Mobile First Approach - The key to cross platform interface designVivek Parihar
Mobile first design has been taking centrestage in the consumer internet media stage. This makes it extremely important for the Design/development community to understand the intricacies, pitfalls and the right practices about it.
From my own experiments, I have elicited few interesting protcols and practices for the same. The presentation aims to share the results of the successful experiments and open up discussion on what the best way forward can be.

Mobile app development is the act or process by which a mobile app is developed for mobile devices, such as personal digital assistants, enterprise digital assistants or mobile phones
Do the acronyms: 3G, 4G, NFC, LBS, QR, AR, GPS sound like a foreign language? Do you wonder how these technologies relate to professional meeting planners? It is estimated that two thirds of the world's population have a mobile phone.
The growth of smartphones is unprecedented. Smartphone usage amongst meeting and conference attendees is generally higher than the other users. Alongside the increasing useage of smartphones comes the unprescedented growth of mobile apps. Attendees are increasingly expecting mobile apps at all meetings they attend. Learn how mobile apps can:
- Improves attendee engagement
- Increase attendance
- Facilitate surveying and polling
- Help onsite management

We'll share the ten essential considerations that any brand or publisher needs to address when launching an app, and give an up-to-date viewpoint on the challenges and rewards of the app business.

App marketing is crucial since it will help you increase your app visibility and improves downloads. Thus, avoid these 5 marketing pitfalls - mobisoftinfotech.com
We all are aware that without marketing no product can sustain the tough competitive market, unless you have an exceptional product that doesn’t require marketing, which is quite rare. Even big brands can’t escape the necessity of marketing.
App stores, in such a short time, have grown beyond imagination. Today, there are more than 1.6 millions of apps, which mean you need to have a strong app marketing strategy to ensure that you app gets desired visibility in app stores

How Mobile Apps Can Be Used For Sales And BrandingVincent Teo
This is a presentation I gave at eTail Asia 2013 in Singapore that highlights the opportunities for brands to leverage on mobile devices and apps to drive sales and branding. There are interesting statistics that show how consumer behavior has shifted with mobile devices and insights from a survey I did on what makes a great mobile app. It also details three key rules when it comes to making mobile apps and some brand examples of great apps.
App market has gone tremendously in the recent past. This young market has flourished beyond imagination and is expanding at a much faster rate. In such a market, it is necessary that you have right marketing strategy in whose absence sustaining would be close to impossible.
This is why today every app owner demands a well experienced app marketing expert who could help them market their app on different app stores. Though, one rely completely on the app marketing expert, there are certain pointers that can be missed easily.
For instance, content. For an app owner, content may not play vital role in app marketing whereas it could be used wisely to generate traffic and make your app visible on app stores. One can write blogs, publish social media posts, and can use App Store Optimization technique to get the attention of their potential users.
Likewise, the loading speed of your app would play a vital role in helping you get desired attention. You need to ensure that your app should load fast, within seconds; otherwise your potential users won’t show any interest on your app, and thus the chances of moving out of the app store increases. So, if you want to stay up in the market, avoiding these app marketing pitfalls are important

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Editor's Notes
tes
We are going to talk about Key Strategies, that if you have it in your app, your app will be instantly a better, more marketable product.
So what are the few key strategies?
First strategy, is that if you can make your application focus on a specific group of people, your app will instantly find it’s niche market. So ask : …If you can answer these questions, you can design an application that will capture this market. In my presentation, I will use some successful applications to illustrate my points.
The first example is the Nike Running App! This application focuses on an Activity - Which is Running. It features revolves around making Running a better experience. It uses the GPS to track your speed and pace. Plays music ….. Currently it is the most popular app for Runners!
Your app also can target an user group. For instance, MomsApp targets Expecting Mothers. This apps has many focused tools for mom= and expecting mothers, such as: ….
Look a for problem or an inconvinience and turn it around. For instance Making files available for multi device has never been easy. Dropbox indentify the need and focused on making it easy.
The next strategy, is a question you will need to ask… If your app only does one thing or one objective, what will it be? Focus on that one thing, and do it really well. Say you are designing an application that will do Palm Reading. Focus on the subject and make sure it is better that the rest or do something that is different. For instance make it easier for a common person to read a palm by using image recognition? Or make it more accurate by combining multiple database of Palm Reading Answers. Do it right!
For an example, I’ve chose The Evernote App. This app focuses on the subject of taking notes. First, it made itself multi-platform so that your notes can be sync among your devices. Then it expands its capability around notes taking such as embedding photos, audios, maps and even created a text recognition feature to read name cards. Now, it is one of the most powerful, most popular Note-taking-app!
