A SYMMETRIC TOKEN ROUTING FOR SECURED COMMUNICATION OF MANET cscpconf
The communication should be much secured in Mobile Adhoc Networks in the
protective environment such as Military atmosphere and in a disaster relief. Due to the attackers,
Mobile Adhoc Networks resulting in denial of Service attacks modify packets, Error packets,
Missing Packets, Theft of Nodes, etc. To overcome this problem, We propose a new Symmetric
Token Routing Protocol (STRP) for mobile ad hoc networks provides much security against
MANET. The proposed protocol distributed a secured shared symmetric token for each node to
provide security against hackers and attackers. Simulation results shows the better delivery against
the existing protocol in MANET.

Black hole Attack Avoidance Protocol for wireless Ad-Hoc networksijsrd.com
A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network is a collection of mobile nodes or a temporary network set up by wireless mobile nodes moving arbitrary in the places that have no network infrastructure in such a manner that the interconnections between nodes are capable of changing on continual basis. Thus the nodes find a path to the destination node using routing protocols. However, due to security vulnerabilities of the routing protocols, wireless ad-hoc networks are unprotected to attacks of the malicious nodes. Various attacks and one of those attacks is the Black Hole Attack against network integrity absorbing all data packets in the network. Since the data packets do not reach the destination node on account of this attack, data loss will occur. Therefore, it is a severe attack that can be easily employed against routing in mobile ad hoc networks. There are lots of detection and defense mechanisms to eliminate the intruder that carry out the black hole attack. . Virtual Infrastructure achieves reliable transmission in Mobile Ad Hoc Network. Black Hole Attack is the major problem to affect the Virtual Infrastructure. In this paper, approach on analyzing and improving the security of AODV, which is one of the popular routing protocols for MANET. Our aim is to ensuring the avoidance against Black hole attack.
Performance Evaluation of Wormhole Attack In AODVIJERA Editor
The Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) is a collection of wireless nodes which interact with each other by sending packets to one another or on behalf of another node, without any central network infrastructure to control data routing. For communication, the nodes cooperatively forward data packets to other nodes in network by using the routing protocol. But, these routing protocols are not secure, thus paving the way for the MANET to be open to malicious attacks. A malicious attack which is commonly observed in MANET environment is wormhole attack. The objective of this work is to analyze the performance parameters of throughput, delay and packet loss in AODV with the existence of wormhole attack. Simulation results have shown that the performance parameters are affected very much when there is an attack due to wormholes
Consensus Routing And Environmental Discrete Trust Based Secure AODV in MANETsIJCNCJournal
The Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) is a wireless network model for infrastructure-less communication, and it provides numerous applications in different areas. The MANET is vulnerable to a Black-hole attack, and it affects routing functionality by dropping all the incoming packets purposefully. The Black-hole attackers pretend that it always has the best path to the destination node to mislead the source nodes. Trust is the critical factor for detecting and isolating the Black-hole attackers from the network. However, the harsh channel conditions make it difficult to differentiate the Black-hole routing activities and accurate trust measurement. Hence, incorporating the consensus-based trust evidence collection from the neighbouring nodes improves the accuracy of trust. For improving the accuracy of trust, this work suggests Consensus Routing and Environmental DIscrete Trust (CREDIT) Based Secure AODV. The CREDIT incorporates Discrete and Consensus trust information. The Discrete parameters represent the specific characteristics of the Black-hole attacks, such as routing behaviour, hop count deviation, and sequence number deviation. The direct trust accurately differentiates the Black-hole attackers using Discrete parameters, only when the nodes perform sufficient communication between the nodes. To solve such issues, the CREDIT includes the Consensus-based trust information. However, secure routing against the Black-hole attack is challenging due to incomplete preferences. The in-degree centrality and Importance degree measurement on the collected consensus-based trust from decisionmakers solve the incomplete preference issue as well as improves the accuracy of trust. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated using Network Simulator-2 (NS2). From the simulation results, it is proved that the detection accuracy and throughput of the proposed CREDIT are substantially high and the proposed CREDIT scheme outperforms the existing work.

WDA: Wormhole Attack Detection Algorithm based on measuring Round Trip Delay ...ijsrd.com
The recent advancements in the wireless arena and their wide-spread utilization have introduced new security vulnerabilities. The wireless media being shared is exposed to outside world, so it is susceptible to various attacks at different layers of OSI network stack. For example, jamming and device tampering at the physical layer; disruption of the medium access control (MAC) layer; routing attacks like Blackhole, rushing, wormhole; targeted attacks on the transport protocol like session hijacking, SYN flooding or even attacks intended to disrupt specific applications through viruses, worms and Trojan Horses. Wormhole attack is one of the serious routing attacks amongst all the network layer attacks launched on MANET. Wormhole attack is launched by creation of tunnels and it leads to total disruption of the routing paths on MANET. In this paper, Wormhole detection algorithm (WDA) is proposed based on modifying the forwarding packet process that detects and isolates wormhole nodes in ad hoc on demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol.
A Traffic-Aware Key Management Architecture for Reducing Energy Consumption i...IDES Editor
In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), most
of the existing key management schemes, establish shared
keys for all pairs of neighbor sensor nodes without
considering the communication between these nodes.
When the number of sensor nodes in WSNs is increased
then each sensor node is to be loaded with bulky amount
of keys. In WSNs a sensor node may communicate with a
small set of neighbor sensor nodes. Based on this fact, in
this paper, an energy efficient Traffic-Aware Key
Management (TKM) scheme is developed for WSNs,
which only establishes shared keys for active sensors
which participate in direct communication. The proposed
scheme offers an efficient Re-keying mechanism to
broadcast keys without the need for retransmission or
acknowledgements. Numerical results show that proposed
key management scheme achieves high connectivity. In
the simulation experiments, the proposed key
management scheme is applied for different routing
protocols. The performance evaluation shows that
proposed scheme gives stronger resilence, low energy
consumption and lesser end to end delay.
Anew approach to broadcast in wormhole routed three-dimensional networks is proposed. One of the most
important process in communication and parallel computer is broadcast approach.. The approach of this
case of Broadcasting is to send the message from one source to all destinations in the network which
corresponds to one-to-all communication. Wormhole routing is a fundamental routing mechanism in
modern parallel computers which is characterized with low communication latency. We show how to apply
this approach to 3-D meshes. Wormhole routing is divided the packets into set of FLITS (flow control
digits). The first Flit of the packet (Header Flit) is containing the destination address and all subsets flits
will follow the routing way of the header Flit. In this paper, we consider an efficient algorithm for
broadcasting on an all-port wormhole-routed 3D mesh with arbitrary size. We introduce an efficient
algorithm, Y-Hamiltonian Layers Broadcast(Y-HLB). In this paper the behaviors of this algorithm were
compared to the previous results, our paradigm reduces broadcast latency and is simpler. In this paper our
simulation results show the average of our proposed algorithm over the other algorithms that presented.
An Adaptive Mobility Based Attack Detection Mechanism to Detect Selective For...paperpublications3
Abstract: In this paper propose Mobile network based attack detection of Selective Forwarding Attacks in Wireless Sensor Networks. In existing method only used static network and mobility network require high energy and time. So these problems can be overcome by using Mobile network based attack detection. The wireless sensor network has become a hot research area due its wide range of application in military and civilian domain, but as it uses wireless media for communication these are easily prone to security attacks. Selective forwarding attacks are most effective when the attacker is explicitly included on the path of a data flow. Selective forwarding and black hole attacks are very disastrous attacks for sensor networks if used with sinkhole attack because the intruder can drop most of the important packets. Moreover, the technique involves energy efficiency, reliability and scalability. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed method can accurately detect selective forwarding attacks and identify the compromised sensor nodes. Experimental result show analytically and through simulation experiments that our schemes achieve effective and robust detection capability with reasonable overheads.

Cluster Head and RREQ based Detection and Prevention of Gray hole and Denial ...IJSRD
Wireless sensor network is a type of network which have no communications pattern for communication between nodes, any node can easily join the network and leave the network so attacks are more probable. Gray hole is one of such attacks and it is tough to detect since malicious node switches behavior between normal node and malicious node. For detection and prevention of gray hole attacks our proposed technique is based on Cluster head and RREQ based approach in WSN. In our proposed technique we select a node which has the highest energy as a cluster head and remaining node are marked as work as cluster member. For each node we decide a threshold for sending RREQ if any node generate RREQ more than threshold then we check its RREP threshold value if it’s less than one than cluster head will conclude this node as a malicious node and broadcast its node id so that all other nodes also mark it as malicious node and drop the request arrive from this malicious node and for gray hole detection.

Here are the results of Wessex AHSN's first stakeholder survey; carried out by YouGov on behalf of NHS England.
The poll was part of a national drive to measure the current perception of Academic Health Science Networks across the country. 1,200 people from across health and social care, patient groups, academia, industry, and the charity sector took part in the survey to share their views on how the AHSNs are delivering on increasing the adoption and diffusion of innovation and research, and spreading best practice across the NHS.
We were delighted that 83% of respondents said they have a good working relationship with Wessex AHSN, which was complemented by 73% of respondents nationally saying they would recommend working with AHSNs overall.
The work of the AHSN was reflected positively:
- 74% agreed that Wessex AHSN has clear and visible leadership
- 74% say that Wessex AHSN priorities are aligned to local priorities
- 66% believe in our ability to deliver on our priorities
- 85% say that Wessex AHSN staff are helpful
The results have also given us valuable feedback on where we can improve; which we have listened to and will act on.
The survey results show AHSNs have a good reputation for facilitating collaboration and supporting partners to address the needs of their local communities. They also highlight clear demand for greater visibility of the AHSNs and their role in championing the uptake of innovation in the NHS. AHSNs are working together to address this demand, including by collaborating on the NHS Innovation Accelerator programme, supporting NHS England’s test beds initiative and providing input to the government’s Accelerated Access Review. Together, AHSNs are helping to put the NHS at the forefront of collaborative working for system-wide improvement and mobilise world-leading expertise within the NHS in support of economic growth.
As the first national measurement of AHSN activity, the networks will use the results of this survey to:
- Understand where AHSNs are performing well so that this can be maintained and improved further
- Understand areas for improvement and development to improve overall service for the system
- Benchmark future progress and success
Thank you to our stakeholders who took part in this survey.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Abstract:
Network coding has been shown to be an effective approach to improve the
wireless system performance. However, many security issues impede its wide
deployment in practice. Besides the well-studied pollution attacks, there is another
severe threat, that of wormhole attacks, which undermines the performance gain of
network coding. Since the underlying characteristics of network coding systems
are distinctly different from traditional wireless networks, the impact of wormhole
attacks and countermeasures are generally unknown. In this paper, we quantify
wormholes’ devastating harmful impact on network coding system performance
through experiments. We first propose a centralized algorithm to detect wormholes
and show its correctness rigorously. For the distributed wireless network, we
proposes DAWN, Distributed detection Algorithm against Wormhole in wireless
Network coding systems, by exploring the change of the flow directions of the
innovative packets caused by wormholes. We rigorously prove that DAWN
guarantees a good lower bound of successful detection rate. We perform analysis
on the resistance of DAWN against collusion attacks.

Introduction:
In wireless network coding systems, the forwarders are allowed to apply
encoding schemes on what they receive, and thus they create and transmit new
packets. The idea of mixing packets on each node takes good advantages of the
opportunity diversity and broadcast nature of wireless communications, and
significantly enhances system performance.
Wireless network coding systems face new challenges and attacks, whose
impact and countermeasures are still not well understood because their underlying
characteristics are different from well-studied traditional wireless networks.
The wormhole attack is one of these attacks. In a wormhole attack, the
attacker can forward each packet using wormhole links and without modifies the
packet transmission by routing it to an unauthorized remote node. Hence, receiving
the rebroadcast packets by the attackers, some nodes will have the illusion that
they are close to the attacker.

Existing System:
Wireless network coding systems the routing and packet forwarding
procedures are different from those in traditional wireless networks wormhole
attacks severely imperil network coding protocols. In particular, if wormhole
attacks are launched in routing, the nodes close to attackers will receive more
packets than they should and be considered as having a good capability in help
forwarding packets. Thus they will be assigned with more responsibility in packet
forwarding than what they can actually provide. Furthermore, other nodes will be
correspondingly contributing less. This unfair distribution of workload will result
in inefficient resource utilization and reduce system performance. Wormhole
attacks launched during the data transmission phase can also be very harmful.
First, wormhole attacks can be used as the first step towards more sophisticated
attacks, such as man-in-the-middle attacks and entropy attacks.
Disadvantages:
Wormhole attacks launched during the data transmission phase can also be
very harmful.
Retransmitting the packets from the wormhole links, some victim nodes will
have to process much more non-innovative packets that will waste their
resources; these constitute entropy attacks.

Proposed System:
A wireless network design with a set of homogeneous nodes running
through network coding protocols, Nodes are connected via lossy wireless links.
In wormhole attacks, the attackers between distant locations transmit packets
using an out-of-band tunnel. The transmission tunnel is called a wormhole link.
The packet loss rate on the wormhole link is negligible. The kinds of the wormhole
links can be various, such as an Ethernet cable, an optical link, or a secured long-
range wireless transmission.
In the wireless network systems, we consider that public key infrastructure
(PKI) is in place to implement the public key cryptographic techniques. For the
wireless network, we regard each node1 as a user who has a pair of public and
private keys. The identity and the public key of each user are managed by the
certificate authority (CA), which is a trusted entity. If any node A wants to safely
communicate with node B, A has to request B’s public key from the CA first. After
the transmission, node B has to request A’s public key from the CA in order to
verify the message from A. CA is also responsible to pre distribute and revoke the
key pairs of the nodes. The nodes and the CA together form the PKI, which can
guarantee that no node can forge reports from other nodes.
