Editor's Notes
The maturity curve shown in this chart clearly shows that the majority of manufacturers are still in the emerging phase working on establishment of connectivity for their installed base. Some leading players like Philips Medical and GE Healthcare have reached the maturity level, which is transforming raw data into useful information, organizing and analyzing this information and thereby improving operational performance. Very few players are working already in the “Adult” Phase, where Knowledge Management and Value Added Smart Service lead to new Service Driven Business. This chart has been presented by Silvertrain (a consulting company) at the last Smart Remote Service Conference in February 2008 in San Diego.
This chart has been taken from the most recent report of the Aberdeen Group on the current maturity state of Remote Product Services. It clearly shows the major reasons for them to implement Remote Product Services.
The most important applications manufacturers have implemented based on remote services are shown here.
Here you see examples of useful information that can be derived from aggregated operational data using the Service & Business Intelligence Applications provided by the Axeda Enterprise Server and the ODIS Consolidator/Reporter Aggregations can be generated in relation to a variety of key parameters like „Device, Product Group... ... ... „
Here are some examples of Business Intelligence Applications based on the data aggregations shown before. ODIS will enable you to run studies and surveys, perform trend analyses & benchmarks and monitor cost savings for example through preventive maintenance or through remote service. Trend Analyses & Benchmarks help to improve system performance, reliability and efficiency Surveys and studies provide valuable information for R&D, Marketing and Upper Management to identify new business or business performance improvement opportunities. Xeronics provides a set of standard BI Applications and offers professional implementation services for implementation of custom BI Applications including interfacing to your existing enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, CRM ...).
