Romantic Era Research Paper
Mawuli Bossiade Research Paper Music Appreciation The Romantic era was an intellectual and
artistic movement that started in Europe just before the end of the 18th century. That era was at his
peak at 1800 to 1840. It was a reaction for the age of enlightenment, which was from England. The
romantic era had an impact on music, arts and literature (Boundless). Furthermore, it had a major
impact on history, education and politics. During the romantic era, a lot of great composers emerged
like the German composer Felix Mendelssohn. He was born on February 3,1809, in Hamburg,
Germany. He was born into a wealthy Jewish family. He was the son of Abraham Mendelssohn and
Lea Salomon. He was the grandson of Moses Mendelssohn, which was a Great German Jewish
Enlightenment philosopher. He was the second of four children. His parent discovered his music talent

Individuality was accepted. During the romantic period, the social life evolved. Education was
improved because the churches started educating poor children. The way of living started changed.
Range and Gas fire started to be available to people so people could have heat when it is cold. With
the industrial revolution, people began to work in factories. If you were a skill worker, you get paid
sometimes for holiday. Factories started hiring women. In the medical field, there were a lot of
improvements like in surgery after the anesthetic was discovered. Also there was the discovery of
Louis Pasteur, which was to sterilize liquid. (robert) The political landscape was changing because

Tragedy In Romeo And Juliet
When Romeo and Juliet, teenagers of rivaling families, fall in love with each other on a mysterious
night, they have to hide their relationship from everyone they know or there d be terrible
consequences. In William Shakespeare s play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet
meet a depressing fate as they both end up committing suicide over what started as a rumor. Both
Romeo s and Juliet s personalities play crucial roles in their ultimate destiny. Romeo seems to be very
impulsive because he acts without getting a chance to think about his actions. After Mercutio, Romeo
s close friend, is slain in a duel by Tybalt, Juliet s cousin, Romeo gets insanely angered and goes on to
kill Tybalt in a vicious fashion. He says Enough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At times, she can be extremely impatient, dependant and also really hasty. When the nurse went to go
talk to Romeo about him marrying Juliet, Juliet was being really impatient and cursing at the nurse
because she didn t come home yet. The quote I sent the Nurse at nine o clock. Maybe she can t find
him. That can t be. Oh, she s slow! Love s messengers should be thoughts, which fly ten times faster
than sunbeams. exhibits this quality in Juliet. In this line, you can see her making a problematic
situation from nothing and this trait really impacts their ultimate fate. For example, when she
discovered she was to be married to Paris, if she could ve waited for Romeo to come to Verona, the
whole double suicide could ve been avoided. When Juliet discovered that her father made
arrangements to marry her to Paris, she directly goes to Friar Lawrence for advice, rather than
thinking about it herself. Don t tell me that you ve heard about this marriage, Friar, unless you can tell
me how to prevent it. If you who are so wise can t help, please be kind enough to call my solution
wise. (she shows him a knife) . This quote proves that Juliet is not mature enough to make her own
choices, and this reflects on her final decisions because she just killed herself without thinking about
the consequences. Last but not least, Juliet s impulsive behavior can be seen when she commits
suicide

The Fashion Choices People Make Should Not Define Who They...
The fashion choices people make should not define who they are. People should be judged based on
their actions and not by their fashion choices. Passing judgement based on looks can hurt others and
cause issues in society. Some people are required to dress in a certain fashion, but that does not
determine whether they are good or bad. I chose this argument topic because it involves my major in
fashion and also an issue for which I can relate. The study of fashion and sociology can relate in some
ways, therefore, this would be an interesting argumentative research topic.
The first key point that I can use in my essay would be that children, especially teenagers, are judge by
their peers based on their fashion choices. This claim supports my argument by showing that teenagers
that are judged harshly, often feel forced to dress a certain way to be accepted. The second key point
that I can use is that people of different cultures are expected to behave a certain way or have certain
beliefs based on their attire. This key point supports my argument to show that stereotyping people
based in their culture can cause result in issues within society. The last key point that I can use is that
fashion choices express how someone feels and not how they are. Someone s style of fashion can
change at any time or frequency, depending on how he or she feels at certain times, or in a specific
situation.
The audience that will be reading my essay will be my instructor or anyone else that is

Defining Financial Terms and Role in Finance Essay
Running Head: DEFINING FINANCIAL TERMS AND ROLE IN FINANCE
Defining Financial Terms and Role in Finance

FIN 370/ Finance for Business

Defining Financial Terms and Role in Finance The following paragraphs contain financial terms and
their role in finance. The terms are finance, efficient market, primary market, secondary market, risk,
security, stock, bond, capital, debt, yield, rate of return, return on investment, and cash flow. The
fourteen terms all have an important relationship in the world of business. The first term is finance.
Finance is managing money or supplying funds to provide a resource. A bank or loan company is a
source of finance because they both provide cash. Cash is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The price is more or less than the issue price of the original company. The fifth term is risk. Risk is the
uncertainty or chance of a difference in the actual return earned on investment and the expected return
earned on the investment. There are three types of risk: market, credit, and operational. The company
return on an investment depends on which risk the company took. For example, people and companies
take risk sometimes when they make a financial investment or provide equipment and supplies for an
opportunity to receive a high return on their investment. The role of finance for a risk is the
uncertainty if they will receive payment for their investment. The higher the risk means the higher the
return. The lower the risk means the lower the return.
The next three terms have a correlation. The terms are security, stock, and bond. Security in finance is
the relationship and representation of stocks and bonds. Some securities are interest and dividend
based. Common and preferred stock, bonds, notes, debenture, and option are some examples of
securities. A stock represents ownership in a business, has face value, and may not carry a maturity
date. A stock s role in finance is as follows. Common stock has no fixed rate of dividend and has
voting rights. Preferred stock has a fixed rate of dividend and no voting rights and preferred are the
two types of stock. A bond is the last term of correlation. A bond is a fixed income security. A

The Marshmallow Test
In the 1960 s, Walter Mischel and colleagues researched delaying gratification in children. The
development of the simply designed marshmallow test yielded a better understanding of delaying
gratification in children. The success of the marshmallow test generated a greater interest in
understanding human self control and fellow researchers continued to examine delaying gratification
and self control. B.J Casey, PhD, of Weill Cornell Medical College, Mischel, Yuichi Shoda, PhD, of
the University of Washington, and colleagues further examine Mischel s earlier research. This
continuation of the experiment and advances in medical research allowed for Casey et al. to examine
the neurological basis of gratification in adults. This research allows for a better understand in how a
child s ability to delay gratification can effect them across their lifespan. However, social environment
factors also contribute to difference in self control and ability to delay gratification. In the experiment,
Mischel and his colleagues individually tested preschoolers ability to delay gratification using the
marshmallow test. The child would be given a plate of treats, such as marshmallows, and told the
researcher had to leave for a few minutes. But, before the researcher left the child was given two
options: they could wait for the researcher to return and be rewarded with two marshmallows or once
the researcher left they could ring a bell and the researcher would immediately return, except the

How my knowledge, understanding and skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT impacts on my practice.
In this assignment, I am going to describe how my knowledge and understanding and skills in
Literacy, Numeracy and ICT help and impacts on my teaching assistant role at my school.
All teachers and their assistants are required to have the literacy, numeracy and ICT knowledge,
understanding and personal skills. This will equip us to develop inclusive approaches to addressing the
literacy, numeracy and ICT needs of our pupils.
I believe I know how to find information from books and know how to use the Internet efficiently to

I also support lower ability group in their phonics lesson, I prepare daily activities for this sessions and
provide progress report to the teacher on weekly basis. I play games with the children, use visual
strategies and revise with them all the time to extend their phonics basics.
I also do weekly spelling tests in groups and keep records of their progress in spelling area of Literacy.
I regards to Numeracy sessions, again they often run similarly to Literacy lessons, where I get to
prepare appropriate maths resources and organize the group work or work with certain individuals. I
often need to repeat teacher s instructions to re enforce what pupils should be able to achieve and
maybe introduce follow on tasks to extend learning of the more able pupils. I feel, I still have a lot to
learn in Numeracy department, partly due to the fact that I was not educated in the UK and the
strategies for some mathematical activities are solved very differently here that I would had been used
to. Luckily in Year 1 I can catch up fairly quickly and I am learning along side our children.
I can pick right resources for their activities like number lines, numbers squares, counter and on.
I am fairly confident computer user and I use it in every day activities or planning time. Our children
use ICT suite facilities on weekly basis and I have found that my

Technology in Life
In the past people have difficult life because of many things and technology is one of them .As we

project I will talk about the future of technology in Oman and how it will be effective .
when we talk about technology ,that means we human are talking about something that made the life

The Rise Of Wilsons Tax Reform
Tax reforms started in 1916 when the Wilson administration decided to cooperate with a group of
insurgent democrats on war time financing, which was majorly progressive taxation. This was
important because it led to attacking the wealthy, special privilege, and public corruption. The
administration embraced this taxation as means to achieve social justice. Another major element to
Wilsons administration was redistributional taxation. This helped drive between socialism and
unmediated capitalism. The major debate at the time was over the question, What stake does society
have in corporate profits? The debates outcome created soak the rich income taxation. Wilson signed
the Revenue Act of 1916. This was the first tax on personal incomes.

The City Of Sacramento, The State Capital Of California
The city of Sacramento, the state capital of California, is confronted with the need to take action to
manage current water consumption trends with respect to climate change, an increase in population,
and an increase in business. Residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural demand for water are
rising during the recent period of drought that triggered the notion of conservation efforts statewide
and the potential for water supply shortage is extremely high. This is a plan to respond to the crisis by
changing the way the city manages its water supply by enacting new structured fees for business and
residential water consumption tiers and furnishing an educational program designed to familiarize
consumers with the enforcement of a new tiered fee structure. The proposal is written in response the
state s 20x2020 plan that dictates universal water reduction with the intention of reaching a fixed 20%
of overall water consumption reduction by the end of the decade, and the CALGreen building code
that regulates the implementation of water saving technology in new and existing construction.
Climate change impact on the state of California over recent decades has generated many
environmental fluctuations with the most critical to the city of Sacramento being air temperature
increase. Over the next few decades, the local temperature may rise as much as 2° C, badly taxing the
environment to new extremes and possibly resulting in unmet demand substantial increase in water

Michael, confessing their inability to comprehend the awe inspiring works of God.In the Christian
tradition, archangels are angels of the highest rank and are associated with certain functions or
responsibilities. In Prologue in Heaven, they personify the cosmos:

· The days of evil the Old Peasant mentions refer to the plague. In the 14th century, when the plague

Revelations in the Bible writes: they that do [the Lord s] commandments ... may enter in through the

The Globalization Of The Cocoa Industry In The Mayan Economy
Globalization is a predominant term in global politics today, but it is a more complex issue than some
may perceive it to be. While it has enabled a remarkably integrated global political landscape and fast
tracked the international economy, these new global networks also exposed the full extent of economic
and power imbalances between states. Powerful western states and corporations have used global
integration to exploit states that are rich in highly sought after resources, but not strong or secure
enough to protect these resources from external actors. The worldwide cocoa industry has expanded
profoundly since its emergence in Mesoamerican culture in the 15th century, and this industry has
become a microcosm of western dominance in the global economy. The exploitation of Latin
American and African countries at the hands of western corporate enterprises is an ongoing trend in
cocoa production; however, hope rests in corporate social responsibility and the fair trade movement
to dramatically alter the global production network of cocoa going forward.
Cocoa has an illustrious history which initially began with the Mayans around 500 BCE in
Mesoamerica, the region that would later make up Mexico and some surrounding nations (Kermani
2006). With no access to external sweeteners like sugar, the cocoa of this era had a bitter taste which
differs greatly from what is recognized as chocolate today. Since Mayan civilization did not possess
the resources to create a solid, edible

How to Write Case Study
http://www.cpcug.org/user/houser/advancedwebdesign/Tips_on_Writing_the_Case_Study.html
HOW TO WRITE A CASE STUDY by Charles Warner
There are two types of case studies: (1) factual ones depicting real organizations, people, and
situations and (2) fictional ones that, although usually based loosely on actual people and events, do
not use real organization s or people s names.
The advantages of factual case studies are that they can provide a wealth of detail, give credibility to
situations and problems, and, most important, provide real outcomes. Actual results give those who
analyze a case real world solutions: How did the organization or manager solve the problems? Did the
solutions work?
Although factual cases furnish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often the best teaching cases are those that contain both appropriate and inappropriate problem
solutions. By using this technique, writers do not signal to readers that all the solutions are either right
or wrong case analysts have to figure it out for themselves.
The next step is to select or create situations that give readers a clear delineation of the problems and
point the way to a discussion about possible solutions. The most effective way to depict a problem is
to write situations or scenes that have conflict in them: scenes in which the characters have opposite
points of view, disagreements, or different solutions. Each situation or scene in a case study should
either: (1) carry the narrative forward, (2) relate directly to one of the major problems in the case, or
(3) provide insight into the personality and motives of one or more of the characters. The ideal
situation is one that the writer knows will elicit conflicting opinions about potential solutions.

Advantages And Disadvantages To Traditional Database...
Advantages of Database Management System:
The DBMS has a number of advantages as compared to traditional computer file processing approach.
The DBA must keep in mind these benefits or capabilities during designing databases, coordinating
and monitoring the DBMS.
The major advantages of DBMS are described below.
1. Controlling Data Redundancy:
In non database systems (traditional computer file processing), each application program has its own
files. In this case, the duplicated copies of the same data are created at many places. In DBMS, all the
data of an organization is integrated into a single database. The data is recorded at only one place in
the database and it is not duplicated. For example, the dean s faculty file and the faculty payroll file
contain several items that are identical. When they are converted into database, the data is ... Show

between them. You can easily change the structure of database without modifying the application

system, the structure of data items are built into the individual application programs. Thus the data is
dependent on the data file and vice versa.
15. Advanced Capabilities:
DBMS also provides advance capabilities for online access and reporting of data through Internet.
Today, most of the database systems are online. The database technology is used in conjunction with
Internet technology to access data on the web servers.
Disadvantages of Database Management System (DBMS):

Clinical Support System Analysis
1. A Clinical Support System is a system that aids physicians and clinical staff in finding the right
course of action for patient care. The system recommends the action and also explains why that route
was chosen for that specific patient. An example of a clinical support system is one that assists with
the retrieval of scientific medical information as well as takes into consideration the particular clinical
context. The system does not perform the clinical decision making but it provides relevant
information, analyses and recommendations about the specific patient, this helps the healthcare
provider make an educated decision about the care that needs to be provided. Clinical support systems
can also allow for patient specific alerts, situation specific alerts, and assist physicians with order sets
to facilitate decision making which enhance the effectiveness and quality of care.
2. The critical difference between a clinical decision support system and a personal health record is
that the two differ greatly in the degree to which they interpret data and recommend patient specific
action (Cimino Shortliffe, 2014, p.190). A clinical decision support system are clinical systems that
allow clinicians to consult expert knowledge for the diagnosis and treatment planning of the patient.

These amounts of tax savings should be added to the incremental cost savings for each year to come
up with the total cash inflows. The present value of all these cash inflows and outflows can be
calculated by discounting them at 12.19%. This rate is calculated by assuming that the purchasing
power parity holds in this scenario. The company can do the feasibility analysis by looking at both
from the subsidiary s and parent s perspective by assuming that the purchasing power parity holds.
Hence, this rate can be regarded as opportunity cost of investment because it is the second best
alternative for the company for investment purposes. So, the NPV can be calculated by taking the sum
of present values of all the cash flows. This NPV comes out to be 3,703,176 Pesos. This NPV value
can be converted into Euros by dividing the NPV value by the spot exchange rate. The spot exchange
rate is 15.99 MXN/EURO. Hence, by dividing 3,703,176 by 15.99, NPV value in terms of Euro comes

How Does Human Geography Overlap
How do the worlds of human geography and physical geography overlap? Johnson Xu G9 As all we
know we have two part of geography: human geography and physical geography overlap. But do they
have overlapping time. The answer is yes, and also physical geography will effect about the human
geography or the human geography will effect about the physical energy. How funny it is! I think
physical geography will affect people s language, the world outlook and the religious view. For
example , in my hometown, we faith as many as dozens of gods. That is because my hometown
usually has some strong typhoon weather. The ancient science and technology is not developed . The
fisher and seaman can not accurately predict the weather, so they often died or disappeared on the sea

Health Care And Affordable Care Act
In 2010, Congress enacted the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in order to increase the
number of Americans covered by health insurance and decrease the cost of health care (Supreme
Court Opinion, 1). In America, it is a basic necessity to possess health care, logically, Congress would
like to make such a necessity more accessible to Americans. Due to a divided government, there are
variant views on whether this is necessary and just. Health care benefits all Americans; it is just a
matter of if the policy of a required national health care is beneficial. Under the Affordable Care Act,
the scope of the Medicaid program was expanded and the number of individuals the States must cover

their residents. Each state is different, and so are their residents. Simply enforcing a standard cookie
cutter health plan forces States to ignore their previous needs, and budgetary challenges; Each state
should be able to develop solutions that meet its specific needs (Robert E. Moffit, Ph. D). Not only do
states desire their unique health care for themselves, but for their citizens as well. Although the ACA is
arguably for the public good, only a certain class desires such a health care, not every citizen. Yet, if
citizens refuse this health care, a penalty is imposed. The payment is not so high that there is really no
choice but to buy health insurance; the payment is not limited to willful violations, as penalties for
unlawful acts often are; and the payment is collected solely by the IRS through the normal means of
taxation . (Supreme Court Opinion) Yet, a payment can be major for those who: do not have the means
to pay for it, and disagree with the health care plan. Also, the new law adds a number of health care
services that insurers must cover and in some cases restricts the ability of insurers and employer self
insured health plans to impose limits on the amount of services patients can consume. This
combination will drive up health plan costs and premiums for both individual insurance and employer
group coverage (Edmund F. Haislmaier). Yet,

Fipronil Overpopulation
Microbial population may be affected by many factors, including environmental changes and pollution
by xenobiotic chemicals. In short term experiments pesticides may stimulate, inhibit or have no effect
on microbial numbers (Lo, 2010). The effect of pesticides on the soil microbial population may
stimulate or reduced depending upon the application rate or dose of the pesticide and type of pesticide
used (Sebimo et. al., 2011). According to Kalia and Gosal (2011) the application or extensive use of
pesticides has led to a rapid decline in the quality of organic matter in soil it also affects the diversity

Adam By Louise Erdrich Analysis
In the essay Adam, written by Louise Erdrich, she opens up about her relationship with her adopted
son Adam, who was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and her feelings on women who drink
while pregnant. Adam came into Ms. Erdrich s life when she met her future husband, Michael Dorris,
whom had adopted Adam years before. Though, she never intended to be the mother of a child with
physical and mental disorders, she developed a special relationship with her son that came with trials
and errors, but also patience and love. It was through the trying times with Adam that Ms. Erdrich
resents his biological mother the most. His birth mother took from Adam a life of free thinking and the
will to be normal person, but how can the message be spread to help women with this disease abstain
from self harming the innocent lives they are carrying? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

line be drawn to either help women with alcoholism refrain from drinking while pregnant, or punish
those who just don t care when it comes to their unborn? Should society make laws and imprison a
woman for harming her unborn child, but who is to say while jailed she won t drink. Alcohol and
drugs pass through prisons easily in these days and if desperate enough a pregnant woman could get
her hands on alcohol. The thought of sterilization, as another form of punishment does seem
inhumane, though it would be doubtful to help the woman with her alcoholism it does save an
innocent life unnecessary

Alexander II And Alexander The Great
A tactician is defined as someone who is good at planning tactics; Philip II and Alexander the Great
would not fall under this name because they were not good at planning tactics, they were disputed to
be the best at planning them. Alexander III the Great was born in 356 BC in the capital of Macedonia;
Pella. Growing up Alexander watched his father turn Macedonia into a great military power . Philip II
was the first to create an unstoppable Macedonian army and his son Alexander would further expand
the efficiency and power of such army. In the spring of 336 BC a Macedonian noble named Pausanias
assassinated Philip II . With Philip s death came many new changes to the empires known at that time.
Alexander III as Philip s only successor became king at the age of twenty and Philip s dream of
conquering the Persian Empire was now on the shoulders of Alexander . This would be the driving
force for the fall of the Persian Empire and the huge expansion of the Macedonian Empire. Within 13
years Alexander created the largest empire of his time; this was done by, being a military genius that
used lateral thinking to defeat often larger and superior forces, a disciplined army created by his father
Philip II and the spread of increased trade routes along with the acceptance of Greek civilization and
ideas.
Philip II ascended the throne in what was one of the most difficult times of Macedonia. As King,
Philips first steps were to reorganize the Macedonian army. Diodorus lists Philip s

The article discusses the idea that deliberate practice in a domain increases the chances of becoming
an expert in the field. It provides a significant amount of factual knowledge that comes from fellow
researchers and studies over a period of time to provide information in proving the theoretical
frameworks presented in the article. The article talks about the factors necessary for achieving and
surpassing maximal performance. Also analyzing the ways in which the number of hours and years

experienced people in a field can significantly increase their performances through deliberate efforts
when further improvements were required promotions or rewards. ... Show more content on

It then contrasts deliberate practice with activities that tend to occur more frequently in various
domains. The authors then propose a theoretical framework that can explain how expert performance
can be attained through deliberate practice. The minimum consistent time of practice required for the
domains like music, mathematics, tennis, swimming, and long distance running is the 10 year rule or
the 10,000 hours rule . This article is significantly better in expanding my knowledge about the 10,000

Citizens view all levels of government in the country as corrupt and lazy yet many still believe that the
government is the best option for making things better. Since 1994, the country has basically been a
one part country ruled by the African National Congress (ANC). They have had a two thirds majority
since the creation of the new constitution and has used that power many times to alter the constitution.
The ANC is considered to be pretty far left on their platform and policies. They believe in living
wages, a very strong social safety net, and guarantee living quarters. The political scene has been
shaking up recently, the ANC has been losing significant votes in major cities and other political
parties are now gaining traction within the political sphere. The legal oversight of the country is mix.

Symbols In Dogville
As Dogville begins, it is clear that the film is unlike any other. The initial scene opens to a bird s eye
view of a mining town in the 1930 s. Right away, the film demonstrates a break from the idea of
realism, and displays the minimalistic and expressionistic approach that mirrors the viewing of a live
play. The town itself is very small, and each building or home in Dogville is displayed by a chalk
outline, with the descriptor of each building inside. Inside each dwelling is housed only essential
pieces of furniture, that serve the plot and characters during the film (Von Trier). Dogville is filmed
and set more along the lines of a play than a film, and follows many structures, theorists, characters

western culture. It criticizes the way in which America views everyone as individuals, instead of a
community of many, and as such, that individuals are responsible for their own happiness and success,
or lack thereof. It displays the absurdity, to an extreme, of how individual ideals and desires can
contribute to the hindering of compassion and understanding by the whole of a community. (Von

Theory Of Mind
The theory of mind is a concept that is multidimensional and multidirectional. There are many
definitions that exist, but there are some of the key aspects that can be used to create a definition. The
theory of mind can be defined as an ability to acknowledge and understand your own personal beliefs,
knowledge, ideas, perspectives and various mental states such as emotions and levels of
consciousness. A person will use their theory of mind to then apply and understand these aspects that
apply to you and your thoughts are different from other people s, and can thus lead to a sense of
empathy and understanding. A lack of theory of mind can create social tension and exclusion if it is
not applied well enough for an individual to engage in cultural ... Show more content on

During the time that studies had been conducted, several opinions and qualities of the theory of mind
had arisen. Since the concept is so broad, there is not one universal definition that can apply to this
theory, so it has to be clarified by the researcher each time an experiment is conducted. I believe that
there is a substantial amount of evidence on the theory of mind from various global locations. This
evidence could be enough to support my claim that theory of mind is universally applied. The
variations of age when theory of mind develops and how that correlates to a person s culture, is a topic
that has not been researched yet. Researchers, like Ridinger and McBride (2015), claim that there are
extrinsic and therefore cultural values, monetary rewards in their study, that motivate and stimulate
people s theory of mind applications. I disagree and believe there are intrinsic values that are shaped
by environmental influences that cause this. In order to support this conclusion, I would need an
additional source of information. This source would need to be an empirical article that studied
different samples of people from multiple countries. This study would also need to separate out the
participants by age and gender. These categories would help to create comparisons with the results.
The results could help to support or reject my idea that cultural and environmental influences create a
distinction on an individual s theory of mind

Predator-Prey Theory
Evolutionary Theory on Predators and Prey Evolutionary psychologists believe that the human mind is
a blank slate, that is, people retain what they learn from the information or knowledge they learn from
the environment or through some other external forces (Tooby Cosmides, 2005). One example of a
learning which is attained through observation and in depth study of the environment is the
evolutionary theory on predators and prey. A predator is understood to be an organism which naturally
eats another organism (Yam, 2011). On the other hand, the prey is the organism which the predator
eats (Yam, 2011). The environment gives us the idea that the predator and prey both evolve together.
This means that the prey is considered to be a part of

The clinical presentation of patients with IST can vary due to the diversity of its multiple symptoms
including: intermittent palpitations, dyspnea, dizziness, lightheadedness, pre syncope, syncope, chest
pain, myalgia, and fatigue. [12] Associated psychological and emotional problems can also be seen,
but no relationship with IST has been identified. [8]
Using a criteria of a resting heart rate 100 bpm and an average heart rate of 90 bpm on 24 hour Holter
monitoring, Still et al., estimated the prevalence of IST in a middle aged population of men and
women. The IST prevalence was 1.2% (7 of 604 patients) [2], including both symptomatic and
asymptomatic patients. IST has also been reported in older population. [5] Although, IST is believed
to be a chronic condition, long term complications are few. IST has been associated with tachycardia
induced cardiomyopathy in isolated cases [6][7] and no mortality has been yet reported.
IST is a medical entity that should be diagnosed by exclusion, medical history and physical
examination and should be assessed thoroughly, aiming to the potential causes of sinus tachycardia,
thus, thyroid disease, medications, hypovolemia, panic attacks, anxiety and substance abuse should be
ruled out. A 12 lead EKG is useful for recording tachycardia and defining sinus rhythm, which helps

What Is Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs
Theory One of the many interesting things Maslow noticed while he worked with monkeys early in
his career, was that some needs take precedence over others. For example, if you are hungry and
thirsty, you will tend to try to take care of the thirst first. After all, you can do without food for weeks,
but you can only do without water for a couple of days! Thirst is a stronger need than hunger.
Likewise, if you are very very thirsty, but someone has put a choke hold on you and you can t breath,
which is more important? The need to breathe, of course. On the other hand, sex is less powerful than
any of these. Let s face it, you won t die if you don t get it! Maslow took this idea and created his now
famous hierarchy of needs. Beyond ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of the preceding four levels he calls deficit needs, or D needs. If you don t have enough of
something i.e. you have a deficit you feel the need. But if you get all you need, you feel nothing at all!
In other words, they cease to be motivating. As the old blues song goes, you don t miss your water till
your well runs dry! He also talks about these levels in terms of homeostasis. Homeostasis is the
principle by which your furnace thermostat operates: When it gets too cold, it switches the heat on;
When it gets too hot, it switches the heat off. In the same way, your body, when it lacks a certain
substance, develops a hunger for it; When it gets enough of it, then the hunger stops. Maslow simply
extends the homeostatic principle to needs, such as safety, belonging, and esteem, that we don t
ordinarily think of in these terms. Maslow sees all these needs as essentially survival needs. Even love
and esteem are needed for the maintenance of health. He says we all have these needs built in to us
genetically, like instincts. In fact, he calls them instinctoid instinct like needs. In terms of overall
development, we move through these levels a bit like stages. As newborns, our focus (if not our entire
set of needs) is on the physiological. Soon, we begin to recognize that we need to be safe. Soon after
that, we crave attention and affection. A bit later, we look for self esteem. Mind you, this is in

That era was at his peak at 1800 to 1840. It was a reaction for the age of enlightenment, which was from England. The romantic era had an impact on music, arts and literature (Boundless). Furthermore, it had a major impact on history, education and politics. During the romantic era, a lot of great composers emerged like the German composer Felix Mendelssohn. He was born on February 3,1809, in Hamburg, Germany. He was born into a wealthy Jewish family. He was the son of Abraham Mendelssohn and Lea Salomon. • 3. Tragedy In Romeo And Juliet When Romeo and Juliet, teenagers of rivaling families, fall in love with each other on a mysterious night, they have to hide their relationship from everyone they know or there d be terrible consequences. In William Shakespeare s play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet meet a depressing fate as they both end up committing suicide over what started as a rumor. Both Romeo s and Juliet s personalities play crucial roles in their ultimate destiny. Romeo seems to be very impulsive because he acts without getting a chance to think about his actions. After Mercutio, Romeo s close friend, is slain in a duel by Tybalt, Juliet s cousin, Romeo gets insanely angered and goes on to kill Tybalt in a vicious fashion. He says Enough ... When the nurse went to go talk to Romeo about him marrying Juliet, Juliet was being really impatient and cursing at the nurse because she didn t come home yet. The quote I sent the Nurse at nine o clock. Maybe she can t find him. That can t be. Oh, she s slow! Love s messengers should be thoughts, which fly ten times faster than sunbeams. exhibits this quality in Juliet. In this line, you can see her making a problematic situation from nothing and this trait really impacts their ultimate fate. For example, when she discovered she was to be married to Paris, if she could ve waited for Romeo to come to Verona, the whole double suicide could ve been avoided. When Juliet discovered that her father made arrangements to marry her to Paris, she directly goes to Friar Lawrence for advice, rather than thinking about it herself. Don t tell me that you ve heard about this marriage, Friar, unless you can tell me how to prevent it. If you who are so wise can t help, please be kind enough to call my solution wise. (she shows him a knife) . This quote proves that Juliet is not mature enough to make her own choices, and this reflects on her final decisions because she just killed herself without thinking about the consequences. • 4. The Fashion Choices People Make Should Not Define Who They... The fashion choices people make should not define who they are. People should be judged based on their actions and not by their fashion choices. Passing judgement based on looks can hurt others and cause issues in society. Some people are required to dress in a certain fashion, but that does not determine whether they are good or bad. I chose this argument topic because it involves my major in fashion and also an issue for which I can relate. The study of fashion and sociology can relate in some ways, therefore, this would be an interesting argumentative research topic. The first key point that I can use in my essay would be that children, especially teenagers, are judge by their peers based on their fashion choices. This claim supports my argument by showing that teenagers that are judged harshly, often feel forced to dress a certain way to be accepted. The second key point that I can use is that people of different cultures are expected to behave a certain way or have certain beliefs based on their attire. This key point supports my argument to show that stereotyping people based in their culture can cause result in issues within society. The last key point that I can use is that fashion choices express how someone feels and not how they are. Someone s style of fashion can change at any time or frequency, depending on how he or she feels at certain times, or in a specific situation. The audience that will be reading my essay will be my instructor or anyone else that is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The price is more or less than the issue price of the original company. The fifth term is risk. Risk is the uncertainty or chance of a difference in the actual return earned on investment and the expected return earned on the investment. There are three types of risk: market, credit, and operational. The company return on an investment depends on which risk the company took. For example, people and companies take risk sometimes when they make a financial investment or provide equipment and supplies for an opportunity to receive a high return on their investment. The role of finance for a risk is the uncertainty if they will receive payment for their investment. The higher the risk means the higher the return. The lower the risk means the lower the return. The next three terms have a correlation. The terms are security, stock, and bond. Security in finance is the relationship and representation of stocks and bonds. Some securities are interest and dividend based. Common and preferred stock, bonds, notes, debenture, and option are some examples of securities. A stock represents ownership in a business, has face value, and may not carry a maturity date. A stock s role in finance is as follows. Common stock has no fixed rate of dividend and has voting rights. Preferred stock has a fixed rate of dividend and no voting rights and preferred are the two types of stock. • 6. The Marshmallow Test In the 1960 s, Walter Mischel and colleagues researched delaying gratification in children. The development of the simply designed marshmallow test yielded a better understanding of delaying gratification in children. The success of the marshmallow test generated a greater interest in understanding human self control and fellow researchers continued to examine delaying gratification and self control. B.J Casey, PhD, of Weill Cornell Medical College, Mischel, Yuichi Shoda, PhD, of the University of Washington, and colleagues further examine Mischel s earlier research. This continuation of the experiment and advances in medical research allowed for Casey et al. to examine the neurological basis of gratification in adults. This research allows for a better understand in how a child s ability to delay gratification can effect them across their lifespan. However, social environment factors also contribute to difference in self control and ability to delay gratification. In the experiment, Mischel and his colleagues individually tested preschoolers ability to delay gratification using the marshmallow test. The child would be given a plate of treats, such as marshmallows, and told the researcher had to leave for a few minutes. But, before the researcher left the child was given two options: they could wait for the researcher to return and be rewarded with two marshmallows or once the researcher left they could ring a bell and the researcher would immediately return, except the ... • 11. The City Of Sacramento, The State Capital Of California The city of Sacramento, the state capital of California, is confronted with the need to take action to manage current water consumption trends with respect to climate change, an increase in population, and an increase in business. Residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural demand for water are rising during the recent period of drought that triggered the notion of conservation efforts statewide and the potential for water supply shortage is extremely high. This is a plan to respond to the crisis by changing the way the city manages its water supply by enacting new structured fees for business and residential water consumption tiers and furnishing an educational program designed to familiarize consumers with the enforcement of a new tiered fee structure. The proposal is written in response the state s 20x2020 plan that dictates universal water reduction with the intention of reaching a fixed 20% of overall water consumption reduction by the end of the decade, and the CALGreen building code that regulates the implementation of water saving technology in new and existing construction. Climate change impact on the state of California over recent decades has generated many environmental fluctuations with the most critical to the city of Sacramento being air temperature increase. Over the next few decades, the local temperature may rise as much as 2° C, badly taxing the environment to new extremes and possibly resulting in unmet demand substantial increase in water ... • 15. The Globalization Of The Cocoa Industry In The Mayan Economy Globalization is a predominant term in global politics today, but it is a more complex issue than some may perceive it to be. While it has enabled a remarkably integrated global political landscape and fast tracked the international economy, these new global networks also exposed the full extent of economic and power imbalances between states. Powerful western states and corporations have used global integration to exploit states that are rich in highly sought after resources, but not strong or secure enough to protect these resources from external actors. The worldwide cocoa industry has expanded profoundly since its emergence in Mesoamerican culture in the 15th century, and this industry has become a microcosm of western dominance in the global economy. The exploitation of Latin American and African countries at the hands of western corporate enterprises is an ongoing trend in cocoa production; however, hope rests in corporate social responsibility and the fair trade movement to dramatically alter the global production network of cocoa going forward. Cocoa has an illustrious history which initially began with the Mayans around 500 BCE in Mesoamerica, the region that would later make up Mexico and some surrounding nations (Kermani 2006). With no access to external sweeteners like sugar, the cocoa of this era had a bitter taste which differs greatly from what is recognized as chocolate today. The advantages of factual case studies are that they can provide a wealth of detail, give credibility to situations and problems, and, most important, provide real outcomes. The most effective way to depict a problem is to write situations or scenes that have conflict in them: scenes in which the characters have opposite points of view, disagreements, or different solutions. Each situation or scene in a case study should either: (1) carry the narrative forward, (2) relate directly to one of the major problems in the case, or (3) provide insight into the personality and motives of one or more of the characters. In this case, the duplicated copies of the same data are created at many places. In DBMS, all the data of an organization is integrated into a single database. • 18. Clinical Support System Analysis 1. A Clinical Support System is a system that aids physicians and clinical staff in finding the right course of action for patient care. The system recommends the action and also explains why that route was chosen for that specific patient. An example of a clinical support system is one that assists with the retrieval of scientific medical information as well as takes into consideration the particular clinical context. The system does not perform the clinical decision making but it provides relevant information, analyses and recommendations about the specific patient, this helps the healthcare provider make an educated decision about the care that needs to be provided. Clinical support systems can also allow for patient specific alerts, situation specific alerts, and assist physicians with order sets to facilitate decision making which enhance the effectiveness and quality of care. 2. The critical difference between a clinical decision support system and a personal health record is that the two differ greatly in the degree to which they interpret data and recommend patient specific action (Cimino Shortliffe, 2014, p.190).
