1) Coupled microdisk lasers were fabricated in three configurations: circular disks, elliptical disks coupled along the long axis, and elliptical disks coupled along the short axis. 2) Finite-difference time-domain simulations predicted polarized light emission from the coupled circular disks, with bonding modes polarized perpendicular to the coupling axis and antibonding modes polarized along it. 3) Experimental results showed polarized stimulated emission from the coupled circular disks that matched the simulation. Polarized lasing was also observed from the elliptical disk configurations.
