Breaking points, we all have them and must learn how to handle them. In this lesson we examine Moses. Both audio and slides can be enjoyed at www.cmcoc.org Sermon by: Brian Birdow
The Disciple's Prayer, often mistaken as Our Lord's Prayer, provides a motivation as well as a model for prayer. If a Christian is only as strong as their prayer life, then how strong are you? Do you need some encouragement and instruction in praying?
How did you learn to pray? Who taught you? How would you teach someone else to pray? What motivates you to pray? How do you think What does the Lord’s Prayer would motivate Jesus’ disciples to pray? What does the Lord’s Prayer have to do with loving God with all our heart?
Rom 8:5-8 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Moving Forward in Uncertain Times | A Sermon from Matthew 2:13-23Steve Thomason
The beginning of a New Year can often be a time of mixed emotions. This sermon looks at Matthew and Joseph and explores how the promises of God empower us to move into the uncertain future.
God has been encouraging me to pray the promises He has given me. It is not just enough to read them but pray them into being. Just like the parable of the sower and the seeds in Mathew 13, the enemy will try to rob us of what God has for us if we are not careful. We, like Joshua, should meditate on the word of God day and night. By doing this, the word gets into our hearts and not just stays in our heads.
Jesus teaches a wonder parable about farming, soil, and the seed. The seed is the word of God the Gospel. In this lesson we will cover the value of the farmer and the seed.
Jesus would often times teach thorough parables. In this lesson we examine the teaching of the sower and soils. Both audio and slides can be viewed together at www.cmcoc.org

We know the dictionary definition of worship (a feeling, or devotion to a deity), and we have read John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"; but, what does the Bible teach us about the subject of worship? This is a series of lessons that gets to the heart of worship and what it really means for Christians.
A sermon that talks about the importance of spiritual growth.
This presentation teaches that spiritual maturity and growth must be a priority of a Christian.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

1. Why the Word became flesh?
By
Brian Birdow
John 1
www.cmcoc.org
2. Objective of Lesson
1. To prove that Christ became flesh
2. To understand why He became flesh
3. To understand the character of God
4. To understand Christ role in salvation
3. (1) Christ became a human
• John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.
• John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of
the Father,) full of grace and truth.
4. (1) Christ became a human
• Romans 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus
Christ our Lord, who was made of the
descendants of David according to the
flesh;
• Romans 9:5 Whose are the fathers, and
of whom as concerning the flesh Christ
came, who is over all, God blessed
forever. Amen.
5. (1) Christ became a human
• 1 John 1:1 That which was from the
beginning, which we have heard, which we
have seen with our eyes, which we have
looked upon, and our hands have handled, of
the Word of life;
• 1 John 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and
we have seen it, and bear witness, and show
unto you that eternal life, which was with the
Father, and was manifested unto us;)
6. (2) Why the Word became flesh
• Hebrews 10:1-5…turn with me please
• Hebrews 10:5 Therefore when he comes
into the world, he says, Sacrifice and

sanctified through the offering of the body
of Jesus Christ once for all.

we have heard, lest at any time we should
let them slip.
• Hebrews 2:2 For if the word spoken by
angels was steadfast, and every
transgression and disobedience
received a just recompense of reward;
9. (3) God demands JUSTICE
• Amos 5:21-24 I hate, I despise your feast
days, and I will not take delight in your solemn
assemblies. Though you offer me burnt
offerings and your grain offerings, I will not
accept them: neither will I regard the peace
offerings of your fatted beasts.
• Take away from me the noise of your songs;
for I will not hear the melody of your harps.
But let justice run down as waters, and
righteousness as a mighty stream.
10. (3) God is just, HOLY
• Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things does the
LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination
unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and

hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like
fire, and burn that none can quench it,
because of the evil of your doings.
12. (3) Because God is just (ice)
• Psalms 11:5 The LORD tests the righteous:
but the wicked and him that loves violence
his soul hates.
