Northern Gateway Pipeline
Imagine yourself looking across a river, filled with birds, deer and a beaver. These animals are at
peace and you are at peace with the ultimate certainty that all things will be right, healthy, and
indestructible. Until the Northern Gateway Pipeline is built directly through the lake, disrupting
not only you, but the environment, habitat and ecosystem.
The Northern Gateway Project is a major pipeline proposed to carry crude oil from the Alberta Oil
Sands to Kitimat British Columbia. It will provide temporary jobs for 62,700 people for 10 years
and will leave 1,150 long term jobs after the pipeline is built. Although this is a positive ... Show

Some stakeholders in the Northern Gateway Project would counter with defending the Enbridge as
they plan on using thicker pipe and horizontal drilling to bore beneath 30 rivers, instead of passing
through them. Though they are changing their pipe sizes and thickness, this new material is being
used for the first time and could potentially become a disaster if the pipe breaks and leaves over the
ocean, rivers and/or environments. (5) As stated throughout this piece, First Nations people and
their land is in danger if the Northern Gateway Pipeline is built. If given a larger amount of
money, the Coastal First Nations would be capable of defending their lands and reviewing the
Enbridge plans. Unfortunately this has not happened and all we can do is hope for the best.

Online BSN to DNP Programs: A Solution for the High Level Talent Shortage
In the United States, more than 58 million citizens live in areas that are classified as primary
care shortage areas. These regions, official labeled Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs),
fail to maintain a sufficient talent pool of primary care providers as outlined by federal
guidelines. According to a report issued by the Kaiser Foundation, Advanced Practice Nurses
(APNs) have the potential to fill this void. As of 2012, approximately 127,000 APNs deliver
treatment in the country and 60,400 of those practitioners server as primary care providers (PCPs).
Although these professionals can serve as a viable solution to the care shortage in the United States,

Analysis Of Chaim Potok s The Chosen, Verbal...
Since the beginning of time, humans have endeavored to express their thoughts to other humans.
Early on, humans may have expressed their thoughts through only body language and primitive
grunts; however, as civilization progressed, humans developed intelligible language. From
development of that early language, written language was sprouted. From some development of
that written language, other forms of communication came into being. Today, many forms of
communication exist; however, all of them center around verbal communication. In Chaim
Potok s critically acclaimed novel, The Chosen, verbal communication, or the lack thereof, is a
main theme. The lack of communication, silence, in The Chosen is used by Potok not only to
show the suffering of his characters but also to symbolize the struggles of the Jewish people.
Potok uses silence prominently in The Chosen to show isolation. Both of the protagonists in the
book experience an isolating silence; for example, the silence imposed upon Danny is a main
component of the novel s plot. Danny s pain and isolation is caused by his father s silence toward
him. Reb Saunders, Danny s father, doesn t speak with Danny because he believes that being
silent toward Danny is what is best for him; however, the other characters of the book see only that
the silence causes Danny suffering. Reb s silence toward Danny would seem cruel in a normal
situation, but in Danny s situation, it seems to be atrocious. In the forties, being a Jew

Defusing the Conflict in Northern Ireland
It seems that all, throughout history, Protestants and Catholics are always butting heads. Tensions
were particularly high between Ireland and Britain with Ireland being Catholic and Britain
Protestant. This religious discrepancy had a real effect on the Irish people, interfering with their
Catholic tradition. The Irish people had longed for independence from the British for a long time;
but, Britain really managed to agitate the Irish when they sent settlers from Britain and Scotland to
settle in Northern Ireland. This agitation eventually grew into the Northern IrelandWar, as the
Protestants began to take control. If the Protestants had just settled into Northern Ireland and went
about their life, there may have never been a war. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and it leaves the Catholic people with nothing. The Catholics also wanted full independence
because they felt that the Protestants were affecting their identity, and they were afraid of losing it.
One can see that that Irish united to fight for their cultural identity which was slowly being melded
with the Protestant culture. Through the loss of the education system, they were losing their
religious tradition. There were no more churches, and slowly their faith was becoming less
connected to the people. By removing the identity of the Irish Catholics and influencing their
culture directly and indirectly they are angering the Catholics, provoking rebellions.
It was not the Irish Catholic identity that was being lost, through the restriction enforced on them
they were also losing their political stature. They lost the power to have any say in the running of

Literature Is The Mirror Of Life
Literature can be defined in innumerable ways. Any written or spoken material is literature.
Literature is works of creative thoughts and literary skill. Drama, poetry, short stories, fiction and
non fiction are all forms of literature. Moreover, literature is believed to be the message of a writer
s experience of life. Literature is creatively advanced and of lasting quality. Most importantly,
literature is the mirror of life. It helps us to understand those things that are not easily understood
and comprehended that includes pain, hatred, love, death, war, sacrifice, humannature, and more
surprisingly truth. Furthermore, it helps us to understand the power of language.
The famous pioneers of English literature are; the Greek Philosopher Plato, Aristotle and Sir Phillip
Sydney.
According to the famous pioneer of literature, Plato sums it up as:
Literature is the mere imitation of life .
There is high correlation between literature and real life. Life gives the means through which
literature develops in an artistic form. Plato was the first one to give the thought of literature in
relation to the real world. Although, he referred mainly to poetry but what he has said about poetry
can be easily applied to whole literature. Plato s findings are built on his theory of knowledge.
Thus, Literature does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Poem Riptide By Vance Joy
Riptide, by Vance Joy, is filled with metaphors, which tell the tale of someone they love running
towards danger. Vance Joy writes indie folk music, a mix between traditional folk, country, and
rock music. This song can be used as entertainment and as human expression. The reason I find
this song comfortable is due to the memories and feelings that I associate to the song. This piece
is comfortable to me by reminding me of a more uncomfortable and nervous time in my life. I
spent a semester in Denmark going to an immersion school. I remember the feeling of being in a
new culture, being very confused, and very far outside my comfort zone. I think of riding on
trains and watching everything fly by because that was what I was doing while listening to this
song. Vance Joy was born in 1987, and raised in Melbourne, Australia as James Keough. He
found his stage name in a book by a famous Australian author, Peter Carey. Before his career in
music, Vance Joy played Football in the Victorian Football League, and won an award for best
first player in 2008. He attended Melbourne s Monash University and received a Bachelor of
Arts and Bachelor of Laws degree. Since then, he has released an EP in 2013, and a year later
debuted his first album. Riptide was the result of Vance Joy s stream of conscious. He started
writing the song in 2008 but didn t complete more than two lines. Four years later, he picked up
where he left off, and the chords and lyrics came to him easily. This

Insanity In Edgar Allan Poe s The Tell Tale Heart
Insanity is not always seen directly from the outside. Edgar Allan Poe once said, I became
insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity. Someone may appear normal, but no one can read
someone else s mind when it comes to mental health. In Edgar Allan Poe s short story The Tell
Tale Heart, the narrator strives to support his lucidity after murdering the old man under his care.
Although he repeatedly claims that he is logical and acts with sagacity, the narrator s noetic
process and behaviors indicate he actually is insane. The narrator s lack of reason and auditory
hallucinations provide proof of his dementia. To begin with, the narrator s lack of reason for his
groundless actions provides evidence for his insanity, contradicting the belief that he is
mentally stable. The narrator had no rational reason to murder the old man. For example, the
narrator stated Object there was none. Passion there was none. I loved the old man. He had
never wronged me. He had never given me insult (p 1). Therefore, the old man had never done
anything to harm the narrator, nor had he ever wronged him in any way. The only reason the
narrator killed the old man was because he was deranged in multiple ways; one of his significant
reasons however, was because he felt the old man s eye was threatening. Moreover, he says
Whenever it [the eye] fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees very gradually I made up
my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the

Competition heated up as department stores, particularly J.C. Penny Corporation, Inc. and
specialty apparel stores improved their performances. According to the article of Funding

management, and indeed the company suffered from excess inventory, forcing it to discount

The South And North Water Diversion Project
The South to North Water Diversion Project in China, established by Moa Zedong in 1952, is a
water diversion project that would divert 44.8 billion cubic meters of water annually to the drier
north of China ( South to North Water ). The project would link China s four main rivers the
Yangtze, Yellow River, Huaihe and Haihe. China plans on doing this by constructing three
diversion routes moving through the south to north ( South to North Water ). It would stretch
across the central, eastern and western parts of the country ( South to North Water ). This project
is expected to cost around $62 billion dollars and take around 50 more years to complete ( South
to North Water ). By trying to divert the rivers and create an equal distribution of water, the project
raises many environmental concerns but has many positives. This paper will evaluate the different
perspectives of the ecomodernist and resiliencetheory. This will be shown by analyzing each
perspective, evaluating the different concerns and analyzing how each perspective would respond
to the water diversion project. Ecomodernist s believe that modernization is the major tool to

James Baldwin s Writing Technique Essay
The Baldwin Technique
James Baldwin is highly regarded as one of the great writers of his time. In the Notes of a Native
Son he describes a very influential moment in his life. The essay s setting takes place during the
Harlem riots in New York City and Detroit. The riot in New York all began due the fatal shooting
of a young African American boy by a white policeofficer. Protesters began to protest the police
brutality, but then fights and looting broke out when some protesters became unruly. Baldwin s
essay reflects upon his interactions and feelings with and about his father. He analyzes how his
father affected him and talks about what kind of person his father was. He also reflects on the
impact of his father s death. All the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(71) Baldwin said this as a result of his altercation with white waitress in a restaurant who refused
to serve him. This hatred and ill feeling that he felt was very similar to the feelings that the rioters
felt toward the police and their acts of unnecessary brutality. Baldwin mentions the riots through out
the story because he, himself, can associate with them. The feelings that the rioters had against the
police were similar to the feelings that Baldwin had toward white people and his father. So in
essence, Baldwin uses the public events that are going on in order to compare to what is going on
in his own private life. The rioters and police recapitulate the association that Baldwin had with his
father.
The conflict that the rioters and the police shared were quite similar to the relationship that
Baldwin and his father had. In a way, he is also constructing a type of connection between the
riots and his relationship with himself and his father. This is an example of how Baldwin utilizes
binaries. When reading Baldwin s literature, one can come to the conclusion that Baldwin s
counterparts need one another in order to live, so to speak. In the Harlem riots the police needed
to show acts of brutality in order for the black people to become angered. If the police never had
started any acts of brutality then the rioters would not exist. They would have no reason to protest.
Therefore if the police

The Street By Ann Petry Essay
Ann Petry s novel The Street (1946) is a commentary on the social injustices that confronted the
protagonist Lutie Johnson. Lutie is a single African American mother who lives in segregated
America during the 1940 s. Throughout the novel, we see that during this time period Lutie is
confronted by racism, sexism, and classism on a daily basis while in her pursuit of the American
Dream for herself and her son Bub. Lutie is convinced that if she follows the example of Benjamin
Franklin, by working hard and saving wisely, she will be able to achieve the dream of being
financially independent and therefore be able to move out from the Street in which she is confined

supposed to get Lutie closer towards her dream. However, Junto, through his secret manipulations
tries to possess Lutie sexually, ultimately leading Lutie towards her path of destruction and she ends
up committing the murder of Junto s henchman, Boots. Junto represents the writer Petry s deep
disillusionment with this cultural myth of the so called American dream. In Richard Wright s

over the years, have gradually declined to attend every Sunday Mass. Priests and clergy, as well as
the Catholic ChurchHerself, have tried to institute the importance of attending Mass every
Sunday. If only all of the unfaithful, Christians, and Catholics knew the value and importance of
our obligatory Sunday Mass, surely then they would live up to the obligation. Every Catholic,
devout or obscure, should be attending Mass every Sunday in order to follow God s law, to give
thanks for God s goodness, and to receive God s graces. For those who don t attend the Holy
Liturgy, it s important to acknowledge where and how God commands us to attend every Sunday.
In the Book of Exodus, after the release of the Israelites slavery in Egypt, Moses presented the Ten

the Sacrament of the Eucharist, every person receives atonement for our sins, such as Purgatory

the deceased families failed to receive support from government.
Emile Durkheim identifies four broad types of suicide viz, egoistic, altruistic, anomic and
fatalistic. Fatalistic is caused by excessive social regulation (blocked by passion), altruistic is not
legitimately studied by Durkheim. Anomic type is caused when an individual is provided with ill
defined objectives/ goals that make the possibility of failure high. And egoistic occurs when the
ties binding the individual to others are slackened and there is absence of adequate social
integration. Farmer suicide in India

Restoring Net Neutrality
Restoring Net Neutrality is an issue because the world wide net should be open to everyone for
their free speech. It is also important to small businesses who would have to pay what is
basically a ransom for a free internet and fair amount of advertising. Many people express
themselves or issues online each day, and when ISP s with opposing views blocks these people, it
should be considered a violation of free speech. This is important to me because my school is 1:1
and I have to research topics for projects throughout the year. Slowing down internetor blocking
elements can stop me from viewing important information related to my projects. I also use it to
interact with my friends online. I suggest that you do something to help Net Neutrality.

The Success Rate Of Your Business
In a world full of business there are many opportunities, some that could bring you lots of success.
The success rate of your business depends on the profits or losses of your business. Every business
wants to satisfy their customers and gain profit but sometimes that s not always what the turnout is.
The satisfaction of your customers is dependent on the products or services they have obtained.
However there are nonprofit organizations that are not seeking profit, an example would be an
animal rescue shelter. When it comes to a profitable business, for example a salon, the difference
between the costs and the prices the clients pay is extremely important. A salon is a business with
goals. A salon would be business that s looking for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Businesses are based on the people and the activities going on inside the business. Inside any
successful business there are owners, employees and customers. Then there are the activities that
occur inside which would be management, marketing and finance. Think of a business as a bunch
of classes where there are different groups and roles for each. The employees and management
are actually in the same class because the management is coordinating with the employees to
achieve the satisfaction of the customers. For example the managers of a salon would be there
coordinating with their stylists to make sure that they are performing the services on their
clients with good quality and that they are being efficiently. Then another class group would
contain marketing and consumers. They would be in the same class because the focus of all
marketing activities is to satisfy the customers. For example the marketers of a salon would be
collecting information about the services they provide. They also would figure out changes that
should be made to the salon to make sure the customers are satisfied. Another part of marketing
is advertising which for a salon could be deals on services and creating an email group to notify
the clients. Marketing can be a great thing when it comes to expanding your business. The third
and last class would be owners and finance. This is because it s the owner s responsibility to
provide financial resources for the business. For example

An Arundel Tomb by Philip Larkin literary criticism
An Arundel Tomb is about a Tomb. The people this statue represents are Richard and Eleanor
FitzAlan. The poem is about love, and how it hasn t always meant the same thing and what it meant
to the couple, the people then, and the people now. It was also about death. It was written in 1956
but not published until 1964 in Philip Larkin s The Whitsun weddings . The author uses slant
rhymes Puns and to prove his point. The poem is about what a man sees when he looks at a
sculpture. What it meant to him and what it meant to the couple. The speaker thinks the statues
show love, then He starts to question if the statue even shows love. There is a slant ... Show more

Larkin said this of his own work Love isn t stronger than death just because statues hold hands
for 600 years. We see with his other drafts of this poem he wanted us to think it is not true with
the qualifying he put there. He wrote Love isn t stronger than death just because statues hold
hands for 600 years. On his draft. IN a way much of what the speaker says is actually true. The
holding of hnds is new before 1840 they were not even together they were separate.
The poem is also about death. It was the last poem in the book the whitsun weddings Which has
meaning in itself it was the poem the book ended in or died. Maybe it was put at the end because
it was not his favorite one might say? Well he had this poem spoken at his funeral. So the
placement and his own life shows that this poem was about death. These people s culture Any
way we decide to perceive this art work is what will be remembered. This also shows that the
book the whitsun weddings should be read in the order the author puts the poem in. Why did the
poet put the poem in that specificate place in the book? It is about how love will servive death or
what we perceive as love. The poem is about a man questioning love or questioning what will

The Obesity Epidemic Of The United States Essay
Campaign to end obesity
Obesity continues to be a problem in the United States. With obesity rates on the rise something
must be done to prevent this massive issue. Seventeen percent of children and adolescents about
12.5 million are obese (Diet). Obesity is the result of a rise in fat that accumulated over time due
to the lack of exercise and having a calorie surplus due to unhealthy food. An adult with a BMI
(body mass index) higher than 30% is considered to be obese (Obesity). There isn t a direct focus
on obesity, because people don t think it s an important issue. To ensure a better future, solution is
needed now. The solution to ending the obesity epidemic by encouraging a healthier lifestyle on
children at young ages, improving nutrition at schools and restaurants, as well as providing more
time and space for citizens to get physically active.
The best way to begin a change in health in America is to start with encouraging a healthy
lifestyle for the younger generation. The United States has one of the largest percentiles of
overweight/obese children in the world. The public clearly knows this, but is failing to take
action. The parents are responsible for the future of their kids; they should take action early in
securing a healthy future for them. This can be done requiring all students in school to be part of
some sort of sport in school or outside; like a recreational league. It s up to the parents to take
responsibility for this and make sure their kids are

Essay on Exegesis of Matthew
Exegesis of the Gospel according to Matthew Chapter 5:3 12
The Eight Beatitudes
In Matthew s Gospel, starting with Chapter five verses three through twelve, Jesus tells us of the
Eight Beatitudes. These verses are much like The Ten Commandments in nature, but more
philosophical:
В·Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
В·Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
В·Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.
В·Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
В·Blessed are those who are merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
В·Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

The beatitudes are just a sample of the many teachings that this book has to offer. The text itself
written by Matthew, one of Jesus disciples, does coincide with the beatitudes written by another
of Jesus disciples; Luke. Only Luke writes the beatitudes a little differently than Matthew. One
example of the differences is in the first beatitude where Matthew writes, Blessed are the poor in
spiritВ… where as Luke recorded Jesus as saying only, Blessed are the poorВ… By annexing in
spirit Luke suggests that only the monetarily poor belong in God s kingdom, where Matthew
seems to state that material status or social poverty alone are not the standards for faith. All
throughout the beatitudes there seems to be the theme that it does not matter what is on the
outside, but God sees and is only concerned with the inside of his children. Their hearts and their
souls. It doesn t appear God cares much for material wealth or success in the world, but more so
for what is in mans heart. Luke suggests В‘the poor should be monetarily poor, and if they have
any wealth they should give it all up to those more needy to give glory to God. Money and
wealth may be seen by some as a sign of being in God s favor with darker signs and adversity a
sign of some sort of punishment. Which should not be the case at all, Matthew seems to add in
spirit more to identify wealth and social status is not the standard by which God will judge. Money
and wealth do have an

The Theme Of Religion In The Bridge Of San Luis Rey
Many people view religion as a source of conflict. Religious tensions ignite wars and split nations.
Religious disagreements separate communities and isolate individuals. For these reasons, many
people choose to leave their religion and to burn the bridges to their faith. Thornton Wilder, an
American author and playwright, attributes his inspiration for the 1927 Pulitzer Prize winning
novel, The Bridge of San Luis Rey(Burbanx 7), to arguments with my father, a strict Calvinist
(Wilder xiv). Instead of allowing religious arguments to create broken relationships, Wilder
embraced his religious influences and built a bridge of faith, grace, and love. Thornton Wilder, in
his novel, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, critiques Humanism, Puritanism, and Catholicism in order
to promote a unique Christian worldview. Wilder begins The Bridge of San Luis Rey by setting
up a dichotomy of life being controlled by accident or by divine plan. The novel s famous
opening line describes the break of an Inca bridge: on Friday noon, July the twentieth, 1714, the
finest bridge in all Peru broke and precipitated five travelers into the gulf below (Wilder 5).
Peruvians were greatly astonished by the bridge collapse because the Bridge of San Luis Rey

Following the bridge collapse, the relatives and friends of the victims gather and share their
grief. They discover that they each have inadequately loved the victims. Edmund Fuller observes
that Wilder is concerned with identifying [love s] nature and its kinds, the modes of its operation
and the follies and waste associated with it (Fuller 212). The wise Abbess guides them that
anywhere you may expect grace and that in love our very mistakes don t seem to be able to last
long (Wilder 106). Grace pardons mistakes made in genuine love, but Wilder suggests that insincere

Anti Immigrant Sentiment And The Social And Cultural...
Anti immigrant sentiment tends to arrive when waves of mass immigration occurs, the host
societies believe that their jobs are being taken from them and that their standard of living is falling
all because of the migrants that have come to live in the host country. Due to this anti immigration
sentiment can be seen to be a politically significant phenomenon in European societies since the
second world war. Strong political opposition to immigration comes from populist extremist parties
(PEPs), they see immigration as a threat to the social and cultural cohesion of the host country. On
the political spectrum most of these parties are right wing parties, somewhere between established
conservative parties and openly violent and anti democratic right wing parties. Over the past years
in Europethese parties have been growing in power and during the past three waves of PEPs, they
have slowly gained more and more power even though many thought they would die out. The first
waves of PEPs come about after the second world war, in the immediate post war period the
Sozialistiche Reichspartei party in West Germany was established however this was banned by he
constitution later on. The second wave came int he 1970s with the National Front in the UK and
the anti tax parties in Scandinavia. The third wave came in the 1980s when a large number of
parties emerged and have remained part of the political scene since then. This shows that anti

The World System Theory And Developmental Studies
Forces of globalization are real and their influences are felt everywhere. It entails free
trade, free mobility of both financial and real capital, and rapid diffusion of products,
technologies, and information and consumption patterns. As indicated in the 1999 World Survey
on the Role of Women in Development, in the age of globalization, Governments policy choices
have shifted in favor of openness of trade and financial flow. Policies calling for lighter
regulation of industry, privatization of state owned enterprises and lower public spending have
characterized the programs of governments around the world. The world systems theory, social
movement theory and developmental studies should take account of female labor and of
oppositional transnational feminist networks.
So how did we come about this issue of economic inequality in terms of the labor force?
The employment of women has had many cultural repercussions and entails gender conflicts.
During the 1980 s the increasing participation of women in the labor force in Middle Eastern
Countries was accompanied by subtle presumes on them to conform to religious dictates
concerning dress. In Egypt many professional women came to work in modest dresses which
were to cover their head. One may hypothesis that in the earlier stage of the Islamist movement,
the influx of women in the work force raised fears of competition with men, leading to calls for
the domestication of women. In the current stage

Gender Inequality In The Healthcare Sector
Executive Summary
In the healthcare sector, gender equality is based on providing equal opportunities for men and
women in all areas or settings. Gender can be defined as those characteristics of men and women
that are socially constricted and determined while sex is associated with characteristics that are
biologically determined. There is a lack of demand and support for advanced research on women
health and diseases, specifically decision makers, support staff, or even researchers and authors.
Many young women and adolescents have found it difficult to access, utilize, or even make their
own decisions in context to reproductive health, specifically abortions, unsafe pregnancies, and
pacing. Women and men from low income, culturally background, and poor socio economic
conditions are deprived of basic healthcare facilities. In the past decade, gender inequality in the
healthcare sector has been associated with age, poverty, socioeconomic condition, and ethnic
diversity of men and women. Gender inequality is not only restricted to healthcare access and
utilization but also affects men and women who seek employment opportunities. In most cases,
only men are dominant in working for specific healthcare positions. Contribution from women
healthcare workers or staff is lower compared to the male workforce that is huge in many areas of
the healthcare system. There is a lack of services and products for women and men coming from
culturally minority or low income groups.

The Relationship Between Keynes And Social Democracy Essay
Keynesianism is an economic theory believed to have been developed and propagated by John
Maynard Keynes, who was a British economist. Keynes postulated that economic growth and
reduced unemployment can be aided via the executive`s fiscal policies inclusive of spending to
reinvigorate the economy, tinkering with interest rates, and appointment of confirmed statutes on
market economics. This theory was developed in the 1930s as a way of better understanding the
Great Depression. Keynes championed for expanded government expenditures and reduced taxes
to energize demand in order to extricate the global economy out of the Depression. Since its
inception Keynesianism was connected to social democratic big government policies. Scholars
like (Barr, 2004) have realised that the relationship between Keynes and social democracy is
more composite than believed. Keynes can be referred to as the draughtsman of the main
elements of social democracy policy especially in regards to full employment but according to
(Skidelsky 2010), he did not believe in the enlargement of the welfare state and public ownership.
Neoliberalism is based on an economic and social policy that is driven by the market and the
reduction of the size of the government and giving more authority to local and state governments.
Neoliberalism advocates for the eradication of regulations imposed on the private sector by the
government, including the privatisation of services provided by the government which include

One Less Lonely Girl Play Analysis
On Friday, November 23, at 7 p.m., I went to see the DHS Factor, with a friend, at the Richard
Brunelle Performance Hall. I chose to attend this performance because I was interested in seeing
different people from our school perform in front of an audience. It was nice to see the wide
variety of talent that is found at our school. A nice touch to the production was having a student,
teacher, and former student be the judges for the night. The final student act in the production of
the DHS Factor was a performance by seniors, Will Wyman and Iain Smith. Unlike the rest of the
contestants, they had a more satirical approach to their performance. They chose to sing the song,
One Less Lonely Girl by Justin Bieber. It was clear from the very beginning of their act, that they
were not trying to hit the notes, just simply trying to be obnoxious and funny. This is similar to the

One act in particular stood out as a parallel to the acts performed by the King and the Duke in the
story. Both of these groups cared about money, in the King and Duke s case, or winning over the
audience, in the case of the Will and Iain s act. In other words, they wanted popularity over
realness. Nobody seemed to care in both circumstances that the performances were meant as a
serious representation of the talent show. Will and Iain s act included singing and dancing, but that
was only the surface of their talent . Their true talent was making the audience laugh. For the King
and the Duke, their audience was glad to have a performance that made them laugh as well. It was
different than just a reenactment of a Shakespearean play, which eventually led to what the King
and Duke wanted most, money. These two groups showed that you can do more than what the
people are expecting and that you can use your humorous personality for the greater

Shrek The Musical Of Shrek
Taking place in downtown West Palm Beach, Dreyfoos School of the Arts put on Shrek the
Musical. The sensational production took place in the Meyer Hall. Shrek the Musical was
originally produced on Broadway by DreamWorks Theatrical and Neal Street Productions. It
was Directed and choreographed by Michelle Petrucci and Musical Direction was done by Dominic
Raffa. However the original Direction was done by Jason Moore. There were brief moments when I
forgot that this was a high school production. I felt like I was see a Broadway musical or at least a
decent off Broadway musical.
Shrek the musical follows the same storyline of the original movie Shrek. The ogre Shrek is a
lone wolf protective of his swamp. Until the other fairytale characters being to intrude upon his
swamp. Leading Shrek to have a word with the Lord Farquaad. Farquaad who then gives Shrek a
mission the bring Farquaad a Princess. Farquaad will clear Shrek s swamp of the intruders.
Thankfully Shrek saves the princess and delivers the princess. The ending is a bit of twist. If you
want to know more you ll have to see the musical February 27 March 6, 2016.
The three leads in this musical are Maxime Prissert portraying the hulking Shrek, Dylan Jackson
portraying the estrange Donkey, and Maddy Mackarey portray the loving Fiona. The accents put
on by every single one of these character were perfect they just lessened the projection and vocal
clarity at times. They did an excellent job with vocal interpretation.

The Career Of Nursing Career
Nursing When people are sick or injured they need someone to take care of them and may need
to see a doctor. But usually there are other professionals who will see them first and provide
hands on care before the doctor arrives. Many of these professionals are nurses. Within the
healthcare sector focused on the care of individuals, families and communities, nurses may help
patients attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. When considering a
nursing career, one needs to be aware of the education and training required, the potential salaries
of nurses, the history of nurses, the locations of hospitals were is the nurses working, and the
characteristics nurses need to be successful. The history of nurses includes different kinds of
nursing. Regarding the clinical nurse specialist, the national league for nursing education first
drew up a plan to create the clinical nurse specialist role in the 1940s. The first master s degree
program opened in 1950 at Rutgers University; the only specialty offered at that time was
psychiatric nursing. By 1970, clinical nurse specialty certification had become available in a
number of fields in response to increased specialization in health care, the development of new
technologies, and need to provide alternative, cost efficient health care in the physician shortage of
the 1960s (Ferguson A 9). Educational programs for nurses are a fairly recent addition to the time
honored career choice. Regarding the history of

Language Teaching Case Study
INTRODUCTION
Teaching a second language has constantly been a challenge and a topic of many elaborative
discussions in the field of language teaching. There have been different trends in language teaching
which led to the introduction of different language teaching approaches. Whereupon, language
teaching theorists and second language teaching practitioners have found those to be stimulus with
many practical issues and shortcomings in terms of mastering the target language among the
second language learners. Each method focused on key set of learning outcomes and defined the
position or the role of the teacher accordingly. In contrast, linguists of eras following introduced
their own mechanisms in language teaching and learning process which in ... Show more content on

In light of such an outlook, in the late 20th Century, D.A.Wilkins came up with Communicative
Language Teaching (CLT) which was aiming towards obtaining and harping on the communicative
competence of a second language learner. Whereby as per Brown (2007) learner is facilitated in
lifelong language learning (Brown 2007, p.46) According to Brown (2007, p. 45) Communicative
Language Teaching is an attempt which goes beyond teaching grammar and discourse elements in
language communications. Brown (2007) asserts that it probes the nature of social, cultural, and
pragmatic features of language (2007, p. 45).
Under such context a teacher in a CLT classroom according to Brown (2007) is an empathetic coach
who encourages learners to construct meaning through genuine linguistic interaction with other
students and with the teacher Brown (2007, p.

Differences Between Arbitration And Mediation
Differences between Arbitration and Mediation: Arbitration occurs when a neutral third party hears
a dispute and imposes (Miller Cross, 2013) their decision on both parties. Mediation transpires
when an unbiased third party works with both sides to facilitate a resolution (Miller Cross, 2013).
Arbitrationand mediationboth work to find a solution to the conflict between two parties; but
arbitration differs from mediation through the role of the neutral third party, the formality of the
process, the discovery period of a case, and the type of decision. In both arbitration and mediation
there is an impartial third party. In arbitration, there tends to be more than one arbitrator. In
arbitration, there is a panel of multiple arbitrators ( Mediation , 2015), where one arbitrator is
chosen by each side. Afterwards, the two arbitrators then select a third ( Mediation , 2015) to
complete the panel. The panel s role in arbitration involves coming to decision after hearing parties
testify under oath ( Comparison , 2015) and examining the evidence presented. Unlike arbitration,
mediators help both parties with the discussion and eventual resolution ( Mediation , 2015) of their
conflict and case. In a mediation, both parties select a mediator to help create more understanding,
which tends to be a less formal process than that of an arbitration. The formality of an arbitration
and a mediation varies due to their nature. An arbitration is a

Early on, humans may have expressed their thoughts through only body language and primitive grunts; however, as civilization progressed, humans developed intelligible language. From development of that early language, written language was sprouted. From some development of that written language, other forms of communication came into being. Today, many forms of communication exist; however, all of them center around verbal communication. In Chaim Potok s critically acclaimed novel, The Chosen, verbal communication, or the lack thereof, is a main theme. The lack of communication, silence, in The Chosen is used by Potok not only to show the suffering of his characters but also to symbolize the struggles of the Jewish people. Potok uses silence prominently in The Chosen to show isolation. Both of the protagonists in the book experience an isolating silence; for example, the silence imposed upon Danny is a main component of the novel s plot. Danny s pain and isolation is caused by his father s silence toward him. Reb Saunders, Danny s father, doesn t speak with Danny because he believes that being silent toward Danny is what is best for him; however, the other characters of the book see only that the silence causes Danny suffering. Reb s silence toward Danny would seem cruel in a normal situation, but in Danny s situation, it seems to be atrocious. In the forties, being a Jew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Edgar Allan Poe s short story The Tell Tale Heart, the narrator strives to support his lucidity after murdering the old man under his care. Although he repeatedly claims that he is logical and acts with sagacity, the narrator s noetic process and behaviors indicate he actually is insane. The narrator s lack of reason and auditory hallucinations provide proof of his dementia. To begin with, the narrator s lack of reason for his groundless actions provides evidence for his insanity, contradicting the belief that he is mentally stable. The narrator had no rational reason to murder the old man. For example, the narrator stated Object there was none. Passion there was none. I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He had never given me insult (p 1). Therefore, the old man had never done anything to harm the narrator, nor had he ever wronged him in any way. The only reason the narrator killed the old man was because he was deranged in multiple ways; one of his significant reasons however, was because he felt the old man s eye was threatening. This is important to me because my school is 1:1 and I have to research topics for projects throughout the year. The employees and management are actually in the same class because the management is coordinating with the employees to achieve the satisfaction of the customers. For example the managers of a salon would be there coordinating with their stylists to make sure that they are performing the services on their clients with good quality and that they are being efficiently. Then another class group would contain marketing and consumers. They would be in the same class because the focus of all marketing activities is to satisfy the customers. For example the marketers of a salon would be collecting information about the services they provide. They also would figure out changes that should be made to the salon to make sure the customers are satisfied. Another part of marketing is advertising which for a salon could be deals on services and creating an email group to notify the clients. With obesity rates on the rise something must be done to prevent this massive issue. Seventeen percent of children and adolescents about 12.5 million are obese (Diet). Obesity is the result of a rise in fat that accumulated over time due to the lack of exercise and having a calorie surplus due to unhealthy food. The text itself written by Matthew, one of Jesus disciples, does coincide with the beatitudes written by another of Jesus disciples; Luke. One example of the differences is in the first beatitude where Matthew writes, Blessed are the poor in spiritВ… where as Luke recorded Jesus as saying only, Blessed are the poorВ… By annexing in spirit Luke suggests that only the monetarily poor belong in God s kingdom, where Matthew seems to state that material status or social poverty alone are not the standards for faith. All throughout the beatitudes there seems to be the theme that it does not matter what is on the outside, but God sees and is only concerned with the inside of his children. Their hearts and their souls. It doesn t appear God cares much for material wealth or success in the world, but more so for what is in mans heart. Luke suggests В‘the poor should be monetarily poor, and if they have any wealth they should give it all up to those more needy to give glory to God. Money and wealth may be seen by some as a sign of being in God s favor with darker signs and adversity a sign of some sort of punishment. Which should not be the case at all, Matthew seems to add in spirit more to identify wealth and social status is not the standard by which God will judge. Money and wealth do have an ... Religious disagreements separate communities and isolate individuals. For these reasons, many people choose to leave their religion and to burn the bridges to their faith. Thornton Wilder, an American author and playwright, attributes his inspiration for the 1927 Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Bridge of San Luis Rey(Burbanx 7), to arguments with my father, a strict Calvinist (Wilder xiv). Instead of allowing religious arguments to create broken relationships, Wilder embraced his religious influences and built a bridge of faith, grace, and love. Thornton Wilder, in his novel, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, critiques Humanism, Puritanism, and Catholicism in order to promote a unique Christian worldview. Wilder begins The Bridge of San Luis Rey by setting up a dichotomy of life being controlled by accident or by divine plan. The novel s famous opening line describes the break of an Inca bridge: on Friday noon, July the twentieth, 1714, the finest bridge in all Peru broke and precipitated five travelers into the gulf below (Wilder 5). • 41. The Relationship Between Keynes And Social Democracy Essay Keynesianism is an economic theory believed to have been developed and propagated by John Maynard Keynes, who was a British economist. Keynes postulated that economic growth and reduced unemployment can be aided via the executive`s fiscal policies inclusive of spending to reinvigorate the economy, tinkering with interest rates, and appointment of confirmed statutes on market economics. This theory was developed in the 1930s as a way of better understanding the Great Depression. Keynes championed for expanded government expenditures and reduced taxes to energize demand in order to extricate the global economy out of the Depression. Since its inception Keynesianism was connected to social democratic big government policies. Scholars like (Barr, 2004) have realised that the relationship between Keynes and social democracy is more composite than believed. Keynes can be referred to as the draughtsman of the main elements of social democracy policy especially in regards to full employment but according to (Skidelsky 2010), he did not believe in the enlargement of the welfare state and public ownership. Each method focused on key set of learning outcomes and defined the position or the role of the teacher accordingly. In contrast, linguists of eras following introduced their own mechanisms in language teaching and learning process which in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In light of such an outlook, in the late 20th Century, D.A.Wilkins came up with Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) which was aiming towards obtaining and harping on the communicative competence of a second language learner. Whereby as per Brown (2007) learner is facilitated in lifelong language learning (Brown 2007, p.46) According to Brown (2007, p. 45) Communicative Language Teaching is an attempt which goes beyond teaching grammar and discourse elements in language communications. Brown (2007) asserts that it probes the nature of social, cultural, and pragmatic features of language (2007, p. 45). Under such context a teacher in a CLT classroom according to Brown (2007) is an empathetic coach who encourages learners to construct meaning through genuine linguistic interaction with other students and with the teacher Brown (2007, p. ... Essay on Aj Davis Department Store Part B AJ Davis Department Store Part B AJ Davis Department Store Introduction The following information will show whether or not the manager s speculations are correct. He wants to know the following information: Is the average mean greater than $45,000? Does the true population proportion of customers who live in an urban area exceed 45%? Is the average number of years lived in the current home less than 8 years? Is the credit balance for suburban customers more than $3200? Hypothesis testing and confidence intervals for situations A D are calculated. A. THE AVERAGE (MEAN) ANNUAL INCOME WAS LESS THAN $45,000. Solution: Step 1: Null Hypothesis: The average (mean) annual income was equal to $45,000. H_0: Ој=45,0000 Step2: Alternate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Solution: Step 1: Null Hypothesis: The average (mean) number of years lived in the current home is equal to 8 years. H_0: Ој=8 Step 2: Alternate Hypothesis: The average (mean) number of years lived in the current home is less than 8 years. H_a: Ој 50 requires that the z test for mean be used to test the given hypothesis. The alternative hypothesis is Ha:Ој 3200 Step 3: Test Statistic: z= Following the provided information, the Significance Level is О±=0.05. The alternative hypothesis is Ha: Ој 3200; therefore, the given test is a one tailed (upper tailed) z test. Step 4: Critical Value and Rejection Region: The critical value for significance level О±=0.05 for an upper tailed z test is given as 1.645. Rejection Region: Reject H_0,if z statistic 1.645. Step 5: Assumptions: The sample size in this speculation is greater than 30, therefore, The Central Limit Theorem (CLT) will apply, and no assumptions need to be made. • 47. Differences Between Arbitration And Mediation Differences between Arbitration and Mediation: Arbitration occurs when a neutral third party hears a dispute and imposes (Miller Cross, 2013) their decision on both parties. Mediation transpires when an unbiased third party works with both sides to facilitate a resolution (Miller Cross, 2013). Arbitrationand mediationboth work to find a solution to the conflict between two parties; but arbitration differs from mediation through the role of the neutral third party, the formality of the process, the discovery period of a case, and the type of decision. In both arbitration and mediation there is an impartial third party. In arbitration, there tends to be more than one arbitrator. In arbitration, there is a panel of multiple arbitrators ( Mediation , 2015), where one arbitrator is chosen by each side. Afterwards, the two arbitrators then select a third ( Mediation , 2015) to complete the panel. The panel s role in arbitration involves coming to decision after hearing parties testify under oath ( Comparison , 2015) and examining the evidence presented. Unlike arbitration, mediators help both parties with the discussion and eventual resolution ( Mediation , 2015) of their conflict and case. In a mediation, both parties select a mediator to help create more understanding, which tends to be a less formal process than that of an arbitration. The formality of an arbitration and a mediation varies due to their nature. An arbitration is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
