Impressionists were seen as artists who were challenging normal and accepted concepts of color and
light. Impressionism got its start when certain painters started to use more natural methods of
painting and lighting their work, really straying from the traditional rules of academic painting and
art. In 1874, a group of artists called the Anonymous Society of Painters, Sculptors, Printmakers, etc.
put together an exhibit in Paris, France(4). Subsequently starting the movement which we know
today as Impressionism. Its founding members included Claude Monet, and Edgar Degas among
others. The group was unified and brought together only by its independence from the official
annual Salon (the Salon was the official art exhibition of the AcadГ©mie des Beaux Arts in Paris.
The salon considered to be the greatest annual art event in the Western world beginning in 1667) (2).
While many conservative critics disapproved of their work for its unfinished and sketch like

In modern day society, individuals are influenced by strong superiority figures their whose
dominance stems from internal power. Authority can often lead subordinates to rebel and seize
control; therefore ability to obtain power is exceptionally difficult. A rivalry for rigid power is seen
in the literary piece, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest. The limited dominance is shifted fluidly
between Nurse Ratched and Randle McMurphy, and finally designated to Chief Bromden. Although
Nurse Ratched exercises initial control over her ward, Randle McMurphy attempts to disobey her
authority through defiance, and ultimately the power shifts into Chief Bromden s final control in
One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest.
In the beginning of the novel, Nurse Ratched undoubtedly dominates the control of the mental
hospital. Chief s profound description of Nurse Ratched reveals he feels threatened by her.
Chief insists that she blows up bigger and bigger, big as a tractor (5) indicating he feels
figuratively smaller than Nurse Ratched. He also details her as a stiff, calculated, and precise like
a machine running the whole facility. Chief Bromden feels so impotent under her ruling, that he
hallucinates a fog machine and keeps everyone satisfied under her power. The fog is a reoccurring

sure that plays are always different and this play was completely different from the one we
watched a couple weeks ago Rent . This play is serious in its content , it is a specific historical
play, which took place in Germany, more exactly Berlin, in the 1930s. The story is about five good
friends during the time of the rise of Adolf Hitlerand the Nazi party, the time before World War II.
The story surrounded the main characterAgnes, who just loves her home and lives on her own and

were no longer in a museum in Fort Tryon Park, but in the apse of a church of San Martin at

room makes one feel so small and insignificant. The high ceiling and the large, spacious room
puts a person into perspective about their size compared to the rest of the world. The high

another, which must have made sermons and services easily heard. The high windows, or the
clerestory, bring the room a source of light, and bring about this sense of feeling far away from the

Weight and Activity Level I have been overweight most of my life. As a child I was overweight
but during my early teen years as I grew, I began to lean out. I was able to maintain a healthy
weight throughout middle school but when I began working during high school I had less time
to exercise so I started to, again, gain weight. Since then I have consistently stayed between 200
and 210 pounds which puts me in the obese category with a BMI of 32. Luckily, taking physical
