Introduction:
An introduction is a beginning section which states the
purpose and goals of the following writing.
 Start your introduction broad but not too
broad.
 Try to avoid cliches.
 Convince the reader that your essay is worth
reading.
 Provide only helpful and relevant
information.
Conclusion:
 When writing a paper, one always ends by
summing up their arguments and drawing a
conclusion about what they’ve been writing
about. The phrase in conclusion means
“finally to sum up” and is used to introduce
same final comments at the end of a speech
or piece of writing.
Strategies for Writing an effective conclusion
 Synthesize, don’t summarize.
 Include a provocative insight or quotation.
 Call for some sort of action.
 Point to border implications.
 Give a sense of closure.
