The Cave Allegory
We experience reality through our five senses; sight, touch, smell, taste, and hearing. These
provide us with the ability to experience reality. But with illusion, we use our imagination. The
Cave Allegory talks about imagining a cave full of imprisoned people since their birth, facing a
blank wall. The prisoners watch shadows of objects passing in front of a fire that is behind them
and gives names to these shadows. Now since these people have been chained to the wall all of
their lives, the shadows are their reality. Once broken free from the chains, the prisoners are able
to see the objects for what they are and discover that their reality was not really what they thought.
The Matrix is about heroes fighting against sentient machines that try to control the human
population because their bodies are used as an energy source. The main character Neo, is a
computer programmer and he is drawn into war against the machines. The Matrix is a imitation
that creates a false world where people are prisoners from reality, much like Platos Allegory of the
Cave. Some say that hip hop is a dream while others say it is an illusion. I believe... Show more

When you listen to hip hop music, the lyrics can make one think about the good things in life. Or
should I say the materialistic things in life. It makes the listener dream about having cars, money,
and fame when they get older. Some artist give unrealistic dreams to their audience (mainly youth)
through their lyrics. The lyrics glorify being a gangster, drugs, and having multiple girls at one time.
In America, young boys take an interest in these things and this becomes their dream or goal. These
youth gravitates towards what the artist puts out and then believes that they can accomplish what
the artist has accomplished and/or get what the artists already has. Not many people make it big in
the music industry today, that is why it is no more than just a

A Brief Note On Asp.net And Cloud Computing Essay
ASP.NET Cloud Computing A research report Prepared for: Tony Assadi IT7x11 Advanced
Internet Application Development Whitireia Community Polytechnic, Porirua Prepared by:
Maen Terawasi Student ID: 21103436 Date Submitted: 10 April 2015 Executive Summary The
ASP.NET Framework offers a development environment that comes with various tools and
technologies that aid developers in building enterprise class web services, websites, and web
apps. Along with this ASP.NET is part of the Microsoft .NET Framework which gives the ability
to utilize classes within the .NET Framework. With the implementation of Cloud computing
platforms and ASP.NET the benefits offered by combining the two proves to be significant in
terms of cutting down costs, management, maintenance, and the need for resources since most
cloud providers are already providing SaaS (software as a service), PaaS (platform as a service),
and IaaS (infrastructure as a service) altogether. However demand to move onto the cloud is
substantially increasing resulting in the massive surge of cloud providers coming into existence.
With various cloud provider competitors out there Windows Azure which is a Microsoft cloud
platform is one of the more notable cloud providers when it comes to ASP.NET applications and
services over the web. Introduction The main objective of this research report is to present and
critically answer questions that have been designed specifically to look at ASP.NET

Data Synthesis Essay
Comment on the data you have gathered in the following general manner:
The units used and if different from KeV/Вµm the conversion factor between them.

The variation in stopping power value with energy for protons.
A heavy charged particle traversing matter loses energy mainly through the ionization and
excitation of atom. A heavy charged particle can transfer a very small fraction of its energy in an
electronic collision (inelastic collision) and loses energy continuously along its path at the linear
rate. 1 The energy loss by charged particles in a medium is called the stopping power or linear ...

As protons move through liquid water, they ionize or excite atoms or molecules of the matter
(water) and deposit a dose or energy along their path. If a charged particle has a greater energy
and moving faster, it has a lower tendency to lose energy along its path in per unit path length.5
Similarly, at higher energy, protons move relatively faster and thus ionize and excite fewer
molecules, therefore, its stopping power is lower.5 However, as their energy decrease, protons
transfer more energy to the medium and the stopping power would be higher as shown in Figure
1. Consequently, the stopping power or LET depends on its energy.5 The energy loss increases
towards the end of the range, reaches a maximum, which is called the Bragg peak, and abruptly
drop to zero before the protons stop. The Bragg peak occurs because the interaction cross section of
the medium increases as the proton s energy decreases.1,

Comparison And Contrast Of Art
Comparison and Contrast of Art
Art is able to transport its viewer through time and connect us as a community. Audiences are able
to infer the content and context of the artwork. Art displayed through different mediums and about
different topics can share many similarities and draw connections between one another. Exodus,
created by Shelby Lechman (2015), uses oil paint on canvas to depict a young boy and father in a
train car, leaving their home in Hungary during the time of the Hungarian Revolution (fig.1). Back
into the Earth: Creation and the Interpretation of Meaning, created by Tamara Himmelspach

representing the traditions of the Ojibwa culture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, further connection in context and content can be developed when analyzing the
connection of the works roots and art in history. Exodus exhibits the reality of human suffering as
a result of war and oppression during the Hungarian Revolution. The historical relevance of this
work dives into a deeper significance than its basic face value. The oppression and struggle for
power signified in Exodus also translates into Figure 2. Both cultures, in their own time have faced
their traditions and way of life being threatened. As Hungarian citizens are forced to leave their
country, Ojibwa members were constantly threatened by European immigrants. The human
experience is key in understanding and studying art. Besides the main styles and usage in
appearance, the connection to a point in time and the influence of that time allows the audience to
connect with the artist and the characteristics of the artwork. Audiences are able to connect past
themes to present day issues, such as the difficulties facing many Syrian refugees and the numerous
Native American women who have gone missing. The importance of home and culture is evident
in both works despite their different purposes and artistic modes. Limits are explored and barriers
of past, present are future are removed when audiences are able to interpret the work from any point
in time and understand the significance of its visual and non visual means.

Civil War Female Spies Summary
Historical narrative nonfiction writer, Karen Abbott presented her lecture entitled Civil War
Female Spies on March 22, 2016. She is a New York Times bestselling author of Liar, Temptress,
Soldier, Spy, which was named one of the best books of 2014 by Library Journal, the Christian
Science Monitor, and Amazon, and was optioned by Sony for a miniseries. She has written for
the New York Times Book Review, the Wall Street Journal, Smithsonian magazine, Salon and
other publications, making her a very distinguished expert in her field. In her lecture, Abbott
discussed the achievements of four female spies that had major contributions in the war. The
first spy she discussed was named Belle Boyd, who was a seventeen year old Virginian. She told
the story of how, when Union soldiers arrived at her home and threatened to raise a Union flag
over her house, Belle shot one dead. After this bold action, Boyd decided that the Confederate
army needed her, so she planned to work her way up the spy ranks. Abbott explained how she was
a notorious seductress and was very overt with her opinions and sexuality. In addition, Boyd

whether the process used is working well or presenting challenges. This paper analyzes the
collective data obtained from the completed microsystem assessment tool (MAT). As we know it,
microsystem is the logical ballgame for the connection between vision and transmission and thus
functions as the agent for change (Stanley, 2011).
Processes that are Working Well Based on page 11 12 of my MAT Core and Supporting Processess

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
A Tale of Two Cities has several recurring themes, including the failure of the French Revolution. In
the book, the peasants defeated the aristocrats by imprisoning and murdering them. Although many
of the imprisonments and executions were unjust, the peasants had gain complete power. The
peasants revolution did not end the tyranny that existed with the aristocrats ruling, but created a
new tyranny with lack of justice and mercy.
Dickens uses the evil Monsieur the Marquis to represent the tyrannical French aristocracy. The
Marquis recklessly runs over and kills a peasant child. Dickens shows his lack of any sympathy
and mercy for the peasants at this scene by stating, Monsieur the Marquis ran his eyes over them
all, as if they had been mere rats come out of their holes. He thinks of the peasants as nothing
more than rats as do the entire French aristocracy. However, the revolution does not result in any
positive change. After the peasants obtained power, they have the same lack of sympathy and
mercy toward the aristocracy or enemies of the Republic. In Lucie s conversation with the Wood
Sawyer, we see he is no better than Monsieur the Marquis, as he takes joy in the execution of
aristocrat children. I call myself the Samson of the firewood guillotine. See here again! Loo, loo,
loo; Loo, loo, loo! And off HER head comes! Now, a child. Tickle, tickle; Pickle, pickle! And off
ITS head comes. All the family!

Intertextuality In Pleasantville
Through the post modernist film Pleasantville (1998), director Gary Ross, incorporates
intertextuality to express his attitude towards idea of control through the characters of David
(Tobey Maguire) and Jennifer (Reese Witherspoon) who are transported into the 1950s sitcom. Ross
implements allusions, intertextual references through literature and art work and cinematic
techniques to convey themes of revolution, standing up for one s belief and liberation.
In Pleaseantville the theme of standing up for one s belief is well portrayed with multiple
references to Catcher in the Rye , by J.D. Salinger and cinematic devices. The intertextual
connection between the novel and film is most evident in the protagonist s quest to enlighten the

Battle Of The Santa Cruz Islands Research Paper
The Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands was a naval battle between the United States Navy and the
Imperial Japanese Navy. This was one of a hand full of naval battles that happen within visual
range of each other. The first strikes of the battle took place on 26 October 1942. The two fleets
pulled out of range from each other on 27 October 1942. The battle took place in the Pacific
Ocean around the Solomon Islands. This battle was labeled as a Japanese tactical victory, but later
to prove that it was an American strategic victory. Due to the amount of damage and loses that the
Japanese Navy took. It took away from the fleets involvement in the battle for Guadalcanal,

But with the fleets being so close to each other it was hard for them to move about for more
tactical placement. So, with the size of the Japanese fleet and the fact that they got off with the
attack first lead them to sink one of the Allied carriers. But also with the amount of damage the
Japanese fleet took, the Allied forces used that to push harder and win battles against the naval
fleets of Japan. So on the grand scale of things this battle was a Japanese tactical victory, but later
to prove that it was an American strategic victory. So most Naval expert have the argument that
overall battle was a win for the Allied fleet, due to the heavy loss of aircraft from the Japanese
fleet. When other s stand by the lost carrier of the Allied to the Japanese fleet. I believe that
when you look at total damage to both fleets to include aircraft. I still think that the Japanese
fleet won this battle. When you look more into larger scale the information that is present yes it
was a strategic victory for the Allied forces. With being able to repair and push the ships back
into battles and the fact that they still had many of their seasoned aircraft crews. Helped down
the road for an overall victory over the Japanese. In many Naval books this battle is used as an
example on how a small battle can still affect the overall victory and how in this case it did. It also is

Filing A Timely Charge Is An Exception Under...
I. Burke exhausted her administrative remedies because the retaliation claim is an exception under
administrative requirements as it grew out of the allegations from the initial EEOC claim.
Filing a timely charge is a prerequisite to having an actionable claim. Nat l R.R. Passenger Corp.
v. Morgan, 536 U.S. 101, 120 (2002). A plaintiffmust file charges with the EEOC for either
discriminatory or retaliatory acts no later than 180 or 300 days after their occurrence. Id. at 122.
Untimely claims filed with the EEOC will be dismissed in court, even if related to timely retaliatory
or discriminatory EEOC charges filed in court. Id. at 113. In Morgan, the court argues that the

of Corr., 245 F.3d 1, 6 (1st Cir. 2001). Thus, if a plaintiff was retaliated against after filing an
EEOC charge, the standard is met. Id. Years later, the First circuit similarly held that a claim of
retaliation for filing an administrative charge with the EEOC is one of the narrow exceptions to
the normal rule of exhaustion of administrative remedies and may be bootstrapped to the charge
/s filed before. 514 F.3d at 86 87. The standard is met if a plaintiff files a charge with the EEOC
and then files a retaliatory claim with the court after receiving the right to sue letter on the first
charge. Id. However, the Eighth and Tenth circuits held that a plaintiff did not exhaust their
administrative remedies unless they filed a separate retaliation charge with the EEOC. E.g.
Richter v. Advance Auto Parts, Inc., 686 F.3d 847, 851 54 (8th Cir. 2012). Thus, there is a
circuit split on whether the rule from Morgan also applies to retaliatory acts that occur after filing
an EEOC charge. Id. The Court should follow the First and Fourth circuit holding. Whether the
retaliation occurs after filing an EEOC charge or is the culmination of retaliatory conduct alleged
already in a prior EEOC charge, a plaintiff should be excused from exhausting claims alleging
retaliation for the filling of a previous EEOC charge mostly because they would be expected to be
gun shy about incurring further retaliation after an additional EEOC charge. 551 F.3d at 302. The

Review of English Semester Essay
English 101 60 has taught me many things and has helped me grow and develop my skills as a
writer. It has taught me how to think more creatively and use clear concrete details. In the
beginning of the semester, our first writing assignment was a narrative journal entry that focused
on writing about an uninteresting moment from your life and making it interesting. This was a
challenging assignment because it was a broad topic that allowed the writers to take it in any
direction. I remember thinking I had no idea what I am going to write about. Once I was able to
narrow down the ideas I started writingwhat a traumatic experience I had six years ago. This was

length requirement because were all still in the beginning stages of the assignment. The
workshop group was a new experience for me because I have never worked with that many
person, this kind of overwhelmed me because there was so many opinion on one paper. The
groups weakness was, our lack of organization. Fortunately, we were able to make this up with
all of us being very truthful towards each other and not sugarcoating the revisions we suggested
among our papers. We all accomplished the beginning stages of writing our research papers and
making sure everyone had their thesis there. Over the semester I have been challenged and
intrigued over and over by the content of this course and the professor, who thought I could
develop a fairly strong paper if it was not for all my grammatical errors. It has been a very
enlightening and enthralling experience that has taught me a new way to write a paper. In high
school there was only one way to write and that was it. I think that this class is a great way for
students to think out of the box, rather than having to be stuck. It allows them to write more freely
about a subject, and I am very thankful for that. I have learned many new skills and improved the

Impact Of Overfishing On Marine Ecosystems And Human Culture
Introduction Overfishing occurs when fish are being caught faster than they can reproduce and
replace themselves (Lee and Safina, 1995, pg.5). It greatly affects biodiversity of marine
ecosystems and human culture.
Impacts of Overfishing Overfishing can impact marine ecosystems and communities that rely
heavily on marine mammals. Large reductions in population sizes of marketable fish species caught
yearly may significantly create economic stress within fishing communities, especially if they
mainly rely on fish for income or food, such as 3rd world countries. If marketable fish population
numbers drop too low fishermen and even whole communities may be forced to give up their way
of life, which has been passed down from generation to generation, and find jobs elsewhere
(Fisheries and Oceans Canada, 2009). Loss of income and jobs is caused from decreased
population sizes, which lower productive fish stocks, and results in business closures and lowered
economic status (Lee and Safina, 1995). Food security is also affected by overfishing. Many
coastal communities depend on fish as their main food source. When consumable fish populations
decrease the food supplies and food availability also decrease, resulting in shortages to occur and
fish becoming an unreliable source of food (World Wildlife Fund, 2016). Overfishing significantly
impacts biodiversity within ecosystems. Marine life imbalance is produced when fishing of top
predators disrupts communities within the

ABSTRACT
During the past two decades, the public health community s attention has been drawn increasingly
to the social determinants of health (SDH) the factors apart from medical care that can be
influenced by social policies and shape health in powerful ways. We use medical care rather than
health care to refer to clinical services, to avoid potential confusion between health and health care.
The World Health Organization s Commission on the Social Determinants of Health has defined

McKeown attributed the dramatic increases in life expectancy since the 19th century primarily to
improved living conditions, including nutrition, sanitation, and clean water.23 While advances in
medical care also may have contributed,23 26 most authors believe that nonmedical factors,
including conditions within the purview of traditional public health, were probably more
important;24 public health nursing, including its role in advocacy, may have played an important
role in improved living standards.27 Another example of the limits of medical care is the widening
of mortality disparities between social classes in the United Kingdom in the decades following the
creation of the National Health Service in
1948, which made medical care universally accessible.28
Using more recent data, Martinson found that although health overall was better in the United
Kingdom than in the United States, which lacks universal coverage, disparities in health by income
were similar in the two countries.29 Large inequalities in health according to social class have been
documented repeatedly across different European countries, again despite more universal access to
medical care.30 32
Another often cited example of the limits of medical care is the fact that, although spending on

Essay about Egyptian Funerary Practices
Egyptian Funerary Practices
Ancient Egyptian civilization was based on religion. Their belief in the rebirth after death became
their driving force behind their funeral practices. Death was simply a temporary interruption, rather
than an end to life, and that eternal life could be ensured by means of worship to the gods,
preservation of the physical form thru mummification, substantial ceremonies and detailed burial
policies and procedures. Even though many today have varying views of an afterlife, many of the
funerary practices that originated in Egypt can be seen in present day funeral services.
The Egyptians believed that the human soul used the first night after death to travel into the
afterlife. The body, which the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though we today do not invest the time, the amount of care given is still present.
The temples, pyramids, tombs, and religious artifacts left behind all tell us that the Ancient
Egyptians believed in the resurrection of the dead. Their belief in immortality was the
fundamental driving force behind their religion. The formulae which were declared to have
been recited during the performance of ceremonies were written down and copied for scores of
generations, and every pious, well to do Egyptian made arrangements that what had been done
and said on behalf of Osiris should be done and said for him outside and inside his tomb after his
death. (Liturgy of Funeral Offerings, pg.2) This illustrates just how important the ceremony and
the process was to the Egyptians. Their belief in the afterlife and the importance of the
ceremonial steps taken to get them there caused them great concern with their own funerals.
Today, everyone has an idea of what they would like to do for their own funeral as well. We may
follow in the same patterns as our family heritage has done for generations with either a traditional
funeral or cremation, or we may have a newer alternative in mind for our self. Even though we

Review own ability to motivate, delegate and empower others
For any business to be successful it needs motivated employees. They are the single most important
factor in the long term success of an organisation.
Empowerment refers to the employee s feeling of being effective, in control and influential.
Furthermore, empowerment positively impacts motivation, and motivation leads to better
performance.
Maslow s hierarchy of needs provides a foundational theory. It states that all employees have some
basic needs that must first be satisfied in order to provide the framework for further motivation and
empowerment.
There are five levels in the hierarchy: * Physiological needs * Safety and security needs * Love or

Herzberg showed that to truly motivate an employee a business needs to create conditions that
make him or her feel fulfilled in the workplace.
Delegation is one of the most important management skills as it empowers the team member to
make decisions. However, the person who delegated the work remains accountable for the outcome
of the delegated work.
Delegation can save money and time, help in building skills, and motivate people. Poor delegation,
on the other hand, might cause frustration and confusion to all the involved parties.
Tannenbaum amp; Schmidt defined 7 levels of delegated freedom which moves from manager
oriented to subordinate oriented. As the team develops, the area of freedom for the subordinate
increases and the need for the manager s intervention decreases.
Within my team I have tried to improve motivation through several initiatives:
One member of my team seemed to be becoming disillusioned with her role and so I spent some
time with her trying to establish the root cause of this.
Having asked several questions I established that she felt bored with her daily routine and wanted a

music s greatest artists. One of these artists was Bruce Springsteen, who has paved the way for the
rock genre since his 1975 album, Born to Run. While global issues continued at the hands of
politicians, no one quite captured the average Americans issues like Bruce Springsteens Born to Run
. Preformed and composed entirely by Springsteen, with primary producer Jon Landau and
incredible accompaniment by the wide range E Street Band, the album flawlessly depicted normal
Americans problems with the decaying American dream and crumbling ideals. Bruce Springsteen,
through insightful lyrics and instrumentation, successfully and emotionally showcased common
American ideals through his Born to Run album. Before his successful breakout album,
Springsteen endured the uncertain and unstable society created in the wake of World War II.
The United States, in the midst of Cold War tensions on a global scale, faced domestic
challenges as social reform movements protested for natural rights and American troop removal
from Vietnam ( Modern America ). On the musical side of American society, deaths of influential
artists, such as legendary rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix and blues singer Janis Joplin, and the
demise of the 1960s counterculture soured the entrance into the 1970s. Born in a struggling
working class New Jersey in late 1949, Springsteen observed the nature of blue collar life first
hand through his family, despite the increase of affluent, suburban life ( Springsteen s Born to Run
). These early life experiences influenced Springsteen s songwriting themes and provided an escape
through music. Although Springsteen had established his musical career before 1975, he had yet
to achieve commercial success ( Springsteen, Bruce ). Destined to become the next icon in the
rock genre, Columbia Records allowed Springsteen one final attempt to create a profitable record (
Springsteen, Bruce ). Joined by his E Street Band, which included keyboardists Roy Brittan and
Danny Federici, bassist Garry Tallent, backup guitarist Steven Van Zandt, drummer Max Weinberg,
and 1950 s R B influenced saxophonist Clarence Clemons, Springsteen set out to

Moving To Gondrin
I have a moved twice in my life, with the second and last being the toughest to handle. I began in
Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, where I was born in this world. Chagrin Falls, as a I
remember it, was a cold place, but not dreary. It was like a unexpected book, one you thought you
wouldn t even read, but eventually grow to love. As a three year old, I moved to Gondrin, a tiny
villagein France, where I spent my early childhood. Gondrin was different; bright, colorful, and
full of flowers. It was the epitome of a small village. My second and final move brought me to
Weddington, North Carolina, my home for the past eight years. When I moved to this new place, a
bustling and upcoming town, I was taken aback by the differences between it and my old home.
In France, everything was quiet and rural, while Weddington, despite not being a big city, was the
polar opposite. There were shops in France, while there were stores in Weddington. There were
fruit and vegetable stands in France, while there were supermarkets in Weddington. I do not seek to
condemn Weddington, as it was just vastly unfamiliar to my young brain. Living in France as I...

Banning Of Pit Bulldogs Essay
One of the most popular dogs owned by dog owners is the pit bulldog. They are said to have a
friendly temperament and is remarked for being attached to their owners. Pit bull dogs are good
pets, but they can cause severe problems if they are not trained correctly. Even with their friendly
attitude towards human, they are aggressive and defensive towards their territory. This tends to
threaten the society when considering how to control the pit bulls of mauling incidents. Pit

These bulldogs were described as friendly and kind by his neighbors, who undoubtedly were
shocked by the bestial actions of the dogs. Many people are outraged by this horrific behavior of
the dogs that unknowingly were a family dog to the boy. Some issues of this devastation had arisen
whether banning these attack dogs would be a good solution (Bulwa).
Over the past few years, pit bulldogs have been a great concern because of the dog mauling
incidents. In the San Francisco Chronicle, it revealed that Denver had passed laws to control
certain breeds in dogs to ensure the safety for the people. Canada as well took action. They
decided to ban the pit bulldogs in their province in August 2005. Hopefully, by banning the pit
bulldogs, there will be less dog mauling devastations in the neighborhood where many people live.
Dog mauling is quite common, but it is rarely seen that people are mauled to death by dogs. In
the statistics shown by CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), of the 199 dog attack
fatalities in the USA between 1979 and 1996, dogs identified as pit bulls were responsible for 60
attacks just under a third. Compared to the second most dangerous group were Rottweilers, which
were only responsible for 29 attacks. This had raised issues, causing a turbulent disturbance in the
public. Some jurisdictions were placed and questions about owning a pit bulldog were

Bad Credit History
Well, people think that if they have a bad credit history, then they are doomed for life. It might not
always be the case. Statistics say that almost 25% percent of American adults have bad credit and
yet they still get auto loans, although the interest rates might be higher than those who have great
credit scores. The question remains how? Well, if they can, so can you. All you ll have to do is
look around and find an auto loanprovider. You can use any auto loan finder and you ll surely get a
number of auto loan providers that will be happy to provide you a loan.

Opt for Credit Unions or car finance lenders. These small ventures might be able to help you more

Pay attention to the loan terms
And consider what role they might play in your life. Of course, you ll have to change your
lifestyle if you want to come up with the payments on time. Reflect if you are ready to do that or
not. Look for a loan that must be paid in the shortest possible time, since longer credit life would
also mean higher interest rates. So if your only way of repaying the debt is to take a long term loan;
then this, most probably, is not the right time to buy a car.

College Education Gap Analysis
Since the beginning of American history, there has always been a gap in achievement between the
Black and minority community versus their counterparts, the Whites. The difference between the
two groups was that of opportunities. Minorities in the United States were initially deprived of all
chances at prosperity, and Whites were born into a societal prosperity; an idea that Beverly Tatum
calls White Privilege. While it is important to acknowledge that the educational gap between
African American and White students has diminished in regards to college enrollment, it is
important to evaluate the differences between what affects certain races in attendance and

Tipping In Restaurants
Tipping is an expected behavior from individuals after a meal in a restaurant. However, not every
individual will leave a tip or will leave a tip that is smaller than what is expected. This is one thing
that restaurants want to change. Behaviors on tipping vary across cultures, it is a voluntary choice
in the United Statesbut a service charge is almost always included in a bill in Europe (Hessler,
1999). Restaurants have tried changing the tipping behavior of customers in many ways. One
method that has been implemented is including gratuity guidelines on the bill. These guidelines

Designing A 3d Model Of 3d
III.IS IT POSSIBLE TO VISUALIZE 4D?
Some believe that it is impossible for us to visualize 4D, since we are confined to 3D and therefore
cannot directly experience it. However, it is possible to develop a good idea of what 4D objects
look like: the key lies in the fact that to see N dimensions, one only needs an (N 1) dimensional
retina.
Even though we are 3D beings who live in a 3D world, our eyes actually only see in 2D. Our retina
has only a 2D surface area with which it can detect light coming into our eye. What our eye sees is
in fact not 3D, but a 2D projection of the 3D world we are looking at. Figure III : Projection of 2D
image
In spite of this, we are quite able to grasp the concept of 3D. Our mind is quite facile at re
constructing a 3D model of the world around us from the 2D images seen by our retina. It does
this by using indirect information in the 2D images such as light and shade, parallax, and previous
experience. Even though our retina doesn t actually see 3D depth, we instinctively infer it. We
have a very good intuitive grasp of what 3D is, to the point that we are normally quite unconscious
of the fact we re only seeing in 2D.
Similarly, a hypothetical 4D being would have a 3D retina, and would see the 4D world as 3D
projections. Figure IV: Projection of 3D image
It would not directly see the 4th dimension, but would infer it using indirect information such as
light and shade, parallax, and previous experience.
The key here is that what the 4D

Causes of manic depression seem to be rooted in the genes. Studies used on identical twin show

With fraternal twins its only a 15% chance that the other will have bipolar disorder.
Bipolar disorder seems to run in families. Personal or work related stress can trigger a manic

Some people enjoy the sensations and energies that accompany manic episodes. It is proven that

Cezanne applied his paint in thick layers with broad, discrete, and methodical brushstrokes,
remaining true to the architectural ideal that every portion of the canvas must contribute to the
structural integrity of the painting. With each brushstroke, Cezanne was constructing a picture as
apposed to painting it (Paul CГ©zanne Biography). In contrast, Monet used a single color, applying
it, using a bold, flat and evenly loaded brush. This technique is called tache, a French word for
blot. This technique moved paintings away from the blending of colors on the canvas, and led to
the application of different colors to represent the ripples across water and how the light falls on
the subject, as seen in Monet s painting On the Bank of the Seine ( Brushwork ). Alternatively,
Thomas Cole came from the Hudson River School where he learned to render crisply defined
forms in paint. He avoided painterly flourishes that called attention to his techniques. He used a thin

ngels are known to be messengers of God, often depicted to be winged creatures. These
supernatural beings are believed widely in many religions, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam,

Personal Learning Environment Essay
INTRODUCTION
Today there is clearly a focus on raising standards and improving the performance of all students,
including personalized learning. Personal Learning Environments give students ownership of their
learning experience encouraging them to embrace educational goals, opportunities and activities.
Students are as different as the diverse ways in which they learn. The traditional ways of learning
where the class is teacher directed is steadily changing to a more students centered environment
where students can flourish. Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) are systems that are devised
to encourage learners to take control of and manage their own learning. A Personal Learning
Environment (PLE) describes the tools, communities, and services that constitute the individual
educational platforms learners use to direct their own learning and pursue educational goals.
Differentiation is a way of teaching; it s not a program or package of worksheets. It asks teachers to
know their students well so they can provide each one with experiences and tasks that will improve
learning. A PLE is frequently contrasted with a learning management system in that an LMS tends
to be centralized on the coursework, whereas a PLE is centralized on the learner. At the same time,
a PLE may or may not intersect with an institutional LMS, and individuals might integrate
components of an LMS into the educational environments that they construct for themselves. A
typical PLE, for example, might

This approach would greatly benefit people that are already under some type of government
healthcare because the government would find the best companies to work with in order to
provide all types of care from a routine visit to hospice. These companies would then charge the
government only for the services provided. This is where there is a big problem. Right now
pricing for most of American health care comes from a small group of doctors called the
Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee or RUC (Munro, 2013). This is
problematic because this committee is deciding the prices rather than the actual cost of
products. If this process was changed then people could use rationalization to determine that a
government ran universal healthcare system would be in the best self interest. Healthcare
Committee Committees are very important in improving and discussing ways to improve
healthcare in America. There are many different types of committees that would be assembled,
but the most important one would be one to replace the RUC. An example of what is wrong
with the RUC is demonstrated in a balloon needed for sinus surgery. The balloon itself costs 2,600
dollars to be made. The RUC priced it at 3,000 dollars for each procedure. This balloon can be used

Blast! Head shot! That guy was pulverized! These are only a few samples of the dialog talked
between kids who play games such as like Call of Duty or Halo . In today s age, kids frequently
boast about the quantity of players they figured out how to kill while playing these video games.
Two decades ago, this would not be the typical waste of time of an eleven year old, yet now kids
are seeing this kind of brutal movement as simply one more approach to take a break on a
Saturday morning. Since the video gamemarket is blasting at this moment because of progressive
gaming systems like the Wii, Playstation, and Xbox, this issue is turning out to be more serious;
parents should be mindful of and strongly advised about the reasons why violent video games could
hurt their children. Despite the fact that the violencein these video games is fictional, the essential
ideas driving the savagery have been demonstrated to prompt more aggressive behavior in
developing children. Violent video games instruct youngsters that brutality is acceptable and fun at
the same time, have been demonstrated to prompt forceful practices in kids, furthermore desensitize
kids. The brutal demonstrations portrayed in video games are transforming the psyches of youthful
kids, permitting them to imagine that firearm violence and executing is a recreational activity.
Regardless of the possibility that parents needed to stay away from the violent video games and
plan to buy an alternate genre, it would

Impact Of The American Broadcasting On The North Coast Of...
A triad of earthquakes has unexpectedly shaken the area of the notorious ring of fire much to the
horror of Ecuadorian and Japanese citizens suffering from their unfortunate consequences. This
was put into perspective by an early Sunday morning television program on the American
Broadcasting Company (ABC), This Week, displayed a live segment on April 18, 2016, that
presented a breakdown on the recent earthquakes that hit Equator and Japan in the past few days.
Equator was granted a closer look seeing as it was challenged by an severe 7.8 magnitude

Accordingly, Equator was shaking in its knees by the shock of a great earthquake that demolished
entire city blocks with caved in homes trapping many people inside of them leading to the

Summary Of The Night Odyssey
Lost It was the summer of 1998; I was pregnant with my second child, when my two year old
son, my husband, my brother Vladimir, his girlfriend Nicole, two other couples and I went on
vacation to Brittany, France. Usually, I spent the summer in Serbia with my two grandmas and
the rest of the family. But this year, we decided to go another time to visit them. I never thought
this would be one of my most regretted decisions I have ever made. I cannot remember the name
of the place where we stayed for two weeks. The only thing I do remember is our night odyssey
in Paris, how we weren t able to find the way out through the maze tunnels to the highway which
was supposed to lead us to the no name village in Brittany. Eventually, around midday, we arrived
at our house. As we were the only ones with a child, the rest of the group treated my son like an
alien whose task was to turn the nightly rest upside down, so the banned us to the only bedroom in
the first floor. In hindsight, it was the best room of the whole house, due to the heat which
emanated at night heavily from the attic rooms and made breathing difficult. The area was
beautiful, green hills everywhere; the few houses looked like they were put into the lush meadows
by a creative behemoth. Although you could not see the ocean, the constant blowing wind carried
the salty, fishy smell to your house. The fleecy clouds alternated with the sunshine I a two day
cycle. So we went sightseeing on the cloudy days, on the other, to

The Role Of Women In The Femme Fatale
For example, Larry chose Suzanne out of all the women in the bar. As he was seen looking from
woman to woman, but stopped and smiled at Suzanne as soon as he saw her. She is also desired
by the TV guy when he is presenting his speech he is seen stopping and admiring Suzanne, and
later rubbing her leg under the table. She is also the key desire of James, who kills her husband
for her and takes the blame. Given that, Suzanne uses her looks (sexuality) to gain the attention
and control of men seen within the film. She uses sex and love to gain the influence of men, and
get them to do whatever she wants (dirty work). In fact, she gets the attention of James and then
has sex with him in order to win his love and get him to murder Larry. She is able to manipulate
men, and get them to do anything she wants. She recognizes the function that women serve in
narrative and exploits it to disguise her own plotting (Week Ten Recap: The Femme Fatale).
Correspondingly, Suzanne is best understood as a gender critic. She understands that gender
requires us to perform or act dichotomously. Suzanne knows how to be feminine, and acts feminine
when it suits her purposes, often directing her actions at the men around her. Acknowledging them,
she is able to appeal to their interest and grab their attention and pretty much take over their minds.
Suzanne uses her femininity as an act, and uses her seductive ways in order to arouse the men
within her life (Week Ten Recap: The Femme Fatale). For

Then the movie focused on the question what did really happen to the dinosaurs? Sixty five
million years ago, a six mile wide asteroid hurtling through space at 15 kilometers per second
slammed into what is now Mexico s Yucatan Peninsula at a site known as Chicxulub. The impact
had left a crater 110 to 170 miles in diameter buried nearly a kilometer underground and sparked
massive volumes of ash into Earth s atmosphere. This impact is believed to end the existence of
the dinosaur and paved the way for the rise of mammals and other species which is now in
existence. Scientists have identified 139 impact craters scattered over the surface of the Earth as a
result of the main impact. The collision was so catastrophic and enriched dust high into the
atmosphere, shutting off sunlight for weeks or months and cooling the planet. Acid rain and
wildfires also followed the collision, many plants died, as did many of the animals that ate them
including the dinosaurs. Then the movie was focus on the questions, could such a collision happen
again? and is there anything we can do to prevent another major collision if imminent? Although
there are many asteroids that strike the Earth everyday, their size and impacts are very small which
goes unnoticed in most cases. Some of the asteroids even burns off in the atmosphere before it
strike the Earth s surface. But the crater in the Northern Arizona is one of crater that has attracted us

Examples Of The Villain In The Hobbit
Smaug the Smug Dragon
There are many types of villains; the cunning, the crazy, the prideful and even the heroic villain,
but there is also the standard villain. Smaug the dragon is the antagonist in The Hobbit and he is a
standard villain; a stereotypical one, but even he has some certain traits that differentiate him from
the basic villains. He is terrible, merciless and evil, with only one weakness, isolated in his castle
full of gold.
Villain are mostly portrayed as big and powerful, making them in no need of anyone s help, and
Smaug is so. A vast red golden dragon with a huge coiled tail Smaug was described as, showing
that he could easily crush living beings and destroy houses (Tolkien 233). Smaug lay, with wings

Smaug the dragon is very good in his role as the main villain with no warmth in his dark heart, as
he never even doubts himself when attacking Lake Town without thought and sneaking up on
Bilbo and the dwarves, trying to crush them beneath the mountain rocks, nor does he regret what
he did to the old citizens of Dale. However it would also be appreciated if he would have had a
chance to become good, whether he would accept the chance or not would be up to the author. If
he were to decline the chance, it would only strengthen the idea of his purely evil nature. If he
were to accept it, it would teach a lesson to the audience that no matter how bad someone is or
how many bad things they have done, one can always change. However, Smaug was a most

Analysis Of The Short Story Arafat Ta Bir Cocuk
The short story, Arafat ta Bir Г‡ocuk , has two protagonist characters who are mainly children
living in a foreign country. Yilmaz is one of them. He is the other of the society in which people
generally adopt certain kinds of belief, they have certain cultural values; therefore, there is no
room for others and these others are side lined in every activity in social life. Hence, the effect of
being room less on the character, YД±lmaz, in a society he does not belong to sometimes
reaches a serious point because of the religious, ethnic, cultural features of the society and the
fact that the people living in it are not open to another face of world. Religion is the most
important factor that affects YД±lmaz s place on society profoundly and makes him feel as an
other and, it does cause him to take serious action against local inhabitants of the country. Yilmaz
is a Muslim; however, the country he lives in is Christian and there are some crucial differences
between them which render YД±lmaz unnatural to the society and marginal. Ethnic and cultural
differences between YД±lmaz and local inhabitants also play a great role in badly construction of
YД±lmaz s psychological state. The two great dominant pictures of the world, Orient (East) and
Occident (West), are always in clash in the story. Yilmaz is an Oriental figure in Occidental area;
hence, his oriental possessions are cumbersome burdens on his shoulders in every part of life. One

Odysseus Leader Analysis
Odysseus is a good leader because he is courageous, intelligent and has a lot of self confidence. As
a courageous man, he has no fear and becomes the most powerful character. For intelligence, he
know when to be polite which makes him an intelligent guy. Also, his self confidence showed his
companions that he is a true leader among other heroic members that Odysseusworked with. To
start with, Odysseus is courageous leader who helps his companions get out of scariest and life
threatening situations. For example, in the Circe s island when Eurylokhos, shipmate of
Odysseus, warns him to leave other shipmates and run away from his island, Not back there, O
my lord! You even you cannot return, I know you cannot bring away our shipmates. (Book 10,
line 292), but Odysseus ignores him and goes into the Circe s house. Then, Odysseus directly
faces Circe, Without a word, I drew my sword and in one bound held it against her throat. (Book
10, line 361), with his threatening sword, and successes to make his shipmates to their original
human form. Also, when Cyclopes called, Polyphemus, caught Odysseus and his shipmates to eat

to this, now, the Seirenes will sing his mind away, ahead are beetling rocks... (Book 11, line 46),
and tried his best to make his crew survive. In addition, In Helios s Island, Odysseus warned his
crews not to eat the cattle, because if they eat these cattle, which belongs to Helios, he will get mad
and try to kill his crew. For evidence, No sooner had I caught sight of our black hull, grief took
hold of me... O cruel drowsing, in the evil hour! (Book 11, line 471) This clause shows how

  • 2. The Cave Allegory We experience reality through our five senses; sight, touch, smell, taste, and hearing. These provide us with the ability to experience reality. But with illusion, we use our imagination. The Cave Allegory talks about imagining a cave full of imprisoned people since their birth, facing a blank wall. The prisoners watch shadows of objects passing in front of a fire that is behind them and gives names to these shadows. Now since these people have been chained to the wall all of their lives, the shadows are their reality. Once broken free from the chains, the prisoners are able to see the objects for what they are and discover that their reality was not really what they thought. The Matrix is about heroes fighting against sentient machines that try to control the human population because their bodies are used as an energy source. The main character Neo, is a computer programmer and he is drawn into war against the machines. The Matrix is a imitation that creates a false world where people are prisoners from reality, much like Platos Allegory of the Cave. Some say that hip hop is a dream while others say it is an illusion. I believe... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It makes the listener dream about having cars, money, and fame when they get older. Some artist give unrealistic dreams to their audience (mainly youth) through their lyrics. The lyrics glorify being a gangster, drugs, and having multiple girls at one time. In America, young boys take an interest in these things and this becomes their dream or goal. These youth gravitates towards what the artist puts out and then believes that they can accomplish what the artist has accomplished and/or get what the artists already has. • 3. A Brief Note On Asp.net And Cloud Computing Essay ASP.NET Cloud Computing A research report Prepared for: Tony Assadi IT7x11 Advanced Internet Application Development Whitireia Community Polytechnic, Porirua Prepared by: Maen Terawasi Student ID: 21103436 Date Submitted: 10 April 2015 Executive Summary The ASP.NET Framework offers a development environment that comes with various tools and technologies that aid developers in building enterprise class web services, websites, and web apps. Along with this ASP.NET is part of the Microsoft .NET Framework which gives the ability to utilize classes within the .NET Framework. With the implementation of Cloud computing platforms and ASP.NET the benefits offered by combining the two proves to be significant in terms of cutting down costs, management, maintenance, and the need for resources since most cloud providers are already providing SaaS (software as a service), PaaS (platform as a service), and IaaS (infrastructure as a service) altogether. However demand to move onto the cloud is substantially increasing resulting in the massive surge of cloud providers coming into existence. With various cloud provider competitors out there Windows Azure which is a Microsoft cloud platform is one of the more notable cloud providers when it comes to ASP.NET applications and services over the web. Introduction The main objective of this research report is to present and critically answer questions that have been designed specifically to look at ASP.NET ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Usually the linear energy transfer (LET) is expressed in units of KeVВµm 1 in water. The conversion of units between KeVВµm 1 and MeVcm 1 is 1 KeVВµm 1 = 10MeV cm 1.1 The variation in stopping power value with energy for protons. A heavy charged particle traversing matter loses energy mainly through the ionization and excitation of atom. A heavy charged particle can transfer a very small fraction of its energy in an electronic collision (inelastic collision) and loses energy continuously along its path at the linear rate. 1 The energy loss by charged particles in a medium is called the stopping power or linear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As protons move through liquid water, they ionize or excite atoms or molecules of the matter (water) and deposit a dose or energy along their path. If a charged particle has a greater energy and moving faster, it has a lower tendency to lose energy along its path in per unit path length.5 Similarly, at higher energy, protons move relatively faster and thus ionize and excite fewer molecules, therefore, its stopping power is lower.5 However, as their energy decrease, protons transfer more energy to the medium and the stopping power would be higher as shown in Figure 1. Consequently, the stopping power or LET depends on its energy.5 The energy loss increases towards the end of the range, reaches a maximum, which is called the Bragg peak, and abruptly drop to zero before the protons stop. The Bragg peak occurs because the interaction cross section of the medium increases as the proton s energy decreases.1, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Comparison And Contrast Of Art Comparison and Contrast of Art Art is able to transport its viewer through time and connect us as a community. Audiences are able to infer the content and context of the artwork. Art displayed through different mediums and about different topics can share many similarities and draw connections between one another. Exodus, created by Shelby Lechman (2015), uses oil paint on canvas to depict a young boy and father in a train car, leaving their home in Hungary during the time of the Hungarian Revolution (fig.1). Back into the Earth: Creation and the Interpretation of Meaning, created by Tamara Himmelspach (2015) is a series of 11 prints and a physical dress displaying the designer in a jingle dress representing the traditions of the Ojibwa culture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, further connection in context and content can be developed when analyzing the connection of the works roots and art in history. Exodus exhibits the reality of human suffering as a result of war and oppression during the Hungarian Revolution. The historical relevance of this work dives into a deeper significance than its basic face value. The oppression and struggle for power signified in Exodus also translates into Figure 2. Both cultures, in their own time have faced their traditions and way of life being threatened. As Hungarian citizens are forced to leave their country, Ojibwa members were constantly threatened by European immigrants. The human experience is key in understanding and studying art. Besides the main styles and usage in appearance, the connection to a point in time and the influence of that time allows the audience to connect with the artist and the characteristics of the artwork. Audiences are able to connect past themes to present day issues, such as the difficulties facing many Syrian refugees and the numerous Native American women who have gone missing. The importance of home and culture is evident in both works despite their different purposes and artistic modes. Limits are explored and barriers of past, present are future are removed when audiences are able to interpret the work from any point in time and understand the significance of its visual and non visual means. ... • 11. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities has several recurring themes, including the failure of the French Revolution. In the book, the peasants defeated the aristocrats by imprisoning and murdering them. Although many of the imprisonments and executions were unjust, the peasants had gain complete power. The peasants revolution did not end the tyranny that existed with the aristocrats ruling, but created a new tyranny with lack of justice and mercy. Dickens uses the evil Monsieur the Marquis to represent the tyrannical French aristocracy. The Marquis recklessly runs over and kills a peasant child. Dickens shows his lack of any sympathy and mercy for the peasants at this scene by stating, Monsieur the Marquis ran his eyes over them all, as if they had been mere rats come out of their holes. He thinks of the peasants as nothing more than rats as do the entire French aristocracy. However, the revolution does not result in any positive change. After the peasants obtained power, they have the same lack of sympathy and mercy toward the aristocracy or enemies of the Republic. In Lucie s conversation with the Wood Sawyer, we see he is no better than Monsieur the Marquis, as he takes joy in the execution of aristocrat children. I call myself the Samson of the firewood guillotine. See here again! Loo, loo, loo; Loo, loo, loo! And off HER head comes! Now, a child. Tickle, tickle; Pickle, pickle! And off ITS head comes. So, with the size of the Japanese fleet and the fact that they got off with the attack first lead them to sink one of the Allied carriers. But also with the amount of damage the Japanese fleet took, the Allied forces used that to push harder and win battles against the naval fleets of Japan. So on the grand scale of things this battle was a Japanese tactical victory, but later to prove that it was an American strategic victory. Thus, if a plaintiff was retaliated against after filing an EEOC charge, the standard is met. Id. Years later, the First circuit similarly held that a claim of retaliation for filing an administrative charge with the EEOC is one of the narrow exceptions to the normal rule of exhaustion of administrative remedies and may be bootstrapped to the charge /s filed before. 514 F.3d at 86 87. The standard is met if a plaintiff files a charge with the EEOC and then files a retaliatory claim with the court after receiving the right to sue letter on the first charge. Id. However, the Eighth and Tenth circuits held that a plaintiff did not exhaust their administrative remedies unless they filed a separate retaliation charge with the EEOC. E.g. Richter v. Advance Auto Parts, Inc., 686 F.3d 847, 851 54 (8th Cir. 2012). Thus, there is a circuit split on whether the rule from Morgan also applies to retaliatory acts that occur after filing an EEOC charge. Id. The Court should follow the First and Fourth circuit holding. Whether the retaliation occurs after filing an EEOC charge or is the culmination of retaliatory conduct alleged already in a prior EEOC charge, a plaintiff should be excused from exhausting claims alleging retaliation for the filling of a previous EEOC charge mostly because they would be expected to be gun shy about incurring further retaliation after an additional EEOC charge. 551 F.3d at 302. The groups weakness was, our lack of organization. Fortunately, we were able to make this up with all of us being very truthful towards each other and not sugarcoating the revisions we suggested among our papers. • 17. Impact Of Overfishing On Marine Ecosystems And Human Culture Introduction Overfishing occurs when fish are being caught faster than they can reproduce and replace themselves (Lee and Safina, 1995, pg.5). It greatly affects biodiversity of marine ecosystems and human culture. Impacts of Overfishing Overfishing can impact marine ecosystems and communities that rely heavily on marine mammals. Large reductions in population sizes of marketable fish species caught yearly may significantly create economic stress within fishing communities, especially if they mainly rely on fish for income or food, such as 3rd world countries. If marketable fish population numbers drop too low fishermen and even whole communities may be forced to give up their way of life, which has been passed down from generation to generation, and find jobs elsewhere (Fisheries and Oceans Canada, 2009). Loss of income and jobs is caused from decreased population sizes, which lower productive fish stocks, and results in business closures and lowered economic status (Lee and Safina, 1995). Food security is also affected by overfishing. Many coastal communities depend on fish as their main food source. When consumable fish populations decrease the food supplies and food availability also decrease, resulting in shortages to occur and fish becoming an unreliable source of food (World Wildlife Fund, 2016). Overfishing significantly impacts biodiversity within ecosystems. Marine life imbalance is produced when fishing of top predators disrupts communities within the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their belief in the rebirth after death became their driving force behind their funeral practices. (Liturgy of Funeral Offerings, pg.2) This illustrates just how important the ceremony and the process was to the Egyptians. Their belief in the afterlife and the importance of the ceremonial steps taken to get them there caused them great concern with their own funerals. Today, everyone has an idea of what they would like to do for their own funeral as well. They are the single most important factor in the long term success of an organisation. Empowerment refers to the employee s feeling of being effective, in control and influential. Furthermore, empowerment positively impacts motivation, and motivation leads to better performance. Maslow s hierarchy of needs provides a foundational theory. It states that all employees have some basic needs that must first be satisfied in order to provide the framework for further motivation and empowerment. Herzberg showed that to truly motivate an employee a business needs to create conditions that make him or her feel fulfilled in the workplace. Delegation is one of the most important management skills as it empowers the team member to make decisions. However, the person who delegated the work remains accountable for the outcome of the delegated work. Delegation can save money and time, help in building skills, and motivate people. Poor delegation, on the other hand, might cause frustration and confusion to all the involved parties. Tannenbaum amp; Schmidt defined 7 levels of delegated freedom which moves from manager oriented to subordinate oriented. As the team develops, the area of freedom for the subordinate increases and the need for the manager s intervention decreases. Within my team I have tried to improve motivation through several initiatives: One member of my team seemed to be becoming disillusioned with her role and so I spent some time with her trying to establish the root cause of this. • 21. Summary Of Bruce Springsteen s Born To Run The 1970 s, filled with unraveling American society and global uncertainty, spawned many of music s greatest artists. One of these artists was Bruce Springsteen, who has paved the way for the rock genre since his 1975 album, Born to Run. While global issues continued at the hands of politicians, no one quite captured the average Americans issues like Bruce Springsteens Born to Run . Preformed and composed entirely by Springsteen, with primary producer Jon Landau and incredible accompaniment by the wide range E Street Band, the album flawlessly depicted normal Americans problems with the decaying American dream and crumbling ideals. Bruce Springsteen, through insightful lyrics and instrumentation, successfully and emotionally showcased common American ideals through his Born to Run album. Before his successful breakout album, Springsteen endured the uncertain and unstable society created in the wake of World War II. The United States, in the midst of Cold War tensions on a global scale, faced domestic challenges as social reform movements protested for natural rights and American troop removal from Vietnam ( Modern America ). On the musical side of American society, deaths of influential artists, such as legendary rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix and blues singer Janis Joplin, and the demise of the 1960s counterculture soured the entrance into the 1970s. Born in a struggling working class New Jersey in late 1949, Springsteen observed the nature of blue collar life first hand through his family, despite the increase of affluent, suburban life ( Springsteen s Born to Run ). These early life experiences influenced Springsteen s songwriting themes and provided an escape through music. Although Springsteen had established his musical career before 1975, he had yet to achieve commercial success ( Springsteen, Bruce ). Destined to become the next icon in the rock genre, Columbia Records allowed Springsteen one final attempt to create a profitable record ( Springsteen, Bruce ). Joined by his E Street Band, which included keyboardists Roy Brittan and Danny Federici, bassist Garry Tallent, backup guitarist Steven Van Zandt, drummer Max Weinberg, and 1950 s R B influenced saxophonist Clarence Clemons, Springsteen set out to ... I began in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, where I was born in this world. Chagrin Falls, as a I remember it, was a cold place, but not dreary. It was like a unexpected book, one you thought you wouldn t even read, but eventually grow to love. As a three year old, I moved to Gondrin, a tiny villagein France, where I spent my early childhood. Gondrin was different; bright, colorful, and full of flowers. It was the epitome of a small village. My second and final move brought me to Weddington, North Carolina, my home for the past eight years. When I moved to this new place, a bustling and upcoming town, I was taken aback by the differences between it and my old home. In France, everything was quiet and rural, while Weddington, despite not being a big city, was the polar opposite. There were shops in France, while there were stores in Weddington. Some believe that it is impossible for us to visualize 4D, since we are confined to 3D and therefore cannot directly experience it. However, it is possible to develop a good idea of what 4D objects look like: the key lies in the fact that to see N dimensions, one only needs an (N 1) dimensional retina. Even though we are 3D beings who live in a 3D world, our eyes actually only see in 2D. Our retina has only a 2D surface area with which it can detect light coming into our eye. What our eye sees is in fact not 3D, but a 2D projection of the 3D world we are looking at. Figure III : Projection of 2D image In spite of this, we are quite able to grasp the concept of 3D. Our mind is quite facile at re constructing a 3D model of the world around us from the 2D images seen by our retina. It does this by using indirect information in the 2D images such as light and shade, parallax, and previous experience. Even though our retina doesn t actually see 3D depth, we instinctively infer it. We have a very good intuitive grasp of what 3D is, to the point that we are normally quite unconscious of the fact we re only seeing in 2D. Similarly, a hypothetical 4D being would have a 3D retina, and would see the 4D world as 3D projections. The traditional ways of learning where the class is teacher directed is steadily changing to a more students centered environment where students can flourish. Right now pricing for most of American health care comes from a small group of doctors called the Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee or RUC (Munro, 2013). • 47. Summary Of The Night Odyssey Lost It was the summer of 1998; I was pregnant with my second child, when my two year old son, my husband, my brother Vladimir, his girlfriend Nicole, two other couples and I went on vacation to Brittany, France. Usually, I spent the summer in Serbia with my two grandmas and the rest of the family. But this year, we decided to go another time to visit them. I never thought this would be one of my most regretted decisions I have ever made. I cannot remember the name of the place where we stayed for two weeks. The only thing I do remember is our night odyssey in Paris, how we weren t able to find the way out through the maze tunnels to the highway which was supposed to lead us to the no name village in Brittany. Eventually, around midday, we arrived at our house. As we were the only ones with a child, the rest of the group treated my son like an alien whose task was to turn the nightly rest upside down, so the banned us to the only bedroom in the first floor. In hindsight, it was the best room of the whole house, due to the heat which emanated at night heavily from the attic rooms and made breathing difficult. The area was beautiful, green hills everywhere; the few houses looked like they were put into the lush meadows by a creative behemoth. Although you could not see the ocean, the constant blowing wind carried the salty, fishy smell to your house. The fleecy clouds alternated with the sunshine I a two day cycle. Correspondingly, Suzanne is best understood as a gender critic. She understands that gender requires us to perform or act dichotomously. Suzanne knows how to be feminine, and acts feminine when it suits her purposes, often directing her actions at the men around her.
