This article discusses devising an IoT system to monitor weather parameters and gas pollutants in the air along with anHTML web-based application. Weather parameters measured include; speed and direction of the wind, rainfall, air temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, and UV index. On the other side, the gases measured are; ammonia, hydrogen, methane, ozone, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. This article is introducing a technique to send all parameter data. All parameters read by each sensor are converted into a string then joined into a string dataset, where this dataset is sent to the server periodically. On the UI side, the dataset that has been downloaded from the server-parsed for processing and then displayed. This system uses Google Firebase as a real-time database server for sensor data. Also, using the GitHub platform as a web hosting. The web application uses the HTML programming platform. The results of this study indicate that the device operates successfully to provide information about the weather and gases condition as real-time data.

WSN Based Temperature Monitoring System for Multiple Locations in Industryijtsrd
Â
Wireless sensor network technology has demonstrated a great potential for industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. Speci cally, in process monitoring and control, process data such as pressure, humidity, temperature, ow, level, viscosity, density and vibration intensity measurements can be collected through sensing units and transferred wirelessly to a control system for operation and management. Adopting WSNs for process monitoring and control provides great advantages over traditional wired system. In today's world we are facing with many di erent types of emergencies in the indoor environment. Response to such emergencies is critical in order to protect resources including human life and also we can save property from damage. This wireless sensor network for Temperature monitoring System which can report the emergency to the users in various forms, such as pop ups on a Computer screen, SMS on their cell phones and so on. Due to this exibility of reporting low cost wireless sensor network prepared for emergency response system of future. We are going to develop three wireless sensor nodes and we have to place in di erent position in the building using arduino board and we have to inform to the master node or monitoring node about the temperature available at each sensor node. While sending data to each and every sensor is very costly. Hence nodes are connected to WSN and their is only one node called 'Gateway' which collects the data from all other nodes and sends it to the cloud. The present paper describes a novel Raspberry Pi and Arduino UNO architecture used as a meteorological station. One of the advantages of the proposed architecture is the huge quantity of sensors developed for its usage; practically one can find them for any application, and weather sensing is not an exception. The principle followed is to configure Raspberry as a collector for measures obtained from Arduino, transmitting occurs via USB; meanwhile, Raspberry broadcasts them via a web page. For such activity is possible thanks to Raspbian, a Linux-based operating system. It has a lot of libraries and resources available, among them Apache Web Server, that gives the possibility to host a web-page. On it, the user can observe temperature, humidity, solar radiance, and wind speed and direction. Information on the web-page is refreshed each five minute; however, measurements arrive at Raspberry every ten seconds. This low refreshment rate was determined because weather variables normally do not abruptly change. As an additional feature, system stores all information on the log file, this gives the possibility for future analysis and processing.

⢠Una scheda per il monitoraggio ambientale, attraverso la lettura di quattro sensori (temperatura, umidità , luce, gas) (vedi figura a lato);
⢠Una scheda per la presenza allâinterno della stanza attraverso un lettore di tag RFID e NFC, un sensore di movimento PIR e un sensore di suono ad alta sensibilitĂ che comunicano i loro dati con un modulo ZigBee;
⢠Una scheda per la comunicazione ZigBee;

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Â
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as âpredictable inferenceâ.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
Â
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

10. Single station
The master collects data from various sensors.
When the data is ready, the slave is switched on (to improve fuel economy is off the slave which is
what consumes more power), the data is sent on the serial and then send via GSM/WiFi. If the data is
not sent, it cached and it sent to the next posting.
After the cycle, turn off the slave.
In this case both devices are arranged in a single enclosure, battery-operated with any solar panel.
Configuration suitable for outdoor stations.
it is possible a remote configuration: when the slave is access requires a configuration file to a
particular host, according to it adjusting the different parameters of the master and of itself (ie the duty
cycle of dispatch, etc.).

12. Multi sensors
The different nodes collect data from different sensors.
When the data is ready, the data is sent with xbee and then send via GSM / WiFi. If the data is not
sent, it cached and it sent to the next posting.
In this case, the listener is running on 220v because it must always be listening to the different nodes.

13. The project
In both cases, the master/node device is configured the same way:
â Arduino mini (or similar) used as a microcontroller
â Grove shield (or other standard) to allow the engagement facilitated by any sensor
â TxRx or serial communication with xbee
Make a board that integrates these three features and let it go into low-power efficiently (for outdoor
applications).
The release on the side of sending of this board, brings different benefits because you can then
integrate this card in different contexts (if any wifi card connected it to a slave that sends out wifi, if
present on the Ethernet interface, etc.).

14. User interface
â The data, when it is stored on the server, it will be available on the web
and viewable via a client (desktop or mobile).

15. Future works
â Construction of an open board ad-hoc data collection (to optimize fuel
consumption and customize the project)
â Achieve the look multisensor through advanced technologies (802.15.4
network or 802.11s) to improve the discovery of the sensors and the end-
user experience.
