denied territories. Secondly, a Special Operations Advisory Panel (SOAP) was established. This panel consists of high ranking officers and retired personnel well versed in special operations. They review and evaluate high risk missions and provide an independent assessment. If created, SOAP could've identified that the wrong helicopters were being used for the mission and chose the correct iron for the mission. To date, several operations have been successfully completed under extreme odds due to the lessons learned from Operation Eagle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Operation Eagle Claw History Operation EAGLE CLAW marked the beginning of intelligence as an integral part of Special Operations. The unsuccessful attempt to rescue hostages at the United States Embassy in Tehran, Iran, revealed the need for Intelligence integration into the tactical arm of the United States Military. Intelligence personnel needed training on tactical level clandestine operations and terminology, extending past the basics of regular warfare. A makeshift organization after Operation EAGLE CLAW, called the Field Operation Group (FOG), fulfilled that need, and later became theUnited States Army Intelligence Support Activities (USAISA). USAISA created the standards for intelligence Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) currently used in support of Special Operations Forces today. In November 1979, a group on Iranian militants took over the United States (US) Embassy in Tehran, Iran taking 72 hostages. The US devised a plan to rescue the hostages called Operation EAGLE CLAW, which combined elements of Special Operations Forces (SOF) across all four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... FOG addressed the obvious need for intelligence integration into the mission by providing tactical level collection and analysis. Iranian militants released the hostages prior to the operation. (Brief History of Unit) Had the operation occurred, the probability of success would have been much higher due to the addition of intelligence. The SOF units would have gained a much clearer picture of the operational environment allowing them to anticipate potential risks. Human intelligence could have provided information on the civilian population to avoid detection and interference, as well as firsthand knowledge of sandstorms in the area. Analysts could have provided pattern analysis on physical and human terrain, in addition to an overall mission ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Onychomycosis: Fungal Nail Infection CLINICAL OVERVIEW TEMPLATE (Onychomycosis) TERMINOLOGY CLINICAL CLARIFICATION Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nail bed, matrix or plate. [1, 2] It was historically referred to a non–dermatophytic infection of the nail but is now generally used as term to denote any fungal nail infection. [1] CLASSIFICATION Onychomycosis is classified to several types characterized by clinical presentation, the route of invasion, or causing organism: o Distal subungual onychomycosis (DSO) is the most common form characterized by invasion of the nail bed and underside of the nail plate beginning at the hyponychium. [1, 3] o White superficial onychomycosis (WSO) is less common than DSO (10% of cases) and occurs when certain fungi invade the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [1] Signs include [1]: o "Twenty–nail" dystrophy o Onychorrhexis (exaggerated longitudinal ridging) o "Angel wing deformity," in which the central portion of the nail is raised and the lateral portion is depressed A patient with 20 dystrophic nails is unlikely to have onychomycosis. o Contact dermatitis Occasionally resembles onychomycosis. Diagnosis is facilitated by [1]: o Knowledge of known irritants or history of contact dermatitis o Presence of contact dermatitis elsewhere on the body. o Nail trauma Repeated nail trauma can cause distal onycholysis, which can lead to colonization by microorganisms that produce pigmentation of the area. [1] If the nail is clipped, the nail bed will be normal if the symptoms are caused by trauma rather than onychomycosis. [1] o Other Nail products containing formaldehyde may also cause onycholysis. [1] o Nails may present as yellow and all exposed nails are affected. Diagnostic groups o Not applicable TREATMENT GOALS o The primary goal is to eradicate the infection as there is always a relapse in undertreated conditions. [1] DISPOSITION Admission

  • 5. Animal Declawing Research Paper Declawing your cat is one of the most controversial topics within the veterinary field. Onychectomy, widely known as declawing, is an elective surgery that removes the claws of an animal by means of amputation on all or part of the distal phalanges of all the animals toes. The procedure is mainly performed using either a laser, scalpel, or nail trimmer (often referred to as the guillotine method). There is no medically necessary reason to perform this surgery, it mainly falls on feline owners not wanting household items damaged or to help prevent scratch–related injuries. An additional procedure would be tenecomy, the surgery provides evidence of overall better behavioral problems. Although there is no evidence that proves onychectomy is a procedure guaranteed to harm cats, studies have shown some felines will experience short to long–term complications from the procedure. It falls on the owner whether to have this surgery done on their felines, veterinarians usually do not recommend performing it unless it is medically needed, which are usually rare cases.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is the veterinarians' obligation to educate owners about feline declawing; how it will be performed, what method is recommended or will be used, alternatives to declawing, proper pain management, and of course the risk and benefits that come along with the surgery. Onychectomy is a controversial procedure due to the plethora of short and long–term complications. Short–term complications occur in about 50% of cases, and these complications include: pain, lameness, hemorrhage, decreased appetite, personality change, infection, lethargy, and cystitis. Long–term complications are infrequent, and include: claw regrowth, chronic pain, sore paws, flexor tendon contraction, increased biting, and behavioral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Journey Of The Fallen Star Short Story Journey of the Fallen Star " You should've done better!" Growled mother." I'm leaving! Maybe it will make you better at taking care of yourself!" Lemon, Cherry, Dot, and Lightning watched her go." Well, I guess I'll go hunting and you guys can find bedding for us tonight." Said lemon. As Lemon walked away, Cherry sighed," He was always getting punished for being who he is. That's not fair." Cherry still was a kitten so sometimes she didn't say things right. Lemon, Dot, and Lightning are related, and Cherry is their adopted sister. Lemon caught two mice and a rabbit. Lemon and Dot shared the rabbit because they were older. He said, "Star will fall when there is no sun." Meanwhile, Cherry had woken up before everyone else. " Today the day I'll go to fallden three, I mean fallen tree! " "Ooh! That tree looks good for climbing. " As she hurried to the tree she noticed it was old and falling apart. Then, suddenly a black cat jumped down. It was Dot! " Cherry! Get down from there now!" " I won't fall " she said proudly. • 7. The, Devil 's Claw Deep in the jungles of South Africa lies a unique plant known locally there as the "devil 's claw." The true scientific name is Harpagophytum precumbens though. At first, it has pretty blossoms that make it look like any other flower that is in the region. But once it produces seeds, it is easy to see how it got its name. Each variety is a little bit different, but all of their seeds look like long, sharp, talons stemming from the center of a small skull. The only other plant known to have seeds with the same morbid appearance is the snapdragon flower, which has seeds that also look like tiny skulls. The stories that have originated over devil 's claw have made it seem like it must be some kind evil plant, but that is far from the truth.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Devil 's claw induces a state of relaxation, which is useful for women suffering from tension and anxiety during menopause. It is also helpful for those who are struggling to fall asleep at night because they can 't relax from the pain that they are in. And it can increase the sedative properties of stronger prescription pain relievers, so some use it together with them. And it also helps flush out any waste if someone is constipated. Both animals and humans suffering from gout can use this herb for treating this condition too. Usually, people suffering from gout develop painful joints, which makes moving around very difficult. Although it reduces inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, it also causes internal bleeding. This happens most commonly in people who have other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Willow: A Short Story "Your name?" "Willow." "Ash." Willow smiled evilly. The black kittypet lashed his tail. Willow's grey and black–specked pelt was ungroomed, and her silverish chest was bent in awkwardly as she stalked away. The small black kittypet with a blue, yet blood–stained, collar followed on her tail. A rouge slid up to her, flashing his claws across her pelt, but Willow snapped his neck before her blood started welling out. Ash stopped in his tracks, eyeing the surroundings carefully, before following her. The black tom's amber and blue icy gaze flittered over the blood. He licked his muzzle. "Let's find some prey..." The skinny tom's ribs showed as he flashed them towards her, slamming into her. Willow laid dazed. This skinny ct was fast, and strong. Ash bolted after them, raking his claws accidently down Willow's leg as Francis jumped over him. The black and white tom raked his claws down Ash's snout, before throwing him away from Willow. Ash couldn't protest before Francis was on top of him, digging his claws into the black fur where his heart lay. His back paws ripped open Ash's stomach, and Francis ripped one paw over his panic–stricken blue eyes. "Goodbye, Ash." • 10. Sleep Paralysis Sleep Paralysis It's just another night; there's no air of mystery, no haunted house and certainly no ghosts, and yet I am still utterly terrified. I, a man standing at around 6 foot, was absolutely terrified. It was cold and the dim light of my television dimly lit my bedroom, the scent of my nervous sweat permeated the crisp air. Why am I scared? The dreams. Every night of the past month, without fail, I have woken up screaming. Completely terrified that the awful creatures were still going to be there when I awoke. Running a hand through my greasy black hair I tried to get a grip on my sanity. Everything was just as it was when I had fallen asleep, with only two major differences: One, I am asleep (Sleep) and Two, I am completely unable to move (Paralysis). As he has every night for the past month, the ashen skinned creature appeared from the end of my bed, like a solid smoke. It's hair, messy and pure white, obscured my vision of it's face, making only his glowing blue eyes, identical to mine, visible as they burrowing into my very soul. His slender appendages, almost ... • 11. The Claw: A Narrative Fiction The Claw Dana was exhausted. Working the night shift at Seven Eleven gas station was dreadful. It was the worst job in the world in Dana's eyes. Dana locked the doors to the run–down building. The street was deserted and the moon glistened among the darkness. The howling in the distance did not come from the wind. Dana hurried to her small mini cooper, startled by the eerie scene. The howling sound seemed to get closer and closer as it repeated. Dana soon heard rustling sounds, when suddenly a large animal slammed into the side of her car. Dana screamed as the animal ran off into the distance, or was it something else? Dana speculated. Dana instantly drove home. Her head was spinning and she could not think straight. Was this a dream? Dana thought. But when she stepped out of her car and saw the colossal claw marks, she highly doubted it. She hurried up the stairs of her two car garage. Dana stepped into her tiny house when suddenly, "BOO!" Out jumped Max, Dana's 6–year–old brother. "Why aren't you in bed Max? You could have woken up mom and dad!" Exclaimed Dana. "I wanted to see you before I go to bed," Said Max. • 13. Review Of Operation Eagle Claw And The Risk Management... Background: On November 4, 1979, Iranian militants stormed the United States Embassy in Tehran and took 52 Americans captive. This terrorist act triggered the most profound crisis of the Carter presidency and began a personal ordeal for Jimmy Carter that lasted 444 days. President Carter committed himself to the safe return of the hostages while simultaneously protecting America's interests and prestige. He pursued a policy of restraint that put a higher value on the lives of the hostages than on American retaliatory power or protecting his own political future. As we review Operation Eagle Claw and the risk management process, we uncover several major problems that arose before and during the operation. These factors increased the scope and complexity, as well as, the experience of all involved–– outcome of the project was a major political and military disaster. The mission was a very high risk and any efforts to mitigate the risk were completely absent. The elements of project (operational) risk for Eagle Claw went beyond the bounds of the capabilities of the team. As the scope grew, the complexity and budget grew with it, the experience was dangerously lacking, and there was never any clear solution to the problem. • 15. Comparison Between Cats And Dogs Cats and dogs are considered to be the top pets in the world. Cats and dogs are both furry, four–legged animals that can make good pets. Cats and dogs like to be played with and are affectionate animals. They both require shots and frequent visits to the vet when needed. Although both animals can add more love to a family they are both very different animals. Some people are considered cat people while others are dog people. When choosing which pet is best there are many things to consider. The main difference between cats and dogs is their history and background. Before dogs became pets, they hunted in packs which means dogs now love company. Cats are considered more of as loners and love to spend time alone. Dogs are known to be as one of the smartest pets because they are capable of understanding humans and their commands. On the other hand, cats aren't as social as dogs, it's harder to get them to interact with their owners. Dogs are more likely to be obedient and ready to be trained, dogs are so smart you can teach them tricks such as to shake your hand, play frisbee, or even to stand on their hind legs. Cats want no part in learning anything taught by a human for example: Dogs will come when called whereas cats will stare because they do not want to respond to directives.. Dogs are also social and enjoy interacting with people, they can also become very loyal to their owners but cats enjoy being alone and would rather lay around than learn to do anything. Dogs are ... Everybody has their Monday rituals, sometimes it's coffee or jogging through the park, but mine is a little out of the ordinary. Each day, my ritual begins at six in the morning with me walking my ten cats down Canal Street to Pet Central to buy cat food. I used to despise cats until I became their caretaker after a tragedy. This is my story about how I became the man on Canal Street with 10 felines. I remember going over to my Mom's apartment on that cold and soggy day in the middle of Fall. As I entered the house the foul smell of felines engulfed my nose and I began to sneeze all over my Mother's furniture. I yelled to the top of my lungs "I HATE CATS!" to which she scolded me and said "At least they keep me company unlike you" in a sarcastic voice. Then she went into the kitchen to retrieve the roast she had been preparing all day. The smell of the golden roast helped me forget the stench of her cats. As we ate she told me about her day and how she had bought a new cat, to which I replied in a frustrated tone, "You need to stop with all this cat stuff, I lost count after 7 and it can't be healthy for your breathing with all this dandruff and cat hair floating in the air" I stammered. • 26. Operation Eagle Claw Failure I am writing this paper to identify and analyze the historic failed mission of Operation: Eagle Claw. Operation Eagle Claw is a prime example of a failed mission due to lack of communication and sharing of knowledge between government agencies and military branches. This operation took five months to plan and took place on April 24, 1980. The mission was proceeded by an attack on the US Embassy in Tehran,Iran. This attack was made by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who was the leader of Iran at the time. After entering Iran the problems faced were a direct result of this lack of cohesion and sharing of intelligence. In my opinion this is the main reason that the mission failed, when you look at each of the problems faced during each phase of the mission you can point out a specific point where using available intelligence would have prevented or lessened these problems. An example of this is the weather issues that caused them to lose one helicopter and caused a change of the original flight plan in which they were not prepared for. It was brought up that particularly one pilot had experience in this region and effects of the weather, this key information would have helped in the planning and execution phases of the mission. During the evacuation many mistakes were made due to failure to plan for the need to abort the mission, this caused extreme chaos and loss of life. • 30. Consequences And Outline The Events Of Operation Eagle Claw Operation Eagle Claw SSG Ladd, Casey Operation Eagle Claw The purpose of this paper is to outline the events of Operation Eagle Claw (a rescue mission) the mistakes made, lessons learned, and alternate outcomes. Operation Eagle Claw was essentially doomed from the beginning. President Carter hastily authorized a Joint Forces operation which inevitably failed due to lack of understanding and training between the forces. There was no single point of failure for the mission; it was across the board, from training to planning, intelligence collection, and time. Planning November 4, 1979 was the day that led to a disastrous mission for the United States. On this day 52 Americans were taken hostage in the United States embassy in Tehran (Helicopter History Site 1997). The United States spent months trying to negotiate the release of the hostages, while formulating a rescue operation in the event negotiations failed. March 31st Recon elements went over to evaluate and establish a landing area that would accommodate EC–130's. The landing area, known as Desert One (figure 1), was a staging area in Khorasan Province Iran. Desert One, was equipped with remotely operated Infra–red lights and strobes to allow the pilots to see the improvised runway with night vision goggles. During the recon, soil samples were gathered to ensure the EC–130's would be able to land, at the time of the recon, the landing strip was hard packed sand (Helicopter History Site 1997). • 31. Regina In Tiger Claw In the novel the main character was taken from her normal life by the Indians. The main character is Regina, a girl who must go through many changes. Although there were many changes I, as the reader, selected two. One was when Regina was yelled at by Tiger Claw for speaking in her tongue and he told her she is an Indian now which Regina resents, but she understands most words and can speak the language as well. Also, when Regina and the Indian women are getting sap from a maple tree, Regina forgets what the white men called the trees. For example, in chapter seven, it states, "'Please, may I have more?' I ask, instantly regretting the white man's words, for Tiger Claw raises his hand, threatening me. 'No speak like white man! You are Indian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How could this agency impact your business? Find out as much about the agency as you can. Tell the group about it. I am in a group with Brenda, Courtney, and Maddy and our business that we chose is the pet grooming/ daycare business called Claws & Paws. While looking through the federal agencies list, I had a hard time trying to decide and agency or department that is applicable to the Claws & Paws business. This agency is concerned with breeding (importing or exporting) of animals. Though, we don't sell any animals we just take care of them. • 34. Operation Eagle Claw, And It Was A Failure November 4th 1979American personnel at the US embassy are taken hostage in Teheran, Iran. The United States had never faced a hostage situation like this before. It did not have the Joint Special Operations Task Force trained in planning the mission or the resources for low visibility clandestine missions. The mission to save the hostages is called Operation Eagle Claw, and it was a failure. This mission on the other hand highlighted areas in the military that need tobe improved, and when the country required to carry out special operation missions in the future those resources would be there and ready. Militant student, followers of the Ayatollah stormed the Embassy and took all personnel hostage. This was the second time in 1979 the embassy was taken and only a few people remained behind its gates. The students only planned to take the hostages for a few days, hopping that the United States would return the ousted Shah, to face trial. When the US refused, to return the Shah, the stalemate began, and the students held the hostages for 444 days. The US realized that the hostages are not being released as before, and a rescue mission was needed to secure their freedom. A group was quickly put together to plan the rescue. Dubbed Operation Rice Bowl, flag officers from every branch of the military, began to plan the mission and gather intelligence. The resulting failed rescue attempt, Operation Eagle Claw, was an international embarrassment for the United States. No single event or decision resulted in the mission's failure; instead, the failure resulted from a chain of poor decisions. This single operation highlighted the need for a dedicated special operations aviation unit dedicated to the rescue of American citizens and their repatriation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the sensitivity of the mission, the Department of Defense chose to bypass already established Joint Task Forces (JTF) that existed. Instead, an ad–hoc JTF was created specifically for Operation Eagle Claw. The newly created JTF encountered problems defining areas of responsibility and areas of focus. The JTF included three branches of the military in the operation the Navy, Army, and Air Force. The operation rehearsed for five months prior to its execution. The JTF never conducted a rehearsal during the five months. All elements conducted individual rehearsals only joining on the night of execution. Problems that were encountered on the night of Operation Eagle Claw were never identified prior which ultimately contributed to the failure of the mission. Due to OPSEC considerations, the rotary–wing aircraft chosen for Operation Eagle Claw was the RH–53. The RH–53, chosen solely because it looked "correct" on a United States Navy ship. The decision to choose the RH–53 significantly contributed to the mission failure at the desert–landing zone known as Desert One. The RH–53 was a poor choice for several reasons. First, the pilots chosen to fly the mission were United States Air Force pilots who were unfamiliar with the aircraft and its characteristics. Second, the RH–53 historically had a poor Operational Readiness (OR) rate as it suffered from significant maintenance issues making it unreliable. Third, the RH–53 had no inflight refueling ... And when people from Evansville ask where I live, I say 30 minutes north, in a tiny, off–the–map town called Haubstadt. The truth is, I don't live in Haubstadt either. My home is located in an unofficial town, a little place called Warrenton. Warrenton is a tiny "town" where everyone waves at each other. It consists of Warrenton Road, Old State Road, and its home base, Log Inn, is at the intersection. Straight down Warrenton road, past the truck stops and the expanding subdivisions, but before the campground, lies my humble abode. My house is a peninsula in a sea of fields. Our only neighbors are across the road, but we've always been friendly and stop to talk frequently. Our house in Warrenton is brick, with a large yard and a falling–apart, soon to be demolished old barn in the backyard. I spent a large chunk of my childhood in that barn, which had a special walk–in section for our cats. We've always had (and still do) too many barn cats. The original idea was that we would have a few wild cats to keep the barn mice–free, but I always tamed them and then they multiplied quickly. Each cat had a name, and they were an essential part to the Weiss household. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 39. Descriptive Essay On My Favorite Cat I hate cats, I dislike the way they smell or always want to cuddle and their claws. Everybody has their Monday rituals, sometimes it's coffee or jogging through the park, but mine is a little out of the ordinary. It starts at six in the morning with me walking my 10 cats down Canal Street all the way to Pet Central which is the best place in town to get cat food. I used to despise cats until a tragedy happened and they were put into my care. This is my story about how I became the man on Canal Street with 10 felines. I remember going over to my Mom's apartment on that cold and soggy day in the middle of Fall. Walking in the house the smell of felines struck my nose and I began to sneeze all over my Mothers furniture. I yelled at the top of my lungs "I HATE CATS!" to which she scolded me and replied, "At least they keep me company unlike you". Then she went into the kitchen to retrieve the roast she had been preparing all day. The smell of the golden roast helped me get over the smell of cats. As we ate she told me about her day and how she had bought a new cat to which I replied in a frustrated tone "You need to stop with all this cat stuff, I lost count after 7 and it can't be healthy for your breathing in all this dandruff and cat hair". She bypassed my remark, then blurted out "I invited you over because something happened today at the Doctors office" which puzzled me because usually I always take her to her appointments. She gulped a big drink of her wine and took a deep breath and stuttered "I–I–I have cancer honey", I stayed calm and assured her it would be alright, but that's when she said in her sweet, soft voice " I only have 2 weeks" sure enough two weeks had passed and I spent every day with her and her last request for me was that I take care of her cats. After she passed, I went and rounded up all the cats, I remember packing them all into my 2door sports car and as soon as the loud engine rumbled on they immediately went into a panic and dug their sharp claws into my leather seats. At that moment I considered taking them all to the local city shelter, but then a weird feeling came over me like I could feel Mom watching over me. When we arrived at my studio apartment they all seemed puzzled as to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lessons from Operation Eagle Claw The execution of military operations requires the application of certain fundamental principles, and tenets that have been the keystone of strategy development and conflict planning, since the appearance of organized forces. In addition to these tenets and principles, the military relies on the experience of front line leaders, and lessons learned to ensure operations evolve to focus on current and emerging threats. Currently, the United States military is waging wars on two fronts, Iraq and Afghanistan. To be successful, these operations require the coordinated efforts of all branches of service, Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. Getting the helicopters staged at Desert One proved more difficult than initially imagined. Even before the initial wave of the helicopters reached Desert One, the mission experienced a loss due to pilot unfamiliarity with the warning signals of the Navy helicopter. This incident reduced the available helicopters for the mission, from eight to seven. The weather dealt the mission its second blow. As the helicopters continued toward Desert One, they encountered severe sandstorms. The sandstorms proved difficult for the pilots. One pilot became disoriented and turned back, once again reducing the number of available helicopters, which now stood at six. Once the remaining six helicopters arrived at Desert One, the operation was ready to proceed. As aircraft and Delta Force operators were positioned in the final stages for execution, one of the final six helicopters experienced a hydraulic problem that caused the safety of the craft to be called into question. Ultimately, this malfunction issued the final blow to the troubled mission. After the order to abort was confirmed and evacuation initiated, as if to add insult to injury, the already failed mission received one final fatal blow. While repositioning for departure, one of the five remaining helicopters passed too closely to a parked C–130 cargo plane. The rotors of the helicopter clipped the C–130 and sparked an explosion that ultimately killed eight military members. It was later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Operation Eagle Claw On 24 April 1980's United States Special Operation forces , along with Joint Task Force 1–79 , led an operation to save 52 American hostages trapped inside Tehran,Iran known as Operation Eagle Claw. .The Operation was broken up into two phases. The first phase was to take place in Iran at a site called Desert One. Desert One was an Airstrip for USAF special operations to use to land aircraft such as the MC130, AC130H, and the RH53D. The MC130 was a fixed wing aircraft meant to transport ground forces, the C130H was a gunship for security, and the RH53D was a mine–sweeper and transported ground forces. The RH53D was flown by United States Marine Corps aviators from the carrier USS Nimitz. The plan was that these aircraft would fly under radar to Desert One, the men would offload at the site, The Helicopters would refuel and be concealed at Desert Two. The next night the American Forces would then extract the hostages, get to a soccer stadium where they would be picked up by RH53D mine sweeping helicopters.
