The document discusses the use of various technologies in creating a final media piece. Technologies used included computers, memory cards, social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and editing software like Prezi, Word, Final Cut Pro, and more. Some technologies like Facebook were easy to use as they are part of everyday life, while others like Prezi took some learning. A few issues came up, like problems publishing to Issuu, but overall technology was essential and enabled planning, filming, editing, and publishing the final work.
2. We have used many different technologies to create our final piece. For
example, we have used, computers, memory cards and memory sticks
and huge amounts of social media, websites and programmes like:
Prezi,Word,Tumblr, Facebook,Twitter, Slideshare, Issuu,YouTube,
Survey Monkey, IPhoto and Final Cut Pro.We have also, used the
equipment which was available to us from what the school offered for
example: tripods, the crane, the track, memory card readers etc.The
main reason why we used so many different types of technology was to
connect to the audience and allow them to have an input into what
they wanted the film to include, for example this was easily done by
using Survey Monkey and Facebook. Also, by usingTumblr, Facebook
andTwitter it was easily accessible for the audience to look at the
progress which was made.We particular chose equipment like the track
and the crane to create interesting shots which made the piece look
more effective.
3. The majority of the technology was easy to use because we use most of
it in our everyday lives for example Facebook. However, if we didn’t
know how to use it, it was simple to work out for example Prezi. Also,
there was easy access to new equipment like the crane because the
school provided us with the opportunity to use it. Although, most of the
filming and editing process went smoothly with no serious mishaps
some of the websites didn’t do what we wanted them to do, an example
of this would be Issuu when we tried to put on the final pictures, this
therefore took a long time to sort out. Another simple issue was that
some of the shots didn’t turn out how we originally wanted them to, so
we deleted them out. Although, we could understand most of the new
technology, Final Cut Pro took a bit of time to work out for example the
effects and re-colouring of clips. This therefore, limited the time we had
to edit because we were beginners at editing.
4. However, we used technology every stage of the planning, filming, editing
and publishing. Without technology we wouldn’t have been able to do half
what we have achieved. We used social media likeTumblr and Facebook
to broadcast the progress we had made. On the other hand, the technology
did cause some distractions like social media and the sound effects
on Final Cut Pro, nonetheless technology didn’t prevent or hinder us from
doing what we wanted to do. By using the different technology we found
different websites like Issue which enabled us to create books to publish our
Work, this made our work look more interesting. Personally, I wouldn’t have
done anything new now we know how to use the variety of technology
because we taught ourselves on the way along. However, if we had of known
how to use all of them at the start it would have been less time consuming.
Additionally, because we live in a society where technology is at our finger
tips it has given us an advantage because the majority of it we knew how to
use already for example camera’s and computers.
5. With the editing process, all of us took turns into physically editing the
final product however; we were all present whilst the process took place
so discussions could be created so we could put in our individual ideas,
an example, of my idea was the sub-titles.
Overall, I don’t think any better software or technology could have been
used because it came out the way we wanted it to come out and the
technologies created the effects we wanted.
