MY STORY
BOARDLAMONT MAYER JR
Before I started the MCBS
Program I was working
towards a Behavioral
Science Degree. It is the field
that I am currently working
in. I work with students with
mental and behavioral
disadvantages.
I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT I WANTED TO BE IN SOME TYPE
OF BUSINESS. I NEVER KNEW WHAT ACTUALLY TYPE OF
BUSINESS. I SAW A JOB OPENING A A CHURCH FOR AN
ACCOUNTANT. I HAD NO EXPERIENCE, BUT I INTERVIEWED
FOR THE JOB ANYWAY WITH A PIECE OF NOTEBOOK PAPER
AND THAT I WROTE A SHEET FULL OF THOUGHTS ON WHY I
WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE JOB!
I got accepted as an intern but the only problem was I wasn’t in
school. So, I begin going to a local community college for
Accounting. I figured, why not? I was good at numbers and
accounting was simply basic addition and subtraction with attention
to details. I was hired on shortly after starting classes.
I got the job I currently work at because it was the hours that I wanted to work. It
was Monday through Thursday overnight, 10 pm - 8 am. I continued to work my
first shift accounting job. I always have been a people’s person so I actually like
my job. I was promoted to a supervisor quickly. It would be easy for me to be
promoted again but I have to have a degree in the field.
I started to pursue a degree in Behavioral Science, but never lost my passion to
start a business
I continued to take other steps to start my own business, The KiNGDOM Group Inc.,
on the side of my regular job which houses; a website, books I’ve written, a Sports
organization, an online radio show, and a freelance production company. I
independently worked on that and used the resources I had to grow the business until
finally,
I bumped into a friend who had recently graduated from Full Sail University. He
told me about the advantages of going to a school like Full Sail and the structure of
the school. I instantly fell in love.

Full Sail Graduate
I research the
school myself and
found the
program that best
fit all I was doing.
Enrolling into Full
Sail’s MCBS
Program is the
first time, in my
adult years, I
have went to
school for
something that I
wanted to do. I
found that
everything I was
passionate about
was under the
MCBS Program
and ever since I
decided to pursue
my passion for
media…
