This document provides an outline on monopolistic competition and oligopoly. It begins by explaining where monopolistic competition fits between perfect competition and monopoly. It then discusses the assumptions and characteristics of monopolistic competition in both the short run and long run, including excess capacity, product differentiation, and efficiency. Finally, it summarizes two models used to analyze oligopoly - cartel theory and game theory, using the prisoner's dilemma example.
1. Marketing has evolved from focusing on products alone to understanding customers and their networks. Early on, marketing centered around the 4 P's for products and brands. Then the focus shifted to understanding individual customers and calculating their lifetime value.
2. More recently, marketers recognize that customers exist within social networks that influence their behaviors. Understanding these networks is key, as the value of a customer includes not just their direct spending but the indirect impact on others in their network.
3. Calculating the full "social value" of customers is challenging but important for marketing strategies like product introductions. Early adopters and influential customers tend to provide high social value by driving adoption among their connections.

This study examines the link between corporate governance and employment policies in Russian firms between 1997-2004. The researchers estimate a proxy for private benefits of control using a voting premium model. They then relate this proxy to labor market outcomes like wages and wage arrears. They find wages are higher and arrears lower in firms with more severe governance problems, suggesting expropriation of shareholders implies more generous worker policies. However, this only holds when ownership is dispersed, not when a majority owner controls the firm.

Coach Domenico Tedesco has managed a tactical shakeup and a regular exit for some of the oldest players. Experienced bests remain, not least the 37-year-old Jan Vertonghen in defense, the 32-year-old De Bruyne himself in midfield, and 31-year-old Romelu Lukaku up visible.
Still, younger actors like De Bruyne’s Manchester City partner Jeremy Doku bring fresh vitality to the team. Euro Cup Germany Qualifying unbeaten with just four goals allowed from eight games was a welcome sign of accomplishment back on track under Tedesco.
The only other squad in Group E besides Belgium to UEFA Euro 2024 qualify unbeaten, Romania was awestruck by winning a group that also checked Switzerland and Israel. Still, Euro 2024 will test a squad sorely lacking in top-level skill.
