The document is a weekly newsletter from Woodinville Community United Methodist Church (WCUMC) dated March 31, 2013. It provides information on upcoming church events for the week, including services, bible studies, and youth group meetings. It also discusses the church's food drive program and summer camp programs for children. Additionally, it provides a financial snapshot of the church's general fund and faith promise support. The main article discusses the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday and invites people to choose Jesus and live forever.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

1. Weekly News from WCUMC-3/31/2013
Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, across the street and around the world.
“ Why do you look for the living
among the dead?”
Resurrection Sunday - March 31, 2013
2. Very early in the morning on the first day of the week, the women went
to the tomb, bringing the fragrant spices they had prepared. They
found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in,
they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. They didn’t know what to
make of this. Suddenly, two men were standing beside them in gleaming
bright clothing. The women were frightened and bowed their faces
toward the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the
living among the dead? He isn’t here, but has been raised. Remember
what he told you while he was still in Galilee, that the Human One must
be handed over to sinners, be crucified, and on the third day rise again.
” Then they remembered his words. When they returned from the
tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven and all the others. It
was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other
women with them who told these things to the apostles. Their words
struck the apostles as nonsense, and they didn’t believe the women.
But Peter ran to the tomb. When he bent over to look inside, he saw
only the linen cloth. Then he returned home, wondering what had
happened.
Luke 24:1-12
Why do you look for the living among the dead?
So many people look for purpose and meaning in the wrong places.
Too often WE have looked for that purpose or meaning of life in places
of idolatry and darkness, rather than looking to the ONLY One who
provides true life…
Jesus is the ONLY ONE who provides that full and joy-filled life!!
Why do people not believe?
There are 3 possibilities about Jesus:
1) A Liar… which means he’s dead… or
2) A Good man who was misguided (crazy)… which means he’s dead…
or
3) He was the Son of God, and He is alive!!
Jesus has changed darkness into light, death into life!! He’s changed
sorrow, pain, and fear into hope, peace, and joy!!!
CHOOSE JESUS… and Live Forever!!

8. New Sunday School Class
starts April 21
All are invited to attend
In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic
that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9
percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.
Because of this, today's believers live very similarly to non-believers. A
personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money
and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life's
ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a
people and a nation.
To counter this slide within the body of Christ, Focus on the Family has
launched one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the history
of our ministry - The Truth Project.
The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 13
one-hour lessons taught by Chris and Patti Ward. This study is the
starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson
discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the
Christian worldview in daily life.
Classes will meet in Room 10 at 9:00 AM beginning April 21.
