Summer Reading helps build literacy and
language skills, prevents the dreaded summer
slide for school-aged children, encourages
teens and adults to experience the joy of
reading and so much more. This year’s theme is
Build a Better World. As you make plans, don’t
forget to stop by the library each week for
exciting activities for all ages. Our programs are
designed to help grow your mind and body
from author talks to nutritional workshops and
yoga. Children can look forward to favorites
like Chad Crews, Porkchop Productions and
EdVenture while adults have bestselling author
Lisa Wingate and South Carolina Poet Laureate
Marjory Wentworth.
Important Dates:
• Online registration starts May 22
• Logging starts June 1
• Prizes awarded beginning June 12
• Summer Reading ends August 5

Bojangles’and Chick-fil-A,
as well as, a book, Summer
Reading medal and ticket
to a Lexington County
Blowfish Baseball game.
Tracking time is easy and
online. For children and
