Welfare
• The world depends on women for
Existence
• It is necessary for the children to be
bought up in a suitable environment
for they are the future of Nation
• Over the time they have been most
suppressed section of society
Women - SOURCE OF EXISTANCE
• Women the entire world is dependent upon
them for its existence
• Women who is also called as janani in vedas
means the birth giver and the mother of life.
All of this sounds great and clearly depicts
that she is the one to be given the utmost
priority in the Society.
• But the truth lies somewhere really far from
this statement
• The very being of human race the element
that keeps this race going is facing a great
number of threats in this World

Beti Bachao Beti
Padhao (BBBP)
• Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is a social campaign of the Government of
India that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of
welfare services intended for girls. The scheme was launched with
an initial funding of ₹100 crore

One Stop Centre
Scheme
• This Scheme of One Stop Centre for Women is implemented
since 1st April 2015 with total project cost of Rs. 18.58 is funded
under Nirbhaya fund.
• In the first phase , one OSC was to be established in all states/UT
and was approved fro 36 locations out of which only 33 got
sanctioned and only 15 became operational till 30th May,2016.
• The scheme has already been revised for setting up One Stop
Centre in 150 additional locations in second phase, in addition to
the already proposed 36 centres in first phase.
• The government has now proposed for establishing 660 centres.
Ujjawala Scheme
• The Ministry of Women and Child Development is
implementing “Ujjawala” – a Comprehensive Scheme for
Prevention of Trafficking and Rescue, Rehabilitation, Re-
integration and Repatriation of Victims of Trafficking for
Commercial Sexual Exploitation.
• As on date, 273 projects including 151 Protective and
Rehabilitative Homes have been supported under the
Scheme.
• These rehabilitative centres are given financial support for
providing shelter and basic amenities such as food,
clothing, medical care, legal aid;
Swadhar Greh
Scheme
• The Swadhar scheme was launched by the Union Ministry
of Women and Child Development in 2002 for
rehabilitation of women in difficult circumstances.
• The scheme provides shelter, food, clothing and care to
the marginalized women/girls who are in need.
• The beneficiaries include widows deserted by their
families and relatives, women prisoners released from jail
and without family support, women survivors of natural
disasters, women victims of terrorist/extremist violence
etc.
Pradhan Mantri
Ujjwala Yojana
• Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana - Scheme for Providing
Free LPG connections to Women from BPL Households.
• Under the scheme, Rs 8000 crore has been earmarked for
providing five crore LPG connections to BPL households.
• The Scheme provides a financial support of Rs 1600 for
each LPG connection to the BPL households.
• The identification of eligible BPL families will be made in
consultation with the State Governments and the Union
Territories.

Mid- Day Meal Scheme
Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS):
Pulse Polio Immunization Programme
• It is being implemented by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare covers all children
below five years. The other immunization programmes include Hepatitis B, DPT and other
routine immunization.
Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya
• This scheme is implemented by the Department of Education, which enables opening of 750
special residential schools for the girl child belonging to SC/ST, other backward classes and
minority in educationally backward blocks having low female literacy.
