The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is based in the United States and is run by the
government. The banking Act of 1933, als known as the Glass Steagall Act, led to its establishment
due to the Great Depression that had been experienced in United States. This act came into play due to
the Great Depression. During this time, people were withdrawing their money from the banks and
keeping it at home. People were not feeling very confident about the banking system. So, President
Franklin Roosevelt had to step in and do something. The day after President Roosevelt s inauguration,
he declared a four day banking holiday that shut down the banking system, which included the Federal
Reserve. Several days later, the Emergency Banking

Weapons Are An Important Aspect Of Warfare
Weapons are an important aspect of warfare. They help determine how the war will go. If one side as
better and more technologically advanced weapons, they have an advantage over their opponents.
Nations struggle to create innovated weapons or improve old upon ones. Not every advancement is
appreciated and respected. An example of this type of weapon is the chemical weapons, gas or
chemical warfare. Chemical warfare is not an accepted or approved weapon, but one that has been
banned from use during war. Chemical weapons have been prohibited from warfare before the Great
War due to the effect it has on the soldiers and reactions from the civilians and soldiers. Why after
World War I are they universally prohibited? Chemical warfare was ... Show more content on

It was also this destruction and death that caused nations to later agree to the prohibition of chemical
weapons and warfare. Germany used chemicals as a weapon usually in the form of poisonous gas as it
was a more technologically advanced weapon then their enemies had. When the Germans first used
this weapon it was met with little resistance, therefore, proving that with more advanced weapons,
soldiers could accomplish their missions and goals both more accurately and faster or simply making
their mission more attainable. While using this weapon, the Germans were not stopped, simply as
there was no one to stop them from taking the trenches as their enemies lay dead on the ground in
what resembles a gruesome death. During the Second Battle of Ypres, the Germans used chemical
weapons for the first time and after a half hour; everything was dead with only the Germans to claim
the French trench. This weapon made it possible for the Germans to capture trenches and accomplish
their missions. During the war, the reactions to chemical warfare were increasingly negative from both
soldiers and civilians. The negative reactions and responses to chemical weapons are reasonable and
understandable. Soldiers held negative views on chemical warfare as they had to personally deal with
the attacks, while the civilians and citizens at home also had difficulty responding to chemical warfare
with anything but a negative response. The citizens at home had

Manual on Forensic Accounting
FORENSIC ACCOUNTING
Introduction
Necessity is the mother of all inventions. Yes, it is the growing arena of business and surging number
of white collar crimes that have paved the way for the development of Forensic Accounting.
According to AICPA, Forensic Accounting is the application of accounting principles, theories and
discipline to facts or hypothesis at issues in a legal dispute and encompasses every branch of
accounting knowledge.
According to The Accountant s Handbook on Fraud and Commercial Crime, Forensic Accounting is
the application of financial skills and an investigative mentality to unresolved issues, conducted within
the context of the rules of evidence.

It is a relative thing, that is where fraud and forensic crossed each other s path.
Fraud doesn t necessarily end up in court, but forensic accountant has to make evidence suitable for
admission in court. It is a stereotype thing, as long as auditors are concerned, audit report is supposed
to be a mere true and fair view of an account, but when if you are to prove or disprove an allegation of
fraud, there must be a forensic accounting investigation and report. It might have been tampered with,
ours is not to determine whether the suspect is guilty or not, but to give a better interpretation to the
evidences. It impacts on the financial sector of the economy.
There are lots of procedures in forensic that you cannot violate like that chain of command, you have
to know how the evidences were taken and preserved to avoid cases of tampering with evidence in our
court.
One major weapon accountants have is the use of questions or the interview technique in conducting
auditing jobs; there is no way you can start working without questioning, that is the most critical thing,
but not many accountants know its utmost usage, in forensic, we call this embedded incompetence.
What actually determines the success of the forensic report is the interview technique.
Forensic Accounting ensures:

Kevin Plank Under Armour Essay
Under Armour
1. Under Armour was founded in 1995 by Kevin Plank. Kevin played football at the University of
Maryland and noticed how often he and he s teammates had to change their undershirts because of all
of the sweat they absorbed. The sweat the shirts absorbed made the shirts much heavier and more
uncomfortable. He then noticed that the compressions shorts he was wearing were not nearing as
heavy and didn t absorb the sweat the shirt did. This one simple observation kick started his
experimentation to develop a t shirt for athletes. He experimented with different fabrics in his
grandmothers basements until he thought he created the perfect shirt. He sent the shirts to friends that
played in the NFL. After receiving feedback, he perfected the design and made his first deal with
Georgia Tech, from there the company took off. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Spanking Persuasive Speech
Growing up as an abused child, the word spanking represents fear in my mind. My mother beat my
sister and I with thick wooden paddles that would leave huge welt marks and splinters in our skin. My
mother considered this spanking. She was also known to slap us in the face with these paddles. My
sister and I, not wanting to be hit by these things anymore, destroyed them. This did not stop my
mother, she continued to hit us with belts or whatever object she could find. I disclose this personal
information not for one to feel sorry for me, but for one to understand that I am completely against
hitting a child with an object other than your hand. For no reason should an object ever be used to
discipline a child. If you have tried all other forms of discipline; redirecting, time ... Show more

I do think that children from the age of a year and a half up till preadolescents should get spanked in
certain circumstances. A spanking is often required when a small child is testing boundaries and
pushing every button they can push. A child who is deliberately hurting an animal or another person
could use a spanking. A preadolescent who is mouthy and disobedient may also deserve to be spanked.
I feel its okay to slap a small child on their hands to tell them no, but not an older child. I don t think
spanking a child should ever leave marks on their body. A parent should only use spanking as a
discipline and not do it when they are angry. When a parent is angry they are more aggressive and
leave marks. A child should never fear their parents, they should understand that they are being
spanked as a form of discipline and guidance. After a spanking a child should always know their
parents love them and are not hurting them they are directing them to better

Economies Of Scale Essay
5.6 Economies of scale
Economies of scale are a Micro economics concept. Economies of scale give a cost benefit to an
organization that produces goods in a very large scale. The cost per unit decreases as the production/
sales increases. This is because a firm may incur certain fixed cost which when apportioned to large
units volume decreases the unit cost of a product. The Table below better illustrates the concept.
Let s take an example of cool drink manufacturer.

Role of economies of scale in business strategy and competitive advantage:
One of the main sources for a firm to attain cost leadership advantage is through economies of scale.
There are many chances for a manufacturing unit to bring down its cost through large scale
production. Cost can be reduced through maximum utilization of the plant, machinery and
warehouses. Standardized products can be manufactured in large scale to bring down the cost of a
product. Usually when a firm enters in large scale production they cut down on the variations to the
models and concentrates on standardizing the product and marketing it across the globe.
A firm gets significant advantage through economies of scale when it has multinational operations.
The firm can set up its manufacturing units in low cost center and distribute its products across its
market. Though the market for the company s products can be worldwide, all the products can be
manufactured in one or fewer units in the places where the company has maximum of location
advantage and distributed across the

Pros And Cons Of Plant Reproduction System
1.0 Plant Reproduction System
Plant reproduction is the process of reproducing a certain species of plant continuing its existence. A
plant is made up of organs and cells that help it reproduce sexually or asexually. Both reproduction
methods having its advantages and disadvantages. 1.1 Plant Reproductive System Organs
The reproduction system for plants consists of the anther, stigma and ovule. The image by Hans
Lambers (2016) shows that pollen is created through the stamen (anther (which is held up by a
filament). The pollen is then moved through wind, water or animal to the stigma of the plant part of
the pistil where the pollen germinates (The Parts of a Flower, n.d.). Which is then moved down the
pollen tube (inside the style) where it reaches the ovary and fertilizes the ovule and reproduce. 1.2
Plant Reproductive System Cells
Plant reproduction consists of two cells. The pollen grains contains male gametophytes (the male sex
cell) which is created through the process of meiosis (sex cell multiplying). On the other hand, the
ovule, which is held within the ovary, contains female gametophytes (the female sex cell) which is
also created through the process of meiosis.
2.0 Animal Reproductive System
Animal reproduction, like plant reproduction, is the process of creating a being with similar genes to
the parent animal to continue its race. An animal reproductive system is made up of cells and organs

major requires me to take classes that have greatly enhanced my analytical and interpretation skills. In
many International Studies classes, the are many instances where you are simply presented with
information and asked to interpret what this information means and how it will affect the future. In
addition, since most of my classes have many required readings, I also have refined my skills with
time management and scheduling in order to complete all of my tasks. Furthermore, through my

Scenario Between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie, And Patice
Scenario Explained
The scenario between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie and Doris is a classic issue of offer and acceptance.
These are two elements of a valid contract. The scenario also raises its potential of being an invitation
to treat as this is a stark contrast to that of an offer. That is, we must consider whether the notice
placed on the car constitutes a valid offer or if it was a mere invitation to treat. If this notice does
amount to a valid offer where Arnold outlines the terms and conditions (the price at which he was
willing to sell and his telephone number) by which he is willing to be legally bound we must look at
the possible issues that may arise and what possible steps Arnold can take to deal with his situation.
Arnold appears to be the principal party who makes definite terms pertaining to the sale of his car,
from this we can conclude that the notice placed on his cars does in fact demonstrate a clear intent to
be legally bound. This is a unilateral offer where Arnold outlined the terms and condition to which he
is willing to be legally bound, he is inviting the public to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Feminism in Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel Essay
Feminism in Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel
There are many different definitions of feminism. Some people regard feminism as the idea that
women deserve the same amount of respect that men deserve. There are the other schools of feminist
thought that hold women superior to men. Yet another believes that the gender roles controlling
women are artificially created and not innate knowledge, and thus men and women are equals with
only history the determining factor and how gender equality is established. There are clear feminist
overtones in Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. Esquivel pointes to a more radical
definition of feminism in Like Water for Chocolate. The story focuses on mostly female characters

Mama Elena goes on, for better or worse, attempting the best she can to raise a family in the
tumultuous time of the Mexican revolution. She struggles against her rebellious daughter in her own
attempt to keep her family s heritage and traditions alive. Not only does she raise a family but she also
runs the ranch on which the live and on derive their sustenance. Early on in the novel we see that
Esquivel presents a character that deserves the same amount of respect normally giving to a male
character in this same role. By placing this normally male role in a woman Esquivel questions the
typical role of the woman in a home of just raising children by bestowing additional responsibilities.
We see elsewhere in the novel the strength in Gertrudis, Tita s sister. Gertrudis escapes the ranch after
reacting mysteriously to one of Tita s recipes. She runs away with a rebel soldier, works in a brothel at
the Mexico Texas border, and eventually returns to the ranch as a general in the revolutionary army.
Here we witness the creation of a second strong female character. When we first see Gertrudis we see
just another female character. But after her return we find that she has become a leader of in the
revolution. Again Esquivel takes a potion that is typically male associated and fills that role with and
equally respectable female character.
There is then the focal character, Tita. Tita is the pivotal character in defining Like Water for

Chain Store Case Study
Four elements must exist to prove there is a valid contract between the chain store and Sam Stevens.
These four elements include the agreement, consideration, contractual capacity and legal object. The
first element of the agreement would be deemed to exist if one person makes an offer and the other
party accepts that offer. In this case, Sam did verbally agreed to send the 1,000 units to the chain store;
that element does count toward a contract. The second element of the consideration would be deemed
to exist if each party gets something in exchange for their promise under a contract. If Sam and the

A person who is considered to have a mental or physical defect cannot enter into a legally binding

void the contract, not the adult who entered into the contract. When a minor shows intent to rescind a
contract by either words or action, the whole contract is voided. If a person is emancipated, they have
legal control of themselves and can enter into a contract. In this case, Sam is of age to sign a contract

Essay on United States Government and Federalism
Over the last two centuries the United States has grappled with the idea of federalism. While former
President James Madison had a very concrete understanding of that form of governance, In the
compound republic of America, the power surrendered by the people is first divided between two
distinct governments, and then portion allotted to each subdivided among distinct and separate
departments (Madison, 1788, p. 67), the United States has never had a conclusive division of power
between the state and the US Federal Governments. Instead of definitive spheres of governance as
Madison envisioned, over the years the US Federal Government has played an increasingly important

This case established the precedent that the United States Federal Government could dictate the
countries monetary policies. More importantly, during this period the supremacy of federal law over
state law was established with the Nullification Crisis of 1832. The ensuing conflict established the
precedent that the states did not have the right to judge the constitutionality of acts of Congress. It was
not until the American Civil War and the resulting defeat of the Confederate States of America that the
supremacy of the US Federal Government in legislative and economic matters was established.
Between the conclusion of the American Civil War and the election of President Franklin D.
Roosevelt, the United States entered a period of definitive dual federalism. During this period
fundamental governmental powers were shared between the federal and state governments, with the
states exercising the most important powers (Lowi Ginsberg Shepsle Ansolabehere, 2010, p. 73).
While the US Federal Government left a majority of the decision making up to the states, unlike
before the Civil War, the supremacy of the Federal Government was no longer in question. Although
the government did establish various national standards during this period, it did little to enforce
compliance on the state level. For example, little was done to enforce the implementation of the 15th

That is an amazingly large amount of beer for one company to sell. This also tells us that the hope is
not nearly lost for craft brewers. If all of the 1,950 craft brewers produced only ½ million barrels of
beer each year, they could easily cripple the large beer manufacturers with an influx of 975 million
barrels of beer flooding the marketplace. But, the vast majority of craft brewers would never want to
do that.
The Craft Beer Way
The craft brewers in the United States and around the world have a completely different take on what
it means to brew beer. Dogfish Head craft beer was said to only have .0002% of the market share of
beer sales in the United States. According to brewersassociation.org, Dogfish Head craft beer ranked
12th in the nation in 2011, based upon the number of sales for a craft brewery. That is truly amazing,
how a company ranked 12th in the whole country in craft beer sales still only has .0002% of the total
market share of the beer industry. However, the owner of the company said that he would never want
to grow like the large beer companies have. He is more concerned about each and every bottle of beer
being the best beer possible, rather than worrying too much about how many cases he is able to send
out the door. As a whole, craft beer makers try to capture their piece of the market through
differentiation of their products and not through advertising like the large beer companies. Craft beer

marginal abatement costs (MAC) represents the country specific cost to offset carbon. With Rreq
being the required amount of carbon reduction and R the actual carbon reduction, Germany has
reduced already more carbon than required (R* Rreq), whereas Sweden has not reached its cap (R*
Rreq). Hence, Germany can sell their gains (Δ 1 2 3) with a profit in the market, because their
marginal abatement costs are lower than the market price (P). Sweden, on the contrary, has not yet
reached their reduction target and therefore has to reduce emissions further. Now, Sweden can either
reduce emissions internally at their MAC price above the actual market price, or initiate a so called
Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project outside of Sweden at a lower MAC price. By doing
so, they actually realize cost savings which can be considered as a commercial benefit (Wikipedia).

Intermediaries or negotiators are more involved with the aspects of the supply chain. There can be

Estrogen dominance results from a lack of progesterone in the body. The effects include increased
body fat, decreased libido, increased risk of breast cancer and endometrial cancer, and infertility.

What treatments are safe and effective for the symptoms of menopause? Conventional treatments

Natural progesterone is a recently discovered treatment that relieves the symptoms of menopause
without any harmful side effects.(Lee, 1991)
Natural Progesterone
The body s source of hormonal progesterone is the corpus luteum, where it is produced after ovulation

Integrating Technology Into The Classroom Essay
Introduction
Technology has turned the world into a global village and altered teaching and learning. It brings
about change in the classroom. Integrating technology into the classroom has gained much ground in
countries across the world. The concept of technology integration is now viewed as an important tool
to teaching and has gained the interest of many researchers who investigated effective of assimilating
technology into the curriculum (quote). According to Almekhafi Almeqdadi (2010), the ability to have
a global learning environment with appropriate technology is the one of the main goals for integrating
technology into the classroom. Technology is cost effective and it is still a major challenge for many
countries today. Due to this many educators are still not integrating technology into the curriculum
(quote). This paper will examine the research questions, hypotheses, research design, sampling and
data collection for this study.

Kierkegaard Research Paper
Kierkegaard on Human Self Kierkegaard points out human being to be spirit. He further clarifies that
this spirit is encompassed in the self. He further elucidates that the self is the relationship that relates
itself to itself. This means that this relating itself to itself is what defines self. This relationship that
relates itself to the self must have been established by itself or something else within the boundaries of
the self. The relation he further notes is the third term that has established the entire relation. Human
self is thus the relation that relates to itself and in relating to itself relates to something else. This self
is what defines personality or individuality. We have self because of the consciousness we humans
have of ourselves. According to Kierkegaard, we can only relate to this self if we are aware of
ourselves and have the capacity to relate to self consciousness. This self, according to Kierkegaard, is
what make us go for selection and making choices. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

My Trip At The Airport
It was a Sunday evening when my parents told us we were going on a trip. My younger brother
Charlie and I were so excited since we ve never been out of the country before. We would be gone for
only a week so I had to fit in as much as possible, I wanted to see all the history and culture this small
country offered. I did all my research on it before we left and I even taught myself common terms.
The day we left was a day I will never forget; I remember sitting at the airport shaking my leg like
crazy because I was so eager to go. Flying there felt like forever but, the moment I saw the prodigious
green mountains, I was astonished. The second I stepped outside the airport, I felt the crisp, cool air

After being very indecisive, we knew what to do. We wanted to take the Golden circle. It s basically a
route in South Iceland covering some of the major landmarks. The next day we woke up pretty early
so we could accomplish the whole route by the end of the day. The first place we headed for was the
geyser in Haukadalur. It didn t take that long to get there, it was actually very beautiful on the way. It
was all open land and mountains. The Geyser was incredible. It was a huge piece of brown land, like
mud, with a giant hole in the middle. The hole was filled with water that boiled for about 10 minutes
and then erupted through the ground at nearly 40 m high. After we stood there watching it erupt
probably 3 times, we decided to go to our next stop: Þingvelli National park. It was one of the most
breathtaking places I d ever seen. There were huge black rock formations with slightly green grass
covering certain areas. Small streams ran through the whole thing. We hiked through a lot of it before
we went to the Gullfoss Waterfall. It wasn t like any other waterfall. It was a waterfall on top of
another waterfall. It stretched out far and you could see the glistening of a rainbow form on top of it.

Least effective Super Bowl Ad GoDaddy Bodybuilder
This was my least favorite as well as effective commercial for me from this year s Super Bowl ads. It
starts off with a bunch of body builders running led by Danica Patrick, the race car driver who s
wearing a black and neon green top and shorts muscle suit running towards a spray tan salon. She
knocks on the window of the salon and the ad ends with the punch line, it s go time.
First of all the commercial was too short, I thought it was teaser and it felt like an incomplete ad. Didn
t really understand the ad and had to watch it repeatedly to understand what the advertiser were trying
to say. Basically, the ad ends with owner of the spray salon saying, it s go time, while spraying a little
orange puff of tanning solution. This commercial is targeting smart small business owners and the
goal of this ad is to increase awareness for GoDaddy s web hosting services.
I hosted the Super Bowl party this year and most my friends thought it was the lamest ad they have
seen in years. This ad was the least effective because it wasn t entertaining, I personally don t like
seeing women with bulked muscles (gross) even though it was the famous racecar driver Danica
Patrick, and more importantly it wasn t noteworthy. It was too depressing, even with the celebrity
filled commercial it couldn t do it. I think for the amount ($$) paid, GoDaddy, could

Sex In Simone De Beauvoir
The French feminist Simone de Beauvoir famously declared one is not born but rather becomes a
woman . Beauvoir s thesis distinguishes the two categories sex and gender and suggests that while
sexuality may be natural and physical, gender is a social construct inculcated through cultural
conditioning. Sex is understood as something unalterable, constant, associated with the anatomy
whereas gender is the cultural meaning and the form that is ascribed to the body. Despite the fact that
gender and sex are distinct from each other unequal power play and sexual politics continues to be
important between different gender roles. Beauvoir is also of the view that the prime category of
human thought is relation between self and the other. Society ... Show more content on

Personal Reflection Of The Pain Management On 2B
I have been taken care of 4 patients towards the end of my time on 2B. I think I handled it well. It can
be challenging sometimes. For example, I had to discharge one patient by 10am. And the staff meeting
for my newly admitted patient was around the same time. Besides, one of my patients approached me
to have PRNs, the forth patient also requested a shave. On 2B, shaving has to be supervised by staff.
All my patients needed me at once. I learned to ask help from other RNs and delegate appropriate
tasks to NA in order to get things done on time. Sometimes, we don t have enough help. I had to
prioritize my tasks and patients needs. Of course, I offer my help to my fellow RNs when they re busy.
I had completed blood draws for others many times (11).
The pain management on 2B is quite different. (7) This is because many of the common non
pharmacological interventions are considered unsafe due to the high suicide risk in our patient
population. There is no heat or cold pad due to the toxic chemical contents. K pad is also not available
due to the long tubings for risk of strangulation. Aromatherapy is also out of picture. I often feel
limited when my patients ask me for pain interventions as there are not as many options available as in
other units. Fortunately, there are organized group activities offered by OT daily on 2B. They mainly
focus on relaxation, meditation, and mindfulness practices. I encourage my patients to participate in
those groups, and practice those

Quotes Doesn T Always Mean A Thousand Different People
The special thing about quotes is that they don t always mean the same thing to different people. I
believe quotes could mean a thousand different things to a thousand different people. Therefore, what
this means is that what a quote means to myself may mean something completely different than what
anyone else thinks. Also, if you read a quote at different stages of your life, it could mean something
absolutely opposite of what it once meant to you. For example, if you read a quote in your teenage
years and then read it again when you were in your forty s, more than likely this would have a
completely different meaning to you than what it once did.

This story is set in Camelot 528 A.D. beginning on nineteenth of June (17). The setting is important

Also people dressed much differently.
This story is in limited first person. This is important because it only shows the story from the

North Ridge And The Southeast Ridge
According to mountaineer and notable author Mark Jenkins, The two standard routes, the Northeast
ridge and the Southeast ridge are not only dangerously crowded, but also disgustingly polluted, with
garbage leaking out the glaciers and pyramids of human excrement befouling the high camps
(Abrams). One of the issues with the popularity of Everest is pollution. With all the adoration
surrounding Everest and the first summit in 1953. Pollution on Everest is overlooked, and climbers are
not always helping the cause, the problems climbers run into while making the trek leads to pollution
as well. Referring to Professor Pablo Figueroa, he believes that there seems to be a growing
awareness, but a problem with the implementation of coordinated, long term sustainability policies
may collide with the private interests of expeditions, tour operators and individual climbers
(Figueroa). Therefore the Nepalese government, the climbers, and the Sherpas most come an
understanding to help with pollution. Does economic growth get in the way? What is being done to
stop pollution on Everest? Is it enough? Some believe that the mountain is being cleaned up well and
that pollution is not a problem amongst the great mountain. Jonathan Chester a professional

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Spectroscopy
It has been the main topic of this thesis to establish the link between state of the art theoretical tools
and typical spectroscopies in order to contribute to the understanding of complex many body
compounds. The synergy between theory and experiment was given a special attention. The main
spectroscopy studied theoretically by the works in this thesis is photoemission and its variants. In
particular, we worked out the effects of correlations in many body systems as manifested in
spectroscopic quantities.
In our works [E1] and [E2], the coupling of the electronic degrees of freedom the photoelectron
properties, in particular to the nuclear motion was studied in depth. The novel aspects hereby were

The advantages of the NEGF formalism and the underlying powerful machinery of the MBPT inspired
us to develop the formal NEGF theory of photoemission further with our work [E3]. We elucidated the
connection of the formal concepts of the FPA to the standard MBPT, allowing for a practical
implementation of the theory. The main advances were achieved by the extension of the theoretical
description of DPE, which we advocate as a very useful sensor for the many facets of correlations in
many body systems. The effective electron electron interaction in more complex systems comprises,
besides the Coulomb repulsion, fluctuation mediated effects due to the dynamical environment. As an
important example, we focused on dynamical screening mediated by charge density fluctuations. We
have chosen the buckminster fullerene as a concrete system for its pronounced plasmon resonances
and generally rich physics. In our work [E4] we rigorously categorised the collective modes, based on
full fledged ab initio calculations, with the help of the NMF. The obtained model for DD response
function whose accuracy is corroborated by comparing to EELS data was then employed to
characterise the dynamically screened interaction in the C60 molecule. With these tools at hand, we
were able to elucidate the role of electronic correlations mediated by the density oscillations in DPE in
our joint theoretical and experimental work [E5]. The distinct feature of the experiment the significant
narrowing of the coincidence spectrum is in agreement with our ab initio description and so endorses
the plasmon assisted DPE due to as a novel aspect of releasing two correlated electrons from complex

about China is it s ability to resemble the inventions of the West and Japan and then come up with

Thanks to China s enormous population of 1.3 billion people, there is never shortage of labor. In fact

Bookstore Cafe Ethnographic Observation Essay
TITLE: OBSERVATION AT A POPULAR BOOKSTORE CAFÉ Over the past few years, commercial
spaces have become areas for multifunction activities. Along with the availability of gourmet coffee,
food, ample seating, and free WIFI bookstore cafes have welcomed a clientele that blends leisure,
social and work related activities. In this context, a local popular Barnes and Noble bookstore cafe
served as the perfect environment to perform a field observation for this assignment and to explore
customer behaviors and reasons for patronizing this particular establishment. Nestled in a busy

Patrons like myself stood in line scanning the café for empty tables and available seats. The
arrangement of the tables in this area allowed for more seating flexibility and appeared to lower social
boundaries between customers while encouraging interaction between members of cliques and
individual patrons. Armed with my laptop and cappuccino, my observations occurred from an empty
table in the center of the café. I felt at ease in this setting, as there were many more customers like
myself, sitting alone reading, typing away on their laptops, writing in yellow pads or studying. Being
in plain sight in a public environment, I assumed the role of a participant observer despite feeling a
little unsure about the landscape of this assignment and insecure about my field note taking
capabilities. As I settled in, I spotted a few neighboring customers who were about to get comfortable
in their seats. A young man sitting nearby with his laptop cover still closed, stated, I come here quite
often. WIFI is free, the service is great, I plug my earphones and in an hour I get a lot more work done
here than at home with the kids . Another regular customer stated, This is where people come in
between shopping, or like myself to get some work done after running some errands . When I asked a
few customers about policies regarding reading printed material without purchasing them, and if there
were any time limits for occupying the tables, I learned about a

How Robots Have Impacted Life
Robots are a computer machines that are designed to perform many physical tasks either domestic or
industrial. Robots have severely and positively impacted life and are intended to positively impact
future life. They make it really easy to accomplish tasks and save humans from doing the most
difficult tasks. They have developed to the point where they have revolted against people and are
advancing to take over the world by taking over humans and preventing humans from completing
undesired tasks. They are considered to be more flexible and more adaptable than other automated
systems. This technology is advancing over years and robots are now able to perform many tasks more
quickly, cheaply and accurately than humans. There were many domestic solutions of the use of
robotics in the past when the microwave was invented. In today s present society robotics has created
an automated vacuum cleaner which is an iRobot called Roomba. The use of robotics is emerging
throughout society and is intended to make industrial solutions such as robots used for working and
construction in the future
In history of robotics, an invention was the microwave. This is considered as a domestic robot
machine because of its incorporated features. The microwave consists of many control devices that
allows microwave operators to input their desired amount of time and the food, the microwave then
processes the food so it results in the temperature of heat as desired by the operator. The microwave

The Immigration Problem Of Immigration
Since the 1970 s, the distinction between criminal law and immigration law has become increasingly
blurred. In many jurisdictions around the world, undocumented immigration was long considered a
civil offence in which violation resulted in fines and deportation. Now, however, illegal crossings are
often treated as criminal violations carrying overly punitive consequences such as incarceration in
harsh detention centers. The ever evolving assortment of laws and enforcement measures concerning
immigration, as well as negative rhetoric in politics and media, has resulted in migrants being ascribed
the stigma of criminal , alien or terrorist . This paper will explore the criminalization of immigration
phenomenon broadly by detailing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, our social reality is influenced by the state constructed definition of what is crime which
often reflects the values of the upper class (Persak, 2016). For example, the trend seen in many cities
in the United States of criminalizing homelessness through so called get tough policies reflects the
upper classes desire for public health and safety, protection of economic interests in business districts
and the maintenance of city aesthetic. Although, these policies do not address the causes of
homelessness rather they exacerbate the problem and violate the liberties and human rights of citizens
(Foscarinis, Cunningham Bowers Brown, 1999). Criminalization is perhaps the most repressive and
intrusive applications of state power on a citizen and is often implemented, as is the case with the
homeless, to target the less desirable social groups (Persak, 2016). Moreover, while formal
criminalization in the form of legislation and criminal consequences for infringement works as a
social control, it is not the only form of criminalization that occurs. Informal criminalization may in
some cases be a more effective form of social control and ultimately lead to formal criminalization of
behavior or come as a result of formal legislation. As stated by Hauptman (2013), informal social
control measures are any social influences on compliance not

The Outsiders Book Report
Many books are a portal to a new dimension. Many people read books for fun and some read them to
escape reality. As people say we should get lost in a book, the best thing is to expand the mind from a
new point of view. S.E Hinston has wrote many books. One popular book written by him is The
Outsiders. This novels is telling us a story about the character Ponyboy Curtis and his harsh struggles
trying the gamble between the gang life and his struggles with right and wrong in a society. He
considers himself as an outsider within his family, friends, and even his community. He battles with
many horrible fights and gang violence each and everyday. The story shows an important idea that

Gipoli And The Anzac Myth
Australia was founded on the notion of Terra Nullius meaning no man s land by British settlers thus,
with Australia being quite a new country, there isn t much history that it may hold onto and to a great
extent it doesn not have a national identity except for the ANZAC myth. To begin to understand why it
is that the ANZAC myth continues to resonate in Australia so strongly one must understand its
foundations. Australia in 1915 was a fairly new country, it became a federation on the 1st of January
1901. Its population was approximately 5 million and was still a part of the Commonwealth. Australia
held the image that it was a nation filled with individuals who lived in a working class society. World

Assessing The Internal Audit Function
Assessing the Internal Audit Function
Auditing standards are published by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). As
such, the PCAOB published Auditing Standard Number 5 (AS 5), which recommends integrating an
audit of intern controls with the audit of a firm s financial statements (PCAOBUS, 2007). An auditor s
objectives of the internal controls audit and that of the financial statements are not identical, and the
auditor must perform the audits to achieve both objectives.
Internal Audit Objectivity Auditors of a firm s financial statements, be they external or internal
auditors, have the primary objective of providing users of said financial statements with an opinion on
the fairness of reported information to engender the confidence of said users (AICPA, 2012). As such,
auditors must adhere to requirements set forth by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Among such requirements; objectivity is
essential in performing audit duties be they external or internal audit functions. Moreover, in assessing
internal controls and risks to the organization, internal auditors must also conduct themselves with
objectivity and independence (Tušek Pokrovac, 2012). Whereas external auditors are independent of
the firm, internal auditors face more scrutiny of their objectivity as they are employed directly by the
firm of which they audit. Therefore, more important than independence is objectivity to

Technology in Classrooms Essay
To help improve academics at Jackson High School, the district should provide more technology in
the classrooms. We should get iPads in every classroom that we have. We should also be able to use
our cell phones. Technology has increased over the years and our school district should be up to date
on its tools. There are several reasons for why we should get these devices in our classrooms. One of
the materials that we should get at our school is iPad s. It would help us become more organized with
all of our subjects. A freshman at a high school in Michigan said, It s helped us become more
organized. We re not losing papers. It s all in our iPad. (Smith). Students should be able to bring their
own devices to school. It would help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A media specialist named John Schumacher from Oak Brook, Illinois says that there are advantages of
using cell phones in the classroom these days. He said he has his students look up QR codes and
barcodes that are readable on phones (Staff). Students and teachers should be able to use social
networking sites. For example, they could be rewarded and get on it in their free time or they could
use it for school purposes. Our school should be able to trust us enough to be mature about what
websites we get on. In high school we should already know right from wrong. Although, there should
be a discipline plan for students who do break the rules. Learning how to use these tools appropriately
is growing up and it being a part of life (Davis). Therefore, if a student breaks a rule using one of the
devices he or she should be the only one that gets punished. Every student in the high school should
not be punished just because one person did something that was not appropriate. However, all students
including teachers should have to fill out an AUP form. If someone breaks any of the rules they all
they have to do is see where they agreed not to and take away their privileges. The last reason why we
should have iPads and cell phone devices in our classrooms is because the 21st century is all about
technology. In addition, the founder of Intel said that The technologies we know

In the World of Warcraft unit, my group has chosen to be the Draenei race. This race is an extremely
tall class, standing at an astonishing eight feet tall. The female version of the Draenei character is
around 7 ½ feet tall. The Draenei race is an octopus human hybrid type race, with plenty of classes to
use in the actual game. They have long tails and hooves, according to the World of Warcraft Wiki
page. They also have fangs. Their skin color is mainly blue, and their blood is also blue.
According to the World of Warcraft Official Beginner s Guide, the Draenei race has quite the
intriguing story. Draenei are devoted to magic. They are intelligent and spiritual, who have fled two
planets, Argus and then Outland. They have an evil threat after them as well; the Burning Legion. This

Comparison Of Thomas Malthus And Garret Hardin Cycle Of...
Poverty is the discrepancy between the powers of reproduction and the ability to expand food
production. People are poor because there are too many of them, and they keep having children in
spite of their poverty. Poverty exists because of overpopulation. Providing relief to the poor will
simply encourage them to have more children. Poverty is an economic issue, and eliminating poverty
will not only benefit the individual, but will benefit the entire country. Both Thomas Malthus and
Garret Hardin proved poverty is the fault of the individual and therefore it is their responsibility to
eliminate it. Wealthy nations are not responsible for eliminating poverty among the poorer nations. To
begin, poverty goes hand in hand with overpopulation. Poor people choose to continue to reproduce
which ultimately leads to them continuing the cycle of poverty. The poor people are to blame for their
poverty and it is their job to reduce population and eliminate poverty. Malthus proves that poverty will
always be with us because of population increase. Poverty is the result of the poor people, who lack
moral standards, and refuse to change their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The population continues to increase geometrically while subsistence only increases arithmetically
(Malthus 325). The poor people start having families at a young age and continue to reproduce.
Essentially this leads to overpopulation, which in the long run leads to us occupying all of the land and
running out. This makes it harder for people in poverty to find work because so many people are
looking for jobs. Labor prices then cost less, but because of the lack of food the price for it goes up.
This ultimately leads to the poor people having to work more and harder to make money. Once they
make money, and are able to buy food and provide for their family, they believe they are well off
which leads to them reproducing and the poverty cycle starting all over again (Malthus

Rhetorical Analysis Of Ronald Reagan s Boys Of Pointe...
Ronald Reagan s Fortieth Anniversary of D Day Speech became known as the Boys of Pointe Du Hoc
Speech written by Peggy Noonan. The speech was delivered on June 6, 1984 in Normandy, France:
the site where the Allied forces invaded the cliffs just forty years before Reagan had delivered this
memorable speech (Stepman). The forum itself was an important aspect of the speech. The delivery of
the speech there, on the windy shore cliffs of northern France, enhanced the visualization as well as
the nostalgia for the Veteran audience as a backdrop for some of the many examples Reagan had used
in his speech. The purpose of this speech was to not only commemorate the American Ranger
Veterans for their valiant efforts in taking this Nazi stronghold, but to also address the world, and the
Soviets, that conquest and tyranny will not stand in the way of peace and liberty. Through the use of
effective rhetorical devices, Ronald Reagan encompassed his theme that there is something worth
fighting for when someone uses force for conquest rather than the use of force for liberation (12).
With his examples of the brave soldiers forty years before, he discussed how their efforts back then
affected the world at the time. One of the most important rhetorical devices that Reagan used was
exemplum. Throughout the speech, Reagan gave many examples of what the soldiers had done. He
described their courage, difficulties, struggles, loyalty, bravery, risk, passion, and sacrifice, with the

When the Germans first used this weapon it was met with little resistance, therefore, proving that with more advanced weapons, soldiers could accomplish their missions and goals both more accurately and faster or simply making their mission more attainable. While using this weapon, the Germans were not stopped, simply as there was no one to stop them from taking the trenches as their enemies lay dead on the ground in what resembles a gruesome death. During the Second Battle of Ypres, the Germans used chemical weapons for the first time and after a half hour; everything was dead with only the Germans to claim the French trench. This weapon made it possible for the Germans to capture trenches and accomplish their missions. During the war, the reactions to chemical warfare were increasingly negative from both soldiers and civilians. These are two elements of a valid contract. The scenario also raises its potential of being an invitation to treat as this is a stark contrast to that of an offer. That is, we must consider whether the notice placed on the car constitutes a valid offer or if it was a mere invitation to treat. If this notice does amount to a valid offer where Arnold outlines the terms and conditions (the price at which he was willing to sell and his telephone number) by which he is willing to be legally bound we must look at the possible issues that may arise and what possible steps Arnold can take to deal with his situation. Arnold appears to be the principal party who makes definite terms pertaining to the sale of his car, from this we can conclude that the notice placed on his cars does in fact demonstrate a clear intent to be legally bound. • 26. Kierkegaard Research Paper Kierkegaard on Human Self Kierkegaard points out human being to be spirit. He further clarifies that this spirit is encompassed in the self. He further elucidates that the self is the relationship that relates itself to itself. This means that this relating itself to itself is what defines self. This relationship that relates itself to the self must have been established by itself or something else within the boundaries of the self. The relation he further notes is the third term that has established the entire relation. Human self is thus the relation that relates to itself and in relating to itself relates to something else. This self is what defines personality or individuality. We have self because of the consciousness we humans have of ourselves. According to Kierkegaard, we can only relate to this self if we are aware of ourselves and have the capacity to relate to self consciousness. North Ridge And The Southeast Ridge According to mountaineer and notable author Mark Jenkins, The two standard routes, the Northeast ridge and the Southeast ridge are not only dangerously crowded, but also disgustingly polluted, with garbage leaking out the glaciers and pyramids of human excrement befouling the high camps (Abrams). One of the issues with the popularity of Everest is pollution. With all the adoration surrounding Everest and the first summit in 1953. In particular, we worked out the effects of correlations in many body systems as manifested in spectroscopic quantities. The advantages of the NEGF formalism and the underlying powerful machinery of the MBPT inspired us to develop the formal NEGF theory of photoemission further with our work [E3]. We elucidated the connection of the formal concepts of the FPA to the standard MBPT, allowing for a practical implementation of the theory. The main advances were achieved by the extension of the theoretical description of DPE, which we advocate as a very useful sensor for the many facets of correlations in many body systems. The effective electron electron interaction in more complex systems comprises, besides the Coulomb repulsion, fluctuation mediated effects due to the dynamical environment. As an important example, we focused on dynamical screening mediated by charge density fluctuations. We have chosen the buckminster fullerene as a concrete system for its pronounced plasmon resonances and generally rich physics. In our work [E4] we rigorously categorised the collective modes, based on full fledged ab initio calculations, with the help of the NMF. The obtained model for DD response function whose accuracy is corroborated by comparing to EELS data was then employed to characterise the dynamically screened interaction in the C60 molecule. With these tools at hand, we were able to elucidate the role of electronic correlations mediated by the density oscillations in DPE in our joint theoretical and experimental work [E5]. The distinct feature of the experiment the significant narrowing of the coincidence spectrum is in agreement with our ab initio description and so endorses the plasmon assisted DPE due to as a novel aspect of releasing two correlated electrons from complex ... For example, the trend seen in many cities in the United States of criminalizing homelessness through so called get tough policies reflects the upper classes desire for public health and safety, protection of economic interests in business districts and the maintenance of city aesthetic. Although, these policies do not address the causes of homelessness rather they exacerbate the problem and violate the liberties and human rights of citizens (Foscarinis, Cunningham Bowers Brown, 1999). Criminalization is perhaps the most repressive and intrusive applications of state power on a citizen and is often implemented, as is the case with the homeless, to target the less desirable social groups (Persak, 2016). Moreover, while formal criminalization in the form of legislation and criminal consequences for infringement works as a social control, it is not the only form of criminalization that occurs. Informal criminalization may in some cases be a more effective form of social control and ultimately lead to formal criminalization of behavior or come as a result of formal legislation. As stated by Hauptman (2013), informal social control measures are any social influences on compliance not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Assessing The Internal Audit Function Assessing the Internal Audit Function Auditing standards are published by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). As such, the PCAOB published Auditing Standard Number 5 (AS 5), which recommends integrating an audit of intern controls with the audit of a firm s financial statements (PCAOBUS, 2007). An auditor s objectives of the internal controls audit and that of the financial statements are not identical, and the auditor must perform the audits to achieve both objectives. Internal Audit Objectivity Auditors of a firm s financial statements, be they external or internal auditors, have the primary objective of providing users of said financial statements with an opinion on the fairness of reported information to engender the confidence of said users (AICPA, 2012). As such, auditors must adhere to requirements set forth by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Among such requirements; objectivity is essential in performing audit duties be they external or internal audit functions. Moreover, in assessing internal controls and risks to the organization, internal auditors must also conduct themselves with objectivity and independence (Tušek Pokrovac, 2012). Whereas external auditors are independent of the firm, internal auditors face more scrutiny of their objectivity as they are employed directly by the firm of which they audit. Therefore, more important than independence is objectivity to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We should get iPads in every classroom that we have. We should also be able to use our cell phones. Technology has increased over the years and our school district should be up to date on its tools. It would help us become more organized with all of our subjects. A freshman at a high school in Michigan said, It s helped us become more organized. We re not losing papers. It s all in our iPad. A media specialist named John Schumacher from Oak Brook, Illinois says that there are advantages of using cell phones in the classroom these days. He said he has his students look up QR codes and barcodes that are readable on phones (Staff). Students and teachers should be able to use social networking sites. For example, they could be rewarded and get on it in their free time or they could use it for school purposes. Our school should be able to trust us enough to be mature about what websites we get on. In high school we should already know right from wrong. Although, there should be a discipline plan for students who do break the rules. Learning how to use these tools appropriately is growing up and it being a part of life (Davis). Therefore, if a student breaks a rule using one of the devices he or she should be the only one that gets punished. Every student in the high school should not be punished just because one person did something that was not appropriate. However, all students including teachers should have to fill out an AUP form. If someone breaks any of the rules they all they have to do is see where they agreed not to and take away their privileges. The last reason why we should have iPads and cell phone devices in our classrooms is because the 21st century is all about technology. • 48. Comparison Of Thomas Malthus And Garret Hardin Cycle Of... Poverty is the discrepancy between the powers of reproduction and the ability to expand food production. People are poor because there are too many of them, and they keep having children in spite of their poverty. Poverty exists because of overpopulation. Providing relief to the poor will simply encourage them to have more children. Poverty is an economic issue, and eliminating poverty will not only benefit the individual, but will benefit the entire country. Both Thomas Malthus and Garret Hardin proved poverty is the fault of the individual and therefore it is their responsibility to eliminate it. Wealthy nations are not responsible for eliminating poverty among the poorer nations. To begin, poverty goes hand in hand with overpopulation. Poor people choose to continue to reproduce which ultimately leads to them continuing the cycle of poverty. The poor people are to blame for their poverty and it is their job to reduce population and eliminate poverty. Malthus proves that poverty will always be with us because of population increase. The population continues to increase geometrically while subsistence only increases arithmetically (Malthus 325). The poor people start having families at a young age and continue to reproduce. Essentially this leads to overpopulation, which in the long run leads to us occupying all of the land and running out. This makes it harder for people in poverty to find work because so many people are looking for jobs. Labor prices then cost less, but because of the lack of food the price for it goes up. This ultimately leads to the poor people having to work more and harder to make money. Once they make money, and are able to buy food and provide for their family, they believe they are well off which leads to them reproducing and the poverty cycle starting all over again (Malthus ... • 49. Rhetorical Analysis Of Ronald Reagan s Boys Of Pointe... Ronald Reagan s Fortieth Anniversary of D Day Speech became known as the Boys of Pointe Du Hoc Speech written by Peggy Noonan. The speech was delivered on June 6, 1984 in Normandy, France: the site where the Allied forces invaded the cliffs just forty years before Reagan had delivered this memorable speech (Stepman). The forum itself was an important aspect of the speech. The delivery of the speech there, on the windy shore cliffs of northern France, enhanced the visualization as well as the nostalgia for the Veteran audience as a backdrop for some of the many examples Reagan had used in his speech. The purpose of this speech was to not only commemorate the American Ranger Veterans for their valiant efforts in taking this Nazi stronghold, but to also address the world, and the Soviets, that conquest and tyranny will not stand in the way of peace and liberty. Through the use of effective rhetorical devices, Ronald Reagan encompassed his theme that there is something worth fighting for when someone uses force for conquest rather than the use of force for liberation (12). With his examples of the brave soldiers forty years before, he discussed how their efforts back then affected the world at the time. One of the most important rhetorical devices that Reagan used was exemplum. Throughout the speech, Reagan gave many examples of what the soldiers had done. He described their courage, difficulties, struggles, loyalty, bravery, risk, passion, and sacrifice, with the scene ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
