The Sufi Order is most prevalent in the Middle East in general but specially in Iran,
Iraq, Turkey and India. Sufism is a mystical religion based on fundamentals of Islam
promoting the most simple and direct connection between human beings and God.
An accomplished member of the Order who has completed his training is called a
Dervish. The Dervish traveled across villages, towns and sometimes countries,
(usually by foot) spreading the teachings of Sufism. Even today, it is not
uncommon to encounter a traveling Dervish when one visits the countries in the
middle east. They spread the message of love and mercy, helping the needy and
poor people. The Dervish have no earthly possessions other than the clothes on their

Descartes on the Mind Body Distinction In the Sixth Mediation, Descartes advances
a compact argument for the idea that the mind and the body are distinct (2006, AT
78). In this essay, I m going to present what I take Descartes argument to be, and very
briefly evaluate it afterwards.

can understand something in a specific manner: clearly and distinctly; we can t be
wrong, according to Descartes, about things we understand clearly and distinctly

On the one hand, the body is supposed to be a sort of thing that has extensions: it
has shapes, it has size, it occupies certain spatial position, and it can be in rest or in
motion (AT 43, 78). On the other hand, from previous meditations, Descartes

The purpose of this experiment was to make a breakthrough study of the human
response to imprisonment, in specific, to the real world condition of prison life. In
social psychology, this is known as mundane realism ; which refers to the ability
to imitate the real world as much as possible, which is exactly what this study did.
There were twenty four people who were selected to do this experiment. These
subjects were randomly assigned to play the role as prisoner or guard and they

Advocates for lowering the MLDA to eighteen years of age argue that this change
will eliminate the thrill of breaking the law for young adults entering college and
boost the national economy. Supporters continue to ask legislature what the true
meaning of adulthood is if an eighteen year old can serve in the armed forces and

The Great Depression is a period synonymous with excruciating poverty and
darkness worldwide. It can be said that an undeniable impact was felt upon all of
the world s nations although it can also be said that not all countries were affected
negatively. At the time, the majority of the powers of the world were for the most
part all very much entwined both politically and economically. Thus, the research
