Tiny Homes Advantages And Disadvantages
A Tiny Home is a house which is less than 300 400 square feet in size. Most of the Tiny Homes are
only 200 square feet and they serve the purpose of providing comfort and safety quite well. This is the
planning stage, when you must think of every significant thing or you might spend massive amounts
of time rethinking your decisions.
The idea is to think tiny. When you begin, you must understand what you need to carry out and to do
that, you must know why Tiny Homes are so good for you. It helps you to plan your Tiny Home and
make a list of things you want to do in it and the kind of items that are indispensable to your lifestyle.
The main things that you should think about are the advantages, the utility aspect, expenses, and
having your own solar panel grid for power for your house. The advantages are self explanatory. The
utility factor includes simplicity, expense and minimalistic living. The solar power grid will need some
figuring out from your side. You can read about how to make calculations in the coming chapters.
Using solar power will cut costs and give you the mobility you need.
Advantages of a Tiny Home
● First, there is no wastage of space. Everything is within reach.
● Next, you do not spend much, either on the building or for maintaining the Tiny Home.
● When you begin to think small, your cost comes down.
● The Tiny Homes are environmentally friendly since you will naturally produce less waste.
● Life becomes simpler. o You cannot hang on to your shoe

Essay On Victim Offender Mediation
Out of the three programs in restorative justice, victim offender mediation is one of the first programs
to be introduced towards making amends in restorative justice. The victim offender mediation process
according to Ness and Strong (2015), originated in Canada in 1974, as two inebriated young men who
were in their teens, pleaded guilty to destroying the property of twenty two people. In the preparation
of the judge s report, a probation officer, by the name of Mark Yantzi and a volunteer of the
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Dave Worth, came into a mutual agreement that neither prison
nor probation would have the positive effects of justice as having the offenders meet their victims face
to face and hear the impact their crime caused. They are given the chance to apologize for
wrongdoings, and pay back their restitutions. Though the deciding judge was hesitant at first to accept
the proposal, he eventually went forward with the conditions, which led to the continued use of the
process due to its positive results in holding offender accountability that regular punishment failed to
provide. The process overall helped offenders understand the harm they inflicted towards their
victims, and required them to pay off their debts in a responsible manner (Ness Strong, pg. 27).
The process later continued to gain awareness throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a community ( Amends, 2015). The victim offender mediation process includes all four; apology can

change can follow as offenders agree to change their environment to satisfy an agreement; restitution

In this research paper It will be discussing the true meaning of the word hero being diluted in today s

Harriet Beecher Stowe And His Family Essay
During the 1800s slavery was common. Although, many people thought it was wrong and sinful, some
actually did not mind the practice. Harriet Beecher Stowe and her family were one of many who were
activists in the anti slavery movement. She was born in Litchfield, Connecticut on June 14, 1811. Her
father, Lyman Beecher, was a Calvinist preacher, and her mother, Roxana Foote, died when she was
four. When Stowe was 25 years old, she married Calvin Ellis Stowe, who was also against slavery and
a well known minister. Stowe s sister, Isabella Beecher Hooker, was an advocate for women s rights.
Another of her sisters, Catherine, founded a school to offer education for young women. Uncle Tom s
Cabin is about the life of Tom, an african slave, who was sold to a trader because of the debt owed by
his master. He was being moved to the South where he would begin his life like he has never done.
Slavery has always been a sorrowful topic, so when we were given the years between 1492 to 1870, it
came to mind right away. Google gave a handful of books to read, but only this mysterious title stroke
curiosity.
The book started off with a conversation between two men, Mr. Shelby, a farmer, and Mr. Haley, who
is a trader. They were discussing the conduct of their slaves. Mr. Shelby had a plethora of positive
things to say about his slaves because he was a very nice person. Mr. Haley on the other hand, was
very negative and did not trust any slave. Shelby spoke about this one particular slave

Sliding New Windows Research Paper
Need New Windows? 3 Reasons To Consider Sliding Windows
When the time comes to purchase new windows, the amount of options to pick from may feel
overwhelming. Not only do you need to select the windows material, but there are different styles of
windows as well. One style that you may not have thought of before are horizontal sliding windows.
Consider these 3 reasons for buying them.
Sliding Windows Are Durable
Traditional double hung windows have various moving parts, many of them being necessary to keep
the window filly functioning. There are pulleys and springs that help them resist gravity and stay open
when in use, which can cause the window to wear down over time and potential stop performing as
they were intended.

Essay On Treasure Fleets
My favorite scholarly pursuit to date is in a category of its own, combining most of the examples in
the given prompt. It began roughly three years ago when I first read about the Spanish treasure fleets
of the early 1700s in one of my history books. The subject was just barely brushed upon, but it was
enough to spark my curiosity on the topic and I decided to look up more information. After reading
several books and individual articles, I focused my intended research on a single fleet: the 1715
treasure fleet. Consisting of eleven ships, the 1715 fleet had been laden with gold, fine china, and
other valuables. Spain was in desperate need of funds due to the War of Succession, so the large
treasure fleet was not an uncommon sight. In what could be considered an either brave or
spectacularly stupid move, the commander decided to remain in Havana, Cuba, ... Show more content

After even more digging, I also found a possible link to the infamous pirate Samuel Bellamy, who had
attempted to find the San Miguel not long before his turn to piracy. I believe even now that the ship

however, is still searching the Nassau Sound. I cannot put enough emphasis on just how much this
pursuit sharpened my research skills and expanded my interest in both the environment and history.
One bit of information led to another, and I learned more from this research than I probably would
have in a normal high school classroom setting. Many of the things I learned will actually apply
directly to my major in environmental science as well, which makes all of that research even more
valuable to me. The fact that I had a lot of fun in the process just makes it even

Dispute between Japan and China
A dispute over islands in the East China Sea has inflamed relations between Japan and China for the
last two years but they were tense even before. So I think in order to have a better understanding of
why Sino Japanese relation is that much tense all the time, we need to know the background that is
history of two countries. I will start from the second Sino Japanese War because it was the largest
Asian War and the most devastating War for the Republic of China. The Nanking Massacre, also
known as the rape of Nanking, was a mass murder and mass rape committed by Japanese troops
against Nanking during the Second Sino Japanese War, which also happened during the World War
Two. The massacre started from December 13, 1937 and it lasted six weeks. During this period, tens
of thousands of Chinese civilians and disarmed combatants were murdered by soldiers of the Imperial
Japanese Army. And widespread rape and looting also occurred. There is not an accurate estimation of
the death roll in the massacre, because most of Japanese military records on the killings were
destroyed or kept secret for some reasons. Chang who published her book The Rape of Nanking: The
Forgotten Holocaust of World War II, wrote of the death toll estimates given by different sources;
Chinese military specialist Liu Fang chu proposed a figure of 430,000, officials at the Nanjing
Massacre Memorial Hall and the procurator of the District Court of Nanjing in 1946 stated at least
300,000 were killed,

Streaming And The Future Of The Music Industry
Streaming The Future of The Music Industry The dawn of the internet brought forth a revolution that,
by now, has seeped its way in the the very fibers of almost every human experience. Education has
changed. Communication has changed. Entertainment has changed. Business has changed. Entire
industries have been built, and destroyed, by the information age. The music industry, in particular,
has felt both. With precursors of the Compact Disc (CD) and digital music formats, Shawn Fanning
single handedly eviscerated the music industry. Napster, his peer to peer mass file sharing service, is
what landed the fatal blow, and the industry has been bleeding out since.

Streaming has obvious limitations though. Access to the network that sends the information is
required. This is usually achieved by a connection to the internet. The strength of the connection
drastically affects the quality of the stream. This entire process can be understood through viewing a
video on YouTube, arguably the most popular video streaming service of all time. YouTube hosts a
video that is saved to its server through its website. To view it, you must connect to the YouTube
website through the internet. There you can view the video without having to download and store it on
your device. This idea is similar to that of radio and television broadcasting where streaming uses the
internet as its medium for travel instead of radio or electromagnetic waves.
Most would associate the beginnings of media streaming with the back half of the 2000s, which is
when it first amassed global popularity. Surprisingly, the idea to stream media through the internet had
been floating around computer and entertainment industries since the 1990s. Even the current model
for subscription based music streaming services had been presented previously. MusicNet was the
brainchild of RealNetworks and the major record labels. It was their

floor the underlying message provided by the facilitators is considerably complex. The Atkins Library,

advanced appliances, the wide variety of seating arrangements, and the alarm systems, scattered
across the ceiling.
The Atkins Library gives the impression of being intellectually rewarding, as perceived on the ground

There are various ways in which this message is conveyed, namely in the form of posters. There are
two posters one of which can be found at the immediate north entrance of the library and the other in
the general vicinity of Peete s Coffee; informing students of Upcoming Workshops. Librarians
regularly hold these workshops to aid scholars in researching topics, whether it be for a social science

Essay about Bach s Life and Music
Bach s Life and Music He was a musical genius with thousands of musical compositions written in his
lifetime. He spent his life in Germany, primarily Leipzig, and worked at a school for the city. He is
considered to be one of the greatest musical composers, and composed till the day he died. An unruly
youth who greatly disliked authority, he had a strong will and mind of his own. Well liked with many
friends, yet no one really knew his inner workings, or how he thought. Of the thousands of musical
pieces he composed, few were published in his life. This was a man who composed in great numbers,
had reasons for doing so, and lived a rather simple, middle class life. Johann Sebastian Bach (J.S.) was

He was now looking for a job. He wanted the post as organist of Arnstadt where a new organ was

However, problems arose when Bach composed a piece full of strange new sounds for a church
service. The Council decided to be lenient with him until he refused to work with the boys choir and
was found to have a complaint against him for entertaining a young woman in the organ loft of the
church. Thus was the end of his first job. He moved on to Muhlhausen and married his cousin Maria
Barbara on October 17, 1707. He got a job in Muhlhausen and set to work on the poor facilities he had
to work with there. His efforts here brought about his first cantata Gott ist Mein Konig (God is My

desire for publicity and prestige. A religious controversy soon arose and the music in Muhlhausen was
in a state of decay. Bach.was off to find another job. On June 25, 1708, the Duke of Weimar offered
Bach a post among the Duke s Court chamber musicians. Bach and his wife moved to the small town
of Weimar. While in Weimar Bach composed music exclusively for the organ, which he played. By
1714 Bach had moved up in status and was now the leader in the orchestra, second only to the old

Since World War II, Italian society has profoundly changed, with a significant impact on daily life.
One of the main elements of change is the more visible role women play in society outside the home,
such as increased participation in higher education and various professions. One aspect of this
changed role is that Italy records one of the lowest average numbers of children per woman in the
world, as well as some of the lowest birth and fertility rates. (Brittanica Online Encyclopedia)

Essay About Obama Failure
Successes and Failures of the Obama Presidency Leaders are often credited with the success of the
country under their administration, as well as blamed for failures during their time in power. To say
that the successes and failures of the Obama administration are solely a reflection of him and his
decisions alone would make little sense. There are several different factors that could hinder him from
making decisions, or aid him in making decisions and getting policies passed. The environment as
well as his opponent in 2012, Mitt Romney, are two factors that have impacted outcomes for the
President in the past. A leader will struggle more in a hostile environment, and if the opposition is

The American people were displeased with the way that his first term had unfolded, and they were
unhappy that the promises the President made to the country were not kept. Romney was a fresh face,
who had a lengthy political background, and who, according to the Washington Post, would have won
the election, had it just been held a little later. According to the Post, the hypothetical eight point shift
in the popular vote that Romney had acquired according to poll of registered voters would have
allowed him to win the election by virtually the same margin that Obama had actually won by (Blake
1). Obama s failure to deliver on his promises caused a handful, about 1 in 5, of his previous
supporters to put their trust in Romney instead of him, and this newfound trust in his opponent planted
the seed of doubt in the public s mind about the President s abilities to deliver on his previous claims
that he had made to get elected (What if Mitt Romney had Won?). However, Romney has also been a
positive attribute in Obama s presidency. Obamacare was closely modeled, ironically, after Mitt
Romney s healthcare plan that he enacted whilst Governor of Massachusetts (The Choice 2012). Even

Sympathy And The Boston Massacre
Points of views are majorly impacted by different words, actions and even locations. This is important
in order to understand all the sides of a story. Meaning, that on March 5th, 1770, when colonists and
soldiers gathered on King s street, America and Britain went to the media to present their perspectives
of the tragic event. The statements, that were similar, are as follows: the colonists used snowballs as
weapons, there was profanity from both soldiers and colonists, and lastly, around 11 soldiers were

What Can Stop Kids From Dropping Out By David L. Kirp
David L. Kirp, a professor of public policy at the University of California, Berkeley, wrote a New
York Times article in April 2016 regarding one of America s leading problems. The purpose of this
final essay is to summarize the article, critique it, analyze the article using the definition of successful
intelligence as the analytical tool, and finally conclude by answering the so what question. Kirp s
article entitled, What Can Stop Kids from Dropping Out, begins by citing some startling statistics; the
number of college dropouts is severely damaging our economic system. According to the article, and
an American Institute for Research, $4.5 billion is being lost in earnings and taxes nationwide due to
this issue. The article goes on to explain how this is not just a problem, but how it is a scandal.
Colleges are blaming high schools for the number of students whom arrive at college and quickly drop
out. Kirp explains that it isn t the high school s fault. Colleges don t provide enough academic
feedback, financial assistance, or personalized attention for their students. Georgia State is looking to
solve the issue at their own school. They have taken steps to reach out to students as soon as they start
to lose interest in their studies. They hire upperclassmen as tutors; they know that students are more
likely to go to their peers for help rather than professors. Georgia State provides small grants for
students who need the extra few hundred dollars

Short Essay On The Island Of The Sea
The smell of the salty sea air greeted Harry when he walked the deck of his ship. He watched the
seagulls flying overhead with a small smile. He wore motley drawers tucked into his leather day
boots. With his red hip sash tied around his waist, and his bandanna on his head he set to work. He had
to keep the ship ruining by himself, due to being a one man crew. With ease born from repeated
routine, Harry climbed the rigging rope up the mast to check on the sails. Hades was a two masted
vessel, square rigged on both masts. She was an old style ship but Hades only ten year older than
Harry.
The upper sails were intact, as were the mid level sails. Harry swung himself to the lower level sails
with a grin before dropping to the deck. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sailing near the Nymphs waters meant the weather would change based on the whims of the Nymph
Clan. Most sailors didn t know how the Nymphs whims changed, but Harry knew.
The wind beat against the sails, picking up speed, as clouds that had not been in the sky before formed
overhead. Harry rode the harsh winds closer into the Nostra region. Then he secured the ropes and
dropped anchor. Satisfied his ship wouldn t drift off without him, Harry took off his boots and hid his
guns in them. He climbed onto the railing of his ship and hummed Loreley s shanty.

Harry pulled a bead that stored a bubbled head charm from his hair and tossed into his mouth. He

Harry swam to the Nymph village. The seaweed and underwater dwellings singing to his senses with
their potent magic.
The lively energy of a young Nymph drew he s attention as she swam at speed out of the village.
Harry grinned at the familiar lass. With her golden eyes she was much the same as she had been the
last time Harry had seen her. She even had her magic foucs with her. The green seashell she held in
her hand allowed her to blend her magic with the magic of the wind and sea.
Ahoy there, Loreley! Harry said. Ye called fo me?

Cause And Effect Of Smartphone Technology
Imagine; it is 1989 and the only kind of portable phone in existence is a flip phone, which only the
wealthy can afford. Flash Forward twenty eight years and there are four different brands of
smartphones, with over forty versions all together. There are endless options to transfer information
from one person to another, and millions of applications that can be downloaded. Since the early
2000s, smartphone technology has been rapidly changing at a rate that can not be slowed down. The
successful advance in this technology has done more harm than good. The cause of smartphone
technology become better has had many effects such as; creating antisocial people, more bullying,
people not using natural intelligence, and overall they are taking over people s lives. Smartphones do
not only distract us from interacting with those who are physically with us. They also give people the
need to feel as though they do not need to take part in pro social behavior. With the advance spread of
mobile technology, it is rather easy for individuals to remain in constant contact with their social
networks online. A recent Pew Research survey of adults in the U.S. found that 71% use Facebook at
least occasionally, and 45% of Facebook users check the site several times a day (Wall Street Journal
2017). People are spending too much time maintaining frivolous connections online, and not taking
enough time to pursue deeper real life relationships. When walking into a coffee shop or a restaurant,

How Does Julius Lester Use Of Situational Irony
In the story Brer Rabbit and Brer Lion Julius Lester uses several forms of situational irony and comic
language. An example of situational irony in this story is when the little Brer Rabbit manages to tie
Brer Lion to a tree, capturing him. An example of comic language is what is said in the story once the
animals find out what Brer Rabbit had done. When the animals saw what Brer Rabbit had done to Brer
Lion, you d better believe it was the forty eleventh of Octorerarry before they messed with him again.
In this story the smaller animal outsmarts the bigger and stronger animal.

Charles Darwin s Theory Of Natural Selection
Charles Darwin Charles Darwin is a naturalist who was an important person to genetics. Darwin was
born on February 12, 1809. He created the Theory of Natural Selection and the Theory of Evolution.
He discovered how animals evolved in the past. Charles Darwin was one of the scientists who found
out about natural selection and evolution.
Early Life
Charles Darwin was the second youngest of his father s (R.W. Darwin s) children. He had his dad and
his mom but unfortunately died when he was 8 years old. His dad wanted his son to become a doctor,
but the sight of any blood Darwin sees, he gets queasy. Darwin still wanted to be a naturalist though. I

Simpson et al. found that participants in existing relationships rated people of the opposite sex as less
attractive than participants not in relationships. This suggests that people judge prospects of new
alternative relationships as less profitable if they are already in a committed relationship. The CLA
may provide an explanation as to why many women choose to stay in abusive relationships. If
investments in the relationship are high (e.g. children, financial security) amp; alternative prospects
are bleak (e.g. poverty, homelessness), then a woman may see staying in the abusive relationship to be
more profitable than leaving it. Blau (1977) argued that interactions are expensive , as they take time,
energy and commitment and may involve unpleasant emotions and experiences. Therefore what we
get out of a relationship must exceed what goes in. Rusbult found that costs and rewards from a
relationship were weighed up in comparison to possible alternative relationships when deciding
whether they should be maintained which supports that social exchange models idea that people assess
rewards by making comparisons. Walster et al believed that social interactions involve an exchange of
rewards, like affection, information, status. The degree of attraction or liking reflects how people
evaluate the rewards they receive in relative to those given. Costs of being in a relationship may be
effort, money spent, time spent, or low self esteem, whilst the rewards may be pleasure,

Synthesis Of Pnitroaniline From Aniline Essay
This experiment takes a longer time then other experiments, taking approximately three weeks to
complete. It involves a three step synthesis to make pnitroaniline from aniline and then we will be
characterizing our product using the new and useful technique of thin layer chromatography (TLC).
We will not be doing the first part of this experiment only parts two and three.
Electrophiles are reagents which are attracted to other electrons and in order to bond to nucleophiles,
they accept electron pairs. Electrophiles attack benzene and this results in hydrogen substitution.
Nonetheless, this isn t thermodynamically favoured due to a sp3 hybridized carbon being generated.
This disrupts the cyclic conjugation. In order for the aromatic ring to be regenerated, a proton will be
lost at the sp3 hybridized carbon. This means pnitroaniline can be prepared by electrophilic aromatic
substitution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acetyl groups are electron withdrawing. This reduces the activity of the lone pair on the nitrogen
either in a protonation reaction or an oxidation reaction. The conditions required for nitration are
extremely acidic. Protonation of the nitrogen of aniline causes it to become a very strong deactivating
group.
In the second part of the experiment, we will be performing the nitration of Acetanilide. We will first
need to form the nitronium ion in situ by the dehydration of the nitric acid. The dehydrating agent for
this experiment is sulphuric acid. The nitronium ion is an extremely strong and powerful electrophile
which reacts with π electrons involved with the aromatic ring of

Chickamauga: The Battle of all Battles
The child is often looked passed in today s world. There is no room for foolish childish
behavior in the adult world. Children are protected from traumatizing events to protect the
children s inner thoughts and emotions. Through Chickamauga , Bierce demonstrates how a
war can strip a young boy of his innocence.
Chickamauga uses many symbols to display the innocence of a child. As the boy plays
with a wooden sword, he does not realize how deadly the weapon he possesses is. ...and the boy
had understood enough to make himself a wooden sword, though even the eye of his father
would hardly have known it for what it was (Bierce). Death and taking one s life to many is a

Benjamin David Batzer asks an important question in
his journal, The Antics of Pretend Play: Tom Sawyer s Narrative(s) of Empowerment. Batzer s
main question in this journal is, What is the childs purpose in the adult world? This world,
created and sustained by adults, is both oppressive and traumatizing for the children who must
function within its confines (Batzer). This idea is demonstrated perfectly in Chickamauga . The
boy does not know what to do when he finds the men maimed by war. This experience is
traumatizing to the child. This shows that the boy is not mature enough to assess the situation at
hand. The wounds that these people bore were also hard for the child to imagine. then turned
upon him a face that lacked a lower jaw from the upper teeth to the throat was a great red gap
fringed with hanging shreds of flesh and splinters of bone (Bierce). Having these kinds of
experiences gives the child some knowledge of what game he has actually been playing.

time that he was in service he got word of an attack at the local village of Chickamauga,

The Relationship between Oliver Twist and the Industrial...
Ernst Fischer, a renowned Austrian artist of the 19th century once said that, In a decaying society, art,
if it is truthful, must also reflect decay. And unless it wants to break faith with its social function, art
must show the world as changeable. And help to change it for the better. Over the many years since
the publishing of Charles Dickens s Oliver Twist in 1838, many have come to know it as not only art
but also as an account of the social and economic problems of the industrial revolution. Along with his
other works, he would eventually inspire others to put an end to child labour, one the most horrific
examples of human exploitation that went on in the industrial revolution. Oliver Twist addresses three
major themes of the 19th ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This passage praises the purity and health of the rural environment and claims outright that even a
lifelong city dweller has in his blood a chance to better himself and society as a whole.
Who can describe the pleasure and delight, the peace of mind and soft tranquility, the sickly boy felt in
the balmy air and among the green hills and rich woods of an inland village! Who can tell how scenes
of peace and quietude sink into the minds of pain worn dwellers in close and noisy places, and carry
their own freshness deep into their jaded hearts! Men who have lived in crowded, pent up streets,
through lives of toil, and who have never wished for change men to whom custom has indeed been
second nature, and who have come almost to love each brick and stone that formed the narrow
boundaries of their daily walks even they, with the hand of death upon them, have been known to
yearn at last for one short glimpse of Nature s face, and, carried far from the scenes of their old pains
and pleasures, have seemed to pass at once into a new state of being.
Dickens goes on to note that, in the country, even the poor people are neat and clean. The immorality
and starvation that characterize urban poverty are not present in rural England. Although this maybe a
product of wishful thinking and the ideals of a utopian society, it does show the reader a sense of hope
for the future.
With the Industrial Revolution came about an unprecedented amount of

Major Key Roles Of Social Media In The 21st Century
Social Media plays a huge and major key role with our lives as human beings in this day and age of
the 21st century. The role that social media plays is that millions of people could connect and meet all
over the world on one website or one app to meet others of the same interest, and other topics that they
enjoy or love such as video games, reading, board games, mathematics, etc. . Horrifically, over the
years criticism began on the dawn of social media has caused a spread of rumors, fear, and disgust into
these social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, parents worry about
their children s protection and fear that one wrong post could spell disaster for the family of the child.
Families have proposed that adult link protection should be linked onto children s social media to
watch them to make sure that they don t look or do mischievous or horrific acts to other older or of the
same age, but i believe that with this thesis and action of choices, we could make the internet a safer
and child friendly place or all. Three ideas that could help with supporting my thesis is 1. Sort social
media by age groups and types of cultures, 2. Have people not be able to post their location or address
without extensive security question and material, and 3 make usernames and passwords for social
media websites more secure, and to protect people s valuable information from criminals. My First

Calcaneal Apohystis
An update on Calcaneal Apophysitis (Sever s disease)
Often children between the ages of eight and thirteen attend the podiatry clinic with heel pain. One
differential diagnosis is calcaneal apophysitis or otherwise known as sever s disease. Calcaneal
apophysitis is the inflammation of a calcaneal growth plate causing pain in the heel posteriorly, it is
classified as a non articular Osteochondrosis at an impact site (O Gradaigh Crisp, 2012).
The calcaneus in a child under sixteen years contains a growth plate posteriorly. This is the section
where the Achilles tendon inserts on the calcaneus. Around sixteen years of age, the growth plate
ossifies onto the calcaneum. Sever s disease is the disturbance or micro trauma in ... Show more

It is important to note that the condition may be present bilaterally.
Diagnosis is determined on history and clinical symptoms (Goel Watt, 2002). As X rays will show the
growth plate, the ossification pattern of the calcaneal apophysis varies between patients. Therefore x
rays should not be the only diagnostic tool. It is important to discover if there is calcaneal trauma in
the medical history. Pain at the Achilles tendon insertion of the calcaneus and the elimination of
differential diagnoses such as Achilles tendinosis, stress fractures, tumor, bone fusion and
osteomyelitis usually produce a provisional diagnosis of calcaneal apophysis.
The main pain management strategy consists of conservative measures by restricting the child s
physical activity and reducing the tension stress of the tendon Achilles from repetitive trauma. It also
depends on the severity of the condition and the willingness for the child to restrict activities.
Immediate relief may be achieved through the application of ice, both when painful and after pain has
ceased. Compression and elevation can also be incorporated into the acute management strategy.
It is advisable for the affected foot to be assessed for forefoot/ hindfoot malalignment as it may cause
added stress to the insertion of the tendon Achilles (Goel Watt, 2002). Reducing the traction that may
be caused by the tight

Essay On Victim Offender Mediation Out of the three programs in restorative justice, victim offender mediation is one of the first programs to be introduced towards making amends in restorative justice. The victim offender mediation process according to Ness and Strong (2015), originated in Canada in 1974, as two inebriated young men who were in their teens, pleaded guilty to destroying the property of twenty two people. In the preparation of the judge s report, a probation officer, by the name of Mark Yantzi and a volunteer of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Dave Worth, came into a mutual agreement that neither prison nor probation would have the positive effects of justice as having the offenders meet their victims face to face and hear the impact their crime caused. They are given the chance to apologize for wrongdoings, and pay back their restitutions. Though the deciding judge was hesitant at first to accept the proposal, he eventually went forward with the conditions, which led to the continued use of the process due to its positive results in holding offender accountability that regular punishment failed to provide. The process overall helped offenders understand the harm they inflicted towards their victims, and required them to pay off their debts in a responsible manner (Ness Strong, pg. 27). • 11. Essay On Treasure Fleets My favorite scholarly pursuit to date is in a category of its own, combining most of the examples in the given prompt. It began roughly three years ago when I first read about the Spanish treasure fleets of the early 1700s in one of my history books. The subject was just barely brushed upon, but it was enough to spark my curiosity on the topic and I decided to look up more information. After reading several books and individual articles, I focused my intended research on a single fleet: the 1715 treasure fleet. Consisting of eleven ships, the 1715 fleet had been laden with gold, fine china, and other valuables. Spain was in desperate need of funds due to the War of Succession, so the large treasure fleet was not an uncommon sight. In what could be considered an either brave or spectacularly stupid move, the commander decided to remain in Havana, Cuba, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I cannot put enough emphasis on just how much this pursuit sharpened my research skills and expanded my interest in both the environment and history. One bit of information led to another, and I learned more from this research than I probably would have in a normal high school classroom setting. Many of the things I learned will actually apply directly to my major in environmental science as well, which makes all of that research even more valuable to me. • 12. Dispute between Japan and China A dispute over islands in the East China Sea has inflamed relations between Japan and China for the last two years but they were tense even before. So I think in order to have a better understanding of why Sino Japanese relation is that much tense all the time, we need to know the background that is history of two countries. I will start from the second Sino Japanese War because it was the largest Asian War and the most devastating War for the Republic of China. The Nanking Massacre, also known as the rape of Nanking, was a mass murder and mass rape committed by Japanese troops against Nanking during the Second Sino Japanese War, which also happened during the World War Two. The massacre started from December 13, 1937 and it lasted six weeks. During this period, tens of thousands of Chinese civilians and disarmed combatants were murdered by soldiers of the Imperial Japanese Army. And widespread rape and looting also occurred. There is not an accurate estimation of the death roll in the massacre, because most of Japanese military records on the killings were destroyed or kept secret for some reasons. Chang who published her book The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II, wrote of the death toll estimates given by different sources; Chinese military specialist Liu Fang chu proposed a figure of 430,000, officials at the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall and the procurator of the District Court of Nanjing in 1946 stated at least 300,000 were killed, ... YouTube hosts a video that is saved to its server through its website. To view it, you must connect to the YouTube website through the internet. There you can view the video without having to download and store it on your device. This idea is similar to that of radio and television broadcasting where streaming uses the internet as its medium for travel instead of radio or electromagnetic waves. Most would associate the beginnings of media streaming with the back half of the 2000s, which is when it first amassed global popularity. Surprisingly, the idea to stream media through the internet had been floating around computer and entertainment industries since the 1990s. Even the current model for subscription based music streaming services had been presented previously. MusicNet was the brainchild of RealNetworks and the major record labels. It was their ... • 16. Essay about Bach s Life and Music Bach s Life and Music He was a musical genius with thousands of musical compositions written in his lifetime. He spent his life in Germany, primarily Leipzig, and worked at a school for the city. He is considered to be one of the greatest musical composers, and composed till the day he died. An unruly youth who greatly disliked authority, he had a strong will and mind of his own. Well liked with many friends, yet no one really knew his inner workings, or how he thought. Of the thousands of musical pieces he composed, few were published in his life. This was a man who composed in great numbers, had reasons for doing so, and lived a rather simple, middle class life. He wanted the post as organist of Arnstadt where a new organ was being built. After a short period as a violinist in Weimar he was indeed offered the post in Arnstadt. However, problems arose when Bach composed a piece full of strange new sounds for a church service. The Council decided to be lenient with him until he refused to work with the boys choir and was found to have a complaint against him for entertaining a young woman in the organ loft of the church. Thus was the end of his first job. He moved on to Muhlhausen and married his cousin Maria Barbara on October 17, 1707. He got a job in Muhlhausen and set to work on the poor facilities he had to work with there. His efforts here brought about his first cantata Gott ist Mein Konig (God is My King), the only one of his cantatas to be published in his life time. This was thanks to the Council s desire for publicity and prestige. A religious controversy soon arose and the music in Muhlhausen was in a state of decay. Bach.was off to find another job. On June 25, 1708, the Duke of Weimar offered Bach a post among the Duke s Court chamber musicians. Bach and his wife moved to the small town of Weimar. There are several different factors that could hinder him from making decisions, or aid him in making decisions and getting policies passed. According to the Post, the hypothetical eight point shift in the popular vote that Romney had acquired according to poll of registered voters would have allowed him to win the election by virtually the same margin that Obama had actually won by (Blake 1). Obama s failure to deliver on his promises caused a handful, about 1 in 5, of his previous supporters to put their trust in Romney instead of him, and this newfound trust in his opponent planted the seed of doubt in the public s mind about the President s abilities to deliver on his previous claims that he had made to get elected (What if Mitt Romney had Won?). Simpson et al. found that participants in existing relationships rated people of the opposite sex as less attractive than participants not in relationships. This suggests that people judge prospects of new alternative relationships as less profitable if they are already in a committed relationship. The CLA may provide an explanation as to why many women choose to stay in abusive relationships. If investments in the relationship are high (e.g. children, financial security) amp; alternative prospects are bleak (e.g. poverty, homelessness), then a woman may see staying in the abusive relationship to be more profitable than leaving it. Blau (1977) argued that interactions are expensive , as they take time, energy and commitment and may involve unpleasant emotions and experiences. Therefore what we get out of a relationship must exceed what goes in. Rusbult found that costs and rewards from a relationship were weighed up in comparison to possible alternative relationships when deciding whether they should be maintained which supports that social exchange models idea that people assess rewards by making comparisons. Walster et al believed that social interactions involve an exchange of rewards, like affection, information, status. We will not be doing the first part of this experiment only parts two and three. Electrophiles are reagents which are attracted to other electrons and in order to bond to nucleophiles, they accept electron pairs. Electrophiles attack benzene and this results in hydrogen substitution. Nonetheless, this isn t thermodynamically favoured due to a sp3 hybridized carbon being generated. This disrupts the cyclic conjugation. In order for the aromatic ring to be regenerated, a proton will be lost at the sp3 hybridized carbon. Who can tell how scenes of peace and quietude sink into the minds of pain worn dwellers in close and noisy places, and carry their own freshness deep into their jaded hearts! • 42. Calcaneal Apohystis An update on Calcaneal Apophysitis (Sever s disease) Often children between the ages of eight and thirteen attend the podiatry clinic with heel pain. One differential diagnosis is calcaneal apophysitis or otherwise known as sever s disease. Calcaneal apophysitis is the inflammation of a calcaneal growth plate causing pain in the heel posteriorly, it is classified as a non articular Osteochondrosis at an impact site (O Gradaigh Crisp, 2012). The calcaneus in a child under sixteen years contains a growth plate posteriorly. This is the section where the Achilles tendon inserts on the calcaneus. Around sixteen years of age, the growth plate ossifies onto the calcaneum. Sever s disease is the disturbance or micro trauma in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to note that the condition may be present bilaterally. Diagnosis is determined on history and clinical symptoms (Goel Watt, 2002). As X rays will show the growth plate, the ossification pattern of the calcaneal apophysis varies between patients. Therefore x rays should not be the only diagnostic tool. It is important to discover if there is calcaneal trauma in the medical history. Pain at the Achilles tendon insertion of the calcaneus and the elimination of differential diagnoses such as Achilles tendinosis, stress fractures, tumor, bone fusion and osteomyelitis usually produce a provisional diagnosis of calcaneal apophysis. The main pain management strategy consists of conservative measures by restricting the child s physical activity and reducing the tension stress of the tendon Achilles from repetitive trauma. It also depends on the severity of the condition and the willingness for the child to restrict activities. Immediate relief may be achieved through the application of ice, both when painful and after pain has ceased. Compression and elevation can also be incorporated into the acute management strategy. It is advisable for the affected foot to be assessed for forefoot/ hindfoot malalignment as it may cause added stress to the insertion of the tendon Achilles (Goel Watt, 2002). Reducing the traction that may be caused by the tight ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
