Classroom Procedures What do I do when my pencil breaks? What do I do when I need to use the restroom? What do I do when I have a question?
What do I do when I finish my work early? NO!! YES!! YES!! You will  always  have  something  to do.
What do I do when the bell rings? NO!! YES!! You should remain seated making sure that your area is clean.  The teacher dismisses, not the bell.  When I dismiss you, push your seat in and walk slowly to the door.
What will I be doing this year? This year you will be expected to take on many different responsibilities in order to have a successful year.  Complete daily journal entries (i.e. “Quick Thinker”). Labs Quizzes and Tests Projects Reading and Homework

Physical Science Motion and Forces Calculate speed, acceleration Newton’s Laws of Motion Gravity, friction, pressure Big Idea:  Physical forces affect the movement of all matter on Earth and throughout the universe
Earth Science Earth’s Surface The Changing Earth Earth’s Waters Earth’s Atmosphere Big idea:  Earth has changed over time and continues to change.

Grading Procedures Each assignment will be assigned a certain number of points. Points determined by length and difficulty of assignment. Points accumulate during the nine weeks and can be converted to a percentage at any time. Review New Brighton’s standard grading scale in your handbook!
Grading Procedures Homework All homework is expected to be turned in at the beginning of class on the day that it is due. Late homework will be accepted for ½ credit as long as it is turned in by Friday of the week that it was assigned.  ** REMEMBER-  ½ credit = 50% at the most!!
