5 Paragraph Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "5 Paragraph Essays" can be both challenging and enlightening.
On one hand, the structured format of a five-paragraph essay might seem restrictive, leaving
little room for creativity and exploration. It requires a concise and organized approach, where
each paragraph serves a specific purpose – introduction, three supporting paragraphs, and a
conclusion. Adhering to this rigid structure can be daunting, especially for those who prefer a
more fluid and freeform style of writing.
However, on the flip side, the structured nature of a five-paragraph essay can be a helpful guide
for those who struggle with organization and coherence in their writing. It provides a clear
framework, helping writers to present their ideas in a logical and sequential manner. The
challenge lies in finding a balance between adhering to the prescribed format and injecting one's
unique voice and perspective into the essay.
Choosing compelling and relevant content for each paragraph is another hurdle. Coming up with
three distinct supporting points that contribute to the overall argument or theme requires
thoughtful consideration and research. This process can be time-consuming and demanding,
especially if the topic is unfamiliar or requires extensive exploration.
Ultimately, the difficulty of writing an essay on "5 Paragraph Essays" lies in striking the right
balance between structure and creativity, adhering to the prescribed format while still allowing
for individual expression. It is a task that demands careful planning, effective organization, and a
deep understanding of the chosen topic.
For those who find themselves grappling with such challenges, assistance is available. Similar
essays and a variety of writing services can be accessed on HelpWriting.net, providing a
valuable resource for individuals seeking support in their academic or creative writing endeavors.

Mayans Misunderstood Essay
Mayans: Bloodthirsty Savages or Misunderstood?
Were the Mayans really the savages everyone has made them out to be, or were
they just normal, misunderstood citizens, just trying to make it through another
day. The Mayans are not only one of the most mysterious cultures in history, but
one of the most intelligent early civilizations, discovering things such as the
concept of zero, and how to make accurate 365 day calendars. It is agreed upon that
the people of Maya were way ahead of their time, but how much did they really
know? They settled in Yucatan (now Mexico) between 2600 BC and 1800 BC and
were the indigenous people of Mexico and Central America.
Maya kings were the centers of power for the Maya civilization, and each Maya city
state was controlled by a dynasty of kings. A Maya king was expected to be a
military leader have a great mind to solve city problems like wars or food crises.
Kings also sacrificed their own blood to the gods, the higher kings. When a king
died and left no heir to the throne, there was usually a war to determine the next
ruler. Pakal, also known as Pacal the Great, was one of the main figures responsible
for rebuilding Palenque, and was known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of their gods represented a form in nature, for example the Sun God (Kinih
Ahous). They worshiped these gods everyday and religion was at the center of
everything they did. They believed their ancestors lived in a small piece of
heaven, and kept a watchful eye on their relatives on earth. The Maya also believed
in an underworld, which to them was a horrible place filled with demons. If the
Mayans did not worship the right way, these demons would be released onto earth
and attack them, or so they believed. No Mayan woman would ever look in a
mirror, for it was believed that the demons from the underworld could reach through
the mirror and yank you into the underworld. Men, however, would look into mirrors

How Does Sylvia Plath Use Humor
Death is Funny: Sylvia Plath s Use of Humor in Lady Lazarus Humor and Sylvia
Plath are words not generally heard in the same sentence. Although her poetry is
widely read, we as a society tend to associate her writing with the inherent darkness
in her words, and we tend to ignore everything else, particularly with regards to the
poetryshe wrote near the end of her life. The morbidity in her writing is most
definitely there, but it is often expressed using humor. I will be examining Plath s
poem Lady Lazarus, and in particular the way that Plath uses humor throughout the
poem through her use of sarcasm, hyperbole and absurd comparisons, rhyme, and
circus imagery. I will also be looking at the possible reasons why Plath uses humor
throughout Lady Lazarus, and what purpose it serves as a literary device. Plath s
strong use of sarcasm is present in Lady Lazarus from the very first lines of the
poem; Plath writes: I have done it again/One year in every ten/I manage it (Plath, 1
3). This opening stanzais very tongue in cheek, and through the seemingly
nondescript, nonchalant way she begins the poem, it sets up the first stanza as a
foil for the next stanza, which begins: A sort of walking miracle, my skin/Bright as
a Nazi lampshade, (4 5). The contrast between the content of the first and second
stanzas gives the first stanza a very sarcastic tone. It sets up the concept that death is
no big deal to Plath; she s died every ten years. The opening line, I have done
Invasive Techniques For Robotic Surgery
INTRODUCTION
Robotic surgery is increasingly being implemented to overcome drawbacks
associated with the use of conventional techniques such as laparoscopy, especially in
complex procedures. However, despite holding significant promise, robotic surgery is
associated with some clear disadvantages and robust evidence base supporting robotic
assistance remains lacking[1].
The introduction of minimally invasive techniques to general surgery has been
described as the most dramatic change in surgery since the introduction of
anaesthesia [2]. This has led to many procedures being performed exclusively via the
laparoscopic approach, such as a cholecystectomy. Reasons include reduced blood
loss and post operative pain, reduced risk of infection, reduced length of hospital stay
and faster return to daily activities[3]. However, these superior results are only when
the initial learning curve has been taken into account.
Laparoscopic surgery is associated with several challenges. Disadvantages and
complications have been well documented[4]. Long, rigid instruments amplify
tremor, reduce range of motion and degrees of freedom. This is exacerbated by the
fulcrum effect whereby instrument tips move in a direction opposite to those of
surgeon s hands[5]. Loss of 3 dimentional (3D) vision and having to view a 2
dimentional image, not directly under the control of surgeon, enhances these
difficulties by leading to loss of traditional eye hand target axis[6]. The laparoscopic
technique is
Kintoscope Research Paper
What did you do this morning? Turn on the lights in your living room? Watched the
morning news? Listen to your music on the way to school? These trivial activities
were once non existent and were brought into being by one man Thomas Alva
Edison. His inventions the kinetoscope (used to watch a series of photographs),
phonograph (sound recorder), and electric light bulb paved the way for today s
lifestyle. The kinetoscope was the beginning of modern television, although it did
not contain sound, it showed what was to come. The kinetoscope was a simple
camera the was designed to take a series of photographs that, when watched quickly,
made the people in the photos seem to move. His first filmusing the kinetograph, Fred
Ott s Sneeze, was a short film portraying a man sneezing (Everyday Life: Inventions
66). The kinetoscope led people pursuing ways to entertain themselves, which made
the motion picture industry possible. This invention helped to develop and improve
today s lifestyle through the development of the motion picture industry. The
phonograph gave sound to Edison s earlier invention, the kinetoscope. The
phonograph was a hand cranked machine that played back sounds by reading the
music with the aid of a needle. These sounds were then heard through the large horn
shaped megaphone. Edison combined his new... Show more content on

The electric light bulb has since changed the way people from around the world view
the need for comfort. This invention gave rise to new opportunities for comfort within
the home and office. For example, the wiring used to illuminate the bulb aided future
appliances that would need electricity (such as the refrigerator and climate control).
The inventions that followed the electric light bulb have made living conditions more

Stratified Sampling Definition
This method would be more appropriate than stratified sampling, as I want each
group to be the same, regardless of where they are from. Stratified sampling would
allow me to represent groups based on male female ratios per town or city, but since
each group is going to be assigned an equal number of participants, cluster samplingis
the better option. From this point I will use a two step version of systematic
sampling. First, I will break up the groups into male and female categories, and then
use systematic sampling within these divisions to choose which participants to study.
Considering that this experiment does not entail administration of medication or
other physical items, I could stop after breaking up the population into clusters, but
for the sake or narrowing down my participatory groups as well as cost savings, it
makes sense to further narrow down prospective... Show more content on

Sampling will be relatively easy, by selecting male and female groups from within
groups of college educated individuals, and the budget will be compromised almost
entirely by paying the researchers and possibly compensation for the participants,
so it is a low cost project as well. Literature has documented the difference between
men and women in the job market, so it would be interesting as well as informative
to create my own research study to better understand such a phenomenon. Following
this study, it would be interesting to follow up on my findings, to further understand
exactly where the differences lie; is it a socially drawn difference, a biological
difference, or another option? The first step is, of course, to understand as best we
can that there is a difference before we can make these next attempts at furthering our
knowledge, and this study should be able to provide just the foundation that we
The Pros And Cons Of Commodification In Football
Football, America s sport, which is loved from high school all the way to
professional level of the game, has evolved significantly over the years to becoming
as big of an entertainment spectacle as it has as well as becoming increasingly
competitive over the years that it has been in session. With the very first football game
being played between Rutgers and Princeton to Peyton Manning making a
touchdown pass that was recognized by the World Record Association in the game
against the 49ers, a spectator can tell the difference between not only skill and the
technical aspects of the game, but between the love for the game itself. It has created
a very huge fan base that has in turn, created many rivalries amongst the fans on
which of the teams... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has had a lot of positive effects on how it has evolved throughout the years. It has
created a lot of job opportunities for many people, as well as given chances to
people to be remotely involved and engaged with fantasy football. However, along
with these pros comes a few cons. Even though fantasy football has its positives to
it, it also has its negatives. When people get too into it, they start betting on it and
start to not care about the players that are involved. This leads to the next point that
players have started to form a mentality of no pain, no gain . They play through
pain and injuries, whether it be for fans wanting their favorite teams and players to
do well or that their love of the game has gone too far to a point that they do not
care how bad their damaging their bodies. The commodification overall has had a
good impact with some downsides to it. Another downside would be that some fans
do not even notice that these players are getting hurt and some do not even care just
as long as the game remains the entertaining Sunday tradition that they have taken
part in since they were
Social Psychology Theories About Attitude Development
And...
This analytical paper is created in hopes of generating a deeper understanding of
attitudes and social psychology and their importance to the social world for all
individuals. This should be accomplished through evaluating and addressing how
attitudes develop through the social learning theory and behaviorism; how attitudes
change by implementing persuasion, cognitive dissonance, and emotion.
Additionally, analyzing what approaches and programs are effective and ineffective
in a couple of case studies such as source credibility and mere exposure; and then
further analyzing persuasion and attitude change by viewing two persuasive articles
and applying and analyzing the approaches on fear appeals, source credibility, and
attractiveness by responding to the following questions:
What are the prominent social psychology theories about attitude development and
attitude change? Considering the research findings, what types of approaches or
programs are effective in either creating new attitudes or changing existing attitudes?
And, for whom do these programs work? (Provide two real world examples of
approaches, one with evidence that it is effective and the other with evidence of
ineffectiveness.) Find and present 2 examples (print, video, TV reports, fictional
portrayals, etc.) that you find highly persuasive and explain how and why they are
effective.
Social Psychology Social Psychology is demarcated as a branch of psychology that

Packington Working Conditions
Along with the other hundreds of thousands workers in Packington, I experience
the gruesome working conditions first hand. When I first arrived in Chicago with
my extended family, I acquired the labor of painting advertisements on cans of
meat, which was a job that paid me well. Most aspects in my life were going
favorably well until the painting factory I worked for pressured their workers to
paint cans quickly causing such an extraordinary amount of cans, the factory
temporarily shut down. Once the supply of cans were running low, the factory
reopened, but my wages were noticeably lower. Because I am invictus, I protested
that I was being cheated out of a portion of my wages, which only led to me being
fired. After a miserable month of being jobless and searching for anyway I could...

If we try to change our working futures as individuals, we will never have the best
lives we are capable of having, but if we unite as a union to stand up for what we
believe in, we can successfully, positively define our futures. Without the union, the
working citizens will always be treated like animals, but with the union, workers
can one day be treated appropriately. One way in which the union will improve
workers lives is by giving benefits, which means a worker take a day off of work
without getting fired. This also means if someone happened to get hurt on the job,
they could take as much time off as they needed, without their position being
replaced. Furthermore, the union will secure workers with less working hours, so
they have more time to spend with family and doing personal interests. Along with
these examples of what the union will do, it will provide numerous other benefits not
mentioned. Together, if we unite as one, we can create a higher quality and optimistic
working future through the
Nicolaus Copernicus Accomplishments
So far as hypotheses are concerned, let no one expect anything certain from
astronomy, which cannot furnish it, lest he accept as the truth ideas conceived for
another purpose, and depart from this study a greater fool than when he entered it.
this quote is from Nicolaus Copernicus, the famous astronomer who discovered
something remarkable. Copernicus was a part of the German heritage, but at the
time, the city of Torun where he was born was a part of Poland so some believed he
spoke some Polish as well. The remarkable discovery in which he found, was the
heliocentric universe, meaning the Sunwas the center of the universe not the Earth.
Without him creating this theory and then later on proving it, even though the
Catholic Church did... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important factor that comes into play is the studies of further scientists,
such as Galileo Galilei, he was inspired by Copernicus and then fully proved his
theory with even more information and evidence, but once again the Catholic
Church did not allow him to publish his work, even though he was right, so he was
under house arrest for the rest of his life. Copernicus played another huge roll by
some of his other theories such as, passages in the Bible imply that the earth does not
move, the apparent annual cycle of movements of the sun is caused by the earth
orbiting it. which completely contradicts the Bible, he was right though with each
and every theory, however none of them could be published until later on because all
of his theories went completely against the Bible, the Church at this time would never
allow someone to publish work with clear and hard evidence against them. Now yes
humans probably would have discovered the heliocentric universe, but the amount of
time that would have taken would have been way longer, and somewhat harder if
other early scientists never discovered it. Without him creating this theory and then
having his publications help inspire others to study astronomy and prove the theory
even more, humans would not have been able to find the right pathways to shoot
probes and other space shuttles to different planets to study them, especially sending
people to the moon would have been extremely dangerous if Copernicus never
actually found the right solar system, the rocket might have been going the complete
opposite of where the moon actually

Anyone who have passion to build things are all makers. There is no group or
category of people who went school or something but it s all of us who have passion
to build something cool. Maker came from many background but they all have same
way of thinking to build the cool stuffs which can help themselves and the world. It s
the community where anyone with limit knowledge can access and share their idea
and passion with other.
All maker is curious to see stuffs or want to know how the stuffs works. Since the
cost and internet help makers to build the things that they like to build which will
make everyone better off. The YouTube video post by the MIT Mechanical

In the 21st century many of us want to be maker and want to build the product
which can help other and self. As we all know that Science, technology, engineering
and math are the great field to be on to build something that we like to. This field
will give the in depth knowledge to anyone to create the things which can help
Something s Got Ta Give
Something s Gotta Give Research Essay Something s Gotta Give is an award
winning movie written by Nancy Meyers. This romantic drama is greatly known for
its middle aged comedic relief because it highlights the sexual encounters between an
old bachelor and a cougar of a woman. The reviews written by Roger Ebert, A.O.
Scott and Christopher Orr are about the movie Something s Gotta Give which will
include an opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of how each review is written.
Roger Ebert s 2003 movie review of Something Gotta Give was more informational
than it was a review. Ebert used a tone in his writing that would lead readers to
believe more details are needed about the characters and set to understand and form
an opinion. Ebert made sure readers were aware of the award winning cast featuring
Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves, Amanda Pete and Frances
McDormand. Ebert observed while watching this film that he himself was moved by
the characters. Toward the end of his informational bit Ebert makes an observation
that there is a sexual mystery surrounding the situation between Erica played by
Diane Keaton, Dr. Mercer played by Keanu Reeves and the notorious Harry played by
Jack Nicholson. With plenty of nudity to go around Ebert suggests Nicholson might
have contributed to the screenplay.
A review written for the New York Times by A.O. Scott in 2003 about the movie
Something s Gotta Give was described as a weep, and the world laughs hysterically

Now, they must look and prepare for situations never previously considered. Mass
shootings, chemical and nuclear attacks, and suicide bombers are just a few of the
possibilities. The reality is that today there are many dangers that have not been

2. Situational Assessment. Once the Incident Commander arrives on the scene, s

Monolithic or one level Markov chain model is representative of the state of the art
in cloud stochastic modeling. The development of the state space as the model

Markov models [2]. Stochastic petri nets (SPNs) can be used to the largeness of

to the large models is an issue. 1.3Statement of Problem: In cloud, when a request

request specific CPU, RAM, and disk capacity. VMs are employed on physical
machines (PMs) each of which may be shared by multiple VMs. To minimize
overall VM provisioning delays and operational costs, we assume that the PMs are
grouped into three pools; hot (running), warm (turned on, but not ready) and cold
(turned off). Maintaining the PMs in three pools (in general, multiple tiered pools)
helps to minimize power and cooling costs without incurring high startup delays for
all VMs. A pre instantiated VM can be readily provisioned and brought to ready state
on a running PM (hot PM) with minimum provisioning delay. Instantiating a VM

Pulmonary Valve Syndrome Research Paper
Pulmonary Valve Stenosis, Pediatric
Pulmonary valve stenosis is a heart problem some children are born with
(congenital heart defect). This defect is a stiffening or narrowing (stenosis) of a one
way valve in the heart. It is the valve that allows blood to flow from the pumping
chamber on the right side of the heart (right ventricle) into the blood vessel that
carries blood to the lungs. If not enough blood is flowing through the valve, not
enough oxygen will get into your child s blood. The child s heart will also be forced
to work harder.
Pulmonary valve stenosis develops during the first 8 weeks as a child is growing
inside the womb. It sometimes develops with other types of heart abnormalities.

The Murder Case Of Stanford White
In the early 1900s, the murder case of Stanford White would shock the world and
would soon be named the crime of the Century. Stanford White was an up and
coming architect during the late 1800 s, he was especially gaining fame in New York
City after forming the Mckee, Mead and White company with other architects. One of
his many accomplishments was the building of the Madison Square GardenTower in
1890. Meanwhile in Philadelphia, 14 year old Florence (a.k.a. Evelyn) Nesbit was
gaining fame as a model after beginning discovered by a local artist. This led her to
gain connections to huge modeling companies, all wanting her to pose for them.

In 1902, Evelyn was introduced to illustrator John Barrymore. They had a
blossoming romance that was soon shut down by White and Mrs. Nesbit.
Barrymore had even proposed to Evelyn but she rejected him due to his low salary.
After her small relationship with John Barrymore, she met the rich railroad man
known as Harry Thaw. Thaw and White were already rivals so as a way to get back
at White he began to pursuing Evelyn by showering her with gifts and money. He
proposed to Evelyn multiple times but was rejected because she had been warned
by Stanford, of Thaw s mental conditions and of his drug abuse. Another factor
causing her to neglect his proposals was she wouldn t marry him without
confessing her past affair. After Evelyn recovered from a surgery that some
believed as an abortion surgery in 1902, Harry invited Mrs. Nesbit and Evelyn on
a trip across Europe. Halfway through the trip, Mrs. Nesbit returns back to the
U.S., leaving Harry and Evelyn alone in Europe. Harry once again continues to
propose to Evelyn but becomes an frusturated as he is rejected once again. When
she finally confesses her past sexual affair with White, he blames Mrs. Nesbit for
not taking good care of her daughter. While they stayed at a castle in Austria, Harry
would physically abuse Evelyn and then apologize right after. When rumors spread
that Evelyn and Harry got married in Europe, Thaw s family was furious at the news
and called Harry to return

Based on the information gathered from the City Data website, the average home

is $151,500 according to the 2014 Census estimates. As noted in earlier statistics,
North Florence is a poor area where the majority of households have a low
socioeconomic status. The lack of job opportunities in North Florence, a slow
housing market in the area are the causes of poverty in the community and creates a
disadvantage for some of our students. I have spoken with the principal, Sharon
Dixon, on numerous occasions about the effects of this on our students. Many of the
students come to the school with a lower vocabulary than students from wealthier
parts of Florence. Much of that has to do with the lack of education of the parents.
Many hold high school diplomas, but only a few of our parents hold college
degrees. The education level of the parent is a factor in the preparation of children
for school. A lot of the families also receive government assistance and do not have
access to technology or extra learning opportunities. Many parents work multiple
jobs or shift jobs and do not always have the time to help their students academically.
This puts the children behind before they even begin. North Vista has some of the
lowest test scores in the district, but the principal has been working closely with
Fast Food Dangers
Dangers Of Fast Food Fast food is delicious, but is it deadly? Over the years the
fast food industry has made larger proportions to meet the growing demand. The
industry thrives off of competition, and is constantly trying to one up each other.
Places like Wendy s, Burger King, McDonald s, and Taco Bell provide large amounts
of food for a bargain. The creation of dollar menus and five dollar meal deals has
influenced more people to dine out. According to University Hospitals, 44% of
Americans eat out at least once a week, every day 34% of children consume fast food,

Women During The Medieval Era Essay
Women withstood a multitude of limitations in the medieval era. Due to the political,
social, and religious restrictions women encountered, historians neglected to realize
that they demonstrated agency. The female experience is something that has been
overlooked until recently. Unfortunately, without the knowledge of how women
found ways to exert their power, we are experiencing a deficit of knowledge in this
period. Through the close examination of the primary sources: The Gospel of Mary,
Dhouda s Liber Manualis, and Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, the creative means of
femaleforce are displayed.
In the Gospel of Mary, circa 120 180 AD, Mary Magdalenedisplays that women
exercised agency by being a vessel of God and finding favor with the Lord.
Beginning in the first paragraph of the work, it states, Andrew and Peter question her
veracity and ask why a woman should become a favorite disciple (The Gospel of
Mary 53). This demonstrates that men did not understand why a woman would be
seen as a greater or more trustworthy being themselves as Christ s inoculator.
However, Mary remains humble, and she uses her agency to teach the men. Mary
shows her willingness to enlighten the men when it is stated, Mary answered,
What s concealed from you I ll tell; I saw him in a vision and I told him (The
Gospel of Mary 57). This demonstrates Mary s power over the males. In this
situation, she holds knowledge that only she can give to them. This allows for her to
become the individual in

The Holocaust in Life is Beautiful and Schindler s List After slavery the second
most controversial damaging system of oppression to a targeted race is the tragic
killing of Jews called the Holocaust .After World War 1 Germany s economy was
shattered due to the Treaty of Versailles where Germany was forced to pay for all
the expenses and damages from the war. Chancellor of Germany and dictator of Nazi

prosperous Germany. He believed that the Jews in Germany were useless, worthless,
and animal like. Adolf Hitler was a key factor and leader of the Holocaust; He led
Germany s military in the Final Project, killing 6 million Jews. Movies like
Schindler s list and Life is Beautiful are based off of the Holocaust. While Life is
Beautiful and Schindler s list both displayed the strife experienced by the Jews,
Life is Beautiful included a fairytale story line for mere entertainment. Both movies
depict the various stages of oppression experienced by the Jews and the
unconscious fall into denial. However the movies differ considering point of view;
Life is Beautiful is seen from the Jews view while Schindler s list is seen from the

Topic:Traditional and Bio Medical Practice: Integrating traditional and modern
systems in the Nigerian health care delivery.
Research Question:
To what extent, if any, has traditional medicine in comparison to Bio Medical
practice, been incorporated to the health care delivery systems in Nigeria and how
much promotion is given to the significance and efficacy of the practice of traditional
medicine in curing same illness?
Abstract:
The practice of traditional medicine among the people of Nigeria in the Western
region of Africa transcends the advent of Bio Medicine and occupies a prominent
position in the delivery of health care. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sustainability of an average family in Nigeria is valued at less than 5 dollars a
day. Notwithstanding the government s preposition on the establishment of a
health care system that is promotive, protective, preventive, restorative and
rehabilitative to every citizen of the country within the available resources so that
individuals and communities are assured of productivity, social well being and
enjoyment of living (F.M.H. 1988), the system, as is currently practiced is very
inadequate in comparison to the Nigerian growing population and slow paced
economic development. According to the health manpower statistics, the ratio of
the registered medical doctors as against the population s need is put at 1:1,100
with modern medical facilities being administered in mega cities and little or none
made available at the rural areas. As a result of lack of supervision or adequate
provision for the essential needs of medical practitioners, doctors often times are
faced with the conscientious decision to commute to the rural areas to administer
Medicare on out of pocket expenses, which after a while becomes impossible to
carry on. Thus the people in the rural area are left in the care of the traditional healer,
who eventually cure their diseases with less charges than the bio medical practice
thereby saving the patients some money. The news of the efficacy of the traditional
medical administration soon spreads to the urban cities and an
Bacon s Rebellion Essay
Previous to the American Revolution, Bacon s Rebellion was one of the largest
revolts in history, and accordingly its consequences include the American Revolution.
It was the war between the English and the Indians, and the civil war between the
colonists of Jamestown and their government. But it was also the fierce struggle
between two powerful leaders with very different beliefs. The African slaves and
white indentured servants joined together to fight side by side against their common
enemies. Sir William Berkeleyarrived in Virginia in 1642 to act as the Colonial
Governor of Virginia. He was the King s envoy in Virginia, though he was a selfish
royalist who believed in himself before the King. He brought together some... Show

Because the low grade tobacco was being overproduced unceasingly, prices
dropped over the years. Tobacco had been the colony s sole way of income for
many years. Berkeley attempted to improve conditions by introducing other
industries and building new towns in several places. Unfortunately, the towns could
not be maintained and other attempts only resulted in dissatisfaction and increased
taxes. Taxes were also increased due to a need for defense against the Dutch and the
Indians. The rising price of English manufactured goods and the increasingly limited
English market created more problems for the Virginians. From the terrifying tales
of Native American attacks, Virginians learned to fear the Native Americans. They
pleaded to the governor for protection from the Native Americans, but Berkeley
refused to listen to their tales of Indians committing murders and thieving. It seemed
to be that the Indians were the ones receiving protection from Berkeley. The
Governor and his grandees were controlling the Indian beaver and otter fur trades,
so he didn t want to lose the profit he was making off of his business of trade with
the Indians. Many white indentured servants were not happy with the Indians who
had ownership rights of land, when they needed to find land to buy when their time
serving was completed. The attack of the Doeg Indians on the plantation of Thomas
Matthews in the summer of 1675 was equivalent to the starting of a forest fire. The

Near Sleepy Hollow is a village called Tarrytown. It was settled many years ago by
people from Holland. The village had a small school. And one teacher, named
Ichabod Crane. Ichabod Crane was a good name for him, because he looked like a tall
bird, a crane. He was tall and thin like a crane. His shoulders were small, joined two
long arms. His head was small, too, and flat on top. He had big ears, large glassy
green eyes and a long nose. One day in autumn Ichabod was asked to come to a big
party at the Van Tassel home. He dressed in his best clothes. A farmer loaned him an

Literary Devices in Animal Farm Essay
Literary devices used in Animal Farm Timothy Quong
What is the definition of a good novel? Opinions on this question may differ, but
there are many things that good novels have in common. Most importantly, the
reader must enjoy the novel. When I use the word enjoy, I don t necessarily mean
that it should make the reader happy or joyful . The novel should give the reader a
valuable or worthwhile experience. Many good novels often address topics that
relate to our own reality. In George Orwell s AnimalFarm, one of the main focuses is
on power and corruption.
Although consisting of only 95 pages, Animal Farm is effective in delivering its
message. Orwell uses a variety of literary devices in Animal Farm that make it a

Since by that that time, the pigs had already become humans. Beasts of England was
abolished by Napoleon after the first executions and replaced by songs about his
own greatness. The gun was also fired on his birthday. In the last chapter, military
style parades were held.
Punishments
Initially, if any animal didn t work hard enough, the leadership would overlook it.
Debates and criticism were welcome and meetings were held every Sunday. Once
Napoleon came to power, Sunday meetings were abolished and anyone who voiced
any opposition was threatened. Anyone who rebelled didn t receive any rations. Later
in the story, the animals that complained or rebelled were executed.
Battles
The rebellion didn t have any bloodshed and no one was seriously injured. The battle
of Cowshed was the first battle where animals died, a sheep and a stable lad were
killed. A few other animals were also wounded, bloody streaks across Snowball s
back. The next battle was even more violent, three sheep, a cow, and two geese were
killed. Almost everyone else was wounded.
Social classes
In the original ideology, all animals were equal. The ideology sought to eliminate
injustice towards all animals. As time passed, the pigs became the rulers. At first, the
pigs became the leaders because they were the most intelligent animals on the farm.
Napoleon and some of the other pigs later used

Income Diversification Essay
2.2.1. Contribution of Income Diversification to Poverty Reduction
The changing socioeconomic, political, environmental and climatic atmosphere in
developing countries across all over the world has continued to exacerbate the living
conditions of most households particularly those living in the rural areas. The
supplementary increase in poverty levels has led residents of these economies to
devise a number of mechanisms to mitigate the negative effects of these changes.
Meanwhile, there has been an increased acknowledgment among researchers
especially in the past one or two decades that Africans diversify their ways of living,
including on farm and off farm activities or market and non market activities, to
mitigate risks inherent in unpredictable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since many rural households derive income from some form of non farm activity,
increasing the profitability and range of such activities would improve their ways of
living security and living conditions (Awoyemi, 2004). However, expansion of these
opportunities related to the asset status and barriers to entry resulting from
inadequate or differential access to markets (Ellis, 2000). It is obvious that rural
economy is not based on agriculture but rather on a diverse means of activities and
enterprises. Much recent thinking on this subject is based on the concept of
livelihood diversification as a survival strategy of rural households in developing
countries (Ellis, 1998). Farming remains important but rural people are looking for
diverse opportunities to increase and stabilize their incomes.
Individuals in developing countries often rely on various sources of monetary
incomes (Leibbrand and Woolard, 2000). Moreover, Glick (1999) states that
monetary earnings are often supplemented through extensive engagement in home
production. The situation is likely to be similar in other countries of sub Saharan
Africa in particularly and in other developing countries in general. This suggests that
studies of labour market participation and labour supply in developing countries
should start from the presumption that multiple job holding is the norm rather than the

Ocular Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis or TB is a widespread, infectious disease caused by different strains of
mycobacteria, usually Mycobacterium tuberculosis (other species: bovis, africanum,
and microt). It normally affects the lungs but can also spread to other parts of the
body. Ocular Tuberculosis refers to the condition when the infection spreads to any
part of the eye (or around the eye); this is a relatively rare occurrence.
Extraocular TB is the infection of the external eye; it is quite rare and relatively easy
to diagnose as biopsies can be done to test for the infection. Intraocular TB, the more
common form of Ocular Tuberculosis is much more difficult to diagnose. Posterior
uveitis or choroiditis, involving the inflammation of the choroid, is the most common
presentation of intraocular Tuberculosis.

Thirdly, a context aware system in health care systems is briefly described in section
1.3, and finally we discussed the adaptive of context aware user interfaces . 1.1
Context Aware framework In mobile environments, An efficient way of improving
the usability of mobile services and applications is to adapt the contents and
presentation of services to the user and his/her current context so that the amount of
user interaction will be minimized when the user has a quick access to the
information or services that the user need in current context of use. Context refers to
the environment in which the Smartphone is present such that the information of
such environment can be used to characterize the situation of an entity. For example,
the group of users is currently with the types of equipment and communications
technology available, and a user s physical location. For example, a mobile user
may wish to deliver an e mail to automatically at the earliest possible opportunity or
to deliver according to a specific situation, removing the need to return periodically
to the personal desk top to check for new mail. As the user moves, a context aware e
mail delivery application needs to know the situation of the user or the surrounding
environment to determine the suitability way for delivering e mail. Another example

using the formula for motivation (V x E = M) which was Value (Value placed on

technique a lot during my first semester at St. Clair County Community College, it
helped me gain the motivation I needed when going completing all of the Math
homework that was assigned and all of the Health quizzes and papers that needed
to be turned in on time. In conclusion, this component also showed how to design a
compelling life plan which was how to set a goal, discover your dream, and also

to visualize your ideal future. All of these techniques have been proven to be very
successful. All of these techniques will be always useful in my college life.

ensuring they are always motivated and have the best working environment. One way
of achieving that is through ensuring that employees have a good organizational

management of the company has put up several organizational compensation and
benefits for their employees.
Compensation and benefits definition Compensation refers to the rewards that an
employee earns from a company in return for the labor services they provide to the
enterprise (Martocchio, 2010). They include direct financial compensation such as
salaries, wages, and bonuses, indirect financial compensation such as retirement
plans, leaves, and education services, and lastly non financial services such as
advancement opportunities and career development (Martocchio, 2010). On the
other hand, benefits refer to the compensations that a company gives to its
employees on an optional basis in addition to their usual salaries. They include
disability income protection (dental, vision, life, and health), sick leave, paid and
non paid vacation, and funding of education among others (Martocchio, 2010). A

Manifesto Of The Communist Party
The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party
, is a pamphlet written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the
goals and objectives of Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories
about the nature of society in relation to the political ideology. The Communist
Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes and specifically
identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marxessentially presents a well
analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the
means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole.
Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes;
classes that will determine the social mobility of each individual living within it.
Within the social hierarchy, there is inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the
others. The Communist Manifesto features The Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians,
and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a common frictional
relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that the
modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle
for the proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism.
The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that
Communism is established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form
Slavery Is An Important Part Of American History
Slavery is an important part of American history regardless of what generation you

can learn from the experiences and the stories slaves like Harriet Jacobs tell in

The incidents that really swayed me where when she found out she was pregnant,
certain the lessons taught by her master, and her trip to Philadelphia. Harriet
Jacobs, or Linda Brent, had a relationship with her master that involved fear and
restraint. Dr. Flint, her master, was very covetous of the young slave girl refusing
to sell her to another master. Although she feared him, she could not escape him
and ultimately she let him take advantage of her. This incident in her life stuck out
to me because it showed how slave families seriously disapprove of intercourse
with their masters despite there being no consent. I had always believed that a
family would understand that because the master had forced his will on you, the
eyes of god would still see you as pure. The reaction by her grandmother to initially
shun her and say, You have disgraced your dead mother seemed very harsh. In my
opinion this incident is important for people to be aware of for the reason that
although you may feel powerless in a situation, you can never let someone impose

When I saw my brothers and mom boarding the plane, it felt to me as if a piece of
my heart was leaving with them, in the same plane. However, in the midst of this
feeling, there was also some comprehension because I knew that there was no other
option to prevent this separation. I saw the three of them walking heading to the
plane with destination to Colorado; far, very far away from me and the rest of my
family. During their walk to the plane, each one of those steps they gave were like
laughs of joy that were leaving out with the rhythm of their steps. So, step after step

southern provinces are Navarra, Alava, Vizcaya, and Guipuzcoa which lie in spain
(Ott 5). During the later half of the nineteenth century the Basque population was
well over 1,000 people but currently consists of 376 people. Most people of this
indigenous group like their forefathers are pastoralist and cultivate small farmlands
scattered across the valley. . Although much of this tribes history is unverified it is

Clint Eastwood s _Letters from Iwo Jima_ Essay
In 2006, a film directed by Clint Eastwood was released in theatres around the
world titled Letters from Iwo Jima. Unlike most war movies that are produced for
the American public, this film entirely captures the World War II battle of Iwo
Jima from the perspective of the enemy. For a rare change, Letters from Iwo Jima
shows the cultural aspect and daily life the Japanese soldiers experienced during the
war. Although the film was given many positive reviews and was noted as one of
the best films of 2006, it still received mixed emotions from both the Japanese and
American public. One of the main ideas of the film focuses on the idea that good and
evil exist on both sides, and that although we share different ideas, thoughts,
traditions,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Japanese soldiers went into battle knowing that they would be killed and they
would not make it off the island. One of the most shameful acts for a Japanese
soldier to do is surrender, and it was very common for the soldiers to commit suicide
before turning themselves in to the enemy. To commit suicide and avoid capture of
the enemy was considered noble and heroic in the Japanese military. In a way, the
soldiers were brainwashed into doing anything for the emperor of Japan and were
told over and over how glorious it is to die on the battlefield for their country. During
the film, one Japanese soldier points out that Japan will win the war due to the fact
that the Americans show too much sympathy and emotion for human life, and do not
have the same desire and will that the Japanese have. One of the main themes
presented in Letters from Iwo Jima is the idea that good and evil always exist on
both sides. Much of the time, war films tend to show favor to one country, leaving
the audience close minded to what happens to the other side. One of the main
characters followed in the film is the Japanese Commander of Iwo Jima, General
Kuribayashi. Unlike any other Japanese Commander, Kuribayashi was very familiar
with the American people and spent a good deal of time visiting the United States
prior to the war. Despite the strict and abusive tactics used by the Japanese Generals
to the lower ranking soldiers, Kuribayashi can best be
Case Study Of Kerosene
Background: Kerosene is one of the most widely used sources of energy in
developing countries. Modes of accidental exposure include inhalation, ingestion and
through skin or eye contact. There have been few cases reported in literature where
kerosene was injected intravenously and subcutaneously with differing outcomes
ranging from mild irritation to serious necrotizing fasciitis. It remains challenging to
predict the outcome of patients who inject kerosene via non venous route as it is
difficult to establish the accuracy of tissue layer affected by the injection
Objective: To establish methods of management available in the rare presentation of
attempted suicide by self injection of kerosene.
Design: An analysis of Case Studies
Setting: Training ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most reported cases are in Arab countries (KSA, Jordan, Iraq) (15 cases) [2 6]. Iraq
is the highest of Arab countries (11 cases) [4]. The difficulty arises in management
as cases are unique to each exposure in terms of dose injected, site of intended
versus actual injection and quantification of the exact dose of exposure. The lethal
dose of kerosene for 70 kg adult is 100 ml [7]. Only 12.9% (4 cases) had reported the
exact dose of kerosene that was used. Routes of kerosene exposure included:
intradermal, subcutaneous and intravenous. Superficial skin contact with kerosene
may cause dryness scaling and dermatitis [8]. Injection of kerosene presents with a
more severe clinical presentation in the form of local unspecified inflammation,
aggregation of neutrophils and soft tissue necrosis. This was demonstrated in two
histopathology specimens of debrided necrotic tissue in two reported cases [2,3].
Intradermal injection has been reported in 32% of cases (10 cases) [4]. All treated
medically as a case of panniculitis and skin ulceration. Patients recovered without
complications except one who has developed injection site fibrosis and contracture in
the wrist and
Breitbart News Analysis
Steve Bannon
Previous Editor of Breitbart News (alt right). Contains Racist, misogynist and
Islamophobic, and homophobic rhetoric
People, especially those affected mentioned above, are not happy with this
appointment feeling the President does not care about them.
Headlines of Breitbart in printed document
Essentially got the President to demote the highest ranking military officer and the
highest ranking intelligence officer so he could have a permanent seat on the council
This is problematic because he really should not be there. Positions , especially
those of the National Security Council belong to qualified people who have the
knowledge and experience to keep Americans safe and have the ability to advise the
president on matters of national ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Steve Bannon is also said to have views of white supremacy and with a cabinet that
seems to be lacking in diversity this overall makes many Americans feel worse
He has also publish very controversial headlines outlining his views on race that make
people very uncomfortable
Reince Priebus
Strong believer of marriage being between one man and one women not exactly the
biggest proponents of gay rights
Didn t exactly take a strong stance against Donald Trump when he talked about
groping women.
Surprising because their was quite a few Republicans who immediately stepped
forward to say the comments that Trump made were not acceptable.
Not supportive of women s reproductive rights
Even when the Muslim Ban is pretty much unconstitutional he still supports it
He also seemed to suggest that more countries could be added to the list to block
Muslims from coming to this country.
He claims this is really good for America but not everyone agrees.
Defends White House Statement on the Holocaust in which had no mention of Jews
Complaining that the Press is constantly trying to de legitimize

Marketing Management
Marketing Environment
The market environment is a marketing term and refers to all of the forces outside of
marketing that affect marketing management s ability to build and maintain
successful relationships with target customers. The market environment consists of
both the macro environment and the microenvironment.
The microenvironment refers to the forces that are close to the company and affect
its ability to serve its customers. It includes the company itself, its suppliers,
marketing intermediaries, customer markets, competitors, and publics.
The macroenvironment refers to all forces that are part of the larger society and ...

For example, financial publics can hinder a company s ability to obtain funds
affecting the level of credit a company has. Media publics include newspapers and
magazines that can publish articles of interest regarding the company and editorials
that may influence customers opinions. Government publics can affect the company
by passing legislation and laws that put restrictions on the company s actions. Citizen
action publics include environmental groups and minority groups and can question
the actions of a company and put them in the public spotlight. Local publics are
neighborhood and community organizations and will also question a company s
impact on the local area and the level of responsibility of their actions. The general
public can greatly affect the company as any change in their attitude, whether
positive or negative, can cause sales to go up or down because the general public is
often the company s customer base. And finally those who are employed within the
company and deal with the organization and construction of the company s product
Macroenvironment
Demography refers to studying human populations in terms of size, density, location,
age, gender, race, and occupation. This is a very important factor to study for
marketers and helps to divide the population into market segments and target markets.
As India is having one billion population and the purchasing power of people and the
number of such people being high than previous years the
Evil In The Hobbit
In the book The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien is an adventurous fantasy where the
characters have many different character traits that could be good or even bad. They
have to use their intelligence instead of physical strength. Thus their intelligence
matters more for their adventure so they can continue and survive the problems they
receive in this adventure. In this book Intelligence, negative, and positive character
traits are essential to their adventure. First the characters in the story have positive
traits. Bilbo has his tookish side, he is related to someone who doesn t have just hobbit
in them. Gandalf is a wizard and he is kind, he took the dwarves to Bilbo and he also
rescued him. It was the wizard s voice that had kept the trolls
Raisin In The Sun Dialectical Journal
In this scene, you could see the frustration on both of their faces. Emily is well
covered up even with a jacket on. Kane s hair was perfectly laid and they still sat at
distance from each other. In the next scene, the conversation is about Bernstein
visiting their son. Emily doesn t like the idea, however, Kane does. Emily is no
longer wearing reveling dresses as we started to see in the third scene, and Kane s
hair is well combed and he is fully dressed in a tux as if he s already ready to go to
work. In the next scene, not much changed; Emily is still covering up, Kane s hair
is perfectly laid and the dialogue is again about Kane. The last scene in this flashback
shows Emily reading Kane s biggest rival newspaper while Kane is reading his...

I think the word rosebuds represents something with a deeper meaning. I don t
think rosebud is something that he lost, or something that he couldn t have as the
journalists were saying. I think rosebud symbolized Charlie s childhood. The
reason why I say that rosebuds represents Charlie s childhood is because Citizen
Kane entire life all started when his mother willingly gave him to the banker for
him to have a better life . If Charlie had stayed with his parents, he would probably
not have died alone. He would probably be a decent human being who has regard
for other people s feelings. He would probably not be rich, but he would probably
be happy. In the end, we really don t know what Charlie meant by rosebud, we can
only assume. The only time we ever saw Charlie in the snow was also the only
time we ever truly saw him happy. Two scenes that support my answer that rosebud
represents Charlie s childhood is the scene when Kane said the word rosebuds for
the first time and the last time. The first time he said that word was when he found
the snow globe for the first time. I think that s because the snow globe reminded
him of the day when he was truly happy his childhood playing in the snow behind
his parent s old cabin. The net time he said the word rosebud when on his dying bed.
That snow globe was the only thing that ever came into

5 Paragraph Essays

  • 1. 5 Paragraph Essays Writing an essay on the topic of "5 Paragraph Essays" can be both challenging and enlightening. On one hand, the structured format of a five-paragraph essay might seem restrictive, leaving little room for creativity and exploration. It requires a concise and organized approach, where each paragraph serves a specific purpose – introduction, three supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. Adhering to this rigid structure can be daunting, especially for those who prefer a more fluid and freeform style of writing. However, on the flip side, the structured nature of a five-paragraph essay can be a helpful guide for those who struggle with organization and coherence in their writing. It provides a clear framework, helping writers to present their ideas in a logical and sequential manner. The challenge lies in finding a balance between adhering to the prescribed format and injecting one's unique voice and perspective into the essay. Choosing compelling and relevant content for each paragraph is another hurdle. Coming up with three distinct supporting points that contribute to the overall argument or theme requires thoughtful consideration and research. This process can be time-consuming and demanding, especially if the topic is unfamiliar or requires extensive exploration. Ultimately, the difficulty of writing an essay on "5 Paragraph Essays" lies in striking the right balance between structure and creativity, adhering to the prescribed format while still allowing for individual expression. It is a task that demands careful planning, effective organization, and a deep understanding of the chosen topic. For those who find themselves grappling with such challenges, assistance is available. Similar essays and a variety of writing services can be accessed on HelpWriting.net, providing a valuable resource for individuals seeking support in their academic or creative writing endeavors. 5 Paragraph Essays 5 Paragraph Essays

Were the Mayans really the savages everyone has made them out to be, or were they just normal, misunderstood citizens, just trying to make it through another day. The Mayans are not only one of the most mysterious cultures in history, but one of the most intelligent early civilizations, discovering things such as the concept of zero, and how to make accurate 365 day calendars. It is agreed upon that the people of Maya were way ahead of their time, but how much did they really know? They settled in Yucatan (now Mexico) between 2600 BC and 1800 BC and were the indigenous people of Mexico and Central America. Maya kings were the centers of power for the Maya civilization, and each Maya city state was controlled by a dynasty of kings. A Maya king was expected to be a military leader have a great mind to solve city problems like wars or food crises. Kings also sacrificed their own blood to the gods, the higher kings. When a king died and left no heir to the throne, there was usually a war to determine the next ruler. Pakal, also known as Pacal the Great, was one of the main figures responsible for rebuilding Palenque, and was known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of their gods represented a form in nature, for example the Sun God (Kinih Ahous). They worshiped these gods everyday and religion was at the center of everything they did. They believed their ancestors lived in a small piece of heaven, and kept a watchful eye on their relatives on earth. The Maya also believed in an underworld, which to them was a horrible place filled with demons. If the Mayans did not worship the right way, these demons would be released onto earth and attack them, or so they believed. No Mayan woman would ever look in a mirror, for it was believed that the demons from the underworld could reach through the mirror and yank you into the underworld. Men, however, would look into mirrors as an act of
  • 3. How Does Sylvia Plath Use Humor Death is Funny: Sylvia Plath s Use of Humor in Lady Lazarus Humor and Sylvia Plath are words not generally heard in the same sentence. Although her poetry is widely read, we as a society tend to associate her writing with the inherent darkness in her words, and we tend to ignore everything else, particularly with regards to the poetryshe wrote near the end of her life. The morbidity in her writing is most definitely there, but it is often expressed using humor. I will be examining Plath s poem Lady Lazarus, and in particular the way that Plath uses humor throughout the poem through her use of sarcasm, hyperbole and absurd comparisons, rhyme, and circus imagery. I will also be looking at the possible reasons why Plath uses humor throughout Lady Lazarus, and what purpose it serves as a literary device. Plath s strong use of sarcasm is present in Lady Lazarus from the very first lines of the poem; Plath writes: I have done it again/One year in every ten/I manage it (Plath, 1 3). This opening stanzais very tongue in cheek, and through the seemingly nondescript, nonchalant way she begins the poem, it sets up the first stanza as a foil for the next stanza, which begins: A sort of walking miracle, my skin/Bright as a Nazi lampshade, (4 5). The contrast between the content of the first and second stanzas gives the first stanza a very sarcastic tone. It sets up the concept that death is no big deal to Plath; she s died every ten years. The opening line, I have done
  • 4. Invasive Techniques For Robotic Surgery INTRODUCTION Robotic surgery is increasingly being implemented to overcome drawbacks associated with the use of conventional techniques such as laparoscopy, especially in complex procedures. However, despite holding significant promise, robotic surgery is associated with some clear disadvantages and robust evidence base supporting robotic assistance remains lacking[1]. The introduction of minimally invasive techniques to general surgery has been described as the most dramatic change in surgery since the introduction of anaesthesia [2]. This has led to many procedures being performed exclusively via the laparoscopic approach, such as a cholecystectomy. Reasons include reduced blood loss and post operative pain, reduced risk of infection, reduced length of hospital stay and faster return to daily activities[3]. However, these superior results are only when the initial learning curve has been taken into account. Laparoscopic surgery is associated with several challenges. Disadvantages and complications have been well documented[4]. Long, rigid instruments amplify tremor, reduce range of motion and degrees of freedom. This is exacerbated by the fulcrum effect whereby instrument tips move in a direction opposite to those of surgeon s hands[5]. Loss of 3 dimentional (3D) vision and having to view a 2 dimentional image, not directly under the control of surgeon, enhances these difficulties by leading to loss of traditional eye hand target axis[6]. The laparoscopic technique is

These trivial activities were once non existent and were brought into being by one man Thomas Alva Edison. His inventions the kinetoscope (used to watch a series of photographs), phonograph (sound recorder), and electric light bulb paved the way for today s lifestyle. The kinetoscope was the beginning of modern television, although it did not contain sound, it showed what was to come. The kinetoscope was a simple camera the was designed to take a series of photographs that, when watched quickly, made the people in the photos seem to move. His first filmusing the kinetograph, Fred Ott s Sneeze, was a short film portraying a man sneezing (Everyday Life: Inventions 66). The kinetoscope led people pursuing ways to entertain themselves, which made the motion picture industry possible. This invention helped to develop and improve today s lifestyle through the development of the motion picture industry. The phonograph gave sound to Edison s earlier invention, the kinetoscope. The phonograph was a hand cranked machine that played back sounds by reading the music with the aid of a needle. These sounds were then heard through the large horn shaped megaphone. • 6. Stratified Sampling Definition This method would be more appropriate than stratified sampling, as I want each group to be the same, regardless of where they are from. Stratified sampling would allow me to represent groups based on male female ratios per town or city, but since each group is going to be assigned an equal number of participants, cluster samplingis the better option. From this point I will use a two step version of systematic sampling. First, I will break up the groups into male and female categories, and then use systematic sampling within these divisions to choose which participants to study. Considering that this experiment does not entail administration of medication or other physical items, I could stop after breaking up the population into clusters, but for the sake or narrowing down my participatory groups as well as cost savings, it makes sense to further narrow down prospective... The Pros And Cons Of Commodification In Football Football, America s sport, which is loved from high school all the way to professional level of the game, has evolved significantly over the years to becoming as big of an entertainment spectacle as it has as well as becoming increasingly competitive over the years that it has been in session. With the very first football game being played between Rutgers and Princeton to Peyton Manning making a touchdown pass that was recognized by the World Record Association in the game against the 49ers, a spectator can tell the difference between not only skill and the technical aspects of the game, but between the love for the game itself. Copernicus was a part of the German heritage, but at the time, the city of Torun where he was born was a part of Poland so some believed he spoke some Polish as well. Another important factor that comes into play is the studies of further scientists, such as Galileo Galilei, he was inspired by Copernicus and then fully proved his theory with even more information and evidence, but once again the Catholic Church did not allow him to publish his work, even though he was right, so he was under house arrest for the rest of his life. Copernicus played another huge roll by some of his other theories such as, passages in the Bible imply that the earth does not move, the apparent annual cycle of movements of the sun is caused by the earth orbiting it. which completely contradicts the Bible, he was right though with each and every theory, however none of them could be published until later on because all of his theories went completely against the Bible, the Church at this time would never allow someone to publish work with clear and hard evidence against them. Now yes humans probably would have discovered the heliocentric universe, but the amount of time that would have taken would have been way longer, and somewhat harder if other early scientists never discovered it. Without him creating this theory and then having his publications help inspire others to study astronomy and prove the theory even more, humans would not have been able to find the right pathways to shoot probes and other space shuttles to different planets to study them, especially sending people to the moon would have been extremely dangerous if Copernicus never actually found the right solar system, the rocket might have been going the complete opposite of where the moon actually

The reviews written by Roger Ebert, A.O. Scott and Christopher Orr are about the movie Something s Gotta Give which will include an opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of how each review is written. Roger Ebert s 2003 movie review of Something Gotta Give was more informational than it was a review. Ebert used a tone in his writing that would lead readers to believe more details are needed about the characters and set to understand and form an opinion. Ebert made sure readers were aware of the award winning cast featuring Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves, Amanda Pete and Frances McDormand. Ebert observed while watching this film that he himself was moved by the characters. Toward the end of his informational bit Ebert makes an observation that there is a sexual mystery surrounding the situation between Erica played by Diane Keaton, Dr. Mercer played by Keanu Reeves and the notorious Harry played by Jack Nicholson. With plenty of nudity to go around Ebert suggests Nicholson might have contributed to the screenplay. A review written for the New York Times by A.O. Berkeley attempted to improve conditions by introducing other industries and building new towns in several places. Unfortunately, the towns could not be maintained and other attempts only resulted in dissatisfaction and increased taxes. Taxes were also increased due to a need for defense against the Dutch and the Indians. The rising price of English manufactured goods and the increasingly limited English market created more problems for the Virginians. From the terrifying tales of Native American attacks, Virginians learned to fear the Native Americans. They pleaded to the governor for protection from the Native Americans, but Berkeley refused to listen to their tales of Indians committing murders and thieving. It seemed to be that the Indians were the ones receiving protection from Berkeley. The Governor and his grandees were controlling the Indian beaver and otter fur trades, so he didn t want to lose the profit he was making off of his business of trade with the Indians. It is obvious that rural economy is not based on agriculture but rather on a diverse means of activities and enterprises. Much recent thinking on this subject is based on the concept of livelihood diversification as a survival strategy of rural households in developing countries (Ellis, 1998). Farming remains important but rural people are looking for diverse opportunities to increase and stabilize their incomes. Individuals in developing countries often rely on various sources of monetary incomes (Leibbrand and Woolard, 2000). Moreover, Glick (1999) states that monetary earnings are often supplemented through extensive engagement in home production. The situation is likely to be similar in other countries of sub Saharan Africa in particularly and in other developing countries in general. This suggests that studies of labour market participation and labour supply in developing countries should start from the presumption that multiple job holding is the norm rather than the

The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marxessentially presents a well analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole. Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. It explains that the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism. The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that Communism is established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form
