WK2 Exploration: Storyboard

Speaking to peers and teachers directly about work proved to be the most useful way for the student to get feedback, as others could point out specific issues and the teachers could demonstrate in real time how to improve.

He found the Financial Avenue assignment and creating budgets for friends to be interesting given his background in banking. Jonathan created a children's book about injury prevention in soccer to educate young athletes. He was inspired by his uncle's soccer injury and wants to teach others how to avoid harm. Through this project, Jonathan learned new skills like book creation and public speaking. He overcame his fear of making mistakes by carefully planning his work. While the slideshow and website parts were easy, writing the book was difficult at first due to stress and time limits. However, Jonathan accomplished his goals and is proud to have completed the project on time.

- 2. Before I started the MCBS Program I was in a fog about where to go next in my career and entrepreneurial pursuits
- 3. I had just left an organization doing creative projects and video editing for them and I realized that even though I didn’t want to be a part of the organization anymore, I really loved what I was doing..
- 4. I had always thought I wanted to have my own business doing what I loved.
- 5. I love to manage projects and work behind the scenes in the creative process
- 6. For me it is not even work and I enjoy seeing the finished results
- 7. But then I tried to go out on my own and realized that I did not have the proper skills, equipment, and software to do the quality work I wanted to do.
- 8. I knew these were some things I needed to acquire.
- 9. Because of that I knew I needed more guidance, education, and experience before going out and doing this on my own.
- 10. The only option I knew that I had in order to get the sills and credentials that I wanted was to go back to school.
- 11. Because of that I started to search for good schools that will help you further your education without having to take classes that you do not need.
- 12. I had an Associates Degree in Psychology because of the organization I was a part of, and during that experience I was bored to death with the curriculum that I had to go through.
- 13. Because of that I decided to keep searching and I remembered a friend of mine speaking about their time at Full Sail studying music production.
- 14. They explained how Full Sail gave them a Launchbox with everything they needed to turn their room into a recording studio.
- 15. So I started to do my own research on the school and I heard mostly great things.
- 16. Until finally I decided to give them a call and enroll in the Media Communications Bachelors of Science Degree Program and I know that it was a great decision.
- 17. At first I was thinking of doing Graphic Design, but I realized that would really put a limit on what I really wanted to do.
- 18. I immediately started learning relevant and interesting things related to the media communications industry.
- 19. And every since I decided to pursue my passion for media and digital creativity I finally feel like I am going in the right direction.
- 20. I get such a great feeling of fulfillment in putting my all in everything that I do here at Full Sail.
