1. Young Goodman Brown Symbolism Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Young Goodman Brown Symbolism" can be both challenging
and intellectually stimulating. The challenge lies in dissecting Nathaniel Hawthorne's complex
and allegorical narrative to unearth the various layers of symbolism embedded within the text.
The story is rich with symbolic elements, such as names, settings, and events, each carrying
nuanced meanings that contribute to the overall theme.
Analyzing the symbolism in "Young Goodman Brown" requires a keen understanding of
Hawthorne's literary style and a deep exploration of the cultural and historical context in which
the story was written. The symbolism is not always overt, often requiring a careful examination
of subtle details to uncover the hidden meanings. As a writer, one must be prepared to navigate
through the ambiguity and intricacy of the narrative, connecting seemingly disparate elements to
construct a cohesive and insightful analysis.
Furthermore, the essay should go beyond a mere identification of symbols and delve into their
significance in relation to the story's themes, characters, and Hawthorne's broader commentary
on human nature and morality. Developing a coherent and persuasive argument that convincingly
interprets the symbolism in "Young Goodman Brown" adds an additional layer of difficulty to
the writing process.
Despite the challenges, the task of crafting a symbolism essay on "Young Goodman Brown"
offers a rewarding opportunity for literary exploration and critical thinking. It allows the writer
to engage deeply with a classic work of American literature and to contribute to the ongoing
dialogue surrounding its interpretation.
In conclusion, tackling the intricacies of symbolism in "Young Goodman Brown" demands a
combination of analytical skills, literary acumen, and a profound understanding of Hawthorne's
narrative techniques. While challenging, the process of unraveling the layers of meaning within
the story can be a gratifying intellectual endeavor for those willing to undertake it.

2. The Difference Between Dreams And Dreams In Short
Stories...
The imagination can become a way to tell stories by verbal means, or through
writing. The reason I believe dreams are like storytelling is that I turn my creative
dreams into short stories or forms of poetry. On the days I have writer s block I can
use my dreams to reach new ideas for new forms of poetry or stories. The same
days that I accomplish my work I can rely on sleep to improve my writing on what I
have thoughtof during my dreams. The creative process is what inspires the mindand
hands to work together to express ideas. Without having the ability to think,
storytelling and dreams wouldn t be the same. Dreams can be expressed through
storytelling because of the freedom we imagine, the creativity we borrow, the
adventures we seek, and the fear we live in. Dreams are like storytelling because of
freedom, creativity, adventure, and fear.
While there are many similarities through dreams and storytelling there are
differences. A difference being dreams can kill creativity by not being an original
thought. Instead of thinking repeatedly and trying to develop fresh new ideas, the
mind is doing all the work when resting. The difference between developing a new
idea and letting an alternative mind do the work for writers or movie directors it
becomes not an original idea. The mind processes different scenarios throughout the
day and recognizes different people that dreamers will see. Instead of thinking about
what we adventured to see the brain will compile everything from
3. Innocence And Maturation In Thomas Hart Benton s
Persephone
Innocence and maturation are two key aspects of the human experience. The
innocent mind allows you to live with less doubt and worry but it leaves you
vulnerable to manipulation and people taking advantage of you. Thomas Hart
Benton s Persephone portrays the myth of Persephone and Hades. The Rape of
Persephone goes as so; Zeusgives Persephone to Hadesto have as his wife.
Persephone is out and about and Hades takes her to the Underworld. A heartbroken
Demeter, goddess of harvest and agriculture, Persephone s mom, refuses to grow
anything until Persephone returns. Persephone is allowed back but Hades tricks her,
making her unable to leave the underworld permanently. Demeter compromises that
Persephone can be in the Underworld part of the year but that nothing will grow
while her daughter is away, forcing Persephone s return and creating the seasons.
Taking a new turn on the ancient myth, Benton sets the painting in a rural scene and
illustrates a bare Persephone lying leisurely, surrounded by greenery with Hades and
his chariot lurking behind her. The juxtaposition between the foliage, Persephone s
nude figure, and the wrinkled Hades in the background creates an imbalance between
maturation and sexuality with a blithe young woman caught in the middle. Overall,
Benton s Persephone accentuates the bliss of naivete coinciding with the
overwhelming malevolence and sexualization present in the world. Initially, Benton
s brush strokes dictate the movement of the piece, shaping the foliage around
Persephone in a nurturing and purposeful manner. I think this pulls Persephone
towards the viewer and draws more attention to her exposure and vulnerability. It
also symbolizes Demeter s protective nature and deep seeded love for her daughter.
It feels as though the movement of the plant life also creates a barrier of protection
between the aloof and defenseless Persephone and the wrinkled and perverted Hades.
I believe this determines the importance of protecting the young and naive, especially
with an abundance of attention in this world leading to desensitivity, and later
sexualization. This reminds me of a speech Emma Watson made to the United
Nations where she details how the media began to sexualize her as early as
4. The Wars At The End Of The Cold War
The wars at the end of the Cold War and the beginning of the new century are entirely
different from the other ones, mainly since September 11th, 2011. The nature of the
strategic environment of the warfare has undergone a series of transformations
because of the globalization, technology, economic relationships, and cultural
changes. They influence the warand create an environment characterized as volatile,
uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA). This new environment has shifted the
conventional use of arms, likewise, the strategies and the genius of the participants.
This paper tries to explain which of the strategic theories from two classical
strategists, Jomini and Clausewitz, have relevance and remain valid in this new
century characterized by a VUCA environment. Also, I analyze the principles from
the Chinese General Sun Tzu in unconventional warfare.
In this regard, it is necessary to understand the future of the wars. Then, I will
analyze Jomini s principles. After that, I will consider the core concepts of
Clausewitz about his Trinity, the character of the war, and the genius of the leaders.
Also, I will explain some similar definitions between Clausewitz and Sun Tzu.
Finally, I will analyze Sun Tzu theories and its relevance nowadays.
The nature of the war remain unchanged after thousands of years; however, its
character changed and it will continue mutable in the future according of the new
technological environment and new threats. These changes have had
5. The Reformation And The Reformation
The Reformation was a political, cultural, and religious reform of the Catholic
Church and of religious beliefs. People started to question if churches were corrupt.
The power and wealth churches had due to indulgences, taxes, and the secular power
of Popes were all called into question as well as how the Church interpreted the Bible.
New humanistic and secularist beliefs were emerging in addition to new thoughts on
how to be a good Christian. The Reformation brought about new denominations of
Christianity, and with that many conflicts caused by clashing religious ideals and the
strengthened unity of the Catholic Church New denominations of Christianity
appeared during the Reformation. Martin Luther, John Calvin, and begrudgingly,
Charles V were the main people attributed to starting or aiding in the growth of such
denominations. Luther is typically associated with having initiated the Reformation
by writing his 95 These. In document 1 is Luther s 95 Theses which he had written
in complaint of the Catholic Church s selling of indulgences and secular power. His
theses soon gain enormous popularity and Luther unwittingly become the leader of
a new branch of Christianity called Lutheran. Such like in document 1, document 4,
taken from Calvin s Golden Book of The True Christian Life, lead to a new branch
of Christianity called Calvinism. Calvinists believe that people are sinful from birth
and while those who are able to go to heaven have already been decided; it is
important

Ozark Furniture Inequality For this assignment we are use two rockers that Ozark
Furniture makes and assign variable to them then and then write a linear inequality
for them. The linear inequality I will be solving is: a store faxes an order of 175
modern rocking chair and 125 classic rocking chair to Ozark Furniture and so will
they be able to fill it. I will demonstrate my solution and include the mathematical
work to solve it. I am going to use a graph, which I will not be able to attach to my

The first quadrant of the graph was used so the shaded portion goes to the origin
before it stops at the two axes.
The point on the graph in the shaded area would be (50, 40). That would mean that
50 feet would be used for classic rockers and we would use 40 feet for the modern
rocker that would be needed. So to see if the order could be filled we will plug them
in to the equation: 15c (50) = 750c for classic 12m (40) = 480m which equals 750 +
480 = 1230. We can fill the order.
Another point on the graph that is outside the shaded area would be (150, 100). 150
would be for the classic rocker and 100 for modern. Now, we plug them in to the
equation to see if the order can be filled. 15c (150) = 2250 for classic 12m (100) =
1200 which equals 2250 + 1200 = 3450 which means the order can t be filled. Now if
we use the point on the line we will have (124, 95). So 124 for the classic and 95 for
the maple. Let plug them in the equation. 15c (124) = 1860 for classic. 12m (95) =
1140 which equals 1860 + 1128 = 3000, which means we will have enough to fill the
order. Now to see if we can fill the order from the fax we have received. Which was
125 for the classic and 175 for modern. Let us plug them into the equation. 15c (125)
= 1875, 12m (175) = 2100, which equals 1875 + 2100 =
7. Professional Liability And Legal Liability Insurance
The profession that I have chosen to concentrate on is that of a personal trainer,
specifically issues concerning liability insurance. Personal trainers provide
direction and supervision to clients within the realm sports and exercise realm. The
chosen place of employment is often work out facilities. It may also include
working with clients at other locations, such as the client or trainer s homes.
Personal trainers work both as employees and as independent contractors. I think
that I would probably have an employer in the beginning, such as working for a
work out club chain. After I acquired some experience and built up a clientele, I
would probably consider working as an independent contractor. Either way there are
risks that must be covered by insurance. Whether a client is injured due to negligence,
or inherent risks (no fault), a trainer must protect themselves in case of a lawsuit.
Additionally, frivolous lawsuits have become common place, and if an individual
does not have insurance they could be left vulnerable. Both professional liability and
general liability insuranceare necessary to help to cover your costs in the event of an
injury claim, whether you are truly responsible or not. This is an essential part of a
comprehensive risk managementstrategy.
Some of the specific duties a personal trainer is responsible for are:
Overseeing exercise programs and weight training.
Instruction on proper lifting techniques, proper usage/handling of
8. The Food Of The Potato Industry
Over time, potatoes have become a favorite and satisfying source of nourishment
for individuals globally. For many centuries, potatoes have been utilized to feed a
variety people including those who made historical strides. For example, an icon
such as Christopher Columbus went on sea vogues for extended periods of time
and he had to store supplies and resources that had long shelf life and nonperishable
items. Since the versatility of potatoes are endless the purpose of this particular
vegetable can be consumed by people, exchanged (imported and exported) in markets
across the world, used to feed livestock, and/or used as a supplement to nourish crops
for future harvests. Ultimately, the potatoindustry is thriving and will continue
because if prepared in the desired manner potatoes are the most efficient or convenient
source of beneficial healthy food. A downfall that could cripple the potato commerce
is if stricter regulations are implemented and enforced to reduce undesired actions of
the fast food(restaurant) industry, which as a result could cause financial ruins
affecting nation s economy and the global market as an entity. According to the
Agricultural Marketing Resource Center, the potato crops are the fourth most
important crop in the world and essential vegetable in the United States. Above fifty
percent of potato sales are producers of french fries, chips, dehydrated potatoes, and
other products. The remainder of potato production are sent to fresh food
9. Reflection Essay On Serving Enlightenment
Serving Enlightenment Serving is just like any skill you learn in life; it takes
awhile to become successful and you have to overcome many difficulties.
Waitressing can be a very tedious job, yet has its rewards. Just like any profession,
there are many controlled and uncontrolled factors that determine how successful you
are. Unlike other careers, servers have to deal with a lot of things they can t control.
Uncontrollable factors are extremely difficult because you have to adapt in order to
overcome them. Some unregulated factors I have faced throughout my serving career
include, unstable management, uncanny customers, and an unthinkable amount of
stress. Just like any workplace, you have to deal with the management. The
managers at Steak N Shake changed every month I was there, which made it
impossible to establish a stable working pattern. Big Mike, the manager who
interviewed me, was only there for the first month I was employed then he
transferred and was replaced with Jenna. I came in early one day and told Jenna
that I couldn t work Monday or Tuesday. Somehow, when I got the schedule for
next week, the only days I was scheduled to work were Monday and Tuesday. She
didn t last long, and the process repeated itself for the year I worked there.
To work in a restaurant, you have to have a very flexible schedule. Shifts change
and people drop and pick them up very often. If a coworker takes your shift for
some reason, you basically owe them one and can count on
10. The Causes And Impacts Of Hurricane Katrina
In the year of 2005 one tragic event had happened to the Gulf Coast of the United
States. On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina, a Category 3 storm made landfall,
and affected hundreds of thousands of people from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama.
These people were evacuated from their homes, and authority estimates that this
hurricane generated more than $100 billion in damages. This hurricane was able to
maintain winds up to 100 to 140 miles per hour and was 400 miles across. Hurricane
Katrinastarted to develop over the Bahamas on August 23, 2005, so meteorologist
were able to notify people in the states of the Gulf Coast that a massive storms was
about to hit. New Orleans was a major city that was going to get struck. Nearly 80
percent of New Orleans was flooded with water. Hurricane Katrina killed almost
2,000 people and impacted 90,000 square miles of the United States.

11. Taking a Look at Photographic Film
Photographic film A film can be defined as a material which is chemically reactive
and when exposed to a light source records a fixed or still image. In other words it
helps in capturing the image of a the photographed object, formed from the light
reflecting back from its surface. Technically it is a photographic material
consisting of a celluloid base that is covered with a photographic emulsion that is
later used to make the negatives or the transparencies that maybe contained inside
a roll, or maybe a cassette or a cartridge. A film, when developed will produce
transparent negatives. A negative film is a photographic image that is formed on
a narrow transparent strip of sheet whose surface is generally made up of plastic or
glass. It is a type of photographic image that shows the bright areas of the subject
photographed as dark and the dark areas of the subject as light. A negative film can
be found in all formats, and can be black and white or colour. A negative can produce
a positive image when light is made to pass through it. A positive image is actually a
normal image while a negative image is a total inversion were the light areas of the
picture becomes dark and the dark as light. Hence a positive is the final image. A
positive can also be made directly from a film, like transparencies ( were a film is
processed to give a positive image directly rather than to give a negative ) what is it

12. Hillary Clinton Reflection
Women have been able to make a change in society about themselves, yet they are
still being treated as a toy that is being controlled by society. Hillary Clinton noticed
that women around the world were being treated differently from men. She saw that
women s rights were not being regarded as human rights and that it was time for
women to make a difference and have their rights be considered as human rights. Our
worldis improving from the past and Hillary Clinton is stating that it is time for a
change to make each individual be equal including both women and men. In
Hillary Clinton s World Conference on Women speech, the first lady wants to
notify the public that women s rights are human rights by describing the hard work
that women do in the world, appealing to the feelings of women, and using a tone
that is determined to make her dream become a reality. Hillary Clinton wants to
inform the public of the type of women she is standing up for as well as what she
experienced in the world. In order to seek information about what women do in the
world, she traveled around to see what women did to benefit their society. In the text,
it states: I have met new mothers in Indonesia, who come together regularly in their
village to discuss nutrition, family planning, and baby care... I have met women in
South Africawho helped lead the struggle to end apartheid and are now helping to

13. Makeup Men Stereotypes
After discussing for a while over what kind of product we could endorse in our
advertisement, we decided to try to tackle the stereotype that makeup on men is
unacceptable, striving for a witty and humorous approach when planning and
filming the video. Our video was about a young man who wanted to be more
manly. In a way, some viewers could possibly relate to this, so our target audience
was all the people who, like Bridie, want to use basic makeup products, like skin
perfector, concealer, eyeshadow, and lip gloss, while still looking manly af.

in much the same way that women s makeup defines or enhances features that are
normally stereotyped as feminine. In short, we used the male stereotypes in our
favour to create a product which was originally supposed to break a stereotype more
appealing to our target audience.
Considering our group was made up of only girls, we needed some way of
incorporating a manly man into the video. Our solution was to pick one of us to
become the manliest of men. For this task, we chose none other than the amazing
Bridie. Of course, we couldn t only include Bridie in the video. And we needed some
other talented actors to accompany her, and make the advertisement even more
persuasive. Jaimie took on the role of the pretty girl, who wore lots of makeup, and
Courtney became the very confident and convincing presenter of manly man makeup.
To find a suitable outfit for Man Bridie, we observed the habits of the modern
manly man and created the perfect ensemble for our primary character. The outfits
of the other characters were then much simpler to assemble. Jaimie wore a dress that
made her look feminine, and lots of makeup (as Bridie pointed out in the ad).
Courtney wore a bright dress so that she stood

In a large town in urban Nebraska lived a tall, lanky kid with sandy blond hair and
acne named Wes. Wes Nelson was a sophomore in high school and had always
dreamed about playing for their state number one five years in a row golf team.
Wes would always see the varsity golf players in the hall of the school and gawk at
them as if they were greek gods themselves. They just seemed so perfect to him.
First there was Jeffrey Wimson, the varsity number six. Jeffrey was a 5 10 junior

beard. Jeffery was a ladies man, always could be seen in the halls with at least one or
two bodacious women under his arms. Next there was Keenan Jenski, A junior and the

ocean blue eyes, and a golf game that would blow you away. Dustin was a super
respectful, and would always help everyone at practice before he would even
begin. He was truly an amazing role model, one that Wes has looked up to his
entire life. Wes had earned his way on to the JV team for Dellburg high this year
and is the number one spot, which is no easy task in itself. Every player on the
Varsity roster shoots consistently in a range from 67 to 73. Wes was about a two
handicap which means he shoots a range from about 74 to 79. Ever since Wes was
a young boy he had always had aspirations to play for this prestigious team. He had
practiced day and night for years trying to accomplish this one goal. It always came
down to the same thing that was holding him back, putting. Wes could hit the ball
like no ones business always putting himself into great position to score, but never
being able to make the clutch putts to put himself into the low 70 s range. Wes
would always have coach Wilder, the JV coach, help him during practice on short
and long lag
15. The 1920 S
The 1920 s were mainly known for the beginning of the Harlem Renaissance,
Prohibition, and the generation where women were guaranteed the right to vote.
The 1920 s has been argued to be either very conservative or liberal, but it can go
either way. Although the 1920 s are conservative because of economic reasons
involving immigration, the 1920 s are liberally revolutionary because of cultural
changes with women and religious changes from the Scopes Trial. Granted, the 1920
s were majorly conservative in their economics by being constructive on immigration
policies. Nativism still existed because people were still scared that their jobs would
be taken away by immigrants, which were found unfair to a majority of Americans. In

Another economic change other than immigration in the 1920 s was the Eighteenth
amendment which banned alcohol to be sold, manufactured, or transported in the
United States. This was extremely liberal because it had never happened in the
United States before and it was against the traditional ways of the American life.
Prohibition is backed by conservatism and political parties that are also
conservative, such as the Ku Klux Klan. Though Prohibition laws reflected a
turning point in the United States which was accepted by a large sum of people
except the conservatives. The 20 s ended up or attempted killing off old traditional
stereotypes and began to create a more exceptional thought. Certainly, the 1920 s
were liberally revolutionary in their culture in relation to women. The 20 s saw
women develop in society and politically; starting with the Nineteenth Amendment
which gave women the right to vote. Afterward, a lifestyle called the new woman
was created that changed women s appearance and attitude. These new women were
labeled flappers by the upper class women, and rejected traditional values of women
by exposing their legs, arms, cutting their hair in short bobs, wearing
makeup, smoking and drinking publically. An article published by New York Times
states that, You will have noticed that they (flappers) had forgotten to buckle their
overshoes and you will have noticed that they had taken to wearing

Law of Tort and Business Contracts Introduction According to law, tort occurs
when a person fails to observe duty imposed on one by law, to ensure there is no
injury to a determinate person. In most cases, the remedies for a tort are in the
form of unliquidated damages for instance different amounts of compensation,
which are determined by the courts of law. The law seeks to compensate the
aggrieved party, unlike the criminal cases where the offenders are punished
according to law. However, certain cases in tort fall both in the civil and criminal
law brackets. Examples include assault and battery. The tort of negligence is
addressed in this article, because of its influence compared to the other torts of
law. The liability attracted by negligence comes from a basis of duty to practice
reasonable care (Geistfeld, 2011, pg 144). First case analysis: Rare Plants Limited

How We Listen by Aaron Copland:
Who is the Speaker?
According to the passages, the speaker is Aaron Copland, a prominent American
composer of the 20th century. Copland was a very prominent composer due to his
explanation of the three steps of listening to music: sensuous, expressive, and musical
plane. Copland s background information is evident through the italicized summary
information in the beginning of the passage and also through his genuine perception
of music. Due to first person narrative throughout the text (ex: we ), Copland is
evidentially revealed to the readers.

For example, most people listen on the sensuous plane by just losing his or herself in
the mellifluous sound and rhythm of a music. Instead, Copland argues that people
should also listen on an expressive and musical plane as well. The expressive plane
of listening to music is where people begin to propose their own opinions of what
they think a music really means; in Copland s opinion, he believes that the
expressive plane is a controversial ground where the meanings of a music are
always shifting for everyone. As for the musical plane of listening, this is the last
step where Copland suggest people to listen to the harmon and tone color of a
music; this step allows people to listen for and learn about musical forms and such.
Overall, all these steps lead back to Copland s purpose of helping people enrich his or
her s musical experience.
What is the Subject?
The subject of this text are methods proposed by Copland to help improve people s
music listening skills. The author reveals this subject by going in depth about
different methods of listening to music and common listening behaviors of people.
In addition to this, Copland also stated that if it is more difficult it is to interpret a

relation to clinical judgement, I thought aloud during my video, I demonstrated the

much communication occurred, as I did not have a real patient or another team
member during the video validation. Although I did not have a real patient with me, I
did introduce myself and my role, as well as documented my care clearly, concisely,

two authors convey Puritan beliefs in two very different ways. Edwards projects
these ideas by putting fear into his people, while Hawthorne takes a less critical
approach to express his Puritanbeliefs. While Hawthorne s style is gloomy and
strange, Jonathan Edwards challenges the reader s understanding of Puritan ideals
of religion by using symbolism, imagery, and details to steer his congregation
away from sin and toward God. Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God and The
Minister s Black Veil both use symbolism to contribute to the impact of Puritanical
values on their congregations; however, Edwards utilizes symbolism more
effectively. He uses symbolism to create fear when he says, The bow of God s
wrath is bent, and the arrow made ready on the string, and justice bends the arrow at
your heart, and strains the bow... (paragraph 8). He uses the bow to symbolize God s
angerwith the people of Edwards s congregation by being straightforward with them,
while Hawthorne s use of symbolism is more difficult to comprehend. In contrast,
Hawthorne uses symbolism to give the black veil a greater purpose than it actually
has when he explains, It shook with his measured breath, as he gave out the psalm; it
threw its obscurity between him

History and Background.
Old Navy is an American clothing and accessories retailer owned by another big
clothing comapny, Gap. It has corporate operations in the Mission Bay
neighbourhood of San Francisco. The largest of the Old Navy stores are its flagship
stores, located in the Mall of America(NYC), Seattle, Chicago, and San Francisco.
Old Navy s history goes right where The Gap, Inc. was founded by Donald.G in
1969. Fisher, who founded his own clothing store out of frustration, when he
couldn t find a pair of jeans that would perfectly fit him. And since that time, The
Gap s retail clothing brand has been one of the most successful in United States
history. Before Donald Fisher launched the first Gap store in San Francisco, he had
been a prosperous real estate developer. It is fair to say, that Fisher s first store was
an immediate sensation. Young adults from the neighbouring San Francisco have
flown to the stores to get low priced jeans. And in just a few short years, the first
Gap store became a huge retail chain composed of 200 stores, in over 20 states, and
valued at an estimated $100 million dollars. By the late 1970s, GAP was growing
at a rate of almost 80 new stores each year and generating about $300 million
annually, which worth mentioning is a lot of money that days. In 1983, Millard

2. The real usage: These services were meant to ease the pressure off the citizens of
India. However, there was a difference in a way majority of people perceived these
services. For many, it was just a new technology which they felt was far beyond
their reach. For some, the security feature was hindering in the process of taking
initiative to use the e governance services. There were also issues regarding literacy,
although the portals were meant to be multi lingual, the initial services were
launched in English which was a major factor for not reaching many citizens in
India. Hence all these factors led to decline in the numbers expected to use the e
governance services in India.

1. On what basis should Walter make his recommendations for the size of the water
soluble package? Walter should make his recommendations by first looking at the
current market place. There are two big markets one is the Tobacco farmers that
make up 60 percent of the market place and the other one is the potato farmers that
make up 40 percent of the marketplace. It it necessary to know how much active
ingredient needed per acremeaning the size of will vary for the tobacco and potato
farms for the cost of packaging materials and equipment. Also, Walter needs to
calculate the the amounts needfor farms such as a tobacco farm needs about 4 to 8
quarts of liquid per acre that contains 2.25 Ibs that sums up 2.25 4.5 Ibs of AI per
acer. While a potato farm need about 4 to 6 quarts of liquid per acre that contains
2.25 Ibs that sums up to 2.25 3.375. Finally, Walter needs to consider the usefulness
or ease of the product. Such as using a liquid based product is easy for a person to
use it and store it back without any problem, compared to a dry product which
requires a lot of mixing and if you don t uses all of it would be a waste of money.
2. What is your recommendation for the size of the water soluble package? My
recommendation for the size of the water soluble package should be 1.875 lb.

Thomas Jefferson designed his home the Monticello in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The house is a Neoclassical structure made out of brick, glass, stone, and wood. As
the father of the American Revolution, his ideas were inspired by the classical
antiquity he saw during his travels to Europe and so the house s structure was
based on the movement seeking to reinvent classical ideas. Jefferson viewed art as
a powerful tool, believing it could provoke social change, inspire the public to seek
education, and develop a general sense of the Enlightenment to the American public.
Jefferson believed scale and public nature of architecture had the ability to fulfill the
aspirations of a skilled orator, by having the ability to Teach, to Delight, and To
Move. When Jefferson began designing his home he strayed away from the typical

has symmetrical interior design, stucco applied to trim, tall French doors and
windows (allowing for circulation in the summer), with an octagonal dome.
Jefferson was obsessed in saving space and was inspired by the Palladian villas in
Italy. By introducing classical architecture to the U.S, Jefferson intended to reinforce
the ideals of the classical past; democracy, education, rationality, civic responsibility.
All in all, Jefferson built a home to represent the symbolic nature of architecture and

demonstrate how the tragedy has affected people on a much bigger scale across
America. The presence of the Statue of Liberty is included to show freedom and

When we, as a society, are faced with a difficult question or even asked a question,
our solution is to go straight to technology. We have followed what s in trend for
the longest time. That is the world of the internet, T.V, and the convenience of our
phones. A difficult thing for us to understand was that nearly 30 years ago we did
not have any of these things. How has this put an effect on our minds? Do you think
we have turned our minds into a computer, or do we just rely on the answers to come
right into our brains and have stopped thinking by ourselves?
In the book Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman talks a little bit about the
book 1984, by George Orwell and says how our rights to thinking might be taken
away and how another author named Aldous Huxley says that we might just hand
them away for no reason. Both Orwell and Huxley are English authors. Us as a
society is allowing information to be fed to us by T.V., and the internet blends
opinions and facts together that we don t understand. Yet we process this
information, we build our thoughts and opinions around what the other
misinformed people insists is fact. But as a society we are aware of these lies and
these facts that are not fully to its truth. Because of this, when the truth does come

findings that Mycah has a clear understanding of classification. Lastly I will be
comparing Mycah s psychosocial development to that of Berger s accounts. As

middle childhood a time when children gain independence and autonomy. They

Key Ideas
Introduction
During the 1300 1450 CE time period, connections between empires and surrounding
peoples demonstrate the importance of trade. This period is one of the earliest times
that trade linked not only large civilizations around the world together, but also
smaller communities. The link between the large central civilizations and periphery
communities meant a new level of interconnectedness between all groups. At first
glance, groups on the periphery might seem to be not as advanced, but it is in these
communities that demonstrate some of the most unique developments.
In Africa, Europe, and Latin America, in the period 1300 1450 demonstrates the

Like I mentioned previously there are people in town who have been in the business

Euripides s Medea is a Greek tragedy set in fifth century BC Athens that depicts the
plotting of Medea s revenge, who herself was wronged and betrayed by her
husband. Like other tragedies, we can see that emotions are at the heart of Medea.
These emotions are resonant and altruistic such that we feel for other people who
have no direct connection with us nor belong in the same world. This ability to
evoke the outgoing emotion in the audience opposed to an introverted self absorption
view is characteristic of Greek tragedy. Similarly, Euripideshandles the complexity of
his characters, supplying an element of pathos to his audience in the process. From

An essential point to note is that like Medea, Jason cannot be labeled as a typical
villain with only evil thoughts. It is revealed that his desire to marry the princess
was nothing about the princess . Instead, it was to protect (Medea) and to father
some royal sons , ultimately for security . Just like Medea, Jason is too a victim of
the forces of human nature and society shown through his desire to climb the social
ladder through marriage. He was not a heartless villain but instead, he still cares for
Medea and his sons. Hence, this makes the final scene when Jason arrives after his
sons infanticide even more striking in its pathos. It is interesting to note at this point,
Euripides employs deus ex machina to save Medea from the consequence of her
crimes through the escape in Helios s dragon chariot. Jason is hence left on stage
alone and appears to be completely defeated emphasised by the image of a
triumphant Medea in the chariot. He is left childless and his bride gone along with
his dreams of power. Euripides hence effectively builds up to this scene through the
application of the deus ex machina and the handling of Jason s character. Ultimately,
this evokes strong pathos as his lone figure left on stage leaves a lasting impression

In 1979, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomenei overthrew the Western backed Shah and

A STEM education is a necessity in the United States because the country is lacking
knowledgeable people in such fields. However, one is better equipped for multiple
job and career positions with the addition of a liberal arts education. It is nearly
impossible to transition to different careers with only vocational training. In 2003,
the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development studied math and
science literacy among fifteen year olds. The United States was ranked number
twenty four in math literacy (Drew 27). They are behind countries such as
Finland, Slovak Republic, and Hungary. Likewise, the United States was ranked
number nineteen in science literacy (Drew 27). It is obvious that the country is
behind. STEM education needs to be reformed at the secondary and post
secondary levels of schooling. Katrina Trinko, a member of USA TODAY s Board
of Contributors, agrees that more emphasis should be placed on STEM education;
however, this emphasis should not be at the sacrifice of a good liberal arts
education. She writes, Even technology wizards can become more innovative with a
solid background in liberal arts (Trinko 6). A liberal arts education is beneficial to
people in all career fields.

43. Beliefs On Life After Death
Death is an inevitable event, which all people will endure. It is a scary idea but it is
a part of our reality as human beings, and we all know this information, but the long
standing question is what happens after the physical falls dead. The three
monotheistic religions, which are: Judaism, Christianity and Islamhave traditions and
scriptures that give scholars some clue to what the afterlife might be like. Among
these three religions, there are many similarities in the beliefs and traditions of life
after death, but there are also some differences. In this paper, I will discuss those
differences and similarities, specifically focusing on the general belief on death, the
concept of resurrection, belief on life after death, through each... Show more content

In Christian traditions after death there are burials with the person in coffins and
caskets. In the Muslim tradition the dead is buried with shrouds and have to be
positioned facing a certain location, and they are also taught not to speak ill of the
dead which is not a similarity observed among the other religions. However,
Muslim scholars haven t came to an agreement that one in the Islamic religion will
be reunited with loved ones after death, as the other two traditions has. In the
Roman Catholic Church, the seven sacraments must be preformed in order to be

Is being a philosopher pointless? The human life is so limited, why waste your time
questioning the world. A philosopher a just person, but they decide to question
society, people s motives, and even the fundamental question of what is the point to
existence. Something about philosophy draws these people into dedicating their
lives to answer these questions. So many great philosophers have lived throughout
history, but if they are so great, then why can t they agree? Have they simply been
wasting their time? Mustn t there be a right and wrong, a proper way to live good
life? If two great philosophers dedicate their lives to finding truth, but arrive at
different answers, then does that mean one must be wrong? Perhaps they are both are

The goal is to live the way of the Dao. The Dao is the way, and it is about balance.
That balance is described as Yin and Yang. Taoism describes the ideal state as one
without much travel and where the role of government is minimal, and where
rulers should be practically invisible to those that they rule. Taoism acknowledges
how so many truths have been reached, and with some many versions of the truth,
it concludes there is no final truth. Seriousness is only justified if there is a final
truth, but since that is impossible, seriousness is never justified. While both
philosophies are extremely similar and share many views and goals, how to reach
those goals is what separates them. Taoism believes that balance is the way to go,
while Confucianism believes in structure. While the idea of Yin and Yang is
common in both, it is far more important in Taoism, and that is an important
difference. Confucianism has man imbalances. The five key relationships are based
on imbalance. Furthermore, women are seen as inferior to men, while they are seen
more equally in Taoism. Taoism is about seeking balance, and that is why I prefer

1. BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY
1.1BACKGROUND
Cauchy elastic materials, also known as simple elastic materials are a type of
material in which the stress at each point can only be determined from the state of
deformation in which it is currently in with respect to a arbitrary co ordinate system
[1]. The fact that these stresses depend solely on the state of deformation means that
these stresses, which cause work, can depend on the path in which the material
deforms. This translates to the material being conservative, also known as a
hyperplastic material (e.g. rubber).
Hyper elastic material, also know as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, the hydraulics pressure is generated from either the geroter (generated
rotor), or a rotary vane pump, which are driven by the engine of the vehicle. The
turning of the wheels is done by a hydraulic cylinder which has a force applied to it
from a hydraulic cylinder, which is directly controlled by valves allowing for flow
according to the drivers steering. The more force applied by the driver allows for a
grater flow in the hydraulic system thus, allowing for a greater displacements of the
steering heel, leading to an increased turning rate of the vehicle.
Considering hydraulic pumps are designed to in effect only during positive
displacement the speed of the engine, directly relates to the flow rate of the hydraulic
pump meaning that at high speeds the cars steering operates easier and faster
compared to low speeds.
FIGURE 2: Power steering unit layout [3].
The equivalent linear stiffness of the dust boot covers is important for the feel of the
steering, and the packaging constraints in that area are restrictive so a trade off needs
to be found between the maximum diameter (minimum stiffness) of the concertina
folded cover and the effect of the stiffness on the steering.

Along the same lines, a fixed camera with pan tilt zoom capability can be placed
inside a burn building during a training session and can be controlled from a
remote location. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; From an application standpoint, the
telemetry system might include the ability to operate multiple cameras in a single
scene. For example, in the case of a search amp; rescue, there could be multiple
camera men looking for victims. In this case, the command center can keep track
of individuals inside by seeing the same image in the telemetry system as the
firefighter sees in his camera. In other applications, the telemetry system might be
required to be secure. In other words, there are situations where the transmitted
information should only be received by the intended party and not be picked up by
a local television crew or other unintended users. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;
nbsp;Another application of the telemetry system is on ladder trucks. Typically, a
ladder truck that has a hose attachement is used to spray water from the roof. The
problem is that the water is sprayed without knowing exactly where the water is
going. Consider a situation where a TIC on a pan tilt zoom control can be placed
on the end of a ladder. At the bottom of the ladder, the firefighter will then be able
to see where the water from the hose is being sprayed and be able to control the
water stream.

fairly interesting story of Sam Patch and his ascent to celebrity to investigate various

Ammar and Spada (2006) investigated the effects of recasts and prompts on L2
learners written and oral ability across different proficiency levels. The study fits
in with the previous research, as in previously the focus of research was just based
on CF being a solution for low levels of grammatical efficiency, which have been
explained as the proof against the accuracy of understandable input and
exceptionally meaning based direction. The researchers have thus proposed FFI in
CF, which is based both on reactive and proactive form of feedback and which has
been proposed by the researchers as the most important way of attracting the learners
towards language form in case of communicative classroom environment. The main
motivation, just as in previous article, is to explore the form focused instruction as
alternative way of instruction so as to make CF more proactive as well as reactive.
The main hypothesis of this researchis that learners who have been more exposed to
the communicative activities including components of the CF would probably get
more benefits as compared to those who are exposed only to the communicative
activities alone. For this purpose, there were 64 students, who were divided into
three different groups in ESL classes in Montreal and there were two experimental
conditions that were applied to them. One group had received the CF in the form of
prompts as well as recasts. Similarly, other was the control group. The target structure
was third person

The members of the Duke Lacrosse team did not have much support from the faculty
as the accusations were the headliners for many major media outlets. The impact of
these allegations by the Duke Lacrosse team was tremendous. The President of the
University Richard Brodhead canceled the entire season and called the situation
sickening and repulsive (Jennings, 2009, p. 568). Once again the support from the
highest level at Duke University was not there for the three members of the lacrosse
team at the center of the allegations. The African American accuser Crystal Mangum
had support from the NAACP, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and the Durham County
District Attorney Mike Nifong. The coach of the team also resigned from his job as
the season was canceled. Mr. Nifong from the beginning of the investigation seemed
to have his mind set on convicting these white males of the allegations they faced
from the accuser. The unethical manner in which Mike Nifong proceeded in the
investigation tested the judicial system. The tactics that were used in the case
undermined that you are innocent until proven guilty. A Duke was facing a crisis
little did the judicial system in North Carolina know that they were about to have
their work cut out for them as Mr. Nifong continued his journey to find these three

This man tends to be surrounded by amazing and unbelievable events, starting
from when the newborn boy of Pelayo and his wife, Elisenda, fights off his grave
sickness. This continues to show through the next several years of the story. The
old man brings, although skewed, miracles to the villagers. One man, hoping to
cure his blindness, grew 3 new teeth. A cripple, wanting to walk again, almost won
the lottery. A leper even sprouted sunflowers from their sores. These consolation
miracles , as Marquez described them in his story, also ended the popularity of the
old man and stopped the flow of people into the family s land. This event not only
allowed the family to rebuild their house from the money they raised but also cured
Father Gonzaga s insomnia. The old man s wings also play a huge role in showing
that he is a good person. Wings represent many different things across many
different cultures but in Christianity, which is the main religion expressed in this
story, wings can be described as the light of the Sun of Justice that shows the
intelligence of the Just (Albornoz, Fernandez). If the old man is an angel, as the
villagers believe, then his wings should exhibit this. Angels should also exhibit
strong goodwill towards the living. The winged man shows more of the attitude of
angels though his patience. He never gets mad at the people who travel from
around the world to see him no matter what they do to him. From people picking
his feathers from his wings to people burning his side with a steer branding tool.

man stays very passive toward the people and never hurts or rebels against his
captors or others, only helping

world of cinema for years to come. George Walton Lucas Jr. was born on May 14,
1944, in Modesto, California a small farming town east of San Francisco (Barson).
He attended Thomas Downey High School and later attended Modesto Junior
