Women in The Duchess of Malfi and The Changeling Essay
The Duchess in John Webster s tragic play, The Duchess of Malfi, and Beatrice Joanna in
Thomas Middleton and William Rowley s The Changeling, are both strong women living in a
male dominated society. The two women attempt to free themselves from this subordination by
choosing to love that they desire. Both pay with their lives for this chance at freedom, but differ
in their moral decisions about how they attempt it. Beatrice Joanna s plan involves murder,
whereas the widowed Duchess merely lives the life she chooses, then plots to leave Malfi. Both
women are forced into their actions, but, whereas Beatrice Joanna is Machiavellian in her actions,
the Duchess is morally superior. Webster based his play on a real life 16th... Show more content on

It is her brothers, Ferdinand and the Cardinal, who are murderous and immoral in their plot to
save the family reputation and inheritance. It is they who are consumed with aristocratic pride. It
is their sibling jealousy and male pride that causes them to kill the Duchess. From the onset of the
play the Duchess is described as noble and virtuous. Antonio says: Her days are practiced in such
noble virtue That sure her nights nay, more, her very sleeps Are more in heaven than other ladies
schrifts (1.1.201). She is sexually confident and outgoing, and views marriage as a positive, loving
venture. On the contrary, her brothers see marriage as a prison for women and a playhouse for
men. The Cardinal believes The marriage night/Is entrance into some prison (1.1.326), and
Ferdinand views it as the males time for sex when he says And those joys,/Those lustful
pleasures, are like heavy sleeps/Which do forerun man s mischief (1.1. 328). The Duchess
defies society s view of marriage. She marries the second time for love, but only after she has had
an active sex life, and three children. Furthermore, it is she who proposes to Antonio, and it is she
who puts a ring on his finger. When he kneels before her, she helps him up. Here marriage is not a
contract where husband is superior to wife, but rather

Comparing The Poems Kojiki And The Man
The Kojiki and the Man yoshu reflect the historical background of Japan, and they have both been
praised with masculine style. Both of them contain various songs and poems, and legitimize the
Yamato rulers by using some techniques. The Man yoshu is created with the concept of celebrating
the nature, not as transcendent entity and beyond the realms of rulers. However, it is for the world
of heaven and composing the land of Yamato and ruled by the first imperial line which is
establishing its authority through the realm. Additionally, in the article Manyoshu reflects the
typical sequence to show the Yamato authority of ruler by adopting makurakotoba which is useful
to modify some references to legends, especially place name . For example,

Teacher Student Relationship With Students
The Teacher Student Relationship
School begins at age five, or for some even before that, and so begins the excruciating routine of
waking up at an early hour to be ready to be at a place where you didn t ask to be, to be taught by
an older stranger about something you don t understand. However, in the life of a human being this
routine that goes on for years is essential to our lives, as well as those older strangers who teach
about subjects that you don t understand. Those older strangers have the responsibility to pass on
knowledge to their students and the given knowledge, whether taken or not, will determine their
future. Is everyone comfortable or willingly to accept the teachings of a total stranger? Of course
not, therefore this total stranger has to have an identification to the students, but not necessarily
just a name. Teachers must develop a relationship with their students because teacher student
relationships affect a student s academic excellence.
As a student myself I witness the rebellious outburst of students that will at no end do everything,
but be productive in class. What is the root of this refusal towards learning? This resistance to
education is a nature acquired from the famous phrase that school is boring or school is hard and
those rebellious students disengage themselves from the class and teacher. When a child transitions
into being a student there has to be an engagement to pull them into a pleasure or some sort of
ambition for learning

Public Housing Policy in Singapore
1INTRODUCTION
The Singapore public housing policy since its establishment has proved to provide shelter for the
population and has contributed significantly to the economic, social and political development of
Singapore. This policy has been the benchmark for the best public housing by other countries
notably China and Hong Kong (Yang, 2010; Wong, 2011).
The public housing policy implementation has been spearheaded by Housing and Development
Board (HDB) to tackle post war economic problems such as rapid population growth, high
unemployment rate and a critical shortage of sanitary housing (HDB, 2014). The policy was also
aimed to mitigate social problems such as riots and strikes among the different ethnic groups (HDB,
2014).
The success story of public housing policy implementation lies in the higher economic growth and
social stability of Singapore. Economic growth saw 82% of the population live in 879,000 HDB
flats located across 23 towns and estates with home ownership rate at 95% high (Department of
Statistics, 2014). In terms of social stability, the policy implementation has freed Singapore from
race riot since 1969 (Department of Statistics, 2014).
However, rising issues and concerns of ageing population, income disparity and higher housing
price have destabilized Singapore s public housing policy (Population White Paper, 2013). In light
of these challenges, new measures and directions have to be introduced by the Government to keep
public housing policy relevant

Black Elk Speaks Essay
Black Elk Speaks The division in the world among the races always was and will be one of the
biggest issues that the people have to deal with and solve. Many cultures, Indian culture is one of
the examples, were affected by the persecution of the people who were though to be superior to
others. Indian culturewas persecuted by whites, which wanted to wipe off the Indian civilization
from the face of the world. The Native Americans wanted the same as anyone would, peace and
freedom for their people. The Native Americans did not consider white way of living righteousfor
them, they were spiritual and had a different outlook on life, and did not want interference from
outside world.

Throughout Black Elk s life, their community was moved from one place to another, when they
reached other destinations after awhile they had to fight whites and to live through loses and hard
times. Black Elk always had the visions of the people dancing and the Grandfathers that were
symbolizing villages in many dreams that he had to save. By telling the dreams to the village,
they powered themselves and were going to fight in small groups relying on spirits to help them
in, saying today is a good day to live .
The Black Elk realized in having the power to cure people as few other spiritual leaders could.
Black Elk, being a little afraid, always influenced his friends into fighting believing and thinking
always about his vision, which seemed reality to him. All his life he was getting more strength
after losing someone close to him, this was a sign of the flow of powers to him from the spiritual
world. Going through sorrow and despair, Indians had to stand up for themselves. Indians were
proudly keeping on fighting the Wasichu, many times left with two horses and wounded.
The book showed that the Indians destiny was to roam through the world in finding a better life,
which they could not find anywhere, because they were persecuted and being destroyed.
When Black Elk was older and wiser, he started to realize how wrong he was in following his

Sam Houston Annexation Of Texas
The independence of Texas from Mexico and its admission into the United States of America was
made possible because of the will of a single man. He was a military leader and politician whose
actions made a lasting mark. Sam Houston took a stand for Texas through his leadership in the
Texan army, securing self rule, and by setting the foundation for the annexation of Texas
. Before the
arrival of Sam Houston, Stephen Austin, an American, set out to colonize land owned by the
Spanish Empire. Continuing the plans of his father Moses, Austin arranged the movement of
hundreds of families to his newly acquired space as a result of a Spanish grant (Encyclopedia of
American History Expansion and Reform 1813 1855 Volume IV). However, this arrangement...

Essay on Brown-Forman Distillers Corporation
Question 1 As a leading producer, marketer and importer of wines and distilled spirits, Brown
Forman was the fifth largest distiller in the United States. But the company spent huge amount of
money advertising premium brands and significantly less on low profit brands. In the late 1970 s,
the whiskey market declined and this presented Brown Foreman with growth challenges in a
mature market. Brown Foreman s response to market pressures and competition was to
aggressively move into other faster growing segments of the alcohol beverage market which
required it to expand its product lines. The company also intended to increase its advertising spend
to $86 million to aggressively promote its alcoholic product lines. The company also... Show more

The Final Solution from Witnesses to the Holocaust
The years of 1941 and 1942 paint a vivid description of ugly, taking place events too hard to take
in, and the death of 6 million innocent people. The Final Solution in an excerpt from Witnesses to
the Holocaust: An Oral History, where Sam Bankhalter and Hinda Kibort detail their horrifying
account of Hitler s rash and day to day life in the Nazi concentration camps where they were
imprisoned. The Final Solutionwas a plan systematically matriculated by the Nazi to exterminate
European Jews by placing them in work camps designed for certain death.
Sam Bankhalter was just fourteen at the time when he was captured by the Nazis in his native
land of Poland and exiled to Auschwitz. In a detailed account he paints the picture of life as a
Jew during Hitler s fury and the unimaginable accounts of terror that occurred. According to
Bankhalter, racism of European Jews was already occurring in Poland even before Hitler
invaded, and their slogan was Jew get out of here and go to Palestine. He accounts of being
beaten and spit on the school grounds on a daily basis, long before Hitler invaded. Bankhalter
describes his journey to the ghetto as laced with barbed wire and Nazi mocking Jews cutting off
men s beards and beating them as they yelled at the Jews to assemble. The Nazi s only gave them
about twenty minutes to pack, leaving them time to only gather the necessities, which would only
be stripped from them later. Bankhalter was only in the ghetto for a short time, and then sent

The Turing Test
Can a machine made by intelligent minds have an intelligent mind of its own? This was the
question that was being asked in the 1950s. A man by the name of Alan Turing decided to
venture out and analyze this question for himself by coming up with a thought experiment in
which he called the imitation game. This is a game that involves three players. One of each
gender and one who plays the judge to determine the gender of players A and B. A s job is to try
and trick C the judge into guessing the wrong gender. If C guess incorrectly, then A passes wins
the game, or passes the Turing Test. Now, if we were to imagine a machine to replace A s position
in the game and now the judge has to figure out who is human and who is machine. If the machine

For example if we were to turn our attention to the animal kingdom and look at chimpanzees, few
people would deny the notion that chimpanzees can think, but chimpanzees can t pass the Turing
Test. If we were to look at dogs, we can see that they are intelligent by being emotionally there for
their owners and being able to learn a myriad of different tricks, but they can t pass the Turing
Test. Using the standards that the Turing Test has laid out for us, this would mean that
chimpanzees and dogs aren t intelligent which seems to go against the grain of our common
sense. Likewise, a thinking computer could fail the Turing Get as well if the response that were
laid out for it were explicitly non human or it was not yet psychologically complex enough. We
can now consider the idea that the Turing Test is narrow minded because it only says an object is
intelligent if things are able to hold a conversation with a human. There are animals out there who
clearly show signs of intelligence, but can not hold a conversation with us, but that does not mean
as a majority we consider these animals to not have any signs of

The Fuzzy Logic System
Artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques provide a qualitative as well as quantitative
assessment of the power system.
1. Fuzzy Logic: The Fuzzy logic system (FLS) is a logic system which represents reasons and
knowledge in a fuzzy manner for reasoning under uncertainty or describes in imprecise manner for
human interpretation. Not like Boolean logic and classic logic which assumes that entire fact is
either true or false, but fuzzy logic allows Boolean logic to tackle with vague and imprecise
expressions of human understanding. Not like the classic logic systems, it models the reasoning
for imprecision model that plays important role in ability of human knowledge to understand an
estimated or inexact answer for a question which is based on store of knowledge which is
approximate, not complete or totally unreliable. It is the best approach and way to go for fuzzy

2:00 a.m., darkness still blanketed Black Tom Island in New York Harbor, a major munitions
depot. Although the U.S. was neutral during World War I it was no secret that they were selling

Fahrenheit 451 Character Analysis
Fahrenheit 451 People can change a lot across the time of their life, in some instances however,
people can change in just a few weeks. Guy Montag, fictional character in Ray Bradbury s
Fahrenheit 451, is a fireman of a dystopian future where books are illegal and are to be burned, but
in this story Guy Montagis the perfect example of change. Some of the things that influenced
Montag and changed with him throughout the story being; some of the people he met, his
emotions for his strange wife Mildred, and his views on fire and books. Guy Montag didn t
seem to know that many people, but the people he did meet changed him quite a lot. That being,
when he met Faber at a park one late afternoon, Montag had little clue that Faber would soon help
him become what his own job had fought against: a book reader. Faber not only changed Montag
by trying to give him a better understanding of books, but by telling Montag how to be smart
about the book situation: Watch it I m with you, remember that. I understand how it happened. I
must that your blind raging invigorated me. God, how young I felt! But now I want you to feel
old I want a little of my cowardice to be distilled in you tonight... (100) Faber tells Montag after
he threatens two women who were annoying him by reading a book. After Montag s outburst,
he doesn t vent his anger by threatening people with books that society agreed to burn. But
before Faber was introduced into the story, there was Clarisse, the crazy seventeen year old from
across the street. Clarisse taught Montag, without even meaning to, to slow down and to not
live life like all of society had made it to be: fast paced, non caring, and quite dumbed down. I
sneak around and listen in the subways. Or I listen at soda fountains, and do you know what?
What? People don t talk about anything. Oh they must! No, not anything (28). As Clarisse
further explains that everyone is to caught up on the full wall sized TV s and the jet cars that
people would go out with on weekends and possibly return in a bodybag. Clarisse also showed
Montag things you could only notice if you were to stop and take a good look at such as how the

The Day Of Love And Romance
It all came down to thirty two final minutes, a culmination of tedious hours, days, weeks, and
months to prepare for thirty two more sixties. My journey during those months was something
incredible; that voyage resulted in the most significant learning experience I have encountered.
February 14th, 2015, the day of love and romance, yet my day was marked with anger, pain, and
grief. Destiny Christian s third consecutive state championship basketball game against Providence
Academy in my high school tenure dominated most of my thoughts and time that day,
consequently not new to the stage, the environment, or the atmosphere, but oh what a novice I
was to the newfound pressure that lay on my weak, narrow shoulders. My first game leading the
charge and not humbly bowing down to the heavy barrage of upperclassmen. Nevertheless, my
duty was not fulfilled as we lost and I felt as I let down friends, families, and a whole school full
of top notch individuals. Typically, a state championship tournament includes teams from that
respective state only, but my athletic association deemed a tad unique in that aspect. Providence
Academy, based out of Rogers, Arkansas, recruits players from overseas to improve their teams,
the only team in the athletic association that does this. These methods enabled them to have a 6 9
Nigerian center, a 6 5 Lithuanian point guard, and a 6 4 German small forward, a combo that
towered over and bullied almost everyone they played, including my team. Our

This quotation occurs in the beginning of Book 1, in the middle of Chapter 1, at the end of

In the film, October Sky , the main occupation during that era was to work at the coal mine;
almost every man worked as a miner to obtain money to raise their family. The coal mine is a

respect that decision. Although no one except for the new king, Bharata s, mother wanted him

Rama strove to be the perfect son thus fulfilling his duty of obeying his father s wishes. Even as
Bharata begged him to take his place as ruler instead, Rama denied it on the basis that he had to
obey his father and follow his every word. As Rama obeys his father, Sita, Rama s wife, convinces

Improving Health, Education, And The Environment
The MDGs identify and quantify specific gains that could be made to improve the lives of the
world s poor people. Their aim is to reduce poverty while improving health, education, and the
environment. These goals were endorsed by 189 countries at the September 2000 UN Millennium
General Assembly in New York. They focus on significant, measurable improvements for the efforts
of the World BankGroup, governments, other international organizations, and other partners in the
developmentcommunity. The MDGs grew out of the agreements and resolutions that have resulted
from world conferences organized by the UN in the past 10 15 years. Each goal is to be achieved
by 2015, with progress to be measured by comparison with 1990 levels. Although the... Show more

But providing assistance isn t limited to providing financial aid. Developing countries may also
benefit if trade barriers are lowered, hence allowing a freer exchange of goods and services.
Achieving the goals is an enormous challenge. Partnerships between the Bank Group, the UN
Development Group (UNDG), and other organizations, as well as between donors and developing
countries, are the only way to ensure coordinated and complementary efforts. The UNDG consists
of the many UN programs, funds, and agencies engaged in development assistance and related
activities. The Bank Group participates in the UNDG and supports its framework for greater
coherence and cooperation in UN development operations.
Strategic Framework
The Bank Group s strategic framework concentrates on the twin pillars of:
1.building an appropriate climate for investment, jobs, and sustainable growth so that economies
will grow,
2.Investing in and empowering poor people to participate in development.
In recent years, the executive directors have underscored the continued relevance of these
priorities, have reaffirmed the need for selectivity in the Bank Group s work, and have called for
greater collaboration with development partners. In order focus on those pillars, the executive
directors have standardized the operational policies, practices and procedures. Furthermore, they
have discussed the needs of meeting requests of low income, heavily indebted and fragile countries.

The Arguments Of Donald Trump
Over the past year and a half, the NFL has received a lot of grief for what their players are doing
during the national anthem. Most recently things have really started to heat up when Donald
Trump got involved. He used profanity to describe the players that kneel and stated that any
players that kneel should be fired. There are a lot of people that have this same opinion, but
since he is the President, it gets made into a much bigger deal. He is supposed to be the leader of
our Nation and it seems like there are bigger issues in the world to worry about. People are
furious with him saying this about the NFL players and thinks he should stick to those other
issues. He thinks these players are disrespecting the flag and the great people that fought for our
nation and wanted to state his opinion on it. Isn t it their civil liberty to decide if they want to
stand or not? Also, is this what Colin Kaepernick was going for when he originally took his knee,
or is his idea being lost in the mix? With the research that I have done, I have a clearer perspective
on Donald Trumps comments, Colin Kaepernick s purpose for kneeling, and even my own opinion
on this situation. August 14th, 2016, the San Francisco 49ers first preseason game, and Colin
Kaepernick is sitting down for the national anthem. Then the next week, August 20th, he is sitting
again while the anthem plays, nothing is said though, because he is injured. Fast forward to the

The Ethics of Crowdsourcing

Ethics of Crowdsourcing
Crowdsourcing ; Innovation or Exploitation?
Abstract
Crowdsourcing is the concept of mass collaboration of external outsourced tasks typically from an
institution to its community (Howe, 2005). This paper explores the two sides of crowd sourcing;
whether this net enabled community collaboration is accelerating innovation or exploiting the
laborers with menial tasks of little to no benefit through an analysis of Soylent, one of the latest
innovations in crowd sourcing using John Rawls Theory of Justice, the Veil of Ignorance, I aim to
demonstrate how can we all benefit from crowdsourcing and harness the true power of collective
intelligence and mass collaboration just by maintaining a fine ... Show more content on

In 1714, the British Government was stuck for a solution to what they called The Longitude
Problem which made sailing difficult and deadly (killing 1,000s of seamen every year) (Thomas,
2011). Inaccurate Longitude charts were causing sailors to be lost at sea, and in some cases people
starved. Seeking innovation, the British Government offered ВЈ20,000 for people to invent a
solution (ВЈ20,000 in 1714 is around $4.7 million dollars in 2010) (Thomas, 2011). Innovative
scientists and sailors came together to formulate information that is more accurate. This is possibly
the first ever example of crowdsourcing; thus, solving the problems for many sailors. The contest
was considered unsolvable by many. John Harrison, the son of a carpenter, won the Longitude
contest. Harrison invented the marine chronometer (i.e. an accurate, vacuum sealed pocket watch)
(Thomas, 2011). His knowledge and brilliance helped solve navigation in the 1700 s. The
aristocrats were hesitant to award Harrison the prize but eventually paid him the ВЈ20,000
(Thomas, 2011). This example of crowdsourcing is a great one because it highlights one of the
principles of crowdsourcing innovation and creativity can come from anywhere (Thomas, 2011). In
the early 18th century, being able to navigate accurately was the difference of returning home or
not. Getting lost on a transoceanic voyage did not just mean that a competing nation could

The Importance Of Technological Changes In Education
From the past 20 years, there have been profound changes in education that people ever dreamt of.
Starting from the Abacus which made learning math easier, to word processor that changed the
means of writing and presenting a research paper; from the very beginning technological changes
has shaped education but with the addition of digital changes it has widely increased the speed of
transforming. According to the Global Competitiveness of Factors (2017), in year 2016 2017, the
Philippines ranked 83 over 138 countries under the Technological Readiness Pillar. The
Technological Readiness pillar have 7 indicators, three of which are based on opinion survey
questions (availability of latest technologies, firm level technology absorption, and FDI and
technology transfer) among CEO respondents whose observations determine the country s ranking.
Thus, technology has almost influenced every aspect of life today and educationis no exception.
According to Jayson (2013), both private and public sectors approve that technological
innovations will continue to have major effects on teaching approaches over the coming years.
The walls of the classrooms are indeed no longer a barrier as technology provides new ways of
learning, communicating, and connecting efficiently. As a result, according to Ayas (2002), new
teachers are expected to enter the educational field with knowledgenot only in their content areas,

Kennedy s last involvement with the Apollo project was his trip to Cape Canaveral to view
what he fought so hard for the first stage of the giant Saturn V. rocket. It was only a few short
months later when America would mourn the death of one of the greatest presidents; it was on
November 22, 1963 when John F. Kennedy was shot down in Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas,
Texas. The one man whose real interest in seeing a man land on the moon had passed away, but
his dream was very much alive. Now it was up to Lyndon B. Johnson, the man later responsible for
the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. The years between Kennedy s death and the launch of Apollo 11
NASA Administrator James E. Webbguided the very popular Apollo project, but his name was
tarnished by the Apollo 10 tragedy on January 27, 1967. The three Astronauts Gus Grissom,
Edward White, and Roger Chaffe were strapped inside the Saturn V. rocket, and the capsule was
sealed when a flash came from the cabin and smoke followed. Capcom director Deke Slayton
immediately ordered a medical team, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
James E. Webb took all responsibility for the tragic accident, but it was the hatch that had a

The Prophetic Intuition Of Pope John Paul II And The...
Fr R. Cantalamessa pointed out, The prophetic intuition of Pope Paul VI had a determining role in
this (recognition of the CCR by the Church). In that, on Pentecost of 1975 at a meeting with its
leaders, he defined the Charismatic Renewal as a chance for the Church. Cardinal L.J. Suenens, a
protagonist of CCR, recognized it as a current of grace and convinced Pope Paul VIof the need for
the Church to accept and encourage the Renewal in order that it should not grow in isolation. In
the summer of 1975, some 10,000 Catholic charismatics gathered in the Catacombs of St.
Callistus in Rome for the Second International Congress. A special Mass was celebrated with
singing in tongues and prophecies at the Papal Altar in St. Peter s Basilica, Rome followed by the
historic special audience with Pope Paul VI.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) is much indebted to Saint Pope John Paul II for its
growth and acceptance in the Church through the unfailing support it received throughout his
Pontificate. At a special audience on 7 May 1981 to the participants of the Fourth International
Leaders Conference in Rome, Saint John Paul II said that he made his own the words of St Paul, I
give thanks to God every time I think of you (Phil 1:3).
Prior to his election, the future Pope Benedict XVI gave a very supportive description of the
Renewal in The Ratzinger Report: In the heart of a world desiccated by rationalistic skepticism a

Alcohol is a substance that has numerous diverse affects on the body both positive and negative.
Alcohol not only kills brain cells, but when taken in profusion it has almost no constructive affects.
Sure it can make one overlook his/her problems, but the consequences of drinking in excess far
outweigh the benefits. It is not a crime to get drunk, however alcohol will almost always cause one
to conduct them self in a way he or she would not normally behave. For instance, a sober man will

The abuse of alcohol over long periods of time may also cause diseases such as cirrhosis, acute
alcohol hepatitis, and the most severe liver disease. Cirrhosis is a disease in which the liver
becomes so scarred that the patient lacks sufficient healthy tissue to perform the organ?s
functions. Once you?ve got it, you are stuck with it. (Gross, 6) The worst thing about these
diseases is that you will not know you have them unless you are medically examined on a regular
basis. Alcohol consumption is a large contributor to the development of several types of cancer
mostly dealing with the neck and brain. We know that cancer kills and therefore it is safe to say
that in some cases, alcohol can be deadly. It is important to realize that alcoholism is a disease. A
heavy drinker will experience the effects of withdrawal syndrome (which include hypertension,
anxiety, disorientation, hallucinations, and seizures) if he decides to stop drinking. Being addicted
to alcohol is similar to being addicted to any other drug in that once one starts using, it is tough to
live without. It is also a ?gateway drug? just as marijuana and other sedatives. (Bennett, Woolf, 13

Heavy drinkers may develop a tolerance or ?immunity? to certain amounts of alcohol. That said the
more often you drink, the more you can handle next time. The human body recognizes alcohol as a
foreign substance and will use every method possible to

A common social theme of history is the constant battle of equal rights for both men and women.
Ever since the development of the first agricultural societies during the BC times, people have
been living in a society where paternalism and patriarchy dominated; men are always at the top of
the social hierarchy. Men were always the leaders, the priests, the ones who decide what was right
and what was wrong. Women have battled for equality with their malecounterparts ever since then.

Yet, many have discovered that women can perform just as well as men. After serving in battle and
demonstrating noteworthy acts of bravery and performance under enemy fire, women have been
earning Combat Action Badges. Two women Sergeant Leigh Ann Hester and Specialist Monica Lin
Brown have received Silver Stars, one of the highest military decorations a person can receive
(Mackenzie). These women have been doing extraordinary work in the field, explaining why
they received such a high symbol of military respect. Their lack of strength does not inhibit their
mentality and physicality to do whatever they need to do to protect their country. Also, females
who do enlist are generally more fit than the average woman (Mackenzie). This is a common
fallacy in the argument of those who say women are not as fit as men and therefore are not as
capable: they base their assumptions on the ability of the average women while remaining
oblivious to the ability of those who actually enlist. Militaries across the world have found that
with proper training, women can complete the same tasks as men that require strength that many
seem to say women lack (Mackenzie). During the Gulf War, about 400,000 female soldiers fought
and did not fail because of a lack of upper body strength (Quindlen). Rather, 33,000 of those
females directed artillery, flew planes, and served in construction squads

nomads. Regular, large scale trade was fostered by the Chinese demand for western products
(particularly horses) and by the Parthian state in northeastern Iran and its control of the markets in
Mesopotamia.
3. In addition to horses, China imported alfalfa, grapes, and a variety of other new crops as well as
medicinal products, metals, and precious stones. China exported peaches and apricots, spices, and
manufactured goods including silk, pottery, and paper.

Factors That Affect Water Loss Rates Essay
Desiccation
It is essential for amphibians to maintain a water balance during terrestrial migratory and dispersal
movements (Spotilia Berman 1976). If amphibians become dehydrated, their oxygen consumption
and metabolic state becomes at risk (Pough et al. 1983). As with movement rates, water loss rates
are species specific. The northern leopard frog has a higher loss rate than the marine toad due to the
northern leopard frog s higher diffusion rate of water through their permeably skin (Bentley Yorio
1976). Also, toads typically live a more terrestrial life than most frogs and therefore have developed
mechanisms to reduce water losses. Land cover type and associated micro environments play a big
role in the water losses as amphibians move through terrestrial landscapes. Vegetation can influence
soil moisture, humidity, shading, wind speeds, litter cover and other factors that influence water
loss rates at the micro environment scale.
Amphibians have developed both behavioral and physiological means of reducing water losses in
terrestrial environments. When anurans need moisture they will go into a water conserving
position where they crouch down to the ground so their stomach and feet are in contact with a
moist area (Pough et al 1983). A common method for anurans to conserve water and stay out of
the hot sun is to burrow under leaf litter (Dole 1965). Burrowing under layers of vegetation helps
avoid direct sun, heat and wind exposure. However, litter is often absent or

apples, Boy, and sell them in the city. Then you will have money and you will be happy. I wish
that I could give you something. But I have nothing left. I am just an old stump.I am sorry... Well,
said the tree, straightening herself up as she could, well, an old stump is good for sitting and
resting. Come, Boy, sit down, sit down and rest. All the tree wants is to show the boy she loves
him, throughout the story she shows us ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tree gets its happiness when he makes the boy happy. Cut down my trunk and make a boat, said
the tree. Then you can sail away... and be happy. I have no house, said the tree. The forest is my
house, but you may cut off my branches and build a house. Then you will be happy. Everything
the tree has, was given to the boy to make him happy. When the boy would come and plead for
supplies, the tree would not think twice about her decisions. If they would hurt her, or leave her
with less, all she would think about was how could I provide for this boy, how can I show him I
love him and want to make him happy.I bet you have someone so special to you, that all you
want to do is make them happy. For most of us, this would be our family. To the tree this was its
family. Can you imagine having family that doesn t love you. I can t. Even though the boy doesn t
show love to the tree, the tree is still willing to make the boy happy. That is true

Critical Reflection On Ethics
Critical Reflection
All three authors take a slightly different approach in explaining ethics with the analogies used, but
they are not that different at their core. Bonhoeffer (1995) describes a religious approach that
compares and contrasts the relationship with Jesus Christ and the influence on the ethical choices
of an individual. Palmer (2004), on the other hand, explains ethics using the wilderness and social
headliners to illustrate the current divide that exists. Finally, Borgmann (2006) uses a political
description of compromises for infrastructure that shapes the ethical views of the society such as the
Interstate Highway System that influenced future choices that now have consequences that need to
be managed. While the analogies are different, the root descriptions encompass a basic principle
that the conduct of an individual will determine the true ethical character of that person, but the
individual requires the support and direction from the society to truly influence a positive ethical
change. The expanse of that society is where the authors begin to divide with Bonhoeffer s (1995)
intended audience being countries based on Christian beliefs of the west, Borgmann (2006)
concentrating on the United States, and Palmer (2004) focusing on the individual within a specified
community that feeds to larger communities.
Each author describes in various methods how the actions of individuals will determine the nature
of the ethics they possess, but that the individual

Why Is Nuclear Power Bad
Nuclear power: good or bad? Nuclear energy to create power has been used for hundreds of years.
Today nuclear energy powers almost 11% of the world. It produces nearly no greenhouse gases
or co2 emissions. But it does leave behind nuclear waste that stays radioactive for decades.
Nuclear energy has been used for many years, but there are goods and bads to Nuclear powerfrom
nuclear energy.
Nuclear Energy has a long history of Grief. Since 1942, Nuclear Energy has grown and spread
worldwide. The history of Nuclear Energy begins in 1942 when enrico Fermi created the first
nuclear reactor, the Chicago Pile 1. Enrico left Italy to escape new Italian racial laws. He created
this reactor by fission. Which is also used as the fuel to the atomic bomb, which came 3 years after
at the trinity test ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fission can be controlled easier, that is why it is used the most. fission occurs by splitting an
atom, instead of putting two molecules by force at high speeds, and changing the atomic number
of the molecule. Fusion needs some requirements to occur, it needs high pressure and high
temperature, and at extreme levels to combine the Molecule. If this is tried, and is done wrong,
the damage could be devastating and even nuclear. This is a good source of power and has been
used for many years. Usually when they malfunction they are treated and nothing bad happens, but
if not treated, it could cause a nuclear meltdown, like what happened at 3 mile island on March
28th, 1979, and that s not good.
Nuclear Energy has many supporters around the world. The benefit of Nuclear Energy are clear
to many. People who are for Nuclear Energy, support it for many reasons. The outcome of
produced power can be changed, all you do is change the fuel entering the chain reactor (Page 11).
One main factor that puts nuclear energy on top is it lets out little air pollutants, greenhouse gases,
smog, slows global warming, and helps limit acid rain (Sally

Process Essay On Nails
Sometimes all a girl needs is a little boost of confidence. Some girls find that in a new outfit,
others find it in a new hairstyle. However, the most effective way to feel better about yourself is a
fresh set of acrylic nails. To get the perfect nails, the nail technician will prepare your nails, apply
the acrylic, and paint on the color of your choice.
Preparing your nails is crucial in the process of getting the best set of acrylic nails. In the first step,
the nail technician will remove any old nail polish using acetone and cotton balls. Next, they will
trim down your real nails. This provides a good base for the acrylic. To provide the ideal surface,
the nail technician will file the surface of your nails and push back your cuticles. After this, they
will apply a nail primer. The primer usually contains vitamins and will help protect your nails from
damage. After these steps are complete, applying the acrylic is the next step. ... Show more content

The first step is choosing the correct size plastic tips to fit your nails. Once the nail technician
gets the right size, they will use a dab of nail glue to secure it to the ends of your nails. Next, you
will choose your length, and the nail technician will cut it down. If the tip looks crooked, they
will file it back to perfection. Once your tips are how you want them to be, the nail technician
will load a small paintbrush with acrylic solution. Afterwards, they will dip the wet brush into the
powder. This combination on the brush creates a gel like substance that will be painted onto your
nail and the tips that were placed on earlier. After around a five minute drying time, filing and
shaping may be necessary. Once the shape is flawless, you are ready for the last step in getting the

In the above statement, we create a stored procedure called CheckUser, accountable for
authentication of username and password. Here the attacker simply injects ; in the query thereby
bypassing the authentication through the stored procedure.

By doing this, we can take away the ability for an attacker to make any changes to the database.
In the following example if the code is run with read and write permissions the attacker could
potentially delete all that data in the database. ; DROP TABLE users; #
But by having the database be read only for the executing script we can able to make any changes
to the database so drop table users command would have no effect on the database as a whole.
4.Configure Error Reporting: When attempting to attack a server, attacker tries to get any
information possible which hook on unauthorized access to the server. If an attacker can cause a
script to crash to split out any error messages, it helps to figure out the system s potential
vulnerabilities. However, if all the error messages are written internally it doesn t get any feedback
about what s going on in the application making it much more challenging to find a security
vulnerability.
5. Prevention Using Stored Procedures [13]: Stored procedures are being a part of database help
applications to interact with database server [13]. The blend of static examination and runtime
investigation is utilized to keep this put away system. The author at [15] proposed a mix of static
investigation and runtime observing to secure the security of potential vulnerabilities as put away

Asian Pacific Americans ( Apa )
Prior to this course, I had little to no knowledge on Asian Pacific Americans (APA). After weeks of
discussing and analyzing material that dealt with the hardships that minorities such as APA
individuals faced, I can conclude that this ethnic group underwent experiences that were not too
uncommon from that of Latinos and African Americans. Since population in California today,
consist of an average of 60% Asians and Latinos as stated in the book, Learning English/Learning
America by Juana Mora, Gina Masequesmay, Eunai Shrake, and Ana S. Munoz, it is safe to say
that students in classrooms nowadays are mainly those within these ethnic groups (Mora,
Masequesmay, Shrake, and Munoz, ix). I will be focusing on three of the many stories APA and
Latino students have to share in this book, that I felt related to me most as I also, am a second
generation student.
Ideally, immigration to America has been noted as a step in the right direction for several years. The
concept of the American Dream has been one of the main reasons behind immigrants choosing to
leave their hometown and in other cases, changes in government and enslavement has led
immigrants to the States. It is no wonder why they fight through battles most would have never
known existed. Asian AmericanThuy Lee, is daughter to immigrant parents who escaped Vietnam
during the communist takeover. Her story in particular, was a very detailed experience with words
that helped me perfectly envision her family s hardships on

We use Fujita Pearson to measure the strength or force of a tornado. There are 6 F scale
numbers. F6 is the highest category with wind speed 319 379 mph. Next, F5 is incredible tornado
with wind speed 261 318 mph. Next, F4 is devastating tornado with wind speed 207 260 mph. It is
completely capable of flattening cars and hurling cattle, and F1 can push a mobile home off its
foundation.
Naming tornadoes
The term comes from the Spanish word tornado . It is the past participle of the Spanish verb tornar,
which means to turn. It also stems from the word tornada, meaning thunderstorm.

The Principle Of Equity Within The World Of Doctrine, Not...
Equity is a source of law which is based on flexible principles to supplement the common law, and
thereby alleviating the harshness. Lord Scarman once described the principle of equity in National
Westminster Bank PLC v Morgan as a world of doctrine, not of neat and tidy rules which
emphasises its rigidity nature to provide its flexibility. As Alastair Hudson noted , many different
doctrines fit inside English equity which introduce a more systematic approach to the common law.
It is important to examine equity s historical development to recognize the root of how it was
formed and used, and how it still serves a purpose within the modern legal system.
When discussing the history of equity, it is imperative to go back to the 12th century where the
King and his courtiers would travel around the country to settle disputes and collect the citizen s
taxes. During this time, the King s Chancellor would advise the King and his Council on these
matters. Due to this, he became known as the King s conscience. Where the use of the common
law to settle a dispute proved to be unjustified, the Chancellor would provide a just remedy. In this
way, the King s common law became well founded, and the concept of equity was formed.
Common law suits were known to be inflexible, as the common law only provided one type of
remedy, damages, which was not always an adequate solution to every problem . Some litigants
grew dissatisfied with the system and petitioned to the King. However, all of

  • 2. Women in The Duchess of Malfi and The Changeling Essay The Duchess in John Webster s tragic play, The Duchess of Malfi, and Beatrice Joanna in Thomas Middleton and William Rowley s The Changeling, are both strong women living in a male dominated society. The two women attempt to free themselves from this subordination by choosing to love that they desire. Both pay with their lives for this chance at freedom, but differ in their moral decisions about how they attempt it. Beatrice Joanna s plan involves murder, whereas the widowed Duchess merely lives the life she chooses, then plots to leave Malfi. Both women are forced into their actions, but, whereas Beatrice Joanna is Machiavellian in her actions, the Duchess is morally superior. Webster based his play on a real life 16th... It is they who are consumed with aristocratic pride. It is their sibling jealousy and male pride that causes them to kill the Duchess. From the onset of the play the Duchess is described as noble and virtuous. Antonio says: Her days are practiced in such noble virtue That sure her nights nay, more, her very sleeps Are more in heaven than other ladies schrifts (1.1.201). She is sexually confident and outgoing, and views marriage as a positive, loving venture. On the contrary, her brothers see marriage as a prison for women and a playhouse for men. The Cardinal believes The marriage night/Is entrance into some prison (1.1.326), and Ferdinand views it as the males time for sex when he says And those joys,/Those lustful pleasures, are like heavy sleeps/Which do forerun man s mischief (1.1. 328). The Duchess defies society s view of marriage. She marries the second time for love, but only after she has had an active sex life, and three children. Furthermore, it is she who proposes to Antonio, and it is she who puts a ring on his finger. When he kneels before her, she helps him up. Here marriage is not a contract where husband is superior to wife, but rather ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both of them contain various songs and poems, and legitimize the Yamato rulers by using some techniques. The Man yoshu is created with the concept of celebrating the nature, not as transcendent entity and beyond the realms of rulers. However, it is for the world of heaven and composing the land of Yamato and ruled by the first imperial line which is establishing its authority through the realm. • 4. Teacher Student Relationship With Students The Teacher Student Relationship School begins at age five, or for some even before that, and so begins the excruciating routine of waking up at an early hour to be ready to be at a place where you didn t ask to be, to be taught by an older stranger about something you don t understand. However, in the life of a human being this routine that goes on for years is essential to our lives, as well as those older strangers who teach about subjects that you don t understand. Those older strangers have the responsibility to pass on knowledge to their students and the given knowledge, whether taken or not, will determine their future. Is everyone comfortable or willingly to accept the teachings of a total stranger? Of course not, therefore this total stranger has to have an identification to the students, but not necessarily just a name. Teachers must develop a relationship with their students because teacher student relationships affect a student s academic excellence. As a student myself I witness the rebellious outburst of students that will at no end do everything, but be productive in class. What is the root of this refusal towards learning? This resistance to education is a nature acquired from the famous phrase that school is boring or school is hard and those rebellious students disengage themselves from the class and teacher. When a child transitions into being a student there has to be an engagement to pull them into a pleasure or some sort of ambition for learning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Public Housing Policy in Singapore 1INTRODUCTION The Singapore public housing policy since its establishment has proved to provide shelter for the population and has contributed significantly to the economic, social and political development of Singapore. This policy has been the benchmark for the best public housing by other countries notably China and Hong Kong (Yang, 2010; Wong, 2011). The public housing policy implementation has been spearheaded by Housing and Development Board (HDB) to tackle post war economic problems such as rapid population growth, high unemployment rate and a critical shortage of sanitary housing (HDB, 2014). The policy was also aimed to mitigate social problems such as riots and strikes among the different ethnic groups (HDB, 2014). The success story of public housing policy implementation lies in the higher economic growth and social stability of Singapore. Economic growth saw 82% of the population live in 879,000 HDB flats located across 23 towns and estates with home ownership rate at 95% high (Department of Statistics, 2014). In terms of social stability, the policy implementation has freed Singapore from race riot since 1969 (Department of Statistics, 2014). However, rising issues and concerns of ageing population, income disparity and higher housing price have destabilized Singapore s public housing policy (Population White Paper, 2013). In light of these challenges, new measures and directions have to be introduced by the Government to keep public housing policy relevant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He accounts of being beaten and spit on the school grounds on a daily basis, long before Hitler invaded. Bankhalter describes his journey to the ghetto as laced with barbed wire and Nazi mocking Jews cutting off men s beards and beating them as they yelled at the Jews to assemble. • 10. The Turing Test Can a machine made by intelligent minds have an intelligent mind of its own? This was the question that was being asked in the 1950s. A man by the name of Alan Turing decided to venture out and analyze this question for himself by coming up with a thought experiment in which he called the imitation game. This is a game that involves three players. One of each gender and one who plays the judge to determine the gender of players A and B. A s job is to try and trick C the judge into guessing the wrong gender. If C guess incorrectly, then A passes wins the game, or passes the Turing Test. Now, if we were to imagine a machine to replace A s position in the game and now the judge has to figure out who is human and who is machine. If the machine ... For example if we were to turn our attention to the animal kingdom and look at chimpanzees, few people would deny the notion that chimpanzees can think, but chimpanzees can t pass the Turing Test. If we were to look at dogs, we can see that they are intelligent by being emotionally there for their owners and being able to learn a myriad of different tricks, but they can t pass the Turing Test. Using the standards that the Turing Test has laid out for us, this would mean that chimpanzees and dogs aren t intelligent which seems to go against the grain of our common sense. Likewise, a thinking computer could fail the Turing Get as well if the response that were laid out for it were explicitly non human or it was not yet psychologically complex enough. We can now consider the idea that the Turing Test is narrow minded because it only says an object is intelligent if things are able to hold a conversation with a human. There are animals out there who clearly show signs of intelligence, but can not hold a conversation with us, but that does not mean as a majority we consider these animals to not have any signs of ... Guy Montag, fictional character in Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451, is a fireman of a dystopian future where books are illegal and are to be burned, but in this story Guy Montagis the perfect example of change. Some of the things that influenced Montag and changed with him throughout the story being; some of the people he met, his emotions for his strange wife Mildred, and his views on fire and books. Guy Montag didn t seem to know that many people, but the people he did meet changed him quite a lot. That being, when he met Faber at a park one late afternoon, Montag had little clue that Faber would soon help him become what his own job had fought against: a book reader. Clarisse taught Montag, without even meaning to, to slow down and to not live life like all of society had made it to be: fast paced, non caring, and quite dumbed down. My journey during those months was something incredible; that voyage resulted in the most significant learning experience I have encountered. February 14th, 2015, the day of love and romance, yet my day was marked with anger, pain, and grief. Destiny Christian s third consecutive state championship basketball game against Providence Academy in my high school tenure dominated most of my thoughts and time that day, consequently not new to the stage, the environment, or the atmosphere, but oh what a novice I was to the newfound pressure that lay on my weak, narrow shoulders. My first game leading the charge and not humbly bowing down to the heavy barrage of upperclassmen. • 21. Lord Rama And The Epics Of The Ramayana And Bhagavad Gita Dharmic traditions have been influenced greatly by the epics of the Ramayana and the Bhagavad Gita. Both epics involve open dialogue with an avatar of Vishnu and are greatly concerned with the ideals in fulfilling Dharma. In both epics both Lord Ram and Krishna discuss how to be the ideal person. However Lord Ram is more concerned with being the perfect son and husband and Krishnafocuses on the dharmic deeds of a warrior and how to fulfill dharma in order to be liberated. The Bhagavad Gita focuses on a dialogue between Krishna and Prince Arjuna, while the Ramayanais an epic that focuses on a journey fulfilled by lord Ramamaking it more of applicable to all castes and people. The Ramayana focuses more on the need to obey and respect each other and one s rightful duties. These dharmic beliefs focus on relationships. Lord Ram must obey his father, King Dasaratha, in his decision to take away his inheritance of the throne and must respect that decision. Although no one except for the new king, Bharata s, mother wanted him to leave and convinced the King that he must fulfil his oath he made to her many years ago. Most recently things have really started to heat up when Donald Trump got involved. He used profanity to describe the players that kneel and stated that any players that kneel should be fired. There are a lot of people that have this same opinion, but since he is the President, it gets made into a much bigger deal. He is supposed to be the leader of our Nation and it seems like there are bigger issues in the world to worry about. People are furious with him saying this about the NFL players and thinks he should stick to those other issues. He thinks these players are disrespecting the flag and the great people that fought for our nation and wanted to state his opinion on it. Isn t it their civil liberty to decide if they want to stand or not? Also, is this what Colin Kaepernick was going for when he originally took his knee, or is his idea being lost in the mix? With the research that I have done, I have a clearer perspective on Donald Trumps comments, Colin Kaepernick s purpose for kneeling, and even my own opinion on this situation. Abstract Crowdsourcing is the concept of mass collaboration of external outsourced tasks typically from an institution to its community (Howe, 2005). In 1714, the British Government was stuck for a solution to what they called The Longitude Problem which made sailing difficult and deadly (killing 1,000s of seamen every year) (Thomas, 2011). Inaccurate Longitude charts were causing sailors to be lost at sea, and in some cases people starved. Seeking innovation, the British Government offered ВЈ20,000 for people to invent a solution (ВЈ20,000 in 1714 is around $4.7 million dollars in 2010) (Thomas, 2011). Innovative scientists and sailors came together to formulate information that is more accurate. This is possibly the first ever example of crowdsourcing; thus, solving the problems for many sailors. The contest was considered unsolvable by many. John Harrison, the son of a carpenter, won the Longitude contest. The aristocrats were hesitant to award Harrison the prize but eventually paid him the ВЈ20,000 (Thomas, 2011). This example of crowdsourcing is a great one because it highlights one of the principles of crowdsourcing innovation and creativity can come from anywhere (Thomas, 2011). In that, on Pentecost of 1975 at a meeting with its leaders, he defined the Charismatic Renewal as a chance for the Church. Cardinal L.J. Suenens, a protagonist of CCR, recognized it as a current of grace and convinced Pope Paul VIof the need for the Church to accept and encourage the Renewal in order that it should not grow in isolation. In the summer of 1975, some 10,000 Catholic charismatics gathered in the Catacombs of St. Callistus in Rome for the Second International Congress. A special Mass was celebrated with singing in tongues and prophecies at the Papal Altar in St. Peter s Basilica, Rome followed by the historic special audience with Pope Paul VI. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) is much indebted to Saint Pope John Paul II for its growth and acceptance in the Church through the unfailing support it received throughout his Pontificate. At a special audience on 7 May 1981 to the participants of the Fourth International Leaders Conference in Rome, Saint John Paul II said that he made his own the words of St Paul, I give thanks to God every time I think of you (Phil 1:3). • 38. Factors That Affect Water Loss Rates Essay Desiccation It is essential for amphibians to maintain a water balance during terrestrial migratory and dispersal movements (Spotilia Berman 1976). If amphibians become dehydrated, their oxygen consumption and metabolic state becomes at risk (Pough et al. 1983). As with movement rates, water loss rates are species specific. The northern leopard frog has a higher loss rate than the marine toad due to the northern leopard frog s higher diffusion rate of water through their permeably skin (Bentley Yorio 1976). Also, toads typically live a more terrestrial life than most frogs and therefore have developed mechanisms to reduce water losses. Land cover type and associated micro environments play a big role in the water losses as amphibians move through terrestrial landscapes. Vegetation can influence soil moisture, humidity, shading, wind speeds, litter cover and other factors that influence water loss rates at the micro environment scale. Amphibians have developed both behavioral and physiological means of reducing water losses in terrestrial environments. When anurans need moisture they will go into a water conserving position where they crouch down to the ground so their stomach and feet are in contact with a moist area (Pough et al 1983). A common method for anurans to conserve water and stay out of the hot sun is to burrow under leaf litter (Dole 1965). Palmer (2004), on the other hand, explains ethics using the wilderness and social headliners to illustrate the current divide that exists. Finally, Borgmann (2006) uses a political description of compromises for infrastructure that shapes the ethical views of the society such as the Interstate Highway System that influenced future choices that now have consequences that need to be managed. While the analogies are different, the root descriptions encompass a basic principle that the conduct of an individual will determine the true ethical character of that person, but the individual requires the support and direction from the society to truly influence a positive ethical change. The expanse of that society is where the authors begin to divide with Bonhoeffer s (1995) intended audience being countries based on Christian beliefs of the west, Borgmann (2006) concentrating on the United States, and Palmer (2004) focusing on the individual within a specified community that feeds to larger communities. Each author describes in various methods how the actions of individuals will determine the nature of the ethics they possess, but that the individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Why Is Nuclear Power Bad Nuclear power: good or bad? Nuclear energy to create power has been used for hundreds of years. Today nuclear energy powers almost 11% of the world. It produces nearly no greenhouse gases or co2 emissions. But it does leave behind nuclear waste that stays radioactive for decades. Nuclear energy has been used for many years, but there are goods and bads to Nuclear powerfrom nuclear energy. Nuclear Energy has a long history of Grief. Since 1942, Nuclear Energy has grown and spread worldwide. The history of Nuclear Energy begins in 1942 when enrico Fermi created the first nuclear reactor, the Chicago Pile 1. Enrico left Italy to escape new Italian racial laws. He created this reactor by fission. Which is also used as the fuel to the atomic bomb, which came 3 years after at the trinity test ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fission can be controlled easier, that is why it is used the most. fission occurs by splitting an atom, instead of putting two molecules by force at high speeds, and changing the atomic number of the molecule. Fusion needs some requirements to occur, it needs high pressure and high temperature, and at extreme levels to combine the Molecule. If this is tried, and is done wrong, the damage could be devastating and even nuclear. This is a good source of power and has been used for many years. Usually when they malfunction they are treated and nothing bad happens, but if not treated, it could cause a nuclear meltdown, like what happened at 3 mile island on March 28th, 1979, and that s not good. Nuclear Energy has many supporters around the world. The benefit of Nuclear Energy are clear to many. People who are for Nuclear Energy, support it for many reasons. The outcome of produced power can be changed, all you do is change the fuel entering the chain reactor (Page 11). One main factor that puts nuclear energy on top is it lets out little air pollutants, greenhouse gases, smog, slows global warming, and helps limit acid rain (Sally ... In the following example if the code is run with read and write permissions the attacker could potentially delete all that data in the database. ; DROP TABLE users; # But by having the database be read only for the executing script we can able to make any changes to the database so drop table users command would have no effect on the database as a whole. 4.Configure Error Reporting: When attempting to attack a server, attacker tries to get any information possible which hook on unauthorized access to the server. If an attacker can cause a script to crash to split out any error messages, it helps to figure out the system s potential vulnerabilities. However, if all the error messages are written internally it doesn t get any feedback about what s going on in the application making it much more challenging to find a security vulnerability. 5. After weeks of discussing and analyzing material that dealt with the hardships that minorities such as APA individuals faced, I can conclude that this ethnic group underwent experiences that were not too uncommon from that of Latinos and African Americans. Since population in California today, consist of an average of 60% Asians and Latinos as stated in the book, Learning English/Learning America by Juana Mora, Gina Masequesmay, Eunai Shrake, and Ana S. Munoz, it is safe to say that students in classrooms nowadays are mainly those within these ethnic groups (Mora, Masequesmay, Shrake, and Munoz, ix). I will be focusing on three of the many stories APA and Latino students have to share in this book, that I felt related to me most as I also, am a second generation student. Ideally, immigration to America has been noted as a step in the right direction for several years. The concept of the American Dream has been one of the main reasons behind immigrants choosing to leave their hometown and in other cases, changes in government and enslavement has led immigrants to the States. It is no wonder why they fight through battles most would have never known existed. Asian AmericanThuy Lee, is daughter to immigrant parents who escaped Vietnam during the communist takeover. • 47. The Principle Of Equity Within The World Of Doctrine, Not... Equity is a source of law which is based on flexible principles to supplement the common law, and thereby alleviating the harshness. Lord Scarman once described the principle of equity in National Westminster Bank PLC v Morgan as a world of doctrine, not of neat and tidy rules which emphasises its rigidity nature to provide its flexibility. As Alastair Hudson noted , many different doctrines fit inside English equity which introduce a more systematic approach to the common law. It is important to examine equity s historical development to recognize the root of how it was formed and used, and how it still serves a purpose within the modern legal system. When discussing the history of equity, it is imperative to go back to the 12th century where the King and his courtiers would travel around the country to settle disputes and collect the citizen s taxes. During this time, the King s Chancellor would advise the King and his Council on these matters. Due to this, he became known as the King s conscience. Where the use of the common law to settle a dispute proved to be unjustified, the Chancellor would provide a just remedy. In this way, the King s common law became well founded, and the concept of equity was formed. Common law suits were known to be inflexible, as the common law only provided one type of remedy, damages, which was not always an adequate solution to every problem . Some litigants grew dissatisfied with the system and petitioned to the King. However, all of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
