There is no effective communications system without a good idea.. But where the good ideas come from? We have to know what content is connected to a given category, because this content is the key to enter others minds...

Hogyan segíti a tartalom a márkaismertség növekedését?
A prezentációt a Médiapiac konferenciáján adtam elő 2013-ban. Az anyag alapját képező kutatást szintén 2013-ban készítettük a Mediacomnál a Nikon számára.

Curiosity InsightStream uses machines to analyze large amounts of social media data at scale, and uses human analysts to identify deeper human insights from the data. It focuses on understanding consumer conversations, rather than just brand mentions. An example case study showed how InsightStream analyzed posts about Nerf blasters and The Hunger Games to identify an opportunity for Hasbro to launch a new Nerf Rebelle product line targeted at girls, inspired by themes from The Hunger Games. Hasbro subsequently launched a new bow-and-arrow Nerf product in line with the identified insight.
Internet memes come from the original concept of memes as an element of culture passed on from person to person. On the Internet, this spread occurs through online mediums such as social media.[1] Though the terms are related, Internet memes differ in that they are often short-lasting fads, while traditional memes have their success determined by longevity. Internet memes are also seen as less conceptually abstract compared to their traditional counterpart.[2] There is no single format that memes must follow, and they can have various purposes. For example, they often serve as simply light entertainment, but can also be powerful tools for self-expression, connection, social influence, and political subversion.[3]
Two central attributes of Internet memes are creative reproduction and intertextuality.[4] The former refers to the tendency of a popular meme to become subject to parody and imitation, which may occur by mimicry or remix. Mimicry refers to the reproduction of a meme in a different setting to the original (e.g., different people imitating the "Charlie Bit My Finger" viral video). Remix uses the original material of the meme but alters it in some way using technology-based manipulation (such as Photoshop).[4]
Intertextuality may be demonstrated through memes that combine different subjects or aspects of culture. For example, a meme may combine United States politician Mitt Romney's assertion of the phrase "binders full of women" from a 2012 US presidential debate with the Korean pop song "Gangnam Style" by overlaying the text "my binders full of women exploded" onto a frame from Psy's music video where paper blows around him. This gives new meaning to the scene from the music video and blends the political and cultural aspects of two different nations.[4]Internet meme

Mike Godwin coined the term Internet meme in 1993 when he discussed memes as spreading via messageboards, Usenet groups, and email. With the rise of social media platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, memes have become more diverse and can spread quickly. More recent genres include "dank" and surrealist memes, as well as short-form videos such as those uploaded on Vine and TikTok.
Memes are considered an important part of Internet culture, and have become a developed research area. They appear in a range of contexts, such as marketing, economics, finance, politics, social movements, religion, and healthcare. Although some argue memes deserve fair use protection, use of media from pre-existing works can sometimes lead to issues with copyright.Internet memes come from the original concept of memes as an element of culture passed on from person to person. Machine Learning for Non-technical Peopleindico data
Machine learning is one of the most promising and most difficult to understand fields of the modern age. Here are the slides from Slater Victoroff's (CEO of indico) talk at General Assembly Boston for non-technical folks on how to separate the signal from the noise -- stay tuned for the next time he speaks:

The document discusses branding and how brands use digital platforms and data to connect with consumers. It notes that everything around us is branded, from clothes to communication platforms. A powerful brand has a distinctive personality and image that is consistently communicated. The document argues that exploiting digital channels is the most effective way for brands to reach consumers today. Technology has created new digital markets and restructured traditional ones. It has also made consumers more powerful but provided benefits to marketers like cheaper exposure and direct interaction. Big data now allows for detailed consumer profiling and insights that help marketers better understand preferences. While technology has transformed marketing, successful branding requires more than just digital intelligence.
Memes are ideas or behaviors that spread from person to person through imitation. They were first defined by Richard Dawkins to explain cultural phenomena. A meme is typically an image, video, or text that is spread online and often modified slightly as it spreads. Memes are popular on social media because they can grab people's attention with their humorous nature using limited attention spans. While memes can drive traffic to websites by ranking higher in searches, they do not necessarily deliver high-quality visitors.
This document provides an overview of four theoretical approaches to cognitive development: Piaget's theory, information processing theories, core knowledge theories, and sociocultural theories. It discusses key concepts in developmental psychology like nature vs nurture and continuity vs discontinuity. Specifically, it focuses on Piaget's stage theory of cognitive development, outlining his sensorimotor, pre-operational, concrete operational, and formal operational stages.
Hyper-connectivity is disrupting industry boundaries and forcing brands to give up control. Smart brands of the future will focus less on strategy and consistency, and more on co-creating value through open and social interactions. Rather than pursuing excellence, brands will strive to connect through shared purpose and meaningful conversations. Control will be replaced with influence gained by activating valuable connections across networks.
This document provides an overview of narrative theory and several key theorists that can be applied to analyze media texts. It discusses the work of theorists like Branigan, Propp, Barthes, Todorov, and Levi-Strauss. For each theorist, it summarizes their approach to narrative and provides examples of how their concepts could be applied to analyze a music video narrative. The document also provides guidance on how to structure a narrative analysis by identifying narrative codes, binary oppositions, and equilibrium/disequilibrium patterns in the text.

This document discusses strategies for developing effective narratives and storytelling. It explains that culture is shaped by shared mental maps and meaning systems that are contested and evolve over time. It also discusses how dominant cultural narratives often reflect certain institutional agendas. The document then provides examples of mythologies like Thanksgiving and Santa Claus that have narrative power. It suggests analyzing both the positive and negative mythologies associated with a client or product. It also discusses how memes can be used to spread stories virally. Finally, it outlines elements of an effective narrative like conflict, characters, imagery, foreshadowing, and addressing underlying assumptions.

A kapitalizmus a reklámon keresztül kommunikál a társadalommal.

Reality check - it has already begun - the time to take action is now. The good news is that there are solutions available and ready for adoption… but for many the race to catch up to the modern internet risks being a messy, confusing scramble to get back to "normal"
