particularly in basketball. Basketball has always been a fast paced, exciting game to
watch. The sport has even been nationally televised for decades. The game has
gained special popularity because of its superstars. National Basketball Association
(NBA) superstars are recognized by many as the most recognizable pro athletes.
Larry Bird was one of the most famous stars of the league, and his popularity greatly
increased the publics interest in the league. Larry Bird s fame and basketball success
was brought about by his hard work and competitiveness.
It all began on December 7, 1956, in a rural Indiana town called West Baden; Larry
Bird was born (Borden n. pag.). His family s life in West Baden and French Lick
was anything but glamorous. However, Bird said, I just never realized how poor

Writing down what I ate for ten days was a task given to me. It helped me
understand myself better. I know now that I have deeper unsurfaced feelings about
beef, that I do not make breakfast and that I like lists. In the following paragraphs
these ideas are opened up more and are taken more in depth.
My family has very different eating styles than other families. My dad is very picky.
He only eats one type of butter otherwise the food makes his stomach upset. With the
journal, I noticed that I eat food that my Dad would eat. I am not a picky person

have some type of beef for every diner. I ate hamburgers six out of the ten days of
the study. I never realized how much beef I ate until looking back. This makes

Sometimes all it takes to turn the person who hates to read, into the person who
loves to read. I know that this has been the case for me at least. When I was a child

Adivasis are the indigenous population of India who predominantly depend on
forests for their livelihood and identity (references). India has the largest Adivasi
(indigenous) population in the world accounting to 104 million (8.2% of the national
population), yet it took government of India nearly 60 years to acknowledge the
historical relevance of forests for Adivasicommunities through ForestRights
Act,2006 (references). The disregard for Adivasi societies is sometimes reflective
even on community name assigned by the mainstream non Adivasis. For example,
one of the tribal groups in Kerala are known by the name Adiyas (аґ†аґ¦аґїаґ® root
word which in Malayalam means slave). Assigning such community names by the
non Adivasis were some of the linguistic illustrations of Adivasi subjugation and
dominance (references). Adivasi are primarily forest dwellers, grazers, agriculturists,

I still remember the days in my universities as if it were yesterday. In those days I
worked with lot of national and international organizations, which are working in
varied sectors and bringing change by modern methodologies. In second year of my
under graduate, I founded a Non Governmental Organization named Fep Si (Forum
for Empowering people through Social Innovation and Entertainment) and worked
with another organization named Alexis Foundation as research associate for

guilty pleasures or human indulgence. (Lorenzi, Sin Taxes 60) Sin taxes, therefore,
are intended to encourage citizens to consume or use taxed items responsibly or
discourage behavior associated with the consumption of taxed items. Goods or
services generally taxed through sin tax policy have some common characteristics
including inelastic demand, promote behavior that is harmful to the individual, and

services targeted by sin taxes have an inelastic demand because they are generally
habitual, addictive, or highly pleasurable. (Lorenzi, Sin Taxes 60) Further, these
goods or services are targeted by sin tax legislation because consuming or utilizing
the good or services can lead to self destructive behavior, negative consequences for
communities, and generally are considered socially undesirable. Thus, sin taxes are
not prohibitive; citizens are allowed to consume targeted goods and services as long
as the tax is not steep enough to make consumption of the good or service impossible.

In his career, Timothy Webster served as a New York City policeman in the
earliest days of the department, worked as a private detective in the most famous
private detective agency ever, acted as a Union spy during the American Civil War,
and generally lived a life of adventure and daring. There is no telling what Webster
would have accomplished had his life not been cut short.
Timothy WebsterJr. was born on March 22, 1822, in Newhaven, Sussex County,
England, the fourth of eleven children born to Timothy and Frances Webster. Two of
the children died in infancy and one at the age of two. The Websters immigrated to
the United States in 1830 and settled in Princeton, New Jersey. Timothy was eight.
For a time Webster s life was typical enough. At nineteen he married twenty three
year old Charlotte Sprowls. A year later their first child, a son, was born. They would
have four children in all.
Sometime in the 1840s they moved to New York City and Timothy, now with a
family to support, embarked on a career in law enforcement, joining the city s then
fledgling police force.
Before 1845, the force was simply too small for the large metropolis. The Municipal

with Lan Su in Bloom beginning April 1.
April and May will be filled with sight and scents of special lush floral
arrangements and unique plant displays. There will also be plant walks with Lan Su
s horticulture staff and talks by a variety of plant and garden experts.
Walled in a unique micro climate we are a bit warmer and protected, plants tend to
bloom earlier in the spring they wake up! said Glin Varco, Lan Su s Director of
Horticulture.
Featured are four of China s most auspicious and culturally significant plants:
