Ci 350 assure method lesson plan
1. Holiday’s Around the World
A- To begin the lesson, students will watch 2 short
videos on the different types of holidays that
are celebrated in each continent. This video will
give a short example of a major holiday from
each country. Since there are students from
various religious backgrounds, it is important to
incorporate those.

S- My students will discover different holiday
traditions by discussion based on videos of
other holiday’s traditions, reading a book that
has children discussing the holidays (Children
Just Like Me; Celebration), bringing in three
holidays/ festivals to share with the class,
incorporating traditions into art lessons by
making crafts for a holiday/ festival that is in
the week we begin, making a class calendar
with the holidays/ festivals we find, illustrating
postcards with a scene representing a holiday
they found interesting and then creating a short
presentation on that holiday the end of the 2
month with a 95% accuracy.
S- The technology that will be used throughout
this lesson will be the television, computers,
2. and overhead projectors. Students will also
receive a blank postcard that will be used for
them to create a scene from the holiday that
they choose.
U- Prep time will be given to the students before
presentations to make sure everything is
working properly. The video will be on before
the class enters on the first day of this lesson.
R- There will be many opportunities for students to
become involved in classroom participation. The
post cards will allow students to really analyze
the holiday/ festival characteristics so they can
illustrate it properly. Throughout the year, there
will be discussions and hands on activities that
correlate with the calendar. In those activities
we will try/ discuss the food, making more
crafts, and then having a lesson that integrates
that holiday.
E- Evaluations will be made through observing
group discussions, making the class calendar,
the scene drawn on the postcard, and the
material in their short presentation of the
holiday they find interesting.
