FIRE INTRODUCTION ABOUT FIRE
 What is fire?
Fire is basically a chemical reaction combining three
elements:
 Fuel
 Heat
 Oxygen
The Fire Triangle
Heat
Oxygen
O2
Combustible Material ( Fuel )
REMOVE
Heat
Oxygen O2
Either Fuel, Heat or the Oxygen…
then fire will be extinguished
Combustible Material ( Fuel )
THE FIRE TRIANGLE WILL BE
COLAPSED
Combustible
Material ( Fuel )
Heat
Oxygen
O2
The Fire will be Extinguished
EG:1
The Fire on the candle gose off when it is covered by
something
Why?
Because the OXYGEN is not
There. It means if one of the
element from the fire triangle is
removed the fire gose off.
TYPES OF FIRE
Class A – Normal Combustibles
Class B – Flammable Liquids
Class C – Electrical Circuits, Switch boards, Office
equipment
Class D – Combustible Metal such as Sodium, Potassium
& Magnesium
Class E – Class F/K – Cooking fats and oils
Classification / Types of Fire
Extinguished using Water, DCP
 Wood
 Cloth
 Paper
 Rubber
 Many Plastics
Extinguished using DCP & CO2
 Gas line
 Oil
 Grease
 Tar
 Oil-based paint
 Varnish
Classification / Types of Fire
Extinguished using CO2
 Energized electrical equipment
 Electrical Circuit
 Switch Boards
 Office equipment
Extinguished using Dry Powder & Sand
 Magnesium
 Sodium
 Potassium
 Other Flammable Metals
Classification / Types of Fire
Extinguished using Fire Blanket & CO2
 Fire involving combustible
vegtable or animal non-
saturated cooking fats in
commercial cooking
equipment.

MOCK EVACUATION DRILL
 The ERT conducts Evacuation
Drill regularly.
Please attend these Fire Drills.
 The use of Fire Extinguisher is
demonstrated to all staff at the
assembly point as part of the Fire
Safety Training / Drill
CENTER MEDICAL GAS SUPPLY
Area Alarm Panel monitors
various gas pressures ( O2 ,
N2O, Air 4 Bar, Air 7 Bar,
Vacuum ) of the area and
gives an alarm if detected
below or above set
pressures.
