Flowers For Algernon Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Flowers for Algernon" can be both challenging and
rewarding. The intricacies of the novel demand a thoughtful exploration of its themes, character
development, and the ethical questions it raises. One must delve into the complexities of Charlie
Gordon's journey, from intellectual disability to fleeting genius, and examine the profound
impact on his relationships and self-awareness.
To effectively tackle this essay, one needs a deep understanding of the psychological and ethical
dilemmas presented in the narrative. The themes of intelligence, humanity, and the consequences
of scientific experimentation require careful analysis and critical thinking. Moreover, the
emotional depth of the story adds another layer of complexity, urging the writer to navigate the
delicate balance between empathy and critique.
The challenge lies not only in summarizing the plot but in dissecting the layers of symbolism and
allegory that Daniel Keyes skillfully weaves throughout the narrative. Addressing the ethical
implications of altering intelligence and the blurred line between progress and ethics adds an
extra layer of difficulty.
However, as with any challenging task, the difficulty of writing such an essay is accompanied by
the opportunity to engage deeply with a thought-provoking piece of literature. The essay
provides a platform to showcase one's analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to
communicate ideas effectively.
In conclusion, tackling a "Flowers for Algernon" essay demands a blend of literary analysis,
ethical consideration, and emotional insight. It is a task that, when approached with diligence
and passion, can lead to a nuanced and compelling exploration of the novel's themes. For those

Split Personality Of The Russian National Character Essay
Split Personality Of The Russian National Character Russian Empire, USSR, and
the smaller states of today, the largest one being Russia itself have had their due
share of a very healthy legacy and have been at the forefront of things. Russian
Empire was the last largest empire to have survived for so long and when that split
up things did not end there. It is a huge piece of land with marked difference in
every respect possible. The way they have contributed to the history and made history
is simply commendable. One keeps wondering when one sets to read about what is
expected and what is due. The history seems intriguing when we start considering the
Russian history. The Russiansrepresents a sort of split personality and the way things

The nation has been growing and building as the earlier parts of the essay suggest.
It had a lot of interaction and the growth brought in a lot of people from outside and
the races mixed and there were hybrids. So it is not and it never was one nation.
There were a lot of nations within that single nation and that is what made it all the
more complex. There was no single driving force and there was nothing to unite the.
No religion commonality, no language as being the same, even the origins was
different. It was bound to happen that the nation would have a split personality and it
did have that. There was a lot of dichotomy in the statements made and there was a
huge consensus as to how to eliminate the differences but this was something that
just was not possibly biologically speaking. Be it music or be it the style of
governance or even the type of architecture in the country. They all

Athena And Persuasion
The painting, Pandora by Arthur Rackham, portrays the At Zeus command, the
means of livelihood, fire, is hidden away from mankind. Though it is concealed,
Prometheus, son of Iapetus, deceives the king of the gods and takes fire back,
slipping by with it hidden in the hollow stalk of a fennel plant. When Zeusdiscovers
this insolence, he declares the punishment of Prometheus, as well as mankind: an evil
that they will willingly accept and welcome as it destroys. Immediately after
threatening, he turns to his brothers and sisters for help in the master scheme. He
commands Hephaestus to create a young maiden, in a fair goddess image, out of
earth and water, then orders Athena to teach the girl handcrafts and web weaving.

The girl unscrewed the jar, releasing the gods gifts upon mankind and scattering ruin

Theme Of The Awakening
Analayzing the novel The awakening , the protagonist can be seen in different
stages of her life: as a wife, as an artist, as a mother and as a woman. From the
beginning, the author gives a fair description of Edna: She was an American woman,
with a smal infusion of French which seemed to have been lost in dilution. (Chopin,
The awakening, pg. 9).
As a wife she seems not take care of the households as her husband expect to. He
also believes that she does not take good care of their children. Even though he
doesn t say her, he gives hints about what troubles him. Mr. Pontellier returned to his
wife with the information that Raoul had a high fever and needed looking after.(...)
He reproached his wife with her inattention, her habitual neglect of the children. If it
was not a mother s place to look after children, whose earth was it? (Chopin, The
awakening, pg.10)
Mrs. Pontellier then went to see how the child feels. She came back sad and went
outside. She was accustomed with these experiences but somehow, now it felt
differently, like a mood which troubled her. An indescribable oppression, which
seemed to generate in some unfamiliar part of her conscious ness, filled her whole
being with a vague anguish. It was like a shadow, like a mist passing across her soul
s summer day. (Chopin, The awakening, pg.11).
From the beginning, the heroine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

stay outside so she does. She heard him moving about the room; every sound
indicating impatience and irritation. Another time she would have gone in at his

submission or obedience to his compelling wishes, but unthinkingly, as we walk,

Using Literary Devices In The Sixth Sense
After recently watching The Sixth Sense I realized that there is a great use of
devices in the film. The Sixth Sense is about a child psychologist Dr. Malcolm,
who tries to help a child defeat his dark secret. I think this movie is a prime example
of using literary devices such as, foreshadowing and symbolism within the script. I
really enjoyed this filmfor these reasons and would recommend it everyone. There
are many instances in which these devices are used in the film, some are much more
noticeable than the others. This movie has a really high replay value because, you
always notice something new in regards to symbolism. Also the other view points
that you can see the story after knowing what happens in the dramatic ending. The
many uses... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The biggest aspect of foreshadowing used in this movie is the fact that Malcolm
only interacts with Cole during the entire movie after his death. This is something
that is hard to notice on the first time you watch this film. This aspect gives the
film high replay value. When Malcolm is sitting in the living room with Cole s
mother the viewer assumes that they are both talking when Cole arrives home
from school, when in reality she doesn t even notice Malcolm. When Malcolm
attends Cole s plays at his school no one asks him why he s there or anything at all.
My favorite example of this is, there are other parents recording the play and are
sitting directly behind Malcolm. If they were able to see him, Malcolm would be in
the way of the shot. The other parents see right through him because he is dead, I
think that this is brilliant foreshadowing for the twist at the end of the film. The
temperature change is one of the more obvious uses of foreshadowing in the movie.
The temperature dropped in the film when a ghost was upset. A the start of one of
the scenes, there is a close up on the thermostat changing to cold by itself. This is
foreshadowing on the upset ghosts that are about to visit
Response on War by Luigi Irony and Comments
1. b) The conflict in the story War is an internal conflict within the fat traveler. The
fat traveler lost his son and tried to hide his lamentation by being judicious. In the
story he gave a speech to the other parents who travelled on the train informing them
how their sons were born not only for the parents benefits. If country is a natural
necessity like bread, of which each of us must eat in order not to die of hunger,
somebody must go to defend it. Here the fat man advises the parents that if they
really do love their country sending their sons out to protect it should make them
feel proud. Everyone should stop crying: everyone should laugh, as I do... or at least
thank God, as I do, because my son.....the best way he could have... Show more

2. This story is about war but it does not talk about the battle field or soldiers who
are fighting for the war. To me the comment that I would make is a war can change
everything. War is as small as a sound of a gunshot, or as big as the damage
Chernobyl nuclear plant explosion can make. In the story War by Luigi Pirandello
what I can understand is that the changes that a war can make to individuals are
ineradicable and very hard to forget. The fat traveler tried so hard to forget about the
sorrow he has about losing his son. He put on a fake mask and pretended to comfort
the others when he needed comforting and compassion the most. In the end he finally
expressed the pain by bursting into tears that could not be controlled. In other words
human nature is to deny information that will create negative effects (in the story the
loss of son) and deny certain truth (in this case the fat man s son as he finally
realizes is gone forever). As another example the bitterness that the Jews suffered
from the Germans or the cruel crucifixion that the Chinese endured in the Second
World War from the Japanese is ingrained into history and everyone nation
/worldwide. Some of the pains are carried through generations of people and are
impossible to forget. A loss of a child is a loss of everything to many parents and the

Theme Of Love In A Rose For Emily And Andre Dubus s
Killings
Cause of Death: Love William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and Andre Dubus
Killings both explore themes of passion, crime, and morality. The violence
committed in both stories is deployed with both the threat of love and longing for
love. Killings portrays a father s love for his child and the desire to avenge his death.
However, the crime he has committed lef to self destruction and some sort of self
murder. The characteris an ironic position, since he was confronted with the fervent
desire to seek revenge and the guilt that guilt that came with it. Anger and
righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for
Emily portrays love as the main reason for the crime. In this story, the father
suppressed his daughter from seeking a husband, which eventually led to her killing
her love to find eternal love. These two stories are the same in some aspect in terms
of the theme which revolves around passion and crime. However, the character differs
greatly on the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings, the character felt
guilt and a sort of self death. The character in A Rose for Emily on the other hand,
died with no remorse for what she committed. The story of Killings by Andre Dubus,
centers on the theme of vengeance. The main character, Matt Fowler, plotted revenge
on the young man, Strout, who killed his son. The act of killing was more of a
private vengeance
Role of Christian Faith in Ancient and Contemporary

Role of Christian Faith in Ancient and Contemporary Turkey
Turkey?s population is nearly 99% Muslim, and even though Christianity is a clear
minority (1), Turkey has played a major role in the history of the Christian faith.?
Turkey is second in the number of Christian biblical sites, Israel being the first, so
Turkey contains a wealth of Christian history (2).?

became a secular republic in 1924, the building became a museum and many Christian

A Brief History of Christianity in Turkey:
?In 313 CE, under Roman rule, Emperor Constantine, who ruled in the land now
called Istanbul, Turkey, issued the Edict of Milan, which declared religious freedom
and tolerance for all religions, including Christianity.? The Edict finally ended the
many years of Christian persecution by the Romans. In 380, Roman Emperor
Theodosius declared that the doctrine of the Trinity as the official state religion and
passed a law that all subjects had to submit to this and no other religion.?? In the
Byzantine era, Christians began to question their faith and the many struggles
occurring between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Byzantine Church

Frozen
Frozen With a beautiful combination of catchy songs, life like animations, and an
incredibly well developed plot, this Disney animated film leaves the world frozen
in amazement. Released in December 2013, the movie Frozen speaks on being
different and of love. The main character, Anna, and her older sister, Elsa were
extremely close until Elsa s wintery powers of which she was born with almost got
Anna killed. While Anna held on to that relationship, Elsa had shut herself out in fear
of hurting someone. Things got worse as their parents, the king and the queen died
in a shipwreck, leaving the sisters more alone than ever. Years later, Elsa is forced to
interact with others during her coronation, the build up of emotions and feelings...

Frozen easily fills this requirement because who hasn t ever felt alone or different?
Anyone who is different, like Elsa, would be feared, mistreated, labeled, and
honestly, who s the same?Everyone is unique and different in their own way. In
society, people who are different are made fun of, excluded, judged, etc. Watching
Elsa go from fearing herself and isolating herself to accepting and loving herself
showed us who cares what others think? Who never felt shy or nervous like Anna
did before the ball. Everyone should be able to relate to at least one of the
characters in this movies and therefore Frozen would be deemed realistic. In the
eyes of Franzen and Groen, the movie Frozen would be considered quality art as it
contains realistic characters, realistic scenarios as life is tragic , and realistic and
relatable in general. Aside for that, Frozen is a top rated movie that everyone, not

Analysis Of The Mighty Ducks D2
Released in 1994, The Mighty Ducks D2, directed by Sam Weisman is a fictional
sequel based off The Mighty Ducks (1992). It is about a youth hockey team, The
Mighty Ducks, which are reunited to represent Team USA in an international
competition which takes place in Los Angeles, California. The main characters are
Coach Gordon Bombay played by Emilio Estevez, Charlie Conway played by Joshua
Jackson, as well as all the other members of the team who play pivotal roles in the
film. Mighty Ducks D2 was a film that played a vital role in influencing American
born hockey players, and kids from non traditional hockey markets to try hockey and
ultimately want to represent their country playing hockey. One of the main
contributing factors to the movies success was its Entertainment value. This is
comprised of the hook, action, suspense, and TR sequence. The movie opened with a
tremendous hook starting when former minor league player and coach Gordon
Bombay rounds up all the original members of The Mighty Ducksfrom various areas
and background to bring them back together to play for Team USA in The Junior
Goodwill Games. Action was heavily exemplified in all their games but emphasized
when they competed against the bigger, stronger, and heavily favorited Team
Iceland. They battle in the Championship game was filled with not only action but
suspense, and TR sequences. There were many massive hits, and penalties. Also,
they traded goals making it hard to predict who was going to end up
Training Delivery Should Be Made By The Geographic...
The cost element is tied up with the geographic dislocation of the team across a
quite large state. As the usually preferred method of training delivery is face to face
classrooms, costs quickly accrue through the use of airline flights, hire cars and
hotel stays. The dislocation can also result in problems if a person in one office
misunderstands the training, or chooses to ignore one aspect, and then subsequently
trains other in the immediate area incorrectly, or at least inconsistently, with all other
areas. While the constantly and quickly evolving workplace mean that it is not long
before a particular training session is obsolete or redundant, and the process needs
to begin again. Much of the training requirement in the CCG is regarding new
material and it is therefore more suited to the formal top down methods of training,
rather than informal peer to peer transmission of information. For this reason, and
with regard to the expense of travel, greater use should be made by the CCG of
online training. Online training offers benefits to both the trainer and trainee. The
trainer would only have to give one recorded presentation which could be uploaded
for viewing rather than presenting the same material multiple times around the state.
There is also greater flexibility for the trainees who are able to view the training
material at a time suitable for them (Strother 2002). Farmers Insurance Group also
report that rather than delivering large amounts of information all at
Analysis Of Traveling Through The Dark By William
Stafford
In the poem Traveling through the dark by William Stafford, he describes how he
came across a dead pregnant doe as he was driving his car along a mountain road. It
was a wined and narrow road so he decided it would be best if the deer was moved
into the canyon by the road to avoid more casualties. He conveyed the theme of
having to make a tough decision and that life goes on. When he noticed the deerwas
pregnant in stanzathree, he felt pity but knew he could not do anything to help the
doe or the fawn. His hesitation in the last sentence of stanza three was him thinking to
maybe save the fawn, but then to come to realization of there not being much he
could do but let nature take its course. Throughout the poem we see the narrator has

An Inside Look at Superconducting Qubits Essay
Superconducting Qubits
Introduction and Background
The quantum computation has remarkably improved since the use of quan tum
algorithms that have a run time which is exponentially faster compared to classical
algorithms. Implementation of theory for practical computation presents various
technological and scientific challenges. It is required that the Qubits be entirely free
from external noise while at the same time they need to be strongly coupled amongst
themselves using gates for computa tion. We need to construct the qubits such that
their degrees of freedom are independent of the noise in the environment. For example
electronic spins or spins of nuclei are isolated from surrounding noise. In

Superconductivity
On lowering the temperature of some metals (materials) to a scale of few kelvins the
electrons experience a net attractive force amongst themselves.
This is attraction is phonon mediated. As a result of bonding between two electrons
near the Fermi level the net energy decreases. The pair has a spin zero .The pairing
process changes the Fermi level and further formation of pairs takes place which
can all occupy the ground state(zero spin state not affected by Paulis exclusion
principle). The entire resistance less flow of cooper paired electrons is called as
supercurrent . The superconducting state is lower in energy from the normal material
state by an amount of energy called the superconducting energy gap. П€ = n0.5 eiОё

A junction formed by placing two superconducting chips with a thin insula tor in

Public Vocational Rehabilitation
A literature review illustrates how vital job placement services have been found to
be in the job employment assistance endeavors. The review of previous studies
reveals the receipt of placement services to be the strongest predictor of employment
outcomes (Fleming et al., 2014, p. 7). A 2006 study characterized job placement as
the driving force behind the vocational rehabilitation program (Fleming et al., 2014,
p. 7). According to the researchers, the public Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services
have attained the status of the most important vocational programs for persons with
disabilities (Fleming et al., 2014, p. 7). The authors cite the number of new
applicants [registered] nationally as 564,908, in the 2011 Fiscal Year alone, as proof
of the organization s heavy caseload of new clients (Fleming et al., 2014, p. 7). These
numbers indicate that rehabilitation services have been in high demand. Considering
the importance of the vocational programs in assisting the disabled clients who are in
need of employment, the authors determined that it was appropriate to examine the
different ways these services can be rendered. The methodology employed in this
study was a modified consensual qualitative research, undertaken through the use of
semistructured interviews conducted in accordance with CQR criteria. The study
researchers selected a total of thirty five employees from five different Rehabilitation

The Prison System Is Not Functioning Well
It has long been apparent that the UK s current prison system is not functioning
well. Although the HM Prison Service outline their purpose as we keep those
sentenced to prison in custody, helping them lead law abiding and useful lives, both
while they are in prison and after they are released (Gov.uk, 2016), currently nearly
half of all prisoners go on to re offend within a year, which costs society ВЈ15 billion
a year (Ministry of Justice, 2016). In addition, last summer, the Chief Inspector of
Prisons warned that jails in England and Waleswere in their worst state for a decade
(HM Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales, 2015) with sharp rises in
inmate violence, increasing drug use, staff shortages and squalid conditions.
Therefore there is no doubt that the prisonsystem is in urgent need of reform.
Last month, Elizabeth Truss outlined planned reforms to the prison system in a
government proposal, Prison Security and Reform she labelled the blueprint for the
biggest overhaul of our prisons in a generation . She outlined plans for a governor
led approach, in which prison governors will have the power to opt out of national
contracts, and make their own resource allocation decisions. Six reform prisons with
these features are already being trialled around the country, but it is too early to judge
their impact. (Ministry of Justice, 2016). Autonomy is expected to empower staff,
improve standards and lead to a reduction in reoffending. The idea came from
Patriot Missile Crisis
Intro Ballistic missile defense became a necessity after World War II when
Germany developed and launched several missiles at targets around Europe.
During the Cold War, the United States and Russia began developing technologies
to build and use long range missiles at a moment s notice. Before the Gulf War and
Desert Storm there were no systems to defend against theater ballistic missiles or
TBM s. The Patriot missile system had been developed in the 1970 s to counter
threats from enemy aircrafts. Shortly before the Gulf War, testing and production
of the first PAC1 missiles had begun to be used against Short range missiles. The
use of the Patriot system had a huge impact to the success of the Gulf War and
Desert Storm by defending US and coalition assets in Saudi Arabia and Israel from
Scud Missile attacks by Iraqi Forces. Before World War II a German engineer,
Wernher von Braun, had begun working on rocket designs that eventually led to the
development and launch of over 3000... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The impact only caused relatively small amounts of injuries and deaths but Israel
was inclined to retaliate. On 18 January 1991, the first interception of tactical
ballistic missiles in combat occurred. Alpha Battery, 2 7 ADA successfully
intercepted Iraqi Scuds. The interceptions strengthened the trust in the Patriot system.
On 21 and 22 January, Patriot crews engaged more tactical ballistic missiles. As
Patriot successfully engaged more tactical ballistic missiles, there were fewer Scud
launches. Air Defense became a key component in collation planning. Air Defense
units were attached to the majority of ground units on the front lines moving into
Iraq. Patriot proved their mobility while attached to the 3rd Armored Cavalry and
the XVIII Airborne during the Hail Mary sweep into Iraq. Patriot moved and
provided air defense during one of Desert Storm s most intense

Paradise Lost is an expanded story based on the first page of Genesis in the Bible.
Milton explains how Adam and Eve are created and how they lose their place in the
Garden of Eden, also known as paradise. Milton s version is a narrative poem written
in great detail using Biblical references, mythological references and literary
references, often known as allusions.
Milton uses many biblical references throughout the poem because everyone is
familiar with the bible. The narrator states, Of Man s first disobedience, and the fruit
Of that forbidden tree, whose mortal taste Brought death into the world (Milton 1).
He is briefly stating how Adam and Eve disobeys god, and how their fall from grace
starts with a fruit. This is a direct reference from the Bible stating And the LORD
god said, The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must
not be allowed to reach out and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live
forever (Genesis 3:22). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
God is almighty and Satan or Lucifer is the antagonist which are the two main
characters in each poem. The three headed breast also known as satan also rules the
underworld. The narrator states whom the Arch Enemy, And thence in Heaven called
Satan, with bold words Breaking the horrid silence, thus began (Milton 3) labeling
satan gods arch enemy and letting the reader know that satan is despised. The
narrator also states he whom mutual league, United thoughts and counsels, equal
hope And hazard in the glorious enterprise, Joined with me once, now misery hath
joined In equal ruin! Into what pit thou seest, (Milton 4) he is calling hell the
horrible place in which you would hate to go just as it is called in Dante s
The War Of France And Louis Xiv
The wars in France were one of the main causes to which economic distress arose.
France did not just simply acquire a substantial debt suddenly which led to
economic distress but gradually over time the financial situation in France
worsened due to events such as the Seven Years War 1756 1763, American
Revolution 1775 1783 and The Nine Years War (1688 1697) which would lead to
long term negative financial implications for France. Louis XIV had extended
France s power into Central Europe and North America. This power came about
through wars which landed France with a self inflicted debt which would cripple
its economy. When Louis XIV died in 1715 the state of the economy was dire and
the subsequent fiscal decisions by Louis XV and Louis XVI aggravated the
situation. France was in a constant state of war and debt and the immunity of taxes
on the nobility and clergy deprived France of funds that it so desperately needed.
France s status as superpower was at threat as Russia, Prussia and above all Great
Britain where becoming increasingly powerful, Frances strong desire to retain this
power explains the ill advised and catastrophic foreign policies it had adopted. In the
American war of independence in 1775 to 1783 France directed its forces to assist
the Americans. French aid was pivotal in compelling the British to surrender at
Yorktown in 1781. However although the Americans gained much from France s
support it led to no successful tangible results for France but it had

Characterization Of One Dimensional Vapex
Characterization of one dimensional VAPEX
Figure 1 shows a model of Vapex Process modeled in a vertical thin sandpack
(cylindrical), which is saturated with heavy oil. Solvent Injector and oil producer
are placed at the bottom of the sandpack. When solvent is injected, it moves
upwards due to buoyancy and comes in contact with the heavy oil and heavy oil is
extracted and diluted and drained downward by gravity force.
We make these following assumptions for our 1D VAPEX Process:
1.We have 2 areas: 2 phase area and 1 phase area, and they are divided by the
interface between solvent chamber and transition zone;
2.The solvent chamber is filled with diluted oil (saturated oil) which is in liquid phase
and the gaseous solvent vapor;

The correlation between diffusion coefficient and the concentration of solvent (light
hydrocarbon) in crude oil is usually expressed via the viscosity of the heavy
oilв€’solvent mixture. The dependence of the viscosity on the solvent concentration
was proposed by Lederer [3] (3) where Shu [4] formulated the following correlation
to determine the weighting factor, О», for a mixture of heavy oil and light
hydrocarbons where Оіo and Оіs are the specific gravities of the crude oil and liquid
solvent, respectively.
The diffusion coefficient is usually correlated with viscosity as

DпЂЁuпЂ©пЂЅauпЂb (4) where a and b are both constants depending on the
properties of oil and gas sample as well as the operation condition (pressure and
temperature). Hayduk and and Dasв€’Butler proposed different correlations for

very beneficial because these conditions can be chronic and require many

Therefore, Matsushita created a small business environment in which all MEI s
divisions could maintain its growth and flexibility. The core of Matsushita s
divisional structure was One product One Division system in which each product line
was managed by a separate autonomous division that was expected to operate as if it
were an independent corporation. Corporate management provided division with
initial fund, and the corporate treasury operated essentially like a commercial bank.
Divisions deposit their excess funds and received normal market interest. Request for
additional corporate funds to meet expansion plans were submitted as loan
applications to the central finance department. This organizational system generate a
high level of internal competition among divisions, and helped drive new product
development that managers saw as their best way to maintain long term growth and
profitability. The need to fund new product development also drove managers to
maximize performance of existing products.
MEI managed the international business by categorizing its overseas branches and
plants into three groups: The A group, the wholly owned single product global
sourcing plants that reported primarily to the relevant product divisions of MEI and
were tightly controlled by them; the B group was the multi product sales and
manufacturing subsidiaries that reported to corporate overseas management (COM);

Collegiate Level And Entering The Nba Draft
In the summer of 2006, the NBA instituted the one and done rule prohibiting high
school graduated from bypassing the collegiate level and entering the NBA Draft.
To be more specific, this rule states that high school graduates will gain eligibility
for the draft, one year after their high school graduation as long as they turn 19
years old by the end of the calendar year. This means players are not constricted to
going to the collegiate level, but may choose to player overseas for a year while
they wait for their NBA draft eligibility. The NBA claims this rule helps athletes gain
maturity, further their education, while rather this rule was put into place as a way to
help the NCAA increase profit and competition.
The argument for instituting the one and done rule was to provide players with the
ability to become more mature and develop rather than these players making the
monumental jump from a small town directly to being the hottest commodity in
town. The NBA argued that this would make more mature players and provide them
a better ability to handle the pressures that come with being a celebrity. However,
from 2002 2005, there was only one more disappointment or bust compared to 2006

The Issues Of Technology And Technology
Introduction
Within this essay the issues to be discussed are problems about technology.
Information technology is very important in today s world and is used daily by
many people all across the continents. Information technology has its pros and cons
like other technology does, but one of the major problems are security and privacy.
The main issue of this topic would be cyber threats to computer networks. Examples
are threats involving denial of service attacks, malicious software, sniffers and more.
About Technology
Technology is a very important aspect in life that is used on a daily basis. Technology
is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. There are many
different types of technology used throughout the world today. Some are assistive
technology used by individuals with disabilities, medical technology that refers to the
diagnostic or therapeutic application of science and technology to improve
management of health conditions, Communication technology, Information
technology, transport technology and defense technology. Information technology is
a term that contains all forms of technology that are used to create, store, exchange,
and use information in its various forms. Examples are those such as business data,
voice conversations, still images, motion pictures and much more.
Information technology can be used in a good or bad way in today s world. It can
help to promote stability and security or it can threaten security at the same time.
Innovation Placement Of A Good Or Service Into The
Market...
Innovation placement of a good or service into the market that patrons can buy
(Pearce Robinson, 2011, p. 371). There are 2 types of innovation that a firm can
experience which include incremental and breakthrough. It s important of
organizations and leaders to aware of the associated differences and risks involved as
one fuels the other. The following essay will discuss the aforementioned
characteristics. There are a few difference between the innovation types. First,
incremental innovation is the act of making small, simple changes to products,
services or processes, whereas, breakthrough innovation is an out of the ordinary
development that create a new product or market (Pearce Robinson, 2011, p. 371).
Typically, incremental... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another difference is that incremental innovation is discovered on the demand side
of the value chain, whereas, breakthrough is created on the supply side (Marshall,
2013). This is because incremental innovation is a response to customer needs or
wants as they are already familiar with the product, hence, the demand sparks the
supply side of the value chain. There are a few risks associated with both incremental
and breakthrough innovation. With incremental innovation, lack of coordination and
time, lack of trained employees, not choosing the correct ideas, not enough customer
insight, poor planning, and incentives are not tied to innovation, and support not
given to employees by management could cause the innovation process to be
unsuccessful (Kadareja, 2013). In my opinion, these risk could be minimized because
the company has the most control over these risks. For instance, a company can train
/ hire knowledgeable individuals, as well as, support and incentivizes employees. On
the other hand, breakthrough innovation are not as manageable in my opinion. These
risks include: availability of and high development cost, unknown demand in the
market, economic risk, long development times, competitive pressure or market is
dominated by an existing business, copy right issues, and ability to meet regulatory
statutes (Kadareja, 2013). For
Wollstonecraft s Vindication Of The Rights Of Women
There are strong contrasting views on the concept of education and relation when
reading Wollstonecraft s Vindication of the Rights of Women, Rousseau s Second
Discourse, and The Analects of Confucius. While Wollstonecraft and Confucius have
similar views on the necessity of education to achieve virtue, Rousseau views
education as a source of corruption and vice.
In Wollstonecraft s Vindication of the Right of Women education is a tool used to
gain freedom and be proactive in determining one s fate. Wollstonecraft states that it
is a farce to call any being virtuous whose virtues do not result from the exercise of
its own reason (12). This means that in the eyes of Wollstonecraft is being proactive
in determining your fate, which she considers a virtue. However, the only way to
control your fate is to educate themselves about the society they live in(11). Through
this education one is able to come to their on conclusions on what is right, and
wrong as well as define virtues for themselves. With this freedom an individual has
the ability to lay laws upon themselves and follow them, which Wollstonecraft
considered a great virtue. This relationship between virtue and education greatly
contributes to her belief that women should be able to receive an education like that
of a man. For Wollstonecraft education equates to freedom and freedom to determine
one s life is virtuous. However, under oppressive patriarchy women are restricted
from receiving equal education, which in
The Portrayal Of The Movie Boyz N The Hood
The portrayal of crimes in all various forms of media are mostly exaggerated and
tend to overstay there welcome. When a crime gets reported on the news or any
other media they tend to focus on violent crimes only. Most focus sole on crimes in
poor neighborhoods and only on certain race and genders. When a crimeis portrayed
in movies or in video games it is usually unrealistic and tend to be blown out of
proportion for the viewers to get them hooked. Once in a while there are good
types of media that can correctly describe crimes. Boyz n the Hood is a story about
a group of friends who have to struggle and cope to live in the hard streets of
Crenshaw, located in Los Angeles. In the film their friend gets killed by a group of
blood members and they seek revenge at the end of the film by killing the culprits
cold bloodedly with an AK 47. There are numerous theories described in the books
and modules that can help explain why the characters in the film committed the
murder and crimes depicted in the film. I think this movie depicts crime and the
neighborhood where it is committed very well. It shows the struggles that people
must live through when they grow up around those rural areas. The film has two
characters who each show a different outcome and picture of how the people around
us can change and influence what we do and how we end up. One theory that can
explain the final scene in the movie in which the character Doughboy kills the three
members of the bloods is the
The First Amendment Speaks On The Freedoms Of Religion
Hannah Bing
Judy Hatcher
WRIT 3037
17 October 2016
Free Art The First Amendment speaks on the freedoms of religion, speech, press,
assembly and petition; so important, they found their place in the US Constitution.
Even with these freedoms meaning so much to the majority of America, somehow
today we still encounter differences in political and religious views that seem to
provoke people to act violently against a piece of art or even physically against the
artist that created it such as in the recent case of artist Illma Gore. Often the violent
action of destroying a work of art is more offensive than the image itself. We should
allow artists free reign of subject matter as well as style and work together to prevent
art desecration and violence through education of the arts. Censorship is the result of
the fear of art. When the fear of art turns into iconoclasm or, rejection of a valued
belief system, that fear becomes lack of government funding, desecration, and
physical violence.
Visual artists fell through the gaps and did not receive federal support for their work
until the creation of the NEA or National Endowment for the Arts in 1965. This
federal program had little funding but proved a growing interest in art and art
viewing from the public. This demand for art creates a demand for funds to support
venues and museums so they can keep their doors open. A problem with the NEA is
that they provide government funding, which prevents them from being biased about
Atropine Research Paper
Thousands of years ago, ancient civilizations made use of a particular plant that can
be commonly found in the Mediterranean region of Western Europe. This plant, with
its stunning purple bell shaped flowers and dark, juicy berries (1), has earned a
reputation throughout history for being one of the most poisonous plants that can be
encountered in nature (Figure 1). Eating just ten of the berries can prove fatal, and
the leaves and roots of the plantcan be even more poisonous (1). Aware of its
deadliness, the ancient Romans exploited the plant s toxicity by dipping their
arrowheads in juices from the berries, and countless assassinations were
accomplished by tainting food and drink with the extracts from the plant (2, 3). Not

Atropine is widely used today in the treatment of a condition called uveitis, which
is an inflammation of the middle layer of the eye. Atropine significantly reduces
the amount of muscle contractions within the inflamed eye. This greatly reduces
the pain associated with the condition (18). Another well known use for atropine is
in the treatment of amblyopia, a condition that is commonly known as lazy eye. In
this condition, one of the eyes has strong ciliary muscles that are able to change
the shape of the lens and accommodate to see near images, while the other eye is
much weaker and is unable to focus properly. This causes the stronger eye to play a
larger role in visual acuity than the weaker eye, which can lead to headaches,
eyestrain, and deterioration of proper vision in both eyes. Optometrists often treat
this condition by applying atropine to the stronger eye, which significantly reduces
contraction of the ciliary muscle so that the ability to accommodate is weakened
and near vision in that eye is blurry. This forces the weaker eye to be used for near
vision, which helps to strengthen the muscles of the weaker eye
Advantages Of Star Wars Movies
Space, it s the final frontier. However, even now, many science fiction fanatics and
casual watchers alike will argue about which frontier is superior: the Star Wars
films, or the Star Trek television franchise. While the Star Wars movies are not bad,
there are several reasons as to why the Star Trek series are better. From instances of
technology, to plot, to character, even to cultural influence, I wholeheartedly believe
that Star Trek is light years better than Star Wars. First released in 1977, the Star
Wars movies are good, and that is all. At the time, the films were regarded as
storytelling and special effect masterpieces, but forty years later, those feats that once
defined them are no longer special. Though thought by some to... Show more content

Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the

Already, they specifically label the Galactic Empire as villainous and introduce the
Rebel alliance as the heroes. While the idea of a battle of good and evil is not a
bad one, it is not new, and it is not as complex or relatable as the progressive Star

many layers of depth. In Star Wars, Luke Skywalker is the protagonist boyish hero

Why waste matters
What is waste? Waste is what all humans on earth throw away into their garbage bins
or onto the side of the road. Everything that humans use and consume eventually turns
into waste and must go somewhere. This process of using the Earth s natural
resources and then throwing them away shortly after will not be sustainable and
measures must be taken to help the environment.
There are massive implications with waste being neglected. When waste is sent to
land fills some of it anaerobically rots and creates methane, which is 20 times more
potent then carbon
Impact Of Innovation On Public Sector
Bason,C (2010) uses the term public sector innovation to refer to the process of
creating new ideas and turning them into value for society .(Bason,2010) then goes
on to discuss about the value public sector innovation holds and asserts that the public
sector has four major components: productive, service experience, results and
democracy. (Bason, 2010, p.34)
There is evidence that innovation plays a crucial role in regulating in the public sector
. Recent developments in public sector organisations have heightened the need for
innovation, so this essay seeks to examine the use of innovation in key public sector
institutions, e.g. healthcare and will also identify the challenges and advantages of
co production/personalisation and innovation in the public sector.
Public sector innovation has less connotations with new product development and is
more greatly linked to enhancing efficiency and quality of outcome. It consists of
internal organisational procedures and structures leading, for instance to innovative
ways to customer services which is commonly labelled as client service innovation or
examples such as new methods to attain clients which is also described as marketing
innovation . (Chryssou, 2014)
Pivotal examples of innovation include, new technological use, the desire towards
public centric procedures with the outlook to provide uncomplicated services and
more suitability. Additionally, employee empowerment which refers to granting staff
permission to have
Research in the Area of Sinuous Antennas
We conducted a literature review as a part of our study, of recent research in the area
of sinuous antennas. From the review, it is clear that sinuous antennas are very useful
due to their wideband ability and dual polarized application. Hence, we can find a
number of applications where these antennas are being used. Waldschmidt et al.1
have conducted a study and evaluated the use of the sinuous antennafor wideband
multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and diversity applications. They found that
in addition to being extremely broadband the sinuous antennas are also very compact.
In fact, they found that when placing dipoles on the same space required by the
sinuous antennas, that the sinuous would reach much greater capacities for
multimode based MIMO systems. Edwards and Rebeiz2 utilized the sinuous antenna
type placement on a silicon dielectric lens. The lens had a diameter of 50.8 mm
necessitating a compact design. They chose the four arm sinuous antenna
configuration as an alternative to traditional log periodic antennas, which suffer from
polarization variation versus frequency and high cross polarization levels. Their
results have shown that the lens coupled sinuous antennas do exhibit polarization
stability and low cross polarization levels over a wide band. In addition, the antenna

Teenagers And Technology
Technology is involved in every aspect of our lives even if we don t seem to
realize it. Whether it inspires somebody to be a professional gamer or a computer
hacker, it has changed the generation we live in today. In order to understand
technology, a common definition is the branch of knowledge that deals with the
creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society and the
environment (Dictionary). According to a CNN report, teenagers tend to spend
about 9 hours a day on social media (Wallace, 2015) To put this statistic more in
context, teens typically sleep 9 hours a night. This means teenagers are spending the
same amount of time on technology than they are sleeping. James Steyer, a chief
executive officer, highlights this issue and states, It just shows you that these kids
live in this 24/7 digital mediatechnology world, and its shaping every aspect of
their life. This is the dominant intermediary in their life (Wallace, 2015). The
social media platforms that teenagers seem to be browsing the most are Facebook,
Instagram and Snapchat. Facebook is the most used social media site where 71%
of all teens between the ages of 13 to 17 use, while 52% use Instagram and 41% use
Snapchat (White, 2017, p.16). All these platforms are used for the enjoyment of
teenagers and aren t necessary in adding quality to their lives.
Teens use social media in many different forms. The first major form is relational
interactions. Many teenagers only see their
The Death Of The Black Death
In the 1300s, the Black Death swept across the western world, leaving behind a
different perspective on the world. The Black Death rampaged through cities, killing
thousands of people a day, leaving the remaining citizens distraught. With the
multitude of death, many people began to contemplate what the afterlife held in store
for them. Therefore, pieces like the Dance of Death, transi tombs, the Three Living
and Three Dead, and many other artistic expressions about death began to appear.
The artistic elements illustrate a complex combination of similarities and difference.
However, the central theme focused on the inevitable fate of mankind. The Black
Death did not exclude anyone from its rampage; it was simply an epidemic caste
upon the western world. Death is something that no one can escape from; this notion
is demonstrated in The Dance of Death. The Dance of Death was originally a dance
performed in attempt to preserve the town from being affected by the Black Death.
Another report of the dance was, ...in 1374 a dancing mania seized hundreds of
people in German and Flemish towns. The people periodically interrupted their dance
to fall to the ground and allow onlookers to trample them in the belief that this would
cure them of their extreme oppression, although it is nowhere stated that this was the
disease. Later, the dance was translated into painting forms that depicted people in
every age range and social statues dancing with death. These paintings represented

higher taxes on every one and low incomes (Viking, 2009). With this most families
cannot afford the prices that Ralph Lauren has to offer.
Sociocultural factors are society s norms, cultures and values. This may impact Ralph
Lauren because the company has to learn the demographics of different areas. The
demographics show the different characteristics and attributes of people so
companies such as ours can understand the buying power of the people. When the
company learns this information they can determine whether or not products will
appeal to customers and how many potential customers for these products might
arise. Also with the growing trends of people and different styles Ralph Lauren has
to make various pieces to fit all their needs.
Technological factors capture the application of knowledge to create new processes

From the beginning, the author gives a fair description of Edna: She was an American woman, with a smal infusion of French which seemed to have been lost in dilution. (Chopin, The awakening, pg. 9). As a wife she seems not take care of the households as her husband expect to. He also believes that she does not take good care of their children. Even though he doesn t say her, he gives hints about what troubles him. Mr. Pontellier returned to his wife with the information that Raoul had a high fever and needed looking after.(...) He reproached his wife with her inattention, her habitual neglect of the children. If it was not a mother s place to look after children, whose earth was it? (Chopin, The awakening, pg.10) Mrs. Pontellier then went to see how the child feels. She came back sad and went outside. She was accustomed with these experiences but somehow, now it felt differently, like a mood which troubled her. The Sixth Sense is about a child psychologist Dr. Malcolm, who tries to help a child defeat his dark secret. I think this movie is a prime example of using literary devices such as, foreshadowing and symbolism within the script. I really enjoyed this filmfor these reasons and would recommend it everyone. There are many instances in which these devices are used in the film, some are much more noticeable than the others. This movie has a really high replay value because, you always notice something new in regards to symbolism. Also the other view points that you can see the story after knowing what happens in the dramatic ending. The many uses... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The biggest aspect of foreshadowing used in this movie is the fact that Malcolm only interacts with Cole during the entire movie after his death. This is something that is hard to notice on the first time you watch this film. This aspect gives the film high replay value. When Malcolm is sitting in the living room with Cole s mother the viewer assumes that they are both talking when Cole arrives home from school, when in reality she doesn t even notice Malcolm. When Malcolm attends Cole s plays at his school no one asks him why he s there or anything at all. My favorite example of this is, there are other parents recording the play and are sitting directly behind Malcolm. If they were able to see him, Malcolm would be in the way of the shot. The other parents see right through him because he is dead, I think that this is brilliant foreshadowing for the twist at the end of the film. The temperature change is one of the more obvious uses of foreshadowing in the movie. The temperature dropped in the film when a ghost was upset. A the start of one of the scenes, there is a close up on the thermostat changing to cold by itself. This is foreshadowing on the upset ghosts that are about to visit

The fat traveler lost his son and tried to hide his lamentation by being judicious. In the story he gave a speech to the other parents who travelled on the train informing them how their sons were born not only for the parents benefits. If country is a natural necessity like bread, of which each of us must eat in order not to die of hunger, somebody must go to defend it. This story is about war but it does not talk about the battle field or soldiers who are fighting for the war. To me the comment that I would make is a war can change everything. War is as small as a sound of a gunshot, or as big as the damage Chernobyl nuclear plant explosion can make. In the story War by Luigi Pirandello what I can understand is that the changes that a war can make to individuals are ineradicable and very hard to forget. The fat traveler tried so hard to forget about the sorrow he has about losing his son. He put on a fake mask and pretended to comfort the others when he needed comforting and compassion the most. In the end he finally expressed the pain by bursting into tears that could not be controlled. In other words human nature is to deny information that will create negative effects (in the story the loss of son) and deny certain truth (in this case the fat man s son as he finally realizes is gone forever). As another example the bitterness that the Jews suffered from the Germans or the cruel crucifixion that the Chinese endured in the Second World War from the Japanese is ingrained into history and everyone nation /worldwide. Some of the pains are carried through generations of people and are impossible to forget. A loss of a child is a loss of everything to many parents and the fat man is

Theme Of Love In A Rose For Emily And Andre Dubus s Killings Cause of Death: Love William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and Andre Dubus Killings both explore themes of passion, crime, and morality. The violence committed in both stories is deployed with both the threat of love and longing for love. Killings portrays a father s love for his child and the desire to avenge his death. However, the crime he has committed lef to self destruction and some sort of self murder. The characteris an ironic position, since he was confronted with the fervent desire to seek revenge and the guilt that guilt that came with it. Anger and righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for Emily portrays love as the main reason for the crime. In this story, the father suppressed his daughter from seeking a husband, which eventually led to her killing her love to find eternal love. These two stories are the same in some aspect in terms of the theme which revolves around passion and crime. However, the character differs greatly on the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings, the character felt guilt and a sort of self death. The character in A Rose for Emily on the other hand, died with no remorse for what she committed. The story of Killings by Andre Dubus, centers on the theme of vengeance. The main character, Matt Fowler, plotted revenge on the young man, Strout, who killed his son. The act of killing was more of a private vengeance

As the usually preferred method of training delivery is face to face classrooms, costs quickly accrue through the use of airline flights, hire cars and hotel stays. The dislocation can also result in problems if a person in one office misunderstands the training, or chooses to ignore one aspect, and then subsequently trains other in the immediate area incorrectly, or at least inconsistently, with all other areas. While the constantly and quickly evolving workplace mean that it is not long before a particular training session is obsolete or redundant, and the process needs to begin again. For this reason, and with regard to the expense of travel, greater use should be made by the CCG of online training. Online training offers benefits to both the trainer and trainee. Louis XIV had extended France s power into Central Europe and North America. This power came about through wars which landed France with a self inflicted debt which would cripple its economy. When Louis XIV died in 1715 the state of the economy was dire and the subsequent fiscal decisions by Louis XV and Louis XVI aggravated the situation. However, in 1987, under new circumstances, such as the change Yen prices, and the pressure of integration of information technologies that need international transfers, sharing, and synergies, MEI s faced declines in sales and profits because its structure was exposed some weakness. Corporate management provided division with initial fund, and the corporate treasury operated essentially like a commercial bank. Collegiate Level And Entering The Nba Draft In the summer of 2006, the NBA instituted the one and done rule prohibiting high school graduated from bypassing the collegiate level and entering the NBA Draft. To be more specific, this rule states that high school graduates will gain eligibility for the draft, one year after their high school graduation as long as they turn 19 years old by the end of the calendar year. This means players are not constricted to going to the collegiate level, but may choose to player overseas for a year while they wait for their NBA draft eligibility. The NBA claims this rule helps athletes gain maturity, further their education, while rather this rule was put into place as a way to help the NCAA increase profit and competition. The argument for instituting the one and done rule was to provide players with the ability to become more mature and develop rather than these players making the monumental jump from a small town directly to being the hottest commodity in town. The NBA argued that this would make more mature players and provide them a better ability to handle the pressures that come with being a celebrity. Information technology is very important in today s world and is used daily by many people all across the continents. Information technology has its pros and cons like other technology does, but one of the major problems are security and privacy. The main issue of this topic would be cyber threats to computer networks. Examples are threats involving denial of service attacks, malicious software, sniffers and more. About Technology Technology is a very important aspect in life that is used on a daily basis. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. There are many different types of technology used throughout the world today. Some are assistive technology used by individuals with disabilities, medical technology that refers to the diagnostic or therapeutic application of science and technology to improve management of health conditions, Communication technology, Information technology, transport technology and defense technology. Information technology is a term that contains all forms of technology that are used to create, store, exchange, and use information in its various forms. There are 2 types of innovation that a firm can experience which include incremental and breakthrough. It s important of organizations and leaders to aware of the associated differences and risks involved as one fuels the other. The following essay will discuss the aforementioned characteristics. There are a few difference between the innovation types. First, incremental innovation is the act of making small, simple changes to products, services or processes, whereas, breakthrough innovation is an out of the ordinary development that create a new product or market (Pearce Robinson, 2011, p. 371). Typically, incremental... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another difference is that incremental innovation is discovered on the demand side of the value chain, whereas, breakthrough is created on the supply side (Marshall, 2013). This is because incremental innovation is a response to customer needs or wants as they are already familiar with the product, hence, the demand sparks the supply side of the value chain. There are a few risks associated with both incremental and breakthrough innovation. With incremental innovation, lack of coordination and time, lack of trained employees, not choosing the correct ideas, not enough customer insight, poor planning, and incentives are not tied to innovation, and support not given to employees by management could cause the innovation process to be unsuccessful (Kadareja, 2013). In my opinion, these risk could be minimized because the company has the most control over these risks. For instance, a company can train / hire knowledgeable individuals, as well as, support and incentivizes employees. On the other hand, breakthrough innovation are not as manageable in my opinion. These risks include: availability of and high development cost, unknown demand in the market, economic risk, long development times, competitive pressure or market is dominated by an existing business, copy right issues, and ability to meet regulatory statutes (Kadareja, 2013). While Wollstonecraft and Confucius have similar views on the necessity of education to achieve virtue, Rousseau views education as a source of corruption and vice. In Wollstonecraft s Vindication of the Right of Women education is a tool used to gain freedom and be proactive in determining one s fate. Wollstonecraft states that it is a farce to call any being virtuous whose virtues do not result from the exercise of its own reason (12). This means that in the eyes of Wollstonecraft is being proactive in determining your fate, which she considers a virtue. However, the only way to control your fate is to educate themselves about the society they live in(11). Through this education one is able to come to their on conclusions on what is right, and wrong as well as define virtues for themselves. With this freedom an individual has the ability to lay laws upon themselves and follow them, which Wollstonecraft considered a great virtue. This relationship between virtue and education greatly contributes to her belief that women should be able to receive an education like that of a man. For Wollstonecraft education equates to freedom and freedom to determine one s life is virtuous. However, under oppressive patriarchy women are restricted from receiving equal education, which in

The First Amendment Speaks On The Freedoms Of Religion Hannah Bing Judy Hatcher WRIT 3037 17 October 2016 Free Art The First Amendment speaks on the freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly and petition; so important, they found their place in the US Constitution. Even with these freedoms meaning so much to the majority of America, somehow today we still encounter differences in political and religious views that seem to provoke people to act violently against a piece of art or even physically against the artist that created it such as in the recent case of artist Illma Gore. Often the violent action of destroying a work of art is more offensive than the image itself. We should allow artists free reign of subject matter as well as style and work together to prevent art desecration and violence through education of the arts. Censorship is the result of the fear of art. When the fear of art turns into iconoclasm or, rejection of a valued belief system, that fear becomes lack of government funding, desecration, and physical violence. Visual artists fell through the gaps and did not receive federal support for their work until the creation of the NEA or National Endowment for the Arts in 1965. This federal program had little funding but proved a growing interest in art and art viewing from the public. This demand for art creates a demand for funds to support venues and museums so they can keep their doors open. A problem with the NEA is that they provide government funding, which prevents them from being biased about

This plant, with its stunning purple bell shaped flowers and dark, juicy berries (1), has earned a reputation throughout history for being one of the most poisonous plants that can be encountered in nature (Figure 1). Eating just ten of the berries can prove fatal, and the leaves and roots of the plantcan be even more poisonous (1). Not surprisingly,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Atropine is widely used today in the treatment of a condition called uveitis, which is an inflammation of the middle layer of the eye. Atropine significantly reduces the amount of muscle contractions within the inflamed eye. This greatly reduces the pain associated with the condition (18). Another well known use for atropine is in the treatment of amblyopia, a condition that is commonly known as lazy eye. In this condition, one of the eyes has strong ciliary muscles that are able to change the shape of the lens and accommodate to see near images, while the other eye is much weaker and is unable to focus properly. This causes the stronger eye to play a larger role in visual acuity than the weaker eye, which can lead to headaches, eyestrain, and deterioration of proper vision in both eyes. Optometrists often treat this condition by applying atropine to the stronger eye, which significantly reduces contraction of the ciliary muscle so that the ability to accommodate is weakened and near vision in that eye is blurry. This forces the weaker eye to be used for near vision, which helps to strengthen the muscles of the weaker eye

From the review, it is clear that sinuous antennas are very useful due to their wideband ability and dual polarized application. Hence, we can find a number of applications where these antennas are being used. Waldschmidt et al.1 have conducted a study and evaluated the use of the sinuous antennafor wideband multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and diversity applications. They found that in addition to being extremely broadband the sinuous antennas are also very compact. In fact, they found that when placing dipoles on the same space required by the sinuous antennas, that the sinuous would reach much greater capacities for multimode based MIMO systems. Edwards and Rebeiz2 utilized the sinuous antenna type placement on a silicon dielectric lens. The lens had a diameter of 50.8 mm necessitating a compact design. They chose the four arm sinuous antenna configuration as an alternative to traditional log periodic antennas, which suffer from polarization variation versus frequency and high cross polarization levels. Their results have shown that the lens coupled sinuous antennas do exhibit polarization stability and low cross polarization levels over a wide band. In addition, the antenna is very efficient, radiating only 5% of its total power to its backside. A much more recent application from Suzuki et al.3, again utilizes the silicon lens coupled sinuous antenna as a
