Self Assessment Paper
To verify the first indicator, a survey will be used. Surveys can gather large amounts of data, and can
be administered through mail, e mail, or face to face. As this survey is in the process of being
developed, it is essential that the survey undergoes testing to ensure the survey is measuring what it
needs to measure. A method that will be utilised will be a survey with a rating scale used as the tool to
measure service user satisfaction. The Likert scale is commonly used to measure a person s attitudes
or behaviours, using answer choice that ranges from one end to another (Kuma Tan et al. 2007, p. 550)
(appendix 1). A Likert scale survey can identify the different levels of the service user s opinions about
the staff s cultural competence (Mellor Moore 2014, p. 369). The survey will indicate the service user
s satisfaction, identify if further training is required, and improvements. ... Show more content on

This may indicate that the staff members have become more culturally competent, as service users
may feel understood and respected, thus encouraging more attendance of appointments. This raises the
issue of confidentiality, to resolve this the service user involved will be asked if this has their consent.
The survey will also provide insight on communication, and cultural competence.
To verify the third key indicator, a self assessment tool for staff will be implemented (Appendix 2). A
self assessment tool is implemented to enable organisations to recognise their strengths and challenges
in regards to cultural competency (Government of South Australia 2006, p.

Essay on Ann rule- Dead At sunset
This book is just one account of what took place on that fatal September 21, 1986 night. It was a warm
and beautiful Sunday night on the Sunset High way in Oregon when Cheryl Keeton was brutally
bludgeoned body was found in her van, in the fast lane by a motorist, Randall Kelly Blighton who just
stopped to see if he could offer any type of help.
Randall Blighton saw a silhouette of an infant in the vans window which now he says was a car seat.
He felt that he couldn t just pass by after he had just dropped off his own children with their mother.
When he first arrived by the van he set out flares to make sure that everybody knew that the van was
there. He then went to open the drivers side door and found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

An autopsy was performed and investigation into every possible suspect.
Cheryl keetons pink funeral took place on September 24,1986 and her sons nor estranged husband
attened. By that time brad had it set in his head that they were next to be killed and picked up his new
girlfriend Sara Gordon and insisted that they never stay in one place more then once. Sara Gordon had
been married twice before and both had failed due to her busy career as a Doctor. When Sara met Brad
she felt as though he might be mister right and now she wasn t sure what she was feeling after
everything had happened. Her and brad dropped the children off at one Sara s relatives and went to
stay at a motel. They later took a shower together when Sara had noticed a burse under Brads arm and
he was quick to answer after Sara questioned where he had gotten that from that it was from the park
on the jungle gym. Apparently he went to get the littlest from the top and his arm banged down hard
enough to leave a mark.
Cheryl Keeton who had not taken her husbands surname, was already a full partner in the law firm of
Garvey, Schubert and Barer. She also had three sons Jess, Michael and Phillip who she loved more
then any thing. She was in a custody battle with Bradley Morris Cunningham her estranged husband.
Brad was the most likely suspect in Cheryl s murdered since it seemed as though he had been gone for
longer then what he said.

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Jerry Springer Show
Rhetorical Analyses
Is identity in the hands of others or of the individuals in question? Two people who probably asked
themselves that question were those highlighted in the texts, The Jerry Springer Show and Nikki S.
Lee s photo album, Champaign and Nikki S. Lee. Champaign was featured in an episode of The Jerry
Springer Show where people came out as trans to their partners. Champaign was a women that was
born a man and was coming out to her boyfriend, Andre, whom she only talked on the phone and was
meeting for the first time. Nikki S. Lee is a photographer who is featured in an online photo album she

How is very important because often how shows the true intent of the individual because it can be
used easily to manipulate the audience. Champaign is has many examples, one being how she
presented herself on The Jerry Springer Show. Champaign believes herself to be a woman, so she
dresses like a woman and also softens her voice because it is who she is. This allowed the audience to
see her as a woman, so far that her boyfriend, Andre, didn t notice she was born a man. Champaign
changed her appearance because she identifies as a woman and this is how she controlled her identity
so people see her as a woman. Another example of how Champaign used how she presents herself to
the audience is when she became angry and confrontational towards a live audience member and
Andre, she lowered and relaxed her voice to a much more masculine voice. This was all after being
ridiculed and attacked for being born a man, Champaign tried to present herself as worthy physical
adversary to intimidate those who opposed her. Just by changing her voice she completely changed
her identity from a girl who wants to come clean from a secret, to an intimidating figure. After she
lowered her voice the crowd clearly reacted to the way that Champaign intended to by making them
burst in excitement because of the implication of a physical confrontation. Nikki Lee also used how

The Origin Of The Guitar
History of the Guitar There are many theories on the origin of the guitar. Varying types of stringed
instruments are noted in the history of Babylon, Egypt, and the Middle East, as well as in Italy,
Greece, Turkey, and the North East. All of their instruments had some sort of sound box and a long
neck. This is the same for the modern guitars of today. Strings or cords (usually made of animal
tissues) were stretched down the neck and over the sound box. Players used one hand to strum or
pluck the strings, and the other hand (fingers) to press down the strings at various points along the
neck which could produce a wide variety of notes and if the notes were played rapidly it will make a
combination of notes. Early guitar like instruments have been around for centuries. Some of the
earliest guitars appeared in Spain during the 1500 s, and their instruments share some basic
characteristics with modern guitars today. The earliest guitars were subject to considerable local
designs and different types of construction. By the late 1800 s guitars began to become more
standardized in construction and materials. Two of the earliest names for guitar like instruments used
in Spain and Italy are likely direct links with the modern guitar. The two names are Chitara, and
Ghiterra. Early Egyptian drawings show stringed instruments that resemble lyres or harps. Ancient
Rome was heavily influenced by Egyptian culture and so spread versions of these stringed instruments
around the Roman

The Relationship Between E. Coli Growth
Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a bacteria that commonly live in the gastrointestinal tract of humans
making it relevant to our population. The majority of E. coli strains is harmless, but it has the potential
to form a potent strain that possesses serious health risks. When encountering this potent strain, one
can experience health problems such as diarrhea or urinary tract infections. It is important to be able to
determine when someone is being affected by the harmful strains of E. coli and how antibiotics affect
them in order to keep the strain from cultivating further. Current scientific knowledge about the
relationship between E. coli growth and antibiotics supports the idea that with the presence of
antibiotics, the growth of E. coli is

Dr. Frederick Winslow Taylor
Dr. Frederick Winslow Taylor is best known for his scientific management principles where scientific
methods are applied to management problems to increase productivity with less cost, time and effort
.He is well known as the Father of scientific management . But the term scientific management was
not invented by Taylor. The origin of the term scientific management is identified to be in a book na
med The Economy of Manufacturers written by Charles Babbage known as Father of computer , a
mathematician, mechanical engineer and inventor. But the person who popularized the term scientif
ic management and making the methods universally acceptable is Dr. Frederick Winslow Taylor.
This report discusses briefly about the Taylor s contribution to the management theory in terms of
organizational efficiencies, analyzing and measuring of work, managing the tasks between the work
ers and employees, the concept of piecework, organizational behavior, the principle aspects of
Taylor s scientific management. It provides how relevantly and efficiently Taylor s theories are utilize

Airport Passenger Process Mapping and Evaluation
Airport Passenger Process Mapping and Evaluation
Sofia Airport is the largest and one of the three currently functioning airports in Bulgaria. It is built in
1937 and continues to serve flights and today. It consists of two terminal buildings Terminal 1 and
Terminal 2. Terminal 1 was the original airport site until 27th of December 2006 when the airport
expanded and Terminal 2 started functioning as Terminal 1 s capacity was insufficient to serve all the
flights. According to AIP at EUROCONTROL, Sofia Airport served 3 296 936 passengers for 2010.

Duty free zone faces the small size with various shops offering various duty free goods. At the end of
the duty free zone you can find the cafeteria area and waiting area to spend your time before the gate
opens. Normally before the staff commences boarding procedure, there is a time window lasting
around fifteen twenty minutes. At each gate there is only one desk for boarding confirmation, so as it
opens a large queue forms again. The airport s solution is to assign multiple employees serving at the
desk although sometimes it takes about ten minutes for this simple operation. After this check, passing
trough the gate you leave the terminal building. Passengers are loaded at bus transport to be taken to
the airplane. Most passengers find this procedure unnecessary and annoying as the distance from the
terminal exit to the airplane is not longer than 200 meters. These are security requirements but could
be rearranged the distance to be covered on foot as it would take less time and as it s done at other
airports. The whole action to go out trough the gate, get on the bus and reach the airplane entrances
lasts about 5 minutes. Then the airplane buses take the passengers to the both entrances of the
airplane. Once you get off the bus, it takes two or three minutes and few steps to go up the stairway
entrances and find your seat. When arrived back, initially you come back from your traveling, you go

Women of Trachis Essay
In Sophocles Women of Trachis, who is responsible for Heracles death? Note: that an important part
of your response to this question will be to discuss the extent to which Heracles may be responsible
for his own destruction, through his nature as a traditional hero.
It could be argued that none of the characters in Women of Trachis are essentially and solely
responsible for the death of Sophocles character Heracles. It is simply human error and the innate
qualities of a tragic hero and heroine. All the same, one could justify that the characters could have
foreseen the impact of their actions or perhaps that the disastrous end of Heracles was inevitable as it
was the prediction of the oracle (Women of Trachis ll.77 82). In the ... Show more content on

Who d be such a fool...Love is a sickness. If I get angry at my husband for having caught it, I m
utterly mad. She s done nothing to be ashamed of or harmful to me. I can t be jealous (Women of

She [Deianira] intends that neither Iole nor Heracles shall be harmed; but she must try reconquering
her husband s love. Deianira states herself that she does not wish to feel bitter towards her husband;
resentment isn t a course for a sensible woman... (Women of Trachis ll.552 553). In fact, Deianira

due to her own inner physiology and vulnerability. In her desperate situation and need for security
Deianira, in a state of panic, decides to revert to magic, the love token given to her by Nessus. Here
the audience feels more sympathy for her case as it becomes a case of being innocent and not knowing
your actions could be the wrong ones and have fatal consequences. Thus it is evident to see that her
scheme to win her husbands love back is born out of weakness, naivety and an innocent belief in
Nessus gift. All she wishes is good will, peace and love, and she believes the clotted blood of Nessus

Therapeutic Modification Essay
After the ethical examination of both therapeutic and enhancement gene modification, it can be stated
that therapeutic gene modification is a good thing and enhancement gene modification can be a bad
thing. But the other issue is where do you draw the line between the two gene modifications. On paper
it might seem like a clear cut distinction but take the example of children who use human growth
hormone. Assume a child has a medical condition and their treatment stunts their growth, so they are
prescribed human growth hormone. The human growth hormone is able to help the child grow to his
normal hight thus returning him to the baseline. But now that there is a doctor prescribing human
growth hormone, and different parent hear about this treatment ... Show more content on

I believe that there is nothing wrong with the therapeutic gene modification when it involves somatic
cells. I think that it is our moral responsibility to do what we can to help save the lives of people who
are suffering. The doctors who would be proscribing the treatment have all made a hippocratic oath so
it would be their moral duty to follow through on using this particular treatment. Therapeutic gene
manipulation with somatic cells would break any moral, ethical, or legal laws. But the other forms of
genetic manipulation are a little tricky. Therapeutic gene manipulation of germ cells can be a useful
treatment of disease but its effect plays a role in a larger scope then just the patient alone. I think that it
poses a greater risk to the whole of humanity of we allow changes to germ cells and future
generations. It would open the door to all other types of genetic manipulation. So rules have to be put
in place so no abuse of medical treatment occurs. Finally there should not be any type of enhancement
gene modification occurring. I think that it will overall produce more harm then good. It is not a
medical procedure that is used to help people who are suffering it would simply be a mechanism that
would only play a negative role in human development, simultaneously breaking many ethical rules
along the way. Genetic

Civilization and Freedom Essay
Section 1
INTRODUCTION
Definition of Civilization
Civilization occurs when a society moves to an advanced state of social development with complex
legal, political and religious organizations. There are several definitions for civilization, for instance,
quot;the people slowly progressed from barbarism to civilization quot;; quot;the quality of excellence
in thought and manners and taste quot;; quot;a man of intellectual refinement quot;; quot;humans
living together in an organized way quot;.
Freud defines, quot;civilization is a process in the service of Eros, whose purpose is to combine single
human individuals, and after that families, then races, peoples, and nations into one great unity, the
unity of mankind. But man s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When civilization consciousness develops with the knowledge of physical and social environment,
and it enforces the limits and extents to these, primary drives.
Further Freud divided the human psyche into three separate but interacting elements: the id, the ego
and the super ego. Freud described the id as a reservoir of psychic energy, the pool of biological drives
that arise from our needs for food, water, warmth, sexual gratification, aggression, avoidance of pain,
and so forth. And he believed that these drives direct all human behavior. The id is an unconscious
force, with no link to objective reality. It seeks one thing only: the discharge of tension arising from
biological drives. The id s exclusive devotion to gratification without regard for logic or reason, reality
or morality, is called the pleasure principle. According to Sigmund Freud human beings are essentially
biological creatures with strong instincts, one among them is aggression, it as Freud calls: quot;an
original self subsisting instinctual disposition in man . . . the greatest impediment to civilization. quot;
At this point the difference between primitive and civilized man arises. Primitive man could satisfy his
bodily needs in his id, as it is, whenever and wherever he wanted. Thus he could achieve his freedom
fully in his gratification of his primary needs. But even at that age, the

Symbolism In Bless Me Ultima
Rudolfo Anaya s novel, Bless Me, Ultima, depicts the struggle of a young boy, Antonio, to find his
path in life. As he tries to understand events of his waking hours, his dreams haunt his
unconsciousness. Through the interpretation of the symbolism of Antonio s dreams, the reader
develops a deeper understanding of Antonio s struggles. Throughout the novel, Antonio is learning
that Ultima s owl is also his protector. Its song seemed to say that it had come to watch over us, (13).
The song, Ultima s owl sings throughout each night, symbolizes Ultima s comforting presence in
Antonio s life and the protective power of her magic. Also, like Ultima, the owl is like a healer to
Antonio, when it sings through the night. The owl had always been there. It sang to me the night my
brothers came home from the war, and in my dreams I sometimes saw it guiding their footsteps as
they stumbled through the dark streets of their distant cities, (272). Throughout the novel, the owl of
Ultima is not only Ultima s protector, but it is also Antonio s protector. Also, in Antonio s mind as
well, he could see it as a guiding spirit, because it provided a sense of hope and longing. All in all,
Antonio sees Ultima s owl as a protector and comforting presence throughout the novel.
The golden carp symbolizes the pagan religion which ties into christianity. At the river, Cico is talking
to Antonio and exclaims, When the gods had turned the people into carp, the one kind god who loved

Social Conditions During Ww2
The Eastern Front of World War II was heavily taxing on both soldiers and civilian populations
between 1941 and 1942. Specifically, both Soviet civilians and soldiers found themselves with
dwindling supplies, increased work, and taxing psychological and physical conditions. In particular,
thievery and deceit were commonplace as a means for people to survive in the Soviet Union. This was
a result of mismanagement, corruption, and famine which in turn created an environment where
stealing was a necessity for survival. Furthermore, this breakdown of social order can then indicate the
effects of prolonged conflict upon a society. Conditions within the Soviet Union at the time provide
strong causation and reasoning for increased instances of Soviet citizens and soldiers stealing supplies
from one another. Civilians in particular were faced with decreasing ration sizes as the majority of
supplies were being distributed towards soldiers. A diary entry during the fall of 1941 by Liubov Vasil

Firstly, punishment for theft in the Soviet Union was fairly draconian in nature. The same memoir
notes an incident regarding similar teenagers being caught for stealing and punished to several years in
a camp. Later on as well, a man is executed for giving others his ration cards. It is then thought that
such harsh punishment would be a suitable deterrent towards any disruption of social order, yet there
are still instances of thievery primarily of food. This is predictably due to the sheer desperation of the
civilian situation in the Soviet Union at the time. Moreover, it is entirely reasonable that due to the low
amount of rationing and high requirement for work, civilians were either forced to disregard the law
and steal, or face starvation. As a result, the act of theft became a common means for people in the
Soviet Union to physically

1973 Arab Oil Embargo And Its Effect On The US
Part D: Analysis:
In 1973, Arab states and Israel were in the midst of war. In retaliation of the U.S. resupplying Israeli
military, Arab members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) initiated an
embargo against the United States and other countries that supported Israel. This embargo banned
petroleum exports to certain countries, introduced cuts in oil production, and had a drastic effect on
the U.S. economy (Oil Embargo, 1973 1974). It led to quadrupling oil prices and oil shortages that led
to a widespread crisis across the United States and other countries facing the embargo. The crisis

relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran has been considered the most significant, lasting effect of the
Arab Oil Embargo. However, these changes were much less direct than those in the energy sector.
Even though the embargo led to the United States allying with Saudi Arabia when they had previously
been enemies, it can be argued that the embargo was not a direct cause of this shifting alliance (Myre).
Furthermore, the fact that the United States is now rivals with Iran is more the result of the overthrow
of the shah, who was effectively a puppet of the United States, than a consequence of the embargo
itself (Myre). While, the effects of these changing dynamics are still seen today and are undoubtedly
significant, the relationship between the embargo and the changing U.S. energy sector and policy is
much more visible and direct. What s more, the argument that the embargo most influenced U.S.
energy is backed with an abundance of evidence, while the evidence suggesting the changing
international relations resulted from the embargo is shaky and tentative at best. Due to this, it is
apparent that the claim that the embargo affected U.S. energy policy most significantly is the correct

foreign policies. In this speech, Adam speaks to the people of America more specifically, Adam is also
speaking to the people who are wary of the idea that a group of selected people will be controlling the

Disadvantages Of Strategic Planning
Strategic planning is a process that can allows us to both study and conduct simulations of the future.
The process can show hidden opportunities or threats and providing the way to apply on them early.
Strategic planning gives a clear framework with criteria for us to make day to day decisions, It also
help to identify fragmentary and unaligned choices and personal value judgments. This strategic
planning encourages the commitment of the entire HO in order to achieve the planned results and this
is why it is an important element in institutional cohesion. An organization that has better strategic
planning and applies it consistently can help to raise up corporate reputation.
A strategic plan is the systematic way that describes how your company apply the chosen strategy. A
plan list out where an organization is going within few years and how it s going to reach there.
Moreover, the plan is focused on a major function such as a division or a department.
A strategic plan may list out the purpose of helping an organization do a job in better way. This is
because a plan focuses the energy, resources, and time in the organization to meet the same

Alaska s State Turtle Is The Largest Of Four Species Of...
Have you ever heard of a Western painted Turtle? Well if you are from Colorado you should know
what they are! Western painted turtles are Colorado s state turtle. How did that come about? Well in
2007 Jay Baichis 4th grade class came together because they wanted these colorful turtles to be our
state turtles. Why? Because these beautiful turtles are found by many lakes, ponds, and water bays
around Colorado. They have bright beautiful colors just like Colorado. The Western Painted Turtle
became our state turtle a year later after the 4th graders went through all the legal ways and the
process to make it happen. The 4th graders had gone to governor Ritter on March 18, 2008 and told
him why the turtles should be our state turtle, and Ritter had signed the HB 08 1017. Now let s get into
more detail about our state reptile.
The Western Painted Turtle is the largest of four species of turtles. They can grow up to about 8 inches
and the males are generally smaller than the females. Their shells are nice and smooth and are about
250mm long. They are called painted turtles because their lower shell is a bright red with yellow and
olive green colored designs spread through their shells. They have yellow lines on each side of their
neck that are about the same size that go all the way to their head. They are cold blooded animals so
they cannot control their body temperature. They have to go under the mud or sand to keep themselves
warm. Western Painted Turtles are aquatic reptiles so

Public And Private Sector Accounting
Introduction
The major debate in accounting is about the appropriateness of adopting the private sector accounting
standards and practices to the public sector. Some researches support there is no distinction between
the public and the private sector. For example, McGregor (1999) thought these two sectors are
primarily similar in physical characteristics of assets. However, the against side believes that in some
public activities, the application of accounting standards for public sector entities is inconsistent with
the business sectors (Guthrie, 1998; Barton, 1999).
This report concerns on evaluating three major issues between public and private sectors accounting:
1) a sector neutral approach chosen by accounting regulators; 2) the impact of applying a sector
neutral approach to public sector accounting; 3) the adequate information generated by current
approach meet the different information needs of users from public and private sectors.
After the Introduction, I will analysis these three issues by providing critiques and literature reviews
on different opinions in following section and give a conclusion.
Literature review and Evaluation
The public sector is one of the most important sectors of any countries. The public sector entities offer
services, goods or programs to public for non profit purpose. However, the private sector is mainly

are grouped into four main groups. Main types are Aristotle s Virtue Ethics, Aquinas s Natural Law
theory, Kant s Deontological or duty based ethics and J.S. Mill s Utilitarianism. They all are so
important to us and each has an understanding.
All of these are placed under the heading of normative ethics and also what that means is that are

Business Cycle And Recovery Period Analysis
Introduction The period following a recession, where the GDP of the economy is increasing, is
encapsulated in the term recovery . Subsequently, an increase in national output would ensue, thus
prompting the recovery and growth of the economy. As opposed to the previously existent
contractionary period, the economy would now be working at higher capacity allowing factors such as
the rate of unemployment to decline, in addition to increasing productivity. Illustrated in the diagram
below shows the business cycle and recovery period. As shown in the diagram, the recovery stage
occurs between the trough (the lowest point in the graph, and where the real output is equal to the
potential output. Impact on values of imports The term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, despite a decline in quantity demand for these good and services, the resultant increase
in price may balance the decline that occurred to the demand. Thus, as a result of the elasticity of price
of imported goods, the increase of price affecting imports, caused by deprecation of currency, may
ultimately have negligible effect on the value of imports, and might possibly even cause it to increase.
Additionally, despite the depreciation of the British pound in 2007, the UK s economy experienced a
3.1% increase in imports. This is a result of the UK economy being at a stage of recovery, which
would cause to increase imports, as the manufacturing division would import an increased amount of
foreign products. Thus, it is plausible that a fall in the value of the GBP, which would inevitably cause
an increase in price of imports, may prompt the value of imported goods and services to remain
stagnant or decrease. Due to decreased labour productivity In the instance of a decline in the labour
productivity of the UK in its entirety, a decline will consequently occur in the general production of
goods in the country. This would trigger a chain of events that would concomitantly increase the cost
of production per unit for the producers, causing the supply to decrease, regardless of the price it is
sold at. These circumstances would result in a reduction of the aggregate supply (AS) of the

The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act
Every day police officers in every jurisdiction across America deal with some of the worst segments of
our society, arrest these people, and then hopefully go home safe after a long day at work. They often
times go home to a family who does not have the skillset or tools to protect themselves in the same
manner or fashion as a police officer does. Families are left exposed to the potential for danger if one
of these suspects later comes after their police officer spouse or parent. There are some jurisdictions
that require their police officers to carry their service weapon off duty, and some that don t require but
do allow this if the officer chooses to do so. This is all well and good as long as the officer stays
within their legal jurisdiction, but what happens if they want to take their family on a road trip up
state, or out of state? The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act, or LEOSA, is public policy on the
federal level that was created to protect law enforcement officers on all levels (local, county, state, and
federal) and is reciprocal throughout the fifty states as law. It is without a doubt a major protection for
law enforcement officers while off duty and for those who are retired.
The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is a United States federal law that was signed,
passed, and enacted in 2004 by President George W. Bush. The law is often referred to incorrectly as
HR 218 because it was introduced that way to the 108th Congress; but was

respondents reported that inadequate emphasis on fraud determent practices and on education
contributed to this problem. The public interest in fraud investigation encouraged the American
Institute of Certiļ¬ed Public Accountants (AICPA) to host a two hour online fraud conference on
CompuServe on 19 June 1996 featuring David L. Landsittel, Chair of the AICPA s Fraud Task Force,
and Edmund R. Noonan, Chair of the Auditing Standards Board (AICPA, 1996a). The conference
discussed the proposed Statement on Auditing Standards, Consideration of Fraud in a Financial
Statement Audit . The Treadway Commission (1987) recommended that accounting programmes pay
more attention to fraud investigation education, suggesting that current curriculum content may be
deļ¬cient in this important area. The range of knowledge required of forensic accountants in
performing litigation services, giving expert testimony and conducting fraud investigation is extensive
and should, perhaps, have a more prominent position in the accounting curriculum. Many groups in
society expect accountants to assume a more active role in providing reasonable assurance regarding
responsible corporate governance, reliable ļ¬nancial reporting, and detecting and preventing fraudulent

The Ratio Of The Monetary Model
It is no surprise that there have been many literatures on the determination of exchange rates given the
significant impact that movement in exchange rates have on a world s political and economic stability
as well as the welfare of individual countries. It plays an important role in international investments,
company profits and a countries macroeconomic fundamental factor such as unemployment, wages
and interest rates among others. This has led to the development of many models and economic
theories, one of which is the monetary model. Despite this, economists still cannot agree as to which
model best explains movement in exchange rates because the results obtained when testing different
models often contradict one another.
Though the research in this paper doesn t compare different economic models, it does look at the
sticky and flexible price monetary model of exchange rate determination and its variables. The paper
tests the adequacy of the monetary model (how good a job the model does in explaining movement in
exchange rates). It also shows how GDP, interest rates, money supply and inflation influences the
nominal exchange rates for the Eurozone, Japan and the UK against the USD.
The aim of this research is to test if the sticky and flexible price monetary model is valid, which of the
variables making up the model has the biggest impact in the movement of exchange rates for the case
of the Eurozone, Japan and the UK, and comparing the results obtained to provide

  • 2. Self Assessment Paper To verify the first indicator, a survey will be used. Surveys can gather large amounts of data, and can be administered through mail, e mail, or face to face. As this survey is in the process of being developed, it is essential that the survey undergoes testing to ensure the survey is measuring what it needs to measure. A method that will be utilised will be a survey with a rating scale used as the tool to measure service user satisfaction. The Likert scale is commonly used to measure a person s attitudes or behaviours, using answer choice that ranges from one end to another (Kuma Tan et al. 2007, p. 550) (appendix 1). A Likert scale survey can identify the different levels of the service user s opinions about the staff s cultural competence (Mellor Moore 2014, p. 369). The survey will indicate the service user s satisfaction, identify if further training is required, and improvements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This raises the issue of confidentiality, to resolve this the service user involved will be asked if this has their consent. The survey will also provide insight on communication, and cultural competence. To verify the third key indicator, a self assessment tool for staff will be implemented (Appendix 2). A self assessment tool is implemented to enable organisations to recognise their strengths and challenges in regards to cultural competency (Government of South Australia 2006, p. ... • 4. Rhetorical Analysis Of The Jerry Springer Show Rhetorical Analyses Is identity in the hands of others or of the individuals in question? Two people who probably asked themselves that question were those highlighted in the texts, The Jerry Springer Show and Nikki S. Lee s photo album, Champaign and Nikki S. Lee. Champaign was featured in an episode of The Jerry Springer Show where people came out as trans to their partners. Champaign was a women that was born a man and was coming out to her boyfriend, Andre, whom she only talked on the phone and was meeting for the first time. Nikki S. How is very important because often how shows the true intent of the individual because it can be used easily to manipulate the audience. Champaign is has many examples, one being how she presented herself on The Jerry Springer Show. Champaign believes herself to be a woman, so she dresses like a woman and also softens her voice because it is who she is. This allowed the audience to see her as a woman, so far that her boyfriend, Andre, didn t notice she was born a man. Champaign changed her appearance because she identifies as a woman and this is how she controlled her identity so people see her as a woman. Another example of how Champaign used how she presents herself to the audience is when she became angry and confrontational towards a live audience member and Andre, she lowered and relaxed her voice to a much more masculine voice. This was all after being ridiculed and attacked for being born a man, Champaign tried to present herself as worthy physical adversary to intimidate those who opposed her. Just by changing her voice she completely changed her identity from a girl who wants to come clean from a secret, to an intimidating figure. After she lowered her voice the crowd clearly reacted to the way that Champaign intended to by making them burst in excitement because of the implication of a physical confrontation. • 5. The Origin Of The Guitar History of the Guitar There are many theories on the origin of the guitar. Varying types of stringed instruments are noted in the history of Babylon, Egypt, and the Middle East, as well as in Italy, Greece, Turkey, and the North East. All of their instruments had some sort of sound box and a long neck. This is the same for the modern guitars of today. Strings or cords (usually made of animal tissues) were stretched down the neck and over the sound box. Players used one hand to strum or pluck the strings, and the other hand (fingers) to press down the strings at various points along the neck which could produce a wide variety of notes and if the notes were played rapidly it will make a combination of notes. Early guitar like instruments have been around for centuries. Some of the earliest guitars appeared in Spain during the 1500 s, and their instruments share some basic characteristics with modern guitars today. The earliest guitars were subject to considerable local designs and different types of construction. By the late 1800 s guitars began to become more standardized in construction and materials. Two of the earliest names for guitar like instruments used in Spain and Italy are likely direct links with the modern guitar. The two names are Chitara, and Ghiterra. Early Egyptian drawings show stringed instruments that resemble lyres or harps. Ancient Rome was heavily influenced by Egyptian culture and so spread versions of these stringed instruments around the Roman ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At each gate there is only one desk for boarding confirmation, so as it opens a large queue forms again. The airport s solution is to assign multiple employees serving at the desk although sometimes it takes about ten minutes for this simple operation. After this check, passing trough the gate you leave the terminal building. Passengers are loaded at bus transport to be taken to the airplane. Most passengers find this procedure unnecessary and annoying as the distance from the terminal exit to the airplane is not longer than 200 meters. Note: that an important part of your response to this question will be to discuss the extent to which Heracles may be responsible for his own destruction, through his nature as a traditional hero. It could be argued that none of the characters in Women of Trachis are essentially and solely responsible for the death of Sophocles character Heracles. It is simply human error and the innate qualities of a tragic hero and heroine. All the same, one could justify that the characters could have foreseen the impact of their actions or perhaps that the disastrous end of Heracles was inevitable as it was the prediction of the oracle (Women of Trachis ll.77 82). • 10. Therapeutic Modification Essay After the ethical examination of both therapeutic and enhancement gene modification, it can be stated that therapeutic gene modification is a good thing and enhancement gene modification can be a bad thing. But the other issue is where do you draw the line between the two gene modifications. On paper it might seem like a clear cut distinction but take the example of children who use human growth hormone. Assume a child has a medical condition and their treatment stunts their growth, so they are prescribed human growth hormone. The human growth hormone is able to help the child grow to his normal hight thus returning him to the baseline. But now that there is a doctor prescribing human growth hormone, and different parent hear about this treatment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that there is nothing wrong with the therapeutic gene modification when it involves somatic cells. I think that it is our moral responsibility to do what we can to help save the lives of people who are suffering. The doctors who would be proscribing the treatment have all made a hippocratic oath so it would be their moral duty to follow through on using this particular treatment. Therapeutic gene manipulation with somatic cells would break any moral, ethical, or legal laws. But the other forms of genetic manipulation are a little tricky. Therapeutic gene manipulation of germ cells can be a useful treatment of disease but its effect plays a role in a larger scope then just the patient alone. I think that it poses a greater risk to the whole of humanity of we allow changes to germ cells and future generations. It would open the door to all other types of genetic manipulation. So rules have to be put in place so no abuse of medical treatment occurs. Finally there should not be any type of enhancement gene modification occurring. I think that it will overall produce more harm then good. It is not a medical procedure that is used to help people who are suffering it would simply be a mechanism that would only play a negative role in human development, simultaneously breaking many ethical rules along the way. There are several definitions for civilization, for instance, quot;the people slowly progressed from barbarism to civilization quot;; quot;the quality of excellence in thought and manners and taste quot;; quot;a man of intellectual refinement quot;; quot;humans living together in an organized way quot;. When civilization consciousness develops with the knowledge of physical and social environment, and it enforces the limits and extents to these, primary drives. Further Freud divided the human psyche into three separate but interacting elements: the id, the ego and the super ego. Freud described the id as a reservoir of psychic energy, the pool of biological drives that arise from our needs for food, water, warmth, sexual gratification, aggression, avoidance of pain, and so forth. And he believed that these drives direct all human behavior. The id is an unconscious force, with no link to objective reality. It seeks one thing only: the discharge of tension arising from biological drives. The id s exclusive devotion to gratification without regard for logic or reason, reality or morality, is called the pleasure principle. According to Sigmund Freud human beings are essentially biological creatures with strong instincts, one among them is aggression, it as Freud calls: quot;an original self subsisting instinctual disposition in man . . . the greatest impediment to civilization. quot; At this point the difference between primitive and civilized man arises. Primitive man could satisfy his bodily needs in his id, as it is, whenever and wherever he wanted. Thus he could achieve his freedom fully in his gratification of his primary needs. • 12. Symbolism In Bless Me Ultima Rudolfo Anaya s novel, Bless Me, Ultima, depicts the struggle of a young boy, Antonio, to find his path in life. As he tries to understand events of his waking hours, his dreams haunt his unconsciousness. Through the interpretation of the symbolism of Antonio s dreams, the reader develops a deeper understanding of Antonio s struggles. Throughout the novel, Antonio is learning that Ultima s owl is also his protector. Its song seemed to say that it had come to watch over us, (13). The song, Ultima s owl sings throughout each night, symbolizes Ultima s comforting presence in Antonio s life and the protective power of her magic. Also, like Ultima, the owl is like a healer to Antonio, when it sings through the night. The owl had always been there. It sang to me the night my brothers came home from the war, and in my dreams I sometimes saw it guiding their footsteps as they stumbled through the dark streets of their distant cities, (272). Throughout the novel, the owl of Ultima is not only Ultima s protector, but it is also Antonio s protector. Also, in Antonio s mind as well, he could see it as a guiding spirit, because it provided a sense of hope and longing. All in all, Antonio sees Ultima s owl as a protector and comforting presence throughout the novel. The golden carp symbolizes the pagan religion which ties into christianity. • 13. Social Conditions During Ww2 The Eastern Front of World War II was heavily taxing on both soldiers and civilian populations between 1941 and 1942. Specifically, both Soviet civilians and soldiers found themselves with dwindling supplies, increased work, and taxing psychological and physical conditions. In particular, thievery and deceit were commonplace as a means for people to survive in the Soviet Union. This was a result of mismanagement, corruption, and famine which in turn created an environment where stealing was a necessity for survival. Furthermore, this breakdown of social order can then indicate the effects of prolonged conflict upon a society. Conditions within the Soviet Union at the time provide strong causation and reasoning for increased instances of Soviet citizens and soldiers stealing supplies from one another. Civilians in particular were faced with decreasing ration sizes as the majority of supplies were being distributed towards soldiers. A diary entry during the fall of 1941 by Liubov Vasil evna Shaporina during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, punishment for theft in the Soviet Union was fairly draconian in nature. The same memoir notes an incident regarding similar teenagers being caught for stealing and punished to several years in a camp. Later on as well, a man is executed for giving others his ration cards. It is then thought that such harsh punishment would be a suitable deterrent towards any disruption of social order, yet there are still instances of thievery primarily of food. This is predictably due to the sheer desperation of the civilian situation in the Soviet Union at the time. Moreover, it is entirely reasonable that due to the low amount of rationing and high requirement for work, civilians were either forced to disregard the law and steal, or face starvation. As a result, the act of theft became a common means for people in the Soviet Union to physically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In retaliation of the U.S. resupplying Israeli military, Arab members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) initiated an embargo against the United States and other countries that supported Israel. This embargo banned petroleum exports to certain countries, introduced cuts in oil production, and had a drastic effect on the U.S. economy (Oil Embargo, 1973 1974). It led to quadrupling oil prices and oil shortages that led to a widespread crisis across the United States and other countries facing the embargo. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran has been considered the most significant, lasting effect of the Arab Oil Embargo. However, these changes were much less direct than those in the energy sector. Even though the embargo led to the United States allying with Saudi Arabia when they had previously been enemies, it can be argued that the embargo was not a direct cause of this shifting alliance (Myre). Furthermore, the fact that the United States is now rivals with Iran is more the result of the overthrow of the shah, who was effectively a puppet of the United States, than a consequence of the embargo itself (Myre). While, the effects of these changing dynamics are still seen today and are undoubtedly significant, the relationship between the embargo and the changing U.S. energy sector and policy is much more visible and direct. What s more, the argument that the embargo most influenced U.S. energy is backed with an abundance of evidence, while the evidence suggesting the changing international relations resulted from the embargo is shaky and tentative at best. • 20. Alaska s State Turtle Is The Largest Of Four Species Of... Have you ever heard of a Western painted Turtle? Well if you are from Colorado you should know what they are! Western painted turtles are Colorado s state turtle. How did that come about? Well in 2007 Jay Baichis 4th grade class came together because they wanted these colorful turtles to be our state turtles. Why? Because these beautiful turtles are found by many lakes, ponds, and water bays around Colorado. They have bright beautiful colors just like Colorado. The Western Painted Turtle became our state turtle a year later after the 4th graders went through all the legal ways and the process to make it happen. The 4th graders had gone to governor Ritter on March 18, 2008 and told him why the turtles should be our state turtle, and Ritter had signed the HB 08 1017. Now let s get into more detail about our state reptile. The Western Painted Turtle is the largest of four species of turtles. They can grow up to about 8 inches and the males are generally smaller than the females. Their shells are nice and smooth and are about 250mm long. They are called painted turtles because their lower shell is a bright red with yellow and olive green colored designs spread through their shells. • 21. Public And Private Sector Accounting Introduction The major debate in accounting is about the appropriateness of adopting the private sector accounting standards and practices to the public sector. Some researches support there is no distinction between the public and the private sector. For example, McGregor (1999) thought these two sectors are primarily similar in physical characteristics of assets. However, the against side believes that in some public activities, the application of accounting standards for public sector entities is inconsistent with the business sectors (Guthrie, 1998; Barton, 1999). This report concerns on evaluating three major issues between public and private sectors accounting: 1) a sector neutral approach chosen by accounting regulators; 2) the impact of applying a sector neutral approach to public sector accounting; 3) the adequate information generated by current approach meet the different information needs of users from public and private sectors. After the Introduction, I will analysis these three issues by providing critiques and literature reviews on different opinions in following section and give a conclusion. Literature review and Evaluation The public sector is one of the most important sectors of any countries. The public sector entities offer services, goods or programs to public for non profit purpose. However, the private sector is mainly composed by for profit entities. • 26. Business Cycle And Recovery Period Analysis Introduction The period following a recession, where the GDP of the economy is increasing, is encapsulated in the term recovery . Subsequently, an increase in national output would ensue, thus prompting the recovery and growth of the economy. As opposed to the previously existent contractionary period, the economy would now be working at higher capacity allowing factors such as the rate of unemployment to decline, in addition to increasing productivity. Illustrated in the diagram below shows the business cycle and recovery period. As shown in the diagram, the recovery stage occurs between the trough (the lowest point in the graph, and where the real output is equal to the potential output. Nevertheless, despite a decline in quantity demand for these good and services, the resultant increase in price may balance the decline that occurred to the demand. Thus, as a result of the elasticity of price of imported goods, the increase of price affecting imports, caused by deprecation of currency, may ultimately have negligible effect on the value of imports, and might possibly even cause it to increase. Additionally, despite the depreciation of the British pound in 2007, the UK s economy experienced a 3.1% increase in imports. This is a result of the UK economy being at a stage of recovery, which would cause to increase imports, as the manufacturing division would import an increased amount of foreign products. Thus, it is plausible that a fall in the value of the GBP, which would inevitably cause an increase in price of imports, may prompt the value of imported goods and services to remain stagnant or decrease. Due to decreased labour productivity In the instance of a decline in the labour productivity of the UK in its entirety, a decline will consequently occur in the general production of goods in the country. This would trigger a chain of events that would concomitantly increase the cost of production per unit for the producers, causing the supply to decrease, regardless of the price it is sold at. These circumstances would result in a reduction of the aggregate supply (AS) of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act Every day police officers in every jurisdiction across America deal with some of the worst segments of our society, arrest these people, and then hopefully go home safe after a long day at work. They often times go home to a family who does not have the skillset or tools to protect themselves in the same manner or fashion as a police officer does. Families are left exposed to the potential for danger if one of these suspects later comes after their police officer spouse or parent. There are some jurisdictions that require their police officers to carry their service weapon off duty, and some that don t require but do allow this if the officer chooses to do so. This is all well and good as long as the officer stays within their legal jurisdiction, but what happens if they want to take their family on a road trip up state, or out of state? The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act, or LEOSA, is public policy on the federal level that was created to protect law enforcement officers on all levels (local, county, state, and federal) and is reciprocal throughout the fifty states as law. It is without a doubt a major protection for law enforcement officers while off duty and for those who are retired. The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is a United States federal law that was signed, passed, and enacted in 2004 by President George W. Bush. The law is often referred to incorrectly as HR 218 because it was introduced that way to the 108th Congress; but was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The public interest in fraud investigation encouraged the American Institute of Certiļ¬ed Public Accountants (AICPA) to host a two hour online fraud conference on CompuServe on 19 June 1996 featuring David L. Landsittel, Chair of the AICPA s Fraud Task Force, and Edmund R. Noonan, Chair of the Auditing Standards Board (AICPA, 1996a). The conference discussed the proposed Statement on Auditing Standards, Consideration of Fraud in a Financial Statement Audit . The Treadway Commission (1987) recommended that accounting programmes pay more attention to fraud investigation education, suggesting that current curriculum content may be deļ¬cient in this important area. The range of knowledge required of forensic accountants in performing litigation services, giving expert testimony and conducting fraud investigation is extensive and should, perhaps, have a more prominent position in the accounting curriculum. • 32. The Ratio Of The Monetary Model It is no surprise that there have been many literatures on the determination of exchange rates given the significant impact that movement in exchange rates have on a world s political and economic stability as well as the welfare of individual countries. It plays an important role in international investments, company profits and a countries macroeconomic fundamental factor such as unemployment, wages and interest rates among others. This has led to the development of many models and economic theories, one of which is the monetary model. Despite this, economists still cannot agree as to which model best explains movement in exchange rates because the results obtained when testing different models often contradict one another. Though the research in this paper doesn t compare different economic models, it does look at the sticky and flexible price monetary model of exchange rate determination and its variables. The paper tests the adequacy of the monetary model (how good a job the model does in explaining movement in exchange rates). It also shows how GDP, interest rates, money supply and inflation influences the nominal exchange rates for the Eurozone, Japan and the UK against the USD. The aim of this research is to test if the sticky and flexible price monetary model is valid, which of the variables making up the model has the biggest impact in the movement of exchange rates for the case of the Eurozone, Japan and the UK, and comparing the results obtained to provide ...
