Dear Diary,
Today I turned 10 years old. Mum sang me a happy birthday song in our language but it just made me sad. I miss my family so much. It's been 2 years since the government officials came and took me away from my community. They said it was for my own good but I don't understand why I can't be with my parents. Now I live in a home with other Aboriginal children but it doesn't feel like home. We are punished if we speak our language. I feel lost without my culture. All I want is to be back with my family.
