Hoplite Warfare And Ancient Greece
Hoplite Warfare In Ancient Greece When one thinks of Ancient Greece, one does not typically
think of hoplite warfare. However, hoplite warfare is the quintessential factor in Greece becoming
the country that it is today. Without this warfare Greece would have fallen to a number of countries
not making Greece the independent country that it is today. Thus, making hoplitewarfare the most
important aspect of Greek history.
As Greek population began to increase, city states began to increase as well. Along with the rise of
city states came to question a new form of warfare. This warfare is called hoplite warfare. Hoplite
warfare was formed c. 700 BC. Hoplites are a group of heavily armed soldiers. Hoplites are
supported on the left arm by a large round shield. Hoplites are also equipped in their right hand
with a long spear, six to eight feet long. Lastly, hoplites are equipped with a short sword.
Hoplites fight in an organized line called a phalanx. They would overlap their shields, thus
producing an impenetrable wall. This phalanx would be able to spread out into a line and place
itself into valleys or between mountains, causing their enemy to have to go through them rather
than around. This phalanx would work very well within Greece due to the geography of Greece
itself. Greece has many mountains and valleys that work well for this type of warfare. Throughout
this paper you will learn why hoplite warfare is the single most effective type of warfare in Greek
history.

Sparkle Effect Program Research Paper
While being enrolled in College Credit Plus, I have had the opportunity to take dual credit
classes that have better prepared me for rigorous college level work. Although half of my classes
are college taught, I have still been able to maintain a strong connection to my high school and
the extracurricular courses it has to offer. Academics courses are very important to me however,
one of my favorite parts of the day is being able to play in the schools highest orchestra group:
Sinfonia. I am thankful to be a part of the College Credit Plus program because of the time
management skills and preparation it has given me to be a successful college student.
I am a dedicated member of the High School Cheerleading Squad. Overall, the most rewarding part
is cheering with kids in The Sparkle Effect Program. The Sparkle Effect is a national program that
gives students with disabilities the opportunity (they deserve) to cheer at Friday night football
games. This program is truly amazing because of how unique it is, and the significant role it has
played throughout our school. The Sparkle Effect has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Attending The Ohio State University will better prepare me to be a competitive and well rounded
applicant for medical school because of the prestigious professors who give students the tools and
opportunities they need to achieve their goals. Receiving a scholarship would greatly impact my
life because it would allow me to further my education and would help me extend my learning
experience at the university. If I received a scholarship, I would have more time to participate in

It s a good chance that you ll quickly recall the name and talents of singer, actor Frankie Avalon, no

pictures and was an intrinsic fiber of American entertainment history. Frankie Avalon was born
September 18, 1940 in The City of Brotherly Love , Philadelphia, PA. He could light the flame and
turn up the heat on nearly every love struck teen girl or adult woman in America! A child prodigy,
Frankie entered local amateur talent contests after he turned 10 and won them, one after another. In

What Was The Golden Age Of The Victorian Era
Queen Victoria of England ruled from 1837 to 1901, making her the second longest reigning
monarch in England. During her reign, an entire era was coined in her name by historians. To what
is considered the golden age of England, the Victorian period brought a time of improvements in
society, great achievement, and revolutionary ideas that paved the way for modern times.
Like today, the Victorian society functioned on three main classes: upper class, middle classand
working class. The upper class consisted of the wealthy, nobles, and anyone with relations to the
royal family. These people could afford the life of luxury because depending on who you were,
your family probably owned a major mining or shipping business. People in this class saw many
privileges like access to phenomenal education and could import expensive goods from different
countries.
One class that was growing each day was the middle class. These citizens lived in suitable
conditions and many owned smaller but vast businesses like tailor shops. Multiple businesses led
to the increase of job opportunities. These opportunities for jobs is what helped the middle class
grow during this period.
The final and bottom class is the working class. People in this class lived in poverty and sometimes
were even homeless. Categories to describe the working class were skilled workers and unskilled
workers. The skilled worker would be offered a job specialized to his skill, but if
the person was unskilled, he could

Are Solar Roadways the future?
In the beginning Scott and Julie Brusaw became open on the subject for creating solar powered
LED roadways, they have encountered an endless amount of doubt and even outright aggression.
The reaction was obviously expected given how new this sort of technology is. Not only is it
new, but it would quite difficult to execute the dream of electrifying roads and highways with
reinforced solar panels. Some questioned question if whether or not solar roadways are even
necessary. However, the most important company that governs American roads was willing to at
least give the idea a shot. Although the idea of solar roadways does sound amazing has many

Words will be able to be illuminated into roads, warning of wildlife ahead, a detour a couple of
miles in the distance, a recent accident blocking the road, or construction will now be much easier
to avoid than waiting to encountering it as it comes.
The LEDs can also be programmed to move along with cars at the speed limit, warning drivers
instantly when they are driving too fast. The LEDs will also be used to paint words right into the
road, warning drivers of an animal on the road, a detour ahead, an accident, or construction work.
Central control stations will be able to instantly customize the lines and words in real time,
alleviating traffic congestion and making the roads more efficient as well as safer. Cities and
towns will be able to customize the lines for roads and parking spaces to meet their own unique
needs. For example, here in Sandpoint, Idaho, we have Lost in the 50 s Weekend each May.
Currently, the city puts out orange cones to remark the parking places and block off streets for the
parade, car show, and street dance. With Solar Roadways, they would push the Lost in the 50 s
button which would repaint the road lines instantly. After the celebration, they would equally
quickly return to the default setting.

Agatha Christie Quotes
Essay #1: In Murder on the Orient express Agatha Christie uses clues to reveal who had
committed the crime in the novel. For example, when Poirot Here s the scream in the middle
inside of Ratchett s room in the middle and when he investigates Poirot hears: Ce n est rien. Je
me suis trompe Which Means it s nothing in French Indicating that the murderer knows French
which can rule out some of the victims. Later evidence suggests Ratchett was killed at 1:15 am
due to His watch being broken at that time. Another Clue in the story was that when Poirot
examined Ratchett s wounds he noticed that he was stabbed many times by what seemed to be
one person who was left handed and one who was right which also means that there was two
murderers (Christie). Later in the story, the reader learns of the Scarlett Kimono that was worn
by the murderer the night of the killing which was a key piece of the mystery since it was found to
be worn by the murderer. Since this was way back before the era of technology like today, they
would be able to go to a lab for a finger print or DNA analysis. However, this if that technology

Every human being has their own identity and defines the uniqueness of an individual. Personality,
physical appearance, and how an individual acts define identity, or in other words, define who a
person is. The world has come with many different meanings and interpretations of the definition of
identity. Identity, for some is what they are still searching in their lives, and others already found
who they are. There are many factors that impacts greatly on an individual. These factors are found
in the characters that are in the book of The Young Elites and The Outsiders. Both Lu and Hinton

Cherri was part of the Socs, but throughout the book, she gives Greasers secret information about
them. When she betrayed the Socs, people stopped viewing her positively and started doing the
exact opposite. However, by betraying her own group, Cherri managed to unite the Socs and the
Greasers. Whilst betraying the Socs, Cherri had to go out of her comfort zone, allowing her to
realize that she is capable of doing things she never imagined she could do. She learned to be
brave, and in a way, she learned to be more considerate. She reached out to both groups for the
greater good. She even helped Johnny when he was accused of murdering Bob on purpose
(Clark, 10). By doing this, Cherri does betray her own group, but she does so because she cares
about both the Socs and the Greasers. Instead of being like the others who are bent on getting
revenge, Cherri realized that she could use betrayal as a way of uniting the two different groups.
With this being said, Cherri betrays the Socs not for herself, but for others so that they would stop
getting hurt, and by doing this, Hinton proves that betrayal can really determine a person s true

The Effect Of Personality On Teacher Leadership
The Effect of Personality on Teacher Leadership
Mariana Quezada, Harmony Rain, Joshua Neely, Stevie Lang, and Morgan Copas
Flagler College
Methods This study looks at the effect personality has on teacher leadership. In this study, the
independent variable is based off of the Big Five Inventory (BFI), and is a person s T score in
each of the Big Five personality traits. The dependent variable would be the scores in each of the
seven domains on the Teacher Leadership Inventory (TLI). An Analysis of Variability (ANOVA)
will be used to determine if there is a relationship between personality and teacher leadership.
In previous research by Aydin, Balvi, and Alci (2013), it was shown that neuroticismhas negative
effects on all teaching competencies examined, and extroversion is significantly and positively
correlated to teaching competency, so this study will look at the effects of extroversion and
neuroticism on teacher leadership. In this study, it is predicted that there will be a relationship
between personality and leadership, and while Extroversion will have a positive correlation with the
seven teacher leadership domains, neuroticism will have a negative correlation with the seven
teacher leadership domains.

Participants of the study were from a sample of Flagler students, all of which were members of the
education department, and were selected on a voluntary basis. Compensation received by the

The Human Body And All The Organ System
The human body is in a constant state of movement even when seemingly still. This constant
movement is crucial for the human body and all the organ systems it contains. Movement although
overlooked is more complicate than many would believe. The human body has many functions
which are maintained by the movement of muscles and blood, as well as other bi products of the
organ systems. The Integumentary, Cardiovascular, and Tissue systems are capable of movement
both internal and external allowing for the continuous cycle that keeps the human body functioning.
The most important system that relies on movement is the Cardiovascular system. The
Cardiovascular system is mainly composed of the heart, blood vessels, and about 5.5 liters of
blood. ()The system itself is constantly moving, internally and externally.() The heart itself is a
muscular pumping organ that helps with the transport of oxygen and waste via the blood system.
() Specifically the pulmonary circulation, composed of the right atrium and ventricle, is primarily
used to transport deoxygenated blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs in which the
blood is filled with oxygen, returning to the heart and then transported by the systemic
circulation, composed of the left atrium and ventricle, which carries the blood to the rest of the
body. ()The systemic circulation also carries waste away from the tissue and carries deoxygenated
blood back to the heart.() Blood vessels are also a part of this process because

Spanking Young Children
About 60% of parents in the United States use spanking as a method to discipline their young
children. In most cases parents believe that spanking is the only effective way to discipline their
children. According to the International Encyclopedia of Marriage and Family , spanking is often
referred as; one or two flat handed swats on a child s wrist or buttocks, but would not include a
beating with a whip or a belt, for others, spankingalso includes slaps and pinches to the leg, arm,

With the increasing number of families that have two working parents in a family children would
want to seek attention from parents at any rate they can. If parents spank them when they
misbehave, misbehaving constantly can make them feel somehow connected with parents.
Sometimes spanking a child is necessary to bring attention to the child when they are constantly
misbehaving. Some parents believe spanking is a great way to discipline a child because they
would become more obedient. For instance, many parents use corporal punishment as a last resort,
some parents may reluctantly spank their children because they cannot think of what else to do to
show the child the seriousness of his or her misbehavior (encyclopedia, 2003) Parents use
spanking a child as a way to make children act the way they are supposed to act. Many children go
wild, since they have never received any real punishment from either parent other than just getting
grounded for misbehaving. Sometimes parents lose control of their children due to the lack of
disciplinary skills. When parents lack disciplinary skills the children tend to have control of all
situations. For example, a child may be throwing food in the kitchen when they dislike the meal the
parent prepares. The parents do not use any act of physical punishment towards the children but
rather ground them when they misbehave. The

themselves can be quite unhelpful. Compared with women, they tend to be far more concerned
with being competitive, powerful and successful. Most men don t like to admit that they feel
fragile or vulnerable, and so are less likely to talk about their feelings with their friends, loved
ones or their doctors. This may be the reason that they often don t ask for help when they
become depressed. Men tend to feel that they should rely only on themselves and that it is
somehow weak to have to depend on someone else, even for a short time. This traditional view of
how men should be always tough and self reliant. Some men find that owning up to their
depression actually results in their partner rejecting them because of this. Even professionals
sometimes share this view, and may not diagnose depression in men when they should. Instead of
talking about how they feel, men may try to make themselves feel better by using alcohol or drugs.
This will usually make things worse in the long run. Their work will suffer and alcohol often leads

Fathers Should Get Paid Paternity Leave
Fathers are just as important as mothers to bond with their children. So, should they receive paid
paternity leave? Paternity leave is when a father takes time off to bond, help out, and adjust to the
new day to day life having a new addition to the family. Some people haven t heard the term,
paternity leave, and assumes you re talking about maternityleave; which is when the motheris
recuperating and caring for her new child. It sounds nice when a father takes time off to care for
their spouse and new born. Although, some men might find it more stressful to take time off
because they worry about their positioning and possible promotions in the future at work. All
fathers should receive paid paternityleave because it s beneficial in the workplace, more companies
and states will reconsider doing it, it s beneficial to the kids, and they become used to doing
more routine work around the house. One of the reasons that fathers should get paid paternity
leave is because it can be beneficial to the workplace. A lot of people wonder, how can someone
taking time off work actually help a company? We must realize, it s not an overnight benefit, it s a
benefit that will come over time in the long run after a bond has been created with the employee.
Covert says, People feel their company is committed to them in the long term, that their happiness
and wellbeing is prioritized over short term profit (Covert). When fathers receive paid paternity

himself from the outside world. This proves to be the main conflict for Holden since it leaves

Frida Film Analysis Essay
Frida and the Role of Women During the 1930 s and 1940 s, women of the world held virtually
one role and one role only...homemaker. This was no different for the women of Mexico, except
for one woman in particular, Frida Kahlo. Frida refused to accept the current ideals of society and
the accepted social norms by engaging in things that few women in history ever had. Fridawas
involved in politics, she was promiscuous with men and women, she painted pictures of herself in
ways that had never been done before, and she wore the clothes of her indigenous people as
opposed to the current fashions of the world. The movie Frida showcases all of these qualities. The

Frida had an affair with Leon Trotsky while he was living in her home. Trotsky was only one of
the many men and women with whom Frida had an affair with while she was married to Diego
Rivera. In the movie, it is even hinted at that Frida had an affair with Diego s ex wife. During the
roaring twenties and on into the 30 s and 40 s, sexuality and promiscuity were beginning to
become more prevalent in society. This new breed of women was called Flappers (About.com).
Even though these women were viewed as being promiscuous for their time period, some
women like Frida, were viewed as a novelty in society. Frida was far ahead of the times with her
sexuality and once again, she did not care what was thought of her actions and how she was
viewed by society. Director Taymor does and excellent job of portraying Frida as a promiscuous
and sexually curious woman in the movie. There are countless times during the movie where
Frida dances with a woman, kisses a woman, lays in a bed with a woman which was highly
frowned upon in society during that time. Frida was a very skilled painter who did mainly self
portraits where she expressed her feelings and portrayed herself in unconventional ways. Frida
would take some of the events of her life and paint them. For example, Frida painted the auto
accident she was in that left her with traumatizing pain, the miscarriages she suffered as a result of

Gary Soto Like Mexicans Summary
In Like Mexicans, Mexican American author Gary Soto recounts using his own personal
experience to describe his moral beliefs and cultural values that would have an impact on his
mindset. His cultural identity as a Mexican had a deep impact in shaping the principles of his life
and also his attitude towards making future decisions. Soto describes a period in his life where his
emotions, thoughts and beliefs had changed. In this story, Soto s familyexpected Soto to get married

Soto`s family assumed that people should get married with people equal to them, meaning same

Three Perspectives On Social Support
There are various social support approaches from which to draw from, for the purpose of this
paper, I will adopt and briefly introduce the three social support perspectives on social support
research outlined by Lakey and Cohen (Cohen, Underwood Gottlieb, 2000, p. 29). The three
perspectives on social supportare the (a) stress and coping perspective, (b) the social
constructionist perspective and (b) the relationship perspective (Lakey Cohen, 2000). The first
perspective suggests that social support acts as a buffer for the effect of stress (Cohen, Underwood
Gottlieb, 2000). The second proposes that our health is influenced by confidence in oneself, which
is a consequent of social support (Cohen, Underwood Gottlieb, 2000). The third perspective
however focuses on the foundations of relationships built within social support systems and how

The Blind Obedience And Authority
Blind Obedience to Authority
Millions of people were killed in Nazi Germany in concentration camps however, Hitler wouldn t
have been able to kill them all, nor could just a handful of people. Obedience is when society
influences where/ when an individual acts in response to a direct order from another individual,
who is usually the authority figure. It is assumed that without such an order the person would not
have acted in this way. In order to obey authority, the obeying person has to accept that it is
legitimate for the command to be made of them. Obedience involves a hierarchy of status.
Therefore, the person giving the order has a higher status than the person receiving the order.
Adolf Eichmann was executed in 1962 for his part in organizing the Holocaust, in which six million
Jewish people, as well as gypsies, communists and trade unionists were transported to death camps
and murdered in Nazi Germany and surrounding countries under Nazi control. Eichmann took
part in the planning of the collection, transportation and extermination of those to be killed
(Saul McLeod, 2007). At his trial in 1961, Eichmann expressed surprise at being hated by Jewish
people, saying that he had merely obeyed orders, and surely obeying orders could only be a
good thing (Saul McLeod, 2007). According to McLeod, Eichmann was declared sane by six
psychiatrists, he had a normal family life and observers at his trial described him as very average.

The Disastrous Effects of Human Invention Essay
In the modern world, we as despicable humans have consumed the most raw materials of
all the living organisms of Earth. We also have produced the most waste of all the living
organisms of Earth. From food scraps to plastics to carbon dioxide, we have polluted this planet
to its limit. The existence of the human race has turned our home into a giant landfill. Of the
many pollutants we put into the environment, one type stands out: plastics. Plastic was created to
be a convenient and cheap material for domestic use, but it has caused many problems like the
deaths of animals and the contamination of soil and water. One specific type of plastic that has

Australian Impressionism In Australia
Despite a brief lifespan between 1885 1903, the Heidelberg School or, more formally, the Australian
impressionism movement (Splatt and McLellan 1986, 1), significantly aided in defining the role of
landscape in Australian art (McCaughey 1979, 7). The Heidelberg School s establishment of a
unique national identity, use of techniques such as plein airism and Impressionism, accurate
portrayal of the Australian Landscape, and incorporation of the rural mythology, ...shaped the
Australian vision... and tied landscape to the white Australian identity (McCaughey 1979, 6 9 :

During the early settlement of Australia, art was primarily used for documentary purposes by

Fundamental Principles of Duct System or Air Distribution...
CHAPTER 3 METHODOLOGY This project work is gives the fundamental principles of duct
system or air distribution system design for multi story building. There are mainly three type of
duct sizing method namely equal friction method, modified friction method (static regain
method) and velocity reduction method. In present day the use of manual duct calculator is
normal and computer aided duct design is becoming more popular. Also to learn the friction
chart is very important to use this manual duct calculator because these are the foundation of the
other method. This will provide the necessary knowledge to duct design error and overcome to
these error. For designing the proper duct system requires load estimation which is used to
selecting the zone and air flow rate that the duct system distributes. Ones the air flow rate is has
been determined, the duct system component can be placed. This includes the supply and
returns diffusers and decides to air handling unit (AHU) or fan coil unit (FCU) is good for that

duct The duct which supplies the conditioned air from the air conditioning equipment to the space
to be cooled is called supply air duct. 3.2.2. Return air duct The duct which carries the
reciprocating air from the conditioned space back to the air conditioning equipment is called return

My First Lifeline By Maya Angelou Analysis
In My First Lifeline written by Maya Angelou, the author vividly explains a lifeline thrown to
her in a time of need. The essay became a reflection of Angelou s childhood and presented the
reasoning behind some of the traits she acquired. Angelou utilizes vernacular speech, figurative
language, and sensory details to aid in expressing the first lifeline thrown at her. Throughout the
essay, the use of vernacular speech can be observed when looking at the dialogue between
characters. For example, Good day, Mrs. Henderson. Momma responded with How you, Sister
Flowers? . In the dialogue between Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Flowers, it can be seen that
Flowers speaks respectively with sophistication while Mrs. Henderson speaks carelessly using
an older southern tone. This results in a clear comparison between the characters in the essay
which represent the importance of education and vocabulary. The constant use of the wrong verb
by Momma bothers the author, giving us a better idea of language s role in her life. In addition,
the author foreshadows part of the lifeline, so we gain a better understanding of the story when
the lifeline is presented later on. When describing the physical appearances and feelings of a
person, Angelou uses similes to give the reader a more accurate visualization and sense of
understanding. I sopped around ... like an old biscuit, dirty and inedible . In the opening sentence,
Angelou crafts a simile to accurately describe her feelings prior to

Social Networking Disadvantages
Social networking Social networking can be a fantastic source to set up cold calls. And,
pending how your networking conversation goes the call may not be as cold as the rest. Social
network usually does not get into direct sales. I have only seen one instance where three people
moved to a secluded table and started filling out a purchase order. Most contacts share
information and set up future communications. The main advantage of social networking and
cold calls are that you have names of contacts. They also have a good idea of your magic. In
some instances, they have already mentioned an interest in more information (see following
note). You should already have an idea of the organization and their activities. You will make
specific notes on upcoming events they might mention. NOTE: In the social networking
environment I view everyone s time equally. Social networking is used to make contacts. A little
qualification conversation takes place that is needed to set up future communications. When
those goals are met the people move onto more contacts. The entire event is used to make
friends, generate leads and get your name out to as many people as you can. It is not a good idea
to attempt to go into your pitch there. If you do, you are taking away other networking potentials
both for you and the person you are speaking with. If I am asked, I politely mention that I have two
others I need to speak with and get permission to contact them later. If the

The History Of Taxes During The Civil War
Barbara Kellar
BA333
The History of Taxes
In 1861, Lincoln levied the first federal income tax by signing the Revenue Act. Needing cash
with which to fund the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln and the Congress agreed to impose a 3
percent tax on annual incomes over $800.00. The wording of the Revenue Act was broadly
written to define income as a monetary gain derived from any kind of property, or from any
professional trade, employment, or vocation carried on in the United States or elsewhere or from
any source whatever. (A E Television Networks, 2014)
After the Civil War, the growing industrial and financial markets of the eastern United States
thrived. From the 1860s, to the 1880s, farmers formed political organizations such as the Grange, ...

Meaning that taxpayers pay more in taxes if they earn more in income. For example, taxpayers
may pay 25% of their income in taxes up to a certain amount, and 35% of everything earned over
that amount.
One theory about the use of the progressive taxation is that people or businesses who earn the same
or a similar amount of money should be taxed in the same or a similar way. A good example of
that theory states that two individuals making $75,000 per year should be taxed the same amount,
regardless of how they earned their income. While most countries have some form of progressive
taxation, it is usually combined with other taxes, such as a sales tax, and few countries treat all
income as exactly the same. This kind of taxation is still in effect today, bigger corporations are
taxed more than the smaller mom and pop businesses. The focus of what the government wanted to
tax changed over the years, it started with taxing incomes and then moved on to taxing tobacco and
distilled spirits and eliminated the income tax in 1872. It had a short lived revival in 1894 and 1895.
In the latter year, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that the income tax was unconstitutional because
it was not apportioned among the states in conformity with the Constitution. It wouldn t be until
1913 that the 16th amendment was passed and added to the Constitution that income tax would
become a permanent fixture in the U.S. tax system.

In less than an hour after take off at 1:20 MYT, Malaysia Airline lost contact with air traffic
controls. Malaysia Airlines reported for the missing flight at 7:24 MYT carrying 239 passengers
including 12 Malaysian crew.
The disappearance and supposedly crashed flight MH370 disturbed consumer confidence in the
airline with share prices falling. In a span of four months, another Malaysia Airline was shot down
over Ukraine. Even with the planned route airline earned criticism for travelling over conflict zone.
Malaysia Airlines was struggling for cost cutting to compete with a wave of new, low cost
without a distress signal. They lost almost US $137.4 million in the first quarter of 2014.
Malaysian Airlines made no profit since 2010. In last three years, Malaysia Airlines booked
losses of US $1.25 billion. The company s stock fell by 20% following the disappearance of
Flight MH370 and had fallen 80% over the previous five years. Following the disappearance,
ticket sale had declined. Especially in China it was down by 60% in the month of March. Also,
there was a spike in resignation from the flight crew though it was below industry norms.

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Movie Food, Inc
The movie/documentary Food, Inc. came out in 2008, directed and starred by Robert Kenner.
Kenners goal for this movie was to show the people of America the food they are eating and how
there food is being processed, feed, treated, and killed. Kenner uses a very serious and respectful
way to show the American people the foodthey are putting in their bodies. Kenner uses rhetorical
strategies such as ethos by showing you a few of the farmers that grow crops or raise animals that
we eat. Kenner also uses logos by showing the American people facts/ statistics. The last rhetorical
strategy Kenner uses is pathos. Kenner uses multiple people as a way to grab the watchers hearts
and attention. Kenner uses the rhetorical strategy ethos by introducing important people of the food
industry to the people of America. Kenner introduces us to Joel Salatin. He runs the farm called
Polyface farms . He compares amd explains in the movie/documentary how his farm is ran and
how the animals are fed and treated compared to corporations like Smithfield and Tyson. Kenner
features the Polyface Farmfrom anywhere to what the animals eats to where the animals live.
Salatin acknowledges that his animals do not eat corn or any product with corn involved.
Salatin guides us through the process of killing chickens and how they are handled and
packaged. Kenner also compared this process with with huge corporations like Tyson and how
their chickens are killed. Tyson has their chicken coops packed with so many that the chickens
are unable to move around so when chicken farmers feed the Tyson chickens they all keep
gaining weight since they are big that they can con carry their own weight anymore. The chicken
farmers emphasize that Tyson tries to make every chicken look alike so that when that chickens
are packaged there will not be a huge size discrepancy. Another man interviewed in the movie
/documentary is Moe Parr. Parr was a seed cleaner for local farmers around their town. Parr
addressed that Monacello (seed company) was sueing him for cleaning seeds. Monasello s
argument was that they have a contract with every farmer who buys seeds from them; that when
they save their seeds that they are expected to send those seeds back to the

Analysis Of What Dreams May Come
What Dreams May Come Vincent Ward s What Dreams May Come breathed brilliant life into
the tragic story of a family pulled apart by death and the journey one man makes through heaven
and even hell to save his soul mate, based from the book, What Dreams May Come by Richard
Matheson. This movie is boldly beautiful and a rollercoaster of feelings that brings you to the
emotional edge but sadly doesn t quite get us all the way over. In the beginning of the movies,
events occur rather quickly. Chris and Annie, unbelievably effective and heartbreakingly

His idea in this particular story is that heaven is built in a state of uncertainty. Those who are there
see and experience that things and people that they wish to see or do. The meaning behind thus, is
that Heaven is becoming who you want to be (Ebert). As Albert says in the filmHell is a place for
those who don t know they are dead. Souls who do not accept death or unable to comprehend it
are those who end up in hell. In the movie, as Chris travels the road to hell, he sees that the road
is paved with faces who are bitter and damned. Along the way he also hears the voice of his father
who is played by german director Werner Herzog (Ebert).
Even though the film ends in the common obligatory happily ever after fashion to which doesn t
appeal to the rest of the movie, it is nevertheless a fantastic film. It is truly a wonderful work of art
that translates the book in accurate proportions, which seems to be rare in the hollywood industry.

and nature. The digital artwork and incredibly touching performances; heighten all

For the fame or power? Well, that is how most people think the candidate, Hillary Clinton, thinks
of it. Trump, Cruz, Kasich, Clinton, and Sanders are the remaining candidates still in the race for

In 1905, Mr. H Piper filed a patent for a gasoline engine electric motor powertrain. According to
him, the electric motor would augment a gasoline engine, allowing a vehicle to accelerate from
zero to 25 miles an hour in 10 seconds, much faster than the gasoline engines of that time.
Ironically, when finally Mr.H Piper was granted the patent a few years later, normal engines were
capable of producing the same kind of acceleration.
Due to rapid advancements in the gasoline engine, the popularity of a hybrid car slowly
diminished untill again in the early to mid 1970s, the time of oil crisis. Many companies poured
funds to build experimental Hybrid Electric Vehicles. But as the oil became available again, the

The Importance Of Academic Dishonesty
Observational research has demonstrated that academic dishonesty is both a pervasive and
developing issue among Australian criminal justice and policing students. Studies have shown that
there are numerous individual attributes and relevant elements that support the pervasiveness of
academic dishonesty. A survey of seventy nine undergraduate criminal justice and policing students
studying at an Australian universitycame up with these observations upon statistics. It is evident
from the data that the male genderare the significant predictors of self reported academic dishonesty
. Australia summons the need to look at academic dishonesty conduct inside the accomplice of
future criminal justice and policing careers. Males inclusion in academic dishonesty might be
clarified by the gender role struggle that happens when males are associated into conventional parts
of manliness, steady stresses over individual accomplishments, disappointment and profession
accomplishments. Females were found to hold significantly higher adverse attitudes towards
cheating than males. These gender contrasts were related with a moderately little impact size. As
opposed to these discoveries on gender, some more reliable outcomes have developed with respect
to how much ethnicity or being from a non English talking foundation is prescient of academic
dishonesty. It is generally agreed that students from a non English speaking background are more

The second objective was to develop the weight scoring model for both types of cars to analyze
them on the grounds of safety, comfort, emissions, and incentives. Life cycle model for both the
cars were developed using the cost components like depreciation, fees and taxes, finance, fuel,
insurance, maintenance , and repairs. All the data for these cost components for both types of
engines were collected from the company websites and the EPA website. After the collection of
these data, the life cycle cost model has been used for calculating the total life cycle cost for
hybrid as well as petrol engines. The results were analyzed for both the alternatives and the
conclusions were made. Weight scoring model was also developed for the comparative analysis
which included the components like safety, comfort, emissions, and the incentives. The relative
weights for these components were assigned according to the priorities from the consumer point
of view. The rating points were also assigned and both the cars were rated according to the
aforesaid components. The sources for the data were the company websites and the EPA websites
for the emission data was also cited. The results of the Weight scoring model were then analyzed
and the final conclusions were made. The comparative study for both the cars revealed that

Functions Of A Operating System
Operating Systems, in the most simplest of terms, it is the chief program that manages all the
hardwares and softwares. It takes control for every process, file, section of memory and device.
They are like the middle man who arranges business deals between other people but in this case,
they it is between every hardware and software that he makes sure interact with each other correctly.
There are four essential managers of the operating system and they all work together, as a team, to

J. L Granatstein s Who Killed Canadian History
I will be examining J. L. Granatstein book Who Killed Canadian History? on its general concept
and solution of the problem at hand. First and foremost, it is important readers know who
Granatstein is because it will explain why he writes so passionately about Canadian history.
Granatstein is one of the most recognized Canadian historians and authors, who have written an
impressive total of 45 books. Along with writing many books regarding Canada, he has won
many awards in regards to his work such as the UBC Medal for Canadian Biography, the J. B.
Tyrrell Historical Gold Medal, the Vimy Award, and the Order of Canada. His academic
achievements include honorary degrees from Memorial University and the University of Calgary.
He is also a well known... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I figured it was appropriate that the author did not place the blame on one party. Instead, he
addressed the various individuals in Canada that were not providing a fair education in its national
and political history as well as for the reasons why this is such a big deal. This book was
educational as it gave readers brief and sometimes precise examples, like how Canadians lack
national and political conscience within the academic curriculum. The Country s educational
system needs to do a better job training its educators and ultimately restructuring curriculums to
deal with our current problems. The book s exterior appearance is bright red, and often red, is
associated with power. I believe that this book has the authority to make readers think about their
experience concerning Canadian history but unfortunately, a majority of the population does not
know enough of its history to learn from the mistakes and successes of our predecessors. Along
with the strengths of this book (argumentative perspective, educational, and exterior appearance),
there were a few weaknesses as well. To elaborate on Granasteins effort, I believe he wrote from an
androcentric perspective. There were times when he sounded like a grumpy old historian man. I
think his little rants reduced the effectiveness of the book. He made many prejudice remarks
concerning multiculturalism and social history (gender studies, urban, economics, demographics,
etc.). Since history is an accumulation of time periods and each period varies in length, and the
intensity of the events, it might be tough to establish the nation s needs for clear, measurable
standards for history. There is only so much information that an individual s brain can retain for a
period before they start losing

Symbolism In Hills Like White Elephant By Ernest Hemingway
A symbol is anything that stands for, or represents, something else. Many everyday objects we see
symbolize or stand for something deeper; our wedding rings represent love and commitment, teams
like the Sharks or Giants are named after animals and mythical creatures that symbolize strength,
power, and stability. Similarly, in literature, symbols are used to give an object, character, or
situation a deeper and more significant meaning. In literature, symbols can be ambiguous and
difficult to understand because the same symbolcan have different meanings; therefore, it is very
important to know when and where to use symbolism in a story. For example, the color red can
mean love, anger or danger depending on the context of the text.

This fact possibly symbolizes Jig s and the American s relationship. Throughout their conversation,
one can see that they rarely agree on anything and seem distant with each other. It is clear that Jig
wants more from her life and her relationship, but the American clearly wants to continue living
without the responsibility of a child. They are in a relationship, but their desires and expectations
from each other are not the same; they are like two train tracks that are running alongside but are
not truly together. They have come together at this point because it is at this junction that they will
either continue together or go their separate ways.
Hills Like White Elephants can be very confusing and difficult to understand because it is an
indirect conversation between two people about something important. Hemingway does not give
any direct details about the characters or the situation. However, if we read the story carefully and
pay attention to the symbols, the depth of the story will surprise us. That is the magic of
symbolism; it takes something simple and gives it layers that only entice and excite the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Multithreading

Also , this is a generation where almost everyone has a smartphone and hence many of us confuse
multithreading and multitasking as similar.
Almost all mobiles are Dual Core or Quad Core and this therefore means that the mobile has either
2 or 4 CPU s which are capable of executing different instructions at the same time.
The different threads can hereby run in parallel on different CPUs which can help execute
instructions faster and accurately.
Multi threading is not the same as multi tasking, multi tasking is the ability to run multiple

Willy Wonka Movie Comparison
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) is based on the children s book, which came out in
1964. However, this film is not the first film to come out based on the novel, Willy Wonka the
Chocolate Factory (1971) was also filmed. Both films were pretty good to me. In the 2005 version,
the famous Johnny Depp stars as Willy Wonka, an unusual and successful chocolate and candy
maker who owns an enormous magical factory. Freddie Highmore stars as Charlie Bucket, a young
and poor innocent boy who lives near the chocolate factory with his very loving family and is
fascinated with Willy Wonka and his candy.

It shows how a whole community revolved itself around chocolate and candy factory. Back in
the days where people worked in Willy Wonka s factory, everything was wonderful, jolly and
colorful. People had jobs because of his candy. However that all changed when Willy Wonka
closed his factory, every scene after that in the village where the factory was located it was
snowing and very dark. People were dressed in darker clothes, the streets were empty and
gloomy. This shows the importance food can have on a town. Chocolate was also important to
family life as shown in Charlie s family. Once Charlie ran home with the golden ticket he refused
to go to the factory because some people were willing to pay a lot of money for it and he knew
his family really needed the money. However, they convinced him to go to the factory with his
grandpa Joe, who used to work for Wonka and always tells Charlie of his happy days working at
the factory decades ago. People all over the world loved Willy Wonka s Chocolate bars. They
made the chocolate seem so good, that it made me want to have a bar myself. Although in the
film you do not really see much people eating Willy Wonka s candy besides the fat kid. I believe
the main character Charlie, only eats about 2 bars the whole movie. In one scene Wonka wanted
Charlie to try some of his teleported Wonka bar and Charlie only takes a little tiny bite of it, which
surprised me. Due to the fact that

Literary Devices In Nuns Fret Not At Their Convent s...
Constraints often have negative connotations, however in many situations they can be comforting
and provide people with a direction. Both physical and conceptual limitations provide comfort
especially when they provide a sense of familiarity. Literary devices such as imagery and irony
help to convey this theme throughout the poem. In Nuns Fret Not at Their Convent s Narrow
Room William Wordsworth uses literary devices, as well as examples of comforting confined
spaces, to prove that having conceptual limitations can be beneficial as well. Wordsworth uses
imagery to convey positive images of confined spaces. The first instance of this is in the
introduction of the poem, Nuns fret not at their convent s narrow room (Wordsworth 78). A nun
is
not unhappy with her small room because she is able to find peace there. This is where nuns are
able to connect with god. The connections that they feel there helps to provide them with
comfort. Even though it may be a small room, it is what they are familiar with and have grown
accustomed to. Over time they probably haven t noticed the small space of the convent because
it has been over shadowed by the positive memories formed within the building. Imagery is used
throughout the poem to continually convey the theme. All of the images that Wordsworth
portrays lead to the same conclusion. Each image that Wordsworth creates in the poem is of a
confined space. However, the subject of the image is never trying to flee from this place. In
many instances they are drawn towards these compact spaces. All because of the same general
reasons, it is comfortable, safe, and familiar. Wordsworth uses bees in the Peak of Furness fells
to strengthen his point. The imagery used by Wordsworth depicts how vast the mountains are,
High as the highest Peak of Furness fells, Will murmur by the hour of the foxglove bells (79).
The Peak of Furness fells is a very large, open, mountain range in England. There is plenty of
open space, so the bee can go anywhere it would like. However, it chooses the small foxglove
bell. This is where the bee is happiest because it gives the bee the pollen that it needs. The bee will
continue to return here because it has become comfortable with the foxglove bell.

The Philosophy Of Moral Philosophy
Moral Philosophy is rooted in four areas of standards, one of which is the central focus of
Hedonist thinking. The standard of moral philosophy that corresponds directly to Hedonism is
known as the Value Theory. The Value Theory establishes what is valuable in and of itself, what is
worth pursuing for its own sake 1. Goods that are valuable in their own right are intrinsic values, as
referred to in the previous sentence. Contrary to intrinsic values, instrumental goods have the ability
to lead to valuable things, but don t themselves hold significant value.
Hedonism, at its core, is centered around the pursuit of pleasure and the elimination of pain.
Consequently, when this balance obtained, Hedonist s will argue that an individual is leading a
tranquil life. Above all else, Hedonist philosophers John Stewart Mill and Epicurus, place pleasure
on a pedestal, in the way that pleasure stands alone when considering what is good in its own right.
Furthermore, they provide their insights on goes into the moral doctrine of Hedonism. The ultimate
good , according to the Hedonist school of thought, is always pleasure, however, this is not a united
stance by all philosophers 2. Opponents to Hedonist thinking, include Jean Kazez, Robert Nozick,
and Chris Heathwood. I argue that pleasure is not the only intrinsic good, rather it is one among
many other goods that hold intrinsic value. To assert my position, I will first discuss Epicurus and
Mill s explanation on what makes

The first thing Babycakes needs to do is to be financially ready. Babycakes needs to set financial

cupcakes. Babycakes will analyze and revise their budget by adjusting and making room for new
and more products in an effort to make a profit. As a business, Babycakes will use social media to

For example, for the month of October, 23 days (6 days per week times 4 weeks) at 1,000
expected units plus Halloween s expected unit sales (1,500) equaled 24,500 units times the price
of$3.50 equaled the total net sales for the month of October of $85,750. The same formula was
used for the months of November and December in an attempt to budget from one month to the
next. The total 4th quarter sales budget, with the holiday expected unit sales came to a total of
$250,950. These totals can be used as the comparison budget for next year s budgeting since this
is the first year for Babycakes in LA. The figures presented are strictly sales predictions and do not
include daily operations cost. (Short, K., 2016)
Flexible Budget. A flexible budget can be used to allow the manager to look into spending or
making changes in adjusting expenses to be able to see a company s future financial performance.
Flexible budgeting can show a manager that they have overspent or not have enough cupcakes to
be sold or not priced correctly. Flexible budgets allow for changes in supplies, products, cost of
goods, and expenses if needed.
Budgets should allow for flexibility to find ways to make a profit verses a fixed budget where
you know exactly what you will spend and what you get in return. It might be a little risky to allow
a flex budget but, this way

  • 2. Hoplite Warfare And Ancient Greece Hoplite Warfare In Ancient Greece When one thinks of Ancient Greece, one does not typically think of hoplite warfare. However, hoplite warfare is the quintessential factor in Greece becoming the country that it is today. Without this warfare Greece would have fallen to a number of countries not making Greece the independent country that it is today. Thus, making hoplitewarfare the most important aspect of Greek history. As Greek population began to increase, city states began to increase as well. Along with the rise of city states came to question a new form of warfare. This warfare is called hoplite warfare. Hoplite warfare was formed c. 700 BC. Hoplites are a group of heavily armed soldiers. Hoplites are supported on the left arm by a large round shield. Hoplites are also equipped in their right hand with a long spear, six to eight feet long. Lastly, hoplites are equipped with a short sword. Hoplites fight in an organized line called a phalanx. They would overlap their shields, thus producing an impenetrable wall. This phalanx would be able to spread out into a line and place itself into valleys or between mountains, causing their enemy to have to go through them rather than around. This phalanx would work very well within Greece due to the geography of Greece itself. Greece has many mountains and valleys that work well for this type of warfare. Throughout this paper you will learn why hoplite warfare is the single most effective type of warfare in Greek history. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. What Was The Golden Age Of The Victorian Era Queen Victoria of England ruled from 1837 to 1901, making her the second longest reigning monarch in England. During her reign, an entire era was coined in her name by historians. To what is considered the golden age of England, the Victorian period brought a time of improvements in society, great achievement, and revolutionary ideas that paved the way for modern times. Like today, the Victorian society functioned on three main classes: upper class, middle classand working class. The upper class consisted of the wealthy, nobles, and anyone with relations to the royal family. These people could afford the life of luxury because depending on who you were, your family probably owned a major mining or shipping business. People in this class saw many privileges like access to phenomenal education and could import expensive goods from different countries. One class that was growing each day was the middle class. These citizens lived in suitable conditions and many owned smaller but vast businesses like tailor shops. Multiple businesses led to the increase of job opportunities. These opportunities for jobs is what helped the middle class grow during this period. The final and bottom class is the working class. People in this class lived in poverty and sometimes were even homeless. Categories to describe the working class were skilled workers and unskilled workers. The skilled worker would be offered a job specialized to his skill, but if the person was unskilled, he could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The LEDs will also be used to paint words right into the road, warning drivers of an animal on the road, a detour ahead, an accident, or construction work. Central control stations will be able to instantly customize the lines and words in real time, alleviating traffic congestion and making the roads more efficient as well as safer. Cities and towns will be able to customize the lines for roads and parking spaces to meet their own unique needs. For example, here in Sandpoint, Idaho, we have Lost in the 50 s Weekend each May. Currently, the city puts out orange cones to remark the parking places and block off streets for the parade, car show, and street dance. She even helped Johnny when he was accused of murdering Bob on purpose (Clark, 10). By doing this, Cherri does betray her own group, but she does so because she cares about both the Socs and the Greasers. The Effect Of Personality On Teacher Leadership The Effect of Personality on Teacher Leadership Mariana Quezada, Harmony Rain, Joshua Neely, Stevie Lang, and Morgan Copas Flagler College Methods This study looks at the effect personality has on teacher leadership. In this study, the independent variable is based off of the Big Five Inventory (BFI), and is a person s T score in each of the Big Five personality traits. The dependent variable would be the scores in each of the seven domains on the Teacher Leadership Inventory (TLI). An Analysis of Variability (ANOVA) will be used to determine if there is a relationship between personality and teacher leadership. In previous research by Aydin, Balvi, and Alci (2013), it was shown that neuroticismhas negative effects on all teaching competencies examined, and extroversion is significantly and positively correlated to teaching competency, so this study will look at the effects of extroversion and neuroticism on teacher leadership. In this study, it is predicted that there will be a relationship between personality and leadership, and while Extroversion will have a positive correlation with the seven teacher leadership domains, neuroticism will have a negative correlation with the seven teacher leadership domains. • 13. The Human Body And All The Organ System The human body is in a constant state of movement even when seemingly still. This constant movement is crucial for the human body and all the organ systems it contains. Movement although overlooked is more complicate than many would believe. The human body has many functions which are maintained by the movement of muscles and blood, as well as other bi products of the organ systems. The Integumentary, Cardiovascular, and Tissue systems are capable of movement both internal and external allowing for the continuous cycle that keeps the human body functioning. The most important system that relies on movement is the Cardiovascular system. The Cardiovascular system is mainly composed of the heart, blood vessels, and about 5.5 liters of blood. ()The system itself is constantly moving, internally and externally.() The heart itself is a muscular pumping organ that helps with the transport of oxygen and waste via the blood system. () Specifically the pulmonary circulation, composed of the right atrium and ventricle, is primarily used to transport deoxygenated blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs in which the blood is filled with oxygen, returning to the heart and then transported by the systemic circulation, composed of the left atrium and ventricle, which carries the blood to the rest of the body. ()The systemic circulation also carries waste away from the tissue and carries deoxygenated blood back to the heart.() Blood vessels are also a part of this process because ... In present day the use of manual duct calculator is normal and computer aided duct design is becoming more popular. Also to learn the friction chart is very important to use this manual duct calculator because these are the foundation of the other method. • 28. My First Lifeline By Maya Angelou Analysis In My First Lifeline written by Maya Angelou, the author vividly explains a lifeline thrown to her in a time of need. The essay became a reflection of Angelou s childhood and presented the reasoning behind some of the traits she acquired. Angelou utilizes vernacular speech, figurative language, and sensory details to aid in expressing the first lifeline thrown at her. Throughout the essay, the use of vernacular speech can be observed when looking at the dialogue between characters. For example, Good day, Mrs. Henderson. Momma responded with How you, Sister Flowers? . In the dialogue between Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Flowers, it can be seen that Flowers speaks respectively with sophistication while Mrs. Henderson speaks carelessly using an older southern tone. This results in a clear comparison between the characters in the essay which represent the importance of education and vocabulary. The constant use of the wrong verb by Momma bothers the author, giving us a better idea of language s role in her life. In addition, the author foreshadows part of the lifeline, so we gain a better understanding of the story when the lifeline is presented later on. When describing the physical appearances and feelings of a person, Angelou uses similes to give the reader a more accurate visualization and sense of understanding. A good example of that theory states that two individuals making $75,000 per year should be taxed the same amount, regardless of how they earned their income. While most countries have some form of progressive taxation, it is usually combined with other taxes, such as a sales tax, and few countries treat all income as exactly the same. • 32. Rhetorical Analysis Of The Movie Food, Inc The movie/documentary Food, Inc. came out in 2008, directed and starred by Robert Kenner. Kenners goal for this movie was to show the people of America the food they are eating and how there food is being processed, feed, treated, and killed. Kenner uses a very serious and respectful way to show the American people the foodthey are putting in their bodies. Kenner uses rhetorical strategies such as ethos by showing you a few of the farmers that grow crops or raise animals that we eat. Kenner also uses logos by showing the American people facts/ statistics. The last rhetorical strategy Kenner uses is pathos. Kenner uses multiple people as a way to grab the watchers hearts and attention. Kenner uses the rhetorical strategy ethos by introducing important people of the food industry to the people of America. Kenner introduces us to Joel Salatin. He runs the farm called Polyface farms . He compares amd explains in the movie/documentary how his farm is ran and how the animals are fed and treated compared to corporations like Smithfield and Tyson. Kenner features the Polyface Farmfrom anywhere to what the animals eats to where the animals live. Salatin acknowledges that his animals do not eat corn or any product with corn involved. Salatin guides us through the process of killing chickens and how they are handled and packaged. Kenner also compared this process with with huge corporations like Tyson and how their chickens are killed. Tyson has their chicken coops packed with so many that the chickens are unable to move around so when chicken farmers feed the Tyson chickens they all keep gaining weight since they are big that they can con carry their own weight anymore. The chicken farmers emphasize that Tyson tries to make every chicken look alike so that when that chickens are packaged there will not be a huge size discrepancy. Another man interviewed in the movie /documentary is Moe Parr. Parr was a seed cleaner for local farmers around their town. Parr addressed that Monacello (seed company) was sueing him for cleaning seeds. Monasello s argument was that they have a contract with every farmer who buys seeds from them; that when they save their seeds that they are expected to send those seeds back to the ... Analysis Of What Dreams May Come What Dreams May Come Vincent Ward s What Dreams May Come breathed brilliant life into the tragic story of a family pulled apart by death and the journey one man makes through heaven and even hell to save his soul mate, based from the book, What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson. This movie is boldly beautiful and a rollercoaster of feelings that brings you to the emotional edge but sadly doesn t quite get us all the way over. To elaborate on Granasteins effort, I believe he wrote from an androcentric perspective. There were times when he sounded like a grumpy old historian man. I think his little rants reduced the effectiveness of the book. He made many prejudice remarks concerning multiculturalism and social history (gender studies, urban, economics, demographics, etc.). Many everyday objects we see symbolize or stand for something deeper; our wedding rings represent love and commitment, teams like the Sharks or Giants are named after animals and mythical creatures that symbolize strength, power, and stability. Similarly, in literature, symbols are used to give an object, character, or situation a deeper and more significant meaning. Freddie Highmore stars as Charlie Bucket, a young and poor innocent boy who lives near the chocolate factory with his very loving family and is fascinated with Willy Wonka and his candy. Willy Wonka and his chocolate factory was at its prime, selling thousands and thousands of his famous candy bars all over the world. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It shows how a whole community revolved itself around chocolate and candy factory. Back in the days where people worked in Willy Wonka s factory, everything was wonderful, jolly and colorful. People had jobs because of his candy. However that all changed when Willy Wonka closed his factory, every scene after that in the village where the factory was located it was snowing and very dark. People were dressed in darker clothes, the streets were empty and gloomy. This shows the importance food can have on a town. Chocolate was also important to family life as shown in Charlie s family. Once Charlie ran home with the golden ticket he refused to go to the factory because some people were willing to pay a lot of money for it and he knew his family really needed the money. However, they convinced him to go to the factory with his grandpa Joe, who used to work for Wonka and always tells Charlie of his happy days working at the factory decades ago. People all over the world loved Willy Wonka s Chocolate bars. They made the chocolate seem so good, that it made me want to have a bar myself. Although in the film you do not really see much people eating Willy Wonka s candy besides the fat kid. I believe the main character Charlie, only eats about 2 bars the whole movie. In one scene Wonka wanted Charlie to try some of his teleported Wonka bar and Charlie only takes a little tiny bite of it, which surprised me. Due to the fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Literary Devices In Nuns Fret Not At Their Convent s... Constraints often have negative connotations, however in many situations they can be comforting and provide people with a direction. Both physical and conceptual limitations provide comfort especially when they provide a sense of familiarity. Literary devices such as imagery and irony help to convey this theme throughout the poem. In Nuns Fret Not at Their Convent s Narrow Room William Wordsworth uses literary devices, as well as examples of comforting confined spaces, to prove that having conceptual limitations can be beneficial as well. Wordsworth uses imagery to convey positive images of confined spaces. The first instance of this is in the introduction of the poem, Nuns fret not at their convent s narrow room (Wordsworth 78). A nun is not unhappy with her small room because she is able to find peace there. This is where nuns are able to connect with god. The connections that they feel there helps to provide them with comfort. Even though it may be a small room, it is what they are familiar with and have grown accustomed to. Over time they probably haven t noticed the small space of the convent because it has been over shadowed by the positive memories formed within the building. Imagery is used throughout the poem to continually convey the theme. All of the images that Wordsworth portrays lead to the same conclusion. Each image that Wordsworth creates in the poem is of a confined space. However, the subject of the image is never trying to flee from this place. In many instances they are drawn towards these compact spaces. All because of the same general reasons, it is comfortable, safe, and familiar. Wordsworth uses bees in the Peak of Furness fells to strengthen his point. The imagery used by Wordsworth depicts how vast the mountains are, High as the highest Peak of Furness fells, Will murmur by the hour of the foxglove bells (79). The Peak of Furness fells is a very large, open, mountain range in England. There is plenty of open space, so the bee can go anywhere it would like. However, it chooses the small foxglove bell. This is where the bee is happiest because it gives the bee the pollen that it needs. The bee will continue to return here because it has become comfortable with the foxglove bell. ... • 56. The Philosophy Of Moral Philosophy Moral Philosophy is rooted in four areas of standards, one of which is the central focus of Hedonist thinking. The standard of moral philosophy that corresponds directly to Hedonism is known as the Value Theory. The Value Theory establishes what is valuable in and of itself, what is worth pursuing for its own sake 1. Goods that are valuable in their own right are intrinsic values, as referred to in the previous sentence. Contrary to intrinsic values, instrumental goods have the ability to lead to valuable things, but don t themselves hold significant value. Hedonism, at its core, is centered around the pursuit of pleasure and the elimination of pain. Consequently, when this balance obtained, Hedonist s will argue that an individual is leading a tranquil life. Above all else, Hedonist philosophers John Stewart Mill and Epicurus, place pleasure on a pedestal, in the way that pleasure stands alone when considering what is good in its own right. Furthermore, they provide their insights on goes into the moral doctrine of Hedonism. The ultimate good , according to the Hedonist school of thought, is always pleasure, however, this is not a united stance by all philosophers 2. Opponents to Hedonist thinking, include Jean Kazez, Robert Nozick, and Chris Heathwood. I argue that pleasure is not the only intrinsic good, rather it is one among many other goods that hold intrinsic value. To assert my position, I will first discuss Epicurus and Mill s explanation on what makes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The figures presented are strictly sales predictions and do not include daily operations cost. (Short, K., 2016) Flexible Budget. A flexible budget can be used to allow the manager to look into spending or making changes in adjusting expenses to be able to see a company s future financial performance. Flexible budgeting can show a manager that they have overspent or not have enough cupcakes to be sold or not priced correctly. Flexible budgets allow for changes in supplies, products, cost of goods, and expenses if needed. Budgets should allow for flexibility to find ways to make a profit verses a fixed budget where you know exactly what you will spend and what you get in return. It might be a little risky to allow a flex budget but, this way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
