tongue influence that is a part of the way you
speak in English.

A consonant sound is formed when :
Articulators come into
contact with one
another
An obstruction is
created in the oral
tract
Voiced : They are produced with a
tangible vibration of the vocal cords
with very little or no air (aspiration)
Voiceless : They are accompanied by
a puff of air with very little or no
vibration of the vocal cords. This is
called aspiration.

In linguistics, stress is the relative
emphasis that may be given to certain
syllables in a word. The term is also used
for similar patterns of phonetic prominence
inside syllables.
