was added. The tube was shaken vigorously for three minutes. The mixture was allowed to stand
for 5 minutes. This was tested with a water blank.
III. Discussion and Interpretation of Results
A. Solubility and Acidity of carboxylic acids
п‚· Carboxylic acids are substances that have a general formula of RCO2H. They are
considered as Bronsted Lowry acids or proton donors. They are polar since they can be both be
hydrogen bond acceptor and donors due to the presence of the carbonyl and hydroxyl groups
respectively. There are instances that the hydroxyl and carbonyl group have the tendency to self
associate and become less soluble if the carbon no increases.
п‚· In the experiment, all the samples are soluble in water since they are polar and their number of
carbon atoms which can be shown with their chemical formula:

What Is The Similarities Between Religion And Religion
Throughout human history, religion has been on the forefront of what defines and brings us
closer together. It helps dictate how we treat ourselves and others as well as what we can do to
have an afterlife. Of the many religions that currently exist, Buddhism and Christianity are some
the the most practiced ones. These two religions have certain convictions, qualities and customs
which are truly alike, but they also have qualities, convictions and conventional practices are
very opposing. This makes the investigation of these two religions an intriguing and pleasurable
assignment. The similarities and differences of the two worship establishments are profound
and gives people diverse ways of thinking. The churches and temples play a significant role in
these two religions. These are the places where people can go to seek guidance, pray or meditate.
Visiting the churches and temples of these religions help individuals to understand in depth what
the religion is about from the inside and help philosophers to break down the true meaning of
religion. While visiting each church, there were different feelings as soon as I walked through the
doors. At the Buddhist temple, the greeters at the door and made sure I felt welcomed and
explained to me what was going to happen during the service. At the beginning of the service they
had a brief discussion lead by the teacher, followed by a silent group meditation. They then gave
me a book with the 37 practices of the Bodhisattvas and

Cultural Factors In Canada
Canada is considered one of the greatest countries to live in according to the World Happiness
Report 2015. This is represented through the quality of life of the people, the economic
development, the landforms, and many more factors. Since Canada is multicultural it has many
influences from many countries, mainly America, that it is difficult to show the distinct culture of
Canadaas a country. Americanism not only affected Canada, but also many other smaller countries
since America own most of the multi national corporations such as McDonald s. Some factors that
make Canada a distinct country are bilingualism, the Aboriginal people, and its symbols that
represents Canada. Multiculturalismaffects Canada s identity to shine and show Canada s... Show

This means Canada accepts many immigrants from different parts of the world. These people come
to Canada with different languages, cultures, motivations, and other backgrounds. Some even
establish their own country s restaurant or something related to their background. As many people
of the same background comes to Canada, there are many events related to them and Canada shows
importance to those events. For example, Chinese people are one of the largest population. In
Canada, people celebrate the Chinese new year in school, there is Chinatown, people respect the
fact that Chinese are allow to bring traditional food to school, and many more. This diverse
population in Canada makes people interested into different cultures. Their common knowledge of
other country s products, events and many more information will develop according to their
relationship with one another. For example, most Canadians would recognize Sushi as a japanese
food or it contains seaweed. This is because of the knowledge learned from one another through
news, communication, and the relationship with one another. Multiculturalism excludes racism and
lack of human rights. As more immigrants come to Canada there will be more cultures which is an
advantage and also a disadvantage to Canada because it overlaps Canada s true culture to the fact
that many people in Canada does not know what is the actual Canadian culture. Most of all,
Americanism has affected not only Canada but many other countries as well. This is due to more
business and trade since America owns most of the multi national corporations. People believe that
the American culture and the Canadian culture has no differences, these people are called the
Continentalists. Canada has many branches of American companies such as McDonalds ,
Starbucks, Wendy s, and many more other companies. On the other hand, the Nationalists thinks
that Canada itself has it own distinct culture and

have had 1098 complaints within the past three years. Their complaints consist of poor customer
support, suspended account issues, fund holding and account deactivation with no notification or
explanation.
Customer Service Square states they will respond to email s within 24 hours; however, it seems
they are taking between two and three days. Although the simple issues are being resolved more

happens is when a business completes a transaction, they then receive an email with a request to

accounts were still sometimes suspended and they were not able to access to their funds for 90
days. Furthermore, due to security reasons, the merchants were not told what condition of their
agreement they violated that resulted in their account being suspended. It seems many of Square s

Raphael
Raphael, and The Stanza Della Segnatura
Raphael Sanzio was one of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance. Raphael painted
and designed many brilliant pieces of work and the stanzas inside the Vatican. He was a master at
such necessities of modern art such as depth and perspective and the use of light and shadow, and
was the turning point styles of paintings like the use of Madonnas in paintings. Through his short
life, Raphael would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art
during the Italian Renaissance.
Raphael whose full name was Raphael Sanzio, (also known as Raphael Sanzi), was born on April
6th, 1483. He was born in the town of Urbino, Italy, where he would spend his childhood ... Show

Madonna of the Goldfinch was made in 1506, and does show a very human Mary. In Italian,
Madonna of the Goldfinch is Madonna del Cardellino. In that painting, Mary is shown holding St.
John, and St. John is holding a tiny bird for Jesus Christ, whom is an infant in that painting.
Leonardo s painting, The Virgin of the Rocks, probably influences Madonna of the Goldfinch for
the faces and figures are very similar. In Madonna of the Goldfinch and a few other paintings
Raphael made, he experimented with Leonardo s immense use of shade, but would always return to
the lighter tones that Perugino had taught him.
In 1508, at the age of 24, Pope Julius II invited Raphael to the Vatican. Raphael was summoned
to the Vatican to paint things like stanzas, and was probably recommended to the pope by
Domato Bramante, an architect. He was immediately well liked by the pope and everyone else at
the Vatican due to his personality; Raphael was a nice, gentle, and sensitive individual. As Giorgio
Vasari once said about Raphael, Raphael was so gentle and so charitable that even animals loved
him, not to speak of men. (Ruskin, p. 132)
In order for Raphael to paint stanzas Pope Julius II ordered some old frescoes to be washed away
from the Vatican walls. Although he made many stanzas, he only painted one stanza: the Stanza
Della Segnatura. In the other stanzas that

The Third Largest Coal Ash Spill
The third largest coal ash spill in United States history has left some citizens in North Carolina
fearing their water is not safe to drink. This fear is a result of anywhere between 50,000 and
82,000 tons of coal ash and up to twenty seven million gallons of contaminated water being dumped
into the Dan River in Eden, North Carolinaon February 2, 2014. The spill was caused by a busted
storm drain pipe that ran under an unlined coal ash pond at Duke Energy s Dan River Combined
Cycle Station ( Duke Energy s Grievous ). Coal ash is a byproduct of burning coal for energy and
contains substances such as arsenic, lead, and mercury. These toxic chemicals are not only harmful

Listed below are the proposed draft risk classifications for each facility in North Carolina as of
December 2015.
Draft Proposed Impoundment Classifications. DEQ. 31 Dec. 2015. Web. 8 Apr. 2016.
The coal ash that is buried underground still has the potential to seep into the neighboring water
supply. Also, the high risk ponds will not be evacuated until 2019 and the low intermediate risk
ponds as late as 2029. Subsequently, there will still be run off from these ponds polluting fresh
water for the time being ( House, Senate Approve ). This settlement is not a win for residents
surrounding these impoundments. Preventing seepage from coal ash ponds and completely
removing the coal ashes away from fresh water is the only way North Carolinians will feel safe
about their drinking water, no matter the proposed risk classification.
For instance, the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) handed out a Clean Water Act
permit to the Duke Energy Riverbend coal ash site on Mountain Island Lake on the Catawba
River which supplies water for Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Mount Holly, and Gastonia. This
pollution discharge permit is supposed to protect Mountain Island Lake from harmful coal ash
pollution coming out of the Duke Energy s Riverbend facility. In 2015, Duke Energy pleaded
guilty to criminal coal ash pollution and was issued to remove the coal ash pond at Riverbend. The
coal ash lagoons are scheduled to be

Stereotyping In Seedfolks
The characters in the novel Seedfolks have many different backgrounds and stories. Because of

He frequently notices that people judge him because he is both Caucasian and Jewish, so he
starts up conversations with random people. On page 31 of Seedfolks, Sam says, People see I m

The Feminization Of Poverty And Poverty
Poverty has increasingly become a noticeable issue worldwide over the past couple of decades.
With the middle class steadily decreasing, considerable amounts of people are becoming part of
the lower class, and even more of our world s population are beginning to live in poverty. It is
important to understand there are different definitions of poverty, and that is largely determined by
what each country s government determines as the cut off of poverty, otherwise known as the
poverty line . Although some people could live above the poverty line, and still be struggling
financially, it goes unrecognized by most research collection. However, what was initially
noticed around the 1970 s is that there was a significant rise in women s poverty statistics. More
female headed households were living in poverty, and a majority of those women belonged to a
minority. This recognizable trend has been deemed the feminization of poverty , which according
research is not only a growing problem in North America, but several other countries around the
world. Information gathered about this issue in the United States shows that female headed
households is by far the fastest growing type of family structure, and due to the fact there is a
growing poverty level amongst this group, it now means that approximately half of the all the poor
in the United States live in a women headed family and household. (Gimenez, 1999, p. 336) The
biggest question when is comes to this particular topic is why?

Essay On Age Related Macular Degeneration
The human eye is a remarkable feature that receives light, allowing a viewed object to be
transmitted as messages to the brain so that we understand what we see. It can detect something as
small as a candle flame from up to 15 miles away (under optimum conditions) as well as focus on
fine details. A pity, then, when this window to the soul is allowed to degenerate.
Not all eye diseases are caused by negligence but a large percentage is. Strain, an unbalanced diet,
a poor lifestyle, lack of awareness and bad habits can contribute to diminishing the wonders our
eyes offer.
Certain eye conditions are common, some developed through the natural process of aging and
others caused by disease, injury and exposure to chemicals. Let s see what they ... Show more

It s usually resolved through surgery which can restore a large percentage of vision unlike with
glaucoma.
AMD: Age related macular degeneration is primarily caused by old age. Where glaucoma affects
the peripheral vision, AMD targets the central vision. As such, blindness is rarely caused although
vision impairment is naturally present and may progress without treatment.
Treatment typically involves laser surgery, implanting a telescopic lens and increasing vitamin
intake.
AMD presents itself in one of two forms dry and wet. Dry AMD sees the macula (an area near the
retina) thinning to affect central vision. It s the more common form and progresses slowly. In wet
AMD, blood vessels behind the retina begin to grow under the macula to lead to leakage of blood
and fluid as well as scarring which further diminishes central vision.
Diabetic retinopathy: A common complication in diabetic patients, diabetic retinopathy occurs due
to damage to the retinal blood vessels. Proper diabetes management through control of blood sugar,
blood pressure and other necessary symptoms can see the condition brought to a halt and even
reversed to an extent.

The Life Of Lise Meitner
The Life of Lise Meitner
In the beginning of the life of one of the most significant female scientist to date, there was
obscurity. Born in Vienna, Austria on November 7th of 1878 during turmoil of war and
persecution that would seem to not cease throughout her life, she was bound to surpass her
limitations as a necessity to prosper the scientific status. Born the third child out of eight in a
Jewish family, she still was not one to go unnoticed or to be persuaded, as a strong minded
individual tends to be. At the time of her birth, her family was fairly wealthy, and though of Jewish
background, did not practice the religious beliefs of the Jewish heritage. This meant that although
she was Austrian in nationality, her ancestors practiced the Jewish way of life, yet it was not as
discernable in Meitner or her direct family. Her mother Hedwig Skovran, a musician, was not well
known but of enough skill to continue the occupation, while her father, Philipp Meitner, was a
lawyer and a master of chess. Her siblings, much like her parents, grew up to be detached from
the Jewish culture, which would lead them towards Christianity during a time of maltreatment of
those of Jewish features or religion. This change of religious beliefs would be reflected in
Meitner as well in 1908 at the age of thirty as she converted to the Lutheran church. This change of
religious practice would not make a difference after the rise of Hitler, which catalyzed the already
present disfavor towards the

Shakespearean works in my opion to stage, from its stormy, chaotic first scene to its sureality to its
ambiguous resolution, with Prospero facing his silent, treacherous brother and renouncing the
power that has made every action in the story possible. Potent language remains the central force
and mystery of this fathomless play. Prospero speaks almost a third of the lines in The Tempest,
and controls the amount of speech every other character on the island has through manipulation and
magic. Prospero s narrative of how he came to the island, what he did once there, and what he is
owed for this history, goes largely unchallenged in the text. Yet

I think that what Prospero is doing here has much to do with the process of the Othering as a
method to make a binary opposition so that he can justify all his brutal and inhuman actions
towards Caliban. BartolomГ© de Las Casas 16th century Spanish historian talks about this
process of Othering or let s say considering the Others to be barbarous just because they cannot
speak fluently the language of the Colonizer s, just like what Prospero does towards Caliban,
and he argues that it is not just, because the Others can also consider us as barbarous for not
knowing our language: Prospero teaches Caliban to speak his language, but never gives him
access to his books. There is no indication that Miranda ever sets her hands on these fabled tomes,
either: Prospero controls the reality of both Caliban and Miranda through language and stories,
giving them no other means of education or perspective. Caliban, forced to use the language of his
oppressor, resorts to curses, and knows that the way to destroy Prospero is through his books,
telling Stefano and Trinculo to burn them before they kill him. These books have an

The First Airborne Jamming Test
These developments in radar prompted experiments to find whether or not ITS transmission could
be denied or defeated. The first airborne jamming test took place in London and involved a
continuous wave transmitter. Following this test, anti jamming systems were attached to the
direction finding systems which then evolved into the Chain Home radar system along the eastern
coast of the U.K. These anti jamming systems were the first examples of electronic counter counter
measures which is now a sub category of electronic warfare called electronic protection. (price 9

the United States Navy possessed radar, high frequency direction finding systems and anti jamming
devices.
Throughout the year of 1940, the Germans and the British conducted a series of back and forth
electronic attacks and counterattacks AFFECTING the German s ability to bomb Britain during the
night with low visibility. The German s employed various radio technologies to acquire night
bombing capabilities where they could intersect two transmitted radio waves that followed the
correct flight path in order to ensure the German pilots could maintain a continuous course. The
German s even used the British s own Chain Home defense as reference points during this
evolution. The UK would continually modify their systems and employ electronic warfare tactics to
jam the German s beams.

Powerlifting Squat
Before you get under the bar, there are a few necessary steps needed to perform a proper
powerlifting squat. Some off these steps aren t full required, but are highly recommended. The
items required for a competition squat are a 100% polyester powerlifting suit, flat bottom tenny
shoes, 100% cotton tighty whities, and long ankle socks. The first step in preparing for a
competition squat is putting on the suit. The US high school powerliftingassociation requires all
lifters of both genders to wear tight and white underwear or go coverless. Most lifters prefer to
go coverless for more comfort. A powerlifting suit should be as tight as possible for maximum
support. Now it s time for socks and shoes. Your socks must be 100% cotton and white or the
judges won t let you lift. Your shoes must be flat bottom because any shoe with a long heel can
lead to major ankle and knee injuries. Next is the dreaded warm up. The warm up is a crucial
part of powerlifting. Not warming up can lead to major joint discomfort and soreness. When
warming up, make sure to treat it as an actual lift. Try to imagine the judges giving you your

Epidemiological Causal Inference Model Essay
1.What is the epidemiological causal inference model used by the authors? How did they apply the
model to the association they studied?
My article selection is based on miscommunition and patient safety in a healthcare setting. The
model that the author implemented to help better understand the significance of this issue is the
Swiss Cheese Accident Causation Model. What this model represents is how a domino effect of
miscommunication throughout different stages in corresponding with patients and medical staff
can ulyimatly leads to the possibility of delayed healthcare, accidents, or even death . The holes in
the model concept represent a breakdown in safety errors that can trigger deficiencies due to latent
errors with such as organizational errors, environment, miscommunication, reliability. When these
holes in the defensive layers align, then certain hazards can lead to an accident . In the healthcare
setting each year miscommunication is said to contribute to estimate costing $1.7 billion dollars,
which is then distributed to medical malpractice cases which in turns effects roughly 1,700
lives(Spoke,2017)

Benito Mussolini And His Creation Of Fascism
Benito Mussolini and his creation of Fascism was the glue that held Italy together. Fascism
promised national unity and condemned the Socialist party. To understand how Fascism became
powerful within Italy, it is imperative to acknowledge the driving force behind this regime. To put
it bluntly, violence played an essential role in the development of the Fascist party. Mussolini s
practice of fierceness was able to create a formidable system of government that did not tolerate
weakness. In 1919, Benito Mussolini give an Afternoon speech, where he stressed the difference
between Socialism and Fascism. Here, he states, We declare war, against socialism, not because it
is socialism, but because it opposes nationalism (Stone 2013, 38).... Show more content on

Here, he states, We must go halfway toward meeting the workers... we must approach the workers
who are returning from the trenches...we must therefore accept the demand of the working class
(Stone 2013, 38). In making this comment, Mussolini argues that the working class should be
valued and recognized for their hard work and contributions. Where, his government will appreciate
the common people, the Socialist party has done nothing but abandoned them. The socialist party
does not care about taking responsibility of their citizens: those who have returned from war, those
who work many hours without sufficient pay or insurance. Mussolini wanted to get the people on
his side and to illustrate for them a world of economic democracy.
Furthermore, to answer the main question, violence was always Mussolini s goal but in order for
that to happen Mussolini had to make sure he had the people s trust. With that trust, he was able
to manipulate individuals. Actually, some of the workers joined the Fascist squad and became
just as violent as the soldiers were. During the Afternoon s speech Mussolini also states, But let us
not dwell on the details. Of all questions to be resolved, the first that interest us the most is that of
creating a governing class and endowing it with the necessary powers (Stone 2013, 39). Prior to
this he talked about political reforms and having equal rights for both men and

Compare And Contrast Allorganic Vs Osteopathic
There is more than one type of doctorate in the medical field. A physician can earn either an
allopathic (MD) or an osteopathic (DO) degree. An allopathic degree is the more traditional form of
medical education that focuses on treating and eliminating disease with medicines. An osteopathic
education focuses more on holistic medicine, preventing disease and an additional 300 to 500 hours
of hands on musculoskeletal manipulation training (Medline Plus). The philosophy between the
two paths may differ, but at the end of either path is a fully qualified doctor. My mother is family
physicianand a doctor of osteopathy or DO. My father is a cardiologist and a medical doctor or
MD. Even though one is an osteopathic physician and the other an allopathic physician, they have
both had very similar experiences. To become a physician, whether allopathic or osteopathic,

Temperature Of Alka Seltzer
Alka Seltzer being affected by different temperatures in different cups
Research Question How does the temperature affect the speed in which an Alka Seltzer tablet fully
dissolves in three cups filled with water with different temperatures.
Background Information A chemical reaction is a process that involves change of the molecular or
ionic structure of a substance, as opposed to a change in physical form or a nuclear reaction. The
key concepts of a chemical reaction are:
The atoms and molecules that interact with each other are called reactants
The molecules and atoms produced in a chemical reaction are called products
No atoms are destroyed or created they only end up in other products
Reactants collide with each other so new bonds between atoms in the reactants are broken, and
atoms rearrange and form new bonds to make new products ... Show more content on

A larger concentration of products is usually linked to a lower reaction rate.
Usually an increase in temperature in a chemical reaction means that there will be an increase in
the reaction rate of the reactants. Temperature is a measure of the kinetic energy of a system. If
temperature is the measure of the kinetic energy of a system, higher temperature implies a higher
average kinetic energy of molecules and more collisions per time. This would happen because when
the temperature is increased and the reactants will start moving faster and will collide more than
before with other reactants and will start forming products.
This image explains that the higher the temperature, the concentration, and the pressure the faster
the rate of the reaction is.

Interstate-Highway System Research Paper
Being a child in a military family, I ve seen a lot of highways and interstates, whether they re well
maintained or extremely hectic. These roads are what connect the entire country and make travel
easier. The history of our interstate highway systems involved many bumps in the road, but the
United States greatly benefitted from the building of these systems. Some challenges and benefits
faced by the government when creating the highway system were the need for safer roads, funding
for construction, and being an economy booster, while future challenges and benefits, as stated by
U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Elaine L Chao are predicted to be keeping safety the number one
priority of the roads, the President announcing a budget for transportation systems, and smart
technology still requiring human interaction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the roads were paved and travel was greatly improved, the biggest priority was safety. As
stated by Chao during the U.S. Department of Transportation Open House, the goal is to prevent
accidents and fatalities before they happen (16). Safety has been very important to those leading
our country since the days the roads were not even paved yet, and continues to be very important to
ensure the country is as efficient as possible. Funding for construction was hard to obtain when
roads were just starting to be improved. According to Arnesen, Congress even passed a Federal Aid
Highway Act in 1944, but it didn t provide any money to fund construction (3). This made building
roads that were of decent quality much more difficult. So when the President s recently announced
budget protected operations that included safety, it opened up many opportunities for the U.S.

Using Colorimetry To Determine The Concentration Of Copper...
Introduction: The goal of this lab was to use the technique of colorimetry to determine the
concentration of the Cupper (II) ion, Cu2+, in a sample of ore. Then a colorimeter or
spectrophotometer probe was used to determine the relationship between concentration and light
absorbance Using the known solutions of Cu2+concentrations. Points were then graphed which
allowed determination of the concentrationof the solutionwith unknown Cu2+concentration from
its absorbance measurement. A standard curves shows the relationship between two variables. In
this investigation the two variables that were showing a relationship were absorbance and
concentration. Which are used in the beer lambert law. A=bC A standard curve was used to
represent the relationship between the absorbance and concentration from that equation. Ten
different dilutions were formed. From those dilutions the concentration and absorbance was
determined. Then these values were plotted. Absorbance was plotted on the y axis and
concentration was plotted on the x axis. A straight line was formed.

Her Divine Call on July 31, 1991
It all began on, July 31, 1991, when Linda Smith received the call that would change her life
indefinitely. At 1:01 am she was divinely called out by name and presented with a prophetic
revelation. God revealed Four D Success Academy: an acronym with profound meaning: the Desire
to achieve, the Determination to follow through, the Drive needed to maintain consistent efforts
toward success, and the ability to Deliver by reaching one s goals. At the time she could not grasp
the magnitude of what Godhad bestowed upon her life. Linda Smith a founder of Four D Success
Academy? This was an unfathomable thought at the time, because she had no background in the
educational realm. However, carrying the conviction of Gods divine call, prompted her to take
action. I knew God was only going to call me once, I couldn t afford not to respond , she
affirmed. That same year she resigned after serving 35 years as a registered nurse, and took a
leap of faith into Four D s future. Initially, her husband and children were perplexed by what
seemed to be a hasty decision. However, Linda gained their support through her own confidence in
God s plan.
It has been 22 years since Linda received her divine call. Her story has not changed, but her life
has. Since that day, Four D has blossomed into the first African American owned, accredited

The Banking Concept Of Education Summary
The banking concept of education is a short essay written by Paulo Freire, which describes his
views on inadequate education. The banking concept of education and the problem posing
education method are two teaching methods Freire uses to explain the differences between what is
inadequate teaching and what is not. The banking concept of educationis a method of teaching
education to students as if they are depositories and the teacher is the depositor. Students only
receive the information from the teacher to memorize and report. The problem posing education
method involves a combination of the teacher teaching the student and the student teaching the
teacher through dialogue. This makes the classroom environment more interactive. Freire... Show

those who consider themselves knowledgeable upon those whom they consider to know nothing .
This means the teacher knows everything and the student knows nothing. For the problem posing

as unfinished, uncompleted beings in and with likewise unfinished reality. The unfinished character
of reality necessitates that education be an ongoing activity . Freire urges to move away the
traditional education system and use alternative education methods like the problem posing method

Campus Carry Laws Will Allow Law Abiding Citizens
College is a time of rapid change in a young person s life, it can be many things but most
importantly it is a time where students start to truly grow into their academic abilities. All
students deserve an equal chance to grow in a safe learning environment, but this is not always
possible as our culture has become more violent in recent years. Campus carry laws will allow
law abiding citizens to protect themselves in a sacred institution, which has seen significant rises
in violence in recent years. Not every tragedy is preventable, but allowing a person who has a
permit to carry their weaponat school can prevent future massacres.
Although every state has different laws stating their views about having guns on campus, there
is one thing in common among states that allow guns at schools: those who do carry must do so
with the utmost awareness One such responsible person is Huyler Marsh, who is a competitive
target shooter and is one of the few students who has decided to carry at the University of Texas.
He believes that he should be able to be responsible for his own safety and not have to rely on
others. Albeit states like Texas do not require a permit to carry a weapon, other places do such as
Colorado and Idaho among several others; requirements vary by state but all applicants must prove
they are both mentally competent and physically capable of properly handling a gun as well as
multiple background checks. If a person is properly trained with a weapon and they

The Evolution Of Monogamy In Mammals
The evolution of monogamy in mammals has been challenging to understand for ecologists for
many years, because in most cases male mammals are thought to have higher fitness through
polygamous mating. One of the principles of evolution is that animals want to maximize their
reproductive success, so two animals committing to one another kind of seems counter intuitive.
Animals want to pass on their genes to the next generation, and having more offspring means there
s a higher chance of survival. When females have long lactation periods or gestation, they are
unable to mate during this time, so it would seem to be advantageous for the maleto move on to
their next mate. In a biology context, monogamyis when one male mates to one femaleforming an
exclusive bond. Research shows that approximately 3 5% of mammals are considered
monogamous compared to about 90% of birds and out of a total of 4,000 mammalian species
(Munshi South). Birds seem to be extremely monogamous because both male and female birds
actively participate in the growth of their hatchlings. The equitable division of the labor gives the
male bird more of a reason to stick around (Munshi South).
Although most mammals are not monogamous why do some of them exhibit this behavior? We
could address this question by looking at different examples of monogamous mammals and what
genetic and environmental factors could have influenced this behavior. We can also look at what
hormones could be involved in pair bonding

The Scarlett Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay
Middle class women in the early nineteenth century became known only for their passionless
sexuality and the ability to bear children (Myers Shirk). While married men had the option to
impregnate any woman they chose, women had the primary responsibility of raising the children
while remaining faithful. During this era, common practice dictated that only women would face
prosecution for infidelityor else face charges of a serious crime (Mawa). Society s frame of mind
during this time served to place men at the top of the gender hierarchy until, later in the century
(Myers Shirk). The notion that women received unjust treatment as compared to men also existed
in the literature of that era. The Scarlett Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne illustrates the
disparity of equality at the time. In this book, the author writes of a woman, Hester Prynne, who
committed adultery and bore a child out of wedlock. Hester s punishment handed down by the
church resulted in incarceration followed by parading her through the town in an effort to shame
her for her misdeeds (Hawthorne).
During this time period, women in New York formed a Female Moral Reform Society Program.
This program s primary goal encouraged women to end men s immoral view of them in general.
Specifically, the program appealed to society to view women as more than just a vessel for
reproduction. Moreover, there existed an inherent desire to educate future generations with regard
to the respect that women

Descriptive Essay On Snowboarding
Professional snowboarder
Imagine being at the top of the world, on a bitter cold mountain, over top of an enormous crowd.
Below where you stand, the lustrous lights are shining on a massive jump, that seems larger than
the mountain itself, created for the professional snowboard competition. This gargantuan jump will
decide whether you win or lose the competition. Becoming a professional snowboarder has been a
dream to me ever since I first was beginning to snowboard. Being on top of the enormous slope and
strapping into my bindings instantly made me relaxed and put a grin larger than the slope itself
on my face. Everytime I glide down the face of the mountain I become focused and dialed in on
my riding. When becoming a professional snowboarder as an occupation, I would compete in
large competitions such as the X Games or the Olympics to win prizes and gain popularity. The
excitement from competing in such a competition and the view the crowd would be something I
would have dreamed of in my early stages of snowboarding. The experience would give me an
overwhelming amount of adrenaline and make it feel as though my childhood dreams had sprung
legs and walked through time towards my present day self. Professional snowboarding
competitions would be give me the joy and passion as a dream job all while traveling and being
with my friends.
I am now a professional snowboarder with my friends at Mammoth Mountain, the local resort,
anxiously preparing for the X Games slopestyle competition that is a few days away. The
slopestyle competition that I am competing in is a snowboarding course that consists of rails and
jumps that are scored from 1 to 10 points. Being the perfectionist that I strive to be, I have set a
goal of scoring a 10 on all of the features that I will tentatively encounter throughout the course. To
further prepare myself, my friends consecutively ride with me through all of the features in the
terrain park, which includes rails and jumps, to help me reach my goal at the upcoming slopestyle
competition. While riding through the park as effortlessly as a snowflake fluttering through the

Uncle Charley is the foil to Willy in the way Charley always set realistic goals and was very

anything he wanted to which was not realistic. To Biff Bernard is his foil due to the fact in high

The Mannequin
A family owned a shop known for the one of a kind mannequins and beautiful clothing, but it had

Those thoughts frightened her as her dear loving grandmother would fall ill and would even act out

Motivation, Intrinsic And Extrinsic Motivation
Motivation is a very important factor no matter what sport you coach or what the team or athlete
goals are. A true coach must be able to understand their athlete and be able to tap into their
motivation, maximizing their performance. Chapter four was written about two particular types of
motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic. No matter what theory you believe, all theories boil down to
these two types of motivation. Knowing the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation,
can help you hone in on athletes, their goals, and help them maximize their performance.
Succeeding in sports, really boils down to three main characteristics, helping athletes set goals
and work towards them, conducting reviews of athlete s performance with the athlete, and
conduct team sessions. When it comes towards motivation, the easiest way to get an athlete
working towards a goal is to sit down and conduct a goal setting session with them. Every person
has goals they want to attain, but may not know how to deploy a plan of action towards
achieving those goals. There are many ways to conduct goal setting, some ways are easier than
others. One I like to use is a seven step process. The athlete writes down their goal, being very
specific, define where you are right now, identify key areas to improve on in order to achieve the
goal, identify actions to take and attitudes to help keep moving towards the goal, identify a short
term goal to begin momentum, create an image of the goal that an

I See The Ever Approaching Thunder, By Anne Frank
I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder,
which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the
heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and the peace and
tranquility will return again (Frank 276 277). What kind of girl would be able to say such a
beautiful statement with the possibility of death looming? Anne Frankcould view the world in a
way that is becoming near impossible positively. She was a teenage Jewish girl who lived in
Amsterdam, Holland during World War II. She and her family went into hiding in 1942 and
were soon joined by the Van Pelses (Enzer and Solotaroff Enzer, eds. xxiii). While she was in the
attic, she wrote her diary, which would eventually become a famous historical document. She
recorded her grumblings about her attic mates behaviors and her feelings about herself and the
Van Pelses boy. Through the two year period she was in the attic, she wrote surprisingly
philosophical observations of the world, and she also learned a vast amount of information about
herself. After her death, her father published the diary, and Anne Frank quickly became a name that
everyone knew. Although Anne s time on Earth was brief and short lived, her legacy has inspired

Punk Rock Is Bullshit Summary
To understand the point that John Roderick is trying to convey in Punk Rock is Bullshit: How a
toxic social movement poisoned our culture, we don t actually have to read the full paper. This
is because he emphasizes his point and opinion about punk rock right in the title. Rather than
trying to understand his point, I want to clarify that his opinion on this matter is not the only
opinion, as indicated by the paper following it, A few thoughts on That Punk Rock Is Bullshit
Essay, by Ally Schweitzer. I can understand where Roderick is coming from, since all he is doing
is putting his perspective forward and we all have the right to do so. But, I would say that I
neither agree nor disagree with him, but still that he is being too harsh on the subject at hand.
Since I have never shown any interest in punk rock, I m more of a hip... Show more content on

Nevertheless, punk shouldn t be held to such high standards of influence. It s influential; it s
something that made misfits feel as though they had a place, but not something to be held to the
unattainably high standards. All things considered, it did do something positive, it provided a home
and inclusive environment for those who were frustrated and just plain angry. Not to mention, at
some point in his paper, Roderick makes a claim against punk saying that it ...didn t end racism,
sexism, or homophobia... Honestly, if any one thing ended racism, sexism and homophobia all
together, I would applaud it, but to say that punk rock didn t do any of this is not a genuine,
legitimate point. Maybe I could be wrong, but think about this, is there anything out there that has
ended any of this yet? Because i m considerably sure they all still exist and will continue to exist
for a while, I can t say how long but I can not imagine them disappearing in my

What Caused The Bosnian Genocide
The genocide in Bosnia ended in 1995 with a peace agreement which stopped the war. This
peace treaty was negotiated in Dayton, Ohio and signed in Paris. In July of 1996, West forces
Karadzic to quit as the Bosnian Serb president who was in office for roughly four years. The war
in Bosnia created two states: the Serb Republic and the Bosnian Federation. One of the many
struggles that survivors faced were that they did not know where their loved ones met or were
buried. During the genocide, mass barryings were conducted and many loved ones were dislocated
and lost when the government buried all the bodies after the war. In an attempt to cover up the
mass graves, the government dug up the graves and scattered the graves which made it even harder

Nettle Research Paper
Nettle is a broad leafed plant that causes a hive like rash and burning (urticaria) after being
touched. The rash is caused by hairs on the leaves of the nettle plant. When you brush past the
plant, these tiny hairs break off on your skin and release formic acid into your skin. This also
causes histamine to be released by cells in the skin. Both of these chemicals are irritating to the
skin. Both chemicals contribute to the rash. The rash is from a buildup of fluid in the skin. In
severe cases, this may be followed by swelling in other parts of the body as well. If swelling
occurs around the eyes, lips, tongue, larynx, or hands it is called angioneurotic edema. Any allergic
rash, such as urticaria or hives, may be called nettle rash even... Show more content on

Cramps, diarrhea, and wheezing can happen with a severe allergic reaction. DIAGNOSIS The
diagnosis of nettle rash is made easily by the history of coming in contact with stinging nettle.
You usually know about the contact immediately from symptoms produced by the plant. Your
caregiver will also know from the history given and by examining you. TREATMENT Mild
cases can generally be treated at home. In more severe cases, you should consult your caregiver.
As soon as you can find water, wash the exposed area. The discomfort generally goes away
almost immediately. You may use an over the counter antihistamine (diphenhydramine) for hives
and itching as needed. Do not drive or drink alcohol until medications used to treat the reaction
have worn off. Antihistamines tend to make people sleepy. Apply cold cloths (compresses) to
the skin or take baths in cool water. This will help itching. Avoid hot baths or showers. Heat will
make the rash and itching worse. A paste made of baking soda and water applied to the rash may
help relieve itching. Calamine lotion and/or aloe vera applied to rash will give relief. Sunscreen
with aloe vera can be

It helps dictate how we treat ourselves and others as well as what we can do to have an afterlife. Of the many religions that currently exist, Buddhism and Christianity are some the the most practiced ones. These two religions have certain convictions, qualities and customs which are truly alike, but they also have qualities, convictions and conventional practices are very opposing. This makes the investigation of these two religions an intriguing and pleasurable assignment. The similarities and differences of the two worship establishments are profound and gives people diverse ways of thinking. The churches and temples play a significant role in these two religions. These are the places where people can go to seek guidance, pray or meditate. Through his short life, Raphael would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art during the Italian Renaissance. Leonardo s painting, The Virgin of the Rocks, probably influences Madonna of the Goldfinch for the faces and figures are very similar. In Madonna of the Goldfinch and a few other paintings Raphael made, he experimented with Leonardo s immense use of shade, but would always return to the lighter tones that Perugino had taught him. In 1508, at the age of 24, Pope Julius II invited Raphael to the Vatican. Raphael was summoned to the Vatican to paint things like stanzas, and was probably recommended to the pope by Domato Bramante, an architect. He was immediately well liked by the pope and everyone else at the Vatican due to his personality; Raphael was a nice, gentle, and sensitive individual. As Giorgio Vasari once said about Raphael, Raphael was so gentle and so charitable that even animals loved him, not to speak of men. This fear is a result of anywhere between 50,000 and 82,000 tons of coal ash and up to twenty seven million gallons of contaminated water being dumped into the Dan River in Eden, North Carolinaon February 2, 2014. The spill was caused by a busted storm drain pipe that ran under an unlined coal ash pond at Duke Energy s Dan River Combined Cycle Station ( Duke Energy s Grievous ). Coal ash is a byproduct of burning coal for energy and contains substances such as arsenic, lead, and mercury. These toxic chemicals are not only harmful to the environment but to the human population as well (Christian).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Listed below are the proposed draft risk classifications for each facility in North Carolina as of December 2015. Draft Proposed Impoundment Classifications. DEQ. 31 Dec. 2015. Web. 8 Apr. 2016. The coal ash that is buried underground still has the potential to seep into the neighboring water supply. Also, the high risk ponds will not be evacuated until 2019 and the low intermediate risk ponds as late as 2029. Subsequently, there will still be run off from these ponds polluting fresh water for the time being ( House, Senate Approve ). This settlement is not a win for residents surrounding these impoundments. Preventing seepage from coal ash ponds and completely removing the coal ashes away from fresh water is the only way North Carolinians will feel safe about their drinking water, no matter the proposed risk classification. • 12. The Feminization Of Poverty And Poverty Poverty has increasingly become a noticeable issue worldwide over the past couple of decades. With the middle class steadily decreasing, considerable amounts of people are becoming part of the lower class, and even more of our world s population are beginning to live in poverty. It is important to understand there are different definitions of poverty, and that is largely determined by what each country s government determines as the cut off of poverty, otherwise known as the poverty line . Although some people could live above the poverty line, and still be struggling financially, it goes unrecognized by most research collection. However, what was initially noticed around the 1970 s is that there was a significant rise in women s poverty statistics. More female headed households were living in poverty, and a majority of those women belonged to a minority. This recognizable trend has been deemed the feminization of poverty , which according research is not only a growing problem in North America, but several other countries around the world. Information gathered about this issue in the United States shows that female headed households is by far the fastest growing type of family structure, and due to the fact there is a growing poverty level amongst this group, it now means that approximately half of the all the poor in the United States live in a women headed family and household. Treatment typically involves laser surgery, implanting a telescopic lens and increasing vitamin intake. AMD presents itself in one of two forms dry and wet. Dry AMD sees the macula (an area near the retina) thinning to affect central vision. It s the more common form and progresses slowly. In wet AMD, blood vessels behind the retina begin to grow under the macula to lead to leakage of blood and fluid as well as scarring which further diminishes central vision. • 14. The Life Of Lise Meitner The Life of Lise Meitner In the beginning of the life of one of the most significant female scientist to date, there was obscurity. Born in Vienna, Austria on November 7th of 1878 during turmoil of war and persecution that would seem to not cease throughout her life, she was bound to surpass her limitations as a necessity to prosper the scientific status. Born the third child out of eight in a Jewish family, she still was not one to go unnoticed or to be persuaded, as a strong minded individual tends to be. At the time of her birth, her family was fairly wealthy, and though of Jewish background, did not practice the religious beliefs of the Jewish heritage. This meant that although she was Austrian in nationality, her ancestors practiced the Jewish way of life, yet it was not as discernable in Meitner or her direct family. Her mother Hedwig Skovran, a musician, was not well known but of enough skill to continue the occupation, while her father, Philipp Meitner, was a lawyer and a master of chess. Her siblings, much like her parents, grew up to be detached from the Jewish culture, which would lead them towards Christianity during a time of maltreatment of those of Jewish features or religion. This change of religious beliefs would be reflected in Meitner as well in 1908 at the age of thirty as she converted to the Lutheran church. This change of religious practice would not make a difference after the rise of Hitler, which catalyzed the already present disfavor towards the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fascism promised national unity and condemned the Socialist party. To understand how Fascism became powerful within Italy, it is imperative to acknowledge the driving force behind this regime. To put it bluntly, violence played an essential role in the development of the Fascist party. Mussolini s practice of fierceness was able to create a formidable system of government that did not tolerate weakness. Where, his government will appreciate the common people, the Socialist party has done nothing but abandoned them. The socialist party does not care about taking responsibility of their citizens: those who have returned from war, those who work many hours without sufficient pay or insurance. Mussolini wanted to get the people on his side and to illustrate for them a world of economic democracy. Furthermore, to answer the main question, violence was always Mussolini s goal but in order for that to happen Mussolini had to make sure he had the people s trust. With that trust, he was able to manipulate individuals. Actually, some of the workers joined the Fascist squad and became just as violent as the soldiers were. During the Afternoon s speech Mussolini also states, But let us not dwell on the details. • 33. The Evolution Of Monogamy In Mammals The evolution of monogamy in mammals has been challenging to understand for ecologists for many years, because in most cases male mammals are thought to have higher fitness through polygamous mating. One of the principles of evolution is that animals want to maximize their reproductive success, so two animals committing to one another kind of seems counter intuitive. Animals want to pass on their genes to the next generation, and having more offspring means there s a higher chance of survival. When females have long lactation periods or gestation, they are unable to mate during this time, so it would seem to be advantageous for the maleto move on to their next mate. In a biology context, monogamyis when one male mates to one femaleforming an exclusive bond. Research shows that approximately 3 5% of mammals are considered monogamous compared to about 90% of birds and out of a total of 4,000 mammalian species (Munshi South). Birds seem to be extremely monogamous because both male and female birds actively participate in the growth of their hatchlings. The equitable division of the labor gives the male bird more of a reason to stick around (Munshi South). Although most mammals are not monogamous why do some of them exhibit this behavior? We could address this question by looking at different examples of monogamous mammals and what genetic and environmental factors could have influenced this behavior. We can also look at what hormones could be involved in pair bonding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Scarlett Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay Middle class women in the early nineteenth century became known only for their passionless sexuality and the ability to bear children (Myers Shirk). While married men had the option to impregnate any woman they chose, women had the primary responsibility of raising the children while remaining faithful. During this era, common practice dictated that only women would face prosecution for infidelityor else face charges of a serious crime (Mawa). Society s frame of mind during this time served to place men at the top of the gender hierarchy until, later in the century (Myers Shirk). The notion that women received unjust treatment as compared to men also existed in the literature of that era. The Scarlett Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne illustrates the disparity of equality at the time. In this book, the author writes of a woman, Hester Prynne, who committed adultery and bore a child out of wedlock. Hester s punishment handed down by the church resulted in incarceration followed by parading her through the town in an effort to shame her for her misdeeds (Hawthorne). During this time period, women in New York formed a Female Moral Reform Society Program. This program s primary goal encouraged women to end men s immoral view of them in general. Specifically, the program appealed to society to view women as more than just a vessel for reproduction. Moreover, there existed an inherent desire to educate future generations with regard to the respect that women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Descriptive Essay On Snowboarding Professional snowboarder Imagine being at the top of the world, on a bitter cold mountain, over top of an enormous crowd. Below where you stand, the lustrous lights are shining on a massive jump, that seems larger than the mountain itself, created for the professional snowboard competition. This gargantuan jump will decide whether you win or lose the competition. Becoming a professional snowboarder has been a dream to me ever since I first was beginning to snowboard. Being on top of the enormous slope and strapping into my bindings instantly made me relaxed and put a grin larger than the slope itself on my face. Everytime I glide down the face of the mountain I become focused and dialed in on my riding. When becoming a professional snowboarder as an occupation, I would compete in large competitions such as the X Games or the Olympics to win prizes and gain popularity. The excitement from competing in such a competition and the view the crowd would be something I would have dreamed of in my early stages of snowboarding. The experience would give me an overwhelming amount of adrenaline and make it feel as though my childhood dreams had sprung legs and walked through time towards my present day self. Professional snowboarding competitions would be give me the joy and passion as a dream job all while traveling and being with my friends. I am now a professional snowboarder with my friends at Mammoth Mountain, the local resort, anxiously preparing for the X Games slopestyle competition that is a few days away. The slopestyle competition that I am competing in is a snowboarding course that consists of rails and jumps that are scored from 1 to 10 points. Being the perfectionist that I strive to be, I have set a goal of scoring a 10 on all of the features that I will tentatively encounter throughout the course. To further prepare myself, my friends consecutively ride with me through all of the features in the terrain park, which includes rails and jumps, to help me reach my goal at the upcoming slopestyle competition. While riding through the park as effortlessly as a snowflake fluttering through the air, I was overjoyed to be able to ride with friends. One especially revealing point is in the beginning of the play he comes home from work and contradicts himself to no end, when talking about Biff he says Biff is a lazy bum! then later going on to contradict himself saying There s one thing about Biff he s not lazy later in the same dialogue. This shows that Willy is unstable in his thoughts and not in the right mind. Uncle Charley is the foil to Willy in the way Charley always set realistic goals and was very truthful to himself while Willy was always telling himself he was the best and he could do anything he wanted to which was not realistic. She recalls the memories of her grandmother talking to herself as well as having bizarre discussions or even hallucinations at times. Those thoughts frightened her as her dear loving grandmother would fall ill and would even act out violently at times of frustration. • 41. Motivation, Intrinsic And Extrinsic Motivation Motivation is a very important factor no matter what sport you coach or what the team or athlete goals are. A true coach must be able to understand their athlete and be able to tap into their motivation, maximizing their performance. Chapter four was written about two particular types of motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic. No matter what theory you believe, all theories boil down to these two types of motivation. Knowing the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, can help you hone in on athletes, their goals, and help them maximize their performance. Succeeding in sports, really boils down to three main characteristics, helping athletes set goals and work towards them, conducting reviews of athlete s performance with the athlete, and conduct team sessions. When it comes towards motivation, the easiest way to get an athlete working towards a goal is to sit down and conduct a goal setting session with them. Every person has goals they want to attain, but may not know how to deploy a plan of action towards achieving those goals. There are many ways to conduct goal setting, some ways are easier than others. One I like to use is a seven step process. The athlete writes down their goal, being very specific, define where you are right now, identify key areas to improve on in order to achieve the goal, identify actions to take and attitudes to help keep moving towards the goal, identify a short term goal to begin momentum, create an image of the goal that an ... • 42. I See The Ever Approaching Thunder, By Anne Frank I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and the peace and tranquility will return again (Frank 276 277). What kind of girl would be able to say such a beautiful statement with the possibility of death looming? Anne Frankcould view the world in a way that is becoming near impossible positively. She was a teenage Jewish girl who lived in Amsterdam, Holland during World War II. She and her family went into hiding in 1942 and were soon joined by the Van Pelses (Enzer and Solotaroff Enzer, eds. xxiii). While she was in the attic, she wrote her diary, which would eventually become a famous historical document. She recorded her grumblings about her attic mates behaviors and her feelings about herself and the Van Pelses boy. Through the two year period she was in the attic, she wrote surprisingly philosophical observations of the world, and she also learned a vast amount of information about herself. After her death, her father published the diary, and Anne Frank quickly became a name that everyone knew. Although Anne s time on Earth was brief and short lived, her legacy has inspired many through her well written diary. • 43. Peppered Moth Essay The Peppered Moths Model in NetLogo stimulates a classic example of natural selection that involves the changes of colors in the peppered moth population of Manchester, England during the 1800s. One important aspect of this model is the plot feature which graphs the number of light, medium, and dark color moths, and the pollution rate over a period of time. While the monitor widgets can also track these information at real time, the plot allows us to view past information that were collected, not just the current data. Another interesting thing about the plot is that it works by using several pen update commands which execute the global variables (light, medium, dark color moths, and population) that were already created in the code section... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The setup and go button would help prepare the world with the specific amount of moths, and run the stimulation respectively. The mutation slider would control the mutation rate of the moths changing color. A lower mutation rate establish a correlation between the color of the parent moth and the color of the offspring, whereas a high mutation rate like 100% represent that the color of the parent moth and the offspring do not necessary have to be related. Moreover, the selection slider determine the survivability of the moths when it encounter the birds that feed on them. At 0 percent, the ever moth have an equal chance of being devoured, while at 100, the ability of the moth to camouflage is very important. The pollute and clean up buttons also control the pollution levels in the environment, much like the cycle pollution? switch, though they allow you to manually manipulate the pollution levels of the environment in a deliberate way. The speed slider would control the rate at which the pollution level will change, with 1 being the slowest and 100 being the fastest. Lastly, the monitors would document either the total amount of moths, the number of moths for each three types of color, the pollution rate, or the time as shown by the number of ... Punk Rock Is Bullshit Summary To understand the point that John Roderick is trying to convey in Punk Rock is Bullshit: How a toxic social movement poisoned our culture, we don t actually have to read the full paper. This is because he emphasizes his point and opinion about punk rock right in the title. Rather than trying to understand his point, I want to clarify that his opinion on this matter is not the only opinion, as indicated by the paper following it, A few thoughts on That Punk Rock Is Bullshit Essay, by Ally Schweitzer. I can understand where Roderick is coming from, since all he is doing is putting his perspective forward and we all have the right to do so. • 46. Nettle Research Paper Nettle is a broad leafed plant that causes a hive like rash and burning (urticaria) after being touched. The rash is caused by hairs on the leaves of the nettle plant. When you brush past the plant, these tiny hairs break off on your skin and release formic acid into your skin. This also causes histamine to be released by cells in the skin. Both of these chemicals are irritating to the skin. Both chemicals contribute to the rash. The rash is from a buildup of fluid in the skin. In severe cases, this may be followed by swelling in other parts of the body as well. If swelling occurs around the eyes, lips, tongue, larynx, or hands it is called angioneurotic edema.
