Theme Of Nobility In Julius Caesar
The Noblest of Rome
How could one determine whether a man is noble or not? How could one judge the extent of
someone s nobility? Throughout history, there are plenty of stories where the nobility of men have
been tested. William Shakespeare is known for writing stories where the nobility of men is heavily
tested. In Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar, there are plenty of men who love Rome and would do
anything for the goodness of Rome. Caesar was willing to give up lots of his money for the
Roman citizens. Brutus killed his best friend because he felt that he was doing good for
Rome. But Antony is the noblest of them all because he avenges Caesar s death, he stays loyal to
Caesar even after his death, and he is able to recognize the good in ... Show more content on

However, as he is expressing his feelings to Antony, Antony states, Fear him not, Caesar; he s not
dangerous; He is a noble Roman, and well given (Shakespeare 9). Even though Cassius does turn
out to be behind the plot to assassinate Caesar, Antony views him as a noble man.
Antony sees when someone s intentions are good, even if they have a bad plan of action. Antony is
able to recognize nobility in men even if they have committed treacherous deeds.
Antony shows his nobility by avenging the death of Caesar, staying loyal to Caesar all the time,
and being able to recognize the nobility within a man, even if he is his enemy. Antony is able to
follow through and avenge Caesar s death by convincing the people of Rome that Brutus is not
all honorable and that Caesar did not deserve to die, which allows for the civil war to begin and
ultimately kills Brutus. Antony is loyal from the beginning of the play and after Caesar s death.
Antony will do anything for Caesar while he was alive and continues to take care of his name
after his death. Even though Brutus is Antony s enemy for killing Caesar, he still as the ability to
see that Brutus killed Caesar because he believed it was the right thing for Rome

Allusions Of Animals In Macbeth
In the same way that many people today might perceive crickets as lucky , or of black cats as
unlucky , most people in 16th and 17th century England, when William Shakespeare was alive and
writing his plays, had commonly held beliefs about what certain animals represented or
symbolized. Shakespeare is still read, performed and loved today because of his seemingly very
deep understanding of human nature, as well as his solid grasp on what his audience knew,
understood, and could relate to. He used this understanding when writing the play Macbeth, when
he utilized allusions to commonly known animals such as owls, ravens, and bears, to convey the
creepy tone of the play as well as the impending sense of dread that builds throughout the story. In
this way, Shakespeare displays his ability to use commonly held perceptions of different types of
animals to convey his tone to people in all classes of society in 16th and 17th centuryEngland. One
of the animals that Shakespeare alluded to heavily in Macbeth is the owl. While Macbeth is off
killing King Duncan, Lady Macbeth says, It was the owl that shrieked, the fatal bellman, which
gives the stern st good night, and then later, in the same scene, Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth, I
heard the owl scream and the crickets cry, (Shakespeare Act II, scene ii). This animal based
imagery evokes a sense of creepiness and evil, even in a modern audience, despite the fact that
most people think of owls in a more positive light now than they did back then. In Shakespeare s
time, the allusion would have been even more powerful. Although the owl was praised as a
symbol of Athena in Ancient Greece, the people in Europe in the Middle Ages thought of it as
sinister and shady, due to the fact that it only comes out to hunt in the dark, and its feathers and
wings are constructed so that it can fly completely silently. That sort of mindset carried into the
16th and 17th centuries, where the owls still carried a deceitful and wicked connotation (Rijks 1).
Since owls were widely perceived in such a way in that time period, people in the audience would
assume, possibly even subconsciously, that bad and evil things were happening onstage if there
were references being made to owls, the

Visit To The Brown Building (Asch Building)
I propose that we visit the Brown Building (originally named the Asch Building). That is because
it was a very important place regarding my topic, labor. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory
occupied the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors of that building, which was well known for its fire
proof rooms at the time. Obviously, this was proven wrong. There was a huge fire in the top few
floors of the building, that could have been caused by many things. But, the results of the fire
were grave. Just under 150 deaths were caused by this accident, as well as 71 non fatal injuries.
There were some issues with what happened though. One problem is that a set of exit doors, which
could have led the people to safety, were locked. The doors were locked to ensure

Persuasive Essay On Save Animals
Animals are the beginning to the best nerve wrecking filled love you could ever dream of for
your life. Ever since I was a young child, I ve always resonated with the idea of helping animals
more so than anyone and anything else in this world. My love for animals had begun when I was
a mere four years old. I ve always had pets: dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and much more. To
find out more about how to help adoptable animals in shelters, I contacted Amanda Smasal, a
community outreach coordinator at Wayside Waifs. Wayside Waifs is no kill shelter
located in
Kansas City, Missouri which has adoptable dogs and cats, ready and willing to go to safe, loving
homes. When I first emailed Smasal asking if she would participate in the interview, I felt
overwhelming fear and began to panic about the whole encounter. The fear of having to ask
someone I had never met to talk with me is something that scares me. Nonetheless, I sent the
email asking politely yet efficiently to see if she would give me a few of her precious minutes
to answer questions about a cause worth fighting for: animal rescue hospitals. She quickly
responded to my quaint email approximately a day later stating she would happily answer any
and all questions I have, significant or insignificant. The questions took a couple days to figure
out. The few days I had to create the questions were filled with creativity and a tad bit of
questionable ideas. The questions I asked her were the things I would want to

Cigarettes In The Insider
The movie The Insider is a fantastic movie about the fight against the Brown Williamson tobacco
company and the 60 Minutes article that shined the light to the public that the tobacco companies
were lying to the public about their product so that they could sell more products knowing that the
health risks are high. When referring to tobacco in this paper I am talking about cigarettes, one of
the most dangerous ways of getting tobacco due to a chemical compound called nicotine, the
ingredient that causes addiction and what got the general public hooked. There were two men in
this movie that made it their mission to throw the tobacco companies under the bus and giving the
public the correct information to the cigarettes they all chose to buy. Those men were Lowell

A Streetcar Named Desire The societal choices of women
In his play A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams explores his ideas about women in
society. By depicting Blanche s desperate need of a man and Stella s dependence upon Stanley,
Tennessee Williamsdepicts women as being vulnerable and suggests the social construct is
created in a way that women s reliance on a man ultimately forces them to choose between
banishment or subjugation. Blanche needs a man in order to exist in the society and so she is
desperate. Blanche is depicted as desperate after the death of Allan as the death of Allan, the only

Blanche is not trusted by her own sister when she was raped by Stanley, this causes Stanley to
win the fight between the two of them. Blanche is unable to have justice because there is no
man to back her up, the men trust other men and the women trust the men as well. Stella is
unable to believe the idea that Stanley would betray her and so she rejects the voice of her own
sister, Blanche, informing us that the voice a woman without a man is no voice at all I couldn t
believe her story and go on living with Stanley (William 144). This depicts Blanche as being
overpowered by the influence of men, here Stanley s opinion, and so rejected by the
environment she lives in to be exiled in a place where she cannot be heard. In contrast according
to the literary critic Panda, Stella has been immensely passivized (Panda 53) when Stanley plays
baseball, Stella watches him play (53) this depicts the relationship between a man and a women
as the man being the one where the relationship is centralized on while the women are expected
to be passive, or she doesn t exist (Panda 53). The ending would have gone differently if there
was a man to back her up as she would be represented by him; however, since it is not the case she
cannot exists in the society that demands that she should be with a man. It depicts the theme by
creating the image of the fact that Blanche is excluded from the community she lives in, she is not

chicken. Chicken can cause a number of bacterial and viral related diseases and infections due to

Economic Factors in Unification of German People in the 19th Century
There is little debate about the factors concerned in nineteenth century German unification, the
argument commences when the most important is put to question. To find the most important we
must surely look to the primary factors, the instigating forces, or seeds if you will, that are required
for the formation of a Nation State. The great Bismarck was a leader that undoubtedly showed
much initiative and many would attribute the unification of the German speakers to his efforts, but
the economic necessaries came long before the man who used them. When the various factors are
combined Bismarck appears nothing more than a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The land given to Prussia contained large coal and iron mineral deposits and were welcomed for
their advantageous, monetary and military value. Industry grew rapidly from the mineral deposit
regions like the Saar and Ruhr valleys and eventually 80% of the total iron and coal production, in
the zollverien states, was Prussian.
Two primary and almost parallel economic developments enabled the growth and stability of the
German speaking states and one significant development was the formation of a customs union in
1834. With Prussian lands distributed in different areas on the European map due to the Vienna
congress, the commencement of the zollverien was of enormous importance and as we can see in
the following description it was one, not only of liberated trade, but of national identity:
On all the highways of Central Germany heavily laden wagons surrounded by noisy and merry
crowds waited in long queues at the customs houses. With the clock s final stroke of the old year
the turnpikes rose: accompanied by cheers and the crack of whips the horses pulled ahead into the
liberated land [3]
Before the improved zollverien the German speaking states had a pretty stagnant, although self
sufficient economy and controlled their own borders, tolls and currency. The dropping of the trade
tariffs and

Reflection Of The Regggio Creativation Observation
Being able to visit one of the Reggio Emilia Schools was the best experience I have had while
learning about this approach so far. This experience helped put everything that we were learning
and discussing earlier in the week into perspective. Today was the day when the Reggio Emilia
approach of teacher started to actually make sense to me in the way that it was implemented,
since I was able to observe the interactions first hand. When I first walked into the school I was
amazed by how open and welcoming it was. I was able to see most of the classroom while just
standing in the main area on the ground floor which was completely different than anything I have
seen in any schools in the United States. We learned at the end of our time exploring and
observing the school that the reason that all of the classrooms are connected or are visible to each
other is since their philosophy is that if you have interconnected spaces then you will have
interconnected thoughts. They referred to this as transparency when discussing it during our
debrief. After getting over just how amazing the layout and environment of this school was, I was
able to finally start observing how the interactions and instruction is implemented in this school. I
was able to see how older students and younger students were able to learn from each other as well
as teachers and students learning from each other. In this school everyone was constantly learning
from others by observing, asking questions or just

Effects of U.S. Foreign Policy on Cuba
The foreign policy of the United States toward Cuba over the past fifty years has caused many
problems for the Cuban society and its people, and relations between the two nations have been at
odds for decades due to the harsh foreign policy stance of the United States toward Cuba. The
United States has considered Cuba as its enemy ever since July 1960 when Fidel Castro s new
revolutionary government changed everything. Castro seized privately owned land in Cuba,
nationalized several privately owned companies (most of which were subsidiaries of U.S.
businesses), and heavily taxed American products which led to U.S. exports being reduced greatly,

Therefore, the U.S. banned trade with and travels to Cuba and considered all countries who do
engage in Cuban trade and travel to be an enemy to the U.S. (Arcelaschi 1). When the United
States learned of Cuba s communist affiliations they did not take time to analyze the situation and
quickly cut off all relations and access to the nation, which sent a message but did nothing to
destroy communism. Even after a course of several decades with the harsh isolationist policy in
place, Castro s communist regime is still firmly in power. The U.S. was too quick in its decision
and attempt to take out the communist government and took drastic measures by imposing a full
embargo to try to solve a problem that could have been solved in a much more effective and ethical
way.
The relatively short distance between Cuba and the U.S. naturally led to a long and involved
history of relations between the two nations, but relations between the two nations over the past
fifty years have been unhealthy and harmful to both nations. The embargo imposed by the U.S. has
only been damaging and unhelpful to the situation. As a result of the new government s
nationalization policy, American investors suffered major losses and the U.S. retaliated in July
1960 by canceling planned purchases of Cuban sugar (Crouch 70). This was the first act of neglect
toward Cuba that would only quickly progress until all trade and relations were cut off with Cuba.

Essay on The Role of Men and Women
In order to fully comprehend and appreciate the implication of literature and the power it has to
elucidate upon life s various facets, it is imperative to compare and contrast various works,
which possess certain concepts and beliefs that are common. No Exit by Jean Paul Satre and
Night Flight by Antoine De Saint Exupery are two works of literature that share certain ideas
and concepts, one of which is the exemplification of the different roles that men and women play

In my opinion, gender roles are being challenged today to a certain degree, but in order for us to
become more open minded, it is imperative to find a central path between the two extremes. While
it is important for us to maintain our physiological differences and fulfill certain individual
responsibilities, it is equally important for women to assume more significant roles outside the
household and to realize their full potential.
No Exit, by Jean Paul Satre follows three characters who have been condemned to hell , for the evil
deeds committed by them. Here, Satre has represented hell, not in its biblical or Christian sense,
where the sinners and transgressors are tortured, but as a room, with no windows and only one
door, and where the inhabitants are left alone with their thoughts and the other persons that reside
therein.
As the play unfolds, the audience is made aware of the sins committed by the individuals that have
caused them to be here, including adultery, murder and cowardice. Through this explication, the
author has showed us the differing gender roles adopted by men and women but more importantly
how certain individuals will tend to deviate from these norms. Though the expected norm is for a
man to be brave and fearless, Joseph Garcin is a coward and refuses to accept his responsibilities,
made abundantly clear by his

Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Lightships
Lightships are manned seamarks anchored at a specific point of a river, generally a shallow one.
Fixed into place by a mushroom shaped anchor, these small ships (rarely above 50 tons) would
initially use large lanterns affixed atop the main mast. Their main advantage is that they could be
placed in areas where it was impossible for lighthouses to act as efficient seamarks. Their main
disadvantage, especially the early ones, is that turbulent waters could slightly shift the anchor and
thus the ship s positioning (Talbot 1913, pp. 241 42). In the worst case scenario, the chains could
snap, leaving the ship in a dire position. However, introduced in the early 19th century were
numerous lighting inventions (Clarke 2016, pp. 14, 42) as well as mooring technologies using iron,
which could anchor a vessel 12 to 14 times the tonnage of the largest lightship (Clarke 2016, pp. 50
56), made them increasingly reliable over time. Ubiquitous to seafarers, their offshore position
meant that lightships were out of eyesight of the majority of the population, which explains why
they went largely unnoticed, even by most economists and historians including Coase, who studied
lighting services. Yet, lightships featured prominently in the frequently cited 1834 Report from the
Select Committee on Lighthouses. In fact, of the 55 lights in England, 13 were provided by
floating lights (House of Commons 1834, p. VI). As such, lightships were an important contributor
to lighting services. What

For students, they can hang out with friend and classmates. Why they wouldn t opt to attend

Government In The Giver
Our government is a big point of conversation for many people. Discussing and criticizing how it is
run and organized but how is our government different from the government in the book The Giver.
The government in The Giver is supposed be perfect utopia but our government is supposed allow
people to make their own utopias. But which governmentwould be better to live in. In The Giver
babies are kept in nurturing centers until they are grown enough to be put into their school
system. If the babies don t grow fast enough then they are killed. Once the babies do grow
enough then they are initiated as ones. Then in a year they become twos and so on. When they
do something wrong they are hit with a stick. This goes on and each year they earn something
new. When they earn a bicycle they use this as transportation for the rest of their lives. There are
no cars. When they become Twelve s they get their jobs chosen for them. After that they train in
their selected jobs for a little while then they take over their respected jobs. Once they get old they

like that. Another thing that is a big difference is that the government choses jobs for all the
citizens based on what the government thinks the chosen citizen likes. I think some people would

freedom, but in the book, again they don t really have feelings so they don t care as

Theories Of Determinism
Intro
To my knowledge freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. Determinism states that every
event has a set of causes that determine their effects. However the things people do can be
labeled cause with a equal effect as well. Everyone has a set of choices that leads us to act.
However these choices may depend on a different set of circumstances. Deciding how we should
act and if thus action is by our free will. I like Aristotle believe that these actions be they voluntary
or involuntary are a reflection of our morals based on our feelings and actions.

While under gun point he is told to commit unlawful acts or his brother will be shot for his
noncompliance. During one of these unlawful acts, with his brother s life in mind Jesse was
forced to run down a police officer, in result killing him. The act is Jesse running down the
police officer. Jean Paul Sartre expressed that as an individual we have both the freedom and
responsibility to choose to act or not to act. thus there are no accidents in life.. could always get
out of it by suicide or desertion; these ultimate possible are those which must always be present
for us when there is a question of envisaging a situation. (Sartre 660 661). What he does cover is
what if there is someone else life in danger. For example, a loved one. Aristotle believes that
sometimes our actions may also be involuntary. But if it is to save the life of himself and his mates,
any sensible person would do it. (Aristotle 647). Its these complications that allowed Jesse to
selflessly go against his nature and voluntarily and involuntarily commit these acts. It s a fine line to
say he freely committed the acts. When there were extenuating circumstances such as being held at
gunpoint that inhibited his freedom and the freedom of others. In my opinion from a moral stand
point, because Jesse made choices based on external complications morally he s responsible for the
death of the cop. but on a higher standpoint the robber is more morally responsible than

This is the most promising creative direction, and the essence of the direction is captured in
Wedding print (R1).
Wedding print (R1) juxtaposes the cardiac event represented by the EMT tapping the Dad with the
ambulance in the background against the Dad/daughter wedding dance. It conveys the tension what
patients have to lose when they experience a CV event. This is the fulcrum idea in Risk is Real.
Unlike Risk is Real TV, Wedding captures what could happen, not what is happening.
The ambulance and the EMT are symbols of an unexpected event and signal a cardiac event what
could be. Yet unlike the dark figure in Escape, it is not the worst possible outcome (death). Instead,
the ambulance and EMT represent the possibility of surviving the CV event.
The idea creates the most dramatic role for Pathnor preventing true loss. Pathnor becomes key in
circumventing risk so that Patients can experience life s rich milestone moments. Living for these
moments is the carrot.
The idea speaks to both people who have had a CV event, who are ASCVD, and those with unsafe

All ideas conveyed the functional therapeutic benefit of Pathnor.
None of the TV ideas in their current incarnations are as strong as Risk is Real Wedding Print (R1),

Examples Of Corruption In The Man Of The People
Man of the People Corruption comes primarily in two forms evil and political in most cases
when discussing a government or person. Corruption in the government is typically due to
money and the desires of the people who or person who creates the government system.
Corruption is viewed as evil because a person with bad intentions or personal interest that only
benefits him or she is considered corrupt. In the Man of the People, Chief Nanga is considered
corrupt in many ways, but in the African society, he was not considered corrupt as the book may
allude to. The people of the African society were accustomed to such behavior and treatment.
Ultimately the concepts of corruption are viewed differently depending on what that society
may view as corrupt and what is the norm. In the Man of the People, it discusses an African
society were Odili and Nanga have a personal feud over Edna, who leads to Odili quest to
overthrow Nanga as the chief who is considered corrupt. In the Man of the People, Odili
threatened to have him in Nanga in the newspaper, but Nanga asked Odili did he have a feeling
for Edna (Man of the People, p.g. 72). In addition, to Odili personal feud with Nanga, he also had
a feud with him politically. Odili is one of the characters who recognizes Nanga corrupt ways
and tries to rise up against his rule. Odili faces tough obstacles gaining the people s trust because
they were accustomed to the society in which they lived in. Whether you asked in the city or the
village Nanga was a man of the people (Man of the People, p.g. 1). The people in the society did
not view the government as corrupt because they have endured corruption for so long and breaking
societal norms are very difficult in a society. Thus, the function corruption in the book serves as a
small ideain the mind as the reader may connect corruption to them as evil, while the corruption
is a norm. Thus, the idea of corruption does not really relate towards Nanga if his own people as
a whole, do not view him as corrupt. Chief Nanga tactics are legitimate tactics because he was
more than likely accustomed to ruling and having as he, please. Nanga is used to having any
women he desires and anything that is within his reach. Nanga is a chief,

Mark Twain Satire Analysis
The Satirical Musings of Mark Twain Satire is easy to use but difficult to master. If done right it
can transform any piece of literature into a perfect, and beautifully executed, criticism of society. If
done wrong, it will take that potentially beautiful literary art piece and turn it into something that
society loves to shun and schools love to ban. Huckleberry Finn is one of those novels that has the
perfect amount of satirewrapped up in a neat little bundle, and yet it is often still shunned and
banned. The author, Mark Twain, wrote this story at a time when the United States needed it most.
Despite the civil war having been long over, people were still questioning what was right and
what was wrong in regards to slavery and racism. Twain picked up on these issues, and formed his
own opinions. All he was trying to do was share them in a world that needed a wake up call. In
Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain uses satirical techniques in his commentary including metaphors,
exaggeration, and irony in order to call attention to issues in society such as race, religion,
education, morality, and slavery. The most common approach that Twain uses in his commentary to
make his point is to be very plain and simple, but express his thoughts through metaphors and
symbolism. The reader never really has to question what his metaphors mean, but having them in
his writing softens the blow a little bit. The Mississippi river, as an example, is one of the largest
metaphors in the entire story. It represents freedom and equality, whereas the shore represents a
feuding society. Chapter nineteen is where the reader gets to see the contrast very clearly. The
entire first half of the chapter is very idyllic and serene. Huck comments on the serenity of the
river saying there ... wasn t a sound [anywhere] perfectly still just like the whole world was
asleep, and that they had the sky up there, all speckled with stars (Twain, Chapter 19). The scenes
on the river paint very calming pictures in the reader s mind. Then, Huck and Jim get off of the
raft, and everything becomes chaotic. Jim almost always finds himself back in captivity in one
form or another, and Huck always finds himself questioning his newly learned morals.

In 1972, Atari became the first gaming company to really set the benchmark for a large scale
gaming community. Atari not only developed their games in house, they also created a whole new
industry around the arcade, and in 1973, retailing at $1,095, Atari began to sell the first real
electronic video game Pong, and arcade machines began emerging in bars, bowling alleys and
shopping malls around the world (Tech Crunch, 2015). As people in the tech industry started to
realize that they were catching onto something big, the amount of companies beginning to
develop video games increased dramatically. Between the years of 1972 and 1985, over 15
companies began to develop video games for the rapidly expanding industry (Tech Crunch, 2015).
The evolution of the gaming console was very rapid, and within years had been significantly
improved and modified to perform at much higher levels. The leading gaming company,
Activision, would later be founded in 1979, starting a new era of gaming. The gaming industry
continued its rapid evolution in the 1980s, with increased video game graphics, making many more
possibilities for game developers. The iconic gaming company, EA, was later founded in 1982. The
1980s saw the introduction of 3D gaming, absolutely changing the industry forever. As well as 3D

Literature And Its Influence On Literature
Once people mention the literature, the Nobel Prize in Literature or some world famous
masterpieces, like Shakespeare s plays, would pop out of my mind. However, won the Nobel
Prize in Literature or not should not be the only measurement to define the literature. Then, what s
literature? People could define it based on their personal preferences, but the literature, according
to the online dictionary, is defined as the body of artistic writings of a country or period that are
characterized by beauty of expression and form and by the universality of intellectual and
emotional appeal. Literary works is generally expressed through the text, but not all printed
materials could be considered as the literature. For me, literature is the... Show more content on

The Seventh Day was a novel written by my favorite author Yu Hua. It attracted me because of its
up and downs of the plot. At the age of 41, Yang Fei, the main character, encountered an
accidental and unceremonious death. The whole story is talking about all the things that
happened after the death of Yang Fei. Each chapter represents each day after he died, and every
chapter contains a full story that was recalled by Yang Fei. No one knows what a dead body
would experience, so the novel writing perspective impressed me a lot, and the setting of the
plot stimulated my desire to continue reading. As time goes by, Yang Fei met more and more
dead people that he knew when he was alive. The author puts in a flashback to describe how he
gradually recollected all his memories before he died. For example, Yang Fei said in his mind, I
gazed at the beautiful face in front of me... Her face became more familiar in my mind. Suddenly,
my memory reaches its peak! She s my wife! (Yu 31) Later on, he thought of his adoptive father; he
thought of the family that was killed by a demolition; he thought of the girl who suicide because of
an emulation IPhone 4, etc. The story starts reaching the climax, and the plot becomes more
substantial.
The plot is only the skeleton of the story, so describing what a character is like is also crucial
because it could bring the fullness to the story. The Seventh Day used the

The Religion Of Buddhism And Buddhism
In the world today, there are dozens of religions that have spread all over to many parts of the
world to promote their idea of spiritual enlightenment and peace. One of the interesting things that
occurs with some of these religions is after it spreads to a new area, how it becomes popular with
the people and becomes a part of everyday life. The religion of Buddhismis one of these that had
this effect when it began to spread from India where it originated, to many Asian countries
especially Chinawhere it would have the biggest impact. In China, Buddhism would take root and
would grow to become a popular religion in the country much like the other major religions of
China, Confucianismand Taoism, which together with Buddhism would later be known as the
Three Teachings . Additionally, at some point Buddhism would began to lose its popularity in
India due to Hinduism, which had absorbed some of the features of Buddhism and another
famous religion from India Jainism, in order to re emergence as the major religion of India. In
China, this would not be the case, as it would continue to grow and remain strong long after it
fell out of popularity in India. This study will explore some of the ways of how Buddhism was
able to prosper and survive longer in China where in India it was only able to last until Hinduism
re remerged as the major religion for India. When Buddhism was first arrived in China during the
Han Dynasty (221 207 BC), it did not become popular right away, as

A Comparison of Two Accounts of Life After Death Essay
A Comparison of Two Accounts of Life After Death Materialism is the view that the body and
mind are inseparable, and for there to be life after death then the body must be resurrected, this is
much like the Christian view of life after death.
John Hick was a materialist and he argued that, in certain circumstances, it would be possible that
the dead could exist as themselves after death, if an exact replica were to appear. Hick uses
thought experiments to show the person who dies in this World is the same person who is
resurrected in the next. He uses examples of using a character called John Smith. If John smith

This view is supported by Aquinas. According to Aquinas the souloperates independently of the
body, and only things that are divisible are open to decay. The Soul is not divisible, unlike the
body and will therefore decay and die whilst the soul lives on. This view of the Soul been
separate to the body was accepted by Descartes too. Descartes said that it was conceivable for us
to survive without our bodies because our identity comes from our soul and it s ability to think
and reason. He rejected the idea that we need our bodies to live an intellectually aware and active
life. In my personal view both of these theories have major flaws. John Hick is merely
hypothesizing with notion that an exact replica of John Smith will simply re appear in India. He
uses it as a means to reach his end, through illogical reasoning.
The Dualist view of life after death also has its flaws. The idea of the body having no
characteristics unless it has a soul is absurd. The appearance of the body is a characteristic which
isn t determined but the Soul. I do feel that the Materialist view is the stronger. Even though it
does relay on slightly flawed logic. Even though this view is very much like the Christian view
there are some major contradictions between the replica theory and part of Luke s gospel.

ABSTRACT
Veterinary medicines are widely used to treat animals. Farmers supplement the animal feed with a
wide range of compounds from number of therapeutic classes including antimicrobials,
antiprotozoal, ecto and endo parasitic. They get metabolised and traces of their by products are
given out through faeces and urine of the animals which is mixed to the soil and eventually gets
accumulated in the water bodies. Some of the medicines are aerosols and can cause effect through
air. All these studies show that the use of therapeutic veterinary medicines causes effect on the
ecosystem. Keeping in mind one of this global problem, the author has tried to focus on herbal
remedies for such anthelmintic diseases especially in poultry birds. Herbal medicines or
phytomedicines refers to using a plant s seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark or flowers for medicinal
purposes. Herbal medicines have long traditional use rather than conventional medicine. Though it
enters in the food chain but do not cause any harmful effect on the ecosystem. This study reveals
the effect of anthelmintic activity of some of the medicinal plants on helminth parasite Raillietina
from the poultry intestine.

Discrimination And Its Effects On Today s Society
A majority of people in America conjecture that because slavery has been overcome, complete
equality has been reached in the United States. What they fail to recognize are the hardships
faced by minorities in today s society every day, yet discrimination is a persistent factor. The
negative stigma placed on people of color first formed by the harsh language used present during
slavery in the cases of Dred Scott v. Sandford(1857) and Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) assisting in the
mortality gap between blacks and whites . However, what we neglect to recall are the stark reasons
why inequality exists: the social roles of subordinates and dominates. By evaluating the

indicating slaves as less than a person. This proves the mindset that Caucasians concluded
people of color were not deserving of the acknowledgement of obtaining the same rights that the
majority enjoyed. Identically, just as equivalent as the case Dred Scott v. Sandford, Plessy v.
Ferguson harnesses the language of entitlement. The case paints the picture of a mulatto man,
Plessy, obstinate to sit in the white coach. The plaintiff claims, Upon the other hand, if he be a
colored man and be assigned so [a colored coach], he has been deprived of no property, since he
is not lawfully entitled to the reputation of a white man, (Plessy v. Ferguson, 2014, pg. 549). In
other words, because Plessy occupies a contrasting skin color, he cannot be human; as a result,
anyone from African descent was denoted as a purchase. Consequently, if he had light skin, he
could rightfully sit in the coach for the white man is a divine product produced by God. The
mindset at that time period suggests people of color were produced by God to serve for them.
They make the case that property cannot own property ergo Plessy is property so he cannot sit
where he pleases. Moreover, the plaintiff also

The Implications of Dorothy Wordsworth s Own Intellectual Evaluation
Dorothy Wordsworth is extremely critical of her poetic abilities; she personally goes as far to
say that she has, no command of language. Her lack of self confidence in her poetic talents
makes her reluctant to publish poems like A Winter s Ramble in Grasmere Vale. Even when
Dorothy overcomes her unwillingness to publish her work she still displays a certain level of self
consciousness for she transmits her poetic works to her audience anonymously or under pennames.
Partially, this feeling of incapacity as a writer is the result of the public resistance toward female
poets of the Romantic period. Consequently, arenas of publication are very difficult to enter into ...

Nevertheless, the publication history of such poems as, A Winter s Ramble in Grasmere Vale,
reveals a person who felt intimidations when it comes to revealing her poetry and exposing herself
to an audience beyond her immediate circle of intimate community. Dorothy s own feelings of
inadequacy as a writer leads her to suffocate her poetic works; it is rational to connect her own
smothering of her poetic transmission with her critics negative impressions of her poetry.
The exact date Dorothy Wordsworth composes A Winter s Ramble in Grasmere Vale remains a
mystery. Nevertheless, an examination of her inhabitation of Grasmere in relation to the poem
provides a very good estimation of when this poem is conjured. Dorothy and William inhabit
Grasmere Vale in December of 1799. The letter Dorothy writes to her brother Richard on
December 14, 1799 exacts the date William and Dorothy move to their new abode in Grasmere;
We shall set off for Grasmere on Tuseday. The content in A Winter s Ramble in Grasmere Vale

dates when Dorothy creates this composition; these dates logically being those after her move to

immediately upon her settlement in Grasmere; A stranger, Grasmere, in thy vale, / All faces then to

Analysis Of Euripides The Play Medea
The Greek playwright Euripides, who lived from 480 BC to 406 BC, had four victories as a
Tragedian. A third of the Big Three of tragedians, Euripides was, in his time, less successful than
both Aeschylus and Sophocles, who had 13 and 20 victories. Euripides writing was drastically
different from that of the others. While playwrights like Sophocles wrote characters the way they
should be ideally, Euripideswrote his characters truthfully and portrayed people as compassionate
and cruel and complicated as humans really are. In Medea, Euripides details the story of the play s
namesake and leads readers to question his motives as well as hers. In a society that values its
own and sees women as property, Medeademonstrates a confrontation of prejudices and the reality
of any conflict. To a Greek audience in 431 BC, Medea might not have seemed unordinary at
first. In the time of Medea, women followed the orders of men. When Jason leaves Medea, she is
supposed to quietly accept that he does not want her. Instead, Medea exacts revenge on Jason,
killing their two children, Jason s new princess, and the princess father. She can easily be seen as
wild with passion and vengeance, driven to murderous and filicidal deeds. However, Euripides
not only makes Medea a cruel, murderous character, but also one of much love and strength. He
defies the attitude Greeks had of women. In her article over Greek culture s influence in Medea,
Susanna Federici Nebbiosi described Medea as

Eventually, the study led to formations of Major Street Traffic Plans, written by Olmsted,

American cities with new openings, extensions and street patterns to reduce barriers to traffic

To an extent, the Major Street Plans and motorways were planning measures to limit social and
environmental externalities. Separating pedestrian, streetcar, and auto traffic enhanced the form of
urban areas and provided an efficient, coordinated street system, for example improved traffic
crossings ensured maximum pedestrian safety (Brown, 2006). With the separation of mobility and
access, crossings and passageways secured pedestrian safety in high traffic areas. However, with
cities serving as places of innovation and creative hubs of the economy , it is assumed that the mass

For our country to maintain economic growth, citizens must have the opportunity to have
competitive, well paying jobs. It has become increasingly evident that the best chance at achieving
this goal is through higher education. Though education is necessary for a wide range of career
options, its costs tie the hands of many low income families in two ways: it leaves them with no
option to attend higher education at all or leaves them with debt upon graduation. As previously
mentioned, once demand is increased in an area, costs follow suit. With costs rising as family and
student income stasy the same, payments become overwhelming (Issues for Debates in American

impact on the audience (Tubbs). Males may be more trusted and there are typically more men in
the field of engineering. The choice of a male actor over a female may have been a conscious
decision by Honda in attempts to make the visual source more credible for the consumers

addition, Honda used the credibility of their company to transfer credibility to their product

Comparison Of The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calaveras...
Mark Twain is known as a great author from his own unique style of writing. All his publications
have a similarity in a certain style of his writing which makes his works of art such amazing books.
Chapter 12 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The celebrated Jumping
Frog of Calaveras County , both written by Mark Twainhave many similarities in the form of
figurative language, syntax, and diction.
To start with, Mark Twain s figurative language helps make his story unique. He utilises a range of
bizzare similes in both passages that make these stories stay true to the past and humorous. For
example in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Twain writes, ... cottonwood thick as harrow
teeth . This would be considered as one of his similes that are very unusual since many readers
might not know what a harrow even is but as you can infer, that in those times people in the book
would have known what he was speaking about. This shows how his bizzare similes stick to the
time period of his writing. To add, in the second publication the similes
Twain had integrated made the story a little more humorous to read. Twain writes, He was a
different dog, his underjaw d began to stick out like the fo castle of a steamboat,... (The celebrated
Jumping Frog of Calaveras County 6). This shows how his use of similes here was humorous since
Twain made fun of a dog with a large underbite. Although, his use of similes is fantastic his use of
symbolism was excellent also. ... Andrew jackson

Buendias
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Garcia Marquez truly creates a magical universe. Rooting in the
isolated village of Macondo in rural Latin America, generations of Buendias live with each having
unique relation to this universe. The story is largely realistic and historical, in that many historical
and cultural events play roles in the characters development; it is also greatly magical and
imaginative as many moments are scientifically impossible and dreamily symbolical. Macondo in
many ways parallels our real world, and the Buendias in this sense epitomizes the entire human
being. Ultimately, the birth of the last Aureliano, who has monstrous appearance and is eaten by
ants, symbolizes Marquez s pessimistic view on the future of human being... Show more content on

In the very beginning, Melquiades s parchment has decided the fate of the Buendias. As the tragic
end of Macondo looms closer and closer, the ironies get less and less subtle. The end of Macondo
is not just that it gets destroyed by the tornado, but is the result of detached family bonding and the
dissolution of morality. As Macondo epitomizes the world we live in and the Buendias the
humanity, the story forces the readers to examine the relationship between people and their
settings. The monstrous Aureliano certainly poses a shocking revelation: it is a product of incest,
lust and loss of family bonding, but on a larger scale it symbolizes the consequence of sins and
immorality. In this sense, this story ultimately serves to admonish the inevitability of decay if
human being do not seek improvement just like the result of the magical and ironical

Proud of Living and Working in Jozi
Proud of living and working in Jozi
We all want to live in cities of which we can be proud. We all want smooth operating public
services, less traffic, new roads, attractive and functional buildings, secure public spaces and wealth
opportunities that can change lives for the better.
So why then do we expect local government and municipalities to do it alone?
Isn t it true that in the 128 year history of Johannesburg, the City reached more milestones than any
other city in the country, even more so than some of the bigger cities globally?
Isn t it true that most of the City s achievements were actioned by government and citizens alike,
working together towards a common goal?
And yet, we still demand and expect service delivery perfection every single day, notwithstanding
how difficult it must be to handle the logistics and mechanics of delivering services to a population
of over 8 million people.
Granted, we all pay taxes so the City can perform these functions, and sometimes it feels as if our
money is being wasted. But surely there is far more to it, like personal reputation, character and
pride?
It s human nature to want to live in a well governed, happy, safe place, our own Peach Blossom
Spring so to speak. The poem of the Peach Blossom Spring by ancient Chinese poet Tao
Yuanming, describes a discovery of an ethereal utopia where its dwellers led an ideal existence in
harmony.
It was written during a time of political instability and national

Producerscareer Paper
Introduction
I believe by researching this career, I will learn more about what it s like to be a producer. I also
believe that my research will help me choose what occupation I d like to have when I finish
school. I chose this profession as the topic of my career paper because I want to learn more about
it because I may be interested in going into this career.
Job Description
Producers have financial and administrative control over the making of movies, plays, and TV
shows. Producers hire directors, principal members of the cast, and negotiate contracts with artistic
personnel, often in accordance with collective bargaining agreement ( Actors, Directors, and

(CIC 154). Movie producers may be employed by film studios or may work independently.
Producers who work for large film companies usually have experience both in films and
business. The job of producer can be approached from either field. A lot of money goes into
these productions, and the producer s job is to raise the money needed and see that it s spent
wisely. It s the producer s responsibility for ultimately turning a profit for the investors. A good
producer would recognize a successful show or movie while it s still in planning stages. A smart
producer spots a bad idea, more often than not, before too much money is wasted on it (CIC 154).

Education Required
There are no standard educational or training requirements for the position of producer (CIC
154). Most producers have studied film, video production, or drama at the college level. Many
have also trained as actors in dramatic arts schools. People who may be accepted need at least a
bachelor s degree or two years of on set experience and also must pass written tests. Courses in
acting and communications can be helpful. College drama courses in liberal arts, stage speech and
movement, directing, playwriting, history of drama, and design and play production can be helpful
also. (GIS 1).
Talent and experience are very important to getting a job in this field. Producers need good
business sense to handle finances. Movie and play producers need to have enough personal contacts

Social Injustice In Executive Order 13769
Due to variance in opinions, people more often disagree than agree on social and political
controversies. Social injustice occurs when these disagreements lead not to civil discourse but
instead the oppression of those with opposing ideas. President Donald Trump s new Executive
Order 13769 is one of the most recent social injustices that has been caused due to his presidency. It
has affected an estimated 90,000 people and has caused huge protests worldwide (Kessler). With the
use of unfair and religion based treatment that violates both the Constitution s establishment clause
and the Geneva Conventions mandate against denying refugees asylum, Trump created a
controversial problem that produced a divide between not only American citizens,... Show more

All he has done since then is keep his word, ensuring his support across his fan base. Donald Trump
thrives in the entertainment industry, which gives him headlines and publicity and cheering crowds
across America, and he has only brought those entertainment tactics to his role as a president ruling
by fear.
There are no social injustices that go without affecting the public, and Executive Order 13769 has
impacted many people not only in our nation, but also in the periphery, in many different countries
around the world. The victims of this social injustice are primarily those from the seven countries,
especially Muslims, but anyone who has put their faith in American idealism will experience the
fallout from this destruction of our constitutional values. When it comes to accepting refugees
now, the White House is essentially prioritizing Christians over Muslims from the Middle East. In
fact, in an interview with the Christian broadcasting network a few days after the immigration
ban was instated, Donald Trump claimed he would favor Christian refugees as an exception to the
executive order (Yulas). People with dual citizenship are being affected now as well by not being
able to travel freely outside the country without worry they may not be allowed to return. A
specific victim of this injustice, Thon Maker, a rookie on the Milwaukee Bucks, is a native of
Sudan, one of the seven countries that Trump has banned for travel (Reports). The National
Basketball Association is now concerned with Maker s ability to travel with his team to Toronto for
future games (Reports). The immigration limitation not only affects people living in the seven
countries, but also those who care about upholding our values and human rights

Evaluation Of A Multi Objective Design Optimization...
Review of a multi objective design optimization strategy for geothermal heat pump that has been
done before is presented. It was noted that several design variables of GHPs, including equipment
profile building load (such a size, configurations and type of components), thermodynamic
properties (inlet temperature, temperature of evaporator, mass flow rate and etc.) are optimized by
a genetic algorithm (GA), response surface method (RSM), Taguchi method and so on optimizer
implemented in different software. Commonly objectives were extracted. Moreover, it was
observed that the parameters acting as constraints in some works can be as a design variable in
another. The summarizing is presented as tables.
1. Introduction
There has been a development in the world s population and also an increment in energy needs in
the most recent years. Moreover, due to the small quantify of fossil fuel, as well as in view of its
non renewable, more consideration must be paid to alternative energy sources, especially in
residential usage, since these accounts for the majority of energy utilization. Besides, the issue of
energy expenditures for heating and cooling is significant at the present time owing to rising in
energy costs and CO2 punishments [1].
A heat pump practically serves to maintain a climate in the building at a desired level. On the
whole, they are utilized for the heating of the air in winter and cooling it during the summer
periods. Through the use of ground temperature, it

Determination In Macbeth
Macbeth acquires many of the similar qualities existent within humans in society. In today s society,
it is commonly believed success comes to those striving to work the hardest, often sparking a
possible downfall.
As Winston Churchill once said, Success consists of going from failure to failure without the loss
of enthusiasm . Nowadays, it is often accepted ambition drives people to do things plainly for
success. Like Macbeth, our main value is simple determination. Macbeth employs the importance of
time along with overwhelming power through the state of determination. Macbeth s interference of
power remains consistent, as he yields to the suggestion, and makes the seated heart knock against
the use of nature (I.III.143 145). Shakespeare s

  • 2. Theme Of Nobility In Julius Caesar The Noblest of Rome How could one determine whether a man is noble or not? How could one judge the extent of someone s nobility? Throughout history, there are plenty of stories where the nobility of men have been tested. William Shakespeare is known for writing stories where the nobility of men is heavily tested. In Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar, there are plenty of men who love Rome and would do anything for the goodness of Rome. Caesar was willing to give up lots of his money for the Roman citizens. Brutus killed his best friend because he felt that he was doing good for Rome. But Antony is the noblest of them all because he avenges Caesar s death, he stays loyal to Caesar even after his death, and he is able to recognize the good in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, as he is expressing his feelings to Antony, Antony states, Fear him not, Caesar; he s not dangerous; He is a noble Roman, and well given (Shakespeare 9). Even though Cassius does turn out to be behind the plot to assassinate Caesar, Antony views him as a noble man. Antony sees when someone s intentions are good, even if they have a bad plan of action. Antony is able to recognize nobility in men even if they have committed treacherous deeds. Antony shows his nobility by avenging the death of Caesar, staying loyal to Caesar all the time, and being able to recognize the nobility within a man, even if he is his enemy. Antony is able to follow through and avenge Caesar s death by convincing the people of Rome that Brutus is not all honorable and that Caesar did not deserve to die, which allows for the civil war to begin and ultimately kills Brutus. Antony is loyal from the beginning of the play and after Caesar s death. Antony will do anything for Caesar while he was alive and continues to take care of his name after his death. Even though Brutus is Antony s enemy for killing Caesar, he still as the ability to see that Brutus killed Caesar because he believed it was the right thing for Rome ... • 3. Allusions Of Animals In Macbeth In the same way that many people today might perceive crickets as lucky , or of black cats as unlucky , most people in 16th and 17th century England, when William Shakespeare was alive and writing his plays, had commonly held beliefs about what certain animals represented or symbolized. Shakespeare is still read, performed and loved today because of his seemingly very deep understanding of human nature, as well as his solid grasp on what his audience knew, understood, and could relate to. He used this understanding when writing the play Macbeth, when he utilized allusions to commonly known animals such as owls, ravens, and bears, to convey the creepy tone of the play as well as the impending sense of dread that builds throughout the story. In this way, Shakespeare displays his ability to use commonly held perceptions of different types of animals to convey his tone to people in all classes of society in 16th and 17th centuryEngland. One of the animals that Shakespeare alluded to heavily in Macbeth is the owl. While Macbeth is off killing King Duncan, Lady Macbeth says, It was the owl that shrieked, the fatal bellman, which gives the stern st good night, and then later, in the same scene, Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth, I heard the owl scream and the crickets cry, (Shakespeare Act II, scene ii). This animal based imagery evokes a sense of creepiness and evil, even in a modern audience, despite the fact that most people think of owls in a more positive light now than they did back then. In Shakespeare s time, the allusion would have been even more powerful. Although the owl was praised as a symbol of Athena in Ancient Greece, the people in Europe in the Middle Ages thought of it as sinister and shady, due to the fact that it only comes out to hunt in the dark, and its feathers and wings are constructed so that it can fly completely silently. That sort of mindset carried into the 16th and 17th centuries, where the owls still carried a deceitful and wicked connotation (Rijks 1). Since owls were widely perceived in such a way in that time period, people in the audience would assume, possibly even subconsciously, that bad and evil things were happening onstage if there were references being made to owls, the ... That is because it was a very important place regarding my topic, labor. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory occupied the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors of that building, which was well known for its fire proof rooms at the time. Obviously, this was proven wrong. There was a huge fire in the top few floors of the building, that could have been caused by many things. But, the results of the fire were grave. Just under 150 deaths were caused by this accident, as well as 71 non fatal injuries. There were some issues with what happened though. • 5. Persuasive Essay On Save Animals Animals are the beginning to the best nerve wrecking filled love you could ever dream of for your life. Ever since I was a young child, I ve always resonated with the idea of helping animals more so than anyone and anything else in this world. My love for animals had begun when I was a mere four years old. I ve always had pets: dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and much more. To find out more about how to help adoptable animals in shelters, I contacted Amanda Smasal, a community outreach coordinator at Wayside Waifs. Wayside Waifs is no kill shelter located in Kansas City, Missouri which has adoptable dogs and cats, ready and willing to go to safe, loving homes. When I first emailed Smasal asking if she would participate in the interview, I felt overwhelming fear and began to panic about the whole encounter. The fear of having to ask someone I had never met to talk with me is something that scares me. Nonetheless, I sent the email asking politely yet efficiently to see if she would give me a few of her precious minutes to answer questions about a cause worth fighting for: animal rescue hospitals. She quickly responded to my quaint email approximately a day later stating she would happily answer any and all questions I have, significant or insignificant. The questions took a couple days to figure out. The few days I had to create the questions were filled with creativity and a tad bit of questionable ideas. The questions I asked her were the things I would want to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When referring to tobacco in this paper I am talking about cigarettes, one of the most dangerous ways of getting tobacco due to a chemical compound called nicotine, the ingredient that causes addiction and what got the general public hooked. Economic Factors in Unification of German People in the 19th Century There is little debate about the factors concerned in nineteenth century German unification, the argument commences when the most important is put to question. To find the most important we must surely look to the primary factors, the instigating forces, or seeds if you will, that are required for the formation of a Nation State. The great Bismarck was a leader that undoubtedly showed much initiative and many would attribute the unification of the German speakers to his efforts, but the economic necessaries came long before the man who used them. The land given to Prussia contained large coal and iron mineral deposits and were welcomed for their advantageous, monetary and military value. Industry grew rapidly from the mineral deposit regions like the Saar and Ruhr valleys and eventually 80% of the total iron and coal production, in the zollverien states, was Prussian. Two primary and almost parallel economic developments enabled the growth and stability of the German speaking states and one significant development was the formation of a customs union in 1834. With Prussian lands distributed in different areas on the European map due to the Vienna congress, the commencement of the zollverien was of enormous importance and as we can see in the following description it was one, not only of liberated trade, but of national identity: On all the highways of Central Germany heavily laden wagons surrounded by noisy and merry crowds waited in long queues at the customs houses. With the clock s final stroke of the old year the turnpikes rose: accompanied by cheers and the crack of whips the horses pulled ahead into the liberated land [3] Before the improved zollverien the German speaking states had a pretty stagnant, although self sufficient economy and controlled their own borders, tolls and currency. This experience helped put everything that we were learning and discussing earlier in the week into perspective. Today was the day when the Reggio Emilia approach of teacher started to actually make sense to me in the way that it was implemented, since I was able to observe the interactions first hand. When I first walked into the school I was amazed by how open and welcoming it was. I was able to see most of the classroom while just standing in the main area on the ground floor which was completely different than anything I have seen in any schools in the United States. We learned at the end of our time exploring and observing the school that the reason that all of the classrooms are connected or are visible to each other is since their philosophy is that if you have interconnected spaces then you will have interconnected thoughts. They referred to this as transparency when discussing it during our debrief. After getting over just how amazing the layout and environment of this school was, I was able to finally start observing how the interactions and instruction is implemented in this school. Effects of U.S. Foreign Policy on Cuba Britt Pendergrast Dr. Cassell AP Lang 4th period Effects of U.S. Foreign Policy on Cuba The foreign policy of the United States toward Cuba over the past fifty years has caused many problems for the Cuban society and its people, and relations between the two nations have been at odds for decades due to the harsh foreign policy stance of the United States toward Cuba. The United States has considered Cuba as its enemy ever since July 1960 when Fidel Castro s new revolutionary government changed everything. Castro seized privately owned land in Cuba, nationalized several privately owned companies (most of which were subsidiaries of U.S. businesses), and heavily taxed American products which led to U.S. exports being reduced greatly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the U.S. banned trade with and travels to Cuba and considered all countries who do engage in Cuban trade and travel to be an enemy to the U.S. (Arcelaschi 1). When the United States learned of Cuba s communist affiliations they did not take time to analyze the situation and quickly cut off all relations and access to the nation, which sent a message but did nothing to destroy communism. Even after a course of several decades with the harsh isolationist policy in place, Castro s communist regime is still firmly in power. The U.S. was too quick in its decision and attempt to take out the communist government and took drastic measures by imposing a full embargo to try to solve a problem that could have been solved in a much more effective and ethical way. The relatively short distance between Cuba and the U.S. naturally led to a long and involved history of relations between the two nations, but relations between the two nations over the past fifty years have been unhealthy and harmful to both nations. The embargo imposed by the U.S. has only been damaging and unhelpful to the situation. As a result of the new government s nationalization policy, American investors suffered major losses and the U.S. retaliated in July 1960 by canceling planned purchases of Cuban sugar (Crouch 70). This was the first act of neglect toward Cuba that would only quickly progress until all trade and relations were cut off with Cuba. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my opinion, gender roles are being challenged today to a certain degree, but in order for us to become more open minded, it is imperative to find a central path between the two extremes. While it is important for us to maintain our physiological differences and fulfill certain individual responsibilities, it is equally important for women to assume more significant roles outside the household and to realize their full potential. No Exit, by Jean Paul Satre follows three characters who have been condemned to hell , for the evil deeds committed by them. Here, Satre has represented hell, not in its biblical or Christian sense, where the sinners and transgressors are tortured, but as a room, with no windows and only one door, and where the inhabitants are left alone with their thoughts and the other persons that reside therein. As the play unfolds, the audience is made aware of the sins committed by the individuals that have caused them to be here, including adultery, murder and cowardice. Through this explication, the author has showed us the differing gender roles adopted by men and women but more importantly how certain individuals will tend to deviate from these norms. Though the expected norm is for a man to be brave and fearless, Joseph Garcin is a coward and refuses to accept his responsibilities, made abundantly clear by his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Lightships Lightships are manned seamarks anchored at a specific point of a river, generally a shallow one. Fixed into place by a mushroom shaped anchor, these small ships (rarely above 50 tons) would initially use large lanterns affixed atop the main mast. Their main advantage is that they could be placed in areas where it was impossible for lighthouses to act as efficient seamarks. Their main disadvantage, especially the early ones, is that turbulent waters could slightly shift the anchor and thus the ship s positioning (Talbot 1913, pp. 241 42). In the worst case scenario, the chains could snap, leaving the ship in a dire position. However, introduced in the early 19th century were numerous lighting inventions (Clarke 2016, pp. 14, 42) as well as mooring technologies using iron, which could anchor a vessel 12 to 14 times the tonnage of the largest lightship (Clarke 2016, pp. 50 56), made them increasingly reliable over time. Ubiquitous to seafarers, their offshore position meant that lightships were out of eyesight of the majority of the population, which explains why they went largely unnoticed, even by most economists and historians including Coase, who studied lighting services. Yet, lightships featured prominently in the frequently cited 1834 Report from the Select Committee on Lighthouses. In fact, of the 55 lights in England, 13 were provided by floating lights (House of Commons 1834, p. VI). As such, lightships were an important contributor to lighting services. What ... • 18. Theories Of Determinism Intro To my knowledge freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. Determinism states that every event has a set of causes that determine their effects. However the things people do can be labeled cause with a equal effect as well. Everyone has a set of choices that leads us to act. However these choices may depend on a different set of circumstances. Deciding how we should act and if thus action is by our free will. I like Aristotle believe that these actions be they voluntary or involuntary are a reflection of our morals based on our feelings and actions. Jean Paul Sartre expressed that as an individual we have both the freedom and responsibility to choose to act or not to act. thus there are no accidents in life.. could always get out of it by suicide or desertion; these ultimate possible are those which must always be present for us when there is a question of envisaging a situation. But if it is to save the life of himself and his mates, any sensible person would do it. (Aristotle 647). Its these complications that allowed Jesse to selflessly go against his nature and voluntarily and involuntarily commit these acts. It s a fine line to say he freely committed the acts. When there were extenuating circumstances such as being held at gunpoint that inhibited his freedom and the freedom of others. In my opinion from a moral stand point, because Jesse made choices based on external complications morally he s responsible for the death of the cop. but on a higher standpoint the robber is more morally responsible than ... This is the most promising creative direction, and the essence of the direction is captured in Wedding print (R1). Wedding print (R1) juxtaposes the cardiac event represented by the EMT tapping the Dad with the ambulance in the background against the Dad/daughter wedding dance. It conveys the tension what patients have to lose when they experience a CV event. This is the fulcrum idea in Risk is Real. Unlike Risk is Real TV, Wedding captures what could happen, not what is happening. The ambulance and the EMT are symbols of an unexpected event and signal a cardiac event what could be. Yet unlike the dark figure in Escape, it is not the worst possible outcome (death). Instead, the ambulance and EMT represent the possibility of surviving the CV event. The idea creates the most dramatic role for Pathnor preventing true loss. Pathnor becomes key in circumventing risk so that Patients can experience life s rich milestone moments. • 22. Examples Of Corruption In The Man Of The People Man of the People Corruption comes primarily in two forms evil and political in most cases when discussing a government or person. Corruption in the government is typically due to money and the desires of the people who or person who creates the government system. Corruption is viewed as evil because a person with bad intentions or personal interest that only benefits him or she is considered corrupt. In the Man of the People, Chief Nanga is considered corrupt in many ways, but in the African society, he was not considered corrupt as the book may allude to. The people of the African society were accustomed to such behavior and treatment. Ultimately the concepts of corruption are viewed differently depending on what that society may view as corrupt and what is the norm. In the Man of the People, it discusses an African society were Odili and Nanga have a personal feud over Edna, who leads to Odili quest to overthrow Nanga as the chief who is considered corrupt. In the Man of the People, Odili threatened to have him in Nanga in the newspaper, but Nanga asked Odili did he have a feeling for Edna (Man of the People, p.g. 72). In addition, to Odili personal feud with Nanga, he also had a feud with him politically. Odili is one of the characters who recognizes Nanga corrupt ways and tries to rise up against his rule. Odili faces tough obstacles gaining the people s trust because they were accustomed to the society in which they lived in. Whether you asked in the city or the village Nanga was a man of the people (Man of the People, p.g. 1). The people in the society did not view the government as corrupt because they have endured corruption for so long and breaking societal norms are very difficult in a society. Thus, the function corruption in the book serves as a small ideain the mind as the reader may connect corruption to them as evil, while the corruption is a norm. Thus, the idea of corruption does not really relate towards Nanga if his own people as a whole, do not view him as corrupt. Chief Nanga tactics are legitimate tactics because he was more than likely accustomed to ruling and having as he, please. • 23. Mark Twain Satire Analysis The Satirical Musings of Mark Twain Satire is easy to use but difficult to master. If done right it can transform any piece of literature into a perfect, and beautifully executed, criticism of society. If done wrong, it will take that potentially beautiful literary art piece and turn it into something that society loves to shun and schools love to ban. Huckleberry Finn is one of those novels that has the perfect amount of satirewrapped up in a neat little bundle, and yet it is often still shunned and banned. The author, Mark Twain, wrote this story at a time when the United States needed it most. Despite the civil war having been long over, people were still questioning what was right and what was wrong in regards to slavery and racism. Twain picked up on these issues, and formed his own opinions. All he was trying to do was share them in a world that needed a wake up call. In Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain uses satirical techniques in his commentary including metaphors, exaggeration, and irony in order to call attention to issues in society such as race, religion, education, morality, and slavery. The most common approach that Twain uses in his commentary to make his point is to be very plain and simple, but express his thoughts through metaphors and symbolism. The reader never really has to question what his metaphors mean, but having them in his writing softens the blow a little bit. The Mississippi river, as an example, is one of the largest metaphors in the entire story. It represents freedom and equality, whereas the shore represents a feuding society. Chapter nineteen is where the reader gets to see the contrast very clearly. The entire first half of the chapter is very idyllic and serene. Huck comments on the serenity of the river saying there ... wasn t a sound [anywhere] perfectly still just like the whole world was asleep, and that they had the sky up there, all speckled with stars (Twain, Chapter 19). The scenes on the river paint very calming pictures in the reader s mind. Then, Huck and Jim get off of the raft, and everything becomes chaotic. Jim almost always finds himself back in captivity in one form or another, and Huck always finds himself questioning his newly learned morals. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Comparison of Two Accounts of Life After Death Essay A Comparison of Two Accounts of Life After Death Materialism is the view that the body and mind are inseparable, and for there to be life after death then the body must be resurrected, this is much like the Christian view of life after death. John Hick was a materialist and he argued that, in certain circumstances, it would be possible that the dead could exist as themselves after death, if an exact replica were to appear. Hick uses thought experiments to show the person who dies in this World is the same person who is resurrected in the next. He uses examples of using a character called John Smith. According to Aquinas the souloperates independently of the body, and only things that are divisible are open to decay. The Soul is not divisible, unlike the body and will therefore decay and die whilst the soul lives on. This view of the Soul been separate to the body was accepted by Descartes too. Descartes said that it was conceivable for us to survive without our bodies because our identity comes from our soul and it s ability to think and reason. He rejected the idea that we need our bodies to live an intellectually aware and active life. In my personal view both of these theories have major flaws. John Hick is merely hypothesizing with notion that an exact replica of John Smith will simply re appear in India. He uses it as a means to reach his end, through illogical reasoning. The Dualist view of life after death also has its flaws. The idea of the body having no characteristics unless it has a soul is absurd. The appearance of the body is a characteristic which isn t determined but the Soul. I do feel that the Materialist view is the stronger. Even though it does relay on slightly flawed logic. Even though this view is very much like the Christian view there are some major contradictions between the replica theory and part of Luke s gospel. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Identically, just as equivalent as the case Dred Scott v. Sandford, Plessy v. Ferguson harnesses the language of entitlement. Consequently, if he had light skin, he could rightfully sit in the coach for the white man is a divine product produced by God. • 33. Analysis Of Euripides The Play Medea The Greek playwright Euripides, who lived from 480 BC to 406 BC, had four victories as a Tragedian. A third of the Big Three of tragedians, Euripides was, in his time, less successful than both Aeschylus and Sophocles, who had 13 and 20 victories. Euripides writing was drastically different from that of the others. While playwrights like Sophocles wrote characters the way they should be ideally, Euripideswrote his characters truthfully and portrayed people as compassionate and cruel and complicated as humans really are. In Medea, Euripides details the story of the play s namesake and leads readers to question his motives as well as hers. In a society that values its own and sees women as property, Medeademonstrates a confrontation of prejudices and the reality of any conflict. To a Greek audience in 431 BC, Medea might not have seemed unordinary at first. In the time of Medea, women followed the orders of men. When Jason leaves Medea, she is supposed to quietly accept that he does not want her. Instead, Medea exacts revenge on Jason, killing their two children, Jason s new princess, and the princess father. She can easily be seen as wild with passion and vengeance, driven to murderous and filicidal deeds. The car engineer shown at the beginning of the ad serves as a visual source because the ideas of the car come out of his brain, making him the designer of the civic. The man was dressed in a lab coat, which serves as an artifact that helps make the connection that the man is a scientist or engineer who is designing the civic. People tend to trust professionals more when it comes to building complicated machines such as a car, which is why the viewer would be more willing to pay attention to the product of imagination coming from the visual source s head. Additionally, the engineer is a male and according to Tubbs, men and those who are perceived to have a higher status have a greater impact on the audience (Tubbs). • 40. Comparison Of The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calaveras... Mark Twain is known as a great author from his own unique style of writing. All his publications have a similarity in a certain style of his writing which makes his works of art such amazing books. Chapter 12 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County , both written by Mark Twainhave many similarities in the form of figurative language, syntax, and diction. To start with, Mark Twain s figurative language helps make his story unique. He utilises a range of bizzare similes in both passages that make these stories stay true to the past and humorous. For example in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Twain writes, ... cottonwood thick as harrow teeth . This would be considered as one of his similes that are very unusual since many readers might not know what a harrow even is but as you can infer, that in those times people in the book would have known what he was speaking about. This shows how his bizzare similes stick to the time period of his writing. To add, in the second publication the similes Twain had integrated made the story a little more humorous to read. Twain writes, He was a different dog, his underjaw d began to stick out like the fo castle of a steamboat,... (The celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County 6). This shows how his use of similes here was humorous since Twain made fun of a dog with a large underbite. Although, his use of similes is fantastic his use of symbolism was excellent also. ... • 41. Buendias One Hundred Years of Solitude by Garcia Marquez truly creates a magical universe. Rooting in the isolated village of Macondo in rural Latin America, generations of Buendias live with each having unique relation to this universe. The story is largely realistic and historical, in that many historical and cultural events play roles in the characters development; it is also greatly magical and imaginative as many moments are scientifically impossible and dreamily symbolical. Macondo in many ways parallels our real world, and the Buendias in this sense epitomizes the entire human being. Ultimately, the birth of the last Aureliano, who has monstrous appearance and is eaten by ants, symbolizes Marquez s pessimistic view on the future of human being... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the very beginning, Melquiades s parchment has decided the fate of the Buendias. As the tragic end of Macondo looms closer and closer, the ironies get less and less subtle. The end of Macondo is not just that it gets destroyed by the tornado, but is the result of detached family bonding and the dissolution of morality. As Macondo epitomizes the world we live in and the Buendias the humanity, the story forces the readers to examine the relationship between people and their settings. The monstrous Aureliano certainly poses a shocking revelation: it is a product of incest, lust and loss of family bonding, but on a larger scale it symbolizes the consequence of sins and immorality. In this sense, this story ultimately serves to admonish the inevitability of decay if human being do not seek improvement just like the result of the magical and ironical ... • 42. Proud of Living and Working in Jozi Proud of living and working in Jozi We all want to live in cities of which we can be proud. We all want smooth operating public services, less traffic, new roads, attractive and functional buildings, secure public spaces and wealth opportunities that can change lives for the better. So why then do we expect local government and municipalities to do it alone? Isn t it true that in the 128 year history of Johannesburg, the City reached more milestones than any other city in the country, even more so than some of the bigger cities globally? Isn t it true that most of the City s achievements were actioned by government and citizens alike, working together towards a common goal? And yet, we still demand and expect service delivery perfection every single day, notwithstanding how difficult it must be to handle the logistics and mechanics of delivering services to a population of over 8 million people. Granted, we all pay taxes so the City can perform these functions, and sometimes it feels as if our money is being wasted. But surely there is far more to it, like personal reputation, character and pride? It s human nature to want to live in a well governed, happy, safe place, our own Peach Blossom Spring so to speak. The poem of the Peach Blossom Spring by ancient Chinese poet Tao Yuanming, describes a discovery of an ethereal utopia where its dwellers led an ideal existence in harmony. It was written during a time of political instability and national ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Social Injustice In Executive Order 13769 Due to variance in opinions, people more often disagree than agree on social and political controversies. Social injustice occurs when these disagreements lead not to civil discourse but instead the oppression of those with opposing ideas. President Donald Trump s new Executive Order 13769 is one of the most recent social injustices that has been caused due to his presidency. It has affected an estimated 90,000 people and has caused huge protests worldwide (Kessler). With the use of unfair and religion based treatment that violates both the Constitution s establishment clause and the Geneva Conventions mandate against denying refugees asylum, Trump created a controversial problem that produced a divide between not only American citizens,... Donald Trump thrives in the entertainment industry, which gives him headlines and publicity and cheering crowds across America, and he has only brought those entertainment tactics to his role as a president ruling by fear. There are no social injustices that go without affecting the public, and Executive Order 13769 has impacted many people not only in our nation, but also in the periphery, in many different countries around the world. The victims of this social injustice are primarily those from the seven countries, especially Muslims, but anyone who has put their faith in American idealism will experience the fallout from this destruction of our constitutional values. When it comes to accepting refugees now, the White House is essentially prioritizing Christians over Muslims from the Middle East. In fact, in an interview with the Christian broadcasting network a few days after the immigration ban was instated, Donald Trump claimed he would favor Christian refugees as an exception to the executive order (Yulas). People with dual citizenship are being affected now as well by not being able to travel freely outside the country without worry they may not be allowed to return. A specific victim of this injustice, Thon Maker, a rookie on the Milwaukee Bucks, is a native of Sudan, one of the seven countries that Trump has banned for travel (Reports). The National Basketball Association is now concerned with Maker s ability to travel with his team to Toronto for future games (Reports). The immigration limitation not only affects people living in the seven countries, but also those who care about upholding our values and human rights ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Evaluation Of A Multi Objective Design Optimization... Review of a multi objective design optimization strategy for geothermal heat pump that has been done before is presented. It was noted that several design variables of GHPs, including equipment profile building load (such a size, configurations and type of components), thermodynamic properties (inlet temperature, temperature of evaporator, mass flow rate and etc.) are optimized by a genetic algorithm (GA), response surface method (RSM), Taguchi method and so on optimizer implemented in different software. Commonly objectives were extracted. Moreover, it was observed that the parameters acting as constraints in some works can be as a design variable in another. The summarizing is presented as tables. 1. Introduction There has been a development in the world s population and also an increment in energy needs in the most recent years. Moreover, due to the small quantify of fossil fuel, as well as in view of its non renewable, more consideration must be paid to alternative energy sources, especially in residential usage, since these accounts for the majority of energy utilization. Besides, the issue of energy expenditures for heating and cooling is significant at the present time owing to rising in energy costs and CO2 punishments [1].
