2. When researching my target audience, and interviewing students around me; I took
particular attention to what features and conventions they would prefer on a
magazine. For example, when questioned about the house style, they replied with
bright, contrasting colours. My final design includes the contrast of black to brights,
after considering their feedback. When asked about the mode of address, the
answers I received were informal, chilled and relaxed. I portrayed this idea on my
front cover by using informal language, and using images of laid-back, ‘chilled’
students.
The puff on my magazine attracts the target audience in a large way, as most students
in the 21st century spend their summers going to at least one popular festival, as a
break from student life. The price of festival tickets these days does not come cheap,
so if a student spots the chance to win some for free, this can implore the target
audience to buy.
