Implementation of BYOD and BYOT

I am employed by the Laurens County Board of Education (LCBOE). The LCBOE does
not currently have a BYOD/BYOT implementation plan. I selected a neighboring
county, Screven, for the purposes of this assignment.

4. • Chrome apps run in their own window. They are
installed locally and run offline.
• Screven County Schools use Chromebooks so it would
make the most sense to use Google Chrome Apps.
• Google provides a Chrome App Launcher that gives
quick access to Chrome apps.
• Google Chrome does not crash and is really fast.
• Google gives your more control over tabs and makes
searching simpler.
• Google Chrome is district wide and connected to other
users in Screven County Schools.

5. All students at Screven
County Elementary have
access to technology. In
grades 3-5, we have a
one-to-one ratio for
Chromebooks. Grades K-
2 also have a set of 6
Chromebooks and 6
Netbooks in each
classroom as well as
student desktops.
Students who are not
able to participate in
BYOT will have plenty of
technology resources at
their hands reach.

6. Student Grouping
Students will be grouped according to their
ability levels as well as assignments and the
technology required.
