Dracula Anti-Christian Beliefs
Dracula, superstitions of the past
Anti Christianity is a major reoccurring theme throughout Bram Stoker s Dracula. The novel portrays
Anti Christian values and beliefs, through one of its characters. Dracula one of the main characters in
the novel is used to take on the characteristics of the AntiChrist. Stoker uses many beliefs from the
Christian religion to display numerous amounts of Anti Christian values, superstitious beliefs of the
protection towards evil, and to compare and contrast the powers of God with those of Dracula. It is a
theme that is used throughout the entire book. There are many ways that Bram Stoker s character
Dracula can be considered the AntiChrist, mostly because of the showing of Anti Christian values and

To What Extent Is Tartuffe A Comedy Of Manners
Moliere wrote Tartuffe in 1664, almost immediately followed by it s first performance the same year,
which was quickly censored by King Louis XIV who ruled France during this time. This was believed
to be because of the play s suspected attacks on the catholic church. A Comedy of Manners is a play
which is concerned with satirizing society s behavior and manners. A manner is the way in which
individuals perform everyday duties. It suggests a polite and agreeable behavior. Comedy of Manners
is known as high comedy since it includes a sophisticated wit and talent in the composition and
writing of the script. In this sense it is both academic and but opposite of slapstick, which requires
little ability with the script and is to a great extent

Summary Of The Phantom Menace By Padme Amidale
In 1999, The Phantom Menace was released into theaters. The beginning of the saga was brought to
understand where the original trilogy s villain origin story came from and where the famous twins
Luke and Leia came from. Leia stole the hearts of many in the original trilogy and it was now her
mother s turn to take the spotlight. Many did not welcome her character with open arms and rejected
her. She was the young naïve queen with a crazy fashion sense who had a crush on a nine year old
boy. At a very young age, Padme was interested in politics which happens to be a male dominated
career. Fourteen year old Padme Amidala was elected queen of Naboo. While many would call her
naïve, the planet elected the young for their purity and believed age brought corruption. Age could
have brought naivety, but Padme had proven herself a leader her people trusted that once her second
term ended they wanted her to continue leading the planet. In episode I, Amidala deals with the
struggle of the Trade Federation who wants the planet to surrender to them while they are controlled
by Darth Sidious. It was a plan to gain control over the galaxy with easier access since the young can
be easily influenced. Amidala refused that easy access over her planet from the Trade Federation. She
is level headed to not directly take action for war but to persuade the senate for a plead of help. When
the escape to Coruscant is delayed, she takes the opportunity to widen her knowledge about the planet

Informative Essay On American Football
American football is an amazing sport to watch or play that teaches you a lot of life lessons. Football
is a very challenging sport to play. I am going to be talking about the History and who created it, the
different levels of it, and the rules to the game. So strap up your helmet and pads and get ready to

of rugby which is very similar to football but a lot different a the same time. In 1869 the first actual
game of football was played which was Princeton vs. the Rutgers but it wasn t until 1880 that Walter
Camp, a rugby player out of Yale created the rules. Football had some bumps when it first began from
the Amateur Athletic Union but got it all settled out and before you know it the first paycheck was
given out in the late 1890 s. After that, more and more paychecks were handed out and they kept
getting bigger and bigger. Now football is one of the most popular sports in America and has it s own

Reflective Essay For College
I believe that one of my greatest strengths is my diversity of backgrounds. In college, my contrasting
majors of Political Science and Theatre gave me the opportunity to explore topics both analytical and
creative in nature. I was heavily involved in our university s Theatre program, yet at the same time
was able to pursue internships with a political campaign and with the House of Representatives, as
well as remain active in the school s Music and Digital Media Arts departments. I graduated cum
laude and would go on to participate in both the political and Theatre communities of the Twin Cities
on both an amateur and professional level. This background gives me a perspective that is relatively
unique, compared to those who may have studied specifically in Business or Human Resources
programs for their secondary education.

The Automobile And The Environmental Impacts Of The...
When in 1885 Karl Benz designed, and developed the first 4 stroke engine that would later become
the very heart of the first automobile that we are familiar with today. At the time however, the early
inventors and pioneers of the automobile industry thought just of their work as a horseless carriage
and nothing more, none of them anticipated the age of the automobile that was about to be ushered in,
for they just saw the new technology strictly in the context of what it was meant to replace. The
automobile however, developed into so much more, becoming one of the defining industries of the
entire 20th century and affecting people s lives in a multitude ways, but most especially the social
aspect. This essay would like to highlight the importance that the automobile had on the cultural shift
towards the phenomenon of suburbanization and the environmental impacts that ensued due to the
change in urban planning to accommodate for our car dependent culture. Ironically enough, when the
environmental impacts associated with automobiles are discussed, the one that is not inherently
apparent to us, specifically carbon emissions from vehicles is what takes much of the limelight when
compared to an issue that is rapidly unfolding right before we. The exponential increase in urban
sprawl not only involves the loss of massive amounts of natural habitat but also dramatically increases
the risk of flooding in these same suburbs. Disregarding the unsustainability of the continued growth

Bipolar Disorder, And Depression
Bipolar Disorder, Manic Depressive Disorder, and Depression When looking at the difference between
Bipolar Disorder, Manic Depressive Disorder, and Depression there are not many difference. One
could look at the symptoms and see that with each there is a risk of moving towards the next disorder.
An individual can be diagnosed with the lowest form of depression and if not taken care of can push
the individual to the extreme without ever really knowing. Knowing the symptoms of each disorder,
taking time to have tests run, having the diagnose given, and starting on the right track to controlling
the disorder can most likely save one s life in the grand scheme of like. When an individual thinks of

Disney Negative Image
Some Disney Films Portray a Negative Image on Kids Lives in Today s World
I. Introduction
a. The image that Disney s films portray their stories is a very powerful product that can influence our
kids in a negative way.
b. One example of this is the film The Princess and the Frog. In this movie, we can see that an African
American girl named Tiana lived poor in the 1920 s. The plot of this story is that this poor girl wanted
to finish the dream of her father, which is to create a restaurant.
c. Like most of Disney s movies, the damsel in distress ends up marrying the prince charming,
resolving all her social and economic problems. This kind of message to a little girl can create a wrong
image of what her life should be like. Therefore, it portrays a negative influence in a young girl life.
d. THESIS STATEMENT: Disney films create a fantasy world that young audience capture as an
example of how life should be. This creates an issue, because it teaches kids that money is the solution
for all problems by selling your dignity, they also teach that hard work is not enough in order to
accomplish your dreams, and they also label the difference in social status.
II. BODY ONE
a. Disney films create a fantasy world, which misleads kids imagination of how the real world should
be lived.
b. In most of the Disney films, money is a factor to save the lives of the main characters. This was not
the exception in the film The Princess and the Frog.
1. As part of her solution, Tiana has to kiss the frog, which is a prince and in return he would give her
money to by the old mill. She ends up giving him the kiss for the money he promised.
2. Even though this scene seems harmless, this is an example of how Disney films are portraying a
negative influence on how a girl sells herself to get the money she needs.
3. The message here is that it is acceptable to sell your dignity for money in return for what you need.
4. For younger kids this can be an example of how to acquire things in life.
III. BODY TWO
a. In this film, they also teach that hard work is not enough in order to accomplish your dreams.
1. Throughout the film, Tiana is depicted to be a hard worker. She is also portrayed following the
values her parents taught her.

Absurdity In The Stranger
World Literature
Ms. Megan Wall
Jin Woo Lee
September 23, 2015
The Stranger Essay: Topic One The Stranger, written by a famous French philosopher Albert Camus,
tells a story of a young Algerian man, Meursault, who perceives his life, values, behavioural norms
differently from other people in his society. Throughout the course of the rest of the novel, readers can
easily notice Meursault as a detached and indifferent character who shows difficulty in expressing his
emotions. However, by characterising Meursault in such ways, Camus indirectly challenges the
society s conventional moral standards and brings up the idea of absurdism philosophy. By describing
the actions of Meursault and minor characters, Camus successfully conveys ideas such ... Show more

This idea is clearly shown in part one when Meursault describes Raymond s encounter with the
policeman after the beating incident. Meursault describes, right then the cop slapped him a thick,
heavy smack right across the face ; this quote clearly shows that concept of justice is flawed in this
society because although people criticises Raymond for hitting his mistress and calls the act immoral,
they deem the cop s action to be moral (36). Physically, both violence are nearly the same, yet one is
regarded as wrong, and the other, is justified. Through Meursault s interaction with the policeman,
Camus implicitly challenges the truth of society s accepted moral order and the concept of justice. In
addition, the trial scene in part 2 of the novel also conveys this theme. Although Meursault s act of
murder is a serious crime, it seems as if the magistrate and the juries are not judging Meursault for his
murder, but for his indifferent behaviour toward Maman s death because the latter explanation makes
more sense to them. For example, when the magistrate gives his closing statement, Meursault
describes it was then that he talked about my attitude toward Maman. It went on much longer than
when he talking about my crime (100). In addition, the magistrate claims that Meursault s indifferent
reaction over Maman s death threatens the moral

Zootopia Film Analysis
Leadership Film Analysis
Disney s Zootopia is a great depiction of James Kouzes s and Barry Posner s Five Practices of
Exemplary Leadership. The main protagonist, Judy Hopps, exemplifies those practices model the way,
inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the heart.
The first practice is model the way. According to Kouzes and Posner (2014), in order to model the
way a leader must clarify values by finding your voice and affirming shared values and set the
example by aligning actions with shared values. In the beginning of the movie Judy is putting on a
play and at the end she talks about how Zootopia is a place where you can be anything you want to be.

She also enlisted others at the end of the movie when she made her speech. During that speech, Judy
says, try to make the world a better place by accepting and understanding others. By asking the people
of Zootopia to try to understand each other she is appealing to the shared aspiration of making
Zootopia safer and a place where you can be anything you want to be.
The third practice is challenge the process. According to Kouzes and Posner (2014), challenging the
process means to search for opportunities by seizing the initiative and by looking outward for
innovative ways to improve and experiment and take risks by constantly generating small wins and
learning from experience . Judy challenged the process by seizing the initiative and taking the otter
case, even when Chief Bogo didn t want her to take it. She also looked outwards by enlisting Nick. By
enlisting Nick, Judy found an innovative way to take on the case because Nick was a criminal and
thought like a criminal, therefore it gave Judy a new perspective. Judy also challenged the process by
and took a risk by becoming the first ever bunny cop. Judy celebrated every small victory she had, she
celebrated after every little clue they found about the missing otter case. Throughout the whole movie,
Judy was always challenging the process because she was changing the status quo of what a bunny,
and all animals, should be able to do.
The fourth practice is enable

Classical Socratic, Socratic And Hellenic Views Of Thought...
Pre Socratic, Socratic, and Hellenic views of thought are all incorporated in order to provide a holistic
explanation of The Greeks view towards one s control of their own life. Even though Greek
Philosophy encompasses many different ways of thought, Greek Philosophy assumes a general
disproval of one being able to determine the outcomes of their actions. The idea is theoretically
possible to some Greek philosophers and schools of thought but assumes complete knowledge of the
cosmos and universals, which is also contradicted as being attainable by the same philosophers. Pre
Socratic philosophers tended to seek natural explanations for happenings as Pythagoras does when
determining one s will over the events that occur in their life. Pythagoras general association with
mathematics is showed in his philosophy. Pythagoras claimed that philosophical inquiries were all
explainable by mathematics and physics if given accurate data (Boxing Pythagoras). In theory,
Pythagoras says that one can control the occurrences in their life, but in order to they would have to be
completely knowledgeable of the physics behind the world and be able to apply it to the particular
situation. This also assumes that the data is correct and not obtained through false observation or
measurement. According to Pythagoras explanation of controlling or predicting future events, it is
possible to manipulate physical entities to change the outcome of events. However, by him explaining
this concept, he

Climate Change Is A Hot Topic
Climate change is a hot topic (pun intended), with supporters on both sides. Some claim that climate
change is a hoax, while others agree that it is happening. I believe it is important to understand that the
earth s climate does naturally go through cycles look at our geological history of ice ages and
hothouses but also recognize that human activity has greatly advanced the rate at which our planet is
warming.
The planet naturally goes through periods of extreme cooling and heating. That s why we have had
multiple periods of ice age (when polar ice grows far beyond its normal range) and the opposite,
hothouse periods (when all the polar ice melts). Currently, we are in an interglacial period (when it s
not too hot nor too cold). Interglacial periods are best for human life because our bodies have not
evolved to withstand radical high or low temperatures.
Ever since man began to shift from a nomadic hunter gatherer society to an agrarian society, we have
been gradually using more and more of the earth s natural resources with little thought of the
consequences. Britain began its age of exploration because they sought more land to provide them
with more natural resources as they had exhausted most of what they previously had. When Britain
colonized territory here in North America, they once again had an unlimited supply of huge trees to
make large navy ships, and land to grow crops such as tobacco. This began rapid deforestation that
still has not stopped. As the

Css And Cascading Style Sheet
CSS or Cascading Style Sheet is a language used to format a document written in a markup language
such as HTML. It is used primarily to format elements such as colour, font, layout, and positioning.
CSS can be used in three different ways. External, embedded and inline. Each of which I will expand
on later. CSS was initially released in December 1996 and has evolved through 4 levels, CSS 1, 2, 2.1
and 3. CSS gives web designers the ability to create rules and apply these rules to multiple different
elements within a website. In the case of External CSS, this way of formatting being completely
separate from the design means any change required by the client can be altered on the style sheet and
will effect every instance within the site where the CSS is being used. I will expand more on the three
types of CSS later in this presentation. CSS use can lead to faster page downloads [1] Most web
browsers will load rules from the CSS once and then cache the data to use when each page is loaded.
This means using CSS in websites can lead to lighter page loads [1], meaning as the browser is simply
pulling information from the cache, the web pages will load much faster then without. This will
therefore result in lower requirements from the server side. Since the majority of CSS is completely
separate to the content of the website, making small, spread changes or troubleshooting any design
problems becomes simple. It allows the designer to control every visual aspect of the

Improving Health, Education, And The Environment
The MDGs identify and quantify specific gains that could be made to improve the lives of the world s
poor people. Their aim is to reduce poverty while improving health, education, and the environment.
These goals were endorsed by 189 countries at the September 2000 UN Millennium General
Assembly in New York. They focus on significant, measurable improvements for the efforts of the
World Bank Group, governments, other international organizations, and other partners in the
development community. The MDGs grew out of the agreements and resolutions that have resulted

But providing assistance isn t limited to providing financial aid. Developing countries may also
benefit if trade barriers are lowered, hence allowing a freer exchange of goods and services.
Achieving the goals is an enormous challenge. Partnerships between the Bank Group, the UN
Development Group (UNDG), and other organizations, as well as between donors and developing
countries, are the only way to ensure coordinated and complementary efforts. The UNDG consists of
the many UN programs, funds, and agencies engaged in development assistance and related activities.
The Bank Group participates in the UNDG and supports its framework for greater coherence and
cooperation in UN development operations.
Strategic Framework
The Bank Group s strategic framework concentrates on the twin pillars of:
1. building an appropriate climate for investment, jobs, and sustainable growth so that economies will
grow,
2. Investing in and empowering poor people to participate in development.
In recent years, the executive directors have underscored the continued relevance of these priorities,
have reaffirmed the need for selectivity in the Bank Group s work, and have called for greater
collaboration with development partners. In order focus on those pillars, the executive directors have
standardized the operational policies, practices and procedures. Furthermore, they have discussed the
needs of meeting requests of low income, heavily indebted and fragile countries. They have also

Throughout the history of science, there has not been an animal creature that sparked the human s

dinosaurs have become a representation of the vulnerability of our species and the dramatic forces of

Julius Caesar Rhetoric Analysis
In the play, Julius Caesar, the big highlight of the story was when Marc Antony swayed the opinions
of a whole crowd with just his words. How did he do it? The conspirators had been planning their
attack for a long time, so they should have been able to win over the commoners 100%. And they
almost did. After killing Caesar, Brutus had already convinced the crowd that the man had been a
tyrant. The people seemed extremely outraged with Caesar, and immediately worshipped Brutus.
Somehow, even after all that, Marc Antony managed to bring the commoners over to his side. Antony
had been using word play and rhetoric speech. Using these tactics, he completely brainwashed the
commoners into following him. Antony was not in a good situation. He already wasn t trusted by the
conspirators because of his closeness to Caesar. Brutus allowed him to speak at Caesar s funeral, as
long as he didn t shun the conspirators. But Antony had a couple of things going for him: his chance to
have the last word, and loopholes. Obviously, Antony is the focus of this topic. Throughout the play,
there are examples of rhetoric. Such as when Cassius convinces Brutus to join in on his plan to
overthrow Caesar. Antony s speech stands out more because he used his words perfectly. Once he
started speaking, it was only a matter of time before he won over the crowd. Antony knew he was in
trouble when the conspirators killed Caesar, so really his only option was to go along with them until
he could find a way to

Electronic Media Effects On Individuals
Authors Medoff and Kaye noted how electronic media has several effects on individuals (Tuning in to
Electronic Media, 2011, p.6). Moreover, they explain how the effects can be categorized into three
general areas specifically cognitive, emotional, and behavioral (Tuning in to Electronic Media, 2011,
p.6). From these three general categories one can easily see or rather understand just how influential
electronic media has impacted individuals.
From a cognitive perspective, Medoff and Kaye point out that individuals are more knowledgeable
about the world and gain insights into topics we would never experience on our own (Tuning in to
Electronic Media, 2011, p.6) Electronic media has given mountains of information with unlimited
access to anyone who has at their disposable any type of electronic device. Although, information is
readily available, what we fail to realize is that much of this knowledge is empty knowledge from my
perspective. For example, my children have the luxury of just typing in a topic and getting a multitude
of answers online. However, while many of the answers are correct, the child only learned the answer
and not the process or substance of the topic. In other words, they get a general understanding of what
the problem and solution is, but again the substance of the topic is either missing or so much that they
just will not read how one arrives to the solution. From another point, video clips, short films,

A Short Note On Penthrox And Its Effects On The Early...
INTRODUCTION Methoxyflurane or Penthrox is used currently as an inhalational form of analgesia
for mild to moderate pain relief for a short time period. It was previously used as an inhalational
anaesthetic gas but has since been discontinued. Methoxyflurane is currently being used in the pre

called The green whistle in New Zealand and Australia. Methoxyflurane was administered through a
device called the Abbott Analgizer which allowed patients to self administer the Methoxyflurane and
was then transformed into a metered dose inhaler called Penthrox inhaler. I am going to be reviewing
Methoxyflurane and its history, toxicity as a result of the use of methoxyflurane, pharmacological
action, advantages and disadvantages of use in the pre hospital environment as well as the indications,
contra indications and adverse effects. At the end of this review I will be writing a conclusion from all

In Emergence, Steven Johnson argues that small scale interactions give way to global behaviors first

mountains impact these models. I also wonder how the organizational structure of a city (grid like
versus radial) impacts the locational decisions of businesses.

Symbolism In The Book Thief
In The Book Thief, Mark Zusak uses symbolism throughout the story to create a profound meaning
behind characters actions , bringing more emotion and significance to the plot. Character Hans
Hubermann s accordion symbolizes many different aspects including comfort and hope, eventually
affecting most characters throughout the plot of the story. The colors Blue and Red are used by death
throughout the novel to symbolize scenes of good and evil. Lastly, Basements symbolize a safe and
calm environment towards Max Vandenburg but also symbolizes constant danger and fear for the
Hubermanns are committing a crime by hiding Max. In The Book Thief, symbolism channels a
relationship between characters and certain aspects of the story. Hans accordion, colors , and the
basement are symbols creating a more interesting plot by signifying ideas and qualities.
To Liesel Meminger, the accordion is a symbol of prosperity, hope, and a distraction. Through times of
distress, Hans accordion was there to soothe and relax her. When liesel arrived at Himmel street she
was overwhelmingly nervous and scared but one thing that gave her hope was the beautiful sound of
Hans accordion. On september 19, 1942 Liesel experienced a very real and horrific air raid forcing
members of the community to seek shelter in the Fielders basement. Liesel remembered the
accordions ability to alleviate stress from a situation and wanted the community to experience the
same. This lead liesel into reading The Whistler.

Throughout the beginning of mankind, there are many differences in the way they governed their
societies. From, the 1500 s back they usually had one person who was the top either something like a
king or Pharaoh. Usually, the people who were in charge would have a tomb built for them when they
passed or ordered people to build them a tomb before they passed. Some of these tombs were grand
while others were dull. There were also tombs that made a greater impression than other tombs which
are today known as famous tombs . Of course, some tombs are grand, but this paper will focus on the

The pyramids of Giza were three pyramids which were the pyramid of Menkaure, the pyramid of
Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Khufu. They were all three precisely aligned with the Constellation
of Orion. But when people talk about the great pyramid of Giza they are usually referring to the Great
Pyramid of Khufu. The base of that pyramid covered fifty five thousand meters squared. The interior
temperature of the pyramid is constant and equals the average temperature of earth, which is sixty
eight degrees Fahrenheit. The outer mantle was made of 144k casing stones and all of them were
highly polished and flat. They each weight fifteen tons. The corner stone foundations of the pyramid
were made with a ball and socket construction, which was capable of dealing with expansion due to
heat and also earthquakes. The pyramid was originally covered with a casing stone that as made of
highly polished limestone. The casing stones reflected the sun s light which made the pyramid shine.
The pyramid was also aligned north and was only off by 3/60 of a degree. The four faces of the
pyramid were slightly concave and it s known for being the only pyramid to be built that way. Also the

The Equality Of Sports And Gender Equality In Sports
Women opportunities for competitive sports were very limited, their sport was considered recreational
rather than an actual sport, due to the fact that they were not competitive and there were less rules.
Title IX required society to acknowledge women sports on an equal term to that of men. There are
students participating in university sports, and these programs make an excessive amount of money
from selling the teams merchandise and tickets. There are apparel lines primarily based on athletic
wear, advertisements that consist of athletes promoting all kinds of things to get people to buy the
company s stuff etc. Although, professional leagues do offer opportunities to female athletes, the
treatment however, of a female athlete in society today is different in comparison of their male
counterparts when it comes to media, attendance, endorsements, and wages. Equality Throughout
history, women were to be seen as ladylike and to be seen as anything else. If they were to work out, it
would only be very little so they won t get muscular because it was seen as masculinity. It took a
couple of years for women to be in on the equality of sports. Women went through hardships to be
treated equally and to be accepted and to be seen as a college and/or professional athlete. In 1972,
Congress passes Title IX for the Education Amendments Act. Title IX has improved women s rights
immensely. requires gender equality for men and women in educational funding. When the

Character Analysis Of Walter Lee Younger In Lorraine...
In some plays the experience of an important character changes him or her. In others the experiences
of an important character leaves him or her almost completely unchanged. In Lorraine Hansberry s A
Raisin in the Sun, Walter Lee Younger goes from being selfish to being the man his family needs. The
road to becoming the man they needed was very rocky and difficult at times. In the beginning Walter
is very selfish and only seems to care about the liquor store, he even asks Beneatha why she can t just
be a nurse or marry a rich man. The reason he says this to her is because he wants her to not go to
medical school. Walter would rather invest the money rather than use it to pay for her schooling.
Walter puts his own selfish needs before his family s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Money determines how happy he is. Mama is getting tired of his complaining so she decided to trust
him with the large sum of money. This money makes him happy and friendly. It causes him to become
the perfect family man. When he receives the insurance money he is ecstatic, but when he loses the
money to Willy Harris he lets his self loathing side come out. Walter knows that he screwed up and he
really does not know how he will face the consequences. Walter redeems himself when he refuses to
take the money from Mr. Lindner. Though he was completely willing to swallow his pride for the sake
of his family. This shows that Walter would do what it takes for the overall well being of his family.
Although Walter makes the worst mistakes out of any other character in the play, he also undergoes
the greatest transformation. His journey takes him from a selfish jerk, who was obsessed with get rich
quick schemes, to a man worthy of respect. Hansberry shows how poverty and racism can twist and
depress people, turning them against those that they love the most. Through Walter Hansberry also
shows how these social barriers can be overcome through personal determination and staying true to

Doryphoros Essay
Doryphoros by Polykleitos was originally a Greek bronze made around 450 40B.C. The only way we
can see it today is through the Roman marble copies (which is common of many Greek statues.) Some
supports had to be added for the change in material, resulting in the addition of the form resembling a
tree trunk, the support on the left foot, and the small bar bridging the gap between his right wrist and
hip. Doryphoros was originally holding a spear in his left hand; appropriate, given that his name
means, literally, spear bearer. The sculpture is a well known and early example of classical Greek
contrapposto (the shifting of weight onto one leg and off axis shoulders and arms.) One leg nearly
appears to be lifting off the ground, giving the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plato felt that artists knew nothing worth mentioning because all they do is imitate, and so their work
was worthless. Additionally, Plato believed that we, as humans not of the metaphysical realm, can not
know what true beauty is because we have not experienced the true, beautiful form of anything. Plato
would say that Doryphoros was worthless for those very reasons. It is an imitation of a perfect form,
and therefore cannot be beautiful. Although Doryphoros is anatomically and proportionally realistic,
Plato would not be appreciative of it as art and would not see it as an object of beauty. He would likely
scorn Polykleitos for even bothering to sculpt it in the first place. To examine the thoughts of another
Greek philosopher, Aristotle would have a much different perspective on Doryphoros. Aristotle felt
that imitation was natural for us as humans. He felt that we could learn from imagery that is realistic
because it may influence us to examine it more closely. He felt that the creative individual could
express the universal, fundamental qualities of human nature, and did not see their work as worthless
as Plato did. Polykleitos sculpted athletic nudes such as Doryphoros in ordinance to his mathematical
canon, a

How Did The Natives Impact On The English
The Natives had many impacts on the English when they came into the New World. By helping them
with farming, growing crops, teaching them how to survive, they left a permanent mark on the
English. Many ideas were inspiring to them such as most of naming the animals, plants, cities and
towns. They had many talents in which one was creating art such as pottery, leather products, wool
rugs, and beaded jewelry. Another thing the English was inspired by was the Natives agriculture. They
taught them ways on how to farm, what to plant, and how to keep growing the crops. The main things
they grew was corn and squash. They also taught settlers irrigation methods and crop rotation. Another
one of the things that the Natives gave the English were their

Superficial yeast infections affect different parts of the human body including the skin, mouth,
digestive tract, nails, etc and can become persistent (Thevissen, 2005).Systemic yeast infections also
called invasive yeast infections affect the brain, spinal cord, eye, gall bladder, heart, lungs, kidneys

due to transplantation procedures, cancer chemotherapy, steroid therapy and, in particular, HIV

rehabilitation and recovery phase, an athlete needs help in sustaining motivation and adherence to the
process of physically and mentally recovering from the injury. Goal setting and keeping a positive
mental attitude is at the foundation of this phase of recovery and is especially important during any

He had to regain his strength and endurance for racing with a step by step plan with specific workouts
designed for cyclist. The estimate energy and muscular fitness demands for cycling varies from low to
high depending on if the cycling was short, medium, or long distances. I recommended that Trent
follow a plan that worked on each of these type cycling events twice a week by creating process goals
for energy fitness (aerobic and anaerobic) and muscular fitness (flexibility, strength, endurance, speed,
and power) (Martens, 2012, page 234). His process goals would also improve the technical elements
like his climbing skills for torturously difficult mountainous terrain, the endurance required for the flat
lands, and the best technique to breakaway from a group of riders in a sprint. The form required to be
successful would depend on his ability to have his skills automated to free up his brain to think
tactically. In the beginning, I only asked Trent to create just one process goal per month, as related to
riding, so that he could have an easier time building his habits in order to slowly turn him into a pro
because it is easy to get overwhelmed. Process goals are all about being consistent every single day. I
wanted him keeping a log and marking off his progress. (Semi pro cycling, 2014).

Performance goals for Trent were more specific. Although

Summary Of Ban Zhao s Lessons Of Women
The author of Lessons of Women is Ban Zhao. Ban Zhao was a very intelligent women. She was a
Chinese scholar that served as the unofficial imperial historian for emperor Ho. Ban Zhao also taught
history, classical writing, astronomy, and math to empress Teng and her ladies in waiting. She wrote
Lessons of Women to help young, soon to be married first century Chinese women to behave properly.
At that time in china women literally had no rights. They had to cook, clean, take care of their
children, tend to their husbands, and show no disgrace. They had to put others first and themselves
last. At that time they could not dread their duties no matter how difficult and not matter the hardship.

She wrote this in full concern for her daughters. Lessons of Women seems more calming than
controversial. I think Ban Zhao was not only inspired by her own daughters to write Lessons of
Women but also thought why not write this to all women who are in the same place as her daughters.
I think that Ban Zhao has her own style. Lessons of Women seemed very calm but was still straight to
the point. Ban Zhao seemed very personal with the passage in the beginning. She showed concern for
her daughters and overall women that were in the same situation and that is why Lessons of Women
can relate to those women. Even Ban Zhao s younger self helped inspire the book too. Gossiping was

The Virtual Reality Simulation Environment For Assembly...
Cloud based IoT interactions to support simulation analysis using VAE (don t change this title, use it
in last section of paper befor examples)
Overview
In this section, we discuss a case study involving use of the Virtual Reality simulation environment for
assembly analysis (VAE?) and GENI resources; the primary emphasis was to compare suitability of
remote collabora tion protocols that can support several engineers from different locations to analyze
the design of micro parts and propose, compare and validate/modify assembly plans. The GENI
resources utilized in this case study included the ProtoGENI aggregate [4], and the OnTimeMeasure
[6] software for instrumentation and measurement.
The potential benefits for allowing a user to collaborate with remote experts while assessing a part s
design by utilizing virtual reality environments and other tools is attractive to both education and
commercial manufacturing segments. Vir tualization and cloud based resources offer affordable as
well as on demand methods for students in K 12 and universities to learn about advanced
manufacturing problems without the need of expensive local resources. Research efforts has
emphasized the emergence of cyber physical frameworks to support assembly of micro devices
[include Lu and Cecil IJAMT paper reference here}. Commercial partners can participate in
collaborative virtual analysis of designs in an on demand and scalable manner using the elastic

Balancing Ecosystems
Dear City Council: I am writing you concerning matters of restoring balance to the city s ecosystem.
An ecosystem is a factor in the biological community that consists of occurrences locally, chemical
factors, as well as physical, make up the environment non living or abiotic. The unbalanced ecosystem
in Sparksville s aquatic system is the situation at hand. The boundaries of this ecosystem are being
addressed for reasons having to do with the goal of restoring the lake back to normal. The invasions of
Grass Carp have made it almost impossible for the rest of the underwater community to be in
existence. The changes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leaves of the new plants can contain chemicals that add to the ecosystem problem in the lake.
Many more problems can occur within the environment, leaving animals are to feed off of the non
native harmful crops, and the chain will go on because humans feed off of animals. Ultimately the
entire community can be affected by this Carp problem. Keep in mind it is not the intent of the
invasive species to be invasive or they start off being invasive then the ecosystem will find a unique
way of bringing everything under control on its own. The ecosystem in town possesses many
mechanisms that it needs to keep the whole system equally balanced. The dynamics to help persons in
this city strive and restore include predation; the need to prey on other animals is how a species
survive, but it should be under control. Conditions and temperature play a large role as well. It is the
responsibility of the humans to control the conditions that come into the town by understanding the
animals and fish that come into the environment and lake. The environment needs the help and
support of the community to be successful. When everyone is working together and not against each
other things tend to come together easier because everyone is working towards the same goal and
objective. Prairie Dog Festival held each summer celebrates the community s environment awareness.
Sparksville is facing a hardship, and the goal is to get things back in order

Comparison Of Irony In Marigolds And The Monkey s Paw
Being thankful for what you already posses is essential for living a happy life, as it is healthy to focus
on the things you already have and to not focus on the things others have. In the story Marigolds by
Eugenia W. Collier and the story The Monkey s Paw by W.W. Jacobs, both authors gives examples as
to why it is important to be thankful for what you already have, and to not dwell on what others might
have that you don t. In the story The Monkey s Paw by W.W. Jacobs, the author uses irony to highlight
how important it is to be happy with what you already own, and to not want things that you don t
really need. After the White s family learns about the wishing abilities of the Monkey s Paw, but also

  • 3. To What Extent Is Tartuffe A Comedy Of Manners Moliere wrote Tartuffe in 1664, almost immediately followed by it s first performance the same year, which was quickly censored by King Louis XIV who ruled France during this time. This was believed to be because of the play s suspected attacks on the catholic church. A Comedy of Manners is a play which is concerned with satirizing society s behavior and manners. A manner is the way in which individuals perform everyday duties. It suggests a polite and agreeable behavior. Comedy of Manners is known as high comedy since it includes a sophisticated wit and talent in the composition and writing of the script. • 4. Summary Of The Phantom Menace By Padme Amidale In 1999, The Phantom Menace was released into theaters. The beginning of the saga was brought to understand where the original trilogy s villain origin story came from and where the famous twins Luke and Leia came from. Leia stole the hearts of many in the original trilogy and it was now her mother s turn to take the spotlight. Many did not welcome her character with open arms and rejected her. She was the young naïve queen with a crazy fashion sense who had a crush on a nine year old boy. At a very young age, Padme was interested in politics which happens to be a male dominated career. Fourteen year old Padme Amidala was elected queen of Naboo. While many would call her naïve, the planet elected the young for their purity and believed age brought corruption. Age could have brought naivety, but Padme had proven herself a leader her people trusted that once her second term ended they wanted her to continue leading the planet. In episode I, Amidala deals with the struggle of the Trade Federation who wants the planet to surrender to them while they are controlled by Darth Sidious. It was a plan to gain control over the galaxy with easier access since the young can be easily influenced. Amidala refused that easy access over her planet from the Trade Federation. She is level headed to not directly take action for war but to persuade the senate for a plead of help. When the escape to Coruscant is delayed, she takes the opportunity to widen her knowledge about the planet Tatooine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Reflective Essay For College I believe that one of my greatest strengths is my diversity of backgrounds. In college, my contrasting majors of Political Science and Theatre gave me the opportunity to explore topics both analytical and creative in nature. I was heavily involved in our university s Theatre program, yet at the same time was able to pursue internships with a political campaign and with the House of Representatives, as well as remain active in the school s Music and Digital Media Arts departments. I graduated cum laude and would go on to participate in both the political and Theatre communities of the Twin Cities on both an amateur and professional level. This background gives me a perspective that is relatively unique, compared to those who may have studied specifically in Business or Human Resources programs for their secondary education. • 7. The Automobile And The Environmental Impacts Of The... When in 1885 Karl Benz designed, and developed the first 4 stroke engine that would later become the very heart of the first automobile that we are familiar with today. At the time however, the early inventors and pioneers of the automobile industry thought just of their work as a horseless carriage and nothing more, none of them anticipated the age of the automobile that was about to be ushered in, for they just saw the new technology strictly in the context of what it was meant to replace. The automobile however, developed into so much more, becoming one of the defining industries of the entire 20th century and affecting people s lives in a multitude ways, but most especially the social aspect. This essay would like to highlight the importance that the automobile had on the cultural shift towards the phenomenon of suburbanization and the environmental impacts that ensued due to the change in urban planning to accommodate for our car dependent culture. Ironically enough, when the environmental impacts associated with automobiles are discussed, the one that is not inherently apparent to us, specifically carbon emissions from vehicles is what takes much of the limelight when compared to an issue that is rapidly unfolding right before we. The exponential increase in urban sprawl not only involves the loss of massive amounts of natural habitat but also dramatically increases the risk of flooding in these same suburbs. • 9. Disney Negative Image Some Disney Films Portray a Negative Image on Kids Lives in Today s World I. Introduction a. The image that Disney s films portray their stories is a very powerful product that can influence our kids in a negative way. b. One example of this is the film The Princess and the Frog. In this movie, we can see that an African American girl named Tiana lived poor in the 1920 s. The plot of this story is that this poor girl wanted to finish the dream of her father, which is to create a restaurant. c. Like most of Disney s movies, the damsel in distress ends up marrying the prince charming, resolving all her social and economic problems. This kind of message to a little girl can create a wrong image of what her life should be like. Therefore, it portrays a negative influence in a young girl life. d. THESIS STATEMENT: Disney films create a fantasy world that young audience capture as an example of how life should be. This creates an issue, because it teaches kids that money is the solution for all problems by selling your dignity, they also teach that hard work is not enough in order to accomplish your dreams, and they also label the difference in social status. II. BODY ONE a. Disney films create a fantasy world, which misleads kids imagination of how the real world should be lived. b. In most of the Disney films, money is a factor to save the lives of the main characters. This was not the exception in the film The Princess and the Frog. 1. As part of her solution, Tiana has to kiss the frog, which is a prince and in return he would give her money to by the old mill. She ends up giving him the kiss for the money he promised. 2. Even though this scene seems harmless, this is an example of how Disney films are portraying a negative influence on how a girl sells herself to get the money she needs. 3. The message here is that it is acceptable to sell your dignity for money in return for what you need. 4. For younger kids this can be an example of how to acquire things in life. III. BODY TWO a. In this film, they also teach that hard work is not enough in order to accomplish your dreams. 1. Throughout the film, Tiana is depicted to be a hard worker. She is also portrayed following the values her parents taught her. 2. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Absurdity In The Stranger World Literature Ms. Megan Wall Jin Woo Lee September 23, 2015 The Stranger Essay: Topic One The Stranger, written by a famous French philosopher Albert Camus, tells a story of a young Algerian man, Meursault, who perceives his life, values, behavioural norms differently from other people in his society. Throughout the course of the rest of the novel, readers can easily notice Meursault as a detached and indifferent character who shows difficulty in expressing his emotions. However, by characterising Meursault in such ways, Camus indirectly challenges the society s conventional moral standards and brings up the idea of absurdism philosophy. By describing the actions of Meursault and minor characters, Camus successfully conveys ideas such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This idea is clearly shown in part one when Meursault describes Raymond s encounter with the policeman after the beating incident. Meursault describes, right then the cop slapped him a thick, heavy smack right across the face ; this quote clearly shows that concept of justice is flawed in this society because although people criticises Raymond for hitting his mistress and calls the act immoral, they deem the cop s action to be moral (36). Physically, both violence are nearly the same, yet one is regarded as wrong, and the other, is justified. Through Meursault s interaction with the policeman, Camus implicitly challenges the truth of society s accepted moral order and the concept of justice. In addition, the trial scene in part 2 of the novel also conveys this theme. Although Meursault s act of murder is a serious crime, it seems as if the magistrate and the juries are not judging Meursault for his murder, but for his indifferent behaviour toward Maman s death because the latter explanation makes more sense to them. For example, when the magistrate gives his closing statement, Meursault describes it was then that he talked about my attitude toward Maman. It went on much longer than when he talking about my crime (100). In addition, the magistrate claims that Meursault s indifferent reaction over Maman s death threatens the moral ... • 11. Zootopia Film Analysis Leadership Film Analysis Disney s Zootopia is a great depiction of James Kouzes s and Barry Posner s Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. The main protagonist, Judy Hopps, exemplifies those practices model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the heart. The first practice is model the way. According to Kouzes and Posner (2014), in order to model the way a leader must clarify values by finding your voice and affirming shared values and set the example by aligning actions with shared values. In the beginning of the movie Judy is putting on a play and at the end she talks about how Zootopia is a place where you can be anything you want to be. This is the first time we hear ... During that speech, Judy says, try to make the world a better place by accepting and understanding others. By asking the people of Zootopia to try to understand each other she is appealing to the shared aspiration of making Zootopia safer and a place where you can be anything you want to be. The third practice is challenge the process. According to Kouzes and Posner (2014), challenging the process means to search for opportunities by seizing the initiative and by looking outward for innovative ways to improve and experiment and take risks by constantly generating small wins and learning from experience . Judy challenged the process by seizing the initiative and taking the otter case, even when Chief Bogo didn t want her to take it. She also looked outwards by enlisting Nick. By enlisting Nick, Judy found an innovative way to take on the case because Nick was a criminal and thought like a criminal, therefore it gave Judy a new perspective. Judy also challenged the process by and took a risk by becoming the first ever bunny cop. Judy celebrated every small victory she had, she celebrated after every little clue they found about the missing otter case. Throughout the whole movie, Judy was always challenging the process because she was changing the status quo of what a bunny, and all animals, should be able to do. The fourth practice is enable ... • 12. Classical Socratic, Socratic And Hellenic Views Of Thought... Pre Socratic, Socratic, and Hellenic views of thought are all incorporated in order to provide a holistic explanation of The Greeks view towards one s control of their own life. Even though Greek Philosophy encompasses many different ways of thought, Greek Philosophy assumes a general disproval of one being able to determine the outcomes of their actions. The idea is theoretically possible to some Greek philosophers and schools of thought but assumes complete knowledge of the cosmos and universals, which is also contradicted as being attainable by the same philosophers. Pre Socratic philosophers tended to seek natural explanations for happenings as Pythagoras does when determining one s will over the events that occur in their life. Pythagoras general association with mathematics is showed in his philosophy. Pythagoras claimed that philosophical inquiries were all explainable by mathematics and physics if given accurate data (Boxing Pythagoras). In theory, Pythagoras says that one can control the occurrences in their life, but in order to they would have to be completely knowledgeable of the physics behind the world and be able to apply it to the particular situation. This also assumes that the data is correct and not obtained through false observation or measurement. According to Pythagoras explanation of controlling or predicting future events, it is possible to manipulate physical entities to change the outcome of events. • 13. Climate Change Is A Hot Topic Climate change is a hot topic (pun intended), with supporters on both sides. Some claim that climate change is a hoax, while others agree that it is happening. I believe it is important to understand that the earth s climate does naturally go through cycles look at our geological history of ice ages and hothouses but also recognize that human activity has greatly advanced the rate at which our planet is warming. The planet naturally goes through periods of extreme cooling and heating. That s why we have had multiple periods of ice age (when polar ice grows far beyond its normal range) and the opposite, hothouse periods (when all the polar ice melts). Currently, we are in an interglacial period (when it s not too hot nor too cold). Interglacial periods are best for human life because our bodies have not evolved to withstand radical high or low temperatures. Ever since man began to shift from a nomadic hunter gatherer society to an agrarian society, we have been gradually using more and more of the earth s natural resources with little thought of the consequences. Britain began its age of exploration because they sought more land to provide them with more natural resources as they had exhausted most of what they previously had. When Britain colonized territory here in North America, they once again had an unlimited supply of huge trees to make large navy ships, and land to grow crops such as tobacco. This began rapid deforestation that still has not stopped. As the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Css And Cascading Style Sheet CSS or Cascading Style Sheet is a language used to format a document written in a markup language such as HTML. It is used primarily to format elements such as colour, font, layout, and positioning. CSS can be used in three different ways. External, embedded and inline. Each of which I will expand on later. CSS was initially released in December 1996 and has evolved through 4 levels, CSS 1, 2, 2.1 and 3. CSS gives web designers the ability to create rules and apply these rules to multiple different elements within a website. In the case of External CSS, this way of formatting being completely separate from the design means any change required by the client can be altered on the style sheet and will effect every instance within the site where the CSS is being used. I will expand more on the three types of CSS later in this presentation. CSS use can lead to faster page downloads [1] Most web browsers will load rules from the CSS once and then cache the data to use when each page is loaded. This means using CSS in websites can lead to lighter page loads [1], meaning as the browser is simply pulling information from the cache, the web pages will load much faster then without. This will therefore result in lower requirements from the server side. Since the majority of CSS is completely separate to the content of the website, making small, spread changes or troubleshooting any design problems becomes simple. Their aim is to reduce poverty while improving health, education, and the environment. These goals were endorsed by 189 countries at the September 2000 UN Millennium General Assembly in New York. They focus on significant, measurable improvements for the efforts of the World Bank Group, governments, other international organizations, and other partners in the development community. The MDGs grew out of the agreements and resolutions that have resulted from world conferences organized by the UN in the past 10 15 years. • 17. Julius Caesar Rhetoric Analysis In the play, Julius Caesar, the big highlight of the story was when Marc Antony swayed the opinions of a whole crowd with just his words. How did he do it? The conspirators had been planning their attack for a long time, so they should have been able to win over the commoners 100%. And they almost did. After killing Caesar, Brutus had already convinced the crowd that the man had been a tyrant. The people seemed extremely outraged with Caesar, and immediately worshipped Brutus. Somehow, even after all that, Marc Antony managed to bring the commoners over to his side. Antony had been using word play and rhetoric speech. Using these tactics, he completely brainwashed the commoners into following him. Antony was not in a good situation. He already wasn t trusted by the conspirators because of his closeness to Caesar. Brutus allowed him to speak at Caesar s funeral, as long as he didn t shun the conspirators. But Antony had a couple of things going for him: his chance to have the last word, and loopholes. Obviously, Antony is the focus of this topic. Throughout the play, there are examples of rhetoric. Such as when Cassius convinces Brutus to join in on his plan to overthrow Caesar. Antony s speech stands out more because he used his words perfectly. Once he started speaking, it was only a matter of time before he won over the crowd. Antony knew he was in trouble when the conspirators killed Caesar, so really his only option was to go along with them until he could find a way to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, they explain how the effects can be categorized into three general areas specifically cognitive, emotional, and behavioral (Tuning in to Electronic Media, 2011, p.6). From these three general categories one can easily see or rather understand just how influential electronic media has impacted individuals. From a cognitive perspective, Medoff and Kaye point out that individuals are more knowledgeable about the world and gain insights into topics we would never experience on our own (Tuning in to Electronic Media, 2011, p.6) Electronic media has given mountains of information with unlimited access to anyone who has at their disposable any type of electronic device. Although, information is readily available, what we fail to realize is that much of this knowledge is empty knowledge from my perspective. For example, my children have the luxury of just typing in a topic and getting a multitude of answers online. However, while many of the answers are correct, the child only learned the answer and not the process or substance of the topic. In other words, they get a general understanding of what the problem and solution is, but again the substance of the topic is either missing or so much that they just will not read how one arrives to the solution. INTRODUCTION Methoxyflurane or Penthrox is used currently as an inhalational form of analgesia for mild to moderate pain relief for a short time period. It was previously used as an inhalational anaesthetic gas but has since been discontinued. Methoxyflurane is currently being used in the pre hospital and hospital settings by Australia, New Zealand and more recently the UK. Additionally, Plato believed that we, as humans not of the metaphysical realm, can not know what true beauty is because we have not experienced the true, beautiful form of anything. Plato would say that Doryphoros was worthless for those very reasons. It is an imitation of a perfect form, and therefore cannot be beautiful. Although Doryphoros is anatomically and proportionally realistic, Plato would not be appreciative of it as art and would not see it as an object of beauty. He would likely scorn Polykleitos for even bothering to sculpt it in the first place. To examine the thoughts of another Greek philosopher, Aristotle would have a much different perspective on Doryphoros. Aristotle felt that imitation was natural for us as humans.
