Nal’ibali (isiXhosa for “here’s the story”) is a national reading-for-enjoyment campaign to spark children’s potential through storytelling and reading. Children who are immersed in great and well-told stories – and in languages they understand – become inspired and are motivated to learn to read for themselves. Such personally rewarding learning is a recipe for successful literacy development. Nal’ibali is driven by PRAESA (the Project for the Study of Alternative Education), Times Media and a growing number of partners. Through sustained mentoring and collaboration with communities, reading clubs, literacy organisations and volunteers of all ages, as well as a vibrant media campaign, Nal’ibali is helping to root a culture of literacy into the fabric of everyday life in South Africa.

Book Babies
The Book Babies program provides books, literacy coaching, and other supports to families with young children from birth to age 5. Through home visits every year, Book Babies staff deliver books and model reading to enrolled Medicaid-eligible families, discussing early literacy skills with parents. The program aims to ensure children own 120 books and receive 12 home visits by kindergarten. Parents are empowered as the primary agents in developing their children's literacy foundation during the critical preschool years.

A library is an organized collection of information sources that comes in different types like academic, public, children's and special libraries. Libraries promote knowledge by preserving information, facilitating independent study and research, and developing pupils' reading skills like comprehension, vocabulary and interest in reading. Effective school libraries involve pupils in activities, establish rapport with librarians, and make pupils aware of the importance of reading.
The Children's Writers and Illustrators Group Presentation on Author Visits
This document summarizes the results of a survey conducted by the Society of Authors on author visits to schools. The key findings were:
1) 154 schools responded reporting over 1,400 author visits, and 99% felt author visits were highly valuable in encouraging reading for pleasure and creative writing.
2) Schools reported that author visits inspired pupils, increased library use and reading diversity, and built confidence in reluctant readers.
3) Visits were found to boost reading for pleasure and benefit reluctant and special education readers by growing their confidence.

The Killeen Independent School District is offering new employees hired on or after September 1, 2021 a one-time recruitment stipend. to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
