4 th Grade Open House Welcome to Miss Brandau’s 4 th Grade Classroom!
Welcome Parents! Welcome to my classroom. My name is Miss Brandau and I will be your child’s teacher this year. My goal is to help prepare your child for their move up to the 5 th grade next year by giving them new readings, along with moving ahead in math and science, and improve their writing abilities.
Curriculum Outline Writing- We will begin to write short stories, along with papers over different subject matter we are learning. Reading- We will be moving from chapter books to more interesting novels in which papers will be written over what they have learned from the readings. Math- We will be learning multiplication with 2 and 3 numbers along with short and long division. There will be speed tests to see how well they are improving. Science- We will be learning more about the ecosystem and how to help clean up the environment to save animals from extinction and help the world grow.
Parents- Get involved Parents, I am asking you to get involved in your child’s school. Help them with homework as soon as they get home. Become involved in school activities and clubs. Schedule a Parent/Teacher conference every month to see how well your child is doing in their schoolwork.
Activity! Grab a piece of paper, a pencil, and your kid! I would like to see you and your child work together on a drawing of your family. I would like to see: Your house Your pet(s)- if you have any Every person living in your house with you
