Thomas A. Dorsey and Gospel Music Essay
Thomas A. Dorsey and Gospel Music
Gospel songs combined religious lyrics with melodies and rhythms inspired by early blues and jazz.
Many churches rejected this new integration of religious conviction and popular song as devil s music
that had no place in a house of worship.
Thomas A. Dorsey, the Father of Gospel Music described gospel, saying, It s evangelistic, it has a
rhythm and carries a message with the feeling and fever that many sacred songs do not have, the
gospel is good news. Good News is often used as a reference to the word of God. Gospel music is
sometimes simply called good news.
Thomas Andrew Dorsey, the Father of Gospel Music, began using the phrase gospel songs in the mid
1920s, for a new kind of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Chicago, Dorsey, known during these years by several stage names Barrelhouse Tom, Texas
Tommy, and, most commonly, Georgia Tom started out playing theaters, clubs, and rent parties
(parties held to raise rent money). By 1930, however, Georgia Tom Dorsey had become a success as a
bluesman composing, performing, and recording the blues with many talented musicians, including
Ma Rainey and Tampa Red.
Georgia Tom Dorsey worked with many of the significant early blues performers of Chicago. Ma and
her husband Pa Rainey played across the country in the early days of the blues. Dorsey saw her sing at
the 81 Theater as early as 1912, when he was just 13. A decade later, Dorsey, living and working in
Chicago, was asked to put a new band together for her. Ma Rainey and her Wild Cats Jazz Band
opened at Chicago s Grand Theater to a full house.
Thomas Andrew Dorsey met Nettie Harper at Dorsey s uncle s rooming house, where Nettie and
Thomas each boarded for a time.
On August 1, 1925, they were married in Chicago and on August 2 they left to travel with Ma Rainey
and her band. Ma hired Nettie to be her wardrobe mistress. Nettie and Thomas were on the road
together and Thomas was arranging and playing for one of the biggest stars in his profession. Dorsey
said, [I]t was a joy, just like a big long honeymoon.
In late summer 1932, Dorsey went to a meeting in St. Louis for a few days.

Photoautotroph And Autotrophs Similarities
Autotrophs and heterotrophs are two different organisms that have distinct traits that differentiate them
from one another. Autotrophs produce their own food for their energy while heterotrophs are
dependent on other organisms for their food, due to this autotrophs are known as primary sources on
the food chain level while heterotrophs are the secondary and tertiary sources due to their reliance on
autotrophs. Autotrophs are separated in two groups, photoautotrophs and chemoautotrophs, an
example of a photoautotroph is algae, photoautotrophs collect their energy from sunlight, carbon
dioxide, and water. Iron Bacteria is an example of a chemoautotroph, chemoautotrophs derive their
energy from oxidation, which is the process of gaining oxygen. ... Show more content on

An herbivore is an animal or an insect that only eats vegetation such as fruits and vegetables, the only
things that herbivores eat are things that need photosynthesis to live. There are different types of
herbivores, some eat various types of vegetation while some stick to a specific type, for instance an
animal or insect like the fruit bat that only eats fruits is called a frugivore, those like pandas that eat
mostly leaves are called folivores, those that eat wood also fall under the category of herbivores, they
are called xylophages, animals that fall under this category include termites and asian long horned
beetles. Most herbivores don t require too much vitamins, although they do need vitamin A, D, and E
are required along with minerals which they get through different sources. Omnivores are a type of

Analysis Of Mr. Postag197v1
Mr. Linden, Leigh began in a rather defeated tone, I came to the city from uptown this morning,
however, I find I have fallen into a bit of a predicament. Somewhere in her mind, she wondered why
she was telling a complete stranger her problems, but the forefront was focused on just how desperate
she actually was. And what is that predicament? His voice seemed all to knowing as if he had found
out her problem from another before she could even say the words. Leigh s face was rosy, not wanting
to admit defeat quite yet. You d laugh if I told you, she said bashfully, looking away from his gaze that
seemed to bore into her. Mr. Linden smiled softly, almost a look of pity in his expression, at her
actions, but went along with them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It did not exactly hurt her in the way it might for another, it made curiosity coarse through her veins.
She looked between Mr. Linden, moving toward her with cautious movements as one might do with a
frightened animal and back down to the sleek cover of the book. There was not a speck of dust on the
book, a large difference to the others in the room as if it had been cleaned each day. Her thoughts
began to roll like thunder in her mind, the loudest screaming a chorus of why? . She knew regret
would fill her as soon as she betrayed the man s trust, however, she thrived off of impulsive choices.
With one last look at Mr. Linden, giving him a note of a silent apology, she flung back the cover
letting the pages tumble open. The book flew apart as if it had sprung to life and she dropped the
object onto the table with a scream, continuing to watch it closely as the parchment kept turning.
Leigh looked wildly at Mr. Linden who was frozen in place, staring slack jawed at the table, eyes
glossed over as if he was not looking at all. Within the seconds of their exchange, it seemed as if the
pages had begun to grow greener; their pictures looked so realistic she could mistake them for
something real. A real crop of stems sprouting from the center, perhaps, with teeny leaves on every
inch so delicate that they were barely the size of her thumb. Leigh blinked twice, then once more for
good measure. It was as if

Why Did Alva Aalto Design Proto-Mairia
Structural and Circulation Details: Aalto utilizes a system of partitions and framework. There was
focal parts of the house: Living room, Dining room, and the Yard. From these areas we had the

In 1938 Alva Aalto designed Proto Mairea. At first his idea is to analyze a spaces schedule includes an

entertain rooms. The plan drawing at that time did not reach the characteristics of the modern house.
Aalto kept in his mind to change the layout because he wanted to save the space since the owner
would not use so many rooms.
There was a transformation for the new Villa Mairea floor plan layouts. He fixed all the details

Ethnic Conflicts in Nigeria
The military elites made the situation even worse by staging coups and making a mockery of
democracy in Nigeria. The military era was marked by corruption, ineptitude and confusion. It drove
Nigeria into many problems including economic problems, poverty, and ethno religious conflicts until
the 1990s. The military continued intervening because they believed the civilian leaders were inept
and indecisive.
Ethnic conflicts continued to escalate through the democratic transition in Nigeria, as various ethnic
groups demanded political restructuring. The federal structure has developed deep cracks and
demands urgent action to fix it. What is most worrisome in Nigeria is the religious dimension of ethnic
conflict and competition for power and oil wealth. The numerous ethno religious conflicts that the
northern cities of Kaduna, Kano, Jos and Zamfara have witnessed, came about from the introduction
of Muslim Sharia courts, in addition to the South s demands for autonomy. The continuing conflict is a
sign Nigeria s lack of effective mechanisms to manage ethnic conflicts.
The intense ethnic conflicts that rocked Nigeria and South Africa have pushed them to develop
constitutionally backed institutions for conflict management. In South Africa, the state has prevented
further conflicts by developing multiple democratic approaches to create a foundation for peace and
security. The new constitution crafted an impressive document aimed to heal the wounds of the past
and to build a

North American Colonisation
The colonisation of North America by the Europeans became one of the most crucial points for the
native North Americans. The differing experiences of contact between both cultures had
overwhelmingly disastrous impacts on the normal way of life. From such contact arose the issue of
land disputes, in turn resulting in massacres and frontier wars which could have otherwise been
unnecessary. The factors stated above provide a suitable stimulus for a discussion in regards to the
varying encounters of the Indigenous North Americans. A calamitous result of contact between the
Indigenous North Americans and the European colonists was the massacre of many innocents and the
frontier wars which caused heavy damage and losses on both sides. The ... Show more content on

the Indigenous North Americans was not so much to be called weak , however, it was vulnerable.

major turning point in Native American disease presence was with the arrival of Europeans. During
this period European settlers brought many different technologies and lifestyles with them, but one of

On Dumpster Diving Rhetorical Analysis
Lars Eighner represents the thousands of homeless people that have simply fallen victim of financial
struggles, holding strongly onto his respect for others, his community, and himself, despite the
difficulties he faces. According to Eighner s website, he spent time at the University of Austin, Texas
studying creative writing, which is clear through his writing techniques and narrative style. However
after falling on hard times, Eighner ended up homeless. While homeless in the late 80 s Eighner
composed the essay On Dumpster Diving. It need not take long for one to find his purpose in writing
the essay. Dumpster diving and homelessness are deeply connected to a notion of poor life choices,
mental illness, and substance abuse. And while Eighner doesn t deny that many people he encounters
are winos, Eighner s purpose is to represent dumpster diving, in sense, as an art; reclaiming
homelessness as a modern form of self reliance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dreams In Sandra Cisneros s The House On Mango Street
During the novel, The House on Mango Street, author Sandra Cisneros relives a childhood similar to
hers, where the main purpose of life is having the ability to dream. Most characters that live on Mango
Street, such as Esperanza Cordero, dream of having a better life and deserting their past of poverty and
struggle. Cisneros constantly makes this apparent to the reader because without struggle and pain, the
reward of escaping the neighborhood is not as meaningful. Throughout the novel, The House on
Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros develops the subject of dreaming through Esperanza s relationships
female family members, the symbol of writing, and the motif of houses. To begin, Cisneros develops
Esperanza s relationship with her mother and her friend, Alicia, in order to promote the fact that
leaving a community like Mango Street is possible. These minor characters do not play a huge role in
Esperanza s life, yet they unknowingly show her that it was, and still is possible to get out. Alicia is
significant to Esperanza because she proves that it is possible to make it to college. When Esperanza
hears that Alicia studies for the first time at the university (Cisneros 31), she sets this in her mind as an
example of what she is capable of. Her mom also tells her that she could ve been somebody (90).
Esperanza s mother was talented in many categories, such as singing opera, speaking many languages,
and working around the house. However, she dropped out of school at a young age

How Does Tim O Brien Use Anaphora In The Ghost Soldier
In The Ghost Soldiers vignette from The Things They Carried, Tim O Brien uses anaphora in the form
of repeating the word you to place the reader in his war experience, ultimately to portray how war can
transform any individual to become illusioned and rely on only the logic of their instincts. When O
Brien describes his understanding of fear after pulling several night guard duties in Vietnam, he
describes it to be where you think about dark closets, mad men, murderers under the bed, all those
childhood fears...You see ghosts. You blink and shake your head. Bullshit, you tell yourself (205). To
O Brien, the darkness can transform superficial horrors in daylight into real solid substances that
seems to be closest to reality. For the audience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
O Brien may have believed it in the beginning, when he was still a greenie , but one exposure to the
real war environment can quickly change his mind. War is not like the movies, movies that shows the
perfect courageous good always defeating the obvious evil. It s impossible for a real soldier to follow
the footsteps of heroes in entertainment, and he wants to emphasize this point to the readers: You re
not human anymore. You re a shadow. You slip out of your own skin, like molting, shedding your own
history and your own future, or leaving behind everything you ever were or wanted or believed in.
You know you re about to die. And it s not a movie and you aren t a hero and all you can do is
whimper and wait (211). The emotions he feels at the time is hard to put into words, and so he makes
the reader try to experience it, just as he wants Bobby Jorgenson to experience it. Because O Brien has
accumulated familiarity with this irrational fear soldiers experience, he feels like this is a punishment
suitable in its notoriety for a new soldier like Jorgenson, and would hopefully get back at the pain he
had endured from the medic s failed aid to his gunshot

Beowulf And The Epic s Christian Identity
Beowulf and the Epic s Christian Identity
Composed in early eighth century by an unknown author the epic poem Beowulf, follows the exploits
of the protagonist of the same name. Originally composed orally by a tribe s scop, the epic of Beowulf
delivers insight on the lives and adventures of characters that lived in the sixth century. Although, the
tale of Beowulf was formulated during post Roman collapse by presumably pagan people; written
around seven hundred A.D., it is probable that a Christian monk transcribed the grand narrative
implanting Christian motifs and ideals into pagan Scandinavian culture. Therefore, the result of this
concoction is a blended storyline infused with religious imagery and allusion along with traditional
Nordic beliefs of war and honor. The tale, and arguably, the tragedy of Beowulf illustrate the conflict
between the Pagan elements and Christian tenets, as aspects of both are present in the epic. The
underlying Christian and Pagan values in Beowulf illustrate the iniquity of mankind and its eventual
downfall through allusion to god, symbolism, and vices and virtues of warrior man.
Firstly, Hrothgar s monologue foreshadows the climax and tragedy of man; moreover, Hrothgar s
speech illuminates the end of both warrior and king. For example, after the battle in which Grendel is
defeated, Hrothgar say, First and foremost, let the Almighty father be thanked for this sight. I suffered

Data Mining Method Of Extracting The Data From Large Database
Abstract Data mining is the method of extracting the data from large database. Various data mining
techniques are clustering, classification, association analysis, regression, summarization, time series
analysis and sequence analysis, etc. Clustering is one of the important tasks in mining and is said to be
unsupervised classification. Clustering is the techniques which is used to group similar objects or
processes. In this work four clustering algorithms (K Means, Farthest first, EM, Hierarchal) have been
analyzed to cluster the data and to find the outliers based on the number of clusters. Here the WEKA

Clustering plays an important role in data mining process. Clustering is the approach of grouping the
data into classes or clusters so that the objects within each cluster have high similarity in comparison
with one another[12].The common approach of clustering techniques is that to find cluster centroid
and then the data are clustered. Several clustering techniques are partitioning methods, hierarchical
methods, density based methods, grid based methods, model based methods and constraint based
clustering. Clustering is a challenging field of research in which its potential applications pose their
own requirements [4]. Clustering is also called as the data segmentation because clustering method
partitions the large data sets into smaller data groups according to their similarities. The main
objective of cluster analysis is to increase intra group similarity and inter group dissimilarity.
Detecting outlier is one of the important tasks. A failure to detect outliers or their ineffective handling
can have serious ramifications on the strength of the inferences drained from the exercise [4]. Outlier
detection has direct applications in a wide variety of domains such as mining for anomalies to detect
network intrusions, fraud detection in mobile phone industry and recently for detecting terrorism
related activities [5].Outliers are found using the filters which is offered by data mining tools. Liver

Summary Of The Tenets Of Waldorf Curriculum
The Waldorf Education curriculum, founded by Radolf Stainer, is based on his educational philosophy,
anthroposophy. This philosophy is described as critical idealism. The ideal philosophy treats the child
as a spirit and the education approach/practice aims at liberating the spiritual essence of the child to
remove any hindrances and obstacles and ensure that the inherent child s talents are exposed for later
service of humanity. The pedagogy of Waldorf involves the gradual and natural unfolding of these
preexisting abilities and talents of a child in a stage wise manner with the help of teachers and nature.
Contrary to Waldorf Education approach, mainstream public schools take the realism approach
whereby a child is a biological social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to note that child development takes a unique course for every child with some
developing rapidly while some developing at a slow pace. The rate of development is affected by
inherent factors such as genetic factors or environmental factors and health.
Based on the variability in child development, the Waldorf curriculum is not rigid. Waldorf curriculum
is essentially child centered. The child determines the course of the curriculum. Waldorf teachers ate
therefore tasked with analyzing the spiritual and physical aspects of a child to determine the needs of
each child and design appropriate teaching approach for the individual child. A Waldorf teacher,
therefore, designs the curriculum based on both the developmental stage of a child and the class
(Randoll and Peters, 2015). This teaching approach indicates that students in a class may not be
actually at the same level. This approach contradicts with the public mainstream education which
strives for a leveled learning for the purpose of evaluation.
To ensure a developmental curriculum based on the developmental stages of the child and the class,
Waldorf teachers have the freedom in teaching (Soule, n.d). They are free to alter and modify the
curriculum to address the needs of a specific student. This approach is similar to guided reading in
most mainstream public schools whereby a teacher identifies the specific reading levels of each
student so as to address their needs appropriately. This

Responsibilities Of HACCPAnd The Food Safety Management...
Responsibilities
You must put in place and implement a food safety management system to ensure the food you
provide is safe to eat. Think about what might go wrong with the food that you sell and what you must
do to ensure it is safe for your customers. Procedures must be in place to manage food safety hazards
in your workplace. Everything must be written down, updated when necessary and kept so that they
can be checked by the local authority.
These procedures must be based on the principles of HACCP.

What is HACCP?
HACCP is a system that identifies where hazards may arise in the food production process, by putting
procedures into place to prevent the hazards from occurring.
HACCP systems must be based on the seven principles.
Conduct a hazard analysis
Identify critical control points
Establish critical limits
Establish monitoring
Establish corrective actions
Establish verification
Establish documentation and records

A hazard is anything that can cause harm to your customers and can happen at any stage in your
business, from taking deliveries to serving customers.
There are three types of hazards.

The Paralysis Of Eveline
Eveline faces a difficult dilemma: remain home like a dutiful daughter, or leave Dublin with her lover,
Frank, who is a sailor. Eveline Hill sits at a window in her home and reminisce the times when she as
a child played with other children in a field which now has been developed with new homes As
Eveline was trying to make a major decision whether or not to move to Buenos Ayres (escape) with
Frank. She holds two letters, one to her father, one to her brother Harry. She begins to favor the
sunnier memories of her old family life, when her mother was alive and her brother was living at
home. She thought back of the moment she promised her mom that she will put all her dedication in
maintaining this home. And she reasons that her life at home and doing all of those chores are hard,
but perhaps not in the worst position her father isn t always mean, after all. This memory is also
important for another reason as it suggests that a bond (or connection) still remains between Eveline,
her siblings and her father. Despite how her father treats her, Eveline still feels connected to him. This
pushes her to escape from the fate and embark on a new phase of life. Eveline s action, of dusting
every week for so many years is significant as it suggests repetition, doing the same thing, which in
turn would suggest a paralysis within Eveline. It is also significant that the dust remains. This suggests
that no matter how much Eveline does while at home nothing will change. Appears

fuse block under the hood into the cab, and ran a return back out. I mounted the pods and then wired
the right side to the left side. Michael took power and ran it to the cab, and we tied the pods into a

Peter s Influence On Russian Culture
Peter the Great ushered in a new era for Russian leadership rather than focusing on the grabs for
power characterized by the False Dmitry period, and rather than focusing on the cleansing
characterized by Ivan the Terrible, Peter sought to move Russia beyond these power struggles into an
era where Russia would be revered as a modern global power, on par with Western European powers
of the time. To achieve this goal, Peter turned to Europe to study their advancements especially in the
areas of engineering and governance. As Dr. Pesenson explained in class, Peter embarked on what he
called the Great Embassy , wherein he, along with other young male members of the court, took a tour
of Europe to learn about their traditions and customs. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Urban life changed significantly under Peter s reign the banning of beards and the required wearing of
Western dress allowed for the image of Russian culture to change and this proved to be an apt
metaphor for all of Peter s reforms: they only superficially advanced Russian culture. Just as
Petersburg and Moscow built great buildings in the style of the Dutch and Italian, just as Petersburg
and Moscow saw the adoption of French as a common language, just as Petersburg and Moscow were
introduced to opera and painting of the European style; the peasantry s life remained the same.
Without access to education, they could not take advantage of the court s cultural exchanges; without
freedom from serfdom, the Table of Ranks was utterly useless to the very class that would benefit
most from it. Peter started Russia on a promising but ultimately less than fruitful path: even though
they grew to look more and more like Europe, the vast majority of Russians, the peasantry, saw no real
reform, no real change, and so Peter s goal to become more like Europe fell flat due to this lack of
empowerment of the lower classes that would spread throughout Western Europe for the entire 18th

Isaac Luria Research Paper
Religions have historically incorporated elements of mysticism into their broader teachings in order to
help explain the inexplicable or to provide alternate routes to the Divine for their followers. While
more the conservative sects of a religion typically look down upon mystical schools of thought for
straying too far away from what is written in their sacred texts, most will simply accept them as
another group of lost souls looking for answers to the universe s deepest questions. In Judaism,
mystical tradition is referred to as Kabbalah and, unlike most other mystical schools of thought, it
stays true to the smallest details of Jewish Law. This close attention to remaining consistent with
greater Jewish tradition has made Kabbalah more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ibn Zimra was a master of rabbinic law, authoring over 2,500 rabbinic legal opinions and other
Kabbalistic works. One of his Kabbalistic writings delves into the mystical explanation for the letters
of the Hebrew alphabet, even exploring the significance of their individual shapes (Fine 35).
Furthermore, historical documents from this period suggest that Luria was one of ibn Zimra s top
students by the age of 23. This reveals how Luria s knowledge and understanding of halakhic and
rabbinic writings were well beyond his years; his studies under ibn Zimra made him into an
outstanding, highly skilled legal scholar in a fairly short amount of time. Because of this, Luria
transitioned from being a mere student to entering the most important rabbinic circle of Egypt,
continuing his halakhic work with ibn Zimra s successor, Bezalel Ashkenazi. In addition to building
up his Jewish education while living in Egypt, Luria worked as a commercial trader in the 1550s,
facilitating the exchange of goods between Egypt, Turkey and Italy (Fine 29 33). This smaller aspect
of Luria s life in Egypt may have contributed to his development by bringing him into to contact with
different cultures, religions, and

Disease. What comes to your mind when a person says the word, disease ? Some people may think of

Analysis Of The Movie Hurt, Nine Inch Nails
Hurt is a song that was written by Trent Reznor of the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails in 1994
from the album The Downward Spiral. It received positive reviews, even receiving a Grammy award
nomination for best rock song in 1996 ( Hurt, Nine Inch Nails Song ). Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio
founded the Nine Inch Nails in 1988. Reznor is the main producer, singer, songwriter, and
instrumentalist of the band as well as the only official member of the group ( Nine Inch Nails ).
Country music artist Johnny Cash received critical acclaim when he covered Hurt with reviews saying
that Cash s version was much better than the original done by Reznor. Johnny Cash is considered to be
one of the most influential and best selling artists of the 20th century. Most of Cash s music contained
themes of sadness, sorrow, and moral tribulations, which made Reznor s Hurt a perfect cover for Cash
( Johnny Cash ). Hurt is the type song someone listens to when they have the kind of day that makes
them feel alone. Everything you thought you knew was wrong, people stab you in the back, and
everything you used to believe in has vanished. You re left with nothing at the end of the day, feeling
depressed and miserable, that is what Hurt is about. Hurt makes you realize you re not the only one in
the world that suffers these pains because everyone goes through them. It then leaves the listeners
feeling as if they are not alone anymore; they can start to relate to the loneliness and misery that the

Genetically Modified Organisms Are A Hot Topic For Debate
GMOs or Genetically Modified Organisms are a hot topic for debate. Many have taken a stand against
the genetic modifying of organisms, but what many of these people fail to realize is that humans as a
species have been modifying organisms based on genetics for thousands of years. Our faithful
companions, who were once wolves, were selectively bred based on their genes that expressed
faithfulness to humans (Rangel 10). Similarly, the corn that the world consumes today was not the
same corn grown by our human ancestors. The plants that grew tall and strong were taken and
replanted for the next season. The only difference between GMOs today and the selective breeding of
primitive humans is the random factor. Selective breeding relies on the ... Show more content on

This study found there was no inherent increase in the amount of toxins and antinutrients found in
modified plants compared to non modified plants. Also, the amounts of toxins and antinutrients found
have no substantial effects for common human diets and can be consumed safely without health risk.
Not only has the safety of GMOs passed extensive board review by the academies of science,
engineering, and medicine, but there is also an overwhelming support for GMOs from the scientific
community as a whole. There are currently 123 nobel laureates who have signed an open letter of
support for GMO s (Roberts, R. J., and P. A. Sharp). The letter calls upon anti gmo organizations,
specifically Greenpeace, and governments around the world to embrace GMOs and the golden rice
project. The golden rice project is a non profit humanitarian project which aims to modify the rice
plant to contain vitamin A. Their goal is to save people in third world countries who lack the proper
micronutrients due to their dependendence on rice in their diet. Vitamin A deficiency is extremely
common among the poor whose diets consist of easy to grow plants, like rice, but Greenpeace and
other anti gmo organisations have campaigned hard against the golden rice project. It is a crime

Computer literacy The impact of mobile computing
INF 103

Mobile computing is growing at an extremely rapid rate and you can see it everywhere you go. You
are probably doing it yourself multiple times a day and don t even realize it. Phones, laptops, tablets,
cloud storage and wireless networks that we use everyday are just a few elements of mobile
computing. A survey listed by Bowles states that 26% of smartphone users makes them feel like they
are being more productive than without them. (Bowles 2013) I can remember taking typing class in
high school and now almost every school in America issues tablets to their students.

able to do it without having to call the office and have someone else do it or try to make a mental note

Toilet Auger Research Paper
Managing toilet obstructs effectively makes it to the base of the rundown of things a great many
people need to do as opposed to getting a charge out of an unwinding end of the week or night, yet it
happens to various mortgage holders. Considerably more at times, you may have an obstructing toilet
that influences you to figure your youngsters may have lost a toy or stuffed the neighbor s feline in the
porcelain position of royalty. However, you don t need to call a handyman. Property holders might
need to take a stab at utilizing a toilet auger to dispose of a headstrong obstructs.
What is a Toilet Auger?
A toilet auger, or handyman s snake, may not look like much, but instead, it can enable you to
dispense with willful toilet stops up. A toilet auger is usually a little more than 3 feet long and includes
an unbending metal tube with a handle that you wrench toward one side and an internal center link
made of metal on the other. The link is pressure wrapped and reaches out from the metal tube like a
long, adaptable bore that is ideal for clearing toilet stops up. Some toilet augers have a plastic boot on
the end that shields the porcelain from harm. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Turn the wrench on the finish of the auger while holding the metal tubing in one hand to broaden the
link into your toilet s pipe. Handing the wrench over the other way will withdraw the auger.
Toilet stops up that are caused by semi strong items, for example, hair or a toy causes protection in the
auger as it seizes the question. If you feel this protection, recover the question by rewinding the link.
On the off chance that the stop up is made of amassed objects, for example, bathroom tissue, take a
stab at passing the loop of the auger forward and backward through the obstruct to break

Is Meditation A Waste Of Time
Last week I received a comment in one of my meditation related article, where someone mentioned
that meditation is a waste of time, rather than doing meditation it s better to hang out with friends
where you can feel comfortable and relax.
I don t completely disagree with the above fact, but yes I was completely shocked when I received that
comment, I thought meditation is quite globally accepted. But I was wrong. So I thought to write
about why meditation is important in this article.
Where from Meditation came into my picture?
So it s better to be practical in your facts. The word meditation was less likely to be known to me. I

The word Meditate came from the Latin word meditātus (to engage in thought or contemplation;
reflect)
Meditation carries a rich history with it. You can find its roots up to 1500 BCE. Most of the early
scriptures indicate that meditation came from the Hindu tradition of Vedantism.
Do Meditation Relates To Religion?
This is the most common question asked by the people; Do meditation has any roots with religion, the
answer is N0. It doesn t. It just a part of purifying your heart and soul from the negativity it received
outside the world, and helping you to connect with your soul.
So what is Meditation?
I will not go through any definition or explanation; I will write what I experienced and what helps me,
so in my way Meditation is the process which helps us to connect with our soul. It s a process to
eliminate our negative thoughts; expand our thinking about life, a ray of hope in the darkness, and
nectar for a dying soul.
What Is The Process Of Meditation?

Although students who work and do not work experience there stress levels differently and according
to the study more working college students experience more of a stress level then non working
students but the most interesting finding in this study is that working college students have a higher
grade point then the non working students (p.384). Suggestions as to why that were presented in the
article is that students who work and go to school full time have the ability to manage their time more
wisely then those who do not work (p.396 387). This data is again represented in another study that
was produced by Lang (2012) which clarifies that college students who work maintain a higher grade
point average then students who do not work (p.250). Another aspect that Lang s experiment clarifies
that more working students spend more time one their studies and working then they do with their
social lives (p.250). This is because students learn how to priorities and in order to priorities they have
to give up something in this case it is their social life. Learning how to prioritize students gain the
ability to develop time management skills that the can use in order to complete the task that they need

New Trenchless technologies in Construction Nowadays there is an immense growth in trenchless
construction technologies. Trenchless construction technologies are the underground methods used to
build underground infrastructures without affecting the ground surface. The advantages of trenchless
technologies are public safety and the cost impact for deeper excavation. Trenchless technologies

Reproduction of Female Elephants
Basic anatomy and physiology, artificial insemination, parturition, and social aspects of reproduction
Introduction
The study and research of reproduction in elephants is increasingly critical in consideration of the
quickly dwindling population numbers and estimates. The current Asian elephant population is
estimated to lie between 50,000 70,000 across the world, with 15,000 of these individuals in captivity.
African elephant population numbers are low as well after serious culling through hunting and
poaching. These numbers make the low reproduction rates a great concern as elephants do not
currently sufficiently reproduce at an adequate rate to sustain population size.12

Most frequently, nonsurgical insemination is performed. This method calls for a trained and

  • 2. Thomas A. Dorsey and Gospel Music Essay Thomas A. Dorsey and Gospel Music Gospel songs combined religious lyrics with melodies and rhythms inspired by early blues and jazz. Many churches rejected this new integration of religious conviction and popular song as devil s music that had no place in a house of worship. Thomas A. Dorsey, the Father of Gospel Music described gospel, saying, It s evangelistic, it has a rhythm and carries a message with the feeling and fever that many sacred songs do not have, the gospel is good news. Good News is often used as a reference to the word of God. Gospel music is sometimes simply called good news. Ma Rainey and her Wild Cats Jazz Band opened at Chicago s Grand Theater to a full house. Thomas Andrew Dorsey met Nettie Harper at Dorsey s uncle s rooming house, where Nettie and Thomas each boarded for a time. On August 1, 1925, they were married in Chicago and on August 2 they left to travel with Ma Rainey and her band. Ma hired Nettie to be her wardrobe mistress. Nettie and Thomas were on the road together and Thomas was arranging and playing for one of the biggest stars in his profession. Dorsey said, [I]t was a joy, just like a big long honeymoon. • 7. Analysis Of Mr. Postag197v1 Mr. Linden, Leigh began in a rather defeated tone, I came to the city from uptown this morning, however, I find I have fallen into a bit of a predicament. Somewhere in her mind, she wondered why she was telling a complete stranger her problems, but the forefront was focused on just how desperate she actually was. And what is that predicament? His voice seemed all to knowing as if he had found out her problem from another before she could even say the words. Leigh s face was rosy, not wanting to admit defeat quite yet. You d laugh if I told you, she said bashfully, looking away from his gaze that seemed to bore into her. It did not exactly hurt her in the way it might for another, it made curiosity coarse through her veins. She looked between Mr. Linden, moving toward her with cautious movements as one might do with a frightened animal and back down to the sleek cover of the book. There was not a speck of dust on the book, a large difference to the others in the room as if it had been cleaned each day. Her thoughts began to roll like thunder in her mind, the loudest screaming a chorus of why? . She knew regret would fill her as soon as she betrayed the man s trust, however, she thrived off of impulsive choices. With one last look at Mr. Linden, giving him a note of a silent apology, she flung back the cover letting the pages tumble open. The book flew apart as if it had sprung to life and she dropped the object onto the table with a scream, continuing to watch it closely as the parchment kept turning. Leigh looked wildly at Mr. Linden who was frozen in place, staring slack jawed at the table, eyes glossed over as if he was not looking at all. Within the seconds of their exchange, it seemed as if the pages had begun to grow greener; their pictures looked so realistic she could mistake them for something real. A real crop of stems sprouting from the center, perhaps, with teeny leaves on every inch so delicate that they were barely the size of her thumb. Leigh blinked twice, then once more for good measure. • 10. Ethnic Conflicts in Nigeria The military elites made the situation even worse by staging coups and making a mockery of democracy in Nigeria. The military era was marked by corruption, ineptitude and confusion. It drove Nigeria into many problems including economic problems, poverty, and ethno religious conflicts until the 1990s. The military continued intervening because they believed the civilian leaders were inept and indecisive. Ethnic conflicts continued to escalate through the democratic transition in Nigeria, as various ethnic groups demanded political restructuring. The federal structure has developed deep cracks and demands urgent action to fix it. What is most worrisome in Nigeria is the religious dimension of ethnic conflict and competition for power and oil wealth. The numerous ethno religious conflicts that the northern cities of Kaduna, Kano, Jos and Zamfara have witnessed, came about from the introduction of Muslim Sharia courts, in addition to the South s demands for autonomy. The continuing conflict is a sign Nigeria s lack of effective mechanisms to manage ethnic conflicts. The intense ethnic conflicts that rocked Nigeria and South Africa have pushed them to develop constitutionally backed institutions for conflict management. In South Africa, the state has prevented further conflicts by developing multiple democratic approaches to create a foundation for peace and security. The new constitution crafted an impressive document aimed to heal the wounds of the past and to build a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The differing experiences of contact between both cultures had overwhelmingly disastrous impacts on the normal way of life. From such contact arose the issue of land disputes, in turn resulting in massacres and frontier wars which could have otherwise been unnecessary. The factors stated above provide a suitable stimulus for a discussion in regards to the varying encounters of the Indigenous North Americans. A calamitous result of contact between the Indigenous North Americans and the European colonists was the massacre of many innocents and the frontier wars which caused heavy damage and losses on both sides. Although there were many cases where the native North Americans did try to resist European colonisation, disease contributed greatly to European dominance. ïżŒ Illustration from SahagĂșn, Historia general de las cosas de Nueva España, c. 1575 1580; ed., tr., James Lockhart, We People Here: Nahuatl Accounts of the Conquest Mexico (Univ. of California Press, 1993) An excerpt from the above book states: ... an epidemic broke out, a sickness of pustules. It began in Tepeilhuitl. Large bumps spread on people; some were entirely covered. . . .[The victims] could no longer walk about, but lay in their dwellings and sleeping places, . . . And when they made a motion, they called out loudly. The pustules that covered people caused great desolation; very many people died of them, and many just starved to death; starvation reigned, and no one took care of others any longer. This shows the severity of the natives contracting disease from the whites, especially since the immune system of the Indigenous North Americans was not so much to be called weak , however, it was vulnerable. On Dumpster Diving Rhetorical Analysis Lars Eighner represents the thousands of homeless people that have simply fallen victim of financial struggles, holding strongly onto his respect for others, his community, and himself, despite the difficulties he faces. However after falling on hard times, Eighner ended up homeless. While homeless in the late 80 s Eighner composed the essay On Dumpster Diving. It need not take long for one to find his purpose in writing the essay. Dumpster diving and homelessness are deeply connected to a notion of poor life choices, mental illness, and substance abuse. Dreams In Sandra Cisneros s The House On Mango Street During the novel, The House on Mango Street, author Sandra Cisneros relives a childhood similar to hers, where the main purpose of life is having the ability to dream. Most characters that live on Mango Street, such as Esperanza Cordero, dream of having a better life and deserting their past of poverty and struggle. Cisneros constantly makes this apparent to the reader because without struggle and pain, the reward of escaping the neighborhood is not as meaningful. Throughout the novel, The House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros develops the subject of dreaming through Esperanza s relationships female family members, the symbol of writing, and the motif of houses. To begin, Cisneros develops Esperanza s relationship with her mother and her friend, Alicia, in order to promote the fact that leaving a community like Mango Street is possible. These minor characters do not play a huge role in Esperanza s life, yet they unknowingly show her that it was, and still is possible to get out. Alicia is significant to Esperanza because she proves that it is possible to make it to college. When Esperanza hears that Alicia studies for the first time at the university (Cisneros 31), she sets this in her mind as an example of what she is capable of. • 16. Beowulf And The Epic s Christian Identity Beowulf and the Epic s Christian Identity Composed in early eighth century by an unknown author the epic poem Beowulf, follows the exploits of the protagonist of the same name. Originally composed orally by a tribe s scop, the epic of Beowulf delivers insight on the lives and adventures of characters that lived in the sixth century. Although, the tale of Beowulf was formulated during post Roman collapse by presumably pagan people; written around seven hundred A.D., it is probable that a Christian monk transcribed the grand narrative implanting Christian motifs and ideals into pagan Scandinavian culture. Therefore, the result of this concoction is a blended storyline infused with religious imagery and allusion along with traditional Nordic beliefs of war and honor. The tale, and arguably, the tragedy of Beowulf illustrate the conflict between the Pagan elements and Christian tenets, as aspects of both are present in the epic. The underlying Christian and Pagan values in Beowulf illustrate the iniquity of mankind and its eventual downfall through allusion to god, symbolism, and vices and virtues of warrior man. Firstly, Hrothgar s monologue foreshadows the climax and tragedy of man; moreover, Hrothgar s speech illuminates the end of both warrior and king. Clustering plays an important role in data mining process. Clustering is the approach of grouping the data into classes or clusters so that the objects within each cluster have high similarity in comparison with one another[12].The common approach of clustering techniques is that to find cluster centroid and then the data are clustered. Several clustering techniques are partitioning methods, hierarchical methods, density based methods, grid based methods, model based methods and constraint based clustering. Clustering is a challenging field of research in which its potential applications pose their own requirements [4]. Clustering is also called as the data segmentation because clustering method partitions the large data sets into smaller data groups according to their similarities. The main objective of cluster analysis is to increase intra group similarity and inter group dissimilarity. Detecting outlier is one of the important tasks. A failure to detect outliers or their ineffective handling can have serious ramifications on the strength of the inferences drained from the exercise [4]. This philosophy is described as critical idealism. The ideal philosophy treats the child as a spirit and the education approach/practice aims at liberating the spiritual essence of the child to remove any hindrances and obstacles and ensure that the inherent child s talents are exposed for later service of humanity. The pedagogy of Waldorf involves the gradual and natural unfolding of these preexisting abilities and talents of a child in a stage wise manner with the help of teachers and nature. It is important to note that child development takes a unique course for every child with some developing rapidly while some developing at a slow pace. The rate of development is affected by inherent factors such as genetic factors or environmental factors and health. Based on the variability in child development, the Waldorf curriculum is not rigid. Waldorf curriculum is essentially child centered. The child determines the course of the curriculum. Waldorf teachers ate therefore tasked with analyzing the spiritual and physical aspects of a child to determine the needs of each child and design appropriate teaching approach for the individual child. A Waldorf teacher, therefore, designs the curriculum based on both the developmental stage of a child and the class (Randoll and Peters, 2015). This teaching approach indicates that students in a class may not be actually at the same level. This approach contradicts with the public mainstream education which strives for a leveled learning for the purpose of evaluation. To ensure a developmental curriculum based on the developmental stages of the child and the class, Waldorf teachers have the freedom in teaching (Soule, n.d). They are free to alter and modify the curriculum to address the needs of a specific student. This approach is similar to guided reading in most mainstream public schools whereby a teacher identifies the specific reading levels of each student so as to address their needs appropriately. Eveline Hill sits at a window in her home and reminisce the times when she as a child played with other children in a field which now has been developed with new homes As Eveline was trying to make a major decision whether or not to move to Buenos Ayres (escape) with Frank. She holds two letters, one to her father, one to her brother Harry. She begins to favor the sunnier memories of her old family life, when her mother was alive and her brother was living at home. And she reasons that her life at home and doing all of those chores are hard, but perhaps not in the worst position her father isn t always mean, after all. This memory is also important for another reason as it suggests that a bond (or connection) still remains between Eveline, her siblings and her father. Despite how her father treats her, Eveline still feels connected to him. This pushes her to escape from the fate and embark on a new phase of life. Trenchless construction technologies are the underground methods used to build underground infrastructures without affecting the ground surface. The advantages of trenchless technologies are public safety and the cost impact for deeper excavation. Trenchless technologies minimize traffic impacts and road repairs. New trenchless technologies have been developed to precede the construction method which is best selected. When the method of trenchless construction is known, it gets easier to find out the technology to be used for construction. The selection of construction methods is important for placing or installing a construction unit. Researchers say that focusing on the construction method would give an idea of what kind of trenchless technologies can be used and how are they important. Some researchers say selection of construction method to propose new approaches for obtaining effective results. Ferrada and Serpell (2014) have reviewed saying selecting the best construction methods for an operation achieves high productivity. Elephant Reproduction Reproduction of Female Elephants Basic anatomy and physiology, artificial insemination, parturition, and social aspects of reproduction Introduction The study and research of reproduction in elephants is increasingly critical in consideration of the quickly dwindling population numbers and estimates. The current Asian elephant population is estimated to lie between 50,000 70,000 across the world, with 15,000 of these individuals in captivity. African elephant population numbers are low as well after serious culling through hunting and poaching. These numbers make the low reproduction rates a great concern as elephants do not currently sufficiently reproduce at an adequate rate to sustain population size.12 Reproductive Anatomy and ... In the instance that multiple donors are used, parentage is confirmed via DNA analysis. Most frequently, nonsurgical insemination is performed. This method calls for a trained and accommodating elephant as a large bore cannula is inserted into the lower urogenital tract. A 3m endoscope is inserted through the cannula and conducted to the hymen in first time mothers and the cervix or uterine horn of a cow that has calved.
