WEB 3.0 - the Semantic WEB
Semantic Web
 A concept of world wide web that is designed to cater
to the individual needs.
 semantic meaning data driven
 The Semantic “organize the world’s information” Web (Web
3.0) promises to in a dramatically more logical way than Google
can ever.
 “read-write-execute”
Web 3.0 Problems
Compatibility
HTML files and current web browsers
could not support 3.0
Security
The user’s security is also in question
since the machine is saving his or her
preferences
Vastness
The world wide web already contains
billions of web pages
Vagueness
Certain worlds are imprecise. The
world “old” and “small” would
depend on the user.
Logic
Since machine use logic, there are
certain limitations for a computer to
be able to predict what the user is
referring to at the given time.
How do you think this technology
(Web3.0) will help you on your chosen
track/strand.
Reminder:
 Please Bring 1/8 index card with picture
(1x1/passport size or 2x2) next meeting, write
your name, section and strand.
 & Prepare for a not so short Quiz next
meeting.

Editor's Notes

  • #2 semantic meaning behind what you say. semantic meaning data driven. The data will come from the user and the web will essentially adjust to meet the needs of the user. For example, if you do a lot of searching for ‘design blogs’, you’ll receive more advertisements related to design. Also, when you search for other things, for example, ‘computers’, the web will keep in mind that you often search for design and may pull up search queries that combine ‘design’ and ‘computers’.
  • #3 Web 3.0 will be your companion on meeting what we called expectation highly rated to our taste and preference and even budget, 1.0 –read only 2.0 read – write web 3.0 -0 “read-write-execute”  Unlike Web 2.0, Web 3.0 is made by a machine while Web 2.0 is made by a person interacting with his/her followers or subscribers. their differences are enumerated below.  These include transforming the Web into a database, a move towards making content accessible by multiple non-browser applications, the leveraging of artificial intelligence technologies, the Semantic web, the Geospatial Web, or the 3D web.
