Direct financial support to primary schools is a new observable fact in Tanzanian context. Little has
been done as regards to how financial records are kept at school level, specifically capitation grants
and the mechanisms through which the funds are used. Reviews from government reports indicate that
in some schools, the funds were not fully utilized to serve the purpose in relation to centrally
determined plans to attain the intended goals

Rick s Neutrality In The Film Casablanca
Throughout the film Casablanca, everyone in the town is against the war and wants the U.S to remain
neutral. Similarly to the America during WWII Rick displays neutrality and portrays isolationist
tendencies. After Pearl Harbor the U.S had to finally break their neutrality and join WWII. At the
beginning of the film Rick says, I stick my neck out for nobody. This exemplifies Ricks neutrality in at
the beginning of the film. However once Ilsa arrives he starts to stick his neck out for others. After
Rick says, I stick my neck out for nobody. He says, Wise foreign policy . This portrays his view the
U.S should stay neutral in the war. Similar to the U.S entering the war, Rick eventually breaks his
neutrality because of Ilsa s great influence on him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ricks American Café is a hotspot for people to get exit visas to Lisbon and then to America. At the
beginning of the film Rick proves to us that he will not pick sides on the issues going on in

who murdered 2 Germans to get exit visas and then sell them at Ricks bar. Ugarte notices the Germans
in the Bar and asks Rick to hide him until the Germans leave. Rick knows that Ugarte is trying to do
good but Rick still stays neutral and doesn t help Ugarte. After the Germans arrest Ugarte Renault asks
Rick why he didn t help Ugarte. Rick then responds with his signature line, I stick my neck out for

The Struggle In Anaatole s Life
In the beginning of her life, Leah Price struggles with the same challenges as Adah and everyone else
in her family as a result of the Congo crisis. However, once she falls in love with Anatole, she
becomes much more involved. Anatole is jailed twice during their life together. Anatole goes to help
the other Lumumbists (fans of Lumumba) rebuild the Congo. He is jailed soon after because of this,
leaving his Leah, his fiancé, with the nuns, and is sent to a courtyard of what used to be an embassy.
While it is very hard for her to cope with his being gone, Anatole sends her letters whenever he can, so
Leah knows that Anatole was not dead. She is thankful for that, especially because if Anatole was free

Leah is deeply involved with many aspects of the Congo crisis, while Rachel is barely involved at all.
Even as children, their personalities and ways of thinking affected how they dealt with the loss of
resources and happiness as a result of the Congo s independence. Rachel always made it about herself,
and had a harder time dealing with the little to nothing they had. Rachel did take a leadership position
for a little while when their mother was sick and cooked. Leah was interested in helping her family
out, too. She took care of Ruth May when she was sick. When the red ants came and started to eat
away at the village, Leah was concerned about her family while Rachel just wanted to escape. The
same thing happened when all the women in the family left Kilanga. Leah was more interested in the
Congo and her family than Rachel was. Rachel just left without a second thought to her mother of
sisters. Later in life, Rachel preferred to ignore troubles in the country where she basically grew up
and separate herself from any challenges. Leah, although influenced by her love for Anatole, stayed
and tried to help people as much as she could. Rachel and Leah are very different people, which is
why their responses to the challenges presented to them are very different as

The Help, By Kathryn Stockett
Originally a book written by Kathryn Stockett, The Help, was transformed into a film in 2011,
directed by Tate Taylor. Taking place in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi, the perspective of
(mainly) two middle aged negro maids (Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson) were recorded in hopes of
setting truth free. Miss Eugenia ( Skeeter ) Phelan, hopeful to be a journalist, claimed that black lives
were not as pleasant as portrayed, therefore she desired to reveal the truth behind their lives through a
book of interviews. The film, The Help, while not going in depth is quite historically accurate through
the depiction of social classes, racial segregation, the Jim Crow laws, and the Civil Rights Movement
(dealing with racism, violence, and homicide). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However when writing her novel, Ms. Phelan s superior communicates to her that she has three weeks
to complete it in hopes before the movement is terminated. While many would say that the Civil
Rights Movement was barely covered in the film, this section alone utters a thousand words. When
Eugenia Phelan s supervisor, Elaine Stein, conveys to Phelan to speed her novel up, then she is
implying that the movement could pass at any moment. Implying that rather instead of a movement, it
was just a temporary period of uprisings. While Elaine Stein had all the best intentions in assisting the
blacks by publishing the book, what she said can be implied as what numerous whites were thinking.
With the Civil Rights Movement came a lot of violence and murder. Medgar Evers was a prominent
leader within the movement until Byron Beckwith assassinated him in 1963 (A Critical Review of the
novel The Help). In the film when Evers dies, the bus let all blacks off, and then takes the rest of the
whites home. Aibileen Clark scurries home frightened for her life, so much so that she slips and
injures her knee. This goes to not only demonstrate the historical accuracy of the Civil Rights
Movement and the death of a very hopeful leader, but it also portrays the inequality that blacks were

The Ubiquitous Mobile Essay
The Ubiquitous Mobile
Snap!Snap!Snap! Your privacy has just been invaded by someone who has taken a photo of you in the
dressing room, with their new camera mobile phone! Is this what the latest technology intended to
provide for us? I don t think so, and this is why I think mobile phones can be a really distracting, and
in this case, an offensive tool, despite being a powerful form of telecommunication. These always,
new up and coming devices can cause financial hardships, by people changing life style habits just to
accommodate the purchase of them. Most people are aware of this, however their immutable minds
doesn t stop reminding them to send that extra SMS message or dial that extra number. Mobile phones

The financial expenses, which have accumilated from mobile phones, have been quite dangerous to
particular people. Like pouring water out of a leaking bottle, money has been wasted out of many
people s banks and financial accounts because of mobiles. Not only can mobile phones be financially
challenging but they can also be physically dangerous. Recent studies have shown that the high level
of radiation coming through the antenna while speaking on the mobile, can critically affect your body
by alpha radiation particles mutating a cell, which goes on to divide and divide, causing a malignant
tumor cancer. So, when all s said and done, mobile phones do have its negative side, and in my
opinion it s negative side is in complete dominance over its positive attributes. These types of phones
can dramatically change people s life styles or even terminate them!
Life styles have often been altered immensely through many life changing events such as: marriage,
births and deaths, diseases, disorders and the like. But however, none of these examples really were in
people s will power, and mobile phones are in other people s hands and in people s strength in mind.
So, is it our latest generations which want to modify their good life style habits in order to make
mobile phones their number one priority, because of their eye catching features and miraculous

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Decoder
ABSTRACT This paper focus on designing of efficient encoder and decoder blocks which are aimed
to reduce the power consumption in Network on Chip. The power consumption in NOC is caused by
the links, routers and network interfaces. This is caused because as the number of cores in NOC
increases the gap between the links decreases the coupling capacitance value increases due to which
the power consumption increases. The proposed scheme does not require any modifications in router
and link architecture and there is no network performance degradation. The encoder is designed in
such a way to calculate the power consumption and based on power value the input data is encoded
before transmission. The process of encoding can be done before transmitting the data from one
processing element to the other processing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Size. The Integrated circuits consisting of both transistors and wires are shrunk to micrometer sizes,
compared to the millimeter or centimeter sizes of discrete components. Smaller size components lead
to smaller parasitic resistance, capacitance which in deed reduces the power consumption and
improves the speed. Speed. Signals switching between logic 0 and logic 1 is much quicker within a
chip than compared between chips. Communication within a chip is hundreds of times faster than the
communication between chips on a printed circuit board. Generally the high speed of circuit s on chip
is due to their small size smaller components and wires have smaller parasitic capacitances to slow
down the signal. Power consumption. The power consumption in Integrated circuits can be done
mainly due to switching activity (logic 0 to logic1) which increases the capacitances value. The
integrated circuit having less power consumption is preferable and provides huge life time.

Asahara started preaching sermons about how his visions showed him that the world would end by the
turn of the 21st century and that the only survivors would be Aum Shinrikyo members themselves.
The group was so obsessed with Armageddon that it went so far as to try to make it happen

The Causes And Negative Effects Of Dysfunctional Family
See, I think there are roads that lead us to each other. But in my family, there were no roads just
underground tunnels. I think we all got lost in those underground tunnels. No, not lost. We just lived
there. by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Dysfunctional families can lead to a few bad things in life, especially
towards their own children. When having a bad effect towards each other, they usually get lost in what
the problem is and forget about how to overcome them. The negative effects can also change an
individual s identity as well. Family dysfunction can have a negative effect on an individual s identity
in several ways.
One way family dysfunction affects an individual s identity is by lack of affection. First, when a child
does not get the affection needed from their family. For example, when a child starts to grow up. They
are needing affection whenever they want whether it being alone, tired, happy, or to feel encouraged.
It makes themselves feel good when getting enough affection from their parents. Yet without it, it
would make the child feel depressed and alone. In the Erickson s Stages of Psychosocial Development
by Kendra Cherry, Erickson talks about what would happen when a child does not get affection (stage
1). The child would start to isolate themselves from others around them when growing up and feel self
conscious. Secondly, when the child grows up and does not get enough affection, the child grows up
and will isolate themselves from society. For example,

FA1 Debate Draft Taking down the Confederate Flag
The confederate flag, a topic that has been the center of controversy for many years now, is an
emblem of southern pride and heritage to some, while to some it is purely a symbol of hate and
racism. After the shootings in South Carolina, it is clear that the flag should be taken down. Since it

The confederate flag, one of the most controversial image of the American culture, was adopted on

author s use of literary devices such as, the use of Spanish and flashbacks, creates a real believable
character. Casares gives the reader a real slice of life in this story. Realism is a major key to writing

The concept of death does not romanticize the married life of living happily together forever; They

from a death of a loved one. It adds onto the realism because it shows the raw pain of death. The use
of flashbacks makes Mrs. Perez more realistic. This is because the memories that Lola thinks of are
not very pleasant. The majority of the flashbacks portrayed in Casares short stories involved the anger
and controlling demeanor of Augustin. Her husband even though now passed, was kind of controlling
in their married life. A quote that displays an unpleasant memory states, No, Lola, you re going to stop

Essay On Mark Twain
Mark Twain once stated, Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow mindedness. This quote
should let us all know how much travel actually meant to him. In his life, he did a lot of traveling and
exploring. From a newspaper apprentice to a pilot Mark Twain lived a rather adventurous life .
First, most people think that your childhood can have a pleasant or unpleasant effect on your
adulthood. Mark Twain was born Samuel Clemens on November 30, 1835 in the frontier village of
Florida, Missouri ( Mark Twain Biography.com ). He spent his boyhood in nearby Hannibal, on the
bank of the Mississippi River, observing its busy life, fascinated by its romance, but chilled by the
violence and bloodshed it bred.(28 Cox) During his childhood he became exposed to slavery, at one
point he actually discovered a body of a drowned slave. At 12, Twain would actually have to drop out
of school due to the sudden death of his father John Clemens; he would become a young apprentice (
MarkTwainBiograpgy.com ). Twain wasn t even a teen and basically had to become the man of the
house not by choice but basically by force, this more than likely made Twain the hard worker that he
was.
Next, one could say you should treat every job as if it is actually your career, as if you would be doing
it for the rest of your life. Mark Twain had several different jobs. He began work as an apprentice then
a compositor with local printers, contributing occasional squibs.(125 MacArthur) At 17 his comic

History Of Vaccines
Introduction to Vaccinations
History of Vaccinations
Laying the foundation for modern vaccinology in 1796, Edward Jenner observed a milkmaid with the
cowpox infection appeared to be immune to the outbreak of smallpox. By inoculating an eight year
old boy with the pus from an infected milkmaid, and exposing smallpox material to the boy weeks
later, Jenner demonstrated smallpox immunization; as the boy never fell ill (Stern, 2005).
That the cow pox protects the human constitution from the infection of smallpox Edward Jenner
Jenner tested his hypothesis on 23 additional people, and with success, Jenner s discovery began the
development of vaccines. Scientists recognised by surviving an infection with a less virulent form of

An immune compromised patient, such as those taking immune suppressive agents (organ donor,
leukemia), cannot be given this vaccine as it produces the actual disease (Clem, 2011).
Hence, another disadvantage of live microbes is that they have the ability to mutate and regain
pathogenic factors. This was known to occur with live (oral) polio vaccine, where the microbe
reverted into a form that paralysed the vaccinated host (1 in 750,000 doses)(Nathanson, 2008). As a
result of this, industrialized countries only inoculate the vaccine through inactivated polio vaccine
(IPV), which cannot revert. And finally, live attenuated vaccine failure can occur due to antibody
interference, with replication of the vaccine pathogen and lead to poor response to the vaccine.
Live attenuated vaccines can be difficult to develop, as they are fragile and can be damaged by heat or
light. Though they must be handled and stored carefully, live attenuated vaccines elicit a long lasting
and protective immune

Essay On Japanese Education Vs American Education
Education is an extremely important quality of every nation. It is the base and no nation can survive
without education and it is one of the major causes of prosperity and bright future (Spiegle, 2012).
Hence, it is important that the education policy of every country should be devised according to the
situation and the era time. Different countries have different education systems and methods in place
(Wobmann 2001). The following paper will focus on the differences in the education system in United
States and Japan.
One of the largest differences between the American and the Japanese school system is the school
year. Japanese school year starts from April and has three semesters. Due to the three semester system,

After the imposition of this law, Japan has one of highest literacy rates in the world and is as high as
99 percent. In contrary to the American education system, the elementary school comprises of large
classrooms with about 40 students and there is only one teacher that teaches all the subjects. Subjects
such as basic math, Japanese and physical education are offered by the subject. In recent years, more
subjects have been added with English being offered as a compulsory subject. (Amano 1990)
The middle school starts right after elementary school with harder class material, tough classes and
intense homework. As the elementary school students are given homework during the vacations, this
phenomenon continues throughout middle school also. In middle school, there are specific teachers
assigned to teach specific subjects with an additional teacher who acts as the class teacher . The
teacher also serves as a councilor and advisor and helps the students in their choice of high school. In
high school, the councilor advises on the best choice of college for the students based on their grades.
The first year of high school in Japan is similar to the freshman year of the American college as it has
a generalized education schedule. However, in the second year, the schedule of the students is more

Passover Tradition
Using Christ s last Passover meal, where He introduced the first instance of what is now the Lord s
Supper, as an example, we see that since AD 30 it has continued to evolve into a tradition that no
longer closely resembles the original one of 1446 B.C. Today, the holiday is becoming even more
individualistic, while still holding traditional values. Likewise, the Christian Communion has changed
considerably. For years it was observed, like the one in the Upper Room following Jesus resurrection.
Then when the Church began to move out of people s homes and into buildings, the meal was
discontinued. Today, in some Christian faiths, there is tremendous ritual and rules. In others, it is very
informal. Communion elements in prepackaged individually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Quite often the only aspect of the ritual that resembles the first is the quoting of the Scripture. Yet, that
is rather remarkable considering the historical timeline of the Christian faith through centuries of
changes.
The exegesis of this passage brings to light many important principles. First, the tradition of Passover
is nearly 3500 years old. Through devout practitioners, certain elements of the tradition have
continued against all odds, especially the recounting of historic events and the focus on hope and
thanksgiving. Second, the tradition of remembering Jesus sacrifice on the cross through thanksgiving,
breaking bread and drinking of the cup has continued for over 2000 years. Readings from Scripture,
whether from Matthew, Mark, Luke, John or 1 Corinthians, keeps the tradition alive. It is a reminder
of deliverance from sin and death and the promise of eternal salvation. Third, it is suggested that Jesus
will at some point again eat of the Passover meal, although it is uncertain if that is literal, figurative or
both. This speaks to the Jewish Christian that the Passover observance is not to be discontinued.
Fourth, it begs the question: Were the

The television was becoming a necessity in every household. The television show I Love Lucy was

because the lead actor was a woman and also an escort that didn t have sex with men. Instead, she

the way public viewed women as well because they were now showing signs of being independent

The Public s Trust Act Of Law Enforcement
Literature Review of Trust
I want to focus on the public s trust in the profession of law enforcement. Law enforcement
administrators are always looking for ways to enhance their departments image to the communities
they serve. This is a tough task because there are many factors that go into the public s perception of
law enforcement. While a local agency may have a good relationship with its community an incident
may happen across the country with the police misconduct and the local agencies reputation is
damaged because of it. Police Officers have accepted a position that holds a great deal of authority and
their actions are performed in the public eye. They are held by their communities to very high
standards, with traits such as honesty, integrity, equity and professionalism being some of the most
important. Every day thousands of police officers throughout the country do their job in a manner that
is exemplary but it takes the actions of just one officer to tarnish all of these good works.
Unfortunately these situations happen too often and seem to be increasing at an alarming rate.
We define trust as a certain belief and a sense of assurance that is based on strong but not logically
conclusive evidence, or based on some ones character, their ability, or truth that someone or something
has shown over a period of time or over experiences (Cambridge, 2015). Trust makes for a sense of
being safe or of being free of fear, enough so that one s focus can be on

A Discussion On Organizational Culture
It is the fourth day of the retreat and fifteen people are sitting in a conference room on the bank of the
Mohican River in Ohio. The conversation is difficult; to the rhythm of brief respites of silence, the
careful culling of words betrays the veiled tension. The moderator has been facilitating a discussion
centred on the difference between leading and managing; many wonder: What s the point? Everyone

supervisor s orders, who in turn executed the senior team s strategy and mandates. To participants,
facilitators look like supervisors, so they impatiently wait for an order. But they are not ordering, but
asking. Naturally, it took them a few days to connect with the facilitators, who had been laboriously
kneading them into a mind set where such an intangible conversation about organizational culture
would even be possible. After an hour of persistent nudging, one jaded machinist finally summarized
Tool, Inc. s culture: Do your eight, hit the gate . It would take more than just one retreat and
participants from every role, layer and team across the organization to finally achieve the headroom
necessary for the conversation facilitators meant to have that day. Defining the many differences
between leading and managing was, of course, not a purely semantic pursuit. Tool,

The Importance Of Managers For The World Of Business Today
Managers play an important role in the world of business today. They are an essential part of a

provide services in areas such as, business law, human resources, leadership, accounting, finance,
economics, research and statistics, operations management, marketing, and strategic planning. There

The next level of management would be the middle level. They are the general managers, regional
managers, and district managers of a company. Middle level managers are given the task of enforcing
the goals set by the top level managers. In addition, they set their own set of goals based upon the ones
set by the top level managers. Middle mangers do a lot work in assisting first line managers. They
help to encourage them to achieve business standards. They are like a liaison between the top level
managers and the first level managers because the communicate issues amongst the two levels. They
can monitor and help between small to large groups of people. A downside to being a middle level
manager is that sometimes messages can get mixed up between the top level and first level managers.
Of course as before the good side to it is the pay and the position. Many of these managers are former
first level managers that was promoted to the middle level management position. The last and final
level of management is the first level managers. The have got to be one of the most important

However, there is no universal approach and best practices must be adapted to fit the epidemiology of
specific ICUs and should also consider the available resources (10).
Radiation safety
Radiation safety of patients, radiographers and other individuals in ICU should be considered
according to the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle. General radiation safety
principles include time, distance and shielding (7). Since the patient is male, no pregnancy check is
needed.
To protect the patient, the length of time that a patient remains in the path of the x ray beam should be
minimized. Therefore, it is important for radiographers to avoid unnecessary repeats and thus
unnecessary exposure. Gonad shielding should be used on patients if possible, which is particularly
important for young patients. In addition, proper collimations and adjusted exposure factors should be
applied according to patient situations to minimize radiation dose (7).
Radiographers should protect themselves as well. The time spent in radiation fields should be limited
by taking shifts. Radiographers should stand as far away from source as possible to increase distance
between radiation source and themselves. They should stand behind appropriate radiation shields or,
more commonly, wear appropriate protection (7). According to a previous study, lead apron is the
most common method of radiation protection as it may

2.1.4 Swaps
Swap is an agreement that investors exchange cash flows at a specific time in the future. Generally,
both parties believe their exchanges are the same amount of cash flows. The most common swaps are
interest rate swap and currency swap. The transaction needs a dealer to realise and dealers get the
profits from transaction cost and the bid ask spread of the cash flows.
Take interest rate swap as an example, the hedgers may wish to have a certain fixed interest payment
for their loans. By contrast, the speculators are more willing to take a floating interest payment either
they have the same amount of loan or not. The dealer combine these two counterparties together and
create the swap for the exchange of fixed interest rate and floating interest rate (Simons Horward,
2003). To the interest payment data, the hedger pays the fixed interests to the speculator and received
the floating interests according to the dealer. Then they pay the floating interests to the cash market. In
this case, they only pay the fixed interest rate as agreed before and eliminate the risk of interest rate
uncertainty. For the speculators, they pay the floating interests and receive the fixed interests. If the
floating interest rate is greater than the fixed one, then they suffer a loss, otherwise they get the profits.
Generally, individuals and non banking institutions are able to be the dealer which may cause default

Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation ( Osic ) Is...
Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted with minimum
mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system
performance. The optimum detection technique increases the system complexity with improved error
rate performance. Therefore, MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives reduced error rate compared
to traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The system performance is analyzed in a
composite fading environment which deals with multipath and shadowing, known as Weibull gamma
(WG) fading environment. Along with the composite fading, a composite noise i.e. additive white
generalized Gaussian noise (AWGGN) model is taken into account to form various noise scenarios
such as impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and uniform noise. Consequently, generalized Q
function is used to develop such noise scenario. The average symbol error probability (ASEP) of
MIMO system is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC
detection in WG fading with AWGGN. Analytical expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H
function (FHF). These expressions demonstrate the best fit to simulation results.
Keywords MIMO, MMSE OSIC, WG fading, AWGGN, M QAM, ASEP.

Why The Secret Service Came

Abstract
The United States of America has an elite group of men and women who protect their President, and
handle monetary crimes such as counterfeiting, and financial crimes, they are called the United States
Secret Service. These top agents work hard daily to crack down on fraudulent crimes, and keep the
Commander in Chief alive. This report will highlight their work from 1850 1901. 3 presidents were
killed in this time period, and much of the USA s currency was fake and useless. All that considered,
somebody had to step in and fix things. The Secret Service was the saving grace, and helped to get the
nation back on the right track. This paper will show how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With over one third of the nation s money being fake, it became a real issue. When there is fake
money in the economy, it drains the value of the US dollar. It drains the value because, the more bills
that are out there, the less value there is to the ones in people s wallets, which tears apart the nation s
economy. ( U.S Secret Service in History, n.d.) Even today the US still takes counterfeiting very
serious, a single charge of carry fraudulent money can add up to 250,000 dollars in fines, and possibly
20 years in prison (Followill, n.d). Fake money still affects us today, and should be taken very
seriously. Death of Lincoln
On April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln should have approved the secret service as personal protection.
His decision to not approve the Secret Service for personal protection of himself could have saved his
life. Lincoln went to the play wife his wife, Mary. Meanwhile, there was a deadly lapse in protection
of Lincoln. John Parker was a local police officer assigned to honest Abe that night, but could not
contain his drinking problem. Parker went to have a drink. After that, John Wilkes Booth snuck, aimed
his Derringer pistol, and shot Lincoln in the back of the head. Lincoln was rushed across the street
where he died hours later. This is sad by how easily this could have been prevented this murder.
Unfortunately, the US Government did not learn their lesson quite yet.

Soil Erosion
What is soil erosion? Soil erosion is a natural process, occurring over geological time, and indeed it is
a process that is essential for soil formation in the first place. With respect to soil degradation, most
concerns about erosion are related to accelerated erosion, where the natural rate has been significantly
increased mostly by human activity. Soil erosion by water is a widespread problem throughout
Europe. Soil is naturally removed by the action of water or wind: such background (or geological )
soil erosion has been occurring for some 450 million years, since the first land plants formed the first

Diffuse overland flow. Note the raindrop impacts
Firstly, if rain arrives too quickly (i.e. with too high an intensity) for it to infiltrate: the runoff which
results is then known as infiltration excess runoff, or Hortonian runoff. Secondly, runoff may occur if
the soil has already absorbed all the water it can hold (i.e. because it is fully saturated, or if the soil is
frozen). Runoff which results from this situation is known as saturation excess runoff. As runoff
moves downhill, it is at first a thin diffuse film of water which has lost virtually all the kinetic energy
which it possessed as falling rain. Thus it moves only slowly, has a low flow power, and is generally
incapable of detaching or transporting soil particles.
The micro topography (i.e. small scale pattern of irregularities) of the soil s surface tends to cause this
overland flow to concentrate in closed depressions, which slowly fill: this is known as detention
storage or ponding . Both the flowing water, and the water in detention storage, protect the soil from
raindrop impact, so that rainsplash redistribution usually decreases over time within a storm, as the
depth of surface water increases. There are, however, complex interactions between rainsplash and
overland flow. If rain continues, the increasing depth of water will eventually overtop the micro
topographic depressions. Overland flow that is released in this way is likely to flow downhill more
quickly and

1. Introduction: Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are used for long term, large scale
oceanographic monitoring. They are classified into different types battery powered AUVs, propeller
driven AUVs and buoyancy driven under water gliders. Among these, underwater gliders are highly
efficient compared to the other types of gliders, because they spend most of their time in stable, steady
motion and they spend their energy only when they are changing their equilibrium state. There are
various ways in which these gliders can use buoyancy for maneuvering. For this model the movement
of these gliders is controlled by the servo actuators which move the mass relative to the vehicle s
frame and their motion control is affected by varying the parameters which affect the steady motion,
such as the center of mass and buoyancy. These parameters are to be controlled for attaining a steady
state motion. For this a control system needs to be designed which provides feedback in response to
the errors which are present in the state of motion. [1][3] The main important area of concern for the
underwater gliders has been their efficiency, then motion control is the secondary concern.

Objective: Investigate the reproductive safety of quetiapine in mono and polytherapy
Design: Cohort study using a prospectively collected database
Setting: Motherisk program, the Hospital for Sick Children
Participants: Pregnant women with mental illnesses who contacted motherisk clinic initially inquiring
information regarding the safety of quatiepine, 137 of those who confirmed the use of quetiapine and

However, future research using powerful sample size and more sound study design should be
conducted in order to confirm this finding.
Introduction:
Psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression and many others
most commonly occur during the reproductive years of women, especially during pregnancy. Recent
studies estimate that the range for the prevalence of psychiatric disorders occurring during pregnancy
is 14 % to 30.5%.1 3 Untreated psychiatric illnesses are found to be associated with many adverse
effects both on maternal health and pregnancy outcome. There is 50% risk for relapse of psychotic
disorder during pregnancy and post partum. 4 In addition to that, unfavourable pregnancy outcomes
such as low neonatal birth weight, neonatal hypoglycemia, increasing risk for congenital defects, and
adverse neurodevelopmental effects can also occur.5 These adverse consequences associated with
unmanaged mental disorders lead many patients to remain on pharmacological management using
antipsychotics throughout pregnancy.
Antipsychotics are used to manage symptoms of psychiatric disorder such as bipolar disorder,
schizophrenia, depression, and many others by blocking type 2 dopamine receptor (D2) in the
dopamine pathway of the brain.6 There are two main types of antipsychotics; typical antipsychotics
and atypical antipsychotics, which is also known

Government Roles In Government
Ramona Salvarez:
How is your role in government different from an elected official?
1. My role in government is to overlook cases and evaluate evidence. I make sure that the facts giving
are accurate and that everything is presented fairly and unbiased. Judges serve the people while we are
appointed by the president rather than the people.
I see the differences that you present, but what about their similarities, what makes them alike (judges
and elected officials)?
2. There are many things that make us the alike. We serve for the same purpose, to help the people.
Do you think judges should be elected or appointed by the government and president?

Robert Sternberg Essay
In the modern world, there is a difficult word that people are facing and having a hard time to identify
it, which is the word love. Nonetheless, there is a triangular theory that carried out by Robert
Sternberg which helps people to understand love. The three angles are used to represent three
dimensions (intimacy, passion, and commitment), and each point represent the extreme of each
dimension. This essay mainly discusses about Robert Sternberg and how to improve the current
relationship.
The three element are easy to understand. Firstly, Intimacy, the top of the triangle, is the feeling of
closeness and how close your partner and you are. Beside, commitment, the right side of the triangle,
is the decision people make to stay in the relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If two people are together for a couple months and feel close about each other but have yet to think
about future commitment is a form of like. If two people are planning to stay together and continue to
maintain a healthy sex life but do not feel very close to each other, then it is a form of fatuous love. If
a couple feel close, have a strong sexual desire, and connect emotionally but have not discussed about
future plan yet, then it is a form of romantic love. On the other hand, if this feeling appears randomly
and not always the same, then it is a companionate love. However, if you only have physical and
romantic contact with each other but nothing other than that, then it is a form of infatuation. If a love
is nothing but only commitment then it is a empty love. Nonetheless, if a love lasts 6 years and still
contains all the elements, then it is a consummate love.
Other than that, author gives out her own advice. She advocates that people with all different forms of
love should not give up easily, instead, they have to improve their relationship and try to add other
elements based on the status of love that they are currently

The Importance of Psychotherapy and Medication in the Treatment of Bulimia Nervosa
This researched argument is on the disorder of bulimia nervosa. The reason behind my writing about
the topic of bulimia is because my sister suffers from it and I want to know how to help her. I also
would like to be able to share the information I obtained while doing my research. I want to argue the
importance of having both psychotherapy and medication in the treatment for the people afflicted with
this serious health disorder. Society needs to be altered by the media and educated about the disorders
of bulimia and other disorders that are associated with eating problems. Hopefully my essay will
inform you about the health dangers and complications ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes the person that suffers from bulimia is in denial that they are being sick or affecting others.
Bulimia is an especially serious disease that does not only hurt the bulimic, but also everyone that
loves that person who is suffering. The main reason that I researched the disorder of bulimia is
because my sister suffers from bulimia nervosa. I have personally witnessed my sister¹s body and
health decay is very upsetting. The disorder also puts a strain on the entire family. No one wants to
watch a person¹s self inflicted starvation. Unfortunately many people who know someone suffering
from bulimia do not know how to help.
What is bulimia and how to notice the signs that the person you love has this serious disorder? By
definition, bulimia nervosa is a multifaceted disorder with psychological, physiologic, developmental
and cultural components. This definition states that there is no single underlying factor that causes this
disorder. A person may have a genetic predisposition for contracting this disorder. There are also other
factors that can cause an individual to become bulimic. There are two predisposing factors and they
are psychological and personality. Examples of psychological and personality factors are
perfectionism, impaired self concept, affective instability, poor impulse control and an absence of an
adaptive functioning to maturational task and developmental stresses. Relationships between parents
and peers can have affects on

Ida Tarbell s Influence On American History
Ida Tarbell Throughout her lifetime, Ida Tarbell served as an outspoken, strong willed and
controversial figure in American History. Her harsh exposés of the Standard Oil Company in McClure
s magazine, later culminated into The History of the Standard Oil Company (1904) earned her
volumes of attention as an investigative journalist, also known as a muckraker . As a Progressive Era
reformer she acted out of her appetite to change society, and in her case, squash trusts which were
hurting America s independent businesses. Directed by her father s experience of being driven out of
the oil business by the Standard Oil Company as well as her persistent persona, Tarbell was able to
disclose Rockefeller s corrupt trust through her incessant investigations leading to general awareness
of corporate trusts and a major supreme court ruling utilizing the Sherman Antitrust Act. Above all,
Ida Tarbell s ruthless muckraking resulted in society s awareness of toxic trusts and Rockefeller s
Standard Oil Company to be crushed. Tarbell s first hand experience of her father s oil tank business
failure due to the Standard Oil Company s scheming set her up for her major success as a muckraker
later in her career.
Ida Tarbell grew up in Erie County, Pennsylvania. Frank Tarbell, Ida s father, saw an opportunity and
switched jobs in order to become a part of the evolving oil business in their area. Soon business was
driven away by the Standard Oil Company and wealthy oil refiners

Anatole goes to help the other Lumumbists (fans of Lumumba) rebuild the Congo. • 6. The Help, By Kathryn Stockett Originally a book written by Kathryn Stockett, The Help, was transformed into a film in 2011, directed by Tate Taylor. Taking place in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi, the perspective of (mainly) two middle aged negro maids (Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson) were recorded in hopes of setting truth free. Miss Eugenia ( Skeeter ) Phelan, hopeful to be a journalist, claimed that black lives were not as pleasant as portrayed, therefore she desired to reveal the truth behind their lives through a book of interviews. The film, The Help, while not going in depth is quite historically accurate through the depiction of social classes, racial segregation, the Jim Crow laws, and the Civil Rights Movement (dealing with racism, violence, and homicide). ... While many would say that the Civil Rights Movement was barely covered in the film, this section alone utters a thousand words. When Eugenia Phelan s supervisor, Elaine Stein, conveys to Phelan to speed her novel up, then she is implying that the movement could pass at any moment. Implying that rather instead of a movement, it was just a temporary period of uprisings. While Elaine Stein had all the best intentions in assisting the blacks by publishing the book, what she said can be implied as what numerous whites were thinking. With the Civil Rights Movement came a lot of violence and murder. Medgar Evers was a prominent leader within the movement until Byron Beckwith assassinated him in 1963 (A Critical Review of the novel The Help). In the film when Evers dies, the bus let all blacks off, and then takes the rest of the whites home. Aibileen Clark scurries home frightened for her life, so much so that she slips and injures her knee. This goes to not only demonstrate the historical accuracy of the Civil Rights Movement and the death of a very hopeful leader, but it also portrays the inequality that blacks were ... • 8. Advantage And Disadvantage Of Decoder ABSTRACT This paper focus on designing of efficient encoder and decoder blocks which are aimed to reduce the power consumption in Network on Chip. The power consumption in NOC is caused by the links, routers and network interfaces. This is caused because as the number of cores in NOC increases the gap between the links decreases the coupling capacitance value increases due to which the power consumption increases. The proposed scheme does not require any modifications in router and link architecture and there is no network performance degradation. The encoder is designed in such a way to calculate the power consumption and based on power value the input data is encoded before transmission. I think we all got lost in those underground tunnels. No, not lost. We just lived there. by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Dysfunctional families can lead to a few bad things in life, especially towards their own children. When having a bad effect towards each other, they usually get lost in what the problem is and forget about how to overcome them. The negative effects can also change an individual s identity as well. Family dysfunction can have a negative effect on an individual s identity in several ways. One way family dysfunction affects an individual s identity is by lack of affection. First, when a child does not get the affection needed from their family. For example, when a child starts to grow up. They are needing affection whenever they want whether it being alone, tired, happy, or to feel encouraged. It makes themselves feel good when getting enough affection from their parents. Yet without it, it would make the child feel depressed and alone. In the Erickson s Stages of Psychosocial Development by Kendra Cherry, Erickson talks about what would happen when a child does not get affection (stage 1). The child would start to isolate themselves from others around them when growing up and feel self conscious. Secondly, when the child grows up and does not get enough affection, the child grows up and will isolate themselves from society. For example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Essay On Mark Twain Mark Twain once stated, Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow mindedness. This quote should let us all know how much travel actually meant to him. In his life, he did a lot of traveling and exploring. From a newspaper apprentice to a pilot Mark Twain lived a rather adventurous life . First, most people think that your childhood can have a pleasant or unpleasant effect on your adulthood. Mark Twain was born Samuel Clemens on November 30, 1835 in the frontier village of Florida, Missouri ( Mark Twain Biography.com ). He spent his boyhood in nearby Hannibal, on the bank of the Mississippi River, observing its busy life, fascinated by its romance, but chilled by the violence and bloodshed it bred.(28 Cox) During his childhood he became exposed to slavery, at one point he actually discovered a body of a drowned slave. At 12, Twain would actually have to drop out of school due to the sudden death of his father John Clemens; he would become a young apprentice ( MarkTwainBiograpgy.com ). Twain wasn t even a teen and basically had to become the man of the house not by choice but basically by force, this more than likely made Twain the hard worker that he was. Next, one could say you should treat every job as if it is actually your career, as if you would be doing it for the rest of your life. Mark Twain had several different jobs. History Of Vaccines Introduction to Vaccinations History of Vaccinations Laying the foundation for modern vaccinology in 1796, Edward Jenner observed a milkmaid with the cowpox infection appeared to be immune to the outbreak of smallpox. By inoculating an eight year old boy with the pus from an infected milkmaid, and exposing smallpox material to the boy weeks later, Jenner demonstrated smallpox immunization; as the boy never fell ill (Stern, 2005). An immune compromised patient, such as those taking immune suppressive agents (organ donor, leukemia), cannot be given this vaccine as it produces the actual disease (Clem, 2011). Hence, another disadvantage of live microbes is that they have the ability to mutate and regain pathogenic factors. This was known to occur with live (oral) polio vaccine, where the microbe reverted into a form that paralysed the vaccinated host (1 in 750,000 doses)(Nathanson, 2008). As a result of this, industrialized countries only inoculate the vaccine through inactivated polio vaccine (IPV), which cannot revert. And finally, live attenuated vaccine failure can occur due to antibody interference, with replication of the vaccine pathogen and lead to poor response to the vaccine. Live attenuated vaccines can be difficult to develop, as they are fragile and can be damaged by heat or light. Though they must be handled and stored carefully, live attenuated vaccines elicit a long lasting and protective immune ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Passover Tradition Using Christ s last Passover meal, where He introduced the first instance of what is now the Lord s Supper, as an example, we see that since AD 30 it has continued to evolve into a tradition that no longer closely resembles the original one of 1446 B.C. Today, the holiday is becoming even more individualistic, while still holding traditional values. Likewise, the Christian Communion has changed considerably. For years it was observed, like the one in the Upper Room following Jesus resurrection. Then when the Church began to move out of people s homes and into buildings, the meal was discontinued. First, the tradition of Passover is nearly 3500 years old. Through devout practitioners, certain elements of the tradition have continued against all odds, especially the recounting of historic events and the focus on hope and thanksgiving. Second, the tradition of remembering Jesus sacrifice on the cross through thanksgiving, breaking bread and drinking of the cup has continued for over 2000 years. Readings from Scripture, whether from Matthew, Mark, Luke, John or 1 Corinthians, keeps the tradition alive. It is a reminder of deliverance from sin and death and the promise of eternal salvation. Law enforcement administrators are always looking for ways to enhance their departments image to the communities they serve. This is a tough task because there are many factors that go into the public s perception of law enforcement. While a local agency may have a good relationship with its community an incident may happen across the country with the police misconduct and the local agencies reputation is damaged because of it. Police Officers have accepted a position that holds a great deal of authority and their actions are performed in the public eye. They are held by their communities to very high standards, with traits such as honesty, integrity, equity and professionalism being some of the most important. Every day thousands of police officers throughout the country do their job in a manner that is exemplary but it takes the actions of just one officer to tarnish all of these good works. Unfortunately these situations happen too often and seem to be increasing at an alarming rate. We define trust as a certain belief and a sense of assurance that is based on strong but not logically conclusive evidence, or based on some ones character, their ability, or truth that someone or something has shown over a period of time or over experiences (Cambridge, 2015). Generally, both parties believe their exchanges are the same amount of cash flows. The most common swaps are interest rate swap and currency swap. The transaction needs a dealer to realise and dealers get the profits from transaction cost and the bid ask spread of the cash flows. Take interest rate swap as an example, the hedgers may wish to have a certain fixed interest payment for their loans. By contrast, the speculators are more willing to take a floating interest payment either they have the same amount of loan or not. The dealer combine these two counterparties together and create the swap for the exchange of fixed interest rate and floating interest rate (Simons Horward, 2003). Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted with minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system performance. The optimum detection technique increases the system complexity with improved error rate performance. Therefore, MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives reduced error rate compared to traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The system performance is analyzed in a composite fading environment which deals with multipath and shadowing, known as Weibull gamma (WG) fading environment. Along with the composite fading, a composite noise i.e. additive white generalized Gaussian noise (AWGGN) model is taken into account to form various noise scenarios such as impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and uniform noise. Consequently, generalized Q function is used to develop such noise scenario. The average symbol error probability (ASEP) of MIMO system is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC detection in WG fading with AWGGN. Analytical expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H function (FHF). These expressions demonstrate the best fit to simulation results. Keywords MIMO, MMSE OSIC, WG fading, AWGGN, M QAM, ASEP. 1. With respect to soil degradation, most concerns about erosion are related to accelerated erosion, where the natural rate has been significantly increased mostly by human activity. Soil erosion by water is a widespread problem throughout Europe. Soil is naturally removed by the action of water or wind: such background (or geological ) soil erosion has been occurring for some 450 million years, since the first land plants formed the first soil. Note the raindrop impacts Firstly, if rain arrives too quickly (i.e. with too high an intensity) for it to infiltrate: the runoff which results is then known as infiltration excess runoff, or Hortonian runoff. Secondly, runoff may occur if the soil has already absorbed all the water it can hold (i.e. because it is fully saturated, or if the soil is frozen). Runoff which results from this situation is known as saturation excess runoff. As runoff moves downhill, it is at first a thin diffuse film of water which has lost virtually all the kinetic energy which it possessed as falling rain. Thus it moves only slowly, has a low flow power, and is generally incapable of detaching or transporting soil particles. The micro topography (i.e. small scale pattern of irregularities) of the soil s surface tends to cause this overland flow to concentrate in closed depressions, which slowly fill: this is known as detention storage or ponding . Both the flowing water, and the water in detention storage, protect the soil from raindrop impact, so that rainsplash redistribution usually decreases over time within a storm, as the depth of surface water increases. There are, however, complex interactions between rainsplash and overland flow. If rain continues, the increasing depth of water will eventually overtop the micro topographic depressions. Overland flow that is released in this way is likely to flow downhill more quickly and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are classified into different types battery powered AUVs, propeller driven AUVs and buoyancy driven under water gliders. Among these, underwater gliders are highly efficient compared to the other types of gliders, because they spend most of their time in stable, steady motion and they spend their energy only when they are changing their equilibrium state. There are various ways in which these gliders can use buoyancy for maneuvering. For this model the movement of these gliders is controlled by the servo actuators which move the mass relative to the vehicle s frame and their motion control is affected by varying the parameters which affect the steady motion, such as the center of mass and buoyancy. These parameters are to be controlled for attaining a steady state motion. For this a control system needs to be designed which provides feedback in response to the errors which are present in the state of motion. [1][3] The main important area of concern for the underwater gliders has been their efficiency, then motion control is the secondary concern.

However, future research using powerful sample size and more sound study design should be conducted in order to confirm this finding. Introduction: Psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression and many others most commonly occur during the reproductive years of women, especially during pregnancy. Recent studies estimate that the range for the prevalence of psychiatric disorders occurring during pregnancy is 14 % to 30.5%.1 3 Untreated psychiatric illnesses are found to be associated with many adverse effects both on maternal health and pregnancy outcome. There is 50% risk for relapse of psychotic disorder during pregnancy and post partum. 4 In addition to that, unfavourable pregnancy outcomes such as low neonatal birth weight, neonatal hypoglycemia, increasing risk for congenital defects, and adverse neurodevelopmental effects can also occur.5 These adverse consequences associated with unmanaged mental disorders lead many patients to remain on pharmacological management using antipsychotics throughout pregnancy. Antipsychotics are used to manage symptoms of psychiatric disorder such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, and many others by blocking type 2 dopamine receptor (D2) in the dopamine pathway of the brain.6 There are two main types of antipsychotics; typical antipsychotics and atypical antipsychotics, which is also known ... If a couple feel close, have a strong sexual desire, and connect emotionally but have not discussed about future plan yet, then it is a form of romantic love. On the other hand, if this feeling appears randomly and not always the same, then it is a companionate love. However, if you only have physical and romantic contact with each other but nothing other than that, then it is a form of infatuation. If a love is nothing but only commitment then it is a empty love. Nonetheless, if a love lasts 6 years and still contains all the elements, then it is a consummate love.
